  • Accelerate Your Heartbeat With Visitor in Ramped-Up Single "Overthinker"

Alt/Rock band Visitor consists of members Randy Gray, Steve Dombroski, Dustin Buckley, and Billy Pierce. Each member brings a layer of sound to the band that is ultimately eccentric. Once the intrinsic qualities of each artist come together, the product is an undeniable eclectic rock style. Throughout all of Visitor's tracks, there is a manifested electric and diversified melody, which is the primary factor in their music. All members of Visitor gravitate towards the music scene; knowing that music was a buzzing passion for each holds them together as artists. Visitor produces a gritty and industrialized sound in their music.  When Visitor creates a song, they consider each melody, each feeling, each emotion extracted from that song, and puts it together layer by layer. Visitor offers a dynamic listening experience, and we're right there alongside them, ready for whatever it is they offer next. Visitor's latest single "Overthinker" doesn't compromise on energy. The band successfully maintains a riveting and vigilant intensity throughout the song. These qualities surface through electric guitar combined with the rhythm of drums. Visitor ensures a lively experience with "Overthinker" with all of the alt/rock characteristics on full display. "Overthinker" houses a creative force that listeners can easily appreciate. The song is a high-intensity, yet soft-execution song that will pique your senses and curiosity. • "Heartbeat" by Alexandra Willett Is a Testament to Staying Strong During Heartache

Have you ever loved, only to lose the one you love? If you have, you will be able to understand Alexandra Willett’s new single, "Heartbeat". Beginning slow, with the soft strumming of an acoustic guitar, Alexandra tells the story of how the one you love changes; slowly until you can see that the love which was once there, no longer lives in their eyes. As the chorus approaches, the guitar builds to a marching strum, the perfect accompaniment to the artist's words of enlightenment. She implores the listener not to lose themselves when they’ve lost someone. Instead, they should listen to their own heartbeats and know that they are still alive. This incredible song is a testament to the talent of this Canadian singer/songwriter. Originally from Quebec, Alexandra began singing and writing at a very young age. Soon after, she picked up the guitar and has not put it down since. The talented musician graduated with a Diploma in jazz and made the decision to change her direction and head west to BC. While in British Columbia, Alexandra earned a degree in Musical Theatre. Her first single "Tip Toe" was played on CBC radio stations across Canada. In November, she completed her very first tour. Alexandra also has big things on the horizon, with her debut EP scheduled for release on February 28th of this year. We look forward to the privilege of listening to more of her poignant storytelling and carefully crafted acoustic-pop style by Alexandra Willett. Check out "Heartbeat" here. Hello Alexandra, welcome to Buzz Music and thank you for being here. Your new single "Heartbeat" really pulls at our heartstrings. With such honest storytelling, what events in your life inspired the writing of this song? Thank you for having me! "Heartbeat" was inspired by the people who are closest to me in my everyday life. The last year was extremely hard on some of those people I love, and it's hard to watch them spiral downwards and not being able to do anything to help. I wrote this song hoping it can reach them and let them know I'm always there. It's also a good reminder for myself that if I keep listening to my heart and not my fear, then I'll make choices that I'll never regret. You’ve been playing the guitar since you were very young and have made it an identifiable factor in the music you make. How would you describe the effect the instrument has within your songs? It will obviously depend on the song, but I've been trying to play around with its effect on the lyrics I choose. For example, a repetitive pattern might help elevate the lyrics more than strumming would. I've also been toying with foreshadowing a melody on the guitar first, and then making more of an impact when I sing it. It's such a versatile instrument, and there are so many ways to use it. The real inspiration for "Heartbeat" came from me tapping that rhythm on the guitar to mimic an actual heart. All in all, the guitar is just an integral part of how I've developed my songwriting. You’ve invested a lot in your music education. What would you say sparked this love for music within you? The spark of music was most certainly given to me by my mother. She will proudly claim that she could sing harmonies with me when I was 5 years old. She loves music of all kinds and would sing and play guitar throughout my childhood. I even borrowed her guitar - without asking - and self-taught myself from her chord books. What a surprise for her to find out from my music teacher that I'd been playing guitar the entire year! When college rolled around, she's the one who suggested I study both science and music, and needless to say, I ran with music and never looked back. My mum is the base upon which I was able to build my love for music, and I will always be grateful for that. The last year has been one of tremendous growth for you as an artist. What more do you plan to accomplish in the future? The past year has been absolutely insane! From just starting out, to releasing an EP, going on my first tour, getting nationwide radio play... it's been a whirlwind. Coming up, I'm planning a bigger cross Canadian tour for the end of the summer, starting to look at making a French EP and expanding my audience to Europe. The end goal is to be able to support me entirely through music, so there's a whole lot to be done. My number one joy is being able to share music with people,  so I just hope I can keep doing that for a very long time. alexandrawillettartist.com facebook.com/alexandrawillettartist youtube.com/alexandrawillett instagram.com/awillettartist twitter.com/awillettartist #BuzzMusic

