Check out “Applejuice” here and read more with AyeJay Freez below! Hey AyeJay! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started in music? How old were you? Whats the word, BuzzMusic!!  Thank you for having me, it means a lot. Oh man, when I was 14 my friend and I had gotten our hands on some Dj equipment and an old mixer and mic his dad had used in a band. Weee WENT TO WORK haha. My family has a pretty deep musical background so I was always involved in some type of music, I had my old church choir and school band days, the house party performances and all that haha. What do you do to feed your passion for music daily? I create. Whether it's playing around with a melody or listening through beats, I try and keep my mind as free of extra stuff as possible. On average I probably write or freestyle 10 or 12 choruses a day, they may not all get used but it keeps me on all 10 ya know, keeps me fired up. What does Applejuice” mean to you? How do you want your listeners to feel when they hear it? Applejuice, Applejuice, Applejuice, aside from it being my favorite drink? Jokes aside though, I really had an experience in which the events that transpired the night before led up to me acquiring a bottle of all natural 100% apple juice. It was a pretty lit night so I had to go create the next morning. If you can nod your head or catch the melody then I feel like it’s mission accomplished ya know, it kinda creeps up on you and next thing you know it’s a bop. Feel good, Vibe, drink apple juice instead of OJ and have good sex. How does this track “Applejuice” compare to one of your earliest tracks? How have you improved/evolved as an artist? My approach to the record was way left field compared to the wave I was on when I first started. I was more of a hiphop type of person back then, but now I really just create what I feel. I’d say the biggest factor to me improving was getting to work with an engineer/producer every time  I’m in the studio. I used to do all the engineering as far as recording, mixing and mastering and it took more energy and focus then I was able or willing to give it, after I started working with Hunt I was able to really focus on what I felt was necessary for me to evolve as an artist. That’s when the karma series and all that started. The people that have been rockin with me think I’m moving in the right direction and that has the most impact when it comes to my evolution as an artist. If you could collaborate with any artist, dead or alive, who would you choose and why? Right now, I’d really like to collaborate on something with Ty Dolla $ign. Bro’s always up to something that’s gonna be a bop haha. Whatever vibe we come up with is going to be insane! haha. But seriously though bro’s creativity level as far as Melody’s, beat selection and versatility are mad lit. I really want to work with 6lack too bro’s vibe seems genuine and his bars always hit. Be sure to check out AyeJay Freez's socials in order to keep updated with the artist! #BuzzMusic

  • Maze Theory Fuses Indie-Electronic And Rock To Create “Wild”

Based in Vancouver, Canada, Maze Theory is an eclectic new band that bends genres and diverse musical style to create a truly authentic sound. Through slick instrumentation, powerful, thought provoking lyrics, and modern production techniques, this crew has been able to release two brand new singles, “Addiction” and “Wild”, in the last month. Over time, this project has developed into a full blown movement in which each track reflects the incredible chemistry that these musicians share. “Wild” begins with a haunting piano melody and slowing transitions into an explosive single. The vocalist is practically ethereal as her angelic vocals take the listener on a journey through the versatile soundscape. The three piece Maze Theory blends their authentic indie-electronic sound into a fusion of sounds to create a brilliant musical chaos. It echoes through the speakers and demands to be heard. Mixing the rock driven melodies with an individual and pummeling rhythm, “Wild” is mesmerizing and an incredible addition to the band's repertoire. Well on their way to many more spectacular releases, I highly recommend you stay on the lookout for Maze Theory. Check out “Wild” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Thanks for chatting with us Maze Theory! Can you tell us more about how Maze Theory was formed? No problem, thanks for having us! Maze Theory was formed when we entered a sort of Battle of the Bands competition at our University. We had all been playing music together for a while but had never doubled down to play any shows or anything, so the competition became the perfect opportunity to finish what we had been working on and to finally put on a show. After making the final four in that contest, we just kept the momentum going and began playing shows all over Vancouver! What is the meaning behind the lyrics in "Wild"? What do you want your listeners to take away from this song? “Wild” is about reconciling the person you want to be with the person you really are. It’s about learning to live with your imperfections and letting go of the pressure to be something you’re not. We hope listeners take away the message that you can accept the flawed human that we all are and still lead a beautiful and meaningful life. Where in the world would you love to perform? I think we would be game to perform just about anywhere, honestly. But doing a nice sunset beach set in Ibiza would be a nice option if we had to pick just one. What’s your favorite lyrics in “Wild”? “I’ll be a lake instead of the sea, but just as wild and deep” Who influences your style? What sparks your creativity? Artists such as The XX, Phantogram, Alt-J, and Glass Animals are some of the first groups to come to mind. We try to create meaningful songs built around powerful lyrics that bring a combination of live instruments layered over modern production techniques. We all come from a diverse background in music tastes so we try to pull whatever we can from just about anything! What's next for Maze Theory? Check out our other new single, Addiction, which just came out around the same time as Wild. We are always writing and looking for performance opportunities, so make sure to follow us to be the first to hear about them! • BuzzMusic Interviews Hip/Hop Artist Phil.

