  • Listen to Jesse Blake Rundle’s Poetic Single, “Nomad Exquisite”

Jesse Blake Rundle is a self-taught musician, singer, and guitarist. Originating from Idaho, Jesse can be found working on several new music projects, writing poetry and strumming his guitar on the front shop. The unconventional tuning of this guitar results in an idiosyncratic style. Rundle’s inspiration for this debut, "Radishes and Flowers" coming in the new year are features from the work of famous poet, Wallace Stevens in his book- Harmonium. This 12-track album is an indie-folk cycle. “Nomad Exquisite” is the first single from the "Radishes and Flowers" project. This song is a collective of lyrics provided by Wallace Stevens, vocals/guitar/synth and percussion from Jesse himself along with the addition of trombone, percussion and bass from; Chris Ross, Jordon Harris, and Nate Agenbroad. For those of you who are not familiar with the original works of Wallace Stevens. The lyrics are as follows; “As the immense dew of Florida Brings forth The big-finned palm And green vine angering for life, As the immense dew of Florida Brings forth hymn and hymn From the beholder, Beholding all these green sides And gold sides of green sides, And blessed mornings, Meet for the eye of the young alligator, And lightning colors So, in me, come flinging Forms, flames, and the flakes of flames.” Rundle’s take on this poem takes you to the everglades of Florida, depicting a picturesque landscape. Opening with a foot-tapping, upbeat rhythm. What is interesting about this song is that the artist is able to take this already beautiful words and pose an alternative view to their meaning. Both tempo and collective instruments paint a wonderful story. Listen to “Nomadic Exquisite” here on SoundCloud. #BuzzMusic

  • M’Leigh and the Moo Moos Fun and Entertaining Single “Summer’s Over”

Welcome to the musical world of M’Leigh and the Moo Moos. These captivating young women fuse folk influences with a unique spin on indie style. M’Leigh grew up in Byron Bay and currently resides in Sydney. This singer/ songwriter grew up listening to her parents' records of; Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, The Rolling Stones, and Simon and Garfunkel. M’Leigh and the Moo Moos music is rhythmic, carefree and lighthearted. Although, having to battle some health concerns the lead singer continues to push through and produce amazing music. “Summer’s Over” is a chill melody about leaving winter and escaping to the sunny beaches of California, “where the pretty people are”. The lyrics paint a picture-perfect getaway. It’s an enjoyable, smooth tune with a catchy chorus, “summers over now its time to move to California”. Half-way through the song M’Leigh demonstrates that she is no newbie to preforming with a clean mellow solo and perfect harmony from the rest of her bandmates. This track is a must add to your summer road trip playlist! Her voice is relaxed and carefree, a perfect combination to get you singing and dancing this Summer. We’re excited to see the future success of these talented women. Listen to "Summer's Over" here. Hi M’Leigh and the Moo Moos. Welcome to BuzzMusic. Thank you for your light-hearted and folksy demo, “Summer’s Over.” Can you tell us what inspired you ladies to come together? We all meet studying music at different times, so when it came to making the band I (M’leigh), wanted an all-female band, having all these amazing women know my music around me I just asked them all one by one and then the band was made. Who are your greatest influences in helping define your sound in this track? At the time I wrote this song I was playing a lot of Nirvana on my guitar, which I do feel comes out in the music. Also, push the melody for me. I was going for something outside what I normally do. “Summer’s Over” is very chatty and rhythmic, how would you say this song relates to your other music? Well, when I write music the Drums are one of the first things I write for. When it comes to the band.  So I feel most of my upbeat songs are very drum-driven and that's something you can hear in any M’leigh and the Moo Moos song. How do you feed your passion for music? For me I write all the time, it's my own journal I guess, as a band we all enjoy making the music together so we are always wanting to push the limits with our live set up more and more. We want the audience to really get in on the music and have a good time. We really do enjoy putting a good live show on for our fans. Thank you for chatting with us and we hope to hear more from you ladies. Can you tell us/ your fans what the future holds for M’leigh and the Moo Moos? We have just finished recording in the studio and working on some music video clips. So the EP will be out in the new year along with some fun video clips. Looking to tour if all goes well! facebook.com/Mleighmusic instagram.com/mleighandthemoomoos_ #BuzzMusic

