Tuexday, is an emerging alternative artist, songwriter and recording engineer fom right here in Los Angeles. Growing up in the 90's and early 2000's, Tuexday was heavily influenced by artists like Interpol, Oasis, The Smashing Pumpkins, and Third Eye Blind, but has since incorporated elements of pop and electronic music into his songwriting and production. His music is inspired by personal relationships, heartbreak, and the journey to becoming a successful artist in this new-age of music. “Dance Alone” is an experimental track unlike anything we’ve ever heard before. Tuexday expertly fuses everything from alternative light rock to old school hip-hop. His flawless verses bounce perfectly over the catchy melody and toe-tapping riffs. Don’t let the upbeat and groovy hit fool you, the lyrics are intensely melancholic and emotional. Tuexday has the admirable ability of becoming extremely vulnerable through his lyrics and putting them on display to form unbreakable connections with his fans. Tuexday’s sound is a part of a refreshing new wave in the alternative genre, and as his audience grows, so does his musical creativity and penmanship. We can’t wait to see what he delivers next! Check out “Dance Alone” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Tuexday! Can you start by introducing yourself and telling us more about your launch into music? Of course. My name is Tuexday, I’m an alternative artist currently residing in Los Angeles.  I’ve been a songwriter for a few years now for various genres of music. Recently I decided to start releasing my own brand of alternative rock.  So far, the response to it has been awesome. “Dance Alone” is such an authentic track! How did you come up with it? I was in my home studio just vibing to the beat and started dancing. I was by myself so I just thought “who cares if I dance alone, I’m having fun”. The concept kind of grew from there. I wanted to make something super upbeat and fun but with lyrics that kind of told a story. Who are your top three musical influences? Kid Cudi, Interpol, and anything 80s and 90s. How do you feel about today’s mainstream music? What makes you stand out? Today’s mainstream music is good. There seems to be a return to innocence and having fun. Thats what I love about it. I think the biggest thing that makes me stand out is I was pretty much raised on hip-hop music, so my background and image is urban. Alternative music has always been apart of my life but I wasn’t able to really appreciate it until I was able to become more cultured.  So when someone sees me, from first glance they may think I make urban music but nope! What’s next for Tuexday? Right now I’m focusing on building a nice fan base and getting my music out there.  I have a few songs that will be releasing on the major platforms. Videos are being planned as well. But basically, i’m trying to take over L.A. Connect with Tuexday on social media www.instagram.com/yotuexday www.twitter.com/yotuexday

Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you start by telling us more about how you got started making music? I started making music as a way to cope with the stresses of war while in a combat zone. My comrades encouraged me to continue because they knew it would help with my PTSD. I would of never been able to start to grow and build my sound my sound without my platoon. How did you come up with this stage name? I first heard the word Azazel in a movie called “Fallen” with Denzil Washington. Azazel was a character in this movie, a supernatural entity that could transfer their consciousness by touch. In other words move from person to person just by touching that person. I thought to myself that would be great if I could do that with my music, touch people in a spiritual way that they could feel what I feel. What’s the meaning behind your track “Armageddon”? Armageddon initially started off as a challenge, my best friend challenged me to make a unique song. When I asked him what do you mean, he replied;”I want you to make a song using as many words that start with the letter U”. He had picked damn near the hardest letter to work with, but I accepted the challenge. If you listen carefully to the track you can hear over ninety different words that start with the letter U. Later the track turned into something so much more, I talk about a wide range of topics while still keeping true to the challenge. What emotions do you have to channel when creating your music? I think about all my brothers in arms that have fallen and did not have a chance to live out life the way they wanted to. What’s next for you and your career? I plan to release my first ep on all digital platforms, shoot a video to put it on worldstar, and I’m currently working on getting an article write up in XXL Magazine. • NEW MUSIC RADAR: E1SA and D-Felic Drop “Think Twice"