Hey Phil. How has the Brooklyn scene been for you? Are you able to find inspiration for your music through your environment? When it comes to Brooklyn, the only thing I really know are the coffee shops and my room haha I don’t really get out too much. But what I will say is that Brooklyn has definitely helped me settle into the city a little more. Being from NC, the fast & non stop pace of NYC made me feel like a mad man. Inspiration wise, it has ultimately helped me feel more grounded. What's the main challenge you've faced as an artist and how do you work through the obstacle? My main challenge as an artist is not getting discouraged. You are always your own worst critic. I go through phases where I tell myself I am fucking amazing and then others where I convince myself I am pure trash. I am getting to a point where I am finding the balance between being super meticulous and also saying F*CK IT! You sometimes just have to trust your talent and intuition. "Thinkinboutyou" was a beautiful single. What inspired you to write this? In what ways were you able to personally relate to the lyrics to this song? L O L . Well I honestly had a dream about my ex girlfriend from high school when I was visiting my hometown. I guess the surroundings put my mind in a place where I thought about her. I started to write and stopped for a bit. I left and went back to NY, I got realllllly in my feelings one day and write about a girl that never “dated” but we were seeing each other and I started to realize that she truly could’ve been the one. You win some you lose some How would you describe the production behind "Thinkinboutyou"? Actually this song is the single from my EP that’ll come out within the next month or 2 entitled “Prince: The Prep” and it is solely produced by my homie Ashton Harris. And completely mixed by another homie FCUKFAME and is recorded at Stronger Bond Studios in Manhattan! The song has a reminiscent and nostalgic feel to me and I used that to my advantage by not filling it  is too much with crazy lyrics, flows or cadences. I just let it ride out the whole time. What's next for you Phil. ? As I stated earlier, I have an EP coming out within the next month or two and plan to have an album finished at the end of 2019 or the beginning of 2020. And I have a few other collab projects I’ve been working on with a few producers and artists I know. Another single coming out with my homie J. Hasan on September 2nd, named “Hol Up”. Nice lil party jam. Give a listen to Phil's track here, and stay connected with Phil. through his socials below! Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Regal Club’s Self Titled Ep Is OUT NOW

Regal Club is a hip-hop duo based out of St. Louis that focuses on high vibrational lyrical music. The members of the duo are Alvo and J. Cruz. Alvo, the executive producer, produced all the songs on the project excluding “Tomorrow". With a unique sound over booming 808's Regal Club's self titled debut project was intended to stand out amongst the heavy hitters in the game. Released this past July 4th, Regal Club chose to release "Flow" and "Spooky" as the lead singles accompanied with two visuals that paints the pictures to bring the listeners closer into their world. Introducing Alvo and J. Cruz as a fairly capable and creatively free duo, “Regal Club” makes for a partly calming and partly awakening, impossible to ignore, project. Beginning with the mildly jarring yet fascinating tones of “Already”, the EP proceeds to pour personality and honesty into the mix, increasingly strengthening the threads that are Regal Club’s vocal tone and their unique style of lyricism, but also consistently taking to musical purity and a carefree approach to artistry. “Flow” increases the intensity threefold, seeing multiple voices and instrumental layers pile up and gather momentum more and more so as the track rains down. Despite the unusual nature of the sound throughout, you settle in and acclimatize to it fairly quickly – before long, the flow, thought process and bars succeed in taking the reins and holding onto your interest more tightly with every second that passes. Next up with “Tomorrow”, the song’s melodic hook adds a further hit of creative freedom, veering away from the underlying chord progression, which strangely suits the eerie vibe of the song and actually makes for a fitting break from the weight of the underlying lyricism and poetic passion. “Soul Food” is perhaps the darkest yet most minimalist of the three tracks and, incidentally, a potential highlight. The simplicity of the beat succeeds in creating a haunting mood, meanwhile Regal Club’s vocal delivery intrigues and furthers the late-night vibe; occasionally feeling a little like the more alternative sounds of artists such as Tyler, The Creator. “Spooky” is one of the notable singles on the EP and we’re vibing along with this track. Regal Club’s personality pours through more notably as the playlist progresses. The production introduces features such as a likeable beat