- What Was Old Is New Again With The Squeaks New Release “Black Eyes”
Alright, Alright, Alright-. The Squeaks are rocking on their new tune “Black Eyes”. The Squeaks would fit in splendidly with the 70s rock alum; with their rough guitar riffs similar to Rick Derringer’s, pounding drums that would give Foghat a run for their money and catchy lyrical stylings, the Squeaks are bringing that 70s sound to 2019. You can literally transport yourself into a music hall, rolling smoke rising up to the ceiling, the heat of fellow fans surrounding the stage banging their heads to the beat; this feel good music will keep you on your feet wanting more. Hailing from Kansas City, Missouri these rockers come from the same city as rock n roll founders Big Joe Turner and Chuck Berry, and the rock n roll sound is certainly not lost on these guys. If you’re looking to be transported back to one of themost rocking eras, stream “Black Eyes” today. Listen to "Black Eyes" here and catch up with the band below in our exclusive interview! Nice to chat with you all! Thank you for taking the time to talk about your new single “Black Eyes”. To start could you tell us a bit about the band and how long you’ve been playing together? Yeah, thanks for chatting with us! So Dietrich Schalk and I got this cool idea to form a band about three years ago when we were in high school, but we had no clue where to start. So finally after we graduated we said were going to give it a shot and have been playing ever since. And yeah, our line up is basically Dietrich and I on rhythm and lead guitar and we switch off who sings lead just depending on who wrote it. Dietrichs brother Caleb is our insane pianist, but other than that we have had quite a few line up changes since we started. What does the creative process look like for the band? How do the songs come together? So Dietrich and I write the lyrics and our guitar parts, and basically we just get together for practice or whatever, and just jam on it for a little while till we all figure out our own parts for it and use those as base lines when we play it in the future. I know sometimes when I write a song I kinda have different ideas in my head about different parts or melodies someone else can do, but yeah it's pretty free and spontaneous. Listening to “Black Eyes” the classic rock n roll era really bleads through. Who are you musical influences? That's actually kinda funny that you say that, because neither one of us really like classic rock. Dietrich wrote the song pretty early on and we just both really like it. But on the influences, this song specifically, we both kinda agreed it sounded more like the Black Keys, but it was also recorded in a shed so it has a bit of rawness to it. So yeah I gave away a big one. The Black Keys are huge to us, especially Dan Auerbach. And of course the basics The Beetles, Nirvana, The Strokes all those guys. Lyrically I am influenced tremendously by Kurt Cobain. Just the way he could craft a beautiful headbanging song, but still have deep meaningful lyrics with a very catchy melody is legendary to say the least. And that's what I strive for, personally, is making a different or unpopular style song but still having a good hook to keep it replaying in people's heads all day. Who would you love to collaborate with or head out on tour with? Honestly anyone. But for real, Jack White, Dan Auerbach, Peach Pit, Albert Hammond Jr, David Grohl, Mac DeMarco. Play with or opening for any of those guys would absolutely be a dream come true. Like, life goal accomplished kinda dream come true. What are you most looking forward to this year? Getting our music out and playing shows. Were pretty fresh and still have a lot to learn but that's the fun part. We're ready for a lot of growing pains but hopefully get a lot of progress out of it. Thanks so much talking with us! Connect with The Squeaks on social media: www.facebook.com/theSqueaksBand
- 16 Year Old Ruggo Blows Our Minds
Ruggo (a.k.a. Ryan Sheerer) is a 16 year old artist from Sylmar, California. Ruggo began rapping at the age of 13 and began performing at the age of 14. He has opened for artists such as B-Real of Cypress Hill, Snoop Dogg, Too Short, WC and SugaFree, to name a few. He has released his debut album in August 2018 titled “Growing Pains”, which featured artists such as GIJoe_OMG, Glasses Malone, PacMan da GunMan and McKinley Ave. The album had production credits from SpaceNTime, Mike Kalombo and ThaRuGGRat. He has just released an EP called “Written in the Stars”, and his music features a message of overcoming obstacles and positivity. “Feenin” is a single from Ruggo’s EP titled “Written in the Stars”. The beats are instantly catchy with an unmistakable trap feel. The pacing of the song is fantastic, complete with thoughtful lyricism from this young artist, and the tasteful qualities of a beat that weaves in and out as necessary. The lyrics themselves shine through with a sense of intent, honesty and emotion. Each chorus is dripping with the quality only a catchy hook can bring, and the overall arrangement of the song shows a restraint, taste and expertise one would not usually expect from an artist who is only 16 years of age. We highly recommend you check out “Feenin” and the rest of the tracks Ruggo has to offer! Listen to "Feenin" here and catch up with the latest