  • Behind the Scenes of Nicole Haber’s New Music Video for "Happy Pill"

Nicole Haber from Ontario, Canada discovered her passion for playing and creating music at a very young age and has been singing her heart out ever since. She is self-taught on piano and guitar and is heavily involved in the writing and production of her songs. Her love for music has allowed her to venture into the world of collaboration, where she works with other artists and DJ’s on filming and editing, mixing, and production. Her live performances are raw and engaging, which has allowed her to travel and perform for her fans. She is constantly looking to better herself and her artistic skills, which has gained her a platform that will no doubt bring her career to new heights. Nicole’s new song ‘Happy Pill’ is beautifully portrayed in the music video directed by Natasha Hermann. The lyrics allude to a battle with mental illness, which is mirrored in the music video. It features Nicole going about her daily life, simultaneously being followed by a distorted version of herself, which she is struggling to accept. The song begins softly, with the focus on Nicole’s voice and acoustics. She then makes a transition to a much darker tone, using drums and electronic sounds to fit with the mood of the song. ‘Happy Pill’ is authentic and hard-hitting, and a fantastic new release from Nicole Haber. Listen to "Happy Pill" here. It’s a pleasure to be chatting with you today Nicole! ‘Happy Pill’ is a wonderfully written song, can you tell us more about the inspiration behind it? Happy Pill was written from a very vulnerable place. One thing I was told over and over in school was "you are enough", that has always stuck with me, but now I find it hard to feel like your enough when you not doing the things you want to be doing. Every day I see people hitting their goals and achieving their dreams and though I am so proud of them, I can't help but think, why not me. Am I not good enough? Is it just that social media makes everyone look good? All I knew was that the demon in my head was ripping me to shreds... I mean it still does I just know how to shut it up when it's not pushing me in the right direction.  So when I wrote Happy Pill it was coming from a place of acceptance. I don't know what I'm doing all the time, I don't know if I'm gonna ever get what I want or feel the way I want, but I don't have to know. I just have to live every day, accepting all the situations that come my way and try to be my happiest. Life is not made to be easy or good for that matter, we are confronted with problems 24/7 and it's how you handle them and turn them into a positive that makes your life better. I enjoyed watching your music video as well, how did the idea come together? What does ‘Happy Pill’ represent? Originally, I wanted the video to represent the effects of youth taking Adderall and Ritalin and how it tampered with the mind. I was a child that had to go through that and it really sucked. I remember I was 13 telling my mom I was addicted to the drug and needed it to help me sleep, so I told her I wanted to stop taking it. But I knew it would be hard to get my point across without being insensitive. So instead, I wanted to make something a bit more satirical, with a bit of humor in it all. The video explains a human being forced to mask their mind with pills. You wake up feeling sad...take a pill, You feel uncomfortable...take a pill, life isn't what it seems...you get the idea...take a pill. These pills just further us from reality, we take them and it hides what we feel and makes us black out parts of our world. We are so quick to say something is wrong with us and all we do is say "take this it will numb the pain", but really it just confuses us and fogs up the facts even more. I wanted this to be a serious PSA, that no one is alone. A lot of people feel like this and it may not always get seen, but it's there. You mentioned you wrote your first song at age 6, that’s quite impressive! What did you write your first song about, and how have your writing sessions changed as you’ve grown up? This is always fun to talk about. I was born and raised Catholic, more agnostic now, but the first song I wrote was called "Angel" (written as Angle in my songbook. I always get a laugh outta that.) I was being bullied in school and I wrote the song as a screw you to all my haters. I told them I was gonna be an angel and I would help God (by not letting any of them into heaven.) Kids, am I right? But, my writing has changed a lot over the years. Although I keep the same intention, that my songs are my diary, they will always be my inner thoughts and feelings and I draw them often from my life experiences. What has changed is the style in which I write, I write every song as a poem or story, with a clear beginning, middle and end. I try to use words that aren't often used, play with the structures of the typical songwriting, and make something unique. I'm always trying to switch it up and make something different. You have such a passion for all areas of music, do you think you’ll ever stray from recording to focus more on writing and production? Writing may be, production not so much. I'm not the greatest with technology, I try my best. I do love every aspect of the arts though. I've done acting, dancing, modeling, singing, songwriting, playing instruments, and try my best with the mix and production side, but I always come back to singing and songwriting. There is a part of me that will never let go of that. I have really gotten into teaching vocals lately, I have been teaching a few friends of mine and I really like inspiring them and giving them the knowledge that I have with it. Thank you so much for talking with us at BuzzMusic! Are you planning any live shows in the near future to promote your new music? No, thank you so much for having me. • Singer Danny Fitch Represents Versatility to Its Fullest Extent