  • Martina Armour Bridges the Gap Between Folk and Rock With “Knife”

Martina Armour is a singer and songwriter from Los Angeles who writes a narrative with her songwriting, providing her audience with the right kind of music.  Her music is known to create bridges between pop-folk, rock music, and Scandinavian melancholy. Martina brings something new with her second single, “Knife”.  This is one of six songs from her debut EP produced by Alex Williams. “Knife” begins with a melody of sparse, low pitched piano notes. Martina Armour soon adds artfully monotone vocals that later build into a powerful chorus. In the background, a violin chorus joins piano notes and a comforting bass drum beat. The violin and piano serve to trigger emotion in her audience. Martina Armour sings about her struggle and inner tension and uses metaphor to make it personal for everyone.  She includes phrases like “knife under my breath” and “bomb inside my words” to represent the potential for concealed chaos in her life. The song has a quirky, mysterious vibe while maintaining its earthy elements.  This song compares favorably to the work of Florence and the Machine. Passionate vocals, emotional instrumentals, and metaphorical lyrics combine to give Martina Armour’s “knife” alluring energy that will make music fans want to hear more. Welcome back to BuzzMusic Martina Armour! The energy in your single “Knife” was contagious. Can you tell us what we can expect from the rest of your debut EP? Thank you so much! “Knife" and “Trouble” are the first songs out of six total. They are all gonna be pretty different from each other musically but all touching on the themes of impossible love, belonging and finding yourself. Also, I’m super excited to include a Fleetwood Mac cover of it! You are talented in combining pop, folk, rock, and “Scandinavian melancholy” styles of music into your songs. Why did you end up choosing these specific genres to create your music? My sound is a fusion of a wide variety of music I grew up listening to and of what really inspired me up to today. I find it hard to settle on one genre, so I think subconsciously I borrowed from everywhere. I grew up on music like Bruce Springsteen and Fleetwood Mac (which I still listen to) then I got really into Australian artists like Missy Higgins and Paul Kelly. And some of my favorites today are Maggie Rogers and Brandi Carlile. These are all artists with music that moves me and inspires me to create. Also growing up in Scandinavia added a moodiness in my songs I guess, ha! The winters are long and dark, so there’s time for a lot of self-reflection. You included many powerful metaphors in your lyrics for “Knife,” including “knife under my breath and “bomb inside my words.” Can you elaborate on the message of this song? Those lyrics tell the story of someone who sits on some pretty heavy truth. And as soon as those words come out of their mouth, they cannot be unsaid. The damage is done. So the question is, do you keep quiet in order to not hurt the other, or do you push it down and eventually hurt yourself? With your lyrics, you expressed your feelings through metaphors. How did you come to use this style of songwriting, and how does it influence your music and the type of artist you are? Oh man, I love me a good metaphor! I’m on an endless search for the next best metaphor haha. Sometimes they describe a feeling much better than plain words do, you know? A metaphor can set the mood and really make you think, giving a particular line of lyric a past, present, and future without explaining too much. I’ve always loved using metaphors, but I think the artist that opened up a whole new world of metaphors for me when I started writing as a teenager was Missy Higgins. Her lyrics have inspired me so much, I wish I wrote like that! What can we expect to see from Martina Armour throughout 2020? We are working on the music video for “Knife” right now, and it will come out before the summer. I’m heading back into the studio at The Village to finish recording the last couple of songs on the EP. I got a third single coming out, accompanied by a music video. There’s gonna an EP release party with some live shows. Then there are some exciting things I’m working on that I can’t share yet, but stay tuned ;) martinaweidenmo.com twitter.com/martinaweidenmo instagram.com/martinaweidenmo facebook.com/MartinaArmourMusic #BuzzMusic

