  • The Beautiful Indie-Soul Sounds Of Molly Shuvani

Songwriter Molly Shuvani is making waves and it's for good reason. The artist's Space Between LP is loaded with smooth melodies, harmonies, and a major piano-based pop style we can all use right now. There are several tunes that really stick out and to get a feel for them you can listen to the album on all the places you know and love. Out of these tracks, you get emotional backbone, and personality. Something that feels like it's been missing from a lot of music lately. "We Are" is her first single off the record and when you play it, you can literally hear how much fun she's having making it. The song has a great vibe and feels open and free. It leaves you grateful and inspired just to be yourself and that's what the song is about. We take our lives in our own hands and our lives can be what we desire. A great message and a great song. You can give this excellent effort a spin right here. facebook.com/mollyshuvanimusic mollyshuvani.bandcamp.com/releases instagram.com/pixiefaedynamite

  • Catching Up With Wanderraven

Wanderraven is everything you love about the independent music scene. We recently caught up with him to learn more about his next moves and his upcoming show at The Hotel Cafe. Thanks for taking some moments with us today. Please tell us about your upcoming October 4th show in Hollywood! I'm really excited to be returning to Hotel Cafe. This time I'll be playing the main stage at 7pm on Friday the 4th. It'll be good vibes for sure. Do you typically write from a musician standpoint first or as a lyricist and the music comes later? It varies. Most songs probably start with some sort of musical vibe or an idea. If it's an idea first, I'll try to make the music feel right for the idea. If it's music first, then usually melody follows and lyrics/concept follows. But truthfully it just depends on the day, who's in the room and what feels inspiring. It's all about tapping into the source of inspiration and chasing that rabbit. What is the last album you bought? I'm ashamed to say it's hard to remember in the age of streaming. Actually, I supported a fundraising campaign for Brent Shuttleworth's new album, which I'm excited about. He's an amazingly talented artist and a great friend so I pre-ordered his upcoming release and am super stoked to hear it. The first album you ever bought? The first album I ever bought with my own money was LIVE, Throwing Copper. Who are some vocalists that inspire you? This list is constantly evolving as there are so many great singers out there. Some of my all-time favorites are Van Morrison, Freddie Mercury, Stevie Nicks, and Chris Cornell. Newer favorites include Ed Sheehan, Khalid, and Sam Harris (X Ambassadors). What do you do in your spare time when you are not out touring or in the studio? Aside from spending time with family and friends, I love to be outside. Hiking, surfing, snowboarding - any sort of outdoor activity gets me going. I also love to travel, eat well, watch movies, listen to podcasts. How can we best support you and your new music? Stream away and tell your friends. I still feel like the best way to discover new music is by hearing about it from your friends. So I ask anyone that streams my music to please add it to their playlists and share it with their friends. Also, come see me perform when I'm in your area. I also love playing private parties so if you're interested, reach out! wanderraven.com instagram.com/wanderraven www.facebook.com/wanderraven

  • F4CADE Will Stun You With Their Transformative Take On Indie Stylings In "Sand"!

