- Gyatso Releases New Single “Dijon Cinnamon”
Gyatso is an alternative/bedroom pop artist with roots in the suburban demographic of Colorado. Feeling out of place in this environment, Gyatso began to make music for other suburban misfits and enjoyed expressing himself in this domain of art. Many of Gyatso’s songs exemplify relaxed and chill vibes while experimenting with complex beat and melodic patterns. His single “Dijon Cinnamon” goes through multiple transitions to create an end result of an unpredictable and multifarious record that has significant amount of layers a listener can uncover. Listeners are generally surprised by Gyatso’s shift in musical styles and find it hard to tie him down to one genre or category. I mean think about it, which artist do you know goes through an entire line of musical genres and fusing them all together in one chromatic and kaleidoscopic sound? Gyatso is far from ordinary and his music sticks out like a sore thumb, separating him from anybody else. “Dijon Cinnamon” has a super dope beat we find absolutely eccentric and isolated from your common beat. Not only does Gyatso shows us his comforting and nostalgic sounding vocals, he also gives us a quick-witted flow that emphasizes the idea of this groundbreaking artist being one of a kind! Jam out to "Dijon Cinnamon" and add it to your Spotify playlist! Be sure to check out the artists exclusive interview below! As a self-proclaimed ‘misfit’, what does that term mean to you? The term 'misfit' doesn't necessarily mean being out of place to me. The term misfit, in my mind, relates to having unique values and beliefs that don't align with many people. In a suburban culture, many people are looking toward the future of having a family or career and settling down. This is not the ideal future for myself, for I want to explore and expand my artistry. Thus making myself a misfit in the culture of suburbia. What was your initial vision for “Dijon Cinnamon” If you had one at all? My initial vision for "Dijon Cinnamon" was to relate to people that may be feeling the same emotions and thoughts as me. This track is inspired by living in an almost dystopian world with social media and dating apps hindering human interaction. The relationships that are built around technology are not always genuine and may turn out awkward or stressful. I am sure people have experienced this dynamic and may have felt the same as me. Knowing music serves as a slight escape for you, how would you describe your songwriting process to us? Music definitely provides an escape for me, especially making music. The process of writing, recording and producing is never a cut and dry process. For this track, one of my good friends, Cameron Lofton (a co-producer and writer), and I were messing around making beats and were influenced heavily by artists like Frank Ocean and JPEG Mafia. We were experimenting with sounds and eventually built a pretty solid beat for a hook. In this case, the instrumentation and background came first then the concept and vocals. We were both struggling with the idea of social media and online dating at the time and decided to describe a scene of a date that was going south. The whole unit came together very quickly and I wrapped a bow on the track with some electric guitar to tie in my roots to metal music. What’s the meaning behind “Dijon Cinnamon” and what encouraged you to name the song this? As stated before, "Dijon Cinnamon" is based on short-lived, often one-sided relationships that may be flakey or ingenuine. The song is describing a scene where I am not happy in the position I am in, so I am very focused on materials and items around them instead of the person I am with. The title came from the hook lyrics and are two different words that describe the feeling of these relationships. Both dijon and cinnamon are spicy ingredients and provide a metaphor for how some of these situations can be. What else can we expect from Gyatso in the near future? Currently, I am sitting on a variety of unreleased music. Some of it falls into lo-fi/bedroom pop, some have more of a rap vibe and other tracks are entirely pop influenced by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber. There are very big plans for the future in terms of music, visuals, and performances but for now, I hope listeners are able to enjoy and connect with "Dijon Cinnamon" although there is an arsenal of great music to come. - The Missteps Made The Right Step With Their New Single “April 10th”
Both from Southern California, Austin Roach and Jachob Behnke met in their early twenties at a mutual friends party. A few beers and a few years later the two would later become what is now known as The Missteps. After six attempts of collaborating as two individual artists, the two attempted to collaborate one more time. This time the two started a project from scratch instead of bringing ideas to the studio session. It was then the two realized they had something special. They began meeting once, sometimes twice a week in Austin’s bedroom. After a year long of writing and developing their sound, the two are still constantly challenging themselves to break through genre limitation. Each individual member of this two piece special unit, brings their own unique style into the fused together sound. While Roach brings elements from his roots of genres such as house, future bass, dubstep and hip hop, Jachob brings elements of blues, classic rock, jazz and funk. The result? An intricate hit record such as “April 10th”. “April 10th” has this grimy and funky beat supporting the idiosyncratic rap flows. It showcased the computerized element of dubstep and house while having a soulful consistent progression in the bass. That soul doesn’t escape as it remains present in the blues like elements you hear from an acoustic guitar. The beat you hear in the beginning of the single isn’t the same beat you hear by the end of “April 10th” and I was a huge fan of that. They were able to transition the melodic instrumental into a new direction to add flavor to the song while sticking to a simplistic nature that people can become bored of. The Missteps poetic lyricism was deep and conveyed a sense of knowledge, wisdom, and emotion. With the canorous jingle presented in the hook, the rap seemed to hold deep context behind it, grasping your attention even more. The Missteps hope to continue