from Ruggo in our interview below! Thanks for catching up with us! Would you describe a bit about your background and how you got into music, production, songwriting, etc? My background in music has always been something that’s stuck with me since birth. I grew up listening and being influenced by a lot of the music my father was listening to at the time, so i always had a love for it. As far as the craft goes, I feel that the creativity has always been in me, and it was just time to let it out. So around the age of 12 i started writing raps to beats i would find online, and from there it progressively turn into something more serious. Who would you describe as your biggest artistic influences? My biggest artistic influences as of this moment would have to be Saba, Nipsey Hussle, J. Cole, and a lot of artists like these who put time into their craft. I’ve always respected music for the quality put into it, and so seeing these artists doing it made me want to do the same with my own twist on it. It’s hard to believe that you’re only 16 years of age! Did you really only start rapping a few years ago, or do you feel that music is always something that has come naturally to you? Ever since a kid I had an ear for music. The first time I was ever recorded and put into a song was when I was 3 years old. But since then, music started becoming a big passion of mine around the age of 12, which is when I knew i had something in me that had to be shown. You’ve collaborated a great deal with other producers and artists. Do you find that working with others can help to stimulate your own ideas and creativity? I really enjoy collaborating with other artists because there’s always something to learn and incorporate into your own style. Creativity isn’t something that’s necessarily unique to one specific person, but everyone has their different sounds and likings of certain styles. So it all goes back and forth between other producers and artists. What can we hope to see from you in the future? As of right now, I’m focusing on a record that will showcase the true essence of what makes me. I plan on taking as much time needed with this project to capture everything I can, so I can’t say when it’ll be coming out. But things are definitely in the works, and i’m excited to show the world what i have cooking. Instagram #BuzzMusic
- Bree Whitworth Wears Her Heart On Her Sleeve With "In The End"
Bree Whitworth is a Vancouver based artist who has been writing music for as long as she can remember. Her lyrics are narrative in that they tell a captivating story, capturing the minds and hearts of her listeners. After a 4 year break, she is back in the studio with producer Winston Hauschild recording an EP set to be released in Spring 2019. The first single from Whitworth’s forthcoming EP is called “In The End”, and this is a song that she has had in her back pocket for nearly a decade. The track begins with a simple arrangement of piano and vocals. Shortly thereafter, synths and acoustic guitar serve to complete the soundscape. Whitworth’s voice has a certain sensitivity behind it that you can really get lost in, but she also has a powerful delivery that will make you sit up and take notice. The arrangement is well paced, building up throughout the song and becoming stronger to a climax near the end of the song. The simplicity of the arrangement works very well in this case, allowing Whitworth’s vocals to shine through. “In The End” is a fantastic and emotional offering from this West-coast artist, and we highly recommend you check it out! Listen to "In The End" here and catch up with Bree below in our exclusive interview! Hey Bree, thanks for chatting with us! First of all, can you describe a bit about your background and how you first got involved with music? Thanks so much, it is my pleasure! I have been obsessed with music and writing songs from a very young age. At 5 years old, I was sneaking out of my room at night to put my favorite records on and sit in my rocking chair with my headphones listening to them for hours. I kept my talents under wraps for a long time as I had a real fear that they my music and voice were not good enough to be heard. I finally overcame that fear in my early 20s and have released 2 albums and 3 singles to-date (under various projects) and have had one of my songs featured on a television series as well. After writing some great new songs, I recently have gone back into the studio to start recording again! Who would you describe as your greatest musical influences? I am a sucker for a powerhouse woman belting out honest and heartfelt songs so a few names that jump to mind are artists like Stevie Nicks, Lissie, Sharon Van Etten, LP, Cat Power, Robyn, Sia, Ani DiFranco...I could go on as there are so many great female artists out there! What does your writing process usually look like? How do these songs come together? I can honestly say that I have to keep my phone with me 24/7 because melodies will often pop into my head at any given moment - I have even woken up numerous times singing a song from my dreams! Once I have a song that I think has potential, I get the structure down at the piano. I then bring my songs to my producer, Winston, and he really helps to refine them, develop the musicality and other instrumentation that transforms them into a finished