Danny Flitch is a singer and songwriter, that's bringing a refreshing touch of retro-soul to the indie-rock genre with his debut EP “Future Self”. He’s an artist, who's been steeped in coastal vibes and accented with rich horns. His track “Before I Leave You” invites you to sit shotgun as flitch takes a nostalgic road trip up the coast. Danny's vocal style is unmatched! I mean, it’s quite difficult to compare yourself to Danny Flitch as he undoubtedly stands in his own lane. However, his vocal and melodic style nods to the classic soul and R&B sound of the 1960s and 70s. Artfully combining this with the acoustic folk sound of the same era, alongside some contemporary greats like Adam Levine, John Mayer, and more, Danny Flitch has curated an authentic style of his own. Danny Flitch is an intricate artist, whose sound you won't find on your everyday playlist, so you really need to check him out! He recently premiered an amazing video on the 6th of November. He has all the great traits that a striving newcomer must be equipped with in order to succeed and we’re abundantly excited to see what’s next for him. Give a listen to "Before I Leave You" here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Danny Fitch! What ultimately gave you the motivation to pursue music and why? My first job out of college was teaching music at a Preschool in Los Angeles. I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life but knew that I loved playing guitar and I loved singing. Teaching music forced a guitar into my hands every day which led to me buying my first electric guitar, which led to greater confidence, which led to me starting a cover band, which led to me writing better and better songs. Then earlier this year, I released my debut EP of original tunes and have been writing ever since. Can you describe to our readers your creative process? How do you manage to make the perfect song? It’s different with every song. Some songs start with guitar chords, which I’ll loop and sing various melody lines. That first day, I’ll sit there and sing for 5-10 minutes of melody ideas, etc singing gibberish nonsense. I’ll then listen to them in the car throughout the day and pick out the lines that connect to me. Then it’s all about just sitting down and finishing the tune. Keeping that balance between emotionally connecting to it without making it too precious which results in fear and ultimately not finishing the tune. What’s been the most monumental single of your “Future Self” and why? 'Make Me Wait’ is the song that brings me the most joy (Marie Kondo style). It’s just got a bouncy vibey feel to it that reminds me of road trips up the coast. Windows down, joint in hand, sun shining, just vibing. It’s also been the best received and my most popular tune so that doesn’t hurt either. Can you recall some challenges you may have faced as an artist and in what ways have you overcame these obstacles? Finding one specific ’sound’ is something that I continue to struggle with. The industry wants to put you in a box that it can package all neatly and sell, whereas I find myself gravitating towards many different genres and styles of music. It’s that elusive life long search for something that's truly authentic and new and bold all at the same time. How I overcome this is by just keeping at it and trusting that with time, it will all come together. How would you describe your songwriting approach Danny Fitch? I write very playfully. I love singing gibberish. I love finding funky lines and grooves that bring on 'the feels'. I love starting with one small idea and going down the rabbit hole to discover what the song is trying to say to me. I love collaborating with other artists to hear what they have to say. Can you hint to us of the music you may release in 2020? I’ve got some classic singer-songwriter love songs that are coming out in 2020 and on the complete opposite side of the spectrum, I’ve been gravitating towards much funkier dance beats while messing around with the Boss RC-505 loop station for live looping performances. Check out my Instagram: @Danny_Fitch to see my progression and continued pursuit of vibes and grooves. facebook.com/DannyFitchMusic instagram.com/danny_fitch twitter.com/DannyFitchMusic #BuzzMusic