strive towards their end goal of becoming successful musicians, song writers and artists. The Missteps may have missed a few steps, and although they may miss a few more, one way or another, they will reach their goal. Be sure to check out The Missteps "April 10th" on Spotify, and keep scrolling for the duos exclusive interview! What inspired you guys to call yourselves “The Missteps”? We wanted a name that not only told our story thus far, but also something that was going to continue to carry on our story. We’d like to think that even though we’ve taken several wrong steps in life, that we’ll end up where we are meant to be. We to carry on the philosophy that missteps are the building blocks which create the individuals we are today. We live, we experience, we fail, we succeed, we learn and adapt. The Missteps is the result of two individuals that, on paper shouldn’t make music together, but for whatever reason it works. Tell us a little bit about the single “April 10th”, what’s the meaning behind the lyrics conveyed in this single? It’s a song about the shooting that took place on April 10th 2017 at a school in San Bernardino and the child that was killed. You hear about these shootings that happen on the news and you’re saddened by such atrocities. But this one was so close to our home. It took place in a city that I was familiar with and have friends in. It struck on a different level than any of the other shootings I had heard about. I felt this urge to write about it. So on April 11th 2017, as Austin continued working on the production of the record, I went outside for a cigarette and wrote the lyrics. Went back inside laid down the vocals and we finished the tune in a 6 hour session. How do you manage to showcase versatility while attempting to stick to your niche as artists? We talk about that all the time. We still don’t think we’ve found “our sound” yet. And to be quite honest, we may never find it. Our goal with this project is to mend genres together, push boundaries, experiment with sounds, tones and instruments in the hopes that there’s people out there that want to hear something exciting and different. We’re honestly just here to have fun making the music. As long as we continue to make music that we enjoy making, we believe there will be those out there in the world that will enjoy listening to it. Any major musical influences? Austin’s influences: Flume has been a huge influence when it comes to my production. His constant strive to experiment and push boundaries, while still infusing pop music elements to his music is really inspiring. Mac Miller’s lyricism, production and overall artistry has been a real inspiration to me in recent months. I listen to “Swimming” at least once a week. Rest In Peace Mac. A few others that have played a major roll in my development as an artist would be: J. Cole, Porter Robinson, deadmau5, The Gorillaz, Skrillex, Chance The Rapper and JID. Jachob’s influences: Well I grew up a classic rock kid. All of the legends from Hendrix to Steely Dan have really cemented my ideals of music. Also, growing up in So Cal, Sublime and the work/genius of Brad left a massive impact on me. I think I’ve drawn more to the honesty of his lyrics and they way he used blues in his style of play to accent reggae. Growing older I took to blues, funk and so many other genres and bands. I found a beautiful connection with Austin in our appreciation and love for The Gorillaz which then lead me to discover MF Doom. This created a desire to use hip hop in our music and fuse it all together. What can we expect from you guys through 2019? We just finished our third single that’s going to be released within the next few months. We have about 4 more tunes finished and ready to go. We’re just being patient with our releases to give us time to continue to write new records. We’re starting to shift focus from writing and recording to getting our live show in order. We’re really excited to start playing shows. We’ve only been a “band” for about year so this is still really new to us. We’re really hopefully and very excited for what the future has in store though. Connect with the duo via their website and socials: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
- The Living Street Releases Their Calming Track "This Time Around"
The Living Street is an indie-folk duo from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. They formed in July of 2017, and the duo consists of guitarist/vocalist Nick Guckert and bassist/vocalist Edward J. Angelo. Both Guckert and Angelo grew up in a small town outside of Pittsburgh less than a mile away. They both have been passionate about music from an early age, but they didn’t cross paths until they met in school sports. Guckert and Angelo have share collaborative bond that they have been fostering for many years through various bands and projects in high school. After a decade of writing on and off, they decided to bring their music back to basics as a simple and honest acoustic duo. Their first album, “The Living Street”, was released in January 2018, and they subsequently played 60 shows on an east coast tour spanning 10,000 miles. The Living Street continues to tour the U.S.A. while working on a follow-up to their debut release. BuzzMusic is proud to present their latest single, “This Time Around”. The simplicity of the instrumentation - just a bass guitar and acoustic guitar - allows the sincerity of the vocals to come through clearly. The verses are calm, contemplative, and soothing, which allows the chorus to provide the listener with the contrast of an expansive and soaring melody. The vocal harmonies provided by bassist Edward J. Angelo support the lead vocals of Nick Guckert sublimely. From just a single selection, it is easy to see that these two musicians have a tremendous amount of collaborative spirit, and we look forward to seeing what these collaborations will bring for the future! Give a listen to "This Time Around" here, and be sure to check out the duo's exclusive interview below! Great to chat with ya! You guys are both Pittsburgh natives. How would you describe the music scene there? Great chatting with you too! Thanks for the opportunity:) Pittsburgh has a very unique music scene.. I think. There's like 20 different groups of musicians/bands playing just each others shows all over the city. I know this from playing in multiple bands that are in different groups. And I'm friends with almost every local musician on fb.