product. The process working with him has been so seamless and I love the sound and quality of the tunes we have created together. Your new single, “In The End”, is a great song that you’ve had around for a while. What prompted you to release the song now as opposed to earlier? Was there a “marinating” process? "In the End" is a funny song as I have had the chorus written for years but I only started writing the verses as a reflection from a recent break up which wound up being a very therapeutic process. They were words that needed to be said despite the fact that he would never hear them from me personally...he'll just have to hear it on Spotify or the radio like everyone else lol! What can we hope to see from you in the near future, Bree? I am very excited to be finishing up my new EP entitled 'Love Lessons' that will be released in the next couple of months. Following that, I will be working on another (top secret) music project and getting out performing, possibly even touring very soon. Hey what's goin' on BuzzMUsic this is YoungSauce "DaGod" I am originally from Columbus, Ohio I been doing music for about 17 yrs. My music is what I like to call raw and edgy and smooth, it can be hard and other times it can mellow meaning I can cover many different vibes. How has your career changed since your time in Push Up Boyz? Notice any major differences as an solo artist opposed to group? I would say its a different game now compared to when I was in a group. Meaning its more digital and the internet is now the way music is being discovered and released. No more footwork or passing out CD's. I think its a lot harder as a solo artist just because now you have to write and perform a whole song by yourself. Before it would be just writing one verse to complete a song, but I enjoy it and I'm loving how it feels to be a solo artist because its my creativity and I can make the music I want without any input or disagreements. “Ride Wit Me" seems to have strong lyrical substance to it, what is this song about and what inspired you to write it? Yes "Ride wit me" is a basically a song about if your real and true and you remain the same then put your middle fingers up to the non believers or haters or the ones who are against you. I was inspired because it had a dope melody and the bass plus I was in the car when I first heard the record so that's why I named it ride wit me. In your personal opinion, what is your favorite element about your own record “Ride wit me”? Personally my favorite part of the song is the hook because its energetic and everyone can relate to it in some way. What are some challenges you face as an independent artist? Some challenges you face as a independent artist is that you have to do it all yourself meaning you pay for everything you have to promote your brand and have to create a buzz and get people to follow you and your movement. As to where a signed has the label doing all the work for you and the artist can focus on being a artist. What can we expect next from you? Next for me is the video for "Ride wit me" I will be shooting in the next few weeks I'm currently working on my debut EP titled Cookin' Up and continuing to grow my brand more music on the way. Once again thank you BuzzMusic for having me. Connect with YoungSauce Da God on social media: Twitter @YoungSauceDaGod Instagram @Youngsaucedagod #BuzzMusic
- Fall In Love With The Mustoes Latest "Twenty"
The Mustoes are a five piece alternative pop band from Birmingham, UK. This dynamic group, while conventional in lineup, has an electronic quality to their sound and has been compared to the likes of Billie Eilish and The 1975. They have worked closely with top producers at Miloco and the famous Abbey Road Studios in London. They have released a debut single, and are excited to announce the release of yet another single leading up to the release of their EP, “Take A Seat In Solidarity”. The Mustoes have a recently released single called “Twenty”. The song begins with soft synths and a woman leaving a voicemail thanking someone for last night, but adding “you should do us both a favor and just don’t call me again”. This sets the stage for a song that can at once make you happy and maybe remind you of a saddening romantic situation. The instrumentation combines old and new, with traditional rock instruments combining seamlessly with synths reminiscent of 80s pop music. The vocals too have an old-school quality that could belong to a band like The Smiths or The Cure. The band have absolutely nailed vibes both old and new, and each chorus is an absolute hook that will have you listening to this tune again and again. Listen to "Twenty" here and get to know the band below! Thanks for chatting with us! Could you start by explaining how you all met and formed this band? Joe Powell (vocals) and Ben Growcott (drums) have known each other for numerous years playing in former groups before meeting guitarist Gabe Strain through college. Dave Howarth (bass) was met through the use of social media whilst coincidently studying at the same university as Gabe. With the initial elements of a traditional band in place we then searched for a pianist/synth player to help encourage the electronic sound so desired. Through a mutual friend of Joes we discovered Tom Stephenson bringing the full sound of The Mustoes