  • Artist Recap: Ay’s Impressive 2019 Year!

Our favorite soulful songstress and independent artist, Ay has been making her name known throughout Boston, MA and beyond this year. Her aim as an artist is to create a soul penetrating noise that sticks with the listener long after the songs have come to an end. Composing and performing all her life, Ay finds it is her purpose to share her music and creations his her ever-growing and loyal fanbase. Ay’s singles this year include “Mayberry Heart”, “You Lost It All”, and “Fake”. All were well received by listeners and fans and further pave the way for Ay’s unique artistry. Each release has earned her a music award nomination including Best Pop Act Of the Year for "Mayberry Heart" at the New England Music Awards, and two nominations at the Hollywood Music in Media Awards for both "Fake" and "You Lost It All" in the soul and alternative categories! Yet another reason we’re shining our artist spotlight on Ay is for her impressively creative music video for “You Lost It All”! The whole project feels like an old-school short film and is meant to take place in a 40s era. Absolutely worth a watch and we can’t wait to see more visuals from Ay in the future. Currently, Ay is hard at work in LA at Studio Bopnique preparing to release her full EP produced by Anthony Resta and engineer Karyadi Sutedja, keep an eye on Ay heading into 2020! Listen to Ay’s music here and read more with the rising star below! Hi Ay, welcome back! We're completely captivated by your vocals, you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your single “Mayberry Heart"?! Wow, thank you so much!!  My intentions for creating “Mayberry Heart” were to explore my own vulnerability by sharing intimate feelings. I wanted to write a personal love letter about a deeply felt connection that wasn’t coming together smoothly. I’m likely not the only one who’s experienced this before so by sharing “Mayberry Heart” I hoped to reach other people who understand. How long have you been making music and releasing it to the public, and what’s one of the biggest lessons you’ve learned as an artist in recent years? How did you apply this to your most recent single “Fake”? I’ve been making music since I was about 3 but started to release public YouTube covers in 2010 and my original music in 2013. I’ve learned since first releasing music publicly to let go of the fear of being authentic.  I was involved in competitions and the music industry from the age of 8.  The focus then was always someone else’s idea of who I was or what I should sound like to fit a marketable mold. The inspiration for the song “Fake” stems from that place of having to smile in the face of constant critique from those closest to you and ignoring the hurt. Expressing those challenges through music helps me process the emotions I’ve grown through. You've had such a strong love and passion for music at such a young age! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? My confidence in what I do has changed dramatically. Years of performances, vocal training and working in studios on a wide variety of projects have taught me a lot about myself and expanded my skill set.  When I first started out, I felt the industry was searching for a place for me to fit in.  Now I just create art that fits me. Although you always put passion and vulnerability in your lyrics, “You Lost It All” feels deeply personal and raw. Can we expect more of this on your upcoming EP release? OR do you remain versatile? In my upcoming EP, raw feelings and personal accounts are absolutely the focus. You can expect versatility in production and arrangements while still staying true to a soulful and organically blended sound. What predominant message is integrated into your upcoming EP that you hope your listeners take away from it? I wrote these songs coming into an awareness of my own inner conflicts and trying to balance emotional extremes. Everyone and everything has a lighter positive side and a shadow— the works on the EP were inspired by recognizing and sometimes struggling with this duality. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about the much-anticipated EP release? Can we have an official release date? The EP will be available this coming February 2020!! I worked with producer Anthony Resta and engineer Karyadi Sutedja at Studio Bopnique in LA to bring my vision to life. There are some incredible musicians like guitarist Tim Pierce featured on this project as well. Follow me on my social pages to find out more about the release and what else is coming! It's always awesome to talk with you guys and I can’t wait for you to hear what’s next! instagram.com/alex_moccia twitter.com/alex_moccia #BuzzMusic

