  • Lauren Hall Drops BRAND NEW Track “Rainy Day In The City”

Transcendent and eclectic artist Lauren Hall originally from Chicago is here to change to pop music scene. After college, Lauren realized her true musical passion and packed up her life and moved to LA. She performed at various venues doing covers, including a performance with the notable Jodi Mash, but soon decided to record her debut track. Her soulful lyricism and strong piano skill set are sure to have her rising to the top. Lauren Hall’s launch into the music industry is off to an incredible start with her new debut single out and a debut EP on the way later this year. Released today, the new and debut single from Lauren Hall, “Rainy Day In The City”. The upbeat pop hit is sure to cheer anyone up on a rainy day. Lauren’s voice echoes through the speakers and her effortless talent is immediately evident. Her lyricism boasts years of experience as “Rainy Day In The City” takes you through a journey of the ups and downs of heartbreak. The powerful ballad is a song to dance or cry to, or both.. depending how heartbroken you are. Lauren belts out, “I’m sick of the games, I’m tired of the pain” as if an incredible realization that when heartbreak strikes it doesn’t mean we’ll feel that way forever. The toe-tapping track “Rainy Day In The City” is ironically danceable and upbeat while Lauren sings about being hurt and in pain and locking her heart up, but it works! Stay on the lookout for more explosive new music from the talented and brilliant, Lauren Hall. Listen to “Rainy Day In The City” here and get to know more about Lauren Hall below! Hi Lauren! Your voice is amazing, what age did you begin singing? Hi! Thank you so, so much! You know, I get asked this question all the time, but I’ve got to admit that I have no idea. What I can tell you is that I don’t remember a time where I wasn’t singing. I grew up with 2 wonderful parents who always had a deep love and appreciation for all different types of music. No matter what situation, music was always playing in the background. I distinctly remember being in the passengers seat of our car while my dad would take one extra lap around the neighborhood just to listen to his favorite tunes and sing them with me. I was about 12 years old, however, when I realized that my voice wasn’t just like everyone else’s; that it was special. On a whim, I auditioned for the middle school musical, and after my first performance on stage, I was immediately addicted to the feeling of singing for others. From then on, singing became my true passion. For someone who has never seen you perform, what’s your live perform/stage presence like? Sassy, confident, energetic, soulful, and full of surprises! I like to have a healthy mix of ballads, soulful, and upbeat songs to my sets. One song will make you cry and the next will make you want to get up and dance! I love including covers of classics that everyone knows like “At Last” or “Hotel California”, but with a soulful “LaurenHall” twist to it. I also really enjoy surprising people by throwing in songs of completely different genre’s and making them my own. I always make a point to connect with the audience and my fans in any way possible during my sets whether that’s during my set or in between songs. I’m always joking around; I never take myself too seriously. You never quite know what I’m going to say on stage, but that’s what makes it exciting :) Who is your all time biggest musical influence? Why? I’d say that I have 2: Alicia Keys and Adele. Growing up, I idolized Alicia Keys. I was always in awe of her ability to sit at the piano, belt out a ballad or an upbeat pop song, and captivate an audience. She sings with so much soul, and that’s something I’ve always looked up to. When Adele came into the scene, there weren’t many alto powerhouse female vocalists in the music industry. It was like a breath of fresh air. I admire how she can step on a stage with nothing but a microphone and take the audience on a journey. Her vocals aren’t always perfect, but she never fails to pour her heart out when she sings. That’s what I aspire to do every single time I step on stage. We love your debut single “Rainy Day In The City”! Can you talk more about the meaning behind the lyrics? What’s your favorite lyric? Thank you! I love it too! Rainy Day in the City is about being in a relationship with someone who is half in-half out; someone who has led you on, but can’t commit and/or doesn’t know what he or she wants. I feel like this is something a lot of people can relate to. Now, although this is a sad, tough topic, this song is not necessarily sad. Yes, relationships like this are hard, but I want all my listeners and fans to know that they CAN and WILL get through situations like this. It is ok to feel; it’s ok to cry it out in your room! But, once you’re done crying, you’ve got to pick yourself back up, know your worth and what you deserve, and move on to bigger and better things! When can we expect your debut EP? I’m aiming for December of 2019. I definitely want to take my time and make sure I don’t rush things, but I feel confident that 2019 will be a very exciting year so make sure to keep following my journey! • King Cotz Drops Dope Track “Doomsday”