together. What is your writing process usually like? How do your songs come together? We tend not to stick to one particular way of writing however our ideas originate from synth and guitar melodies which we then build around. We’re constantly switching from a full band environment to an electronic setup where the initial structure is built upon. Before heading to arehearsal studio we spend time writing the tracks in Ben’s cottage and Tom’s Hovis bread barn. Your recent single “Twenty” has a lot going on in terms of production. Was it always a natural thing to combine more traditional sounds of rock with the more modern synth sounds? As we base our songs around the synth, the electronic sound comes naturally which is complemented by Ben’s hybrid drum setup, combining an acoustic kit with electronic samples. The equipment we use heavily affects our sound which can also be noted through the intentional auto-tune and vocal effects implemented on the track. As well as this we all take a variety of inspiration from grunge bands to highly-produced pop music. Despite ‘Twenty’ having a high production you can identify the more ‘rock’ based elements in theoutro of the track. What can we expect from The Mustoes in the future? In the run up to our debut EP “Take A Seat In Solidarity” we will be releasing our second single “My Attention” on 19/04/19. To help promote the EP we have booked in multiple main support shows in which we’ll perform our first headline show on the release date of “Take A Seat In Solidarity”. www.instagram.com/themustoes www.facebook.com/TheMustoes www.twitter.com/TheMustoes #BuzzMusic
- Missing Takes Debuts “Just Another”
Missing Takes is a band far from your typical and ordinary rock band. With thoughtful and diverse lyrics centred around uncertainty, inevitable change, relapsing and the relationships built up throughout our lifetimes, the band has direct influences from 90s rock artists (the Foo Fighters, Green Day, Muse, RHCP) stretching into the 2000s. Pretty cool right? Although they’re an independent band they’ve done significant international traveling and touring while building a solid fan base and developing a unique experience catered to their own style. Missing Takes released their single titled “Just Another” and this record is the quick-witted fun I needed for the night! The unique composition, arrangement, and lyrics caused me to be highly intrigued and engrossed by the song. “Just Another” begins with a sinuous introduction and muffled vocals that sounds like it’s being sung through a computer disc, right before their grandiose and striking vocals entertain its listeners. They have a progressive and well orchestrated merge of instruments while not missing a single drum beat or guitar riff! Something highly remarkable about “Just Another” is use of the cello. We’re used to the typical electric/acoustic/bass guitar, with drums, and a vocalist but what we aren’t typically use to is the introduction of non-traditional rock instruments, being used in a progressive sounding rock hit! The producer and mixer Bernard Barbosa brought out a more experimental, clear-cut sound without toning down either “punch” or pop appeal. If you’re in for a good visual, Missing Takes also released a video that can be found on YouTube to their single “Just Another” where the witty sarcasm is at its peak, leaving room for detailed interpretations. Listen to "Just Another" here. Hey there, can you introduce yourselves to our BuzzMusic readers! Hi there BuzzMusic readers, we're the Missing Takes, a indie-alternative-rock band from Porto Alegre, southern Brazil. We used to be 4, but now 5 guys who love making music, no matter what. We got different background, some have worked with pop music, some with hip hop, some with heavy metal, some with brazilian local rhythms, but all of us have got rock'n'roll in our DNA, although classic rock'n'roll is not our focus. We got direct influences from the 90`s and early 2000's indie/alternative rock, but we're constantly trying to improve ourselves and following new paths to build up something authentic, so we listen to all kind of music, specially when we're composing or recording new songs. Missing Takes is: Mateus Zuanazzi (vocal/guitar), Tito Lima (backing vocal/guitar), Pedro Mello (backing vocal/bass guitar), Rodrigo Messias (backing vocal/drums) and Pedro Chein (keyboards/samples). Although an independent band we toured California, played in Canada and won the Akademia Independent Music Award (Los Angeles) for best alternative rock EP with "Uneven Tides". Besides that we've also toured Brazil. We have four Ep's and are currently promoting the most recent "We Don't Have It", released on February, this year. Tell us about “Just Another” and what inspired you to write this? "Just Another" was the first single and music video released prior to "We Don't Have It". The single version is slightly different from the EP version. Although the single version is on the music video, we prefer the EP's version, because we like the mix and arrangement better. The song is a series of questions to someone who thinks is in control of everything. Although there isn't a defined character, I like to to picture the song as someone who's in a therapy session and at times is the shrink asking questions and other times it's the own person talking to his