Amber Doss released her single titled “Come Up” and we were blown away! This electrifying single was not only empowering but it was groovy and produced a certain amount of energy you can’t help but soak in. Amber Doss has a special vocal articulation that takes this single into multiple heights and measures. “Come Up” gets you amplified with it’s motivating lyrics. “This is the come up of the underdog”. “It’s not a comeback, it’s a come up, and you can’t tell me, that I’m not good enough”. These lyrics make you feel unstoppable. The power behind the delivery and the sass in the tone gives off this fiery element of rebellion and confidence. Amber Doss is an artist who can weave between the pop & R&B market effortlessly. The production of “Come Up” showed components of classic synths (Something you’ll hear in a Stranger Things introduction), alongside your rooted pop melodies and a funky groove to the beat. “Come Up” Is a hit record and nice offering from this versatile artist. Listen to "Come Up" here and read more with Amber Doss in our exclusive interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Amber Doss! Knowing you graduated from the University of  Illinois with your Bachelors's in music, how has your educational background in the field of music been used to your benefit for your career now? Well, I definitely think it has helped mainly when it comes to composing and production.  In music theory classes, a lot of time is spent on chord progressions and hearing what different instruments are doing in each section of a piece. I think a lot of that influences my writing when adding instruments to a song. I like to give each instrument a voice, as if all of the vocal parts and instruments are having a conversation with each other. I think because of that, my music has a different sound to what you may hear on radio, but I also aim to keep the listener intrigued. Who would you consider some of your direct influences for your style of music and why? My style is all over the place! Lol. I like a lot of different genres.  It definitely depends on the song and style that I’m singing. I would say a lot of my writing and production influences come from Claude Debussy and Pharrell. I find myself writing songs with a hint of classical and theatrical elements and a lot of hip hop beats, bass and drums. Let’s talk about “Come Up”. this song was a hit! The lyrics were extremely inspiring and empowering, what motivated you to write this song? What does “Come Up” mean to you? Like any artist, I have been criticized for my talent. It’s either “you’re too theaterish, too classical, too soft, too loud, too big, too short, too this, too that, you don’t do vocal runs well, etc.” It can really be a blow to your confidence. I've struggled with that and there was a point where I took a break from making music to get myself physically and mentally together.  Eventually, I came to the conclusion to just do what I want when it comes to music and to define my career and my life for myself.  Come Up was one of the first songs I wrote after that short hiatus. Come Up to me is basically telling the naysayers nothing you can say or do will stop me from going after my dreams or succeeding. I don’t fail, and I don’t quit.  I only get better. “It’s not a come back, it’s a come up.” Were there any challenges faced in the creation of this single? Not really.  I feel like I had a good amount of time to think when I took a break, so when I ended up writing the song, the lyrics and music just flowed. How would you describe the production behind “Come Up” we noticed some classic synths that we enjoyed! I love utilizing a good synth or two.  LOL!  I'm glad you guys liked it! I'm also a fan of hip hop.  I'm not a rapper at all, so I felt like writing something that could be heard in hip hop but delivered in a way that felt comfortable for me (R&B/pop).  I would love to hear a hip hop artist rhyme over this song though. What’s next for you Amber Doss? Well, I'm currently working on my second EP and pretty much just open to anything that is music and performance based.  We'll see what the future holds. • Catching Up With K.Credle!

