Oliver Soerup and Stephen Weber is going through their very special and personal journey into Led Zeppelin’s song “Kashmir", with their song “Short Trip To Kashmir”. I think Oliver and Stephen did an amazing job paying homage to an iconic record while adding their own twist and spin to the song. There could be some challenges artists face when they attempt to cover a popular or well known song however, Oliver and Stephen executed their own idea of the tune flawlessly. “Short Trip To Kashmir” has a well-rounded and opulent aesthetic. The vocals are intricate, astonishing and abundantly soothing. They also released visuals alongside the song where they interpret the piece into their own elucidation. The animated production was pleasing for us to see and did a great job displaying their clarification of a legendary mix. The storytelling visuals and enthralling tune was a great combination and sprinkled the correct amount of uniqueness to a well-known hit that many people adore. Not only were they able to fabricate a remix that reflects off the thinking of themselves, they were able to make it appealing to listeners and viewers, keeping us attentive the entire time and allowing us to explore their journey with them. Agent07 is a talented artist currently located in Los Angeles. He was born in Nigeria and raised in Italy which gives him a world view of music. He is a musician that not only writes for others but also writes and performs all of his own music. I would call his sound, alternative rap which gives you some alternative sounds with a rap overlay. He also has a brand, which he founded and created, called Vinero. “Proceed With Caution” is one of those tracks that has an individual style and the production of the track is definitely done well. There is a strong key presence in the overall production work. The track is heavily layered with sounds from his 5 year old sister singing and talking throughout. Which I think gives the track a delicate yet impenetrable sound. Then as the song begins to close, it finishes hard with a gang of new sounds. Static Ryan is a UK based artist that has a sound of his own. This young artist starred in a 2 man band for 3 years before pursuing a solo career. He has produced and released work under his independence. It has been said that Static Ryan sounds reflect those of Lo-Fi Nirvana, which once you hear his latest track “NOSHO” you will see exactly why. Just when you think there isn’t any other blends, there’s Static Ryan! His sound is a blend of alternative rock, trap, and hip hop. As I relax to tune into this track, “NOSHO” by Static Ryan, I am immediately struck by the artwork for the cover. It sort of gives you an intro to what you are about to tune into. His branding is very static and trippy. The electric guitar in the background of this production is one you shouldn’t miss! It’s what bridges the all world's he has brought together. “NOSHO” gives you a full on rock show with the trippy trap tones blaring and the hip hop hi hats through and through! This track gives you a little taste of everything wrapped into one; leaving you wanting to hear more from this blended artist. Which is a club banger, dance record that i think many people will love! I instantly begin dancing the moment it came on due to the groovy beats and EDM flare I felt from it. “2019” really represents the celebration and fun entering a new year. It’s the perfect song to play at our new year celebrations, parties and commencements. I envision champagne, confetti, glamorous outfits and enticed people who are filled with charisma and excitement for the year that’s ahead of us. Junior is a pop singer from New Jersey who’s a sensational icon you need to keep a lookout for! “Whatever you’re going through, you know I'm coming too”, the release of Junior’s exquisite single “Love Is Gone” is a must hear bop. Junior has a suave and dynamic vocal resonance you will become addicted too. He vocally lifts the song up and takes it back down at specific moments in the song with help from a choir he hired to give the song a more explosive and impacting feeling. The choir singing in the background alongside Junior’s electric voice really helps you connect to the track on a significant level. The visuals released alongside the song had many attentive moments where you can actually envision what the song talks about. The genuine love and companionship between two people, a relationship and a mutual understanding and support is something we can all relate too. Rather we’re in a relationship, or single, we’ve either been there, is there or is vying to be there in the future and it’s a strategic move pulled by junior. “Love Is Gone” has a high mainstream appeal and I can see many people enjoying the full on vibe he gave us!

Carrington is an alternative rock/punk band from Perth, Western Australia. They released an acoustic version of their single “Boronia” and we were completely serenaded by the captivating vocals and and chord progressing acoustics. I love listening to acoustic versions of up-beat music because it shows a different and more subdued side to the song that you may have not thought existed. Now, whenever I hear most songs I always think to myself “I wonder how this would sound acoustic?”