The admirable quality of being able to create music that your fans can relate to is hard to find but these guys have got it. We can’t wait to see what they do next! Check out “Money” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Welcome to BuzzMusic Como Brothers! How did you two begin making music together? We started out playing in cover bands in high school. We were in a Beatles tribute band with our dad and uncle at one point. Learning a lot of The Beatles music is what gave us an appreciation for songwriting. It made us want to write and perform our own songs. We've been writing, recording, and performing our songs ever since. What’s your writing process like as a duo? It really depends on the song. Sometimes we'll write a song totally together, and other times we'll start/finish an idea on our own. What does the track “Money” mean to you? What inspired it? "Money" is about wanting money so that you don't have financial worries. It's not about wanting money for the sake of money. Everybody wonders what it would feel like to win the lotto and not have a single financial concern - this song is a wish to experience that feeling. The song is also a lament that we currently do have to think about money and have to constantly figure out how to pay bills. What do you hope your listeners take away from it? I hope our listeners can relate to the feeling and dance to it. We also want our listeners to know that we don't really care about money itself. Loved ones and time are the two most important things in life; we just want money so that we can have more of that. We can care less about material things. From an artist’s perspective, what is your favorite lyric in “Money”? "They say that we living free, but I get charged every time I breath" is my favorite line! You really do get charged at every step that you take in life! Even the air at the gas station costs money. We love what Maddisun has to offer and we can’t wait to hear more! Listen to “Sorry” here and keep scrolling to read more with Maddisun! Hello Maddisun! Can you tell us what inspired this song “Sorry”? Hello! I was in a relationship with very conflicting lifestyle choices, and when things ended, it was almost expected but still really heartbreaking. Sometimes you both want different things and don’t know how to express that. In this case I got cheated on, and as any artist would do i wrote a song about it. I remember coming home from Europe and thinking well what do I tell my friends now? That inspired some of the lyrics. Your voice is timeless! What age did you begin singing? Have you had any classical training? Well thank you! I definitely use my vocals and my main instrument. I think I started singing as soon as I could talk! My parents describe me as always wanting to be the centre of attention, and express myself. Whether that be through clothes, or through singing and dancing.. I grew up listening to their music, their tapes and CDs in the truck and house. So I have a very 70s and classic rock influence, not really much classical training at all really, just singing Blondie and Heart at the top of my lungs. Can you dive into the details of your writing/creation process? When I’m writing music the inspiration can come from literally anywhere. My most recent song I wrote I was fishing on the river with my dad and it just came to me. Usually it’s the lyrics first, they will relate to something personal that’s been happening or that I experienced, I will be so eager to write, so I’ll rush home and play a piano melody to it, then work at it until I’ve got something I like. Sometimes this process is 15 minutes, sometimes it’s weeks... you never know. How did you perfect your style and sound? This actually took a good while, I cycled though wanting to be a punk rock chick (my song Not Your Baby demonstrates this) then doing the “singer songwriter” thing. I think I have really discovered that letting my voice shape the song and the mood is the easiest way to project my style. My vocals have sort of set this jazzy/soulful vibe for a lot of my music, it really helps me set the tone, and has helped dial in my sound. I’ve always been a solo performer and so I have to figure out basically everything on my own, and finding my “genre” was one of those things, so I think my experiences and life abroad contributed to that as well. What drives your passion for music? Really just the need to create. I don’t know how I would express some of the feelings I have or ideas if it wasn’t for music and songwriting. I feel things so deeply sometimes that I can’t just talk about it or do something to move past it, I have to write about it. This is how I felt with “Sorry” (I think he gets the point now) I just have so much fun in life, I’m extremely passionate about self expression and movement and just being yourself, and my music allows me to do that so freely. RETAIL is definitely the one to watch throughout 2019! Check out “Don’t Slow Down” here and read ore in our exclusive interview below! Hi RETAIL! Can you