- XtraKyd & F51 Team Up To Galvanize Canadian Music Scene With “DIVE”
Making their names known through North America, XtraKyd and F51 is a Toronto-based duo making contagious electronic-pop music together. They both bring years of music knowledge and experience to the table. As part of the Ultra Music staple of songwriters, F51 has penned songs for artists including Flo Rida, Benny Benassi, ATB & Marc Benjamin. XtraKyd has also made a substantial mark on the Canadian music industry with his authentic new sound and chemistry with music. Their first single “CABO” was received well by fans worldwide and garnered nothing but success for the up and coming duo. Now back with a brand new second single titled “DRIVE”, XtraKyd and F51 show no signs of slowing down. “DIVE” was the outcome of a writing session with another Canadian pop music favorite, BRDGS. He lent his amazingly empathetic vocal styling to the demo, and the sound stuck. The song features infectious pop hooks, stunning vocals, and slick production. Groundbreaking and experimental, XtraKyd and F51 are not afraid of the unique. Among this, the melody, lyricism, and the leading voice all draw your focus well. Your attention is on the storyline initially, this deeply personal and honest offering of experience and difficulty. By the time the hook hits you’re completely locked in. At just over three minutes long, the further you get into this session, the more “DIVE” seems to connect. The track is not only relatable and compelling, but it hits hard and truly showcases production and musicianship at its finest. As artists, XtraKyd and F51 bring an important touch of realness to music. “DIVE” is a well written and interesting piece of music. We’re looking forward to hearing more! Listen to “DIVE” here and read more with XtraKyd and F51 below! Hello XtraKyd and F51! We're so excited to be featuring you and your latest release "DIVE" on BuzzMusic! What is the music scene like in your area of Toronto? Toronto has an amazing music scene! It's super diverse and there are loads of talented people to connect with. It is the home for all the major music labels and publishers in Canada and a few of the best studios in North America. In the past few years, we have lost some landmark venues and clubs, but others are still going strong and of course, new venues and events pop up as well. Toronto is also home to a number of great annual music industry events and conferences as well as most of the music industry associations' headquarters. A few huge artists (including Drake) have really put international eyes on the city, which has is really great for the credibility of our artists, producers, and writers. We have both traveled extensively in Canada (and outside) in our careers, writing and producing, and we have seen the struggles of trying to cut out a career in smaller markets... it's tough. We consider ourselves very lucky to call Toronto home. Can you tell us more about yourselves, your approach to music and how you originally linked up? We both have been around for a while, F51 as a songwriter (signed to Ultra Music Publishing) and Xtrakyd writing, producing & mixing for loads of indie and major label artists. After many years of knowing each other "by reputation", we ended up getting booked into a writing session together and found out we were neighbors. We literally live less than 1 km apart. BRDGS was the artist that brought us together in that session. He was a mutual friend of both of us and we had both worked with him multiple times. We actually landed a cut out of that session that was released by Warner Music in Europe. After that session, geography made collaborating very simple. I (Xtrakyd) had the idea for a while that I wanted to create a project-based around positive, fun, upbeat music. I always prefer working with collaborators, so I asked F51 to try a co-write with me. We wrote the first song for the project, "CABO", which feature a great local indie artist named Alexandra Hawse. We released the song, mostly as an experiment, and with essentially no budget or promotion it got several thousand spins. That was enough to make us feel that the project was worth pursuing further. So we hit BRDGS up, told him our plan and asked him to co-write for #XKF51 and we came up with our latest single, DIVE. What predominant message was integrated within "DIVE" that you hope your listeners take away from it? For the XtraKyd brand, it is really important that music be positive. As writers, we are often tasked with writing music that is dark, ironic, sarcastic, moody or steeped in swagger or attitude. Don't get us wrong... we LOVE making and listening to music in that direction. But that's not what the XtraKyd brand is about. For this project we just want the messaging to be straight up "feel-good" topics. DIVE is about diving into a relationship, being okay with falling for someone, following your heart instead of your head. We are all really emotionally honest guys that wear our hearts on our sleeves. I think those are important quality for songwriters. The vocals in "DIVE" are so unique! Have you collaborated with BRDGS before? YES! We have both collaborated many times with BRDGS both together and separately. We both feel he is always one song away from being a superstar. His songwriting is exceptional and we absolutely love his vocal delivery... it's special, world-class. Thank you so much for talking with us about your single and creative process. Can you describe how your performances feel? Do you enjoy live shows, or do you prefer the actual songwriting process? Also, any live shows coming up in the near future?! We are songwriting and studio guys. F51 does do the odd DJ gig and the plan is to eventually have him front the live shows. XtraKyd's home is in the studio, my stage & touring days are in the past. However, I have to say, I am super excited about the idea of seeing F51 rep our music on stage in the near future. I will be his biggest fan! Be sure to check out F51's Instagram here, as well as XtraKyd's Instagram here for latest updates on the artists' music! #BuzzMusic