. “Boronia” delivered a sensational feeling for me that I won’t easily forget! The harmonic melodies, especially in the hook was one of my personal favorite sections in the song. However, I can unquestionably say that I highly enjoyed how they kept their edgy rock grit in tact while still projecting so much emotion and passion. I don’t know about you, but I personally like listening to mood-changing music. In my eyes, it shows me that the artist is able to move you in a way some and most other artists may not be able to move you in. “Boronia” brings a nostalgic and dwell-some cloud over your mood and emotions- at least it did for me, but I loved that. I can add it to my playlists where I listen to sad music with the whole intent of becoming sad, like most people have this weird habit of doing. We are Carrington, a Punk-Rock/Alternative band from Perth Western Australia! How did Carrington form and meet? Emmett (vocals) and Zach (bass) had been in bands during high school, so they started the band and got our former drummer Jake into the frame. Chris (guitar) came along after searching some local musician forum pages on Facebook, and he knew Blake (guitar) so we got it as kind of a two for one deal. Jake left to live in Germany and so we got Jordan, who Emmett and Zach had known for a few years! How would you interpret “Boronia” from your artist perspective? Emmett: It's the first acoustic project we've ever done! I wrote Boronia while I was spending some time in my hometown with my family. I heard the news that my uncle was terminally ill and writing the music was my way to express how I and the people around me were feeling. The music came pretty well at the same time as the lyrics. It's musically in a style that is intended to be slow waltzed to, which was how I'd fantasized it being experienced…family members waltzing with their loved ones. Did you face any challenges creating this "Boronia"? Emmett: Honestly not really. I find it easy to write about something you feel deeply. The instrumentation is pretty basic, so it all came together in an afternoon! Maybe the only difficulty I found was writing lyrics that I could relate to, that other people can relate to also. Sadness can be pretty personal, I didn't want to throw blanket lyrics over it as I feel I always try to be genuine to myself firstly. How is the music scene in Australia? It's not too bad. There isn't really critical mass of population spread across the country, so it makes it hard for touring bands (especially in what we consider "our genre") to tour the country. Keeping this in mind there still are some great bands so it's not all bad! As far as our home town of Perth it's definitely got a great hardcore scene, but still developing in other areas. Any new year resolutions? Play some more shows, release a heap more music and hopefully gig in a few spots we haven't had the chance yet! Madelen’s Request is a folk rock group from Oslo, Norway. Inspired by the music of the 1960s, frontman Aleksander brought them together in late 2016! With several talented vocalists who take turns singing the lead and often gather in beautiful, true-to-tradition harmonies, the band’s sound is versatile yet clearly grounded in folk and Americana. The band released their single “Days Past” that touches in with every emotion and heart-rendering feeling in your body to fully soak up the lyricism and sound this band is projecting. With a modern approach to folk music, and lyrics conveyed with precision, “Days Past” is almost inevitable to become the all American hit of today! Around 4:35 is my favorite section of the song. If at this portion you don’t become immensely kidnapped into the song where you’re feeling every sensation from the heavenly sounding acoustics, melody, and chorus-like sound then you’re listening to “Days Past” the incorrect way! What’s your favorite part about working together and sharing the same passion and why!? We started playing together two years ago. Drummer Daniel and frontman Aleksander had got to know each other and were hanging out in Daniels studio. After a couple beers a track had been laid down. However, as Aleksander isn't the most amazing at bass and lead guitar, a couple weeks later Marius and Jonas were asked to join, as well as Aleksanders wife Ester. We recorded our first songs and put them out the next year.We absolutely love the journey of creating music. From conceiving the idea of a song until we receive the final mix and then sharing it with the world. We've always paid a lot of attention to detail in our music. Like discussing whether to use the word "in" or "on" in a lyric or spending the extra time to really tweak the perfect sound for the guitar. It can seem a little obsessive, but it's rather a positive energy for us. Madelen’s Request, you guys did an amazing job displaying emotion. How Important do you guys think “connecting with your song” should be to an artist? Thank you! There is no point in creating something if it doesn't connect with anybody. So we try to only go with ideas that we feel a connection with ourselves. Not all of our songs are necessarily autobiographical, but they do have some root or emotion that we recognize in ourselves. I think people can sense that. And people want to hear stuff that shows humanity. I felt a sense of relaxation listening to your new song. Are songs like “Days Past” usually your norm in creating music? Or do you guys like to switch things up? We definitely switch things up! Our previous single "While I'm Young" is very different from "Days Past". It's a lively celebration of youth, but with some almost satirical undertones and a fiery guitar solo.But we always put a lot of thought into our lyrics, so we are always looking to create some kind of space for reflection. Our music is meant to be listened too, and not be background noise to create hype. How would you guys interpret “Days Past” ? It came out a conversation about old people, and how it must be to live at that stage in life. Jonas wrote it in a few short hours a couple days later. It's about people Jonas has lost, but he only realized that after playing the song to his mother and she immediately recognized family members. So it is in part a work of the subconscious. Most of us will get to a point in our lives where we stop thinking about the future and instead remember the days past. That's what this song is about. Trying to see life from that perspective. What’s so special about folk music in your opinion? Folk music is sort of