tell us about the meaning behind your song “Don’t Slow Down”? Well, like all break-up songs, “Don’t Slow Down” is a narcissistic attempt to have the last word about a relationship in a public setting. It’s about being convinced that your feelings are more valid than the person you’re in love with, and that if given the chance to explain yourself, you can fix any problems that you were having. What emotions did you channel when creating “Don’t Slow Down”? The whole song was written and recorded in 8 hours, while I had a 103 degree fever, and was out of my mind on painkillers, so I was mainly channeling frustration and loneliness, from being trapped in my room for a week. Actually the only reason there are such heavy vocal effects on the song is to mask the sound of snot and mucus that could be heard on the original vocal takes. How do you feed your passion for music everyday? If my interest in music was something I needed to feed, it wouldn’t be a passion. Being in a band and creating music sucks. It’s the absolute worst thing you could choose to do with your life. Nobody should do this. I’ve tried to completely quit and walk away several times, but I always get pulled back in. We will leave it up to the readers to see what we take from each artist, but since most lists of influences either read as a litmus test for the taste of the creator or a list of people more interesting than whoever is citing them as an inspiration, we would also encourage people to listen to the “Pain Olympics” series by Crack Cloud, “Ebracism” by Kirin J Callinan, and the most important album to RETAIL’s musical identity, “Virtue” by The Voidz. A multi- talented musical powerhouse, Natik produces, writes lyrics, and sings on every one of his songs to date. Natik’s blend of crisp harmonies and smoky, smooth verses carry his listeners on a trip through his stories. Some of Natik’s musical influences include Nick Jonas, Santana, Calvin Harris, Maroon 5, Kendrick Lamar, and Kygo. Natik was introduced to music at 6 years old with classical piano. He is a ninth-generation pianist in his family, and began playing with the help of his grandparents, who both are piano teachers. He began learning and playing jazz/rock piano at 12 years old, and later went on to lead his own band in the 7th grade. Natik began his solo career in his sophomore year of high school under his actual name, Nathan Kim. Through his new moniker, Natik’s music began to shift towards a pop style with an electric undertone, incorporating elements of funk and jazz that he grew up around. His most popular song to date is “Escape”, surpassing 150 thousand plays in over 50 countries. “F.Y.L.T.” by Natik is a sexy and cheeky new single that is guaranteed to have you singing along. “F.Y.L.T.” stands for “f*ck you like that” and the sultry piano and contagious bassline is the perfect foundation for the raw lyricism Natik brings to the table. A talented vocalist, Natik showcases his unique and individual tone in “F.Y.L.T.”. He changes things up by delivering flawless bars through every verse to prove his versatility and the authentic flare to his artistry. “F.Y.L.T.” is layered with elements of funk and jazz thanks to Natik diverse upbringing. The delicious urban pop track “F.Y.L.T.” is being added to my personal playlist and I highly recommend you do the same! Stay tuned for the release of Natik’s second EP, set for fall 2019. Check out “F.YL.T.” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Natik! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did moving to Nashville from Cleveland affect you as a musician? As an artist, I’m always taking away and getting inspired by the community of artists and creators around me. As soon as I got to Nashville, I was impressed and humbled by the level of talent that came out of this city. The amount of diverse musicianship and opportunities to collaborate allowed me to expand my depth as a writer and producer. Being in a place like this, I’ve been able to push myself to find out what I could bring to the music scene, and as a result I’ve found my niche that genuinely reflects my artistry. What do you hope your listeners take away from “F.Y.L.T.”? When we wrote this song, it was the most relaxed and fun process. You can dig as deep as you want for a message, but I think I’ll leave that open to the public for interpretation. As this song might suggest, I don’t take myself too seriously. This song was designed to make people have a good time. When I listen to any music, I look for that natural, indescribable force that makes me tap my foot, or bop my head. That’s the reaction I always search for in my listeners. If I’d take anything away from this song, it is to have fun, and don’t take life too seriously. What was the writing process for this song? What inspired it? We kind of went into this write not knowing what to expect. We started by deciding to write about my girl troubles, and luckily I had plenty of those at the time. That’s kind of how my writing works. I’ll be struggling