  • Zach James Releases His Eerie New Single "Ghost"

Through his new single, “Ghost”, Zach James welcomes you to the seance. As the eerie pop song plays, beautifully dramatic lyrics awaken memories that might have been better left to rest. "Ghost" is about a love that ended poorly is brought back to life by the powerful forces of nostalgia. Zach James is haunted by the memory of a love lost. Someone he describes as a fellow 'king of paper town' is gone. This absence is as haunting as a restless spirit. Zach sees the memories of his loved one through rose-colored glasses, remembering only the good times, ignoring the bad times. He is overwhelmed with, 'why did you go?', 'We were so good together'. But that is not the whole truth. In this song, Zach explores the unhealthy habit of lying to ourselves. We tell ourselves that everything is okay when really, it isn't. When a loved one leaves, we sometimes martyr them, desperately clinging to pieces of them. But we never allow ourselves to see the whole picture. Zach James uses soulful lyrics and the powerful push of a pop beat to illustrate the messages in “Ghost”. Drawing inspiration from artists like Ed Sheeran, Billie Eilish, and Conan Gray, Zach creates a thoughtful and vibrant song that combines heartfelt lyrics and nostalgic melodies. With such an immense talent for songwriting, we can't wait to see what this Austin-based artist does next. Listen to "Ghost" here. Hello Zach, welcome to Buzz Music and thank you for being here! We appreciate you taking the time to answer some questions about your career so far and your new single "Ghost" - which is phenomenal by the way. You have a talent for using music to tell incredibly emotional stories. What kind of experiences do you typically write about? Howdy, y'all! Thank you for having me! Awe, I'm so glad you like the song. It really means a lot to me. Well, I write about a ton of different things. Most of what I write about is based around certain things that I, personally, have gone through or am currently going through. But, I also write some of my songs around stories that people have told me, experiences my friends and family have gone through, or just an emotion/feeling that I think would be fun to make a song about, regardless if I've felt it or not. It is clear that you use music to convey powerful messages that need to be heard or to tell stories that need to be learned from. What do you hope to do by telling these stories? I hope that people can use my music as a mirror for themselves. I think there are a lot of stories that I've written about that need to be shared. Everyone deserves their story to be told, so I try my best to tell them as best as I can. I think the main thing I want to do is to tell people that it's okay to feel. I know quite a few people that think it's a strength to push back any emotion they have just to put on a front to other people or not speak their truth because they're afraid of offending others. Like, noooo! the true strength is being able to be vulnerable. Pushing certain feelings/experiences back is only going to make things worse for yourself, people around you, etc. But yeah, if you're sad, be sad. If you're happy, be happy. F*ck everyone else's opinions. You are originally from Buffalo, NY but currently reside in Austin. What influenced this move across the country? I am, and I do! Haha, I wish it was a cooler story but its quite boring. My dad just picked my brothers, my mom, and I up one day and said: "We're getting the hell out of here cause I don't wanna be here." It sucked for my family, but I was so ready to get out of Buffalo. I think that move was one of the best things to ever happen to me haha. I would've never been confident enough to do anything if I didn't move to Austin. "Ghost" is such a beautiful and honest song that we want more! This kind of truthful songwriting needs to be the norm in the industry. What can we expect from you in the future? Awe, Oh My God thank you. I appreciate it! I have a pretty exciting year ahead of me. I'm going to release my first project soon, which is very scary and exciting. It's all about the stages of a breakup, so yey emo songs haha. I'm also going to put some more singles out that I'm super excited for people to hear, and hopefully get to tour and do some shows for y'all. I'm sooooo excited to show everyone what I've been hiding for so long, I can literally start crying thinking about it haha. But yeah, 2020 is going to be amazing! instagram.com/zchjmes twitter.com/zachjameswho facebook.com/zchjmes #BuzzMusic