Welcome back to BuzzMusic K.Credle! What can you tell us about your EP “Lone Wolf 2, Pt. 1”? What does this project represent for you? My album “Lone Wolf 2 Pt.1” represents an opportunity to speak my truth and be transparent about the constant battles that I deal with on the daily emotionally, physically and spiritually. The first third of the album is a testimony to how I’ve fought myself out of a dark space, mentally, and how my family and music supported me through that. In my record “On The Way” I urge my listeners to keep faith in difficult times, “Don’t die your up is on the way though. Hold on help is on the way bro, love you if you think no one else do”. The second part of the album is where I get to let my cockiness out and channel that inner confidence that was always there. My goal with this album was, not only to uplift my community, but people around the world that can relate and feel my authenticity through my lyrics. The last third of the project is me simply having fun and showing the other side of the darkness and that anyone can make it out. This album represents  honesty, self-awareness, grit to fight through adversity and, most importantly, self-love. It wasn’t long since we’ve last featured your music! How do you stay on track to create relevant content so consistently? Being true to one's self is the only way I believe an artist can stay relevant. When you’re always honest with yourself and transparent with how you feel, people have no choice but to respect that.Supporters always want to know what’s going on with their favorite artists, so being an open book and telling my story is the only way to create relevant content. If I wasn't doing that, I would be creating another generic brand of music and it is our responsibility as artists to create genuine content. Where is the best setting to listen to “Lone Wolf 2, Pt. 1”, and what do you hope people take away from it? I wish there was one place that people could listen to the project. The beauty of it is that it is a vibe listening to it straight through with your homies and as individual tracks in various settings. For example, "Vibez" is a guaranteed turn up, while "Becker King" gives you pre-game motivation. There are songs on this album for everything; from working through your own thoughts to having a good time. I hope people see the light in this project. My goal is always to inspire someone and leave them in a better place than before they listened. If I can do that, then the long studio hours have been worth it. In your opinion, what song on the EP “Lone Wolf 2, Pt. 1” has the most lyrical depth to it? What was the creation process like? The record with the most lyrical depth would be “Live More”. The intent was to be as open and transparent as possible. Since dropping my first EP titled “Lone Wolf” back in April 2017, numerous life changing events have occurred. From graduating college in May 2017 to growing my team and the expansion of my family, this album is a long awaited testimony to the trials and tribulations that took part during that two year span. Two of the bars I felt the most while writing are, “When I graduated, kiss my ma I made it, sad mistaken six months of applying jobs wasn’t taking” and “I was homeless crying always blaming God”. Creating this record took tapping into a vulnerable headspace that, as a black man, we often have to ignore because of the weight of responsibility placed on us. I had to let people in and tell them what was going on with me because that’s the only way I could truly move on from any troubling situation. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? As an artist, it is easy to get caught up in the flash of fame, but for me my main priority is to continuously grow my platform, in order to speak my truth and inspire more people across the world. You never know whose life you could be saving. I want to reach as many people as possible and let them know that they are not alone in this fight. The larger my platform is, the more people I can inspire to share their story. What other projects are you working on through the end of 2019? Now that the album is out, my team and I have already begun to turn our focus towards creating visuals that bring the same quality energy that the project does. I’m glad I’ve had the opportunity for people to hear my story through my records, but now it’s time for the world to see what it looks like in Mr. Lone Wolf's head. We are also working to create and establish partnerships with local and small businesses that will, not only expand our platform, but also encourage others to do the same. • NEW MUSIC: Check Out 13-Track EP “Pastel Colors” By The Women Of The Night