and a series of short, snappy verse lines and clever quips. “Money Showers” follows on with an immediate level of passion and character. The lyrics and the vocal performance emerge with equal parts angst and confidence, making for a quickly captivating track with a fascinating story line. This increasingly proves impressive and highlights a totally different side to the artists. “Turn Over” comes through with a simple yet striking beat, a descending riff that haunts as it weaves throughout the backdrop. Again, the lyrics and Regal Club’s performance reach compelling peaks, this time bringing through personal experience and reflective emotional thoughts that let you build a strong connection with Regal Club as individuals. “Underworld” reverts back to the short and rhythmic line style of the opening track. Conceptually though there’s a certain depth here and level of vulnerability and struggle that really reach out to connect. Considering the range of notably simpler hip-hop releases that have made waves online in recent years, there’s no reason at all that a number of tracks from the “Regal Club” EP couldn’t have an immense effect once enough people get privy to it. Towards the end of the project, “After Hours” delves even deeper into that personality and backstory, balancing detailed scene setting with intimate self-reflection and intricate consideration of life itself and his role within it. An inspiring piece that again builds a stronger bridge between the artist and his audience. “Next Up” brings the EP to an impressive finish, actually reminding you of the key strengths at the heart of what Regal Club does. A second listen through this project in full is really where the true connection lies, and it’s an easy playlist to revisit, given that this is undoubtedly one of the most original and carefree hip hop releases to emerge this year. Regal Club doesn’t hide behind effects, nor overload their tracks with unnecessary drops or quirks. On the contrary, there’s plenty of natural individuality to the music, and that voice is so upfront and intimate that you can’t help but take it on as authentic. “Regal Club” the EP is well worth a listen if you’ve tired of the repetitive nature of much of modern hip hop, or if you’re a musician or lyricist with a genuine love for thoughtful, intelligent and deeply artistic musicality. Listen to “Regal Club” here and read more with the hip-hop duo below! Hey Alvo and J. Cruz, welcome to BuzzMusic and congrats on the album. How long have you been making music? Thanks for having us. Our musical journey started in 2011. We created a project named D.N.A. (Dreams N Aspirations). It was over instrumentals of songs that was out around that time. We put in genuine effort and a lot of energy behind the project, but for whatever reason the universe blocked it. After that we went back to the drawing board and decided if this was gonna work then we needed to create our own sound. Alvo: I started learning how to make beats in 2014. The first beat I made was for a song that's releasing soon called “Liberation”. Its two different Sade samples mashed together. Once I finished that beat I felt liberated. What does the project “Regal Club” represent for you? J. Cruz: My voice. A way to connect to the people….my soul group. Express my current state, you know? A way to give listeners a view through my eyes. Alvo: This is more than a project, it’s destiny. A higher calling. The feeling before words. If people only have time to listen to one track from the collection, which would you recommend and why? We’ll have to say “After Hours”. Besides who we are as artist It represents our spiritual nature. In the song we speak on vibrating high, crystal children, soul awakening experiences, traveling through the ethers, and interpreting the stars. That is everyday conversation for us. However listening to the whole project will give you the full experience. It’s more so a movie. What’s your main aspiration going forwards in 2019 as artists? Expanding the Regal Club brand is always the main focus. It’s a worldwide movement. Everyday the marathon continues. Word to Nip. What are your thoughts on the current hip-hop landscape? We actually like the current landscape of hip-hop. We feel it’s moving in a direction that's bringing us back to the essence. It’s a nice balance of male and female mc’s at the moment. Whatever mood or wave you trying to ride its not hard to find something to listen to that would get you there. Check out more on Regal Club via the duo's socials below! Alvo's Instagram J. • Will Buck Is Giving Us Old-School Alternative Rock With Latest Single "Burn"

