  • Jay Nomad Proves His Genre Diversity With New Single “Jade’s Ballad” Ft. Yang Bo Yi

Jay Nomad always delivers contagious urban-pop tracks. He’s consistent in his contemporary sound but is ever-changing in his delivery and can never be pigeon-holed to one genre. His latest single “Jade’s Ballad” is a dark electro-pop track that focuses on the heavy subject matter of domestic abuse. Despite the powerful underlying message, “Jade’s Ballad” is incredibly energizing and upbeat. As a listener you once again find yourself escaping to the soundscapes of Jay Nomad. With a rap feature from Yang Bo Yi, it truly ties in perfectly to introduce this new sound to Jay’s repertoire. Equipped with a strong multicultural influence and expansive knowledge in a diverse amount of genres, Jay Nomád is a refreshing artist/producer from New York City. Jay has impressively released five singles in the last year, all of which have seen nothing but success. With a fan base growing all over the world, Jay Nomád has big things ahead. As his fan base continues to grow in both Los Angeles and New York City, Jay has his sights set on traveling to Thailand and Columbia, where he’s already garnered an impressive following. Jay Nomad will be working on mixes and alternative versions to his existing singles throughout November and into 2020! Stay tuned for more. Check out “Jade’s Ballad” here and read more with Jay Nomad below! Welcome back Jay Nomad! We’re loving the new sound you bring with “Jade’s Ballad”. Is this electronic-urban-pop fusion something we can expect to see more of in the future? Thank you BuzzMusic for always supporting my music! Regarding the genre, I think this is definitely one of the paths I want to take. I like beats that seem sort of like Trap but lyrics and vocal melody's that sound like they were taken out of a rock song. Then again that's not all set on stone as you've probably noticed with my past songs, I don't usually stick to one sound since I find exploring ways to make my music different has always been more fun. We love the addition of a well-rapped verse in “Jade’s Ballad”. How did your collaboration with Yang Bo Yi come about? There was a time that I was working with Yang Bo Yi in terms of music production but we ended up not releasing anything because we have different music tastes. However I thought it could be a good idea to have him rap in the bridge for Jade's Ballad since it would give the song a good contrast and I also wanted to sing to audiences in Asia, especially Taiwan. Things worked out pretty well with this song though so I'm glad he featured in it. How do you think “Jade’s Ballad” compares to one of your first releases such as “Hanabi”? How have you developed or changed as an artist? Wow, when I hear Hanabi it sounds so different now. Back then I had somewhat of an idea of the sound I wanted so I started out with something simple. That was basically the concept we developed with my co-producer and mentor Juanda Morales (https://www.instagram.com/jdamorales). We just added a simple beat, an 808 bass, and a few arrangements for the instrumental. That way I could build up on my sound with the following singles. Since then I've learned a lot from him and each song takes something from a different genre without losing it's "pop" identity. We even have a little surprise for our Latin audience in January with a song that has a more tropical vibe. "Jade’s Ballad” obviously had a powerful underlying story to it. Are you able to dive deeper into the honest meaning of the track? It definitely does. Most of my songs are a mix of my past experiences as well as my imagination. With this one I tried to view what I had done wrong in my past relationships. There was a time I had trouble holding myself accountable for the way I had treated some of my partners. I would blame them for everything without recognizing my part in ruining the relationship. Of course I'm happy to say I've grown out of that stage in life but with Jade's Ballad I wanted to show how a relationship can quickly turn psychologically abusive. The character in the song is clearly obsessed and dependent of his partner as he begs her for one more chance while recognizing he's hurt her. I guess it could be a good way to show how horrible domestic abuse can be. Thanks again for chatting with us! Tell us more about your future plans going forward! What can your listener expect from your upcoming remixes? Is there a certain single you’re really looking forward to remastering? I haven't done remixes in about a year but I could decide to do one in the next couple of months perhaps. I'm mostly focused on writing my own music so from now till December I'll be in some serious songwriting sessions to see what new music I can release for 2020. You'll definitely be the first to know BuzzMusic! www.facebook.com/jaynomadmusic www.instagram.com/jaynomadmusic #BuzzMusic