Based in New York, The Women of the Night are a rock n’ roll gang, playing songs that follow the pace of the street and the voices of the unconsciousness mind. The gang is made up of Jordan D’Arsie on guitar and vocals, Kyubae Lee on drums and Grey Watson, the talented bassist. This summer sees the release of “Pastel Colors”, self released on Manic Records. A concept EP split into 2 complimentary sides reflecting the duality of D’Arsie' songwriting. Hot and cold, light and dark and all alleys in between. A collection of everyday distillations, flicking between the conscious and the unconscious, something of a split personality. Voyeurism for the soul. The EP “Pastel Colors” kicks off with the rather edgy “I Am Well And Missing You”. It’s a gritty piece and allows for the perfect introduction to The Women of The Night’s sound. There are smart lyrics delivered with real precision and some fabulously unexpected melodic twists and turns which keeps the listener on the edge of their seat. Couple that with some snappy, crisply-recorded drums sounds and some genre-baffling guitars and the album is off to a flying start! The title track “Pastel Colors” continues to intoxicate with some wonderful guitar and production flourishes. There is great space for the lead vocal to shine and demand the attention. Rhythmically and melodically interesting, the vocals weave around proceedings in the most accomplished of ways, avoiding cliché but also going to places that are immediately satisfying. There’s an unhurried confidence about it all that we can’t get enough of. We get a change of pace for “White Lighter”, it’s a unique mix of pummeling guitar, heavy riffs and genre-straddling changes. “Moscow Mansions” is an early highlight, building up slowly, layer by layer, fusing the heavier side of rock with a structurally complex bit of songwriting that appeals for its rising intensity, short, snappy verse lines, and one hell of a hook. “Leather Glove” unexpectedly takes things in a distorted direction, with a funk-inspired edge and a hypnotizing vocal line. It rains down with a certain fullness and an inspiring central sentiment that again stands out as a definite highlight. This one works better at volume. “Brighton Beach” then lightens the musicality but leads with that free-flowing, creative guitar work once more. Something of a grower, the song progresses unpredictably but proves to be ultimately satisfying thanks to effective contrasting as it evolves. “Be Careful What You Wish For” takes the time to remind you of the thoughtful and self-aware nature of Jordan D’Arsie’s writing. A song that builds up around you, fusing melody and distortion to powerful, emotional and grunge-like levels. “I Couldn’t Fool Them” is a memorable and energizing song with a beautiful set-up. The rhyme scheme is fantastic and the whole thing pours through so smoothly. “Quiet Nights” leads with a melancholy, sultry aura and a distant, affected vocal that suits the intoxicated nature of the lyrics. Things get quietly reflective and poetic for the warm and hypnotic for “Regular Day” simple yet beautiful in its portrayal of the concept. Again, the hook is unpredictable but seems to make perfect sense once it hits. The Womenof The Night become more engaging and interesting with each new song that appears. Throughout “Used Car Salesman” we see a psychedelic vibe overwhelm in a powerful way. This one is a great track, easily likable and energetic enough to pick you up just when you need it. “Bad Tee Vee” follows on and more of those impossibly brilliant lyrics rain down around you. That riff lingers in your mind long after listening. The song also cleverly moves from melancholy to optimistic, bringing darkness and brightness together in an artistic manner. A definite grower and another highlight once you’ve really heard it. At the final hurdle, “Like People Whistling” drives to finish off an impressive EP and leave a lasting impression of the superb writing style and performance skills the band so naturally possess. A joy to listen to in full! Check out “Pastel Colors” here and read more with The Women Of The Night below! - Welcome to BuzzMusic! We’re loving your EP “Pastel Colors”! What was the main concept behind this project? This P A S T E L  C O L O R S ep is a collection of everyday stories, loosely based in a weeklong period in NY with different characters filtering through the songs. It wittingly adopts a strong cinematic Hitchcock 'Rear Window' quality to it. Camera slowly panning in and out of the everyday, playing with Consciousness / Unconsciousness and ultimately we wanted to achieve a voyeuristic quality. What do you hope your fans take away from your music? We want our music to create worlds / spaces for people to explore. We're really trying to express an energy, kind of like a state of mind. This is why we think of the band and our followers as a gang. We hope that our fans get a sense of this energy and the world we're trying to express and we hope it means something special to them in their own way. Can you dive into details about the lyricism in “Moscow Mansions”? It's probably the most positive or uplifting song on the album in some strange and depressing ways. There's a couple of different ways it is meant to be interpreted some involving relationships and others death. The more straight forward way of interpreting it is it's about a young woman dating an older more established woman whose career is taking off and as such she is being left her behind. She is walking through the changing seasons unsure what the future holds but on her way to see her one last time with a heavy heart. The 2nd verse she is now a little