Residing in Hydes, MD, Will Buck pours his intention and emotion into his music like a genuine, alternative rock music artist. Will has had the purest love for music since his childhood years, and you can really sense that dedication when listening to his musical offerings. Guitar is what resonated most with Will, and he's able to showcase that side of him through his music. His music is the best of the alternative rock scene. We're receiving hints of rock elements from the early 2000's, combined with a more contemporary vocal sound. Will Buck is a rock artist to look out for, his music continues to get better each time, and listeners will receive a more refined version of hard rock. Will's upcoming EP "Stone Feather" is set to release this fall, and we're already counting down the days to when we'll be blessed with this alternative artists curations. "Burn" is the latest release from Will, and it integrates that heavy-hitting rock sound fellow rock lovers are accustomed to, but with a soft and amicable integration of a more mellow feel. "Burn" is meant for listeners that need that feel-good road trip song they can jam out to (you already know we were jamming out at the office with this one). We're obsessed with the rugged tone Will is able to maintain throughout his music, especially because is makes for an old-school atmosphere we've dearly missed with alternative rock pieces. Will's vocal dynamics show elements similar to Oasis, twenty one pilots, while the production mirrors aspects of The Black Keys. The combination of rhythms Will can obtain in "Burn" is what makes the song addicting to us. You can definitely listen to "Burn" and not get tired of the listening to the same track 100 times in a row. Will has that vocal presence that's habitual and noteworthy. An alternative rock artist that isn't going anywhere, anytime soon! Give a listen to "Burn" here, and continue reading for our interview with Will below! Hey there Will! Great to have you on BuzzMusic! Can you tell our readers about your upcoming EP release of "Stone Feather"? Groovy, thanks for having me back! I'm so excited to release Stone Feather! I wrote this EP in the time that I was transforming into a solo artist and the overarching theme is embracing both the darkness and light within yourself. Recognizing the deep dark depths of the cave and trying to make out what is carved into the ancient walls while also reaching for the ever present sunlight that holds so much love and promise. I touch upon the nostalgic beauty of my farm upbringing, my transition to manhood, toxic relationships, the pressures of societal expectations, life on the road, the breakup of my band, the rock bottom that followed and the ultimate decision to pull myself backup and shoot for a second chance. I recorded the EP in Brooklyn at Figure 8 Studios with Eli Crews as the head engineer. I played/produced the majority of the instruments with the exception of my boy Andrew Oakley from WWO on drums and one of my oldest friends Wyatt Strassner on some killer guitar and vocals. Ross Newbauer produced the vocals and mixed the entire EP and Brian Lucey who’s worked on some of my all time favorite albums mastered it. What does music mean to you? Music is everything to me. I'm completely obsessed. I honestly think it's the only thing I'm absolutely certain of in my life. I was put here to play and I knew this from an unusually young age. Like a baby who's learning to talk finds out the sky is blue for the first time. They say it over and over again. In that moment they have realized a fact that is one hundred percent true. They feel it in their bones and they are so certain that they have to continually say it out loud until that the world understands. In my case it came by way of my fathers record collection, my moms undying love of dancing in the kitchen and my uncle playing the acoustic guitar in front of me at age four. After that, I started learning the guitar before I finished learning the alphabet and it's been engrained in me ever since. I can tell you the exact moment I heard each of my heroes for the first time and what it felt like. Now, finding new artists or albums that consume me has become a necessity, writing songs is inevitable, remaining a humble student is a lifestyle and persistent practice is a habit. What are the most impactful lyrics from "Burn" in your opinion? Despite what many listeners or critics have gravitated towards, I think the lyrical power lies within the verses of Burn not the choruses. Although I love the fierce nature of the chorus, the verses hold more metaphors and underlying concepts. In particular perhaps "silver bullet with your pistol pointed high" or "six feet under will you bring your fancy shoes to?". What are your main aspirations as an artist right now? My main aspirations as an artist right now are to write the best possible songs I can, connect with the fans who resonate with my music and put on a kick ass show! I’ve gotten spun out on trends, followers, branding, networking and all that before but ultimately I don’t think that matters if you can’t achieve or at least strive to achieve those three things. Call me old fashioned but I’ve just gotta be myself, be sincere and be direct. I’m here for the long haul and I’m relentless when it comes to my passion so I’m making sure I set this thing up right this time! • Get To Know King Sol & the Vibes!

