  • New Music Friday: Kasper Svare Releases "“Grl Why U Only Txt Me When U Drnk” Featuring Alfred Banks

From Copenhagen, DK, Kasper Svare is an artist to watch. His style is modern R&B, Pop and singer-songwriter. The rising artist started writing music at the age of 9 and has always put a personal touch into his melodies and lyrics.  A classic acoustic guitar part to start off “Grl Why U Only Txt Me When U Drnk” is an unexpected, but pleasant surprise. The beautiful melody carries throughout the track. The contrast between the more classic melody and the modern beat gives the song a unique feel that’s also catchy. Often, when songs introduce a rap, it feels forced. This is not the case, however, with “Grl Why U Only Txt Me When U Drnk”. The rap flows so effortlessly and serves to add to that unique feel. Speaking about feeling unappreciated in a relationship and only being called up when the person your into is lonely, Kasper Svare’s lyrics are written from a personal place. This is a song that a lot of people can relate to. The contrast of Kasper Svare’s music and instrumentation is alluring and we can’t wait to hear more. Listen here. Welcome to BuzzMusic! Tell us a bit more about yourself and how you got your start in music. I’m Kasper and I’m a 21-year-old artist from the little country in Europe called Denmark. I started playing the guitar and piano when I was 9 years old and I began to write my first songs about whatever I saw, heard and experienced at that time. I started to play my first gigs at the local school with a band I was in, and I knew at that time this was the thing I wanted to do for the rest of my life. I’ve been playing gigs around DK, on upcoming festivals, small Venues, and clubs, and from that, I’ve been learning a lot about how to perform, talk to the audience and of course play gigs where only a small group of people shows up and still try to a accomplish a show and to keep my head up. But last year in 2019 I felt I was ready to release my music, and it felt right that my first single “Twentyfour/Seven” was an acoustic record because that’s been me with a guitar and my voice since I was a little kid. The sound I’m doing now in 2020 is modern R&B inspired and a place where I’m feeling very inspired and really can see myself. I feel that I can mix that with my old “Singer-songwriter” style and create a sound with some nice melodies and a nice bouncy beat. I will like my songs to be those you can chill to in your car but also can bounce to Friday night. What inspired you to write “Grl Why U only Txt Me When U Drnk”? The idea of the song came from an experience with an old friend of mine. We were good friends and I maybe got some feelings for her. I felt like she knew that and played me around, and that got me crazy because I didn’t know what to do. On the day she was ignoring me but every weekend around 4 am she typically called me up and told me “why are We just friends”. So yeah. I felt she only liked me when she was a little tipsy, haha, and that’s not what I’m gonna use my time on. Why is it so important to you that your music reflects who you are? It’s important for me because I want to give a picture of my life and what’s going on through my music. It’s like meditation every time I’m sitting in the studio and create beats, lyrics, and melodies. What can we expect from you in 2020? In 2020 I’m gonna release songs with a new sound I’ve been working on. The first song is out this spring. I can’t wait to show this new vibe and to perform my new songs. I’m also working on a collab with another artist. The song title and feature will be published soon! I’ve dedicated my whole life to music and I can’t see myself working with other than that. 2020 is just the beginning. instagram.com/kaspersvare facebook.com/kaspersvaredk #BuzzMusic