EdotFamousz’s new single “Swimming Pools” is in collaboration with Sauce ronaa and comes in with an alluring intro to capture listeners from the offset. The word addictive works well to describe this harmonically-rich song. “Swimming Pools” teeters on the edge of R&B, hip-hop, and trap. The experience leaves a definitive mark on listeners that find a way to relate to the vulnerability and realness in the lyrics. You head back to trace these bars along with a little more detail, to try to bridge that gap between the calm, spoken word and the soulful, anthem-like hook melody. Conceptually there are different ideas at work, but for the most part, you get an energetic aura of desire, drive, and motivation. For those looking for something different right now, to inspire and enthuse them, “Swimming Pools” could be the one. Individually each artist has something special to offer, and in collaboration, they create thoughtful and genuine tracks that leave the listener craving more! Listen to “Swimming Pools” here and read more with Edot in our interview below! Hey EdotFamousz! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? Hey Buzz music what really inspired me to make music and put it out there is my mom and dad. They both make music they both sing at church and that really inspired me to get into music. It was just all around me growing up, I went from singing in the church choir to leading the church choir. I loved every second of it. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his lyrics than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Swimming Pools”? Well, swimming pool is about having intercourse with a girl. The lyrics describe how I went about doing it and how I like it. I used swimming pools because I’ve never heard it be used before and I wanted this song to be different. In my opinion, it keeps the listeners more intrigued when you make them have to think about what you’re saying; then when you just say it directly. Also adds more flavour to the music. Since you’ve been making music for several years, how would you compare some of the earlier material you’ve written to your newest release “Swimming Pool”? When I first started making music I started with gospel music because that’s where I was raised in music in the church. Because of that, I used to be scared to say what was on my mind and really express myself in my music just because you don’t know who’s listening, who’s judging, etc. I used to care but what other people thought about what I said in my music but then I started to notice that you can’t be scared of what other people think or else you won’t make the best music you can make. Now I’m here making some of my best stuff. It’s definitely been learning curve. We’ve also been bumping your EP “Millenials”! Congratulations on that. What have been some of your proudest or most memorable moments in music so far? The proudest moment in my music career is the time I opened for Sean Kingston in London Ontario at the Cowboys ranch in 2017. That was the biggest crowd I’ve ever performed for almost 1500 people, and after that show, I was really motivated to drop my EP millennials. That show had me writing songs like Picasso MOE and younger it was a crazy experience. We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? I appreciate you guys taking the time to chat with me about my music. I got some singles coming out you guys stay tuned for that, also I'm a Music man I play the drums, I play the keyboard a little bit and that’s about it Either then singing and rapping. I’m all music, music is life. Check below for Edot's socials in order to stay updated with the artists' music! Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
- Amy Elizabeth Makes Powerful Debut With Her EP “Roots”
Residing in Kansas City, MO, Amy Elizabeth is a born and bred sing/songwriter and musician. Surrounded by a musically inclined family, her childhood was filled with music. After pursuing a Master’s Degree in Music, Amy Elizabeth began performing with bands throughout the country. It wasn’t until a traumatic, abusive relationship came to an end that Amy realized her true potential as a solo act. It wasn’t her newfound confidence or classical training that influence her start as a singer/songwriter, but the sounds of her roots that she channeled from her childhood. With her debut EP “Roots” out now, Amy Elizabeth plans to release a full-length album next year. Stay tuned! The “Roots” EP is a 4-track project that tells a story of Amy’s journey. From trauma to perseverance, to introspection and more, Amy is truly vulnerable and real throughout the entirety of this project. The title track and concluding song on the EP is more of an inward exploration about finding peace with yourself, despite what tragedies the past may have brought you. Amy’s ability to set the scene and to move from the imagery of the verses to the intimacy and central sentiments of the hook makes for something that manages to captivate on its own strength alone. Nothing fancy or overly flashy is needed to brighten up the energy of “Roots”, the realness of Amy’s lyrics work with the genuine vibrancy of the performance. It feels like a live performance, a moment of truth captured, with nothing to hide behind. You can hear Amy’s connection to the subject matter, and that makes all the difference. We can’t wait to hear more from this up and coming artist! Check out “Roots” here and read more with Amy Elizabeth in our exclusive interview below! Hello Amy Elizabeth! We're beyond happy to be featuring you and your debut EP "Roots" on BuzzMusic! What’s it like for you to finally be releasing your music to the public? I’m so excited and nervous all at the same time! If feel like I’m sending my child off to kindergarten for the first time, and just want to make sure they have their shirt on the right way and their shoes tied. The single “Roots” is flooded with articulate emotions. What feelings did you want listeners to be washed over with when listening to the song? Roots is about life: it's ups and downs, twists and turns, successes and failures. I think many of us were told growing up that there is a prescription for life and if we just follow certain paths, we’ll be happy. The chorus expresses the anxiety of indecision faced by many when making a tough life choice. The moral of the song is expressed in the question, “How far do your roots grow?” Or rather, “How well do you know yourself?” The widow at the end of the song essentially tells us that life is full of many paths and that there really is no prescription for happiness. You just have to be firmly rooted in who you are as a person. Is live performance something that’s important to you? How do you feel when you're performing? Can you describe the essence of your shows? I make my living playing live shows all over the country, but I rarely get to play my own songs. When I do get to play my own shows, I want them to be uplifting and emotionally healing. I love words and poetry, anything that makes the listener think and reflect on life. I love the communal aspect of live performances, getting to be truly in the moment with the audience. How do you think being based in Kansas City, MO influences your sound and artistry? Well technically I’m living in Carmel, IN right now after having relocated two years ago, but Kansas City is my home and is such a diverse and culturally rich town. They have national award-winning choral ensembles, blues, folk music, and Jazz seven nights a week. I used to go listen to my jazz friends play on my set breaks. I decided to go for a more traditional sound on this EP, but the full album will definitely have some jazz elements. Kansas City’s genuine love for all of the arts is what makes it special and so formative to my own development as an artist. These songs were actually recorded in many different cities—we flew tracks in from everywhere! It largely has a midwestern sound—a couple of the songs have a kind of a T-Bone Burnett baritone guitar. Beautiful thing about music is that when it travels around, it picks up different sounds and makes new ones! It was amazing showcasing "Roots" to our listeners, and getting to know you as an artist in the process! Any words you'd like to leave the BuzzMusic community off with?! I’m just excited to share my songs and stories with your listeners! Thanks for checking out my music! Check out Amy's Instagram for updates on upcoming releases and shows! #BuzzMusic

Listen to “Golden Sea” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hey Kidarah! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We love your original sound! How long have you been involved in the music industry? How did you get first started? I have been involved in music my whole life. My dad is a professional drummer who has worked with Ricky Martin, Jeff Beck, Joss Stone, and many other incredible musicians. Needless to say, I’ve been surrounded by music my entire life. Becoming a singer was never a decision I had to deliberately make either, I just knew in my bones that this was what I needed to do with my life. I started taking pop/soul vocal lessons with the Grammy award-winning Betty Wright at age fifteen and still consult with her to this day. I also started producing my own music to accompany my lyrics and melodies around this time. We love your song “Golden Sea”! It seems deeply personal and uplifting. What did you hope to achieve with this release? Golden Sea is one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written. Around the time I started singing seriously at age fifteen, I was suffering from severe anxiety and panic attacks. Music has been helping me to regulate those feelings and acts as a form of natural therapy for me. Early this year, I guess I felt comfortable enough to let that story pour out of me and onto a page. The whole song is a conversation focusing on my older self asking my younger self, “why won’t you set it free? Release all your anxiety”. I still suffer from anxiety and a little depression, but not nearly as much as I used to. I believe this song helped me dig deeper to find more ways to reduce these feelings. I hope to let people who suffer from anxiety and depression know that they are not alone, and it is okay to have those feelings. We all just need to look within and talk to our inner selves sometimes to get to the root of the problem. Trust me, I get lost in my feelings and go crazy sometimes, but I always try to regulate myself with inner communication and controlling my emotions in a positive and healthy way. Most importantly, this song is a tool to help teach others how to do this for themselves too. We also checked out your debut release “BOUNCE HOUSE”! It really highlights your versatility as an artist. Will you be releasing a track that really fuses these two sides of your artistry together? Thank you for checking it out! Bounce House was such a fun song to make. I definitely want to play around with fusing my hip hop and pop vibes together and I’m sure a song will pour out of me that does just that one of these days. As of right now, I let myself write freely and see where the music takes me naturally. This is just the beginning and I plan on using my gifts to bring all kinds of music together, beyond what you’ve heard from me so far. How would you say your music now compares to the music you curated when you first started out in the music industry? I wrote my first whole song at age nine and have been writing ever since. From the moment I wrote that song, my family knew I was a pop artist. All my melodies were naturally catchy and would create sound worms in the minds of anyone who heard it. I can confidently say that I still write with that same flavor, in any genre I choose to tackle. I have, however, expanded my range of knowledge about different genres of music, so now I can incorporate more