older and doing it tough on the streets. She is doing all the little things to keep herself alive and warm. She is becoming her own self and staying positive in the hopes of turning things around. The outro features a gorgeous synth solo by collaborator Nick Cuce and I feel like it really gives it this final sense of optimism and hope. What’s your creative process like as a group? Generally the songs are roughly written by me and then we kick them around as a group and add layers and arrangement and flesh them out from there. Currently we're working on a full length and this seems to be approach we're taking. What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? Honestly I feel like I'm a little removed from mainstream music these days. I don't seek it out but sometimes it finds me. I'm open to it but often it strikes me as very polished and lacking in personality / spontaneity. Every now and then there's something that will grab me but I feel it needs less smooth edges and more personality. www.instagram.com/women_of_the_night www.facebook.com/womenofthenigh #BuzzMusic

  • Italian Producer Ekidna Showcases Versatility With “Venom (Fight Back)”

Italian songwriter, producer and performer Ekidna grew up playing heavy metal with his first band all over the North of Italy. He discovered electronic production thanks to an Alien and started traveling through Europe and the US, wandering an ever-evolving soundscape. Flawlessly blending rock/metal influences and songwriting with electronic and dark, club oriented soundscapes, Ekidna is moving fast to deliver a unique sound that can touch a very wide audience. His new EP is coming soon, stay tuned! Beginning with ambient and cinematic, multi-layered tones, “Venom (Fight Back)” leads with a dreamlike delicacy and calming rhythms. The song quickly explodes into an electronic rock anthem and immediately intrigues and appeals for its contagious melody, meandering retro synth, and the gradually intensifying lyrics. The further you get into “Venom (Fight Back)”, the more creative and expressive Ekidna shows himself to be. This song is impressive, utilizing space and contrast in hard-hitting levels, yet still managing to mystify and hold your interest. With an anthem-like resolve, “Venom (Fight Back)” reminds you of where things began, and further cements the fact that Ekidna is a go-to electronic act right now, with both production and songwriting aiming high and always hitting the mark. Check out “Venom (Fight Back)” here and read more with Ekidna in our exclusive interview below! Welcome back to BuzzMusic! “Venom (Fight Back)” has many layers and different concepts. What’s the overall theme you were trying to achieve with this record? Hello everybody! thanks for having me back. Venom is the song that differs most from the others i released and that i'll release in the next weeks: it's brighter, upbeat, it has a very rocknroll attitude. In fact i started writing it by chance, while i was producing a cover of Meds by Placebo (one of my fav Bands), had created this distorted synth while following the riff with an arpeggiator and thought i should have use it for a song of mine. I wanted it to be uplifting and powerful since the beginning, I didn't have lyrics at first, just the title's idea. The "Venom" is the indolence, the negative thinking, the envy of many people. As for the video, we thought about creating this character the fights a monster which represents all i said before. I'm very happy with the message i wanted to share and for how the song sounds, honestly, try to play Venom in your car at a very high volume, it's fu****g rock'n'roll! What do you hope your listeners take away from “Venom (Fight Back)”? Well, I wrote the lyrics thinking about the struggle the everyone who has a dream has to face everyday: disapproving family, greedy "friendships", messed up cultural level of the little place where you come from. All these things can be such a bummer if you're not strong enough or determined. Everyday you have to wake up and think: let me show you what i can do, i'm gonna fight and smile, no matter what. So yeah, this song is basically about being angry and turn this anger in something positive and productive. What sets you apart from other artists in today’s music scene? Wow, that's a hard question, I don't think it should be me to answer that. All i know is i put a lot of effort in the last two years, building up a characteristic sound and that the first songs are the foundation of what will come in the next months, I will keep on melting together rock/metal themes with electronic and pop and i'll make you jump and move, trust me. Oh well one think i'm particularly proud of is that I'm the only one who does this type of music here in Italy, which is basically a double-edged sword because it makes think everyday that i should take the first plane and leave, but we'll see. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? I just finished producing the song you're asking about! haha, seriously, a few weeks ago i wrote and produced this new track that perfectly describes the attitude i want to have now on. It makes you move and sing along, it's dark and still gives you good vibes. So yeah, We'll be in touch when it comes out. But! you asked which one I'd choose from the ones that are already released so, i'd say Blurred, definitely. I love the way my fellow producer Squarehead_OS worked on the verse, that mood is totally what i was looking for at the moment. And it's a song the works fine even if you play it on piano (see the Stripped version) or guitar. What’s the bigger picture for you? What are your aspirations, and where do you hope to take things next? I just want to play live a lot and reach new people. That's the biggest goal right now. I'm already at work on a EP which i'm sure will be something special as it is the result of these first steps of my path as producer and writer. I really can't wait to go in the studio and start recording it cause i'm sure it gonna be something different. So yeah, play live, meet people, spread my music around, write and produce music that can inspire something good in the people who listen. Let me say thank you to all the people around the world that are showing love to my tracks and give me they're feedback. Oh, i forgot, I wanna have fun doing music!! the most important thing! Did you check out my Italian version of Old Town Road? that was a lot of fun, like, a lot. Thank you very much for your time guys, don't forget to smile and fight! • Gothic Imagery Runs Deeps With Shadowy’s Latest Track “U And Hymn”

Shadowy is an alternative hip-hop artist currently based in Brighton, England. Crafting his sound since early 2018, Shadowy’s music consists of gothic imagery, evocative lyrics and modern trap production, drawing influences from OmenXIII, SpaceGhostPurrp and Marilyn Manson. Take a journey through the experience of his music. Shadowy dropped his newest track “U and Hymn” and we’re addicted! While the darker feel of the music comes out on this track, the quick pace of the raspy vocals seems to keep the track from becoming too dark. What is produced is a track that showcases the authentic music of Shadowy. With “U and Hymn”, Shadowy seems to be channeling a dark Gothic side as the vocals sound very melancholic and low. Given the New Wave feel of the music Shadowy’s voice fits rather well with this track. The song contains a strong driving feel which, once again, contains a dark ambiance to it. Absolute worth a listen and a dive onto the darkside! Listen to “U and Hymn” here and keep scrolling to read our interview with Shadowy! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started in the music industry? My first experience in the music industry was at the age of 18, I was the lead vocalist in a metal band for about half a year but I ended up parting ways with the group as I felt we all had a different vision for the future of the band. After that experience my appetite for being in a band basically vanished and I turned my attention towards making beats and teaching myself how to produce. The concept for ‘Shadowy’ began around January 2018 and I wrote my first song in April 2018 which was ‘U and Hymn.’ Its finally coming out now over a year later. Was there a specific event/person in your life that made you get into music/ start recording your material? Since as long as I can remember I’ve had a fascination with music, I first picked up a guitar around the age of 9 and was instantly drawn to bands like Metallica, AC/DC, Guns ’N’ Roses etc - basically all the generic Classic Rock bands you are introduced to when you have your first guitar lesson. I thought it was so cool back then. A year later I was introduced to Marilyn Manson and thats when I felt music resonate with me emotionally for the first time, rather than just being something I enjoy. From then onwards I stopped idly listening to music and started wanting to create it for myself. Looking back on it, It’s weird that I didn’t even write my first song until about 9 years later. The universe just had a different plan for me back then. Who are you musical influences and how do they help shape your sound? I’d say that Marilyn Manson has had the biggest influence on me as a person, his attitude towards popular culture, societal norms and even relationships has always resonated strongly with me and I think I subconsciously incorporate similar ideas to him in my lyrics. Also when I was trying to teach myself how to sing (from the age of about 10-14), I was really into female artists such as Lana Del Rey, Banks and Lady Gaga and I guess through impersonating them while learning to sing I have picked up certain vocal inflections which I have been told sound reminiscent of those artists. Also, when I was about 13 I started listening to SpaceGhostPurrp. He was my first introduction to Hip Hop that I genuinely enjoyed. The way he infused gothic imagery and painted nails with Underground Hip Hop was something I really connected with at the time and I respect him a lot for it. I take a lot of inspiration from him in the production side of my music and I guess I’m just really inspired by his fearlessness when it comes to blending genres and different cultures in music. With all of that being said, I don’t feel though my music sounds like an accumulation of the artists