  • BuzzMusic Exclusive: Melaku's New Music Video, "Ride to Nowhere" Takes You to His Home Roots

In Melaku's new music video for his new song "Ride To Nowhere," he takes you to his home roots at a beach town in Northern California where he was born and raised. Deep inside, being a city kid; fast-talking, fast-thinking go-getter with something to prove, Melaku couldn't wait to escape and take on his life-long passion for music. He moved to the big city of Los Angeles to chase his musical dreams, but circumstances kept landing him back home. After years of running and resistance, Melaku sat down and surrendered, just as the title of his song depicts, being on a ride to nowhere. Singing and walking on the train tracks alongside a beautiful sandy beach, Melaku’s chorus “I’ve been on a ride, a ride to nowhere, I've been on a ride, a ride back here,'' sums up the struggles he has encountered along his musical journey.  A road leading to a dead-end makes it seem like this is it, the ride to nowhere. However, you find Melaku overlooking the water and walking down the road singing and releasing his feelings with such strong passion. Melaku’s music is a combination of modern pop sensibilities, which has been a part of his life since the young age of 13. His sound further developed while attending Columbia University and he began to write Pop and R&B songs. This was a major turning point for his musical career and lead him the opportunity to pitch his songs to various label artists. His current style is a fusion of classic pop, rock and soul music from the 60s and 70s. Listen to "Ride To Nowhere" here. Hey Melaku it's great to have you here with us at BuzzMusic. For someone who has gone through a lot of struggle throughout his career, what would you say has been your biggest challenge and how did you overcome it? Yeah good to be here!  I would say probably the main challenge has been internal. You know, believing that I have what it takes to write, record, produce, and perform my own original work and make an impact with it.  I’ve been on a path to get to a place of self-acceptance and you know, recognizing what I have to offer is...valuable.  I feel like I’m at a really good place now, after a lot of trials and tribulations, and about a million magic moments. How is this newest work different from your previous creations and how has it developed over the years? Hmm. Yeah. This song is along the same lines as my previous releases in terms of vibe and sound, but it’s kind of a concretization of that. I spent many years wondering what my sound was and developing it in the studio and on the stage. I’m always getting closer to it, but I feel like this sound is close as I’ve ever been. Was it difficult to write such an emotionally charged song? Most of the songs I end up keeping are not difficult to write. They come from somewhere “else.” Maybe it’s the universe, maybe it’s some higher aspect of me. I don't know. But the best songs seem to come easy. I think I pretty much just sat down and freestyled this on guitar, and was like; “Oh! Ok, there’s something there.” Haha. But releasing it is a different thing because it’s letting the world know about emotions that are often kept secret. I like how you've incorporated some of your childhood influences. Do you plan on incorporating any modern genres into your future works? I think the influences I grew up provide a foundation for the music I make now. Whether it’s classic soft rock, Motown, am gold, etc. But I definitely incorporate a lot of modern singer-songwriter influences in my writing. You know, Ed Sheeran has had radio hits that are just guitar and a couple of other instruments. I’ve spent a lot of time working as a pop songwriter, and so my songs generally have a contemporary structure. And production-wise, even though the music might sound “natural” I'm actually incorporating a lot of modern technology into the recordings. Given how the song ends, do you plan to stay in California and pursue your music locally? Growing up as a creative in a small town, it’s easy to think the grass is greener elsewhere. Living in bigger cities really prepped me to take the bull by the horns in entrepreneurship, but I don’t see myself living in one again for a while. I like the beach, the mountains, and the lifestyle of my hometown. And I can build a career my way here while staying mobile. Besides, I can always hop on a plane, train, or automobile somewhere else. facebook.com/melakuofficial instagram.com/melakuofficial twitter.com/melakuofficial #BuzzMusic