rhythms and melodies than I knew of when I first started writing. I’m always learning though, so as I grow and evolve, I expect my inner melodies to evolve with me. We really appreciate you taking the time to chat with us! Do you have any shows or events coming up that you’d like to discuss? Thanks to everyone at BuzzMusic for having me! I really enjoyed chatting with you. I have some awesome new music coming your way so keep a lookout for some new singles from me before the end of the year! Right now, I’m working every day to refine my sound so I can successfully show fans who I am and what “Kidarah” is all about. Singing is more than just a career for me, it is my most beloved art form. I want to take my time to learn and grow in this industry and really establish myself as a talent unlike any other. I’m excited about the future and look forward to showing the world what I have to offer! Stay connected with the latest on Kidarah and her music via her socials below! - NEW MUSIC RADAR: Out Now, Jamie Alimorad’s Brand New Album “This Is Tomorrow Calling”
Jamie Alimorad is a talented, educated, and uplifting artist hailing from Boston’s underground music circuit. After graduating from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Music Technology, Jamie began releasing music into the Boston indie scene. His first two albums, “Cornerstone” and “Words Left Unsaid” garnered much attention all over the country and allowed Jaimie to partake in his first-ever nationwide tour. The gifted artist focuses on spreading his genre-bending sound to the world while managing to keep up the theme of emerging from his cocoon as a well-rounded musician, songwriter, and vocalist. Jamie’s much-anticipated new album, “This Is Tomorrow Calling”, is a ten-track full-length project with two successful singles already. The intro track “Brighter Days” is one of Alimorad’s most-streamed tracks on Spotify. The contagious pop track is epically cinematic and explosive. It’s no surprise that this single garnered such an attraction from listeners worldwide. Jamie’s uplifting lyrics, empowering hook, and flawless musicianship take center stage to impress and awe as an intro to his new album. “Not Just Another Pretty Face” begins with a bouncing piano riff and quickly erupts into a jazz-inspired cafe lounge vibe. The lyrics detail the intricate beauty of a female that Jamie values for more than the way she looks. The instrumentation is all the more spectacular with each individual listen, a definite early highlight in “This Is Tomorrow Calling”. “Down On Golden Shores” slows down the pace of the album tremendously we hear a slight change of genre once again. Jamie Alimorad gets vulnerable and raw with his lyricism. He meanders through the motions of the music with an admirable simplicity that’s easily accessible for all listeners. Another highlight on the album “This Is Tomorrow Calling” is another previously released single “Not Ready To Say Goodbye”. This track is a pleasant fusion of dance-pop with a Latin-inspired flair. "Not Ready To Say Goodbye" earning a 2019 Hollywood Music in Media Award nomination for Best Vocal (Male). “I Am Home” brings the listener back to a slow, beautiful and simplistic pace. A simple acoustic riff and Jamie’s Alimorad’s vocals demand attention throughout this song. The uplifting love song “I Am Home” details how Jamie’s lover is the epitome of being home and comfortable. “Rock Me To Heaven” is another classic hit, delivered with a smooth passion. You can really hear the soul in Jamie’s voice. He’s put his heart into each one of these tracks, especially this emotional intense single. Next up on the album, “Lucky Me” brings back the confident and groovy swagger to Jamie's sound. He sings about how grateful he is to be living in this world with the woman he loves, but the quirky lyricism takes a twist when Jamie says “The two best days of my life, one was finding her, the second one was losing her… Lucky Me”. It’s about overcoming tough situations and coming out brighter and better than ever. “How Could I Love Again?” is a gorgeously stripped-down piano ballad. We get another glimpse of Jamie Alimorad’s vulnerability and truly impeccable vocal range. The introspective track allows the listener to relate and take another look at their own outlooks on love. As the album “This Is Tomorrow Calling” approaches the conclusion, “A Moment Is All I Ask” brings us more delightfully beautiful contemplation from Jamie Alimorad. Whether this track is about a love lost, or someone close that no other with us, it’s easy to relate to too. Jamie completely captivates with his soft, hypnotizing vocals. Halfway through, “A Moment Is All I Ask” takes on a fuller soundscape, staying true to the cinematic, heart-warming theme of the overall album. The concluding track, and another brilliant ballad to take us through to the end, “Nights In The Back Bay” takes on a naturally pop-swing that Jamie Alimorad is best known for. Completely capturing the sentiments of the album and juxtaposed perfectly as the last track, it’s epically uplifting and satisfying. Teaming up with Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter and producer Gino Vannelli, and Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Ross Vannelli, the trio have crafted a collection of vocal-centric pop music on this new project “This Is Tomorrow Calling”. We love every bit of this 10-track release. It’s absolutely worth the time to listen through, we can’t wait to hear more from Jamie Alimorad! Listen to “This Is Tomorrow Calling” here and read more with Jamie Alimorad below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Jamie Alimorad! We're completely captivated by your sound--you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album This Is Tomorrow Calling?! Thanks so much for having me again! I'm excited to share This Is Tomorrow Calling with the world! This album has been the biggest undertaking of my life so far. I've gone through a complete transformation, not only as an artist, songwriter, and singer, but I also went through a metamorphosis as a person. This album would not be what it is without my producer, Gino Vannelli. Working with him was a dream come true, and he pulled things out of me I didn't know I was capable of. He pushed me so far out of my comfort zone, at times I didn't know where I was. It's amazing what happens when you're there. I found myself searching, and the more I searched, the less I would find. When I let things go, things would come to me. What I thought would be another pop/rock record, the next logical evolution from my previous album Words Left Unsaid, became something much more expansive and interesting. You've had such a strong love and passion for music! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? I grew up, and I grew into myself. I stopped chasing, and I started embracing. I struggled so hard at the beginning of this album. Whatever I demoed Gino would say it's okay, at best. When I finally hit on something, and we got it down, the lightbulb went off, and the rest of the album flowed. Lyrics are much deeper and more interesting on This Is Tomorrow Calling than my previous albums, and harmonically I'm exploring things that I had barely scratched the surface before. “Brighter Days” is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? I was talking with a close friend over dinner. We shared a lot of deep conversation about life, the world, philosophy, perspective, things that weave together constantly, but you don't really think about. I also found it enlightening and inspiring. Typically she is not very open, but that day something made her open up. I was really floored by the things she told me. Struggle that I had no idea existed. Her words, and feelings stayed with me, and I started writing. "Brighter Days" is a message of hope and love for her. I feel really blessed to be working with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention to raise funds for mental health and suicide awareness with this song. You can purchase "Brighter Days" t-shirts at http://tee.pub/lic/YNATvjUom2I. Many of the tracks on the album are intensely emotional. What track on your new project do you think forced you to channel to most emotions? Why? When I began writing and recording demos for the album, I was going in with the mentality of writing songs. I had no theming. The songs that came out worked really well with what I had been doing on previous releases, but I was feeling unfulfilled by them. Slowly I started writing material I felt confident in, and Gino liked what he heard, but when it came time for pre-production, his feelings had changed drastically. He felt it was all too vanilla, and boyish. He wanted me to step into the man I was growing into. I didn't know what to do. That's where the real story begins. He told me to turn over every stone in my soul. Look for the unexpected, and uncover what you may be hiding. When I confronted a lot of emotions that I had buried, that's when the music started to flow. Everything on this album is deeply personal. It explores, what I consider, the second coming of age, and self-realization. Two tracks on the album really brought out the most within me; "Down On Golden Shores" and "Nights In The Back Bay". Golden Shores is about some of my high school friends and I, and this patch of beach where we would hang out, and talk about the future. College was right around the corner and things were changing fast. As summers came and went, we'd still go there, but every year it seemed one less person would be part of the group until I was the last one. It's like watching your childhood fade away, and to think about what happened to some of my friends broke my heart. I wrote the song to them. All the things that I never got to say, and feelings that I was surprised still gripped my perspective. "Nights In The Back Bay" is a song about Boston. I'm a proud alumnus of Northeastern University, and Boston really shaped me as a person. For years I wanted to write a song about the city, and I had that title since my sophomore year. I didn't know how to properly capture the city until after a particular visit where I visited the old hangouts and caught a Red Sox game. The song came immediately. The excitement of going off to college had a fire burning in me that I hadn't had since I graduated. The fire returned when I began work on This Is Tomorrow Calling because I finally felt I was doing what I was meant to do. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future to promote This Is Tomorrow Calling? Artistically, and creatively, I'm always looking for what comes next. I want to write with some new people, and explore what I did with the Vannelli's even further. I'm absolutely BEAMING with excitement that on Saturday, October 12th, I'm playing the Saban Theatre (Beverly Hills, CA) with Gino Vannelli! I can't properly describe what that means to me. It will be my first show after the album releases, and to play that theater with him is the ultimate. I never dreamed of that. Tickets are still available at Eventbrite, but they're going fast! I'm beginning to look at 2020 dates, and hope to be performing in a lot of new, and familiar, places. - NEW MUSIC: Dirty Luxe Drops Debut EP “Filthy”
