  • Hotwork and Harris Mac team up on new single “Dracula”

Chase Rossner, better known as Hotwork, is a singer, songwriter, and producer who was born, bred and based in Los Angeles, California. Teaming up with Brooklyn-based songwriter/producer Harris Mac, Hotwork releases “Dracula”! Harris Mac is currently on a mission to redefine pop music with wabi sabi sonics and lyrics that are experimental and abstract. With the help of analog drums machines and synths from the 80s, Harris delivers a unique sound that is both sonically spectacular and galvanizing. What Hotwork and Harris Mac have built with “Dracula” is a somewhat melancholic, melodically memorable pop track, that walks hand-in-hand with a mildly tropical, almost down-tempo retro aura. There’s a powerful sense of contrast between the two parts, but in the end, they’re undoubtedly sides of the same coin. That groove is hypnotic for its consistency and warmth, for the spacious yet creative web it weaves around you, and Hotwork’s vocals are equally entrancing but in a whole different way. Beautiful, powerful and memorable pop writing but with a definite edge of refreshing perspective and poetry. Similar qualities can be found in the production, and for a collaboration, “Dracula” speaks volumes on behalf of Hotwork and Harris Mac as artists. Hoping for more collabs in the future! Listen to “Dracula” here and read our exclusive interview with Hotwork and Harris Mac below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Chase and Harris! It’s a pleasure to chat with you. Tell us how your collaboration came to fruition? Harris: We met in LA after being connected by our mutual friend Cathedrals. I showed up at Chase’s house just with the idea that we would hang out and jam, but didn’t know we’d be writing a track on the spot. It was a sunny day, we smoked a little weed, then started playing with sounds and immediately got real into it. Chase: Yeaa shout out to Johnny Hwin of Cathedrals for the link up! Truly, a solid dude. We’re loving the new single “Dracula”! What can you tell us about the songwriting process for this one? Chase: So Harris came over to my studio and I busted out this device called the Launchpad. It helps me with limitations in my keyboard playing abilities because you can set a key and a scale and just go to town. I showed him how to use it and he came up with this killer melody that ended up being the backbone for the whole tune. Harris: We started with the beat. Chase and I were messing around with sounds and synth patches and I starting playing out a melody and Chase quickly hopped on it and started adding drums and percussion and other accompaniment. It grew really quickly from there! After a few hours we had a beat done, and then we wrapped up. We left the session feeling really excited with the beat, we knew it was a cool fresh energetic sound. I was only visiting LA for a short while so I headed back to NYC and then we started playing with topline ideas. Did you run into any recording or production challenges along the way? How did you overcome these problems? Harris: For each of us it was our first time collaborating long-distance, using Splice to share sessions and stems. I was writing lyrics one night and randomly got the idea for the hook, Dracula. Then I started writing the lyrics from a point of view as if I were this strange character, a weird soundcloud-emo-rapper-Dracula. We bounced topline ideas back and forth including melodies, lyrics, adlibs, etc. We basically had the beat already done so once we got the lyrics finalized it only took a few back-and-forths to finish it up. It was overall super fast and easy working with Chase. And our first time together too! Chase: Well, once we had the beat we knew we had something good but now we had to finish the tune. There were several different challenges along the way but the biggest one by far was that we are bi-coastal. Harris lives in Brooklyn and I’m in LA so we got on a skype session and worked out some ideas. The song went through a couple iterations before Harris scrapped the original lyrics and sent me the demo that is now “dracula”. We adjusted a few lines, I recorded a bridge and some background vox and the tune was done! All mixed and mastered in my studio apartment next to Canter’s Deli (matzo balls make me better). This new release delivers such an individual sound! What sonic element do you think makes “Dracula” stand out the most? Chase: That keyboard riff out the gate really makes this song stand out for me. The song is really catchy overall and I’m pretty confident that each element stripped down could stand strong on its own. I haven’t heard much latin-esque trap music circulating so I think we created a pretty dope, unique vibe with this one. Harris: Another thing we did was record lots of random foley sounds on the spot. (Foley are any found sounds, i.e. snaps, claps, dropping a pen, closing a cigarette case.) Chase even had some kind of dough cutter on his desk for some reason, and we played with it to create different sounds. We layered a bunch of them in as percussion in the track, which really lends a quirky vibe and an interesting contrast to the trap vibe. Both of you have been in the music industry for a while now, what has been the accomplishment you are most proud of so far? Chase: Getting my last single “Part Time” spun on Sirius XM radio was definitely a huge accomplishment