  • The Scoop on Declan Sheehy-Moss’ Creative Process and Recent EP

Declan Sheehy-Moss has dedicated much of his education to music and developing his skills as a musician. At The New England Conservatory, he studied Jazz Performance, and during his high school years, he wrote songs for the New Music Ensemble. The songs he wrote for his high school ensemble went on to make his first three singles which were released once he began working in music production. Declan has produced his singles in his dorm room at the New England Conservatory, using only his computer and his imagination to create music. Most recently, he has released an EP titled, “Things Do That”, and he is currently working on a second EP scheduled for release late 2020. “Don’t Belong,” by Declan Sheehy-Moss, is a more unconventional track, spanning multiple genres and sound types. He mixes electronic, funk, Indie, and pop to create a quirky and unpredictable track that keeps listeners engaged by switching ideas constantly. The song consists of a variety of unique sounds, including synths and electronic wind instruments. It starts with a fast tempo and plays around with different speeds, an interesting and fun twist on the typical song. The lyrics are minimal and serve to accompany the musical aspects of the song where they have been edited to parallel the sounds of some of the electronic instruments. Keep your eyes peeled for Declan’s new EP later this year! Check out “Don’t Belong,” by Declan Sheehy-Moss here. Hey Declan Sheehy-Moss! Welcome to BuzzMusic, and thank you for sharing “Don’t Belong” with us! What would you say are three things you want listeners to take away from listening to this track? Thank you for listening! Honestly, I just want people to reach in and find the part of themselves that feels insecure or like they don’t belong in the environment they’re currently in. That’s how I was feeling when I wrote most of this song. It’s about knowing that we all have these feelings and that they will inevitably pass. A pretty simple message, but I was really trying to find the music that expressed the mood I was feeling and that wasn’t as easy. Have you found that your Jazz Performance education has influenced your songwriting? How have you grown as an artist since you first started songwriting in junior year of high school? For sure! I think one of the most important things about wanting to go out there and create is knowing what has been created already and how to build off that. Having a good strong base of traditional jazz knowledge has definitely given me a better idea of what I want to write and the possibilities included. I think that’s part of how I’ve grown, having only been exposed to so much music by my Junior year. Really having time to practice, listen, and reflect gives you a better understanding of how your music fits into everything and furthermore, what you want to do with it. Who is one artist that you find yourself drawing inspiration from the most? Have you always been drawn to such a variety of genres? Louis Cole has been one of my biggest inspirations over the last two or three years. He seems to have a way of turning generic pop chord progressions into really funky, electronic-sounding tunes with some sort of twist. He also has an emphasis on really in-time music. He’s a drummer so everything is usually super locked in. I think the genre-crossing also has a lot to do with studying Jazz, because the roots of Jazz have influence in Blues, Soul, Gospel, Funk, Fusion, and so on. By getting into to all of those genres you discover more, and from those more still, until you really just consider yourself a “music fan” and it’s hard to classify your music in a genre because it doesn’t sound like one thing. So yes, I guess I have always been drawn to music that I liked, regardless of genre. Thank you for chatting with us today, Declan! Can you share any details about your EP that is currently in the works? Thanks so much for having me! The songs for the next EP are pretty much done, but I want to spend a long time getting the mixes just right. It’s seeming like this one's going to be a lot softer and more in-your-feels. I’m aiming for a December 2020 release! instagram.com/declan_sax facebook.com/declan.sheehymoss #BuzzMusic

  • Bolshiee Brings Her Alt-Pop Sound in “Dance in the Rain”