Wow. We listen to the soundings of F4CADE and immediately get put into an eccentric atmosphere. Their sound is pure, it is genuine and ultimately alluring. We are captivated by the energy F4CADE can manifest, and blend into her music with a certain subtleness. Straight out of the UK, F4CADE is the type of band that is curating music that will change your perspective on indie music as a whole. We have to say that F4CADE is transforming their category, which all of our BuzzMusic listeners know is incredibly pivotal and metamorphic to such a music scene. F4CADE is heavily influenced by old-school stylings, and yet creates a sound that is completely "au courant" as the French would say. We love their ability to assimilate a diversified indie song, and we're incredibly pumped to announce their release of "Sand"! "Sand" is mysterious right from the get-go. It immediately introduces and unravels itself into a calming and angelic atmosphere. F4CADE takes her vocal delivery to a next level with "Sand", and we're ultimately impressed by their ability to maintain the entire haunting ambiance throughout the track. Eclecticism is undoubtedly a source of inspiration for "Sand", and we're presented with that unique indie sound we love to emulsify ourselves in! It can be definitively said that F4CADE is making art when it comes to the curation of her music. "Sand" is no exception, and we feel the artistic elements on F4CADE's part that was required for such a production. "Sand" is already added to our playlists, and we highly recommend it be added to any indie lovers playlist too! You can discover "Sand" here, as well as F4CADE's interview with us below! Hey F4CADE! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can each of you introduce yourselves to our listeners, and include your personal goal within music? Angel: Hi I’m Angel, I’m the lead singer, I play the synth in the band and I’m also a songwriter. Haha I don’t know about a personal goal within music - that’s very broad - to play piano like Mozart without practicing every day?? That would be good but I think I’d need a genie to help me out a bit with that one... Henri: I’m Henri and I’m the lead guitarist as well as writing a couple of songs here and there. My goal would definitely be to play guitar with my feet - no - yes - like a true virtuoso. Dermot: Hi, my name is Dermot and I play fretless bass - my personal goal is to be heard... "Sand" was transformative in the most important way possible. We truly believe that F4CADE is contorting the indie music scene, and curating music that converts the entire category into something new and innovative! What was the ultimate goal for F4CADE as a band, and the sound you each wanted to fully embody through the bands projects? Dermot: Thanks! Our ultimate goal as a band is to exude creativity in everything we do. Our sound is an extension of that - we’ve brought together countless influences to create something that doesn’t sound quite like anything else. The most important thing to us is that we don’t try and fit a particular formula, we just focus on creating something that’s unique and true to our artistic vision. How has the evolution of F4CADE progressed, starting from when the band was first releasing music, to now? Henri: Well we started as kind of hippie 60’s acoustic duo back in June last year - We did that for around half a year but then we started recording music which sounded completely different to our live stuff so we decided to add Dermot and Jamie and take our live music in a more electronic direction. Our first EP used drum machines because we recorded it before we had a drummer but we changed that up for Sand - we’re really happy with how our sound has evolved and we can’t wait to make more new music! What's the biggest creative challenge F4CADE faces as a band? Henri: My hair going flat halfway through gigs. Angel: Dermot putting on his own lipstick. We'll always remain captivated by the sound of F4CADE. It was a treat to be featuring such transforming music here on BuzzMusic! What's the plan now for F4CADE, after the release of "Sand"? Angel: Aw thank you so much! Well, we’ve just finished recording two tracks at The Old Hit Factory studio (where Rick Astley’s old stomping ground haha) and we are about to start filming the music video for our next release in an old hotel by the seaside... • Up And Coming Canadian Artist Ben Releases Heart-Wrenching Single “Falling Forward”

Talented indie artist Ben is based in a Canadian small town with a low very population. Ben creates music to envoke emotional reactions from his listeners. He has been working away and establishing his sound and craft from the ground up. With a slew of songs ready for release, he’s ready to show the world his breathtaking music that will pull on the heartstrings of any listener. “Falling Forward” is a beautiful introspective acoustic track that takes the listener on a journey through Ben’s trials and tribulations with love. He hones in on the frustrating feelings of looking back and wondering if he would have done things differently to avoid the pain and heartbreak he feels now. A truly touching song that is close to Ben’s heart, he is vulnerable and real with his audiences but manages to let the lyricism be vague enough so his fans can relate to “Falling Forward” on a deeper level. I highly recommend you check out the inspiring new song. “Falling Forward” takes the listener on a brilliant musical journey of emotions and incredibly well-executed acoustic arrangements. Stay on the lookout for Ben and his future musical endeavors! Listen to “Falling Forward” here and stay tuned for our exclusive interview with Ben! Welcome to BuzzMusic Ben! Can you tell us more about your upbringing and how you got started in your music career? Thank you!  First, let me say that I appreciate so much what you are doing in giving independent artists a voice!  I was raised in a home where music was very important and was taught to look at circumstances from many different perspectives... it helped me to see the "other persons point of view"  which I feel has helped me become very empathetic to people's feelings, and in turn has hopefully helped me to write songs that people can really relate to.  