E1SA, a.k.a. Eileen Torres began singing before she could ride a bike and quickly discovered her lifelong passion, one that has led to performing, recording and creating original music. E1SA has worked with countless SoCal hip-hop artists and fronted the soulful collective Children of the Sun where she wrote 11 out of the 12 songs on the bands album. Taking a step back from music to focus on family, E1SA re-emerged in 2018 with the release of her single with D-Felic “Magical”. D-Felic has been making music his entire life! He’s been DJ’ing and live performing for more than 2 decades. After releasing his debut album in 2010, his solo career took flight and has released music on various EPs, including releases on labels like Tru Thoughts and Deeplomatic Recordings. With many original songs and remixes of many artists, D-Felic is a self-made, veteren artist. Explosive collaboration of E1SA and D-Felic curates ambient hip-hop excellence in their latest “Think Twice”. Layers of smooth musical arrangements by D-Felic prove his years experience. The finely-calibrated sound fused with E1SA’s powerful vocals is mesmerizing. “Think Twice” is a confidence anthem that focuses on empowerment and questioning someone's decision to walk away. Her angelic vocal tone demands to be heard while the heavy yet sultry melody takes hold of the listener. The ups and downs of “Think Twice” are a welcome and the lyrics weave through storytelling elements of this retrospective track. We love this chill summer jam and we hope we see more collaborations from E1SA and D-Felic! Check out “Think Twice” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic E1SA and D-Felic! How did you two meet and decide to make music together? We connected by way of mutual music friends. D-Felic hit me up and I googled him to see if he was truly about his music and peeped his Soundcloud. He sent me some open tracks which I vibed to and started writing instantly. What’s the meaning behind your track “Think Twice”? What was the writing process like? It was inspired by someone who urked me. A pet peeve of mine are people who feel entitled. They demand your time and energy without providing any sort of value, they look out for themselves, not you; takers, not givers... and how if they flex on you this way, it will change the trajectory of your relationship. This song isn't written in a standard format, which I like. I moreoften tend to think of my melodies in phrases rather than stories as a whole so it came easy to me. What are some challenges you faced while creating “Think Twice”? How did you overcome those challenges? I recorded my initial ideas on my iphone and uploaded them to Dropbox so D-Felic could place it within the track and see how it fits. Since we live on different continents, this has been the method that has worked great for us. I went to the studio in LA and recorded everything over so he'd have a clean version. But when he pieced the new recordings together, we noticed it didn't quite capture the authenticity of my initial mood. So we ended up using the demos for the track. Sometimes the organic sound is better than being precise and it worked well, given the spacey landscape of the song. Can we expect to see more collaborations in the future? Yes. This is our 2nd single and plan to work on more music and eventually release an ep. Whats next for you both? Aside from working on music together, we are individually working on seperate projects. I have some songs recorded for my solo ep that I look forward to releasing soon and D-Felic has collaborations with other artists coming out as well. • Feel Empowered With Kimberly Knighton’s New Vulnerable Single “Fade Away”

Kimberly Knighton is a singer/songwriter based in Salt Lake City, Utah. Influenced by legends like Carole King, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Sara Bareilles, Norah Jones and Adele, Kimberly has developed her own, authentic pop/soul sound. Kimberly Knighton has also spent time in Nashville and released 3 studio records since her debut in 2011. Her next EP entitled "Worth the Weight" will release in August 2019. “Fade Away” is a heart-felt and soulful love ballad, the single comes equipped with Kimberly’s notable pop and contemporary soul fusion. Her angelic vocals weave the listener through a  retrospective look as her complicated love. The track “Fade Away” focuses on the struggles of losing yourself within a toxic relationship, regardless of what the heart feels. Although the subject matter is heavy, Kimberly Knighton keeps things light and groovy through her funky riffs, pummeling vocals, and catchy melodies. The rhythmic texture fuses brilliantly with her powerful, meaningful vocals. The empowering track is definitely being added to our playlists and we highly recommend you do the same! Don’t miss the brand new music video for “Fade Away”, out now. Check out “Fade Away” here and read more below in our exclusive interview with Kimberly Knighton. Hi Kimberly! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started as a singer/songwriter? I’ve been coming up with little ditties on the piano since I was about 8, but I first started seriously writing when I was 14. It was shortly after the events of 9/11 when I was inspired to write a song called “Patriot” which I later recorded on my first record. I’d always dabbled in piano, playing by ear, but I eventually taught myself after a few failed attempts at lessons. I remember spending hours in my basement after school writing and recording my songs in GarageBand. I knew I’d found something I would never give up. I decided to pursue singing and songwriting in college, then I did the Nashville thing for a while, playing out and writing. How do you draw inspiration from your various musical influences? My all-time favorite artists and songwriters definitely show up in my music. I love the classic style of songwriting like the Beatles, Carole King, and Billy Joel used to write. I try to bring out the essence of those types of songs: really simple ideas and melodies. I like using more jazz chords and most would say I have an old soul when it comes to my style. I feel like I mostly resonate with some of today’s singer/songwriters like Norah Jones and Sara Bareilles in this way. My voice is influenced by women like Whitney Houston and Celine Dion—the 90s powerhouses I grew up with. I love the fullness and power from Whitney and the dynamic, piercing sound of Celine. I also like to use the softer, breathier side of my voice and I would say that’s been strongly influenced by Norah Jones and Joy Williams. Tell us more about the lyrics in “Fade Away”! What emotions did you have to channel while creating this song? “Fade Away” was actually inspired by a friend of mine. She talked to me about feeling like she was losing a part of herself to be with her partner and how difficult that was to reconcile as a strong and independent woman. This really resonated with me, so I knew it was a song I needed to write. I was trying to channel the emotions surrounding resilience and bravery to hopefully inspire others to do what it takes to meet their needs and leave if they need to leave. What’s your favorite lyric in “Fade Away”? Why? My favorite lyric is in the chorus where it says “If keeping you means losing me, that’s someone I could never be...” This woman would rather leave her toxic situation than not be able to recognize herself, which, I think, is a very brave thing to do. What can your fans expect from your much anticipated EP “Worth The Weight”, this August? Worth the Weight is probably the most unique project I’ve ever done. It feels the most brave and exciting. It’s my strongest songwriting and my favorite production. I think because these songs are all coming from very recent and heartfelt experiences, I was able to really see myself in every song and put my all into it. The past couple years I’ve worked on discovering the tough and heavy parts of myself and these songs reflect how I’ve learned to deal with those. The record is about patience and love and fear and optimism and all of the things we feel in between. Really, it’s just about me figuring out how to finally function as an adult and manage my unruly brain, haha. I’ve called this project a “vulnerability hangover” and honestly, that feels like the most accurate description. I resonate the most with albums that are raw and honest, so that’s what I’m offering to my fans with this EP. Connect with Kimberly Knighton on social media www.instagram.com/kimberlyknightonmusic