Dirty Luxe just dropped their debut EP “Filthy” and we’re bumping this 80’s inspired synth-pop project through the office. Beginning with the track “Saviour”, Dirty Luxe comes in with an explosive intro to introduce their listeners to their eclectic sound. The bouncing wave of dream-pop makes for an energetic beginning to “Filthy”. Next on the EP is “Rush”, this song blends elements of pop/rock fusion on a danceable backbeat. The autotune on Branson’s vocals are well suited to the overall sentiment and feeling of the track. “Rush” is equipped with a catchy hook leaving you craving more, and verses that bounce along the drum-line with precision and ease. “South Of Tokyo” changes the pace of the EP “Filthy” slightly, without losing the overall upbeat energy we’ve experienced thus far. The piece of music is more organic than anything we’ve heard on the EP so far, but it works well in balance. With more of an indie-rock feel, you feel more strongly connected with Dirty Luxe when you hear this track, especially if you're already a fan. The familiarity of a pre-released single is always fun to sing along to. “Maybe” is next up and was Dirty Luxe’s debut single. With an electronic and heavy feeling from the start, it’s no wonder they dropped these two diversely different tracks as singles. It showcases Dirty Luxe’s admirable versatility and creativity with ease. “For A Moment (Never-Ending)” lets Dirty Luxe’s listener see a more vulnerable and emotionally-rich side of the collective as we approach the conclusion of the “Filthy” EP. Still keeping up with the upbeat fashion that the rest of the project has taken on, “For A Moment (Never-Ending)” feels more honest and passionate than anything else. To finish off an impressive EP, “Remorse” comes in with a completely new sound. Charmingly retro, yet containing refreshing blends of dance-pop backing tracks. Branson truly shows his range and impressively admirable chemistry with the music through the heart and soul poured into every delivered lyric. Overall, “Filthy” is a brilliant debut EP. It shows off Dirty Luxe’s chemistry with one another and their extensive knowledge in contemporary music. Branson Bond, Geo Pavia, and Chris Noggle are the three members that makeup Los Angeles-based trio Dirty Luxe. They combine retro 80’s synth-pop from yesteryear with the familiar sounds of modern pop anthems to create a refreshing twist on a contemporary sound. Dirty Luxe’s music brings a new sound to the music industry with it’s accessible and familiar nature, yet seemingly authentic arrangements. Dirty Luxe's debut EP, “Filthy” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms! Welcome to BuzzMusic Dirty Luxe! It’s a pleasure to premiere your brand new EP “Filthy”! How long has this project been in the works? How did you decide on the two singles you released earlier this year? Filthy” has officially been in the works since January 2018. We had finally written a collection of songs with a sound that we felt was uniquely ours and decided it was time to take things to the next level by starting the recording process. “Maybe” and “South of Tokyo”, the two teaser tracks we released last year, were the first two tracks we had ever recorded in the studio. We’re always curious to learn more about how groups form! How did Dirty Luxe officially come to fruition? Did you know the other band members prior to creating the band? The three of us met in high school and immediately bonded over similar music tastes. Listening to a lot of alternative pop together, we decided to start casually jamming as a group and eventually became a fully-fledged collective. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new project “Filthy”? The entirety of the 80’s pop music era was a huge influence for us during the writing and recording process of “Filthy”. Everything from the synthesizer-driven hooks & 808 drums, to the colorful neon visuals that consumed the era definitely proved to be some of our biggest inspirations for this project. We felt the most emotionally affected by your song “For A Moment (Never-Ending)”! Can you tell us more about the inspiration and meaning behind this song? “For a Moment” was the final track written for the record. Initially, the song was sonically a lot heavier with some rock and grunge influences. However, once we started solidifying lyrics, we felt it would be best to maintain that signature Dirty Luxe synth-pop influenced the sound. We bounced around a few ideas for a solid 80’s-influenced breakdown and the track started to flourish from there. Lyrically, For A Moment is a discussion with oneself regarding self-doubt and hesitation. The idea that we are often the sole obstacle between our own selves and our biggest desires is the overarching theme of For A Moment. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any upcoming shows to promote “Filthy” in the near future?! We will most definitely be announcing some shows in the Southern California area to promote Filthy throughout the remainder of this year while we continue the recording process on our next project! :) www.instagram.com/dirtyluxemusic #BuzzMusic
- Tyler Kuhner’s Newest Single “Static” Should Be Played At High Volumes Only
Tyler Kuhner is a 27-year-old country-rock artist who has been making music from Chillicothe, Ohio for over a decade. After trying his hand in various rock bands throughout his teen years and early twenties, Tyler Kuhner made the move to a solo country-rock act. Inspired by acts like Bon Jovi, Bruno Mars, Nick Jonas, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, and many more, Tyler aspires to spread his authentic sound and relate to audiences everywhere with his original music. Tyler currently has two country-rock singles out now entitled “Love Like This” and “Static”. We had the pleasure of checking out “Static” and we are hooked! You can trust in high volumes for this entire record, classically rooted country vibes pour through organically and honestly, gritty yet blissfully melodic, and all the while these hard-hitting and compelling scenes and thoughts fill the room around you. From softness to weight, calm to chaos, Tyler Kuhner utilizes every element involved in order to craft something artistically relevant to the song’s underlying concept. “Static” is a song that takes full advantage of contrast and builds up through its various sections in a manner that feels perfectly united to the sentiments in the writing. We love what Tyler Kuhner brings to the table with “Static” and we can’t wait to hear what’s next! Listen to “Static” here and read more with Tyler Kuhner in our exclusive interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Tyler Kuhner! We love your