Welcome To BuzzMusic! How do you mix your vintage sound to make it both relevant and contemporary? Thank you! I think it was accidental, but completely worked to our advantage. It came from a friendly tug-of-war between members of the band that are into somewhat more current music and other members, like myself, that are trying to keep the old school alive. Where did your musical journey begin? How would you say your sound or your creative and professional approach has evolved over time? My musical journey began in Guadalajara, Jalisco during my early teens. I came from a family of musicians (on both sides!). Performing with professional bands, which consisted of my family members, gave me the proper “training wheels” to begin writing my own music and eventually become the frontman of a band. As the years went on I became more aware of what is needed to survive in the concrete jungle of LA as a musical artist. I also became more focused and determined on getting results. Less rock star, more business-like mentality. Creatively, I was continuously inspired by my other bandmates and other musicians I met at Pierce College, where I am now attending to get my bachelors in music. If someone could only listen to one out of your collection, what song would you suggest and why? I would say Tierra Lejana. I feel like that is the song that best represents who I am. It talks about the sentiments that I experienced as an immigrant, leaving it all behind in search of a better future. I know that is the song that truly tugs at the heart of others in similar situations or someone they might know going through the same hardships. Considering this country is made up of immigrants, that makes it a lot of people! What are some challenges you faced as up and coming artists? How have you overcome those challenges? One challenge has always been “paying our dues” and proving ourselves. As artists in L.A., we live in a culture where musicians must, to a certain degree, be exploited before getting into the prestigious venues and shows. Doing pay-to-play and that kind of thing. We had to put up with a lot of that before people truly started giving us a chance and started realizing our worth. And now, we are finally starting to reap the benefits of all the hard work and sacrifices made. What’s the best thing that could happen for King Sol & the Vibes in the next twelve months? The best thing that could happen to us ,in general, would be that we continue to receive the love and support of our amazing fans, the Vibeaholics, and for that to expand and reach new people all across the board: all ages, genders, nationalities, etc. The message we deliver is ultimately that of all the greats who came before us: A message of love, truth and freedom! • Alyx André Showcases Multi Skill-Set In Impressive Slew Of Singles

Alyx André is a singer/songwriter and producer from Brooklyn, NY. Always having a passion for music in him, Alyx began singing as early as two years old and has honed his craft over the years singing in church. Travelling all over the world, he’s toured and shared the stage with big names such as Israel Houghton, Hezekiah Walker, James Fortune, Livré, and many more. He has produced and written songs for artists locally, nationally, and internationally. What's next for Alyx André? To grow to become an established singer/songwriter/producer/executive in the music industry, and to touch people all over the world through music. We checked out three of Alyx’ tracks and we were not disappointed. The first track “Never Let Go” is a contagious urban-pop hit. The vocals have a really attractive tone to them, to the point where it’s genuinely disappointing when the track comes to an end. The melodies are consistently interesting and, hiding behind the satisfying and contemporary production chops, is a very traditional song arrangement of verses, choruses and a more broken-down bridge section. There are also plenty of little vocal ad-libs, sometimes cut up and repeated for maximum catchiness. “Never Let Go” hits so many sweet spots during its run time, it’s genuinely difficult not to keep hitting repeat as a reviewer. Bringing more of a soulful energy to the surface, Alyx André explodes through the speakers with “Never Deny You”. This track drives with a pop sentiment and a likable guitar riff that’s almost funk-inspired. The vocals keeps things soulful, fusing R&B and pop, and the contrast between the twinkling outer edges and the grit of that leading riff helps move things along in a seductively rhythmic manner. Then you get the equally seductive embrace of a classic and stylish “Only You”, a stunning retro sound arrangement brings character and quiet confidence; subtle swagger and flawless, mellow rhythm. The track goes on to envelop the listener as the pace increases, hints of Alyx André’s authenticity float through as the leading