mind, or in other words, "just thinking". This song is a step towards different musical paths, as I said before, we got of the "bass-guitar-drums" line up and there's keyboards and even a cello. Did you find any challenges in creating “Just Another”? The challenge was having a really pop and catchy melody and building a song around it without getting like "pop-boring". What we did was keeping the pop melody, changing the key for the chorus then coming back, and at some point in the song, we decided that we should go a different direction, completely different from the rest of the song, and keep it until the end. This way we'd have a pop song but with "something else". In the video portion of “Just Another”, what vision did you want to get across to your viewers? The challenge was having a really pop and catchy melody and building a song around it without getting like "pop-boring". What we did was keeping the pop melody, changing the key for the chorus then coming back, and at some point in the song, we decided that we should go a different direction, completely different from the rest of the song, and keep it until the end. This way we'd have a pop song but with "something else". What can we expect next from Missing Takes? We're already working on new songs. This time we're writing in Portuguese, we see the scene growing again down here in Brazil. It's like "after the storm there's a rainbow". Well, maybe is rainbow time. But we won't be releasing many songs at once, like an album. Since we're an independent band and we're still trying to build up a consistent fan base, we'll just give some shots, releasing singles and music videos, and then analyze. Maybe we'll write in english again. I have many songs kept in my computer. We're also adapting to new times, so we have a new guy in the band, playing keyboard and "dee-jaying", we're bringing more clean-cut tones and less distortion to the songs. Without leaving the band's DNA, of course. #BuzzMusic
- Catch The Soulful New Hit From Grace Morgan "Restless"
Grace Morgan is a 22 year old singer and songwriter who is from California and is currently living in London. Grace Morgan has a sound that encompasses the lush melodies of pop and the soulful vibes of R&B. Grace Morgan takes some of her musical cues from the likes of Dua Lipa and Ariana Grande. “Restless” is the title-track from Morgan’s recently released EP, which is available on all streaming services. Beginning with the humble guitar followed by a sparse beat and the entry of vocals. Soon the beat picks up ever so slightly, the verse begins in earnest. For a song called “Restless”, the vibe created by the arrangement and simple instrumentation is actually quite contemplative and calming. The message itself seems to be that of pain, heartache and a fair amount of suffering, but this doesn’t diminish the power of the music in the slightest. Grace Morgan’s vocals are simple and pure, proving that even that in this age of production, there is no substitute for a good voice. “Restless” is a track that you’ll enjoy from a promising young artist! Listen to "Restless" from Grace Morgan here and be sure to add it to your favorite playlists! Hey Grace, thanks for catching up with us! First of all, would you mind describing your background and how you first got into music? Music and theatre have always been a big part of my life. My grandparents are musicians and my dad is a professional singer and used to dance with Joffrey ballet, and my mom used to be our costume designer! When I was little, I used to go up on stage and bow with my dad after a concert, and I also got to watch him perform in various operas in New York City. I definitely got my voice from him and whenever I go home I still get voice lessons from him! I attended Idyllwild Arts Academy in California and studied musical theatre, but after high school I found a love for songwriting and I’ve been writing ever since! Now I have moved to the UK and am working hard to balance my day job with my personal life and still have time to make music, but it’s definitely a fun challenge. Last year my song “Tainted” got played on BBC Introducing which was amazing, and I’m hoping to release more music later this year. Who would you describe as your biggest inspirations musically? One of my biggest music inspirations (other than my dad) is Sara Bareilles. I’ve loved her music for over a decade both on the radio, and on broadway! I’m also a big Gaga fan and can’t stop listening to the A Star Is Born album. I’m one of those annoying people that say “I love all genres,” but I actually mean it. My playlists have a mixture of pop, rap, jazz, opera, musical theatre, R&B, country, dubstep, acapella and everything in-between! What does your writing process generally look like? How do the songs all come together? I’d love to say that I have writing process, but I genuinely don’t have one. Sometimes I start with a melody, sometimes I play around with piano chords or a track that I like, and sometimes I write down a phrase or describe an emotion I’m experiencing and just go from there. I try not to overthink it because it ruins the fun! What’s next on the horizon for Grace Morgan? Right now, I’m just writing. Constantly looking for inspiration and writing. I’m hoping to have another album out by the end of this year so I’ve got a lot of work to do! New music is definitely coming your way so watch this space! - Kasey Rios Releases His Highly Anticipated Album “Tyre”