We feel a variety of emotions while listening to the likes of Ninety-5, and we know it'll have the BuzzMusic listeners feeling the same way! Their latest unconventional track: "Heat Check"! Ninety-5! What a trio! Their vibe surges with such intensity and playful aspect, it's beyond amusing! "Heat Check" is an eclectic take on alternative music. With the release of "Heat Check", we can definitively say that Ninety-5 is breaking barriers within the music community. As an alternative hip/hop/rap group, Ninety-5 brings an eccentric and powerful sound to all tracks, especially so with "Heat Check". Ninety-5 is the type of trio that releases those types of tracks that are simply fun to listen to. We don't have to worry about missing an underlying integral message, as we receive pure entertainment from the trio. If you want an enjoyable track, that incorporates a variety of alternative rap/hip-hop aspects, then "Heat Check" is undoubtedly the track for you! Access Ninety-5's "Heat Check" here, and keep scrolling for our interview with the artist! Hey there Ninety-5! It's amazing to be able to feature "Heat Check" here on BuzzMusic and to expose our listeners to such a raw and original sound. How did you three come up with the essence of your sound? Our sound is different on every record we make, we try to give a feeling or emotion when making the instrumental and usually carry that throughout the track. For this song Heat Check the beat was made by Rosko Keyes, he titled the beat "Hot As Fuck" and we sort of rolled with that imagery. We each wrote a verse that cohesively flowed with each other while also telling an individual story about when something got heated in our lives and Heat Check was made! "Heat Check" definitely had our attention grabbed right away! It's eccentric, and undoubtedly a sound we aren't familiar with. How did the curation process go for this particular track? Any creative clashes between the three of you? We answered this question in the previous one a little but we can touch upon it a bit more! The instrumental was made by Rosko. When we had one of our writing sessions and we were showcasing our own beats to the group this one stood out to Membrain in particular and he wanted to hop on it immediately! From there we started thinking of concepts for the song and we got to writing! We each write individually then come together once were finished to hear each others verses. Often times there is re-writes during the recording session if somebody brings to much heat, the others have to step up lol. For this song there weren't any moments of clashing just more so the notions from each person say "this song needs more variety" to which we added more sound effects, more doubles, ad libs and such. What steps do you all take to ensure that your sound is ultimately as authentic as it can be? We usually ask each other about each others verse before we record the song, reciting it out loud before laying it down to see if anyone has critiques. If we think the verses are dope we usually lay it down the base layer of vocals and then see how it sounds. If averse is whack or out of place the person who wrote it usually knows upon first listen and starts writing a new verse to lay down next recording session. Membrain edits and mixes all of the songs so the group individually gets their input at every stage of mixing until satisfied. We do everything ourselves when it comes to the process of the song; Beat Making, Writing, Recording, Editing and Mixing as well as the artwork and marketing so we have our hands in every single process until the release to make sure our vision is there. Where do you imagine the best setting is to experience "Heat Check"? How would you each personally describe the track to someone who hasn't given it a listen to yet? This song is a car banger 100%. One of our homies was blasting it in his car and pulled up to a light and the guy next to him started bobbing his head along to it and wanted to know the song and group, that's how you know when a song BANGS! lol. I think we all agree that this song is about bringing the heat, experiencing the heat, basking in the heat and cooking with heat because this song is Hot As F*ck. It was awesome to have you all here on BuzzMusic! What's the goal for Ninety-5 as a trio, and for each of you individually as artists? We appreciate your time as well! For Ninety-5 we want to show people that we're here to enjoy live to the fullest and evoke a different emotion with every song we create! We want to tour the world and experience new things that will broaden our musical horizons! Connect with Ninety-5: www.instagram.com/nine.ty.5 www.facebook.com/N1nety.5

Welcome to BuzzMusic! We’re really happy to be featuring your song “For The Love Of Money”. It’s very catchy, but also incorporates an integral message within. Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? The truth embedded within the track is simply; "Never let anyone get the best of you. Whether you win or lose, always walk away knowing that you did the absolute best you could at that moment in time and learn from that situation in order to be better for the next." - Ryan T. Griffis (Ghost Train - drummer, singer/songwriter). We’re always curious to learn more about how bands form! How did Ghost Train officially come to fruition? Did you know the other band members prior to creating the band? Ghost Train started out by Ryan Griffis and Eric Moss meeting at Miami University (OH) through a mutual friend in 2015. Griffis hosted jam sessions at his house throughout 2016 and decided that they needed to have a bass player, so Griffis brought in Sean Stone. After a semester of jamming, Griffis told Moss that he wanted to write, record, and produce their own music demos before graduation (2017.) During the spring of 2017, Griffis and Moss wrote a collective 6 songs, 1 instrumental and managed to complete it all in a matter of 10 weeks. Ghost Train spent the next year recording their demo tracks at Lava Room Recording Studio in Cleveland, Ohio. Ghost Train released their self-titled debut EP on September 7th, 2018. Around the time of releasing the debut EP, Sean Stone's prior band was falling apart so he joined Ghost Train full time as well as bringing Andrew Stuve (keyboards, vocals) into the band. Ghost Train rehearsed their music to get Andrew Stuve up to par and once 2019 began, Ghost Train started touring across Ohio playing shows in Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dayton, and Columbus. Ghost Train released "For the Love of Money" on September 20th, 2019 and plans on releasing more music and playing more shows throughout 2020. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new song “For The Love Of Money”? Ghost Train draws our biggest influence from classic rock, pop, country, and reggae. In terms of writing "For the Love of Money" the influences we had were "Helping Hand" by Foghat and  "American Woman" by The Guess Who. Griffis was driving up to Columbus to meet everyone at Sean Stone's place when he heard "American Woman" come on the radio. He thought that the main guitar riff in 'American Woman' would sound awesome during the outro section. We tried it out and it later that night when we began learning the basics to "For the Love of Money" and it worked elegantly. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? Our ultimate goals as a group are: a) making it onto the radio b) play at major music festivals c) sign a major record deal d) create a culture, earn sponsorship's, develop a brand name e) open up or go on tour with a major band or artist f) tour regionally (2-3 years,) nationally (5-10 years,) globally (later on in life) We are currently working on some of the goals, most of them are goals we would like to accomplish over time. What's next for Ghost Train? We plan on setting up another "Ride The Train" Tour across Ohio and releasing new music in 2020. So don't miss the train before it leaves the station because we are taking off with or without you! facebook.com/ghostrainmusic1 instagram.com/ghostrainmusic1 twitter.com/ghostrainmusic1 #BuzzMusic

Featured on Rachel McIntyre Smith’s debut EP, “Long Ride” focuses on Rachel’s deeply personal thoughts and gives the listener an introspective view of her outlook on life and love. Rachel’s ability to set the scene and to move from the imagery of the verses to the intimacy and central sentiments of the hook makes for something that manages to captivate on its own strength alone. Nothing fancy or overly flashy is needed to brighten up the energy of “Long Ride”, the realness of Rachel’s lyrics work with the genuine vibrancy of the performance. It feels like a live performance, a moment of truth captured, with nothing to hide behind. You can hear Rachel’s connection to the subject matter, and that makes all the difference. We can’t wait to hear more from this up and coming artist! Check out “Long Ride” here and read more with Rachel in our exclusive interview below! Hello Rachel! We're beyond happy to be featuring you and your music on BuzzMusic! What’s the meaning behind “Long Ride”? Thanks so much- I'm beyond happy to be featured on BuzzMusic! "Long Ride" is the first track on my debut album, and it's a song that has transformed in meaning to me since I wrote it. I wrote this song when I was driving to my parents' house for Easter weekend. I was thinking about this guy that I liked who was kind of guarded and shy. I really thought that we had a shot to be together for a while so I wrote this song to let him know that I was going to stick around for him to open up and get comfortable with me. I wasn't going anywhere- I was there for the long ride. Ironically, I ended up breaking up with him before I actually played him this song- but hey, I've always been an optimist. However, since I wrote this song its meaning has changed to me. Now when I listen to it, I feel like I'm singing this song to myself as a pep talk saying that even in times of doubt I need to believe in myself as I pursue my dreams even if it takes a long time to get there. This song is really special to me because it's the only song I've written that has changed meaning to me. "Long Ride" is flooded with articulate emotions. What feelings did you want listeners to be washed over with when listening to the song? I really want this song to be played during sunset drives with windows down and sunglasses on. I hope this makes people think of their crush and smile, or feel nostalgic for summer love that has ended, or feel determined that they can accomplish what they set out to do. I asked my friends how they feel when they hear this song and they gave me extremely different responses. I think it's cool that different people can listen to my song and feel different emotions about it. Ultimately, I just hope it makes listeners feel something. Is live performance something that’s important to you? How do you feel when you're performing? Can you describe the essence of your shows? I absolutely love performing live. I used to be extremely shy- so shy I would turn around if I saw someone coming towards me to talk.  