  • Break Fate Empowers Us With Gushing Guitar and a Powerful Message

Sprouting from the broken pieces of a broken system, this London based Pop-Punk band has come to retake their power. Break Fate was formed back in 2017 by lead vocalist Mashana and guitarist Ricky. Fresh out of college, the two musicians battled with their own anxieties about facing the big and scary world. They released two singles, each followed by their own videos and soon were noticed by their drummer, Oliver. It became apparent to them that the entire world must relate to their feelings of anxiety and confusion, so the trio began to write about the experiences that influenced them. Three years later, the band has surfaced with a mission: to enrich and enlighten through their music. In their new song "Fire", off of their debut LP of the same name, the band addresses climate change, political instability and everything else going haywire on this planet we inhabit. The powerful vocals, unrelenting guitar, and marching drums serve to emphasize the fears we all feel, but imprinting fear is not the song’s purpose; in fact, it’s instilling hope. We live our lives in the fire, constantly being burnt by things we have no control over, but in the wise and powerful words of Break Fate, "When we are not alone, everything is okay". Stream "Fire" here and check out our exclusive interview with Break Fate below. Hello Break Fate, welcome to Buzz Music and thank you for being here! We at BuzzMusic are big fans of your powerful music. What experiences have you had that influence the music you write? Hello Buzz Music! Thank you so much for enjoying our music and for featuring us! Our music was born out of confusion about our place in the world and who we were as people. Our lead vocalist, Mashana, wrote the band's first-ever song and the first line read: I will face life with Ferocity. Although the song is short, the song summarises how we were all feeling about ourselves. The song was about becoming self-aware about your shortcomings and aiming yourself towards becoming a better person. That track became a mantra for us. A way of life even. It told us that growing up meant becoming better people and taking care of ourselves. We poured that same energy into our other songs. The power of your song’s lyrics is magnified by the howling vocals, enthusiastic guitar and energetic drums. How would you describe the band's process of composing music? We have a weird albeit organic way of composing. The lyrics are written by Mashana or Ricky (lead guitarist) and they bounce ideas back and forth. These ideas range from vocal melodies, guitar melodies or generally just talking about where they want the song to go. Then, once we feel good and excited about a song, we bring in our drummer Oliver who has the fantastic ability to pull the song together and giving it life. We tend to iron out the kinks and experiment more when recording with our producer Takahide George. You are very vocal about problems existing within the state of the world. What issues are you particularly hoping to change with your music? I think we are first and foremost concerned about the well being of people. We think that if we can embark on a mission to better ourselves and to do good towards other people then that translates and galvanizes us to do more and fix the issues that plague the world. We understand that this is highly idealistic but we believe aiming high motivates us. Even though we sometimes fail to hit the mark. You have recently released your debut LP. How else do you plan to grow your band in the future? Our LP is set to be released on May 1st. We’ve put in place a marketing strategy to find our audience and get them on board the hype train before our album drops. We do our absolute best to engage with our fans via our social media accounts. This way, they’re interacting with us personally. In the future, hopefully, later this year, we plan on going on a small tour around the UK and taking our music to different cities. We want to actually meet people face to face, get to know them and introduce ourselves. instagram.com/breakfateband facebook.com/breakfateband twitter.com/breakfateband #BuzzMusic

  • The Bird and the Bear Bring Honesty and Compassion With "Come Clean"