with some shit and I’ll be like “damn this could be a cool song”. To sum it up, this song is about the dilemma of casual dating, starting with friendship, and only ending with blurred lines. If we go for a drink maybe I’ll give you details. When we were really starting from scratch, the whole song started with that intro. After that, we felt like it could have used a really powerful and energetic piano line to drive the song, and I ended up laying down that part. None of us really write rap, so we were kind of just messing around until we realized that the song was dope. If you catch yourself dancing to the idea of a song, you know it’ll be a good one. What challenges have you faced being an up and comer in Nashville? I’d say the biggest challenge that I’ve faced so far, is trying to find my sound and improving as an artist / producer. I think this is a challenge that every creator must face, but have fun with. I love the process learning and competing, and though I do face this challenge, I am blessed to be able to share and create music. In Nashville, pop is young in the sense that is still an emerging genre, but it’s growing. I want to be a part of the Nashville pop wave, and influence it in one way or another. What can your fans expect from your much anticipated second EP? Do you have an official release date? Fans, you should expect some spicy funky hip-hoppy pop! Yes, you heard that correctly. Well, I guess “read that correct” in this case. I’ll be honing- in on this new style that I’ve been moving towards. Expect energetic, expect groovy, and I expect y’all to be blasting this stuff with your friends. And while my music is constantly evolving, so is my message. I have plenty to talk about in this upcoming project, and I hope people get inspired. Right now there’s no official release date, but it should be announced soon, so stay tuned! Check out “Surreal” here and read more below in our chat with the band! Welcome to BuzzMusic Invisible Joe & The Mushroom Gorilla! Can you tell us a bit about yourselves and how you all met? We are an alternative rock band from Frankfurt area, Germany. We came together  in this rather classical rock line up beginning of 2018. We all come from other bands and projects to Invisible Joe with different musical background. Ben and Mike have been playing together for a couple of years, rehearsing with other musicians to complete a line up for alternative rock. When Aline joined, thething quite started. Hussein has been last to join the Band end 2017. He is coming with a metal background. It was easy to convince him to join How did Invisible Joe & The Mushroom Gorilla come to fruition? After just a few rehearsals, we went up on stage and it felt right. No matter what material we touched, it sounded like us. There is a common ground for all of us which is a riff based stoner or classic alternative rock with strong rhythmic elements and a traditional singing voice on top. We want to fuel people with good energy of groove and melody along our way and it seemed to work out until now. However, we still consider that we are just starting as a band, but playing live and recording our first EP at Watt Matters with Henning Strand has let us grow together even more. Tell us about your track “Surreal”! What’s the meaning behind the lyrics? Surreal is about moments in life, when everything comes together for perfection. We all probably know this feeling when you share such a moment with someone. Ben came up with the lyrics and song idea and we try to express this feeling. What was the writing process like for this track? Usually we would jam on some ideas during our rehearsal until we feel the right energy. There is no band reflection on what we want to sound like. We have jammed on other music genre songs. Surprisingly, they all sounded like IJMG. However, we follow a true live concept, keeping it down to the four instruments. We do not assembly or synthesize our music and don’t want to do it. Keeping it down to the four instruments. What you see is what you hear. For Surreal, the groove and licks were there after just a couple of minutes. It has not change since then. What’s next for Invisible Joe & The Mushroom Gorilla? We have been quite busy, playing gigs, rehearsing, recording these past months and lots of stuff that musicians shouldn´t do. Last month we recorded two videos that will release soon. Apart from a band contest we will be playing September - our rehearsal room will have us back full time. There are plenty of songs and ideas waiting in the drawers and we are keen to work on them and make them ours. For 2020, we will be open for live bookings again. Hopefully we will see you then! QueenLEFT is an artist who not only wants to change the music scene with her authenticity but change the hip-hop game bringing value and purpose in her craft of rap and singing. Born and raised in Rochester, NY, at age 14, Queen discovered her passion for wanting to become an entertainer. Equipped with a true love for music, QueenLEFT used