Coming to us from Richmond, VA, King Cotz is a 23 year independent rapper, lyricist and hip-hop artist. King Cotz has been writing songs since he was 10 years old. He’s known for his flawless bars and smooth upbeat flow. King Cotz graduated from Virginia Tech in 2018 and has extensive business, marketing, and entrepreneurship experience. “Doomsday” is an insane new track from King Cotz. His rap ability is incomparable! I’m blasting this track on repeat so I don’t miss one word of it. I don’t know how he has any time to breathe between every bar that he spits absolutely flawlessly and effortlessly. The precision and timing of every word is incredible. The heavy backbeat is addicting and catchy. “Doomsday today, you will know my name” is a great lyric throughout the chorus. King Cotz’ exudes confidence. He knows that he has a unique sound that needs to be spread in the music industry. His listeners and fans are instantly addicted to King Cotz’ sound. I love the ending of the track “Doomsday” when the beat fades out and it’s just King Cotz’ voice spitting bars to finished up this dope song. As if we needed anymore proof, he has to show us that he doesn't need a back beat to sound killer. There are big things coming for King Cotz in the future. Stay on the lookout for the prolific rhyme slinger, rap artist extraordinaire, King Cotz. Listen to "Doomsday" here and get to know more about King Cotz below! Welcome to BuzzMusic, can you start by introducing yourself to our readers? Hey what's up BuzzMusic, thank you for the welcome. My name is Carter and I'm a 23 year old rapper and hip-hop artist in Richmond, Virginia called King Cotz. I graduated from Virginia Tech last year with a Bachelor's degree in Communication Studies and a minor in Business. I've been writing songs since I was around 10 years old, but recently I've dedicated myself to consistently releasing new music and taking my brand to the next level. 2019 was the official start of a long path and long journey towards my full potential. Where did the stage name King Cotz come from? The "Cotz" is actually a combination of both my first and last names. I came up with "King Cotz" when I was younger and no other names I thought of ever worked better. Also, my friends came to know me as King Cotz, and it’s a very unique name – so I thought it was the perfect fit. The "King" part is also a reference to the neighborhood I grew up in. What’s inspired the lyrics in “Doomsday”? Doomsday is actually a very personal song, laced with double meanings and metaphors. It's about a personal event that happened in my life where I encountered my own "Doomsday." The other part of the meaning is about how underrated and underappreciated I've been throughout my music career. I knew that once I dropped this song it was doomsday for the hip-hop industry, because I'm now on the rise and ready to take over. What would be your dream collaboration? Why? That's a tough one. There are so many fantastic artists I look up to and have learned from. Personally, I would want a collaboration with NF. I first listened to NF when I heard his song "Notepad" - which is a song speaking directly to his songwriting notepad about all the tough times it got him through. That song really struck a personal tone with me as I can relate through my own songwriting and journey. If you write music, I strongly recommend giving that song and all of NF's music a listen. What's the rap scene like in Richmond, VA? Richmond, Virginia has a growing and emerging underground rap scene. It's not as nationally recognized as many other cities, but I think the potential is there for Richmond to really grow and become a staple for rap/hip-hop. Recently in 2019, Levar Stoney (Richmond's mayor) declared February 13th "Mad Skillz Day" to forever honor Richmond's rap pride and past. The rapper Mad Skillz really helped to put Richmond and Virginia on the national stage when he released his 1996 album, "From Where???" Richmond is a very historic city in general, and it's now known for the fantastic food, plentiful breweries, and artsy attractions. Richmond is also a top city for entrepreneurs and start-ups, which is something I've been involved in throughout the past couple of years. I plan to continue pushing forward Richmond's rap scene and help carve a better path for other RVA artists who have struggled to find the right exposure. With my past experience in songwriting, entrepreneurship, marketing, and sales, I would love to become a role model for both Richmond and Virginia. HOWELL, also known as Austin Howell is a rap artist from Denver, Colorado. HOWELL’s passion for music blossomed at a young age when he would listen to Linkin Park, Creed and 3 Doors down. His unique style and flow can be credited to the many musical influences he had growing up including