Because music has just "been in my blood" from day one, it's hard to say how it really started, it has always just been part of me! Can you dive into the meaning of “Falling Forward”? What inspired it? When situations happen in my life, every emotion hits really hard.... I mean, I think I really take things in very deeply, and I think on things probably way more than I should... "Falling Forward" is so much about part of me wishing that I could let some things roll off you know?  Part of the song is very much thinking back on very precious and fragile relationships I may have had... that if I would have just been able to not take things so hard, that maybe I could have been stronger for people that really needed me.  I guess the song is really saying that no matter what has happened, and what we wish could have been different, we are hurled into the unknowing aspects of the present day and future, and that life goes on... whether we are ready for it to or not. What’s your creative process like? What emotions do you channel when writing new material? Because the emotions are always so present with me, it's just a matter of quieting the outside influences of the world, and just pouring out what is inside of me.  Sometimes it is like tuning into a radio station, the song is just there in surround sound.  Sometimes I will get some very moving music idea, and the words begin to pour out.  That is what happened with "Falling Forward"  the music came out so strong and the words followed.  It's different every time to some degree.  But I think being receptive to the emotions in the moment is key.  There are songs crying out to be written - you just have to allow yourself to be truly venerable in the moment. What do you hope your fans take away from "Falling Forward"? I hope that they can relate to the ache of wishing that in their lives they may have been able to do things differently, but at the same time realizing that we cannot change the past... that whether we like it or not we are continuously hurled through time and we are moving forward - we might as well embrace this fact and do what we can now.  I hope in some ways that this song is a big warm hug that says "you know what? we did the best with what we had in the moment, we will always have things we wish we could have done better, but we are all in this journey together, and in some ways, I hope you know that I feel and can relate to what you are going through!" What are you currently working on? We can’t wait to hear more! Thank you so much for this question!  I have always done pretty much every genre of music!  So whatever moves me at the time is what I will work on next!  Please follow me on Facebook, Instagram and Youtube, and if you are a music lover, I promise that you will be diving into an interesting journey for sure!  I have recently worked on a hip hop/rap song and music video called "the struggle" that is basically about being a human trying to survive in this world, and have just completed a song in electronic style genre called "while my music gently weeps".  I have hundreds of songs recorded, in various styles, so hopefully, I will have the time and the inspiration to keep making videos and putting stuff up!  Thank you for the opportunity to share with you today! It’s very catchy, but also incorporates an integral message within. Can you explain to our readers the truth that is embedded within the track? Yes, “Don’t Hurt Me” is an anthem for Domestic Abuse Awareness disguised as a break-up song. You can take its message either way, but this song is especially important to me because my sister suffered a domestic violence beating that ultimately led to her death. Domestic violence and abuse impacts the whole family. Please end the silence, stop the violence. Get help at 1(800)799-SAFE. We’re always curious to learn more about how bands form! How did Joe Normal & The Anytown’rs officially come to fruition? Did you know the other band members prior to creating the band? I’m originally from New Jersey, and met each of the guys on the old Hollywood scene when all our bands used to play together. We’ve connected again recently through the various projects we’ve played with. Bands like Izzy Stradlin (Guns n Roses), Dramarama (Anything, Anything), Aimee Mann, and Sammy Hagar. I began putting together The Anytown’rs after seeing Bruce Springsteen for the first time in 2016. I was ready to quit the music business, feeling totally defeated and lost, but I was so uplifted after that show that it gave me the confidence and determination to keep going. I’ve assembled the finest band of musicians and friends, and together we raise the torch for classic Rock ‘n Roll music high and mighty. Rock ‘n Roll is… Alive ‘n Well... in Anytown USA! Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your new song “Don’t Hurt Me”? The artists that have had the greatest impact on me are the ones who have not only written great songs, but have used their celebrity to help others, to speak up and speak out, to draw attention to causes. Artists like John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Neil Young, Bono. They are my Rock ‘n role models. So even at the indie and local level, I get involved with causes that are meaningful to me such as the Autism & Special Needs Community, Workers Rights, Homeless Aid, and American Veterans. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? As a Singer-Songwriter who fronts a Rock Band, my goals are to continue telling my own story through the music and to create a body of work that will remain relevant for generations. We don’t follow what’s trendy, we just play organic classic guitar based songs for everyday regular people that can be sung in any setting from pubs and coffeehouses, to theaters and arenas. I want to swing between gigs at all levels while putting out records and continue making an impact in the lives of many more people who need an uplift and reminder to never give up on your dreams despite your struggles. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any shows in the near future? We are partnering with The Ed Asner Family Center to release a fundraiser single to promote hope among Special Needs families and their loved ones through the enduring power of rock and roll music. As a parent of a child with Autism Spectrum Disorder, I want to give back to organizations that have a direct impact on families like ours. • The Voice Contestant Anthony Paul Brings Pop-Eclectica Back In The Best Way!