for me (shout out to You Up w/Nikki Glaser). As of lately I’m really proud of the spot I landed with Genies Inc. and Cheetos for their latest Halloween campaign. Harris: Co-producing several Cathedrals tracks, especially “In The Dark.” Also starting my own studio in Brooklyn and becoming a full-time freelance producer, which has allowed me to support myself completely as a musician! Thank you for catching up with us and talking about your new single “Dracula”! What’s next for you both artistically? Can we expect further collaborations? Chase: Definitely expect more collabs from us in the future!! I think we stumbled onto something pretty good here, and it would behoove us to try to make some more fuegoooo. We should have a little video for this tune out by Thursday and I have another single dropping Friday, November 1st called “Sad Story”. Harris: Chase and I will definitely be writing more tunes together. We definitely clicked very effortlessly and it’s rare to connect like that, so easily. I’m currently putting together a new solo-project which could best be described as Childish Gambino meets Flume. I’ll be dropping my next single within a month! www.instagram.com/hotworkmusic www.instagram.com/harrismacmusic #BuzzMusic

  • “Hey Maria” by Sara Ontaneda blends Heavy Subject Matter and Smooth Soulful Vocals

Based in New York City, Sara Ontaneda is an Ecuadorian-American singer/songwriter and a graduate of Berklee College of Music. Sara has been professionally releasing music since 2015 and has an incredible impression repertoire. Her newest single “Hey Maria” dropped and the end of the summer and we’re hooked. Sara continues to tour internationally and is currently working hard on new music! While from the outside there’s a contemporary RnB presentation to the song, there’s more than a little about “Hey Maria” that paints Sara Ontaneda under an original and authentic light. For one, the lyrics walk the line between personal and poetic really well. In addition, there’s a quickly likable and genuine tone to the vocal delivery. You can hear the subtle passion, the heart, and the connection to the words, and this works perfectly with the overall sentiment of the song itself. “Hey Maria” is about women that have been victim of violence and sheds light on how many times, justice is not available to them. There’s a whole lot of emotion here, and this is what “Hey Maria” ism every aspect works hard to portray the weight of domestic violence. Sara Ontaneda’s honesty, and her colorful, contrastingly optimistic soundscape here juxtapose one another in a wonderful way. This is an engaging and catchy tune, but with an undertone of melancholy and misunderstanding. Very well done! Check out “Hey Maria” here and read more with Sara in our interview below! Hey there Sara Ontaneda! Welcome to BuzzMusic! “Hey Maria” is category transforming! Tell us how you came to create this track! Lyric-wise, I wanted to bring more awareness to gender violence and femicide around the world. I was visiting my family in Ecuador and we were watching the news, and they were talking about the alarming rates of femicide in Latin America and the Caribbean. It was so infuriating to see that in many cases, justice wasn't provided for these women. In many cases, people involved would resort to victim-blaming. I really felt the need to write a song about all this, to "heal" myself and also bring awareness to the matter. Sonically, my brother, Sebastian Ontaneda, is a producer and really brought the song to life using 80's synth sounds and R&B grooves. Its the first time I work with a producer, as its really always been me producing my own tracks. The song is definitively catchy but the lyrics hit with impact. How did you intend to connect with your listeners with this particular track?! I wanted to tell the story of a girl who had been a victim of abuse and violence. I chose the name "Maria" because it is a very common name in Latin America and I wanted to show that anybody could be Maria. Many women have reached out to me on social media and talked to me about these issues and even thank me for spreading a message about it. I realized how important it is to have these conversations and how music can be a powerful medium. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics within your new release “Hey Maria”! The song is written from the perspective of Maria's friend, who feels bad that she didn't fight more for her, to bring justice to her, and help her through a difficult time. In the music video, Maria's friends decide to honor her by getting together, paint bruises on their bodies, make signs, and march the streets. With these actions they hope to educate and bring awareness to gender violence. What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? To not release a lot of music all at once. I do take criticism to my advantage. I think we need people keeping us in check. Its important to hear the advice others with more experience have to give you. There is times where you are your best critic and you just have to follow your gut. It was a treat being able to showcase “Hey Maria” on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you have in store for us as listeners! What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world, now that you’ve just released a new single?! I want to keep spreading the word of "Hey Maria" and continue the dialogue. I'm also excited to be working on new music and a possible tour. The overall goal is to continue to make music with the same passion that I have been having since day one and see this thing grow. Give “Bodi Snatcha” a listen here and read more with Mr.Adamsbtw in our exclusive interview below! Hey Mr.Adamsbtw! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? I was born into music, it's not something I really just decided to do. Just about all of my family is musically inclined or artistically inclined. I have an Aunt that used to tour with Rick James overseas in Japan. I have an Uncle that used to be the drummer for Buddy Guy. I also have cousins with beautiful voices. Music is something that is in My DNA. What made me decide to release my music to the world is because I know that my life and the way that I've lived it is relatable. I've gone through some of the same things that you have. The only difference is that I'm able to express it musically. I knew my style, look and personality we're all different and or Special. I just wanted the world to see it, And that's what I did. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Bodi Snatcha”? Anybody can have sex with another person. Anybody can smash another person. I wanted to be a little bit more descriptive. I wanted to describe an actual real life situation, where a Woman was trying to brag to me about what she could do to me in the bedroom..... I just looked at her like...Aight!! I'm'a put it on ya Azz lol. Fair Warning! Lol. Since you’ve been making music for a few years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “Bodi Snatcha”? I think a lot of my early music was based on me trying to quote on quote " make it." You know, the shows, the fans, Making money off of music while doing something that I love. My newest material is me realizing that I already have made it. And now I'm living in it and giving you my life. We’ve also been bumping your album! Congratulations on that. What have been some of your proudest or most memorable moments in music so far? Man I appreciate you Checking out "Then till Now". That Album alone is definitely a moment for me because I made the album with all of my friends and that was my first actual real release. Putting together my first tour was also dope. Started in Atlanta at the Apache Cafe for the bar exam which I came in second place. Next was the SEA Awards, Where I was only supposed to be doing a panel showcase, but I did so well that I was asked to perform in the main award show. The last stop on that tour was actually South by Southwest. I got a lot of love out there and I was just on the humble grind Ya know,  just me and the homies. The thing about us is,  We can walk into a room just us and end up drawing people to us just based on our aura. which happens to be one of the reasons why I know that what I'm doing is God sent. This is supposed to happen. I'm Supposed to be here. The last moment would be when I got to spit in front of KXNG crooked I, The Horseshoe Gang and Sway. I Auditioned for a competition called  "My One Shot " and got picked to come to Atlanta and audition to get a record deal. I ended up killing my first audition and made it to the second round. The only thing that messed me up was confidentiality. I had just signed a confidentiality form and then I stupidly got on social media and let everybody know I made it to the second round. The reason that this was so bad was because the show aired on BET. I did get a cameo so that was cool lol. We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? I really appreciate you having me. What's next for me is more music and some visuals at the top of the year. You'll be seeing me doing more shows and going to different cities to work with other artists. They'll be merchandise coming soon. I have two other artist under "Classic Muzik".  " TD " and " Rho Tha Rich". I just finished my first acting role. You'll see me in the film    "Faithless" directed by Dujuan Austin. For everything else just stay tuned. Oh yeah, It's Mr.Adamsbtw!! www.instagram.com/mr_adamsbtw www.facebook.com/Mr_adamsbtw #BuzzMusic

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Eric Vattima has been establishing his independent craft from the group up since he was a teenager. Graduating from Las Vegas Academy back in 2016, Eric set out to move to Nashville, TN, and continue figuring out his sound at Belmont University. Now with a slew of singles released, Eric Vattima has garnered himself a solid fan base and thousands of listeners and streams. His latest single “Fade” make Eric Vattima’s success all the more believable, just listen. The much anticipated single “Fade” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms. “Fade” makes for a stunning example of the kind of passion and weight that Eric Vattima pours into his music. Balancing the classic intensity of rock legends ofyesteryear and a decidedly refreshing, almost spoken-word vocals, the music builds up and envelops listeners in an incredibly immersive and memorable way. It’s been a while since an artist has lined up all of the elements to such an effective degree. That classic, hard-hitting escapism has finally returned while superb guitar work meets with incredibly appealing vocals that cut through the weight of the soundscape with relevant ease. Eric Vattima is insanely good at what he does and we looking forward to hearing more! Check out “Fade” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Welcome to BuzzMusic Eric Vattima! We love your nostalgic sound! Can you tell our readers a bit about your approach to music and your sound? Most of my sound comes from a blend of the stuff I listened to growing up. I was extremely into Rock and Alternative, so I’ve always had that kind of music in the back of my mind when looking at how I wanted my music to sound. I also spent a good amount of time in a Neo-Soul group back in Las Vegas, The Noir Movement, where I really got into more RnB/Soul and Hip Hop. Growing up, I was listening really to anything I could get my hands on as a kid. I’d just set my iPod to shuffle, and throw my headphones in. Sometimes it would be Jason Mraz, other times Kings of Leon, and then sometimes Dr. Dre, or even John Mayer. In the past year I’ve taken a lot of blues and rock influence into account when producing these songs, which has helped each song be different from the last. “Fade” is a completely captivating and versatile track. What was the writing/recording process like? Can you dive into some details about the lyrics? Thank you! So I wrote this song back in 2018, originally, and revisited it earlier this year before recording it. The song was written as an archetype over the idea of a Gold and how it loses its value when it starts to fade. It got me thinking about how artists can get mistreated as the age in this industry, eventually getting tossed to the side as their new artist persona begins to fade, and we start to get tacked up to whatever fad we seem to be associated with musically. It’s hard not to get swallowed up by the business side of the industry, and forget who you are. I’ve had that fear in the back of my mind for the last few years. So I wanted to tackle it in a song, and that’s kind of how “fade” came to be. It also became more of a rock track because a professor of mine at the time told me that I should try going in the rock direction of music, so I figured “why not give it a shot.” It turned out to be a lot of fun, and that’s why I still do a lot more Rock Alternative these days. When we went to record the song, most of it ended up getting recorded out of a home studio set up, where i tracked a lot of guitar and vocals. Later on, my drummer, Arquel, tracked drums for it, and then a good friend of mine from my hometown, Michael Westlake, laid down bass on it. Once everything was done, my roommate, Dallas Jack, brought the song to life in mixing and mastering it. A lot of time went into the overall track, and it’s easily one of my favourite songs I’ve gotten to put out. How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process? It’s so hard to have a preference of one over the other. I love the energy that comes from playing in front of a crowd. There’s nothing like it. It’s where you really get to test out how people feel about the music you make. Yet, there’s something therapeutic about spending hours in a studio pouring out passion into the records themselves. I’ve been finding it relaxing to spend so much time on the next EP I have coming out, but then it’s been even more fun to test out the unreleased songs at live shows. I thrive on hype crowds, or even find it to be a lot of fun walking into a room with people who have no idea who I am, and getting that crowd into the music I play. That comes from playing in Bars, Pubs, and Taverns along the South Jersey Shore growing up over summers. I used to play covers for a majority of 4 hour shows, and then sneak in my own original music wherever I could. It was nice, because it really teaches you how to read a room and build a crowd. Overall, I love both studio recording and live shows. What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? I want to make it as far as I can, spend time on the road, and just build as much of an audience as I can. I want to see how far music can take me, and start to see more of the world beyond the United States in the next year. The band that has been built over the last year to play this music is incredible, and I’m so grateful for the musicians like Arquel and Nick Magasano who gave it a chance and have helped me build something I’m proud to show people. We’re waiting back right now to see if we can get on a few festivals for next year. In the meantime, just trying to book shows in Nashville, and other places in the South like Louisville, Memphis, Atlanta, and Knoxville to start getting a fan base. Currently, there’s another band project in the works as well that we’re all very excited to start releasing music for in the the coming year too. It was such a pleasure to feature your new music! What’s next for you artistically? I have one more single with Arquel coming out in a few weeks. Beyond that, I’ll drop the first two singles from my sophomore EP, “Fears,” by the end of the year, with a full release on the EP in the beginning of 2020, January to be more specific. Fears explores a lot more of the Rock and Alternative Hip Hop side of music that I want to explore. Later on next year, I’m hoping to put out my first collaborative mixtape and keep releasing singles as well. For the other band project, we want to get a few singles early next year and an EP by mid next summer. All in all, there’s a lot coming up, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward as the new year comes. www.instagram.com/evattima www.facebook.com/ericvattima #BuzzMusic