authentic sound. How did you first get started making music when you were young? Was your childhood rich with musical influence? Music has always been a big part of my life. I began playing guitar at 14 years old self taught and picked up other instruments to such as Bass Guitar, Drums etc. Growing up I listened to all music. I have a wide variety of music I listen to. I’ve always been the biggest Bon Jovi fan but I listen to everything from Elvis to Thomas Rhett, Bruno Mars to Nick Jonas. I also enjoy harder rock such as the band Nothing More. “Static” is a great track! How would you introduce the sound, style, and intention of this release? “Static” has a more modern country sound to it. It has a country/rock style with big guitars, great lead play and a roll your window down sing along hook. After writing this song I felt like it was a song everyday people could relate too. It’s a concept that you haven’t heard yet lyrically. When you get started crafting a new track, how do you decide what to write about and in which direction to take things? I am a very observant person and pay close attention to detail. I try and stay in tune with the world around me and that helps with subject matter. I also typically write songs based on stories of my life or those around me. I like to write songs that everyday people can relate to, take the song and make it their song. We're incredibly excited to be featuring your newest song "Static"! Tell us about the recording process, and how the overall curative process was for this record? “Static” is a very special song to me because it’s a song that I Co-Wrote with my brother before he passed away November 12th, 2017. His name was Tristan Miller. The song was written lyrically and had the chord progression to go with it into the studio. The rest was built during the session from myself and my producer Will Carlson. Thanks for chatting with us Tyler! How do you think "Static" compares to your first release? How do you think your overall sound has progressed? They both have their own unique sound. “Love Like This” is more country/pop where “Static” is more country/rock. But they give me the freedom to continue to express myself in different ways and grow as an artist. I think it has progressed a lot and has come a long way. However, there’s always more room for improvement and I’m excited for what’s next. - Prepare Yourself With A Mellow Take On Alt-Rock With Mike Cerveni's Recent Releases!
Alt-rock artist Mike Cerveni is bringing an old-school, reminiscent rock sound back to BuzzMusic. The ambiance he emulates to his listeners is habitual and concentrated in such a complementary way to his overall sound. As an activist within the music community, Mike uses his platform ultimately as a means to give back, which sets his music apart from tons of music out there! We're impressed with Mike's ability to constantly give as an artist, through his music, and ultimately his actions. We'll always be here to support Mike Cerveni's music, and we're incredibly excited to introduce his latest two singles "Everything's For You" and "Forever" here on BuzzMusic! "Forever" is a more mellow rock track that will definitely have some emotions emit themselves. It is clear that throughout "Forever" Mike expresses his personal feelings with his love-life. We get a raw and open look at Mike, and how he has felt with a particular individual. We get to experience the questions and misunderstandings of significant others and ultimately portrays true love. Near the end of the song, it is clear that Mike has a deep love for the woman in question throughout "Forever", and we're presented with a love story that ends in the best way possible (spoil alert). Mike Cerveni, without any doubts, is able to connect with listeners for the sole purpose of fully opening himself up emotionally. We get to see an honest part of Mike's life, rather than a fabricated story that has no personal attachment. What we love the most is Mike's ability to take such a story, and embed it incredibly well into a natural, more calming rock rhythm. In his next single, Mike Cerveni is bringing back that old-school alt-rock sound we were used to hearing within the 2007-2011 timeframe. "Everything's For You" is a heavy-hitting track with a seriously powerful vocal delivery. We're impressed with the stability Mike maintains throughout the track, especially near the parts where it requires a heavy energy-surge in vocalism. Mike Cerveni does not waiver throughout "Everything's For You", and we knew we had a phenomenal rock track once we saw this type of utter commitment. Having a long tracklist, and tons of musical experience, we knew we were in for a real and authentic rock atmosphere when listening to the likes of Mike, and "Everything's For You" does not disappoint, in any way! Mike Cerveni captures the very essence of a more rugged execution and uses striking guitar riffs to amplify the song itself. The correct tone is there, and Mike inevitably elevates his sound through the hardcore beat curated for the track. "Everything's For You" and "Forever" is available on your favorite streaming platforms, and we highly recommend our BuzzMusic alt-rock listeners to give these tracks a chance, because they definitely won't disappoint! Check out "Everything's For You" here, as well as "Forever" here! Hey there Mike! Welcome to the BuzzMusic community! Can you share with our readers how the overall production of "Everything's For You" went? Thank you for having me be a part of the BuzzMusic community! Shortly after having my son Liam, I remember sitting on the edge of the bed and just playing around with some chords and it quickly became something more. I started with the melody of the chorus and just thought about Liam, who at the time was just a couple months old. Soon after I sent a demo to the studio I’ve done all my recordings at, SLR Studios here in Windsor, Ontario. I knew I wanted the production to be rock driven with big sounding drums. Once the