Singer/songwriter hailing from Twinsburg, Ohio, is Anthony Paul. Not being confined to one category, Anthony curates music that is pop-eclecticism. We're mesmerized by the tempo Anthony can maintain throughout his tracks, and ultimately impressed by his vocalism. Anthony Paul has a dynamic set of vocals that won't go unnoticed by any listener, that's for sure! Performing in countless shows with a variety of audiences, Anthony has already set out to gain pivotal experience from the music world itself. Furthering his education with academia, Anthony has a long list of "prerequisites" one could say, to the music world, which not only includes his long performance list, or his academia itself, but also the fact that he's appeared (and went pretty far into) The Voice, being on both Team Ceelo, and Team Christina! We're aspired by his passion and will to pour himself into music, and definitively fascinated by his artistic skills. Anthony's latest song: "Free". The rhythm of Anthony's latest track "Free" is completely bubbly and vivacious. He's lyricism is inspiring, and his vocal execution is similar to the likes of Lukas Graham, yet combined with a more house/electronic production. We're receiving a highly inspirational message from Anthony on this particular track. "Life's too short to keep you waiting [..] But now I'm free, free forever, free to be whoever. Not gonna worry about tomorrow". We can feel the passion emit itself from the voice of Anthony in "Free," and we appreciate the performance he provides for the track. The melody is captivating with its angelic elements, and the echoing effects added into "Free" is what will make it feel heavenly to any listener. You can expect "Free" to be a hit in various musical categories, as the song is now limited to one genre, but captures the essence of a variety of genres. Anthony Paul is an artist with a stellar voice and the knowledge to what sounds go well with such a voice (we can probably attribute that aspect to his extensive music academia). If your Spotify needs an inspirational track (and let's be fair, most of us need some inspiration), then "Free" should be added immediately! Check out "Free" here, and get to know Anthony Paul through his exclusive interview below! Hey there Anthony! Great to feature "Free" here on BuzzMusic! The song features a variety of rhythms and melodies that make for an angelic atmosphere. Did the initial production take long in order to achieve the right sounding for this track? Hi! Thank you so much for have me on BuzzMusic, this is very exciting for me! I started producing and writing “Free” in March of 2017. I knew what I wanted the song to sound like, I could literally hear it in my head. The problem was that I didn’t have the music production skills at the time to create “Free” into what it is today. It literally took 2 years and some extremely appreciated music production courses at Crē•8 Music Academy in West Hollywood to achieve the angelic and freeing atmosphere you hear in the song today. "Free" clearly has an inspirational message behind it. Besides our own take from the song, what was the pivotal message you wanted to communicate across to your listeners with "Free"? The main message that I hope every listener gets out of “Free” is to live your one-of-a-kind, unique life, the best way you know how, unapologetically; and to never worry about what others do or say about you in the process. You only have one life and you already know that your mortality is inevitable, so live your life now while you can and stay on your own path. Are you able to describe the development of your sound, from when you first began your musical career, to now? How do you feel you have ultimately progressed through the music world, amidst all the challenges you have faced artistically? When I first started creating my original music, it was mostly in the realm of R&B/Pop. I started making music right after being on “The Voice” and after performing songs on the show that fell into those genres, I sort of stuck to it because that’s what people seemed to like from me. As I got older and really started to find myself, I realized that something was missing and that I needed to start developing my own personal sound. At first, I stuck with ballads, but I love upbeat music and I love to dance. I’m grateful to have a strong singing voice that I can manipulate genre to genre, so I decided why not be a collection of all my favorite genres. If I want a more instrumental piano ballad then I’ll make one, if I’m feeling a Dance/Pop bop, then I’ll make one. I really try not to box myself in anymore and as we see in the music industry today, genres as we know them are breaking down and blending together more and more. What would you say was the most