Eminem, Nelly and Lil Flip. At the young age of 11, Austin lost his step-mom in a car accident, he used music as a way to cope with his powerful emotions during this time. HOWELL began performing live shows shortly after graduating high school and now has his music out on all major streaming platforms. His newest album titled “The White Wolf” is in the works. “Light Up” is HOWELL’s newest single and it’s a banger. The fusion of rock guitar riffs and backbeat with the hip-hop lyrics and delivery are ground breaking. The old school hip-hop sound is timeless. HOWELL is able to blend these genres together seamlessly, while pulling inspiration from his childhood influences. The female vocals, by Breana Marin, featured in the track give it a softer side and pull the emotion out of it. HOWELL recites bar after bar full of raw and meaningful energy. His power and emotion comes through the speakers as he takes us on a retrospective journey through his experiences. The storytelling aspect of “Light Up” keeps you honed in on every single word. After hearing about HOWELL’s struggles, my favorite lyric that HOWELL spits is “Don’t ever think you can’t change ‘cause it is possible”, this lyric perfectly concludes the overall theme of “Light Up”. HOWELL is a rap artist that you won't hear focusing on material things, he’d rather spend his time writing and performing about reality and life. • Jam Along To Tony Thanos’ Single “Midnight Sun”

From Haverhill, MA, Tony Thanos is here with a lush indie/rock sound. Self made and independent singer/songwriter, Tony has received an outpouring of love all over the United States and abroad for his phenomenal music. He strives to create music that listeners can relate to, but also jam out to. The rising new artist, Tony Thanos fuses these two goals perfectly. With a freshly released music video, “Midnight Sun” will have you addicted to Tony Thanos’ sound. His Indie/rock delivery is a unique and vivid take on the music scene. The meaningful lyrics and powerful message of “Midnight Sun” is inspiring. “I’m going crazy, don’t ask me why under the ‪midnight sun‬ awakens the worst nightmares” is my favorite lyric that Tony belts out. His creative lyricism and ability to paint a picture in your mind is admirable. Tony Thanos delivers a vocal range to die for. His steady and deliberate tone transport you through the musical journey of “Midnight Sun”. “Just for today, not yesterday” is another line that resonates with me. This lyric brilliantly concludes the indie/rock ballad. The music break at the very end of the track where we witness a killer acoustic guitar riff by Tony Thanos is my absolute favorite. He boasts his talent and skills throughout “Midnight Sun” and I highly recommend giving it a listen and checking out the music video! Check out “Midnight Sun” here and read more with Tony Thanos below! Hi Tony! Can you tell us more about your background and introduction into music growing up? My father has been my biggest influence, he showed me a cassette tape of Stevie Ray Vaughan and I was blown away. He played guitar and saxophone and showed  me a ton of good music and got me into the guitar. My mother also got me into music she played banjo and would jam all the time with my father. I got my first guitar around 12 years old, I still have an acoustic guitar my father gave me it’s an old 1980’s Sigma acoustic made by Martin. I write all my songs on it, it’s where it all begins. What is your song “Midnight Sun” about? What was the writing process like? Midnight Sun, is written in away that is open for interpretation. I like to write this way so other people can have their own personal feeling in a song. If I was to think what the song is about to me it would be a relationship of man, and woman that shows the struggles of real life and exceptions people leave on couples or relationships. It doesn’t necessarily mean a romantic relationship. When it’s all said and down to escape from it all is what really what can help a tough situation to get clarity. I wrote the song basically listening to some blues and jazz on Spotify. I tend to like to zone out, and let the some stream of consciousness in guitar playing, melody and lyrics just come. There is definitely a big Stone Temple Pilots influence throughout the record. What would be your dream collaboration? Why? I am fortunate to record with an amazing producer musician and engineer Doug Batchelder he’s the owner of The Den Studios of North Reading, MA. He helped out a lot of this record and has helped set my other band Lockjaw Smile with other great musicians. The next recording I’d like to collaborate with a female singer song writer that would be exciting to make some duet tunes in the style of the 60’s! When you’re not making music, what do you do? I have a great adult job haha. I work with consulting Food professionals in the healthcare world on industry standards and support. I have a lovely wife Lucy who’s is amazingly supportive of me and is ready to tour! And my son Nicolas who just tuned 2 and loves to play Drums Guitar and Piano he will be featured on my music video for my song “Social Sidewinder” Stay Tuned! What age did you begin performing? Right around 13 I played my first gig it was a battle of the bands very exciting. I don’t remember who one or anything but I do remember just wanting to turn the amp all the way up and floor it. What’s next for you in 2019? Currently I will be performing my solo record with some of the guys of my other band Lockjaw Smile. Later this year we will be recording new Lockjaw Smile tunes for a fall Tour. Follow up on Tony's musical journey via his socials: Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