Husband and wife music duo The Bird and The Bear are manifesting their sound straight out of Nashville, TN. The two, originally hailing from different countries, came together and realized their symbiotic passion for music. Subsequently, The Bird and The Bear was created, and the rise of Folksy/Bluesy songs came as a result. The Bird and The Bear offer an honest and complimentary sound, tying in so many different components across many genres. It's observable to us that The Bird and The Bear bring about a sound that's enriched with genuine emotion, something you can physically hear throughout their music. We feel as if we're receiving a real performance with the duo every time one of their tracks glide across our ears, and their most recent release of "Come Clean" wasn't any different. A prominent guitar presence opens up the rustic vibe The Bird and The Bear maintain throughout "Come Clean". When both vocalists merge their voices together, the product ends up incredibly harmonious and full of life. "Come Clean," tells a darker and deeper story, and we want to highlight the way the duo are able to bring that sense of vitality to the song, even when telling a more melancholic story. There's an impeccable flavor that the husband/wife duo brings to "Come Clean", which we know comes mainly in the form of their vocal range. There's such consistency with their voices, and that goes to say a lot, because "Come Clean" houses some wide-ranging vocal tones from The Bird and The Bear. All in all, "Come Clean" presents a heartfelt message, one that encompasses a profound message regarding the relationship with another, and the honesty that comes along. The bird and The Bear undoubtedly hold a special place in our hearts for their warming presence with one another, and we're hoping for more of their similar sounds to melt along with in the future! Check out "Come Clean" by The Bird and The Bear here. Welcome, The Bird and The Bear! Let's get started by talking about your journey as a husband and wife music duo! How has the experience been thus far, creating music together and sharing that part of your lives so intimately? Are there any prominent challenges you've encountered as a duo regarding your artistry? We met in 2011, at a hostel in Nashville, TN. We started making music pretty much as soon as we met, so the relationship and the musical collaboration really coincided. Before getting married we released an EP, Breathe, and a single, "Sleep Alone" which was inspired by our time spent apart during the long-distance periods of our relationship. Music allowed us a way to bond through our time in separate countries. And even now it's still a great outlet for us to be able to create intimate moments when the world seems chaotic. As far as challenges, we both definitely have our own tastes and backgrounds but we always seem to find a common ground to combine our influences. "Come Clean" was a recent single release from the both of you! With this release, did you feel your music was extending out in a different direction? Definitely! We describe our music as "sad songs for happy people", and with this release, we feel like we can show a rockier side of our music. With previous releases, we aimed for a folkier sound, and while that's still definitely our core, we wanted to be open to some of our older influences as well as other collaborators. Nick Bullock, our producer, and Aaron Shaffer-Haiss, the drummer on this album, really brought the energy out of this song when we were thinking it would be a simple, stripped-down track. They really helped us find that balance of folk and rock. Our friends in South for Winter also lent their vocal and cello talents and brought this track to another level! Just listening along to "Come Clean" the underlying, intimate message appears quite clear. Can you share with our readers the overall intent of creating "Come Clean", and how/if you wanted it to help others? We always hope the music we create helps others with whatever they're going through, even if that's not the initial intent. The danger of writing relationship songs as a married couple is that most people assume it's autobiographical. But we're really just trying to find stories we think might resonate with people. This song took quite a while to take shape, with different sections being written years apart. We try not to force anything creatively and we just kind of had to be patient to see what this song wanted to be. How do you ensure that an intimate connection between the two of you is maintained during a performance? Do the two of you find it easy to display that connection across a performance, just as well as you do with a recording? We've always had a special connection, the live performance is really the big payoff, emotionally. It's our happy place! Performing live was a big part of both of our lives before we met so it's nice to share that with somebody on such an intimate level. Not that long ago, an audience member asked us after a show if we were newlyweds, because of the way we look at each other and interact on stage. Truth is, we'll be married for 7 years this May! What can we expect to see next from you? After Lover's Waltz and Come Clean, we're getting ready to release the 3rd single and title track of our upcoming record, Wild Rose. We're aiming to release it later this year, hopefully in the Spring. We're now booking Summer dates in support of the release. facebook.com/thebirdandthebear instagram.com/birdbearmusic #BuzzMusic

  • Brookelyn Rose Sings Her Heart out in New Song “Hymns”