integral message learned from an artists perspective such as yourself, from being on The Voice?! The greatest lesson I learned from being on the voice is that no amount of fame is worth having if you can’t be yourself while trying to achieve it. I was 18 years old when I was on “The Voice”. I am a completely different person now and I am grateful for that. The version of myself that was on “The Voice” lacked confidence and thought that if he worked hard enough, he would be a star, share his music around the world, be perfectly happy, and that’s all that mattered. He was so reserved and not truly happy at all. I think not winning that show was the biggest blessing for me because I wasn’t ready, and as I grew older, I realized that.  I wasn’t ready to be the artist I always dreamed I would be because I wasn’t comfortable in my own skin. On the outside I may have exuded confidence but, on the inside, I was so worried about how other people perceived me and what I needed to do for people to like me, it was so exhausting. It wasn’t really until after the show when I went to college, where I gained pride in myself, learned to love myself, and embrace all the pieces that make me who I am. In a way, I feel that “Free” was my real debut as an artist because it’s the first time that I was being my most authentic self. What a treat to be featuring you and your music here on BuzzMusic! It was amazing to hear your recent work! Are you planning on performing anywhere in the near future to promote "Free", or potentially a possible album? Yes! Thank you for having me! All I can say now, is that as for my music it’s been a long time coming. I am working on so many projects right now that I cannot wait to share. I’m really just focusing on working and releasing my art without pressuring myself as much as I normally do. You should definitely be on the lookout for new things to come before the end of the year. I am grateful to have childhood friends now living here in LA that love to create and collaborate, so I would definitely pay attention. • NEW MUSIC VIDEO: Indré Releases New Hit “Nostalgic Candy”

Indré strives to touch the hearts of her listeners with her captivating vocals and emotive songwriting abilities. Her latest release, “Nostalgic Candy” is a dreamy new pop tune with exciting new visuals to match! Throughout the music video for “Nostalgic Candy,” Maddie Indré showcases her skills as both a gifted songwriter and performer. With many nostalgic references and funny moments, the video remains upbeat and light-hearted. Everything from the colorful setting, the flash mob-style dancing and a brief moment of flawless air guitar, “Nostalgic Candy” brings back highlights from this previous year. The light and bouncing melody will be caught in your head for days along with the sing-along chorus. Indré delivers both a delightfully energetic presence and a comfortable relatability with her music. The new single cascades around you as this stunning wave of carefully selected moments, progressing quickly from dreamlike to rhythmically engaging and making perfect sense in the process. The song successfully envelops its audience for the full extent of its lifespan. “Nostalgic Candy” has elements of retro-pop fused with a contemporary and authentic Indré flare. Listen to “Nostalgic Candy” here and read more with Indré below! Congratulations on the single “Nostalgic Candy”. What can you tell us about this song? What prompted you to write it? I wanted to write a song with a pop sensibility that set an empowering tone. Songwriting is a huge part of my life, so I had a few poems that fit the concept, and I just paced around my house, and played around on keys and guitar until it came together. What do you think is the most stand-out lyric in “Nostalgic Candy”? “We burn the bridge at both ends for a distance between us that was already there from the start. Up from too deep, too fast, I got the bends, stopped the vessels, cut off all of the blood to my heart” This lyric is a metaphor that compares the decompression sickness that scuba divers can experience when they come up to the surface too quickly, to really being in deep with another person and then before you know it, you’re out of the water reflecting on it all. What inspired the fun new music video? I wanted to create a contrast between where the lyrics were coming from and this video. So we went for something silly and colorful. What are some of the key values you aim to represent with your music? I want my music to represent honesty. Songwriting and performing are my outlets, so I aim to express my truths and hopefully help somebody in the process. What can we expect from you going through to the end of 2019!? I’ve got some releases on the horizon. Stay tuned with upcoming releases by Indré via her socials below! Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