  • Geoff Has Released A Hypnotic And Jazzy Track Titled “Now”

Los Angeles based songwriter Geoff uses his singing and songwriting abilities to blend jazz chords, extended vocal harmonies and DIY bedroom production. Down to earth track “Now” starts off with the powerful beats of a drum, followed by hypnotizing layers of vocals that send the listener into a trance. Geoff has a voice that fits with jazz extremely well, as it has a very smooth and sultry tone that entrances audiences -- it is a very distinct sense of sounding. I personally think that this song is bringing more modern turn of jazz to a growing genre that is such a huge basis of music. You get that very relaxed and exquisite feeling from listening to “Now” and the slow mix of guitars, drums and bass or that emotion packed energy which is often intended with jazz music. Geoff has used his talents with many instruments and vocal styles to create a song that is passionate and with style that has large remnants of the jazz era as well as airy vocal tones mixed with harmonies that almost mimic the horn section that can be found in jazz bands. I am thoroughly impressed at the level of skill this “DIY bedroom production” artist, Geoff, has and the focus that he has put into creating the unique blend of sounds in “Now”. If you are looking for a song that will relax you, and make you feel laid-back, then check out “Now” here! Keep scrolling for Geoff's exclusive interview. Hey Geoff! What a captivating sound! Can you tell us a bit more about yourself? Hey! Thank you! I’m from Los Angeles. I play a 7 string guitar, cause originally I was originally a bassist and missed the lower tones. Also cause Korn. A few years back, I was playing in a punk band called Nightmare Enterprises and the leader asked me to play chords in a way that included as many notes as possible. I still try to do that as much as I can, except now I use jazzier chords. Everything on the EP “It Never Feels Perfect” was performed, recorded, mixed and mastered by me in my home studio, except for a synth that I programmed. I don’t consider myself a professional at any of the things I did to make it, but I’m trying my best. Also I’ve been into Myers-Briggs typology since 2012, so the title spells out my type acrostically (is that the right word?). How did you first find your love for music and creating new sounds? Music was always around for me as a kid. I started playing very young, but nothing made me want to take music seriously until in 8th grade. I found Slipknot’s “Disasterpieces” on youtube and that became my holy grail. I bought a copy and its all beat up from overuse. Corey Taylor is so cathartic a vocalist. The entire band is absolutely insane. I want(ed) to be able to channel whatever the hell they’re tapped into. Especially from that “Iowa” record. At some point in high school and college, my tastes expanded a bit and now include mostly Hip Hop, Jazz, Rock, Neo Soul, Metal and Singer-Songwriters so now my music references a ton of things. What is the meaning behind “Now”? I’ve always had a temper. I don’t know if it shows or not, but I’m terrified of it. As a teenager, I learned it was safest for everyone if I tried to swallow it. Right before the writing process, it became very clear to me that repressing my anger has permanently crippled some of my relationships and ended plenty of others. “Now” represents my recent commitment to myself: To teach myself to be myself without fear and to communicate my emotions healthily/effectively. The song has been serving as a mantra to me every time I play it. Its reminder of who I am capable of being when I don’t speak my mind. Are there any artist inspirations that help form your unique sound? Way too many.  I’ll pick 14 cause thats a weird number and this is a weird collection of artists. Glassjaw, Hiatus Kaiyote, Thundercat, Adult Jazz, Emery, Kadhja Bonet, Pinkly Smooth, Tyler The Creator, Moses Sumney, Tool, Elliott Smith, Esperanza Spalding, Rage Against The Machine and Mr. Bungle. Can we expect anything new from you in 2019? Yes, definitely. I’m working on new songs already. I have no idea when/if they’ll be out, but I’m pretty sure I’ll release something soon. My fellow musician Maello and I are trying to form some sort of collective. It seems like everyone we look up to is able to keep afloat completely off of their art because of the tight knit community they participate in. Make sure you check out Geoff on his socials in order to stay up to date with latest releases: Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