vocals work his poetic and topically provocative magic upon you. Check out all three singles on Spotify here and stay tuned for more with Alyx André below! Can you tell us a bit more about how you got started making music? When did you record your first track? I've been singing since the age of 2 and writing songs since grade school. Man, I remember I was maybe 12/13 years old. I had a gateway desktop and I would download instrumental beats. I had a cheap $5 regular computer mic and I recorded my first song on the windows sound recorder lol. I had no idea what I was doing but I was having fun and that pretty much how I got started making music. You can say this was my getaway. From there I got into Fruity Loops which we now know as FL Studio and would make beats on there. I would bring that same cheap computer mic to my friends house and we would just make music for fun. My passion for music increased as well as my talents and I knew this is what I wanted to do. Can you dive into some of the lyrics on your track “Never Deny You”? "Never Deny You" is basically me expressing my love for God. In life we go through so many ups and downs. I've had some difficult times myself, but what kept me sane is my faith and love for Jesus Christ. I'm still able to count my blessings, so with all the hell I've been through, I could never deny God. One of my favorite lines in that record is "Tell that Mona Lisa it's ok, cuz there's no perfect picture on a frame, love will spark the fire when it rains, if all you want is power then what's the gain?" That's so deep to me because everyone is trying to be perfect, and they view perfection as riches, power, wealth, success, women, etc. All that is good but there is no perfect person in the world. Stop trying to be perfect. Even the Mona Lisa as expensive and a master piece that it is, it not perfect itself. I'm sure there are flaws all over it. So it's ok to not be perfect. Love is what's gonna keep you in life's storms not perfect, and not power. What better love than God's love. That's the purest and most perfect love of all. That's what the world needs... Love. If all you want is power but have no love for people, what's the gain? What would you say were the main influences for this style you’ve achieved? The influence behind this song is a scripture in the bible where one of Jesus' disciples (Peter) denies Jesus 3 times when his life hit rock bottom. Jesus even told him beforehand that he was gonna deny him three times and Peter was like nah no way I'd never do that blah blah blah lol. Peter was like a ride or die, he was a goon for Jesus and had his back, but when it got rough, homie violated... So that's where the inspiration comes from. I also wanted to do something out the box and not your typical gospel song. I wanted something that everyone can listen to and vibe with. No matter what background, ethnicity, economic class, race, gender, etc. I wanted something simple but have a powerful message that resonates to everyone, and a chorus so simple and catchy that everyone can sing it. When everyone can sing your song, you got a hit! What would you say has been the single most influential or proud achievement of yours so far? Man, honestly just being able to have the confidence to be myself as an artist, singer, songwriter, and producer. I feel like so many people are masking or suppressing their gifts just to fit in with whats "popular". This has taken away from the authenticity of creatives and cause the music industry to be oversaturated with nonsense. This makes it harder for real talent to break in. They have to work three times as hard. I'm proud that I'm doing it my way. There are no rules or blueprint to this. Also as a songwriter I've also written a few records that have charted on the billboards so I'm proud of that. I'm just a kid from Brooklyn, NY with a story to tell! What can audiences look forward to from you over the coming months? I'll be releasing more music! I have three singles out right now and will be releasing more as well as an album. I look forward to touring and performing my music every and anywhere I can. Audience can follow me on instagram @alyxpennedit to keep up with dates, check out some clips of my creative process, and also just because I want y'all a part of my journey. Aside from being an artist, I love being a songwriter and music producer and I want my audience a part of that journey too. What’s something about you that most people don’t know? Hmm... I love food, I love learning to cook. (Notice I said learning lol), I love to travel. This may be weird but when I'm home, I cannot eat any food without watching a movie or a TV show. I have to have something to watch when I eat. I have no idea why but yeah lol. Keep updated with Alyx via the artists socials below! Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Catch Up With Lexie Martin!