Grey Genius has been writing and recording music since the young age of 11 years old! This type of raw experience within music is pivotal. Grey Genius has been able to spend years mastering her sound, and we can definitively say that she's done exactly so. Her music is methodically written and produced, which makes a huge difference in terms of the overall execution. Grey Genius has released a multitude of musical work, crafting her sound throughout the years to fully capture her true essence. Predominantly residing in the R&B/hip-hop/soul category, Grey Genius adds a variety of elements to her sound in order to create a fully embodied experience for each listener. Grey Genius will have you feeling tranquil, and completely stress-free for the moments her voice is in your ears. The various octaves she is able to reach with her voice, yet in the softest way possible, is warming. Sultry and voluptuous is what describes the underlying melody of "Double Up". Grey Genius is able to take the listener on a journey with her track and makes our heart feel full for the entire 3 minutes and 16 seconds. Her voice is confident, unwavering, and sensual. It's possible that at some points throughout "Double Up" you'll receive goosebumps at the very tone of Grey Genius. Aside from the silky vocal delivery, Grey Genius has powerful lyricism, bringing the listener on an emotionally painful, but elemental and raw experience. Grey Genius could never be an artist to look over, her musical offerings are always phenomenal, and we never expect to be disappointed with her as an artist. Authenticity pours off of Grey Genius in such a graceful way, and we're feeling extremely lucky to feature "Double Up" on BuzzMusic. We can guarantee that the R&B/soul community cannot miss out on the likes of Grey Genuis, and what she's able to curate artistically. Discover "Double Up" here, and check below for our interview with Grey Genius! Welcome to BuzzMusic Grey Genius! We're completely captivated by your sound--you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album "Late Nights Cool Drinks"?! Thank you for that, I do appreciate it. The intention behind the order was to start on a higher mood sonically and start smooth. I wanted the flow of the EP to be from light to heavy in terms of sound and concepts of songs. It was also a therapeutic release for me, so the songs that you hear were written for the most part before I started to put them together as one body of work. You've had such a strong love and passion for music at such a young age! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? I can say I've gotten more honest with each project. Starting out I mimicked much of what I heard from music I listened to. I wasn't really speaking from my perspective; it was terrible lol. Now I'm closer to my own sound and closer to being completely honest in my music. Also, I just write better. I'm able to say the things I want and have the listener receive it the way I want them to. I definitely still have room to get better though for sure. "Double Up" is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? Thank you. I was inspired by relationships and how sometimes a person may get the short end of the stick once those relationships are through. Then that person copes with drinking. Not saying that is the best decision, but it happens that way sometimes. It’s a real part of life and I just wanted to share that over a smooth beat. We know that you're a lover of integrating a variety of elements in your music. Would you ever incorporate contrasting genres into your music, or do you think it would ruin the type of sound you're attempting to reach? I most certainly would. Rock, include more Jazz and possibly Country are the genres I can think of. I don't think it would ruin it at all. Music, when it’s made with patience and authenticity and from a pure place, just works. So, I do want to continue to experiment and see what comes of it. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future to promote "Late Nights Cool Drinks"? I am playing shows in the Midwest for sure and those can be found on my website GreyGenius.com. I would love to get out to other parts of the country for sure when the time is right. Next, I'm gearing up to go back in the studio to create my next project and I'm excited about that. Aside from that, I'm gonna’ keep promoting "Late Nights Cool Drinks" for as long as I can, so that as many people as possible can hear it. Catch up with the most recent musical works of Grey Genius via her socials below! Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Exclusive Interview With Artist Hotwork On Recent Music!

