Nic D also known as “The Gardener" is planting his seeds of inspirational and thought-provoking messages by combining his clever lyrics with a mainstream sound. You can learn all you need to know about “Real Life” just by reading the lyrics of the chorus: “Tell me what it feels like, When you get that thing in real life Is it really want you wanted? Or just another thing you didn’t like Go and add it to the list then Get it out of your system It’s just part of the addiction For everything you think's missin’ Can your fans expect a new music video to match? This year I have been putting out a single with a music video every 2 weeks. For the “Real Life” music video I had fans submit footage of themselves dancing and singing to the song. I wanted the people who support me to have an opportunity to be creative and create something with me. The result was something very organic and special for me. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? Whether people listen to my music on a regular basis or are just hearing it for the first time, I always hope they pay attention to the lyrics. I put a lot of energy and thought into what i say in my songs. I strive to always have a message or a piece of knowledge that I believe to be true. Other than making music, how else does your creativity manifest? I own a photography and cinematography company so, I’m constantly creating. I edit all of my own music videos and take part in the directing process as well. Do you have any events or shows happening you’d like to talk about? Congrats on the release of your new single “The Dragon Song”! What does this song represent for you? The song represents my own personal struggle with really being vulnerable and letting people in. One of the most beautiful experiences we get in this life is true intimacy and connection, and we can’t have it without letting our walls down. I have been trying to remind myself of this. The song was inspired by the Brene Brown quote “Vulnerability is the last thing I want you to see in me, but the first thing I look for in you.” Where is the best setting to listen to “The Dragon Song”, and what do you hope people take away from it? You wouldn’t listen to it in a crowded bar or a club or anything like that. I’d say the best place would be to listen to it with headphones in a car or train. From this song, I hope that people absorb the idea that letting your walls down may come with the price of letting people see both the good and the bad in you, but showing them all of you is worth it because it shows you just how much someone can love you for who you are. What’s your favorite lyric that you feel has the most impact in “The Dragon Song”? Why? “That voice again says leave that mask on girl. You need to stay strong.” This is my favorite lyric because I think we all know what’s good for us, but we always have that inner critic or the devil on our shoulder steering us back to old habits. What’s your creative process like? What emotions do you channel when writing new material? My creative process is usually triggered by an emotion. My guitar and my journal are my safe place to feel what I’m feeling and explore the emotion. If I feel an emotion that needs to just pour out of me, whether it be positive or negative I’ll usually sit down with my guitar and let it flow. Until very recently, most of my songs have been an outlet for negative emotions. It wasn’t long ago that I fell in love for the first time and now my songs have taken a turn for that direction. Do you have any upcoming events or shows you’d like to talk about? What’s next for you through the end of 2019? This Saturday I’m playing at Fat Cat in Tahoe City, CA. Formed in 2017, JabberMouth is an unflinching, fast-paced, kick you in the teeth, punk-rock band from Los Angeles, CA. Their adrenaline drenched sound has been curated by years of listening to and playing songs by bands like Black Flag, Misfits, and Circle Jerks. With a title like Bomb Cyclone, you may think the fresh release from Weekend Weather is aggressive or maybe even dark. It's not. As a matter of fact, it's much brighter than the title depicts. Welcome back, Talia! For those of you who don’t know, how would you describe your sound and approach to making music? My musical sound is a unique blend of pop with electronic dance undertones. There are layers of hip hop influence in my beats and vocals generally are immersed in r&b/soul tones. When making music I always dig deep and really write from the perspective of my outlook on life. My lyrics generally are very uplifting and motivating, but also makes one think about the purpose of life and making the best use of your time. I’m always thinking about my dreams and goals for life, so that inevitably comes through in my lyrics and overall song themes. Congrats on the release of your new song “Unstoppable”! What does this song represent for you? This song really represents my outlook on the future. Every lyric is written to bring hope and inspiration. I believe that words are incredibly powerful and I wrote this song with the intention of every word to speak life and encouragement to every person whose ever had a dream that seemed impossible. My main purpose of my music is to open people’s eyes to realize how much potential is inside them. Everyday people hear words of doubt & negativity which can really dampen a person’s hope. “Unstoppable” is a reminder to every person that their dreams are achievable, their vision can be accomplished, and you will bless and impact those around you because you didn’t give up. I’d say you could listen to this song anywhere. My main hope is that when people listen to this song, they are energized, their hope is renewed, perspective becomes positive, and overall that you feel unstoppable. Encouragement can really change a person's trajectory in life. Just as words of doubt can defeat someone, words