Kasey Rios is a total force the R&B/Hip Hop world! Originating from San Bernardino, California, Kasey Rios moved to Lebanon in 2000 where he began tp teach himself how to sing and write music at the age of six. In high school, Kasey met local Hip Hop and recording artist B.A.D and together they began collaborating and making hits. Their music was praised and recognized by locals and their peers for its clever use of western melody and political topics, usually circling issues of poverty, governmental neglect, loss and passion evident in their hometown. Kasey Rios has significant amount of music influences who helped curate his style ranging all the way from the oldies like Michael Jackson, 2pac, and Sade to the recent legends in their own way; Chris Brown, Will Smith etc. In 2016 Kasey Rios returned to California, moving to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music. Kasey graduated from the Musicians Institute in the Independent Artist Program and began to work on his first project. Kaseys' music incorporates elements of contemporary and classic R&B and Soul with a modern Hip Hop and Trap chassis, and ranges in subjects from love, loss, connection and his experiences from a different world. Kasey Rios released his new album titled “Tyre” and we listened to this amazing project and we were taken back with how passionate Kaseys' delivery fleshed out the melodies with a suave and smooth arrangement. Every track on “Tyre” warrants its place with the album. He gives you smooth, slowed down vibes including with his songs, “33.2705 N, 35.2038” and “Copy”. Both songs highlight the R&B aura surrounding “Tyre”, while conveying great emotion, alongside delivering us some up-tempo songs like “S.G.M.S” and “Your Itinerary”. Kasey Rios didn’t do it all on his own however. He shows the loyalty between B.A.D and Kasey runs deep as most of the songs on “Tyre” are a collaborative work of art. This is an indicator to me that the fused together styles of both artists and their natural friendship creates a project that’s overwhelmingly refreshing and magical! A song on "Tyre" that captured my attention the most was the song titled “Wave”. As a personal fan of R&B music, I know the sensation I feel from listening to certain love bops that make you think of a special someone. “Wave” sends the perfect shock through your body that will have you subconsciously remembering that special someone. The textured lyrics flow beautifully like a river with Kasey transporting vocals just floats like a duck on top of the smooth, silk like fluid beat. “Focus" is a song you need to listen to! It's a song that feels extremely raw, uncut and vulnerable. You become enticed by the intense passionate delivery and heart-rendering tone in Kasey’s vocals. The featured artists on this track are Geebz and of course, B.A.D. together they gave us a harmonic and poignant record. Expect the unexpected with this album because as soon as "I Told You” comes on you’re unpredictably stunned by the light dance-hall vibe it gives. From the “Layover” introduction, to the “Coast 2 Coast” appendix, “Tyre” is an all around incredible album. The combination of lo-fi love bops and enticing superb production makes for a strong album! Listen to the brand new album "Tyre" here and check out our exclusive interview with Kasey Rios below! Hi Kasey! We're so happy to have you back at BuzzMusic! Have you noticed any major differences between your early releases compared to your releases now? Yeah definitely, I would say they're more focused, honest. I think a part of me when I was younger stayed denying certain aspects of myself and my life which showed in my music, I feel now I am in a better place, a more centered place with my communication and acceptance at least, and it translates a lot better in my music. I guess it just grew up a bit. Tell us a quick overview about your album “Tyre” how would you personally describe this project? Tyre is the first installment in a couple more projects I am coming out with later in the year, it's the origin point of this little story I'm letting people in on, and it's really a mini biopic of Kasey Rios' more recent years. It discusses a few things ranging from where I come from, to leaving there and what it meant to me, the changes I've made since leaving and that leaks into other aspects like love, relationships, wants and needs, which are all present throughout Tyre. There are little clues and lead ups to where it ends up which is cool and fun to do as an artist. Its definitely a fun record to get into, stylistically its quite versatile so there's a little something for everyone, if narrative isn't your forte. Do you have any personal favorites off this album? If so which and why? Personally I love the record, obviously its my record not to sound conceited lol, but yeah a couple of them I do revere a little deeper than the rest and I think it's the records that are more specific and based off of direct events or feelings I hold close. So probably songs like "Focus", which was written as a message to and inspired by people I've met, or others that may be a little short on having faith because of certain loss or whatever they're going through that hurts