Hey Hotwork! Tell us all about your new track “Part Time"!? What inspired it? I like to think of “Part Time” as a ‘west coast pop banger love ballad’.  What inspired the song was people’s constant obsession with their phones and their image leading to an overall lack of connection. I was also dating someone at the time that this was written, and she was throwing out all kinds of mixed signals making the line too hard to define so it’s inspired by that as well. I wrote the song with Jonah Weinreich and Jack Polson well over a year ago. We produced it out immediately and the song has pretty much been in its current state since then. Will there be an upcoming music video to match? Yes! The video comes out Friday, September 27th. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? This song, “Part Time”, is the song I’d choose. I’ve been working hard over the last year really trying to refine my craft and create a cohesive vibe across my music. I feel like I’ve finally been able to find that sound with this song, and the releases I have set to follow. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? To create better music every day and continue growing my platform so that music can reach more people. Touring will definitely be the focus as I roll out more and more tracks from the new record. We’re currently booking dates for a run that’s slated for late 2019. Another goal of mine as an artist/producer is to chart on the Hot 100. I’m ready for my music to reach millions; that’s why I’ve been a lot more interested in scoring films and television as well lately. It exposes your sound to an even broader audience. A huge part of my process lies in collaboration with other artists. I’m learning as I find my own sound, I also inherently aid those to find theirs as well. It’s in that space where I know I have a potential hit on my hands and that’s what’s kept it really exciting for me. What do you think sets you apart from mainstream music today? Hotwork’s sound has always been about keeping the heart of the traditional singer/songwriter vibe and marrying it with the synthesized electronic sound we hear popularized today. I like to think of my beats as literal punctuation to the stories being told. And I don’t shy away from effects on the vocals, rather I lean into them almost as a way to field the emotions and convey tone. What do you hope to achieve through the remainder of 2019? I want to keep expanding my network of amazing collaborators and I want to write 10x as many songs as I did this year. I will be continuing to play good shows in and around the Los Angeles area collaborating with other dope artists. See you out there. • Listen Now: Reefah Talks New Single "Soft Like Wata"

Hello Reefah! It's awesome we got a chance to feature your latest music here on BuzzMusic! How has the curation process been lately for you and your music? First off I'd like to say Thank you BuzzMusic once again for this opportunity to share my music on your platform it's truly a blessing. Being that I still work a full-time job I have to organize my time and use it efficiently. Music and Ideas are always flowing through me constantly so it's always important for me to record or write down any rough ideas I have on my phone so I can work on them at a more appropriate time. Some songs take weeks or even months to write where some songs are created and written in a few hours. As a songwriter, I've learned to not rush any of my songs and let them come naturally and from the heart. "Soft Like Wata" is definitely a track that will catch any listeners attention! What kind of elements do you believe are integral to the production of your music that makes it memorable? Being that I am Canadian born I still feel my music has the cultural elements that let's the listeners know that I still have a connection to my roots and culture. I've been told on many occasions that although I'm Canadian l speak with a slight accent that gives people the impression that I was born elsewhere. I also believe that because my music is produced in Jamaica with many experienced musical individuals who understood my music and my message it was easy for them when we collaborated and things flowed naturally. We heard that the instrumental for the track was both recorded and produced at Tuff Gong Studios! How was the experience of recording your music in that particular studio? From the very beginning of my musical journey Tuff Gong has been that place where in the beginning I could only dream of going to, but as time progressed it became a place I wanted to work to get to. To finally be there I couldn't help to think about where all those long days and nights by myself have taken me. It's one of those reassuring moments in life where you know believing in yourself and working hard can take you anywhere you dream of going. It was an honor and a privilege to work there and to walk where some of the greatest Legends in Reggae music have walked. The experience was unreal at times and it just made me want to work even harder. What was the main inspiratory element that made you create "Soft Like Wata"? Simply Love. Or the idea of 2 people who have strong feelings for each other and want to take their relationship to another level. The idea of 2 people loving each other and being there for each other and creating something special together. For some its difficult and I understand that. I just wanted to write a nice genuine love song that wasn't provocative or too "lovey dovey" as some might say. A song that even a single person would like because that's the kind of love they hope to have one day. Can you tell us more about how live performances are for you? What kind of energy is surging in your audience while you're on stage? I have yet to perform live on stage but that is definitely something you will be seeing sometime in the near future. My main priority has always been to create a catalog of songs before I even think about performing on stage. Things are manifesting as the reader reads this article. I believe everything happens in its rightful place and time. I look forward to being able to connect with an audience and the people who support my music and people who may have never even heard me before. A little birdy told us that you're planning on curating another album in the near future. When can we expect some new releases from you?! I have recently finished writing my next album but I'm not in any rush to release anything for the rest of the year. As a new artist I've learned to understand that my music will take a little more time to reach a larger audience so therefore I still have to continue to promote the music I've created so far. Any new music will be released sometime in the new year. I plan on going back to Jamaica to record my album. My team and I have been working on the music and I can honestly say the next album will sound different from my last album. You might possibly see a few singles released within that time. I'll definitely keep you posted. Connect with Reefah on social media: Instagram Facebook #BuzzMusic