Welcome back to BuzzMusic Lexie Martin! tell us about your transition from Long Island to Los Angeles, how has the change in scenery and environment inspired you? My transition from Long Island to Los Angeles hasn't been easy. I miss my family and friends back out east, but California is so beautiful and welcoming that it can make the hard times feel a little easier. Before coming to Los Angeles, I went to college at American University in Washington, DC. So I've been away from family before. But now it's just a longer plane ride versus a four hour drive. I'm very grateful for the people I've met and for the friends and connections I've made. I've definitely found a Los Angeles family out here through music. California's vibe has definitely influenced me. Had it not been for the incredible musicians I've met, there wouldn't be this EP. I got to work with incredible cowriters on three of the songs; Marissa Lauren, Juliet Piper, and Nash Overstreet. And then Nash also produced the EP. Being here in Los Angeles has put me in environment where I'm surrounded by gifted artists with the same passions; so that only fuels my music. What has been the most challenging aspect of your career thus far and how do you manage to overcome the obstacle? The most challenging aspect of this career thus far has been gaining that following. So I've been searching for a publicist. In the mean time, I post on social media regularly, reply to comments and messages asap, and try to make my posts as personable as possible to inspire that genuine connection between the viewer/listener and myself. We loved your single "I Can" the first time we heard it. It anticipated us for the release of your EP. Tell us about your full project, what was the major message you wanted your listener to perceive from this EP? I'm so happy you enjoyed "I Can"!  It was an absolute pleasure to create! For this EP I wanted songs that could be felt, understood and resonate among a variety of people. I wanted the lyrics and the production to be palatable and accessible while still having my own personal flair. There are songs for romance, heart ache, friendship, and most importantly self love. Because as the extraordinary RuPaul says, "If you can't love yourself, how in the hell are you gonna love somebody else?", and he's right! I want to spread as much light, love and positivity to as many people as possible, but that can't happen unless I am comfortable with myself first. Many people struggle with this, especially when it comes to body image. "I Can" and "Extra" speak from that place. Were there any specific arrangements you were going for during the creation of this EP? Arrangement-wise I wanted everything to be able to fit into the pop genre, but each song individually has its own specific elements. "Greatest Love" is influenced by Doo-wop, "Disclaimer" is influenced by EDM, "I Can" is influenced by R&B, and so on. How do you plan on elevating your next project from this EP that's already so substantial and timeless? First and foremost, thank you so much for taking the time to listen to my EP and thank you for the support and encouragement. I want people to love it and most importantly I want this EP to make people feel good about themselves. Going forward, anything I do will be unapologetically loud, proud and me. In a world where we have this pressure to look and act a c certain way based on what's shown commercially and through social media, I am giving you unfiltered realness. There is no "supposed to". There is only you. Going forward I am working towards a full length album and a music video for "Extra", which I can't wait to share with you all! • INTERVIEW: BuzzMusic Talks With REST100!

Welcome back to BuzzMusic Rest100! Growing up within different homes in New York, what has been the biggest lesson for you that has benefitted your career as an artist thus far? The biggest lesson that has benefited my career as an artist thus far is not being gullible enough to trust everyone. The funny thing is that a person with talent seems to attract the most toxic and volatile people. And in this day and age everyone is looking to take advantage of something that they have nothing to do with. You’ve been in the game for quite some time, in what ways has your artistry developed over the past decade? I have learned to adapt to the sound of the masses. And what I mean by that is that I haven’t isolated myself or my genre By only being able to create one Tune. I’ve studied other artist I’ve picked up on things that I was good at and I develop my own sound. We loved your hit “Need A Bag”. What was your vision for this single? Did you face any challenges in the production of it? I just wanted to show that I could make a catchy commercial single for the project. Many people believe that there are two people on this song but autotune can make you sound like a totally different person anyway. Not many challenges on the production side. I’ve been recording mixing and mastering my own music for almost 15 years now and I literally only began learning how to do that because nobody else believed in my music. As a hip-hop artist yourself, who would you consider some of your influences and who are some of the artists you’re listening to today? As an artist my main influence is my family its why I do anything I do. Money used to be the motivation but now creating a foundation and building a future is more important to me. When it comes to music I kind a give everybody else a shot so I’m willing to listen to everything and anything without bias. What’s next for Rest100? In the mist of raising six children being a husband creating music and working a job. I’m also out here going to school and filming the videos to the revelations project. I never really know what’s next I just know I have to do it! Check out REST100's latest tracks here, and discover more on REST100 via his socials! Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