Originally from Luxembourg, Bolshiee brings a dark, alt-pop sound to the scene with her song, "Dance In The Rain". The track begins with beautifully sustained whole tones that give the song a dark and almost eerie feel. A string line is introduced about halfway through, adding an element of depth and balancing the higher tones of the song. Not only is the music beautiful and haunting but Bolshiee’s voice compliments the strings. Her lower register at the beginning of the song is subtly warm. She then switches to an airless falsetto tone that compliments the full tones of the string line. It’s ethereal. Bolshiee’s lyrics are especially relatable to people going through a difficult relationship and having to learn how to be okay on their own. The calming music and relatable lyrics of “Dance In The Rain” are well worth a listen and deserve your attention. Listen to “Dance In The Rain” here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Bolshiee! You have a very unique stage name! What's the story behind "Bolshiee"? Thank you for having me! Long story short my last name is Bolshakova, which is Russian so it's already very unique, and "Bolshiee" is one of the nicknames I've had since high school. People started knowing me for my nickname rather than my first name and I got so used to it that I decided to use it for my music. So all props to my friends! You’re originally from Luxembourg, how did you get your start in music and make your way over to Los Angeles? I always wanted to be a musician but never thought it was possible since I grew up in a tiny country where the entertainment industry is pretty much non-existent and due to the small population and everyone being in each other's business, doing something out of the norm was very intimidating as it lead to immediate judgment. I started playing the piano at the age of five and didn't enjoy my teacher's approach to teaching it so it became very dreadful and turned into some sort of obligation rather than passion. At the age of 12 my friend Lola, who was a singer herself, introduced me to the acoustic guitar. I would lock myself in my room for HOURS practicing just so I would be able to accompany myself while singing. Her and I started making cover videos and it basically all started there. I started busking every Sunday, with her and later on other friends of mine. I actually moved to Los Angeles solely for acting. I continued playing in my bedroom while doing open mics here and there because I didn’t really believe in myself enough and it wasn’t until two years ago that one of my friends sat me down one night and gave me this whole life-changing speech that finally turned the switch for me. “Dance In The Rain” has a bit of a different feel from the other tracks you’ve released. What made you want to write this song? Did your writing process change at all? "Dance In The Rain" was one of those 4am kind of songs. I wrote it back in October of 2018 I believe, and we finished the track that same month. As mentioned earlier, acting is another huge passion of mine and I imagined this song being part of a movie while writing it, which gave it its cinematic feeling I hadn't incorporated in my previous releases. I love mixing both worlds, which we more thoroughly explored at the beginning of last year and it will be very apparent in my upcoming music. What can we expect to see from you in 2020? Definitely more music and more live shows, that is all I will say for now! instagram.com/bolshiee facebook.com/bolshiee #BuzzMusic

  • Get Lost in a Psychedelic Dream With The Links

The Links are a group that formed in the early 2010s who just recently released their newest single titled “Made For Life”. “Made For Life” is an atmospheric single with psychedelic elements and electrifying guitar chords fused with a soulful bass to create this unique experience that you’re astonished by. Listening to “Made For Life” you instantly become drawn into the song with its stellar arrangements. The vocal resonance in “Made For Life” was hauntingly chilling but spellbinding. It was augmented but magnetic. Every component to “Made For Life” is sonically riveting. “Made For Life” is so panoramic in dimensions that you become compelled by what else The Links has to offer. Their entire project was bewitching and unforgettable. The Links have the ability to showcase different components to their artistry because as fascinated we were, we took a listen to “Shattered Dreams”. “Shattered Dreams” had this 1970 Las Vegas vibe. Long drive to a casino with hallucinatory elements. “The Long Drive Home” showcased the bass guitar intricate arrangements with a more smooth-jazz introduction. The piano melody fused with the bass guitar at the beginning of this song takes you onto this calming journey before The Links experimental vocals transition in to keep the psychedelic-rock aspect in-tact. Their entire project was mesmerizing. “Made For Life” will undeniably become a hit with the right promotion. Listen to “Made For Life” by The Links here. Welcome to BuzzMusic, The Links! In what ways were you able to shift your sound from the small disbandment that occurred? Did you discover any new elements of your artistry through this experience? We’ve played with a handful of drummers by this point, but the last one we parted ways with was the main one to really record on our albums & stuff, so having a final farewell there was going to be a big deal in some way as far as how we sounded.  There was a brief moment where I’d just be going back to the literal one-man-band territory but quite the opposite happened & I think we’re stronger both live and in the studio then we’ve possibly ever been.  “Made for Life” & “Shattered Dreams” on this new release capture the actual live energy of the band in a way we’ve only really been able to do a few times before. Let’s talk about your song “Made For Life”. The atmospheric production creates images in our heads. What was your vision for this song and how would you describe your creative process towards the production of this? We basically wanted to make a “pseudo-Bond theme,” and I think we pulled it off pretty well here.  At some point while playing the song as a full band we got these little pre- and post-chorus sections that just kept getting crazier & crazier as far as the synchronization between the drums & guitar until it felt like some kind of off-the-rails excursion we just had to hold on to ‘til the end.  It might be my favorite song to play live right now, save for maybe “Lola” and another new one we have called “Calice” [pronounced “callous.”]  Might actually be the single most dynamic song in our canon as of now. What is the meaning behind the lyrics in “Made For Life”? Can you tell us your songwriting approach towards this single and what inspired you to write it? It’s about having the world at your feet and screwing it up, but somehow still having the time of your life anyway.  I came up with most of the general chord progressions on an acoustic guitar in New Orleans, though I may have ripped off some of the verse stuff from something Troy showed me a few months prior. What can we expect to see next from The Links throughout 2020? We’re currently doing a relatively short-run tour through the south-central US, though ideally, we can grow that little travel circle as well as getting some of the newer stuff recorded soon – ideally our next full-length won’t be too far off! facebook.com/thelinksusa instagram.com/thelinksusa twitter.com/thelinksusa #BuzzMusic