  • Sashaaa Releases Her Catchy Rythmic Hit "Mezanmi"

Independent artist Sashaaa, born in Miami, Florida, and partially raised on the native island Haiti, has had a strong passion for music since the age of 4 where she was singing and putting on shows for her family. It wasn't until 2016 where she began to record her music professionally with background vocals, which later blossomed to her original work. 2019 was an exceptional year including her artwork being put up for sale and becoming a professional artist and singer. With this came paid performances which lead to the development of her brand. Influenced not only from well-known artists but also through the sounds of her culture. Sasha has a unique way of blending her Caribbean sound with Afro, R&B, and Pop. Sashaaa uses her music to portray a character that is a very positive and empowering woman. She hopes her music brings positive vibes and smiles to everyone along with inspirations and getting people up and dancing. "Mezanmi" is a very catchy rhythmic song with vocals on the point that'll have you swaying and dancing to the music while keeping it on repeat. Sashaaas’ voice is no surprise given the title of the song. For those of you who don’t know, "Mezanmi" is a Haitian expression for exclaiming surprise and interjecting excitement. She not only has a fun personality but also can seamlessly hold a broad vocal range. The outfit was worn by Sashaaa resembles some of her biggest influences including Beyonce and Shakira. I appreciate her incorporating a Caribbean feel to her music video which adds both a playful and exotic feel to her music. Listen to "Mezanmi" here. Hey Sashaaa, it’s great to have you here on BuzzMusic. We love your positive energy and vibe. What were some of the first background vocals you worked on earlier in your career? My first recording studio experience doing background vocals I was living in Boston for undergrad. There I met local rappers who I became friends with. Upon disclosing my aspirations of being a recording artist they took the opportunity for me to collaborate on the music they were working on. After hearing my voice they were eager to add my sultry harmonies to their work. Their work was later streamed on SoundCloud. Given that “Mezanmi” is Haitian slang, can you explain what this word means to you and the deeper meaning of it in your song? I’m Haitian and we speak French Creole which is broken, French. A lot of people confuse Creole and French because of how close the languages are. The biggest difference I find is that Creole is way easier and simple. For example, one word can have many meanings. Mezanmi is an expression that is used quite often in our diction. Mezanmi mostly means (Oh my goodness), but can also mean What!, are u crazy, no way, o lord etc. In the song, I wanted to empathize hate but also emphasize self-love and that expression was perfect. Given that you like to combine Caribbean sound with Afro, R&B, and Pop, can we expect to see any other genres added into your music? I love creating and I love blending genres together it’s magical. I hope to continue expanding my palette as I continue my journey, but in the future, I hope to study jazz and add that element into my music. Who has been the biggest influence on you in creating your sound and personal character? How has this developed over the years? Wow, Beyoncé Beyoncé Beyoncé. She has been not only my biggest role model in music but in character as well.  Beyoncé creates everything, pop, R&B, Afro, country. Like if that’s not an icon I don’t know what is. She is the true definition of what feminism and empowerment is. She carries herself gracefully and humbled. There’s just so much people can learn from her music-related or not. And of course, she is a music genius. A powerhouse, a legend. Ever since I was 6 I remember just dancing and singing to her. She is not only the artist but the woman I strive to be. Now as a professional artist, her influence impacts my sultry sounds my melodies and runs. Her influence reminds me I am capable of creating anything and being anything I want to be. Thanks for chatting with us. We are super excited to hear more. Where can fans go to see your performances live? Fans can follow my Instagram @sashaaaaj and Twitter @sashaaaaaj for performance updates as well as my YouTube channel for live videos Sashaaa J. Thank you so much. Instagram.com/sashaaaaj #BuzzMusic