He had our attention intact the entire record from start to finish. “Let Me See You Twerk” is a hit without any doubt, and we’re excited to see what’s next from Miguel A. Raphael. Listen to “Let Me See You Twerk” here and get to know more about Miguel A. Raphael below! Hello Miguel! Do you have any special musical influences for your hard-hitting, and energetic style? Hello!  yes, guys like 50 cent, Eminem, DMX and Gucci Mane Tell us about your record “Let Me See You Twerk”, what was the vision you had in mind for this? I had no vision in mind at the time when I wrote this song. I actually wrote the song when I was incarcerated, 7 months later when I got out a friend sent me the beat and I knew this was the right beat for it. In what ways has your background and influences were included in “Let Me See You Twerk”? As a kid I used to snuck out the house to go to this teen night club and my first time there I saw how girls were shaking their butts I couldn't believe it. My goal is to make music that people can shake their asses to. What’s the most challenging aspect of being an independent artist? Getting people to listen to your song on the radio like the majors do. What’s next for you Miguel? What's next for me is to keep making noise and get more people to listen to my music. • Charles Caldwell Is Making Waves With His RnB Hit “Tell Me How"

Charles Caldwell began his career as one of the highest-paid child models which unfortunately came to a crashing halt at the age of 6 years old. During this time of his life, Charles Caldwell suffered from a third-degree burn over 85% percent of his body which shattered his dreams at a young age. However, his craving for self-expression and creativity was so strong that his passion for music emerged from its hiding-place. There is no doubt music is Charles “C.P.” Caldwell’s salvation. It has been woven into the fabric of his life-enhancing, lifting, and giving him purpose but most importantly enabling him to give voice to experiences we all can share. Charles Caldwell released his single titled “Tell Me How”. “Tell me how” bridges the gap between classic RnB and contemporary. The classic RnB elements are shown with the timeless appeal “Tell me how” has. Like all of our favorite RnB records, “Tell Me How” is one of those songs where if you played it 10 years from now, instant nostalgia will run over your body, and you will still feel the same chills and emotions you felt from when you first heard the song. The contemporary element? Well, it’s the vibe! Many rnb songs nowadays have a way of creating that right vibe for its listener, and getting us into the appropriate mood, and mental setting the song creates for us, just like “Tell Me How”. Lastly, “Tell me how” sticks to the root of rnb with the sensual energy surrounding the soulful approach and smooth-toned vocals. “Tell me how” is no doubt in mind, a hit song. Listen to "Tell Me How" here and get to know more about Charles Caldwell below! Hey Charles! Can you tell us a bit about yourself? Well I’m a signed Bronx native singer/songwriter who has won awards, runs his own indie label aside his partner/brother, deacon, and label artist for Touch Music Group In what ways have the incident from when you were 6 years old, served as a positive lesson for your career today? To leave nothing to chance and go hard at all times. When you almost die, it changes your mindset from being scared to being fearless and understanding your not in control of what happens. So I do my music, my way and my way only but adapting the new trends Tell us about your music! What’s the theme behind most of your songs? I’m all about love, happiness, and truth. I make sure that everything I write or sing is based off truth so it can be very relatable. I believe that’s the best way to grab the ear of your audience; they know when your being authentic. Did you have any inspirations for “Tell Me How” that encouraged you to write this? Real life situations I’ve been in when I’ve gone out to the club in the past. Sometimes you just wanna have fun and sometimes you wanna be serious as far as hookups are concerned so I put it in the song. What were some challenges you faced in the creation of “Tell Me How” ? How did you overcome these obstacles! Honestly, I didn’t have any complications in the creation of the song. Now as far as the visual is concerned is another story but it just took some real thought on what I wanted to do for, so I just didn’t rush the process What’s next for you, Charles? More music, more visuals, and hopefully a tour in the near future through my deal with Touch Music Group. There will be a lot of C.P. on the scene this year and the following years until music is done with me Connect with Charles Caldwell on social media www.instagram.com/cp_caldwell www.twitter.com/ccaldwel1 www.facebook.com/iamooakcp