  • Nari Dela Rosa Delivers A Masterful Single With Poetically Driven Lyrics, “Want That”

Nari Dela Rosa. Get used to the name because you’ll be hearing more from her after she releases her intricate and complex single, “Want That”.  “Want That” is a playful single with its contextual elements in the instrumentation. Nari Dela Rosa gives us a detailed sense of wordplay, allowing our imagination to roam while listening to the song. We love the different components to “Want That” which makes this song what it has become. Beginning with the production, “Want That” has a jazzy vibe that fuses with lo-fi elements and a more trendy refreshing twist. It is not only relaxing but scenic and lush. Nari Dela Rosa’s vocal resonance is top-flight and reliable with her eclectic energy. “Want That” was limitless as well as mystical. It has this suspenseful aura that intrigues us. “Want That” is the perfect song we can add to our playlist when we seek an imaginative musical experience. Nari Dela Rosa gives you a visionary lyrical description of love. She is an incredible new artist. Her unique sound keeps you captivated while the lyrics provide a story to follow. Listen to “Want That” by Nari Dela Rosa here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Nari Dela Rosa! Three years ago you released your debut single titled “Summer’s Day”. In what ways have your sound and artistry evolved since then? Did you experiment with any new components in “Want That”? Hey guys! Thank you for having me, its a pleasure. I have definitely learned and studied my craft a lot deeper than when I released 'summers day'. I took the time to really learn what my sound is, my writing style along with adding layers to my sound such as harmonies and riffing. When it came to writing 'want that' I wanted to create a melodic intimate vibe something that was completely opposite to summer's day. I was learning my voice more and more during that time so I wanted to challenge my self a little more and really convey the emotion I was feeling when writing it. “Want That “ was a lyrically poetic track that we really appreciated. Can you detail to us the vision you had for this single and the theme you were aiming for? The vision I had when I writing 'want that' was definitely love. I was in the beginnings of a romantic relationship so I am falling in love hard and that is the type of emotion I wanted to convey. When people listen to that song I wanted it to take them to a place of love with that special person in your life whether it was past, present, or future love. The muse for that song is actually my fiance now so that song will always hold a special place in my heart. How did you create the perfect environment for you to write “Want That”? Did you have any specific songwriting approaches to this single? Honestly, I can adapt myself to any environment that I am in and just write so I can't say there was a specific environment in writing this song. I went to my producer's apartment and as he was making the beat I was writing to the song, to date that is the quickest song I had written within one session. My approach in writing this song was poetic so its funny that you guys picked up on that. That is how I approach all of my songs, I love to write and when I finally gave myself a chance in music I was like “wow I can put my poems to music and make people feel something in their soul for a living, this is amazing!!” You have an individual style that intrigued us while listening to “Want That”. Are there any artists you would consider as influences or inspirations for you? Thank you for that, I try to think out of the box and show my individuality through my music. Aaliyah is my number one influence/inspiration due to the fact that still to this day no one has been able to recreate her sound or her style. Not that anyone would ever really try because everyone is different but I can honestly say no one has ever done it like her. Her voice and figure remind me a lot of mines, she has a crooner type of voice so you don't expect the high notes that she would put in her songs and that gives me the inspiration to take my vocals even further than I have in my previous work. Rihanna is another artist I really admire simply because she is so herself without caring what people think, along with the fact that she is a fellow islander such as myself and if she made it so can I. We need more island girl musicians in the music industry. What can we expect to see from Nari Dela Rosa throughout 2020? 2020 will be the year of Nari so you will be hearing new music from me. I will be releasing a single in the springtime along with the release of my second EP later this year. Long story short you should be expecting music, music, and more music. I am excited for what this year has to bring creatively for me, bring it on! I am ready for the world to really get to know who Nari is. instagram.com/naritheartist #BuzzMusic