If you had told me 10 years ago that performing live would not only not scare me but also make me feel energized, I would have laughed. During my shows, I really try to tell the story of the song (whether it's a cover or an original) through my attitude and facial expressions. It helps me connect to the audience and keep the song authentic. I think that anyone who comes to my shows will quickly pick up on my big horse girl energy. I've never been the popular girl and I will never try to be- and I think that people get to know me during my shows. The true essence of my show is a musical meet and greet between me and the audience. I play songs, tell stories, and hope that maybe they can relate at least a little bit. Have you always lived in Oliver Springs,TN? How do you think being based there influences your sound and artistry? I lived in Oliver Springs until I went off to college at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. I graduated in May of 2019 and still live in Chattanooga, but I will always consider Oliver Springs my home. It has influenced my sound and songwriting more than anything. There are so many nuances to life in a small town; and I love to explore them in my songs. Everyone knows everyone and is in everyone's business- which creates an interesting dynamic. Oliver Springs also helped me develop my sense of humor and learn not to take things so seriously (which you can hear in my song "Miss Highfalutin" and "Wedding Blues"). For example, the main landmark in our town is two mountains that used to be strip-mined at the top- it's referred to as "Titty Top Mountain" by everyone in town. I feel like you can't grow up in the shadow of two breast shaped mountains without learning how to laugh at random life circumstances. It was amazing showcasing "Long Ride" to our listeners, and getting to know you as an artist in the process! Any words you'd like to leave the BuzzMusic community off with? Thank you so much for showcasing "Long Ride"! If anyone is still reading this, I just hope that they would give my music a chance. I have my self-titled debut album out on all streaming platforms, and I would be so appreciative if people would just take the time to listen to one of my songs. I wrote every lyric, played every track on every song, recorded every song, and produced every song myself. This album took a lot of hard work and I'd love for people to hear it. What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? I started writing poetry in 2nd grade when I was 7 & my teacher loved reading them & told me I should probably think about writing when I get older I year later I started writing to music but I was always shy and couldn’t speak up so I just wrote for my sister because she rapped but when I was 12 I recorded my 1st song & put it out You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Real Hittas”? Everything I write normally is talking about something I’m feeling & going threw real hittas is and example of that my favorite part in there is “Someone come & take this pain away / Cuz I need more than just this Mary Jane / If she love me imma marry j/ Mama used to push that Mary k / Trynna “make up” for better days / Drop some weight to get some better pay / That just talks about struggling with depression and I can do drugs to try to mask the pain & how I’ll settle for any woman who wants to love me because that’s something I haven’t experienced & how hard my mom worked & even had side hustles selling Mary k which is a “make up” company just to try & make extra money so she wouldn’t have to tell her kids she couldn’t get them what they wanted. Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “Real Hittas”? I don’t think my music ever really changed I’ve always used it as therapy I just know that I got better at producing & engineering & honestly I’m still putting out some of the music I wrote when I was 15 because I couldn’t ever make it sound the way I wanted so I waited till I had the engineering skill to pull it off We’ve also been bumping some of your other singles! Can we expect a longer project or debut album in the near future? Yes I drop singles every week just to get the awareness up & I got a few projects I’m holding on to but I have a album I’m looking to drop pretty soon that I think might really connect with people on a different lvl. We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? Currently I’m looking for a team because I can’t do everything alone & for people to see & value the type of music I bring you have to see the visuals the reason everything is animated why I make some songs sound like I’m not saying anything until u read the lyrics Connect with Chan Thomas: www.facebook.com/chanthomas96 www.twitter.com/chanthomas1 www.instagram.com/chan_thomas #BuzzMusic