natural music. Especially American folk music (which is a mix of European and African) really resonates with something deep inside of us. And lyrically there is so much to draw from in imagery and themes. Folk music has always been close to peoples lives, and we hope to continue that tradition. Jasper's Riddle is an "acoustic storybook" by composer and multi-instrumentalist L. S. Zeickner. The project began in 2012 and is centred on storytelling through music and art. Jasper’s riddle released his single “The River”, A progressed and cinematic sound that will give you the chills! “The River” begins with an acoustic melody with an atypical and idiosyncratic nature to the tune. While the augmented chords from the acoustic guitar develops, Jasper Riddle’s chilling and hauntingly beautiful raspy vocals transitions in. His voice is smooth-sailing however it has dark grit and deep dynamics. Jasper takes us by surprise as he showcases his ability to transition into your high falsetto notes. He transitions up and down his register so smoothly without a sense of struggle it makes it seem like singing is just second nature to him. His voice reminds me of how artists like Daniel Caesar and Brent Faiyaz vocals translates across their music. My name's Lukas Shinjiro Osarobo Zeickner, but I go by L. S. Zeickner for short. How did you form the name “Jasper’s Riddle” ? any inspiration behind it? Jasper's Riddle was the name of a novel I started writing a couple of years ago. At the time I wasn't in a position to finish writing it so I decided I would incorporate the story into my music as a series of individual short stories. Over time the project evolved into a multi-layered "storybook", with each song acting as both a standalone story and as part of a larger interlocking tale- featuring a series of accompanying artwork and visual clues in my videos. Your voice is INCREDIBLE. Have you ever had any vocal training or has it always been second nature to you? Thank you so much for saying so! I haven't had vocal training but my mum is a singer who always encouraged both me and my brother Harry to sing as kids. I grew up listening to a lot of alternative rock and metal music thanks to my brother, and other genres like country, RnB and Nigerian jazz thanks to my mom. I also loved musicals (still do)- The sound of music, the old Disney movies.. When I was 14 I was listening to a lot of operas as well, so I guess I just picked up different ways of singing. Do you aim to create stories within all your music? Yes- I enjoy this multi-faceted aspect of Jasper's Riddle because people can enjoy the music, the stories and the paintings together or separately. And they never know what to expect next. Some of my stories are very literal, like 'Thunderbird'. The River is a more complicated story because it deals with themes that are a bit darker and harder to talk about. There are themes surrounding depression, and isolation and faith in God. Its a song that means a lot to me because it's the first song I ever talked about that stuff. The song is actually dedicated to Jeff Buckley- I remember reading about how he died, that he'd drowned in a river accidentally. I just sat there and felt this thing in my chest, and I knew the song was about him. I wrote it 3 years before I knew anything about how he died. What advice would you have for other upcoming indie artists? Always stay true to your art and remember why you started writing. When people first start to listen to your music, something scary can happen - it's exciting and humbling, but at the same time it can be intimidating to feel like you have new expectations to live up to. You have to remember it's all in your head - people are listening to you because they liked who you were to begin with. Kalen Blanco released “Tonight” a vibe song we can add to all our groovy playlists where it sets the aesthetic of memorable moments between you and someone special. “Are we gonna have fun tonight tonight tonight?, are we gonna get drunk tonight tonight tonight?” Kalen sings as he evokes the charismatic lyricism in a soulful and delicately sensual manner. Kalen Blanco has a voice made of silk. The video released alongside the song was impressive. In the beginning the characters seemed to be on a more serious, professionalism note. About 2 years ago, I started writing  and singing random lyrics to youtube video beats, but realized that my writing was awful. I knew that if I wanted to be an music artist, I was going to have to learn and practice, so I did. Since moving to LA, i’ve had so much more inspiration to learn about the music industry and figuring out who I am as a pop singer/songwriter and have realized that music will forever be apart of my journey from here on out. How has Los Angeles been treating you so far? Pretty well! Other than rent and the traffic, I honestly have no complaints and I’m excited to experience more of what all LA has to offer! I noticed in “Tonight” you honed in on your bisexuality in a fun way by the usage of wigs! Do you think your individuality is going to create a big impact for your career? Yes, I do believe that my individuality will create a big impact! Though, I won’t always have a wig on, since I mainly used it to sell the fantasy of the late Whitney Houston. I’ve chosen to showcase my bisexuality by not using any pronouns in “Tonight”, or any of my upcoming work, it can be sang to any gender! Specifically with “Tonight”, I wanted to showcase the loose and free interaction between the male and female dancer and myself! Is it difficult for the LGBTQ community in music to be recognized? I would say yes, but I believe that LGBTQ artist are making their way to the forefront of the music industry. As the visibility increases of LGBTQ artist, I believe we will continue to become more recognized. I can definitely see more POC LGBTQ artist coming out, like myself, and