Her substantial songwriting skills are evident in “Alone”. This is an accessible single for people who appreciate fresh harmonies and stylish arrangements. “Alone” had a polished vocal delivery, and her voice shifts the listener into a calm, relaxed state. “Alone” is a complete vibe. It is the kind of song that can be added to a playlist of vibe artists like Kehlani, Summer Walker, etc. This feel-good single is composed of delightful acoustics that lies beneath the soulful drum loop in the production. Despite the appealing arrangements, the message behind this song is captivating. “Alone” is a comforting single that provides support to those who feel isolated from their private struggles. Jayaira reminds the listener that they are not alone; she offers this optimistic song to enhance the lives of others. Listen to “Alone” by Jayaira here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Jayaira! Can you tell us a bit about where you’re from? How was it growing up and how did you discover your love for music? Thank you. I was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, but I was raised in Atlanta,ga. Growing up I always wanted to find my place, figure out who I was and I saw myself in various types of music. I decided that I wanted to be a successful recording artist when I was 7 years old and wrote my first song about Winnie The Pooh, but my first performance at church and love became clear after I got a standing ovation, 8 years old. I fell in love with the feeling. You have a nice vocal tone that sounds natural. Would you consider yourself a naturally skilled vocalist or did you take any lessons that may have enhanced your vocal caliber? I would say that yes, I am a naturally skilled vocalist, pretty much going off raw talent. I will be taking voice lessons soon though. “Alone” was a beautiful song with an optimistic message. What inspired you to write this piece? How were you able to personally relate to the meaning of this single? “Alone” was inspired by a guy that I was dating, he would literally never answer the phone or communicate that he was busy. I have finally broken that terrible habit. Personally, I no longer do this, but I knew others would relate to it, so I went on and wrote it. What were some challenges you may have faced while creating “Alone” and how were you able to overcome the obstacle? Honestly, the challenges I always face when writing is writing melodies within the melodies I'm hearing in the beat. I also do not like to copy all the trends that are always out, so the challenge again is writing something fresh, new, and nobody has heard. What can we expect to see from you throughout 2020? In 2020, I will make a name for myself! More TV appearances, growth, and best of all MORE MUSIC. instagram.com/jayairaofficial #BuzzMusic

  • Alexcusemy Drops New Unique Rap Track, A Must Listen!