Listen to “Real Friend” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with BELLS. Hi BELLS, welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell our readers more about your upbringing and what really pushed you to get started in the music industry? I grew up writing songs starting at age 9. I knew it was what I wanted to do right away, but didn’t think it was an option as a kid. However, as time went on, and as I continued writing, I realized I really needed to go after it. So, I finished high school early, and started going to writing sessions for other artists in the r&b world. That was my introduction to the music industry, however, I’m now focused on writing and producing as my own artist. We’re always interested in how artists convey their music. If you had to describe yours without using any specific genre names (ie: Pop) how would you describe it? Honest. We love your track “Real Friend”, it’s very vulnerable and real! Can you tell us more about the inspiration behind it? Do you try to base all of your songwriting on life experiences? Thank you!! I wrote this song about codependency. The idea is that, when we get “too close” to people, we’re not really seeing them for who they are, separate from ourselves, and we’re also not able to see ourselves as separate from them. In the situation I was in, I needed to walk away, so that’s what the song’s about. And yes, I tend to write about my life. I don’t really think about it, that’s just always how it’s been. What challenges have you faced as an up and coming artist in Los Angeles? How do you overcome those challenges? Honestly, social media and building a fan base. I haven't overcome either yet. But I think making music I’m proud of, not compromising on that, and playing shows is the only way. Thanks so much for sharing your new single “Real Friend” with us! What other projects are you working on!? Do you have any upcoming shows to support the new single? I’ve got a lot of new songs I’ll be releasing soon, as two different EP’s. Currently, I don’t have anything booked. I played a show last week for the single release. But follow me @bells.music for upcoming shows and new music! :) Connect with BELLS on social media for all new music and updates: www.instagram.com/bells.music #BuzzMusic

  • Folk-Rocker Carlin Tripp Brings His Authenticity To The Music Scene With “When You Go”

Carlin Tripp is a true folk-rocker, musician, and stay at home dad. The traveling musician began writing songs while he was in college in Santa Fe and was instantly hooked. He spent 6 years traveling the country by bus until he eventually planted roots and recorded his debut album in 2013. Now settled in Providence, he devotes his time to being a family man and touring musician. Carlin Tripp recently recorded “The Shape of the Island” EP, which became available in April of 2018 and truly showcases where he is with his songwriting and sound right now. “When You Go” appeals on a whole new level for its melodic swagger and the hypnotic, soothing nature of the chord progression. Meanwhile, the lead vocals provide a similar thread of recognizable simplicity, and still, the soundscape seems to evolve and change throughout “When You Go” even with these notably entrancing, ongoing elements that hold you captive. “When You Go” has a distinctive pulse about it, a few carefully crafted layers help give it that comforting, memorable glow. Carlin’s indie vocal during the verses is where the song moves from good to great. It’s a satisfying and enjoyable piece of music and performance, one that you may feel as if you’ve known for years, but one that’s also somehow undeniably original. Easy listening instrumentation blasts through the speakers layered with addicting acoustic arrangments and soulful lyricism. Carlin Tripp has created an eclectic motif and we can’t wait to see what this up and coming artist curates for his fans next! Check out “When You Go” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic Carlin Tripp! We loved listening to "When You Go"! Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? I wrote this song while thinking about how quickly life passes us by and how important it is to appreciate the moments we share together and how even after someone is gone, they live on inside of you. How do you think "When You Go" compares to your first album? How do you think your overall sound has progressed since the release of your first album? I think this song tackles a much more mature subject. Up until this time, a lot of my writing has been about love, falling in love, starting a family and the adventures of my life. This song is the first time I've channeled a heavier topic, like death, and really explored it. Of all the places you've traveled to and performed, what would you say is your most memorable moment as an artist? My most memorable experience as an artist would have to be the night that Reid Genauer invited me backstage to hang with him and his mates in Strangefolk and shocked me by asking me to open the night in front of a sold-out house at the Paradise Rock Club in Boston. Just stepping onto that stage which has hosted so many iconic acts was a thrill, but to get a nod from one of my musical heroes and his audience was a life-changing experience. How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process? I love live performance but I think that's because it is mainly what I have always done. I never studied music in the traditional sense, so I think sometimes I am a little rough in the studio. Getting on stage and sharing the songs I have written with a live audience is what I really live for. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any shows in the near future?! Thank you so much for putting this together! After this, I have another single I am releasing in November and then I hope to start working on another full length album in 2020. My next show is at the Topsfield Fair in Topsfield, MA on October 10th. Connect with Carlin Tripp on social media: www.facebook.com/carlintrippmusic www.instagram.com/carlintripp #BuzzMusic