  • Check out Ace Wild’s Successful 2019 Recap

Ace Wild is an independent hip-hop artist hailing from La Crosse, Wisconsin. His quick bars, flawless rhymes, and ability to deliver spoken-word verses without taking so much as one breath has mad him a swiftly rising start in the music industry. 2019 has been a huge year for Ace Wild, he separated himself from his group and decided to be a truly independent artist doing everything on his own. In January he released the first single from his album “UNORTHODOX” titled “Crash”, followed up by “To The Grave” ft. Dre Blessed. After the first two singles saw nothing but success, Ace Wild went on to release four more singles from the album including the popular hip-hop banger “Judgement Day”. “UNORTHODOX” was released in full on June 25, 2019, and propelled Ace Wild’s career to new heights. The album served as an impressive new addition to Ace Wild’s catalog, showcasing his versatility and true talent. After the album drop, Ace Wild’s first truly independent single titled “Hated Love” was released just one month after the album, and was soon followed up by Ace’s most recent “F.T.G.” which he claims to be his most controversial single to date. Ace Wild is a soon to be a household name and if you haven’t checked out his music yet I highly recommend you do! Don’t sleep on this ambitious, inspiring, and independent artist. Listen to Ace Wild’s new music here and read more with the artist in our exclusive interview below! Welcome back to BuzzMusic Ace Wild! It’s such a pleasure to be chatting with you again. You seem to be an artist that puts a substantial amount of thought into your lyrics! Who/what has inspired you to be the artist you are today? I'm glad to be working with you guys again, thank you for having me! Music has always been my go-to, especially for emotional support. I listen to a wide variety of genres of music, and whatever grabs my attention is what I continue to listen to. I get a lot of my inspiration from artists who cling to reality, rather than what you would hear in the club. For me, the importance of story telling and legitimate statements are what drive my lyrical process in the direction where I feel real, and in all honesty, the best version of me to supply listeners with what they should hear, rather than the same style/song repeatedly. "Judgement Day" is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? Judgement Day is one of my favorite tracks I have ever done. A great friend of mine jumped into the driver seat to help me produce the beat (he goes by the name of K.L.S.). I listened to a lot of Ozzy Osbourne growing up, and the main melody gave me a harder hitting vibe, so I knew I had to come with a serious subject matter. When all of this was going down, a lot of people I knew, myself included, were being taken for granted, stepped on, and handed a lot of disrespect. I used all of that emotion during my writing process. I go over a lot on this track, going from being pushed down by the legal system, racism, and how it all deprived my mental health. I have opened up with Judgement Day for my last couple shows because of the high energy, it really gets the crowd moving. “Hated Love” seems like a deeply personal track. Is vulnerability something your fans can always expect from your music? Can you tell us more about this particular song? When I was in the process of making "Hated Love", I knew it was going to be quite different from the rest of the music I had made. Music is my therapy, and putting my twist on the aspect of love and heartbreak really pulled something out of me that I wasn't expecting, and neither were my fans. This track was my first time doing everything completely by myself. The beat, the production, the mixing, and the mastering were all done by me. I did a little more singing then I usually would, but I felt amazing hearing it when it was finalized. The song really displays the issues that I deal with when it comes to relationships, and I knew that others could relate to the statements I brought forth as well. You know, typical "bad breakup kind of stuff" is what fueled this song. A lot of people say that communication is key when it comes to relationships, but I believe that comprehension is more important. I feel like that's the main theme for Hated Love. Tell us more about your controversial release “F.T.G.”! Is pushing boundaries in your music something that you’re fairly unapologetic about? I really didn't know what to expect after releasing F.T.G. A lot had happened in my life between the releases of "Hated Love" and this one, and I needed to give the world a dose of reality. I'm sick of the standards that our generation has today. So many people just give up, throw their chances away, and try to fit into the scene. People expect you to drop everything to go out and get messed up on drugs and alcohol because it's "cool". I went through that way earlier than everyone else, so to me, it's useless. I got a lot of feedback on this track, and it was surprising to see a larger amount of people vibe with it. I'm not afraid to push boundaries. If I say something that offends you, then maybe you have some changes to make. I don't feel sorry for anything I said, or the shots I took at people throughout the song. They shouldn't be in the position for people to idolize them, whether it be other musicians or just someone in general. We know that you're a lover of integrating a variety of elements in your music. Would you ever incorporate contrasting genres into your music, or do you think it would ruin the type of sound you're attempting to reach? I have plans on doing so much more with my sound now that I have no restrictions. I'm planning on pulling out things from left field that no one will expect. In today's game, you need to be versatile. Incorporating other styles and sounds can be amazing as long as you're original with it. I've got so many other amazing artists that I'm going to be working with that have different backgrounds in the music world. I'm really excited to see what I can do with my catalog here in the near future. Thank you so much for chatting with us. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future to further promote your album or two new singles? Thank you so much once again for having me, it's my pleasure! My next move is jumping right into my next big project. The last two singles I dropped will be appearing on that, so stay tuned. I've got a few unannounced shows in the near future, so I will be continuing to promote my music and just keep creating. If you want to stay up to date on what I'm doing, make sure to follow my social media! Thank you again for taking the time to work with me, I know we'll be doing more together soon! www.facebook.com/acewildlaxmusician www.instagram.com/ace_wild_official #BuzzMusic

Since I released the music video for Bad Habit, I've been hard at work finishing up the rest of my album! Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your song “Chemical Kids”? Great question, I go through phases of music the same way as phases in life. But I wrote Chemical Kids with Chris Shelton and his production ability is insane... he can be my "particular individual". What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? I want all of it and none of it can come soon enough. Trying to manifest a Grammy as we speak. We absolutely love your latest release! What predominant message was integrated within "Bad Habits"? Can you tell us more about the concept of the music video? Thanks! I wrote bad habit about a person but compared them to a Bad Habit. I thought if I did it this way my message would be more relatable. We all have Bad Habits... so that was my initial idea & it spiraled out of control from there! You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into their lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within your most recent singles? Not only do I put a lot of thought into my lyrics, but I write full-length essays about them in the blog section of my website. I do the most... always. Do you enjoy live shows, or do you prefer the actual songwriting process? Also, any live shows coming up in the near future?! I don't have any live shows plan, but love performing live. Always looking for new opportunities. What can we expect to see from you next as 2019 comes to an end? Hopefully, I can get my EP finished! It's a lot of work, but hopefully, I get kudos for trying! www.facebook.com/alexkautzmusic www.instagram.com/alexkautzmusic #BuzzMusic

  • Catching Up With Jenny J Nam And Her Brand New Single “Not A Second Glance”

“Not A Second Glance” begins with a haunting piano solo that slowly transitions into a finely-calibrated ballad. The vocals come in and completely blow me away, their sultry and melancholic, yet full of emotion and truth. “Not A Second Glance” is raw and emotive, it teeters on the line of sadness but remains reminiscent and fairly light-hearted. Jenny’s vocal register and harmonically-rich production is musical brilliance. She pours her heart and soul into this track and we can’t get enough. The power and meaning from beginning to end are both inspiring and galvanizing in today’s music industry. Jenny J Nam has done a fantastic job conveying her emotion through poetry, matching that poetry with expert musicianship and exuding a spectacular vibrancy. We can’t wait to see what she delivers next! If you’re new to Jenny J Nam’s work, “Not A Second Glance” is a brilliant spot to start. Jenny was born and raised in South Korea and has found a new home living in Los Angeles as an award-winning composer, experienced songwriter and brilliant pianist for a variety of genres and music producers. Working for over a decade composing and arranging several pieces of music for Samsung, LG, Coway, The Ministry of Health and Welfare of South Korean Government commercials along with arranging songs for K-pop artists like Jung-hoon Kim and Crazy Milk. Jenny has performed at the Valley Performing Art Center, the UCLA Fowler Museum and was a semi-finalist at the Songstar song-writing competition Nashville in 2017 as well as receiving a second place at the US Song-writing awards in 2019. Check out “Not A Second Glance” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Hi Jenny J Name! It’s such a pleasure to have you back on BuzzMusic! We’ve been following your recent releases closely and we’re captivated by “Not A Second Glance”! What can you tell us about this project? Hello, BuzzMusic! Thank you for having me again! Yes... I finally decided to release this very personal song to the world. The main song which I wrote was in 2006, So. Korea. and after moving to the U.S, I've met my super talented co-writer, Carly Lyman at the school, we started working on English lyrics and changing melody lines