to obsessively look into notable artists like Tupac Shakur and Lisa Left-Eye Lopes. She could relate to these two musical geniuses on a personal level regarding the subject matter and socially conscious vision they hold in their music. Not only is she a natural wordsmith, but Queen uses dance as an art form to express herself. Queen is using her musical styles of hip-hop/soul and jazz to show her versatility and bring her message to the world. Her new single “Queenz Reign” is a smooth hip-hop/R&B banger. QueenLEFT’s vocals along with her flawless flow make her an artist to beat! The multi-talented and explosive QueenLEFT needs to brag that she is the Queen. The seductive and fresh single “Queenz Reign” takes us through a journey. She exudes confidence and femininity through my speakers and I’m in awe of her effortless ability to demand attention from her listeners. Her fans can vibe and relate to “Queenz Reign”. The production is professional and well done. QueenLEFT’s mesmerizing sound arrangements paired with the track’s dope and heavy back beat have us craving more. I’m adding this track to my personal playlist. I highly recommend you vibe along to this single “Queenz Reign” and stay on the lookout for what QueenLEFT drops next! Check out “Queenz Reign” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with QueenLEFT. Hi QueenLEFT! Can you tell us more about yourself? How did you decide you wanted to pursue music? I am a very spiritual being here to express my soul to the world through my words, art, expression and creativity hoping to help heal and touch others in the ways I have been when it comes to my favorite artists. Im also a revolutionary so I’m always speaking and advocating for black voices and bodies and opening exposing what and who’s against us, how to fight and overthrow that mainly through my music. I decided I wanted to pursue music when I left college recognizing I wanna really u less I was involved with music or art in some way. Teamed back up with some other creative people and realized that was my passion and calling. We love your track “Queenz Reign”! What was the writing process like for this song? I was outside and the Sky was cloudy, like it was about to rain. So I just started to come up with things while waiting on the bus. I just said “queenz Reign will forever be pouring” and matched things that flowed with that statement. I wrote the chorus before I heard any music and just left it as that hoping I’d use it for something soon. Got the beat and I felt the energy matched the lyrics. “Queenz Reign” has a strong lyrical presence. Can you dive into more detail on this? So I just expressed how I felt about myself, my journey within myself and music and what I wanted to do. It’s a reflection record. It was like a “I’m the queen and when I do finally get to Reign, all the fruit that my tree bears will be consumed by those hungry for what I have to share and give.” I’m telling myself to never forget who you are and what you represent ever if others aren’t on your same frequency it isn’t your job to lower yourself, but to make them come up and get it. Don’t compromise yourself , if the sheeple want to continue to sleep, never allow that to lose your prowess as a lion. Stay true to who you are by reminding myself enabling me to stay connected with my higher self. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? To stay true to who you are and always go higher. It’s ok to be vulnerable, boastful, sad, happy, etc. always express yourself in healthy ways and be unapologetic within that. Being real with yourself is being real with everyone else. That it’s important to get to know yourself and uncover parts that are uncomfortable for you and everyone else. That it’s ok to think and go deep and not hide from yourself. How does your hometown affect who you are as an artist? I’m from Rochester NY but just NY in general, is to be authentic and never follow the crowd. Rochester is very creative, it’s so much talent and that’s what pushed me to be more expressive and follow the path I knew was right. ROC taught me to not be afraid to go out there and let your voice be heard. If there isn’t an avenue for you, create on or team up with people who are in the same grind as you. Always keep your head up and keep going and growing. ROC taught me how important it is to follow your dreams even if it’s not what others envisioned for you, and to do what’s feels right in your spirit. • Victoria K Wants To Find Her “Lacuna”

