  • Get Lost In The Contagious Melodies Of “She Comes And Goes” By The Dangerous

Making noise out of San Jose, California, The Dangerous is an indie reggae band that formed in 2018. Childhood friends and founders, Keviano Azevedo and Edgar Fernandez are no strangers to the music industry having come from indie rock group Citabria that achieved some mainstream success. Their latest project, The Dangerous stems from their love of reggae music combined with their past experiences of rock and electronic sounds. Their newest members include Manuel Ramos on bass and Anthony Perez on guitar. Both members bring their experiences along for the ride having come from Reggae bands of their own. Travis is the most recent addition to the band contributing on the keyboards. The Dangerous released their debut album “Made of Gold” April 20, 2019. “She Comes and Goes” is a smooth reggae track by The Dangerous that flows through emotive lyricism, rhythmic textures, and an authentic and original reggae sound. The Dangerous have a sound unlike anything we’ve heard before! We love the chemistry and individuality that comes free-flowing through  the speakers. “She Comes and Goes” is all about the highs and lows of this man losing his girl. I believe that it can be interpreted by the listener depending on their circumstances and I’d love to know The Dangerous’ inspiration. The groovy tunes and catchy melodies demand to be heard while the vocals are clean and take the listener on a journey. Get lost in the musical stylings of The Dangerous and stay on the lookout for what they deliver next! Check out “She Comes and Goes” here and read more below in our exclusive interview with The Dangerous! Hey guys! Can you tell us more about how you all met and how you created the name The Dangerous? Keviano- Edgar and I have been friends and creating music in multiple projects together since  2001. We met Anthony through another close friend when we were active in another reggae band. Manny also came into that scene around the same time, however he was playing with another band. Travis and I shared a Jazz Improv class when I attempted to go to college. I reconnected with Travis randomly at an old rehearsal studio. We started making beats together and a couple years later he joined The Dangerous. Coming up with a band name has always been difficult in the past but this time around it didn’t take long. Originally I came up with Stepping Razor, which I dug. It was taken from a Peter Tosh song but then I looked up The Dangerous (which was also part of the lyrics), and it wasn’t taken. I couldn’t believe it. It was easy for all of us to agree on the name. In what ways do your different personalities coming together influence your music? Keviano- Everyone brings their individual voice to the sound. We share similar taste in musical directions but who we are individually is what really defines our uniqueness. Manny is rooted deep in older reggae and old R&B, so his bass lines are usually really tasteful and fat. Anthony has the capability to rip a crazy guitar solo but he also has a beautiful way of constructing melodies and accompaniment. Travis is a wizard when is comes to creating harmony and guiding the direction of a song’s energy. Edgar has a great sense of direction for arrangements and always has a new groove up his sleeve. I’m usually the one recording/engineering everything. I’m also the one always searching for new sounds. My goal is to keep the creative flow moving forward. Can you tell us more about the meaning behind “She Comes And Goes”? Edgar- I think I recall this being the second song we wrote for the album. Keviano originally came up with the progression and bassline. We then started coming up with arrangements and then I came up with the guitar line in the intro. I didn't have much experience writing vocal ideas at this point since I've been strictly an instrumentalist pretty much my whole musical career. I remember writing lyrics and vocal melodies taking a long time to develop and actually most lyrics were written by Keviano with me only making suggestions here and there. This song is about being with someone you really desire to be with but they come and go at their own leisure. At the same time, making you realize that this person isn't worth your efforts. How has the California music scene influenced your music? Edgar- We're all Cali natives and grew up here so thats all we know. As far as influence goes, I think it's beyond the music. Its the lifestyle we live and the abundance of cultures constantly melding new trends and musical styles. What’s next for The Dangerous? Edgar- Right now we're focusing mainly on our live performances and working on putting a tour together to end 2019. In parallel, we're working on a whole batch of new songs that will eventually become our sophomore album. Release date is TBD. Thank you to all that have followed us and continue to show their support. Peace & Love. Keep up with The Dangerous! www.instagram.com/thedangerous.gram www.facebook.com/thedangerous408 #BuzzMusic