Alexcusemy, originally from Houston, Texas, and now located in St. Louis, is a producer/rapper who will surprise you. Alexcusemy uses his creativity and skills as a producer to create unique rap songs with influences from various genres, including hip hop, electronic, and jazz. He focuses on darker, somber themes for his music, which also sets him apart from the majority of rap songs. In 2019, Alexcusemy produced his first single alongside producer/rapper Osiris Marshall, which has now reached 3k streams. In just one year, Alexcusemy has started producing his own songs and developing his own personal style. Alexcusemy’s latest release “Vapormaxes In The Snow,” displays his non-traditional rap style. The song is quite short and attention-grabbing, and the influences of jazz and hip hop are quite prevalent. There is a heavy focus on piano, using unique rhythm patterns and fast runs, a different and funky accompaniment for a rap song. His lyrics deal with struggles of addiction, and the emotional side effects that accompany addiction.   He sings “It’s just me up in the snow”, showing the lonely and depressive side of addiction. “Vapormaxes In The Snow” shows that Alexusemy can use his production skills to explore his creative side. Listen to “Vapormaxes In The Snow” here. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Alexcusemy! Tell us a little bit about “Vapormaxes In The Snow”, and how long is the production process for a typical track? "Vapormaxes In The Snow" is a song that someone who feels alone could relate to. There's a lot of self-loathing, that I laugh about now, going on in that song. I wrote it in January 2019. A lot has changed for the better since then. It's a short and sweet song. I'm rapping around the beat instead of with the beat if that makes sense. When the piano is riffing, I'm not rapping or I'm rapping a long syllable. It kind of gives me that jazz room feel. I envision myself in a dark piano bar venting to the crowd when I listen to that song. The composition stage of this song was typical for me, time wise. It took less than two hours to compose. Recording the vocals took 2 takes. I had to get the emotion right in my voice for this one. I needed the people to feel me. Everything after composition took about 2 hours tops. Shout out Ryan Ethos @ Bunkr. He recorded me. He was a part of the creative process as well. Does “Vapormaxes In The Snow” draw influence from your own life? Where do you typically find inspiration for your songs? "Vapormaxes In The Snow" came about as I moved to St. Louis from Houston.  My social situation dramatically changed as I went from having a close-knit group of friends to knowing virtually no one in St. Louis. I used to have a bad habit of vaping and I was reflecting on my struggle with that in addition to the changes social scenery around me. Also, Vapormaxes are my favorite shoes and they are my go-to when I need to throw on a pair of shoes. So the title "Vapormaxes In The Snow" is representative of me being in this new environment, St. Louis, where it snows a lot. I typically find inspiration from my songs internally. I'm not an outwardly emotional person, I'm more of an introverted thinker but the emotions are still very much there inside of me. Music, for me, is a creative and emotional way to get them out. You mentioned that you produced your first single in 2019. Have you always known you wanted a career in the music industry, or is this something you recently began pursuing? Music is in my blood as cliche as that sounds. My dad was a college radio station DJ and a member of a collegiate band. So, I got my love for different types of music from him. He tried teaching me piano as a kid. I had no interest as a kid but as I got older, I tried out guitar. My fine motor skills suck so that didn't work out. However, I obviously picked up making beats. That happened in high school when I heard the instrumental song "Wavriel" by Suicideyear. That beat changed my life. I dropped music for a while until I had a bad breakup in January 2017. I started selling beats on Instagram a year later and through Instagram, I met a couple people who gave me tips and tricks on music composition and mixing/mastering. They also encouraged me to take risks with music and to do things that haven't been done before or extensively. So this little run I'm having with music has been in the works since really 2012 or 2017, depending on how you count. It was a pleasure chatting with you, Alexcusemy! Do you have upcoming plans for the promotion of “Vapormaxes In The Snow”? Yes I have plans for promotion. I know someone who has a degree in internet marketing and we have something arranged. However, that doesn't mean that I'll exclusively work with him. instagram.com/alexcusemy #BuzzMusic