them, its a shoulder I'm lending because I understand it too, and I'm there for you. Or "2AM", which is kind of an admittance of feelings for someone in your life and a step to let them know you're down for them but not in the high school "do you like me, check yes" kind of way no, it's more grown up. "Coast 2 Coast" is one as well, I love being in Malibu it really is a place I find myself able to heal in, and with this record I wanted to embody that for anyone listening that needs to find their own Malibu, and to heal. Some of these songs like “Focus” has strong emotional conviction behind it. What inspired you to write these heart-rending songs on “Tyre”? Well like I was kind of brushing over above, songs like Focus were made to be a confidant, an understanding, maybe an inspiration to anyone who needed reminding to hold onto their faith, faith in love, making it out ok, growth, all the stages of life we find painful and become crippled by sometimes. I've seen it on people I love and care about, as well as been through it myself and I wanted these records to help heal you, which is pretty much the consensus of these albums. What can we expect from you through 2019? More music. I've got another album already on the way, its in the final recording phase, its the second part of this trilogy. And hopefully the third later on this year as well, it's quite a hefty discography from me this year lol, I've worked on about 60 songs for these records and plan to have them all out. Plans for some shows as well in LA are being drawn up so we can enjoy these records live and together, as well as some custom merchandise lines and some collaborations. Keep an ear out for your boy Kasey Rios, we'll be around. Thanks for having me a second time, I appreciate you guys here at Buzz Music. - FloNerd Drops A Groovy New Tune “From A Place”
FloNerd is a rapper, songwriter and performer from Nigeria, West Africa. His debut EP, Overthrow was released on September 14 in 2016 and has a blend of various different music. His most recent release titled “From A Place” has this dope Reggaeton vibe alongside elements of danceable pop that creates the perfect party hit for this upcoming summer! His unique accent adds a stylistic makeup to his flow and delivery while his lyrics are catchy and appealing. The stratospheric and upbeat bop begins with a funky electronic introduction before the beat breaks into a playful and eclectic dance tune. The entire atmosphere of “From A Place” is just highly absorbable with contagious energy. It invigorates its listeners and all you want to do is play the song anywhere and everywhere and begin to dance! Although it could be difficult to lyrically interpret the record, “From a Place” isn’t a song that focuses on the lyrical content. I’m a firm believer that there’s a song for everything and all type of moods. So despite insufficient deep poetic lyricism, FloNerd’s “From A Place” finds its niche through an everlasting plethora of music that increases the chemistry between you and everyone surrounding you. Listen to “From A Place” here and get to know FloNerd in our exclusive interview below! FloNerd can you tell us about your debut album “Overthrow” ! what are some of your favorite songs off that project and why? The Overthrow EP was recorded and released in 2016. Its actually hard to pick a favorite off it but if I must, I’d say its ‘Pay for it’ cos its a really personal one and holds a lot of memories for me. At some point I wanted to take it off the tape and listen to it at home, alone. I got a couple other favorites on it, On My Grind (feat TenTik), Food for thought, Come so far. LOL Tell us about your single “From A Place” and what inspired you to write this? I come from a place where there’s a whole lot of bad stuff happening and the leaders seem to not care about the masses . I looked around and there was nobody speaking on it. It's all songs about women and material stuff out there. Kinda makes you feel everyone is happy and stuff but deep down we not. I knew I had to speak on it so I hit up Oga Marshall, told him about the ideas that I had, got in the studio and we recorded ‘From A Place’. What’s your personal favorite part about “From A Place’ ? My personal favorite part about ‘From A Place’ is Oga Marshall’s verse. Blows my mind every time I listen to it. Did you produce this record as well? If not who produced it? No I didn’t produce this record. I visited a friend’s studio, he played me a few records and beats. When this particular beat came on, I loved it and asked if I could use it. Had it for couple months before I finally decided to jump on it. What’s next for you!? Right now, I’m focusing on promoting the single ‘From A Place’ but back in the studio, I’m working on a tape that I don’t have a release date for yet and same time, working and deciding on a follow up single. Its all work out here and we taking it one step at time. Connect with FloNerd on social media: www.twitter.com/itzflonerd www.instagram.com/itzflonerd #BuzzMusic

This isn’t just a hip hop song, “Back to you” is a soulful track that incorporates hints of jazz and blues. Jayductions is multi-talented; singing choruses and verses with smooth vocals and laying down the rhymes with attitude and prowess. The lyrics are descriptive, sophisticated and thought provoking- its rap with purpose.