Tapping into her R&B roots, she'll have you mesmerized and dancing along with her addicting melodies and rhythmic hooks. Prior to blazing her own trail as a solo musician, Lulise has been writing and performing with pop duo Honey and Jude over the last 3 years. As a part of Honey and Jude, she co-wrote and collaborated with producers such as Andres Torres (Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato) and Chapters (5 Seconds Of Summer, Jessie J). The emotive lyricism is raw and truthful, we love artists that are able to be vulnerable and open through addicting contemporary rhythms. “Taken” is all about wanting what you can’t have. It tells a story of having feelings for someone who’s in a relationship and dealing with the feelings that come with that blow of realization. Check out “Taken” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with Lulise. Welcome to BuzzMusic Lulise! We hear this is your first year going solo with your music! Can you tell us how this experience has been for you so far? Thank you so much for having me! Yes! Going solo has been quite the experience! After being in my duo, Honey and Jude, I was accustomed to having someone to share the load with and all of a sudden I had to do everything myself; creating content, writing the songs, video ideas, branding, running socials…everything! I could not be more grateful for everything I learned while performing with Honey and Jude. My time performing in the duo has definitely made me a better solo artist. What I have loved about going solo is that my voice and my vision is shining through more than it ever has before. I have loved discovering who I am, what I have to say and what it’s going to sound like. How long have you been singing and performing? What do you love most about being on stage? My whole life! I grew up singing in church, in local musical theater productions, in voice lessons & showcases, I went to LACHSA a performing arts high school, during high school I was doing regular local gigs singing in restaurants, went on to study music in college and now here I am! My favorite thing about performing is the freedom I feel when I am singing. There is truly no other feeling like it in the world! What does “Taken” mean to you? What inspired you to create "Taken"? Taken is my favorite song I have put out to date! The chord progression, the melodies and the lyrics really tell the story of who I am as an artist. It was inspired by a real life situation I went through (i had a crush on a guy that I found out had a girlfriend </3) & I got to finish the song with one of my favorite artist/producers, Pretty Sister. I love that it shows off my voice, my writing ability and my vulnerable heart. You are born and raised in Los Angeles, so amazing! How did your surroundings inspire you to pursue your dreams? Everything about this city inspires me. From the people to the streets, from the mountains to the beach, LA is buzzing with inspiring energy emitting from the countless dreamers chasing their goals. There's never a dull or uninspiring moment in LA and I feel very blessed to live in this city. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? I hope my music becomes apart of people’s lives. Whether it’s to get over a crush with ‘Taken’, or to feel confident & sexy with ‘Read My Hips’, I hope my songs become the soundtrack of the unforgettable memories in people’s lives. • Find Your Inner Strength With Lauren Marsh’s Empowering Hit “Fire In Me”

Less than a year ago, Philadelphia based singer-songwriter, Lauren Marsh, graced fans with her stripped-back, indie-pop focused EP, Revival. Following the release of Revival, this rising songstress signed to the London and New York City based, independent record label, FrtyFve. Marsh immersed herself in the studio, writing and recording new music, and is now in the midst of releasing songs off her new EP, Silhouettes. Marsh’s new EP explores the extreme highs and lows of life. From discovering love, to experiencing some of the worst the world has to offer, she draws from her personal experiences and gives us her fresh take. “Sometimes life gives you a sharp turn in the road. How you handle that turn can tell you a lot about who you are.” - Lauren Marsh “Fire In Me” is a fresh track about finding our inner passion and strength and throwing it fully into our love. Throughout the stunning music video “Fire In Me”, Lauren is seen delivering powerful vocals with precision and ease. She gracefully and emotionally gives us musical brilliance. The defining line of the song is "Tragedy could strike in a minute, don’t worry ‘cause I’m with you in it." and this resonates with me because it represents being completely dedicated to the one you love, regardless of what life takes you through together. I love the simplicity of the music video, it’s raw and inspiring and showcases Lauren’s true self in order to build stronger connections with her fans.  