in 2016. And the whole music production progress is done in late 2017. It took me quite a long time to grab my pencil to write out my personal story into a new body of the song in English. Well, a long story, in short, it's OUT TO THE WORLD. The official MV will be released soon! We just had the first shooting day for MV. I can't wait to share the beautiful story in the visual media soon. “Not A Second Glance” is incredibly uplifting and powerful! What inspired you to originally write this song? Simply put, I was not happy when I was in Korea. Especially, this song included my early 20s thoughts, a depressed period which I went through. In general, I was lost. I felt I was not welcomed, I felt that I would not make my dream in Music ever. I was so overwhelmed by the very competitive atmosphere in Korea. People were cold, people always searched for something, people always discouraged me so I had to shut my mouth always to keep myself reserved. At that time, I felt really empty and small. The motive song in Korean included this kind of emotion in 2006. Still, every time I hear this song, I feel very heavy and it reminds me of what circumstances I had, where I used to be in Seoul. Those gray-colored-memories are still waving to me. "Not A Second glance" includes my hope for the bright future for me and the audience who may have similar experiences as me in the past. In the lyrics, at the first verse, there's Han River, where refers to Seoul, So. Korea and Union Station refer to LA, USA that I moved here now where I want to belong to, where I am chosen to be. I wanted to tell not only myself but also you that "don't look back. I can see the bright light now" Another one of your releases this year was “Noho (North Hollywood)” which we thoroughly enjoyed! With a slew of singles released in 2019, can your fans expect a longer project or upcoming album release? Yes! I have a longer project. Actually, "Not A Second Glance" is part of this project. There's gonna be another personal-story-related song that will be released in the early next year. That song would be connected to "Buried Dream" - "Not A Second Glance" - (future upcoming album in 2020) as a trilogy of my storytelling in Music and the Visual Arts (Music Video). At the same time, I'm planning to keep releasing other single albums too. One song, within this year, you can hear a cute love story song around December. :) How have you honed your songwriting style over time, and what do you think are the main qualities that make a song truly connect and last in the long-run? Making a strong whole body structure is the key to success. I don't like the instant style of life. I don't like instant things in general. It's not my cup of tea ever. So when I write a song, I put a lot of energy and time to create the core essential part which can relate to the audience well-rounded with the high-end quality. Literally I put meanings into every note, every chord progression, and every single word. No matter how long it will take, I'd rather make the best quality production. How would you say your music now compares to the music you curated when you first started out in the music industry? Wow, it's been so much transformed! I can tell very well when I hear my songs in the early 20s, mid-20s, and nowadays? my writing style has been developing a lot. The more I write, the better the results I have. This new LA environment gives me a lot of positive creativity. LA is the place where you want to be? then you can be. So, this kind of vibe has given me a lot of inspiration as well as broaden my perspectives. If I were still in Korea, my music may haven't been updated so much. Thank you so much for chatting with us once again! We’re huge fans of you at BuzzMusic! Can you tell our readers what the future has in store for you artistically? I keep on writing and playing around as a pianist/composer/producer :) One future news I can tell you is I will prepare my showcase in the next year. It will be tentatively middle of 2020. So, I'd like to show my artistries in Music, Visual Arts, Performances via multiple platforms soon. It's being in progress thoroughly.  Lastly, thank you for having me again! Love you guys incredible support :) facebook.com/jennyjnam instagram.com/jennyjnam grafolio.com/jennyjnam #BuzzMusic

Hey Jenna Leigh-Raine, welcome back! "AREA" was the perfect song to kick off your album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track and experimental new sound? I was creating an insular sound to explore life alone while imagining living on a different planet, as I'm sure future humans will. But not just human but hybrid and machine men women. Finally, the whole album asks us to question if we're happy in our Time'. What predominant message was integrated within "AREA" that you hope your listeners take away from it? I used the image of a single astronaut crashing on a lone planet knowing they won't make it back so, recounts their life. Leaving us with very human profound thinking. We are all energy be kind and brave as life moves to quite a real changing era on earth and space. The sound is bringing together both a future electronic rock with a cinematic wall of sound. I hope the listener stops looks think questions and loves it. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this album release? Any shows in the near future? • Artist Of The Day: Evol Walks Talks New Album & More!