I couldn’t be more happy about that because even witching a specific community, visibility is key!! In your artist perspective, how would you interpret “Tonight” ? I would interpret “Tonight” as a coming of age, sexuality, and confidence song. “Tonight” is about owning everything that encompasses who you are, being confident and having fun with it! If you can collaborate with ANY artist of your choice, who would you select and why? There’s so many I could choose from like Brandy Norwood, Ariana Grande, or even Katy Perry, but I would love to collaborate with Troye Sivan. His presence in the music world, has inspired so many people in the LGBTQ community to love who they love and feel free to share it unapologetically, which is what pushed me more to write my upcoming EP that will be out February 1st, 2019! Church Pants is the indie solo project of Isaac Forde, born and raised in the South Jersey/Philadelphia area. He was influenced by the grunge/rock alternative era of the 90’s and the indie rock revival of the 00’s which motivated him to sit in his basement and fabricate a song that he’d like to listen to himself. The lively instrumentation and high energy of Bloc Party, The Strokes, and The Killers have inspired Isaac to make music teeming with bright guitars and danceable grooves. Church Pants released their long-awaited EP titled “Tired, but Happy” the jam packed track list contained with mixed emotional singles and flaming guitar chords will have you stunned! The first song that plays on this EP is titled “Exhausted”. “Exhausted” Instantly begins with a fast paced guitar and drum combination rhythm setting you become attracted to by immediately hearing. The lyrics seems to have a sense of nostalgic emotions while projecting his sentiments in a charismatic and energetic manner. It was a great opener for the EP. The next single that transitions in is called “Bad Cop/Bad Cop” has the same energy “Exhausted” had, however the tone of the song is more dwellsome and less light-hearted. The hasty single shows off their capability of switching from the usual outgoing sounds and tunes and transitioning into something more serious. After “Bad Cop/ Bad Cop” settles out, my personal favorite track on this EP “Croft” comes in. “Croft” was completely different than the other songs off this EP. “Croft” was way more soft and mellow compared to the other up tempo and highly energetic tracks on the EP. the guitar chords were more melodic and canorous, showing us a side of Church Pants that was greatly appreciated and accurately timed in the correct chronological order of the EP. After “Croft”, “Longest Winter” comes in with this sense of contentment. Not too upbeat, not too slow, just perfectly in the middle while Church Pants continues to deliver their usual sense of passionate projection. The closing track , “Hold Me Closer” really showed us the diversity Church Pants is equipped with. The delightful tune starts off with this folk sound bringing warmth melodies and a sense of home in the ending of the EP. Church Pants vocals on this track felt more genuine and sentimental and it’s why I loved it. The vocalist has a real powerful and dynamic voice resonance with significant amount of rasp and I’m glad we were able to really hear that talent against a backtrack instrumental that wasn’t too detailed. I tried to think of the most non serious name possible. Growing up, everyone’s parents buys them school clothes or Sunday outfits. I was always getting grass stains on what my mom and I called“ church pants” which I later learned everyone just calls  “khakis”.  As much as I like my list of band name ideas, Church Pants just seemed funny to me and not too serious. What attracted you most to the grunge rock era of the 90’s and 00’s? My dad actually played a lot of 90s music growing up. When I started listening to music on the Internet, I realized a lot of stuff I liked was because those albums were already on in my house. I started learning how to play songs by Foo Fighters, Sound Garden , Weezer but I really got into guitar when I heard Bloc Party. They were featured in video game soundtrack and when I heard it I thought “I want to make music like this.” It was fast, phrenetic and it was the first time I heard guitar with such life. What was the result of your first project? This is my first release In 3 adjectives how would you describe your EP “Tired, But Happy” ? Energetic, Bright, and self-reflective What inspired you to name the EP? The songs of the EP surround the past 4 years of my life, with the exception of “Bad Cop/Bad Cop”- that was just for fun. I worked long hours at a brutal entry level job, would come home, sleep 4 hours, then do it again. I was always desperate to spend time with family and friends but rarely had the energy that they deserved, but those were still some of the best times. Relatives would ask my mom how I was doing and she would often just say “he’s real tired, but he’s happy”. This EP is meant to reflect the feeling of being tugged in different directions. Which songs off “Tired, But Happy” from your artist perspective you believe is the most impactful? That’s tough. Each one is pretty unique in its theme. I think Exhausted musically displays my character and energy the most. However Croft might impact people most for its tenderness and joy despite dwelling on losing someone. It’s less informative and more of a window into the mixed emotions with letting go. Were there any challenges you’ve faced during the creation of “Tired, But Happy” I think having confidence that I was making something people would listen to is a challenge in itself. I’ve only played these songs in my basement before this so it feels particularly revealing. Also I didn’t have a working bass guitar for half the project. And my guitar strap broke, dropping the guitar and smashed the input jack. You know, first EP stuff.