who influence me or anything like that, I’m trying to keep it as original as possible. What does “U and Hymn” mean to you? What do you want your listeners to take away from it? I wrote the song at the end of a long term relationship, I was struggling to cope with the situation and was thinking quite irrationally about my life in general and so I basically wrote out a continuous stream of my thoughts to help create some sense of order in my head. What I wrote down ended up being the lyrics to the song, it was a very quick and spontaneous process. Writing the song allowed me to reflect on both the relationship itself and the person I had become due to that relationship, I was then able to close the door on that chapter of my life and refocus my energy towards my career. As for the listeners, there isn’t a specific message or subliminal meaning that I want them to take away from the song, I am really just sharing my personal experience, although it’s a situation I am sure many people can relate to. What do you hope to achieve as an artist through the rest of 2019? My primary goal is to build on whatever momentum I can create through the release of this song. I’d like to be able to consistently provide music for the people that want to hear it and so I am hoping to put out a couple more songs before the end of the year. I’ll also be focusing my energy on looking after myself mentally so I can remain creative as possible and continue working efficiently. www.instagram.com/_shad0wy__ www.facebook.com/shadowy15card #BuzzMusic

  • BuzzMusic's Exclusive Interview With Mouce

Welcome back Mouce! We're excited to have you back here with us on our BuzzMusic platform. How have you been since your previous release and how did you prepare for "Rap Is Back"? I’ve been doing excellent and I know y’all have been doing the same. Just working, grinding getting to it in every way. To me “Rap is Back” is a whole movement so I definitely wanted to represent it properly in the right way in my own way of doing things. The simple  complexities. Talk to us about this new single, "Rap Is Back". What was the main vision you had for this record? The main vision was representing for the culture. I feel like everybody just lost in the sauce right now but I don’t want to lose ownership of what we created. Everything has its own category and all, either way we gotta all just respect the craft, this art form that has changed so many of our lives. Knowing this single was so well-executed, what obstacles did you stumble upon during the production of this song? Not really many obstacles but from what the rough recording sounded like and what the final product sounds like are 180 degrees different. From the arrangement to the scratches by DJ Dolo. It was quite the production to put together. Props to Bartenders on the beat and Sidefx on the mix. Mouce how would you describe your songwriting approach and method? Were there any specific lyric arrangements you were going for in "Rap Is Back"? Honestly my whole approach is just come from the heart every time. If you do that you can’t lose. We were in the studio just taking bout how a lot of people nowadays just are Bsin. So that’s basically what we were talking about before we started recording. So that’s basically what the track is about even in the beginning I say “My cousin told me Rap different and be myself” that was all directly from the conversation previous to recording and a direct result of it. You're known to impress us constantly! What can we expect next from you? More videos from the album “Money is Revenge” out now. Everyone make sure to subscribe to my YouTube and also expect a big surprise from me October 9th as well. www.instagram.com/moucegram #BuzzMusic

  • Get Lost In The Musical Arrangements Of Quinini In “Komana”

Quinini is an electronic live act duo from Bogotá, Colombia. Formed in 2013 by Sebastián Torres and Pablo Guchuvo. Their debut single titled “Indeepgena”, released in 2015. Quinini specializes on playing live with analog gear without a computer. They build their own modular synthesizers designed to suite their performance and music production needs. Quinini sound fuses old-school drum machines inspired by early rave era and spacious synth melodies inspired by the sounds of the Andes mountains. In 2019 Quinini started producing the single “Komana”, this was produced using a Korg Electribe EMX and our nearly built 'Belcebú' modular system. Quinini stuns with their finely-calibrated sound. “Komana” is a beautiful and hypnotizing composition, the intoxicating instrumentals are stunning. • Check Out One Woman Rock-Band MBG And Her Debut Single “Make My Day”