Los Angeles-based five-piece rock band Evol Walks has been together since January 2014. Fronted by lead vocalist and songwriter Leah Martin-Brown, Evol Walks truly began in Austalia. The fiery-haired songstress has been writing songs since she was young, and eventually realized her true passion at age 21. She packed up and moved to Los Angeles to officially form Evol Walks. Now in 2019, Evol Walks has been making its name known around the globe. Early this year in January, Evol Walks released their debut full-length album, “Our Time Is Now” that features 7-tracks of Evol Walks heavy authentic rock sound. To follow up the album, the hard-hitting rock collective released a dark, yet brilliant, music video in April 2019 to match “The Fire” off of the album. The visuals alone garnered over 12k views on Youtube. With undeniable success, Evol Walks was more driven than ever this summer, releasing not one but two singles! July 2019, listeners and fans saw the release of “Tear It Down”, and in August 2019 was followed up by rock anthem “Death Of Me”. Evol Walks is currently working on another EP, and is headed to Vegas to play a show Oct 5th! We can’t get enough of Leah Martin-Brown and Evol Walks and we’re looking forward to hearing more! Listen to Evol Walks’ music here and keep scrolling for our interview below! Welcome back to BuzzMusic Evol Walks! What have you been up to since your last release of “Death Of Me”? Thank you! We have been back in the studio with our Producer, Brian Howes, writing material for the upcoming record! Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your song “Tear It Down”? Tear it Down isn't inspired by one specific person or musical influence. I wrote it purely because I was fucking angry. I don't agree with what is happening politically both here and in my home country and I'm angry at the blatant disregard for our planet and our future. That is essentially what 'Tear it Down' is about so I really can't answer the exact question being asked. I just wanted it to sound big and angry and get my message across. I wasn't really pulling from my influences at the time. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? We have been in and out of studios since 2016 now and playing locally around LA. This year we have started branching out to surrounding areas like Las Vegas but we really want to get back out on the road. It has been almost 5 years since we last toured and that is just too damn long in my opinion! We have a few things in the works but we can't chat about that until the ink is dry. In the 5 years that Evol Walks has been making music together, what has been the most memorable moment or achievement you’ve experienced together? What are you most proud of? I'm really proud of everything we've achieved so far but I'd say the most surreal moment was playing the Main Stage at Polish Woodstock in front of 250,000 people! That was pretty incredible! What are you most looking forward to about touring throughout the Fall and Winter? Where is your favorite place to perform at? We actually had a change of plans- our final show for the year will be October 31st at Lucky Strike in Hollywood as our Drummer has been called to Europe for a tour with Edge of Paradise. We are trying to lock in a tour at the beginning of next year when we have our new record out and about. As for favourite place? I love Cherry Bar in Melbourne Australia, Bar Anchor in Stockholm Sweden and (of course) the Viper Room and Lucky Strike in Hollywood! What's next for Evol Walks? Writing and recording and more writing and more recording :) www.facebook.com/evolwalks www.instagram.com/evolwalks #BuzzMusic

Taylor Pace is an authentic musician with a love for the art form running through his veins. He captures listeners with his soulful and heartfelt vocals while delivering poetic and relatable lyrics. Check out all of Taylor Pace’s music here and keep reading for more in our exclusive interview! Welcome back to our platform Taylor Pace! We’re so happy to be recapping your successes to our readers. How has the music world been treating you so far throughout 2019? Thanks the music world has been treating me pretty well. I’ve been able to get 3 songs put up to for consideration for a Grammy nomination so that’s cool! It’s incredibly impressive that you’ve delivered a new track every month this year! Did you fall into any creative slumps or does the curation process flow naturally for you? The creation process usually flows pretty naturally for me nowadays. I usually have to find something that gets the creative juices flowing so sometimes it’s a lyric idea or it might just be a melody or a piano part or guitar riff. Once I find that key (pun intended)  then Pandoras Box opens musically, usually. I feel like your releases this year had a definite theme progression! It moved from themes of love and desire in  “I Really Want You” to themes of gratitude and lifes bigger picture like in “My Flowers”. Do you strive to remain versatile with your message or was this done purposely? I try to be versatile with my song content. Songs are an expression of the human experience so I try to be versatile as life is lol. We LOVE your music videos. They always bring a contagious energy to any room. What is your favorite and least favorite part of the filming process? Do you have a moment from a particular video that stands out? As far as the music videos go, my favorite part is definitely seeing the finished product and my least favorite is absolutely the planning involved in them (hahaha). I wish I could just create the idea of the video and then voilá, a great video created. But alas we’ve got to schedule actresses and find locations and drive to locations and think about wardrobe etc. I’m lucky to have such a great team of people to work within creating the videos because otherwise they’d all end up with just me singing and playing some instrument in my living room in my underwear and a t-shirt. I don’t necessarily have a moment from any particular video that stands out but each and every video has been special to me. They’re all unique and they really add to the quality of the songs in that they color in the picture, so to speak, that the lyrics and soundscape provide to tell the story of each song in HD. The LP you’re releasing at the end of the year will include some unreleased tracks and we were wondering if you could shed some light onto what that will look like for listeners and fans? As far as unreleased music, listeners can expect the usual from Taylor Pace...which is always something unexpected.  I try to create different styles of music but it’s all gotta be good. So far the achievement that I’m proudest of is the volume of work I’ve been able to put out. This current venture of releasing as single a month has really got the creative juices flowing so I’m planning on upping the ante for 2020. Your dynamic skill-set really gave you an edge in the music world this year and it’s been a pleasure catching up with you! What achievement are you the proudest of so far? Thanks again and it’s always a pleasure working with Buzz Music.  You guys really showcase some great artists which I’m honored to be apart of. instagram.com/mtaylorpace #BuzzMusic