  • Amsterdam Native Morris Roe Drops Contemporary Hit “Want To Know”

Born and raised in Amsterdam, new-wave pop artist Morris Roe  (Maurits van der Roest) has established his craft from the ground up. Looking to influences like Eric Clapton, “Tears In Heaven” both inspired and motivated Morris to be the artist he is today. The diversity of Amsterdam had a big influence on Morris as an artist. Morris discovered John Mayer, who can be seen as the main influence in his music. Mayer taught him how to be truly emotive through his songwriting. While writing songs, but not yet recording them, Morris came in contact with his neighbor and longtime friend Laszlo. Their shared interest in Post Malone was the start of a couple of projects together and the eventual realization of Morris’ first E.P. “Want To Know” is a delicious fusion of light pop-rock and indie chill vibes. Morris Roe has an inviting and warm vocal register that sets him apart in the music industry. A healthy mix of John Mayer and Post Malone, Morris create relatable and light-hearted tracks.  The soul that exudes from a track like “Want To Know” is the type of soul that needs to be seen in person. I would love to be in a crowd at a Morris Roe show just escaping my mind and losing myself to the psychedelic and inspiring sounds he creates. With quirky melodies and catchy grooves, Morris Roe is the one to watch! I highly recommend you check out his new single “Want To Know” and stay on the lookout for Morris Roe and his future endeavors. Check out “Want To Know” here and keep scrolling for more with Morris Roe! Welcome to BuzzMusic Morris Roe! We love your sound. Can you tell us more about your upbringing into music? How did you get started? My dad always put on music in the house when I was young so I was kinda raised with music all around me most of the time. Then when I was nine my school teacher once brought her electric guitar to class and let everybody play on it. From that moment I knew I wanted to learn how to play the guitar and take guitar lessons. It wasn't until I was fifteen and my dad put up a song from John Mayer of his album heavier things that I got interested in writing songs of my own. Since then I've been writing and playing for almost everyday when I got the time. How do you feed your passion for music everyday? Well, I am born and raised in Amsterdam and we use our bicycles a lot to get from one place to another. While biking through the city I always listen to music, it's an essential haha. Besides that I always play some guitar when I come home after a long day. It's like a stress relieve mechanism, I have to make music everyday. Maybe because my dad always used to put on music I cannot live without having music around me. Your song “Want To Know” is amazing! We love the lyrics and melody. What inspired this song? First of all thank you! The chords of the song were inspired by a simple exercise I got from my guitar teacher. After that I had some ideas with it in my head and with my long time friend and neighbor Laszlo being an exceptional producer we got to make the whole body of the song. The lyrics are a different story though; for a year and a half I just couldn't find the right lyrics and melodies that would fit this song. It wasn't until I took a look through some notes on my phone and I found a short piece I wrote down for myself when I was in kind of a dark place. It was about that I am not that good at noticing and accepting it when good things happen around me. I get kinda anxious when that happens and that's why I called it want to know; I want to know how to chill out when that stuff happens haha. Within 20 minutes I had the melody and lyrics for the first verse and pre chorus. Like sometimes it just comes to you in an instant and you exactly which way to go with a song. That was what happend with want to know. What’s your favorite part of the song, lyrically or sonically? For me one of the best parts of the song is the last line of the pre chorus that takes you into the chorus itself: "I'm not the one not to give a f*ck". Like first of all that line describes me in one of the best ways I can imagine, I always care about everything while that's not always necessarily the best thing to do. Plus it kinda is a thinker because you got the double negative in it. I always try to incorporate some kind of ambiguity in my work, so that if you listen closely you'll find things you wouldn't initially notice. What I also love about this part is that the melody of the lyrics slow down while the instrumentals is catching more momentum to built up into the chorus. What’s next for you? Of course I got some other songs left in the vault. The plan is to eventually release an E.P. but there's still work to be done and maybe some will need to be cut off this one to maybe make it on an other project. Either way while this is my first release I'm not going to leave it with only this song. I love to make music and want to become an inspiration for others.