of hope can radically transform a person’s life for the better. What’s the concept behind the brand new music video? The music video concept was created to be an introduction of who I am as an artist. I wanted to give viewers a look at my personality, somewhat silly side, and overall a way to know me better. I would say ‘Unstoppable’ really describes my sound accurately since it’s my most recent work. The overall theme of the song really encompasses who I am as an artist and my music style. What are the main values you hope to represent as an artist? The main values I want to represent as an artist would be hope and inspiration through dynamic music that really emphasizes the overall theme of living out your dreams and purpose for life. Hey Kerith Chirhal! Great to be showcasing some of your new music on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about your personal upbringing within the music world? Hi, thanks a lot for having me. I have loved music since day one. It has always been my passion and it has also been a whole process (still continuing) to develop myself. I started writing songs from a very young age. I watched some shows on TV, I was in a choir from 2013 to 2017; I learned a lot there and I am so grateful for that experience, and so many other stuff... Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners? I personally believe it is, yes. But sometimes they tend to think that everything I write or sing is only about me but it's not the case haha. I write a lot, and usually, it's not about my own experiences. "Try Again" was an incredibly versatile and catchy. Where did you draw the inspiration to create this particular type of sound? Thank you. I wanted to bring some different vibezzz to the music I made before. My inspiration came from the need to improve and refine my work you know. And I thank JW Bonilla and Ralami a lot for helping me through the process. How would you say that "Try Again" compares to the kind of music you curated when you first started out as an artist?! First of all, I really love 'Try Again' and I was working on that project for a long time (I prefer not to call it an EP for some reasons, so it's more a project). It includes the Remix version I did of my first single 'Life is Like' with the participation of JC247 an amazing Cuban rapper. And the second track is called 'Enough (Me Lasser)' which is the french version of my single 'Enough'. I felt like my french listeners needed to know exactly what's was going on in that track. And finally, there is 'Powerful' that I recorded with Rayden and Mshairi. I love them. It's a cover song that I really wanted to do, to send it as a support for the people struggling around the world. I feel like if we have a gift, we must use it for things that really matter. That's the story behind 'Try Again' haha. Do you prefer the more intimate singing/songwriting process over live performance? How do you personally feel when you're performing your music live? That's something I have always wanted to talk about. As much as I love writing songs and being in the studio, I prefer performing live. Cause it just feels different and it's great to see how people react to your song. I love performing live and the energy that comes with all the rehearsals, it just feels different and great. I am Controversy and my brother is Big D, together we make up Loyalty Is Timeless. We describe our music a lyrical soul food and great vibes. The process for this particular track was that I was in the car heading to the gym listening to the beat on repeat. I ended up having a feed hooks, but our next studio session we decided to record it last minute. Big D ended up freestyling his verse and it was a smash from there with the energy and vibe we brought to it. What was the concept of the music video? What was the filming process like? The concept of the music video was just to match the vibe and energy of the track with beautiful women around with Loyalty Is Timeless the center of attention. Graveyard of the Atlantic is band made up of seasoned musicians that all seem to bring their own style to the newly released Panic Room EP. The songs are reminiscent of songs you'd hear on your favorite rock radio station as a teenager. Ciinco is a new upcoming artist making waves here in Los Angeles. Ciinco moved here from Atlanta but was originally from New York. Ciinco is no stranger to the struggle and his smooth, hip-hop style conveys a message to inspire people to do what they want to do. His message is real feel-good music with an Atlanta twist and a new west coast vibe. Can you tell us about your upbringing? How did you get started in music? My start in music was totally out of the blue. I was always into sports and things like that, but my cousin, who had been doing music already, told me that I should try it.  So he put on a beat and we just made it happen. “Lemonade” seems to have a diverse lyrical depth to it! What was the inspiration behind this song? The inspiration for this song was one point in my life where I was going through a rough patch.  Through everything I was able to grind and get out of the situation that I was in, so Lemonade is definitely a representation of that point in my life for sure. What is your writing process generally like? Honestly, I just go with what I’m feeling and that generates into something I’ve been through or currently going through at the moment or that others may be dealing with, as well.   I combine those aspects into the songs I create. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? Most definitely “Fiji Fresh.”   It’s a cool song about being the best you and standing out from the rest.  Plus the vision of vibing on an island came to me when I wrote this song.  "Fiji Fresh" is definitely a song that would describe my sound right now. What do you hope to achieve as a hip-hop artist through the end of 2019?