Ito and the Moonlight Hippies are ready to take you on an explorative journey with their new release, “Shine”. “Shine” is a song with an atmospheric arrangement that paints vivid images of a journey through warm key melodies in the instrumentation and soft vocal delivery. An amazing characteristic of “Shine” is the meaning behind the lyrics. “Shine” was written by Ito based on an awakening he had while coming out of a dark time. The uplifting vibe throughout “Shine” compliments the lyrics and the meaning of the song. “Shine” has a spiritual aspect that curates exuberant and vibrant energy presented through the delicate guitar and poignant hook. “Shine” is the kind of song that’s meant to give us hope. Its positive aura projected onto the listener is perfect for when times get rough. The concept of “Shine” is personal to many people who go through emotional lows but comes out feeling more emotionally, mentally and physically stronger. Ito and the Moonlight Hippies did a fantastic job of showcasing their chemistry and optimism with a relaxed delivery. “Shine” is a notable single that will eloquently pierce your heart with a sense of uplifting desire to reach your spiritual awakening. Listen to “Shine” by Ito and the Moonlight Hippies here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Ito and the Moonlight Hippies!  How has the journey been so far for you? What has been the most monumental moment in your career thus far? This musical journey has been overall extremely beautiful. Every path has trials and challenges such as internal judgment and second-guessing important decisions, but with clear intentions and a strong support system, this has been a dream come true so far. I get to do what I love with my brother, and two of my best friends! What more could I ask for? The most monumental moment that happened in our career was our show at the HeartFire festival in upstate New York. it opened us up to play louder on a bigger stage with new people listening to our music! Sharing the headlines with Matisyahu was such a treat. We loved the humanitarian aesthetic in your single “Shine”. Were there any key melodies with the instrumentation you were seeking to ensure a more uplifting vibe? The song is written with very basic chord structures and melodic lines. The Ukulele has such a sound of peace, that when you listen to it, for whatever reason, you just feel happier. I'm not sure what it is about the instrument but its true. There is a line that opens the song that Is fast-paced and high pitched to really get the listeners' attention. I guess the metaphorical purpose of that is to encourage us to "snap out of it" or "Wake up" in a sense from the system subconsciously hypnotizing us into surrendering our own inner spark. So many of us struggle with depression and other emotional and spiritual hardships. Create more. Anyway, yes we are starting from the ground up to bring some hope to the table. How would you describe your songwriting approach towards “Shine”? I almost always end up starting a new song with the main chorus. When that is done and beautiful I usually build the verse and various other sections around it. Shine was a really fun one to write because it was written in a matter of about 2 hours. Completely. When the chorus was written I was able to openly and vulnerably channel the rest of it. Writing songs is an incredible thing for me because, really what it is, is the songs are writing to me. The songs are singing through me. To elaborate on that, My hands, my eyes, and my voice are used in Shine, but all I really did was channel the universe, or something, that just made it pop right out. There are no erase marks on the original lyric page. it all flowed out in one sitting exactly the way it was supposed to. I approach creativity without a desire to control what happens. Just let it flow man. In what ways did you challenge yourself with the creative process of “Shine” and what did you gain from the experience? The song just came out in one sitting, but it is a challenging song for me vocally. The melody is beautiful but there are high notes I added later in the song to push the envelope of my own ability. Vocal stamina is definitely a challenge in this tune. Also with a ukulele, you don't really expect it to be the lead instrument in a powerful rock song like Shine. That was fun to experiment with. Ive always wanted to break down walls that we put up and boxes that we keep creativity in. with all this, I gained a deeper appreciation for taking care of my voice. Shine is such a powerful and symbolic song for me, so I really want to show up every time we play it. you know what I mean? Thank you for sharing with us Ito and the Moonlight Hippies! Knowing you’re on a musical journey filled with spirituality and love, what can we expect from your next destination? Love is totally everything and we can always use more of it in our lives. No one would disagree with that. So hopefully the next destination for me is to share an entire album with this message of unity. Then we would love to take to the road and spread this music around North America. Look, the dream is always to share music and share moments of joy with people, but sometimes it's hard. Rather, most of the time life is hard and we all struggle and suffer. This song Shine aims to shatter a false truth that we are doomed inside ourselves. We are the light in the world, and we have the ability to come together and change everything. Shifting our collective consciousness towards a more sustainable future for generations to come. Anything coming next will be directly tied to that vision no matter what. There are brighter days to come! instagram.com/ito_moonlighthippies #BuzzMusic