drums and bass were added in the mix, everything sounded so full..it’s exactly what I thought it would be. But there was one thing missing…I thought how cool would it be if Liam was on the recording?? So I recorded him on my phone trying to make him laugh. We added those parts in the intro and outro of the song. Liam, now 2.5 years old, knows it’s his song and loves singing along to it! Can you describe where you drew your inspiration from in order to curate "Everything's For You" and "Forever"? Which track would you say was easier to write/record? “Everything’s For you” is a song written for my son Liam. It’s my wife’s first child and it’s something that definitely changes you, for the better. “Forever” is a story about how my wife, Melanie, and I met in Serbia while I was on vacation visiting family. “Everything’s For You” was the easier song to write and record I would say. “Forever” was an idea given to me by my cousin from Germany who had these chord progressions and I instantly came up with a chorus and lyrics to it. A few months later I flew to germany to do pre-production on “Forever” with my cousin and then brought the project back to Windsor to finalize it here. During the pre-production at the studio in Germany, I still had to finish the song lyrics and some of the melody. It was tough because I woke up with a headache or migraine but I knew I had to keep going because we had studio time booked. I sat on a couch while they were tracking acoustic guitar and I was trying to finish the verses. It was definitely difficult but I just thought of how I felt when I met my wife in Serbia and the writing process came easy from there. It's incredibly heartwarming with how much you give back to the community! Have you always known that you've wanted to contribute to others, with the help of your music? I think giving back to your community is important. Many songs on my first and current album are about going through the loss of my mom as she was battling cancer. Another song “What Would You Do?” is about seeing situations happen and passing them by, not wanting to intervene. Having these songs and being able to give back to the community by using local organizations like the Canadian Cancer Society or organizations that deal with homelessness or domestic violence, is a great feeling. Plus, I get to share music with a message to the people who may need it the most. What're the predominant changes you face within your music from when you first started creating, to now?! I think I definitely have a different outlook on life compared to when I first started creating music. Life is a big influencer in terms of what I write about. When I first started creating music is, it was in my teens and yo know, that’s full of lost relationships, teenage angst and all that. With my new album, it’s all about the love for my family. It was awesome to showcase your music here to our BuzzMusic listeners! Any parting words of inspiration to aspiring singer/songwriters out there?! Dream big. Always practice your craft and follow your heart and instincts when it comes to your own music. It’s important to get out there, get your music heard but most of all, create the music you want to create. Discover "BrokenHearts" here, as well as our interview with Lordus below! Hey Lordus! Great to have you here on BuzzMusic. Any words you'd like to share with our readers about the way you articulate your music?! Hey! Thanks for having me. That's a really great question, I would like my music to resonate with people. I want people to feel the way I felt listening to R&B growing up. Music that made me think about love and sustaining love, heartbreak and pushing through that. But more than anything I want people to enjoy my music and I want them to feel like their stories are being told through each song. "BrokenHearts" obviously had a powerful underlying story to it. Are you able to dive deeper into the honest meaning of the track? I was able to work with this dope songwriter (Ekela) that helped this idea come to life and did a great job at expressing unconditional love; BrokenHearts is about being there for someone and holding them down no matter what. I personally feel many people have that one person in their lives that they want to be there for whether it be a friend(s), partner or family that they love and want to see happy. So, it's not about one particular situation or person. How was it performing at the Coney Island Festival? Can you describe the type of energy your listeners were surging with while you were performing? Performing at Coney Island was intense! Nerve-wracking! But FUN at the same time. So, knowing that I grew up in Brooklyn not too far from Coney Island and watching people perform there I knew that it was something I wanted to do. And when I got my chance to perform I left it all on the stage and I knew that it was my time to put people on to my music and my talent. How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process? No, I can't say that at all. Both live performance and the writing/recording process has its own vibe. It's hard to put into words but with the live performance, you get to connect and feel each person's energy. And sometimes it could just be one but that within itself is a great feeling! But it's also the same in the studio; whether I'm the one writing or co-writing, the process of putting all the pieces together with everyone in the room (writer(s) & producer) and bringing an idea to life is dope; connecting with everyone and their ideas it's all just a vibe. It was amazing showcasing "BrokenHearts" to our listeners, and getting to know you as an artist in the process! Any words you'd like to leave the BuzzMusic community off with? Honestly, I just want to say thank you for taking the time out to listen to BrokenHearts and chatting with me. I appreciate you guys! And BrokenHearts is just the beginning of many great projects to come! Stay tuned! twitter.com/iamlordus instagram.com/iamlordus #BuzzMusic