Lauren Marsh really shows her vulnerability in this song, through the alluring lyrics, hypnotizing sound arrangements and the way she pours her heart and soul into every word. Check out “Fire In Me” here and read more with Lauren Marsh in our exclusive interview below! Hey Lauren! Can you start by introducing yourself and telling the readers how you got started making music? I’m Lauren Marsh, an indie-pop singer-songwriter. I’m based just outside of Philadelphia. I’ve been writing songs since I was 14 and released my first record when I was 21. In 2016, my original song “Dear Love” was picked up by CBS and featured on an episode of NCIS: New Orleans. From there “Dear Love” gained traction on Spotify with placements on editorial playlists and it currently exceeds 7 million Spotify streams. I’ve been really lucky to perform as an opening pre-show act for artists like Don McLean, Andy Grammer, Gavin DeGraw, Sutton Foster, Howie Day, Air Supply, and Anna Nalick. I recently signed my first recording contract with FrtyFve, an independent label based out of New York City and London. Since the spring I have been releasing songs off my new EP Silhouettes with my latest release being my original song, “Fire In Me”. Your song “Fire In Me” is so inspiring. Can you describe your writing process and what inspired this song? “Fire In Me” is a love song about knowing one’s own heart and not being afraid to give it your all. It’s also about celebrating confidence in women, supporting their independence to make their own decisions and know what they want in relationships. I had been playing around with the song’s chords for a few weeks and had an idea of where I wanted the melody and lyrics to go. Some songs come together all at once and others can take a few weeks to really work themselves out. I knew I wanted “Fire In Me” to be an upbeat, good-vibe song and that made it really fun work on the production. We love the music video! We can really see the passion in your words. How do you hope your fans interpret the video for “Fire In Me”? I hope that my fans can see how much fun I had working on this video! I wanted the video for “Fire In Me” to feel confident and highlight the storytelling side of being a songwriter. I think we can all relate to having an inner monologue, especially when it comes to figuring out our own feelings. This video zeros in on that voice we all have inside our heads and how we balance it with our gut reaction, what we know and feel in our hearts. There’s always a push and pull, but deep down we ultimately know exactly how we feel and what we want. Who are you biggest influences artistically? I have such a mix of influences. I grew up listening to and learning classic rock songs by bands like Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, and Lynyrd Skynyrd. I’ve always been so inspired by songwriters like Bruce Springsteen, Bob Dylan, and Joni Mitchell. I spent most of my high school into early college years studying these songwriters along with jazz vocalists like Ella Fitzgerald. When I started focusing on my own songwriting craft, I was deeply influenced by artists like Florence + The Machine, Adele, Sara Bareilles, and Regina Spektar. I still try to listen to everything I can today. I’ll go back and forth some days from rock bands like The War On Drugs to some of the new indie pop artists and then go through the newly released records section on music platforms. I find it’s best to never be influenced by one genre or artist, but to always be listening to as much music as I can. What’s next for you? I’m really excited to be performing with my band at Musikfest 2019 in Bethlehem, PA on Saturday August 10th at 12 noon on the Plaza Tropical stage. We’re all thrilled to be performing at this festival. I’m also looking forward to releasing the final song off my new EP Silhouettes towards the end of summer. Growing up amongst individuals from other Caribbean countries like Jamaica and Trinidad, he found a sense of belonging at a very young age learning the cultural similarities between the Caribbean islands and his parents homeland in Guyana, South America. Reefah is an artist growing and developing the deeper he emerges himself into the music. The track is a self-empowering anthem all about Reefah’s pride. It features storytelling elements of how Reefah became who he is today. His proud of his diversity and cultural upbringing. He fuses a contemporary reggae sound with his authentic flare and create musical excellence. Instrumental additions create a mind-blowing soundscape and take the listener on a journey like no other. We love and admire the confidence and bad boy aesthetic that Reefah exudes. “Baddest Indian” is being added to my summer playlist and I highly recommend you do the same! Check out “Baddest Indian” here and read more below in our interview below. Hey Reefah! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started in the music industry? I honestly started by taking the time to learn and mold my craft as a singer/songwriter. When I began doing music I was just writing lyrics out of thin air or from a instrumental on YouTube. I quickly realized in order to really express myself I would have to learn how to play an instrument. I chose to learn to play the guitar and it opened up my musical horizon as well as setting up a home studio for a creative outlet to record my ideas. I took the time and put the work in to really get to know myself as an artist and to continuously learn and grow. Was there a specific event/person in your life that made you get into music/ start recording your material? After working on my craft for a couple of years. In 2016 I went to Kingston Jamaica for my first time by myself. Being that I make Reggae music I always knew that I would have to go where Reggae music originated. I always told myself that in order to continue my pursuit in this music I would need to get a "Stamp of Approval" from the people out of Love and Respect. I had to make sure they understood who I was and what it is I'm really trying to do and say. Reggae music is so powerful and influential to the world and I didn't want to do it any other way. It was only until I went to Trenchtown which is the birthplace of Reggae and home to many legends alongside Bob Marley where I was blessed with the opportunity to learn more. After visiting the legendary Culture Yard where many of these legends resided I met with some local musicians who took me through the streets of Trenchtown, where we would eventually end up at the local studio to record a demo the same day. The response was great and it wasn't very long until my now brothers and I decided that this is something we need to work and build on. I went back home after that trip a different person and the feelings and visions that I had been manifesting were beginning to come true. It elevated me as an artist and motivated me to return the following year to record my Ep and then again in 2018 to record my album 'Reefah'. Who are you musical influences and how do they help shape your sound? Bob Marley is obviously my main influence. What he represented and what he strived for really inspired me to work hard and to create a legacy for myself and to have something that I can leave for the world even when I'm not here anymore physically. To see the legacy continue with his sons is very influential for me as well. Stephen Marley and Damian Marley are big influences for me, to see them continuously working, touring, recording, producing and just constantly releasing great music year after year is amazing. Their work ethic is truely inspiring. So many reggae artists to mention throughout every decade. I listen to so much reggae music and I'm always discovering older songs and artists I didn't know before. It's one of the things I love about Reggae music I'm always inspired. What does “Baddest Indian” mean to you? What do you want your listeners to take away from it? Being that this was my first album I want the world to know who I am and where I come from. I'm proud of my culture and my identity and its something I think everyone should be. I felt it was only right to start my album with a declaration of who I am and what my intentions are as artist. I speak on a few feelings and topics that we go through as every people. I can only hope the listeners feel my truth in the song and to try and be more consciously aware about themselves and what's going on in the world and to hopefully learn who they really are and what their purpose is in life. What’s next for Reefah? At the moment I am in the process of writing my next album which I plan to go back to Jamaica to record some time next year in Kingston at the legendary Tuff Gong Studios. It's a dream of mine and I'm very excited but also working very hard towards that time writing new material and also doing what I need to do in order to make all of it actually happen. Until then it's all about me spreading the music and positivity to everyone and developing new content. I've only just begun and I have many goals and ideas I'd like to pursue, but I believe the universe will align everything in its rightful place and time as long as I keep doing the work I was put on this earth to do. How did you come up with your unique style and flow? Growing up on hip-hop I loved listening to lyricists and how they delivered lines with amazing wordplay. My flow style grew from that; where my music shows you a different perspective you never thought of before or show you something you already knew in a whole new manner. “Bad Habits” is a dope track! Tell us a bit about it. What was the writing process like? It was kinda therapeutic for me. During the time, I had some brothers who were trying to focus on doing positive things but a few weren't happy they were trying to better themselves. Which upset me. From there I got the wiring and 'bad habits' was born. What first inspired you to start writing music? I would have to say my great grandfather from Jamaica, who unfortunately passed. Every since I was a kid he told me I would be making music or be a Dj. What are a few things you’d love for your fans to know about you? I'm really humbled by the love my fans show me, it still amazes me. They also tend to comment on what they like and don't and I appreciate that because it gets me amped to make sure that every song I make is on point for my fans. Do you listen to other genres other than hip-hop? Do you try and incorporate these genres into your style? I listen to all forms of music but of course, Hip-hop is my first love. I'm also into r&b, some pop and alternative way too many to name. Also, I love reggae and I'm currently working on a few reggae-inspired songs myself. His listeners and fans are instantly addicted to NTY ZANDER’s sound and there are big things coming for NTY ZANDER in the future. Stay on the lookout for the prolific rhyme slinger, rap artist extraordinaire, NTY ZANDER. Check out “My City” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hey NTY ZANDER! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tells us more about your upbringing and how you got started in music? For me as an artist my artistic interests are deeply rooted by R&B, Hip-hop and Dance hall culture. At an early age of 4 on my birthday which coincidentally falls on Christmas Eve, I received Lil Bow Wow’s, “Doggy Bag” album as a gift and it would become a pivotal moment in sparking my passion for music. One of my favourite memories as a young adult growing up in a close knit family was attending family BBQ’s in the summer where the music being played would set the tone for the party, ranging from rambunctious to groovy rhythms from famous dancehall artists such as Vybz Kartel, Buju Banton, Sizzla and Busy Signal just to name a few. Just like these artists I aim to make songs that can be played at parties and can allow people to vibe freely. But at the age of 19, I experienced my first heartbreak, which came as a surprise to me and those who knew me as I was the one that was known for breaking hearts. This experience would change my music drastically as my lyrics would came closer from my broken heart and my sound would become more potent. I began to take my craft more seriously and as I invested more time into my passion, my cadence, delivery, and flow which would make my latest music more vulnerable and more relatable to my fans. What does your track “My City” mean to you? What do you want your listeners to take away from it? I feel strongly about all my singles but “My City” holds a little more weight as I am rapping about my perspective of the city and essentially my country as a whole. Growing up in an urban community I have always had an utmost passion for the sport of Basketball, but the city of Toronto wasn’t always able to put forth a team that was a championship contender, but that all changed after the Raptors were able to acquire Kawhi Leonard last summer. The Raptors season brought forth a lot of excitement in the city and that reached a manic peak when the Raptors were able to stop the Golden State Warriors from a 3-peat and captured their first NBA Championship. The excitement in the city was a contagious vibe and the release of “My City” was just perfect timing, a song that all Torontonians can relate to but also when heard by an outsider they would be able to understand the importance of the time in “My City”. What challenges have you faced as an up and coming artist? How do you overcome those challenges? As the only one pursuing a career in music in my family, the challenges as an up and coming artist start for me right at home. My mother lacks patience for my vision, coming from a single parent household my mother wants for me to succeed in the conventional way by pursuing a post-secondary degree but my passion lies deeply in creating music. Though this is a definite challenge I am able to overcome it by reprogramming my mental state by ultimately understanding that there is power in silence. This quote by Pele really relays the message in my mind of how I look at any challenges I have faced as an up and coming artist. "Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." -Pele How do you feed your passion for music everyday? Those around me know that there isn’t a day without me recording a new melody, listening to new beats or studying the greats before me. Though I don’t like labels, I envision myself as songwriter, singer, producer and director, and I work on improving myself in each category everyday as I want my fans to be able to experience the best from me in all aspects. What’s next for NTY ZANDER? Next I would like to announce that my first mixtape entitled “Mixed Feelings” will be coming soon and will be a 30 minute piece of work. Look forward to the mixtape dropping sometime in the fall as the music created would suit the vibe entirely. “Mixed Feelings” will be my most impressive work yet, due to the fact that I challenged myself to step out of my comfort zone and sort of reinvent my sound. The fans really loved my single, “Confessions” and the music video for it, and I have decided to create “Confessions Pt.II” for them on the mixtape. The songs on my highly anticipated first mixtape, “Mixed Feelings” were created to be enjoyed without an expiry date and each song will have a narrative along with a visual to support it. I am excited to share “Mixed Feelings” with the world and it will be available for streaming on all major streaming platforms. Stay connected! www.instagram.com/ntyzander #BuzzMusic

  • Miss Pvssy Is Slaying The Charts With “Slay”