Victoria K is a metal singer/songwriter that pulls from her compositional influences such as Evanescence, Within Temptation, Nightwish and Kamelot amongst other current bands in the European Metal scene for inspiration. Her music has been likened to be a blend of these influences. Victoria K’s music has symphonic overtones and melodic vocals coupled with all the metal drum and guitar elements you'd expect from any metal track. Victoria K is currently in production for her debut solo album. Victoria K’s explosive track “Lacuna” tells an intricate story of finding the space where you belong. The retrospective lyricism lets the listener see inside Victoria’s powerful thoughts and feelings. Layered on top of hard-hitting symphony-like instrumental and pummeling guitars, “Lacuna” is an adrenaline shot of metal. Victoria K’s vocals are absolutely brilliant, they're ethereal and infectious and her range is shocking for her young age. Victoria is unapologetic herself and we can’t get enough! This metal diva is delivering nothing but hits and we can’t wait to see what she brings to the table next! Check out “Lacuna” here and read more with Victoria K in our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! We love your sound! Can you tell us more about your upbringing? How did you get started in music? Thank you so much for having me. When I was really young I had dance lessons and performed in musical theatre and when I turned 5 I started taking singing lessons through the dance school. It wasn’t long before I realised I was a lot better at singing than dancing haha, so I stopped the dancing and focused everything on singing and my singing lessons. It was when I was about 9 years old I first heard Evanescence. It really connected with me in a way no other music had before. That started my love for the symphonic metal style and I have never looked back. I also study Viola, play the piano and I just started learning the ocarina so I use those instruments to help in my song writing. The blend of an orchestra with heavy guitars is something that is really special. Tell us all about your new track “Lacuna”! What emotions did you channel when creating it? Before I started writing Lacuna I was looking for an idea so I turned to Latin words for inspiration, which I do quite often.  When I found the word Lacuna it really meant something to me.  Lacuna is Latin for missing space or missing page, so I decided to write a song around that missing space inside of us, that gap in our souls we all search to fill and for most of us never find. The emotions I channelled were feelings like hope, longing and things like that. What was the writing process like for “Lacuna”? Well like I said I based the song around the word Lacuna.  I thought when I was writing it that this could relate to many people and myself because it’s a very common thing that we feel and don’t realise.  I wrote the lyrics first then worked out the melody on piano and put chords under that as well. This gave me the basic structure. Then I went and refined what I had with my producer.  We worked out how each instrument should sound and how it will fit in the song. That’s how we got the final product. We love your authentic and powerful vocals, have you had any professional training? I have been getting professional training for as long as I can remember. I started with musical theatre singing then went on to contemporary vocal training now for the past couple of years I have been doing classical voice and opera training. What can we expect from your debut EP? Well we are thinking of releasing my album hopefully next year. I have been influenced quite heavily by bands like Eluveitie, Nightwish, Eleine, Kamelot and of course Evanescence. So in my debut album you can expect a lot of different sounds blended together in interesting ways. There are some Mediterranean folk sounds and some Celtic folk sounds blended in with the heavy guitars. Every song brings something different and unique to the overall sound of the album. There are many different elements to this album and I can’t wait to share it with everyone. Connect with Victoria K on social media www.instagram.com/victoria_k_music

Listen to “The Dreamers” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Annielle! Can you tell us more about your upbringing and musical influences growing up? I was raised in a musical family. My father worked as a music teacher and cantor. I grew up singing gospel music and hymns in the church and started to play the classical guitar at early age. As a teenager I started to write and sing my own songs and besides I was listening to artists like Sting, Alanis Morisette, Lenny Kravitz, Stacey Kent and Björk. Artists that inspired my songwriting and still inspires me. What’s the main message you want to spread in “The Dreamers”? If you have a dream, don’t let it slip away. Dreams are powerful and makes your path full of meaning. Trust your gut feeling and don’t worry so much about what other people think about your way of living. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music as a whole? I hope my music gives a feeling of peace and joy. What is your writing process like? I often write lyrics first. When ever I feel inspired I write lyrics using my smartphone. Then I sit with my guitar and try out different melodies. Lately I been working with mind maps and found it very creative and fun. What’s your stage presence like? When I’m on stage I often feel peaceful and calm. I love to be on stage telling stories and hopefully inspire people.