Singer/songwriter Brookelyn Rose grew up in Philadelphia, PA, and moved to Los Angeles to focus on music, and to perfect her skills as a musician. Brookelyn has been hard at work on new music and plans to travel across LA to make her voice heard. Using her own life experiences and struggles as inspiration, Brookelyn Rose creates music that tells a story and will relate to her listeners. Brookelyn Rose has recently released her new single “Hymns”, which is a powerful blend of pop/rock and soul. Her voice is deep and sedative, with incredible control over tone and pitch. The soul influences are prominent and the chorus is predominantly rock, giving a unique blend of genres. “Hymns” is the type of song you can dance to, and at the same time feel all the intense emotions she was feeling when it was written. Brookelyn sings about the pain of letting someone go when they aren’t the person you thought they were. Her unique style and passion truly stand out. She fills her lyrics with soulful metaphors, a trait of a true lyricist. With lyrics such as “shed you like the dead skin of a dragon breathing fire”, Brookelyn Rose shows her talent and potential to touch people’s hearts. Stream "Hymns" by Brookelyn Rose here. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Brookelyn Rose! We loved your song “Hymns”, can you tell us what made you pick that as the title of the song? This song acts as a prayer, or a hymn, for people who feel lost or look at themselves in the mirror and don’t recognize the person they see looking back at them. I’m not a religious person, so the word “Hymns” in this song has to do with the action of rising up against the worst parts of yourself and finding the strength to be better than you were yesterday. To me, that’s a religious experience, feeling moved and motivated by something. That’s why I found “Hymns” to be a fitting title. What is one thing you hope people will take/learn from “Hymns” when they have their first listen? If you take anything away from your first listen, I hope it’s the feeling of connection and strength. You definitely have a way with words, Brookelyn! “Hymns” has beautiful and thoughtful lyrics, how long have you been writing music for? Have you always known this is what you wanted to do? Thank you, I appreciate that! I think words are really important in music and I love telling personal stories that people relate to.I’ve been writing lyrics and melodies since I was in middle school and then began recording original songs when I started college. Writing and performing music is the only thing I’ve ever wanted to do. There’s a video time capsule from first grade that was shared with us at my high school graduation. In this video, our teachers asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up and my answer was, “a singer”. For me, pursuing music as a career has been my calling; There’s never been another option. How has your career evolved since your move to Los Angeles? What have you learned in this process? My career has evolved tremendously since moving to LA. I’ve met so many talented musicians, producers and performers who inspire me and work with me to create art; It’s really incredible! I’ve changed as a person and an artist and as a result of that; My sound and what I write about have changed too. This song, in particular, is very close to me because it’s the most vulnerable songwriting I’ve ever done. This song isn’t about a break-up or a lover, it’s about how I saw myself during a particular time in my life. Creating this song has been a liberating experience for me.I’ve learned that this industry demands collaboration. No one succeeds on their own. You find people who are as talented and driven as you are and you work tirelessly for what you love, together. That’s the key. Thank you for talking with us Brookelyn and congratulations on the release of "Hymns." What can fans anticipate next from you? Thanks so much! I’m playing shows across LA with my band to promote my new releases and I have another new song coming out this summer! Check out my Instagram and Facebook pages to catch one of my upcoming shows! instagram.com/brookelynrosemusic facebook.com/brookelynrosemusic twitter.com/brookelynmusic #BuzzMusic

Knowing that you’ve been attracted to the arts scene in the city of Barrie for many years, in what ways has your environment and experience with dancing help cultivate your musicality? Dancing has given me a love of movement with my music. When I’m writing or practicing, I often find myself dancing as I work. I have to feel the music both in my body and in my heart & mind. I can’t separate the two. My experience in dance taught me to feel the music and express it through movement. I am grateful for my dance experience and what it has added to my music. You launched an amazing debut single, “Soaring High” back in July of 2019. Tell us in what ways has your artistry in “My Story” evolve since the release of this single? Since releasing “Soaring High,” I have grown a lot as an artist and as a person. I have learned so much about the creative process involved in taking my ideas and feelings forward into lyrics and then into a complete song. I am becoming more comfortable sharing parts of myself in my music. We all may lead different lives and have different stories but we also have so many experiences that are similar. “My Story” is a continuation of my journey to grow and express myself. We noticed an honest quality of your songwriting approach in both “Soaring High” and “My Story”. “My Story” seemed to have a strong lyrical message behind it. What inspired you to write this song and how were you able to personally connect with it? When writing "Soaring High" and "My Story," I was inspired by personal experience. I do my best to send a positive message to my audience. I used situations from my past as inspiration for the song. I knew that if I wrote about something that I had experienced, it would be more meaningful to me and to my listeners. What was the most challenging aspect of creating “My Story”? Can you detail us some of the obstacles you stumbled upon when making this song and how did it contribute to your growth as an artist? The most challenging aspect of My Story was the writing process. I had some difficulties finding the right words for the emotion in the lyrics. It took some time, but now that I’ve overcome this challenge, I’ve learned more about myself as a person and a songwriter. What's next for Riley Camryn? I will continue releasing new covers and original songs. I hope to release an album one day full of only original songs. I will take any opportunity I can to grow as a singer, songwriter, and performer. I will continue working hard to make my dreams come true. I am so thankful for all of the support I’ve received so far. instagram.com/rileycamryn_music facebook.com/pg/RileyCamrynMusicOfficial twitter.com/riley_camryn_ #BuzzMusic