Born all the way on the southside of Chicago, Miss Pvssy found her love in music inspired by her older sister. Miss Pvssy recently released her first freestyle video last March which helped her perform at places she only dreamed of performing at. After ChiRaq Freestyle, Pvssy release 2 more freestyle videos in a short film called “SELF- the introduction” which featured“Just Ain’t Me” and “Beach Is Better” that showed even more of her fierce hardcore lyrics and style. Miss Pvssy seems to be making a name for herself, and we couldn’t be any more excited to hear the release of her single titled “Slay” and this song was a HIT. The banging beat had my head swaying and feeling the track even more. Miss Pvssy's bold lyricism made this song edgy and gave it a raw and hardcore vibe to the record. Miss Pvssy delivers every part of the song in an aggressive yet relaxed vocal delivery. Miss Pvssy gives the right amount of attitude to the record that will have the listener feeling every bit of the song. You’re bound to feel a new overwhelming feeling of confidence from listening to this record. Miss Pvssy has unique artistry that not many other artists can project. She’s confident, talented, and easily digestible to this current age of hip-hop. Miss Pvssy seems like the next big thing to come out of Chicago, and we’re excited to see what she has in store for us next! Listen to "Slay" here and get to know more about Miss Pvssy below! Welcome to Buzzmusic Miss Pvssy! Tell us about your journey so far. What has been the most monumental moment in your career so far for you? Being such a new artist I’m like a kid on a family vacation. Everything is so new and beautiful like I dreamed. I want to just inhale it all in one by one and take my time. One I could name is after a performance I had, a beautiful girl cried telling me “thank you, don’t stop what your doing!” Ive gotten this before and it always brings tears to me. Not that it made me feel accomplished but for her. I feel like whatever she felt while I was performing made her feel brave, within. To be the strongest version of herself. If I can touch someone to not let go or feel insecure, I will dammit! What are some challenges you face? How do you manage to overcome these obstacles? Rule #1 is stay in your OWN lane. I’m not here to compete because there’s only one of me. Everyone has their own special powers but they’re never the same. If we realize it doesn’t have to be a competition we will stop feeling as if we’re “struggling” and enjoy where life has placed us for the moment. It’s steps to success and I love each one! I’ll even sit back on some for a bit to meditate and get my mind right. Rule #2 I could say being black and queer but instead I refuse to sit on that but to show our worth. We’re so powerful and talented. I live with a positive mind as a sword so excuse me if I refuse to name a challenge. I’ll call them lessons and in that case they’re meant to be there. Accepting everything won’t go as YOUR plan but as God will help you accept even the closed doors. When you have something, nothing can break it not even a “challenge”. We loved your record “Slay”. What was the goal of this song? What was the main theme? Thank you! It was perfect timing for me wanting to do a track that wasn’t a freestyle. I met a great producer at a Charli XCX house party named OhBoy. I ended up clicking with him and his rainbow of creative friends and was invited to jam out the next night. They were visiting from Australia so I figured we would have a cool freestyle session and that’s all. Soon as I walked in OhBoy and engineer Curtis, had a track saying it’s for me! Not going to lie I was nervous how the verses would get done so fast. Verses aren’t easy to create sometimes and are important to the song. Soon as he played the track I just heard the verse! A artist DiscoShrine was there and was down to add some soft cute vocals to the hook and chorus and bam! OhBoy gave me a lot of permission for this track and didn’t give me a theme. The goal for us was to create a song that made people want to let go and have fun. How music should be. We go through shit in our lives and a good dance song with a wild Southside chick on it, wants to help! Wipe those tears and SLAY life! What inspired you to write “Slay”? Any verse I write is a mixture of life I lived, saw and want to talk about. My music like ChiRaq Freestyle and Beach Is Better are full of that rap bitch confidence. Lil Kim and Missy wrote songs like this that after made you feel brave and willing to take 0 crap! I want the listener to feel powerful inside. Throw them hands up and go cray and SLAY! What’s next for you Miss Pvssy? We're excited to hear what you're working on I appreciate it, this is for sure the beginning! I’m excited to work on the Music Video and travel more. Traveling internationally is another dream of mine so to perform and travel aboard will be next. Contracts being signed okur! Stay tuned on my YouTube I’m posting more videos and Vlogs coming as well. Sis isn’t going anywhere okay, she’s here to SLAY! Connect with Miss Pvssy on social media www.instagram.com/Miss_Pvssy