Under the name of MBG, an Alt-Rock recording project, Leena is a multi-instrumentalist that writes, records, performs and has very recently produced her music in her bedroom studio out of Brampton, Canada. She is self-taught on drums, guitar, and bass by commuting every day after school to the local music store to practice until closing time because her family couldn’t afford music lessons much less the instruments themselves. Now a graduate from the Independent Music Production program at Seneca College, she’s continuing to develop her new skills as being the producer and sole songwriter of her music. New in the songwriting game, she has explored in between the genres of classic/punk rock and blues to folk and jazz. Her debut EP “Have a Alright Day” reflects on not only bridging in between those genres but also her skill in production and playing all of the instruments in her songs. Over the past year, she has solidified her sound and has gone back to what got her to pick up the guitar in the first place, being a one-woman rock band. Included on MBG’s debut EP is her debut single “Make My Day” that features an uplifting soundscape and an impressive melodic progression. From a songwriting perspective, MBG has done well to make this widely accessible. “Make My Day” can be interpreted and related to depending on each individual’s outlook. “Make My Day” talks of the negative impact of feeding the fire. That hook gets to you, the performance is passionate and the higher melody and united musicality give off a sense of brightness that undoubtedly leaves you with an aura of optimism above all else. MBG truly showcases her skills as a solo artist, powerhouse producer, and well-rounded musician! We can’t wait to hear more from MBG. Check out “Make My Day” here and keep scrolling for more with MBG! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Loving the song “Make My Day”! What prompted you to write it? Thank you for reaching out I really appreciate it. Yeah 'Make My Day' was quite a spontaneous song that just started with me noodling around on my guitar, coming up with this cool guitar riff and everything just kind of fell into place lyrically and next thing I know I had a full song. Usually 99% of the time when i'm writing I kind of just zone out and once I have somewhat a finished song, I zoom out and see the bigger picture and figure out what exactly am I writing about so I can fix it later. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? That they're absolute BOPS through and through and that whatever situation the listener is in that my music can get them dancing...or moshing their problems away or feel less lonely in the world. So far I've had people messaging me saying how Brick By Brick has been the song to help them go through a tough relationship which just warms my heart. Is there a new, longer project on the way, and if so, what can we expect from that? Yes there is! i'm currently in the midst of recording another EP this month. This time it wouldn't be in my bedroom, it's gonna be in my basement ha ha quite an upgrade eh? My parents started to realize how crammed my room was getting with all my gear and instruments so all of my stuff as been moved downstairs which is cool because the room has a walk in closet which I've turned into a vocal booth/guitar room. You can expect more rock tunes on this EP than the last one for sure and maybe even a sad folky song in between all the electricity. What’s the songwriting process like for you, how do you get started – and how do you know when a song is truly finished? Oof! it varies. Some songs take days or maybe even months to finish, especially for someone like me that has all these little small ideas collecting in my voice notes on my phone and never getting around to finishing them completely because either i'm too tired from working my day job or just not in the mood to write. And some songs miraculously finish in like one hour tops without me even going back and fixing it and those are my favorites haha! because I've been songwriting for only two years, I don't have quite the discography under my belt yet. Recently I HAD to write songs to fill out a 45 minute to an hour set when someone offers me to play a show! I don't know how these artists can have hundreds of songs that are fully written it's incredible. I usually start writing on my guitar playing random chords or riffs. Melodies come first and lyrics come after...sometimes even way after. I could have a catchy melody for days but lyrics come separately weeks later. If I'm really dedicating a day to songwriting, I usually just word vomit along to the melody and if it makes sense I'll scribble it down and once I have a cohesive song, I go back and do some small fixes whether it be the arrangement or the lyrics itself. I know when a song is finished that I can play it through and through and all the rhymes and Syllables fit through the arrangement and the lyrics makes sense. What are your plans creatively throughout 2019? To write more songs obviously ha ha and also learn more in production. I find the process of making your song come to life and figuring out how you want your song to sound like is very exciting to me. Self-recording and producing my debut EP has definitely been a learning curve for me. I knew enough coming into producing my EP having recently graduated from Music production school in college but during the production I was learning all these new tips and tricks from YouTube videos and other local producers that I didn't learn in college. That's what's so cool about making music there's no right or wrong way it's all trial and error. There's always something new to learn! #BuzzMusic