( always gotta request any profile pic w someone playing guitar, you know, for networking purposes) I feel like this sounds crazy. Ha! However, there are shows going on constantly and a desire from concert goers and nightlifers to develop more venues across the city, we as musicians need to work a little harder to intermingle! Let's share our fans yo! As collaborators, can you describe your general writing process? We've been writing together for nearly ten years while in other groups or just as buddies hanging out on Ed's Parent's porch. It wasn't always easy to write together because we didnt understand or care enough to communicate our thoughts in a way that didnt make us angry, but over the years we have developed a particular communication that both of us respond well to and are able to move through the writing process simply and happily. We spend quite a lot of time in the car listening to music and we really like to dissect and discuss the way songs are written. We've been trying to crack the code for a hit song! I think we are close to a breakthrough. A song comes in many forms and we never rule out a new way to write a song. Could be better than what we've doing. Is there a particular message or meaning behind your single, “This Time Around”? This Time Around is such a special song for both of us. It's a song that nearly didnt make the album. Edward wrote the chorus and music for this track many years ago and both of us finished it at some point. It kind of fell into the pot of unused songs for a long time. One of us brought it up as a good candidate for The LivingStreet album and it blossomed in the studio. The literal meaning of the song is different for both of us as well as many of our fans. However that meaning differs, one thing seems to remain constant, the song makes you feel full of good energy and a little less alone. It's a powerful tune, and we are lucky to have made it. Who do you look to for influence and inspiration? We find inspiration and influence in nearly every aspect of our lives. We have personal stories from experience with family and dear friends. We travel all over thecountry meeting countless new friends all with incredibly diverse and unique histories, yet we are all able to make a connection in some real and meaningful way. We try new things, see as much as we can, and learn the history of the places we visit. Those connections and experiences are our songwriting juice. The more we experience the more creative content we can create, and we have done a lot in the experience department lately. So be prepared for a lot of new art from us! What does the future look like for The Living Street? We have new and incredible content coming out within the year! We have been putting in tireless work to continuously get better both creatively and as performers for our fans. We promise to have some serious bops about to drops. Our next tour in May will make us an "international touring" band seeing as how we are booked in Canada! We're gonna need to brush up on our French too;) Basically, we are gonna keep hustling til we pass out from exhaustion. Thanks for giving us a platform to share a little bit about ourselves! We are super grateful for every opportunity we get:) let's keep rockin'. Connect with The Living Street on their social media to keep up to date with latest releases and shows! Catch Mack's "Xtra" here, and scroll below to find the artists personalized interview, where he shares what it means to be an artist, and his musical influences! Has writing music served as an escape method for you growing up? Of Course! I started writing music when I was In the 5th grade and around that time I fell in love with rap music A lot of the music I was listening to at that time was like a reflection of everything that surrounded me from crime, drug abuse, seeing my grandmother struggle to take care of me when I was I younger it was hard! even as kid growing up in such a poor environment so every-time I wrote a rap the subject was always pertaining to something I was going through at that time whether it was good or bad. Describe the song “Xtra” to us from your own artist perspective and what it means to you! Xtra! lol it’s kind of funny I actually freestyled the whole record but I got the idea from my brother he was in the studio with me at the time. Lol! Ima tell you a quick story how it came about my brother was arguing with a friend on the phone and she was just being belligerent screaming, cursing calling him everything but “The child of God” lol and it was over something really childish Btw so after about 5min of ranting went on he had enough! So hung up the phone FaceTimed her and said look I ain’t with all that Extra shit you bringing in my life And Hung up in her face again .... And When He Said That I just felt It Deep In my Soul like “damn “ I can relate lol. But my perspective is if a individual I know or associate with on a regular if we can’t get on the same level mentally then I can’t deal with you everything you doing is Xtra. If you could feature any rapper of your choice on “Xtra” who would you select and why? If I could feature one artist on Xtra it will probably be J.Cole simply because his energy matches mine humble dude but he’s deadly lol and he stays in his own lane he doesn’t seek attention he lets his music speak for him. How was the process for creating the video to “Xtra” ? I did the video the same night I recorded the song I didn’t have any plans of doing a video that day it just happened the vibe was so lit in the studio when I was making it we just said fuck it my camera guy was with me anyway so it just happened organically. Out of all your musical influences, which is your favorite and why? My favorite musical influences are my people back home in Alabama they really believe in me they’ve always had my back through whatever they give me constructive criticism on everything from my music to life decisions you know coming from where I’m from i always remind myself how far I’ve come in my life and that keeps me grounded. What's next for you through 2019? 2019 we dropping singles and visuals I got over 100 songs recorded so I may drop a mixtape late in the year but nevertheless expect to see a lot of Mack DeeZe. Keep up to date on the latest with Mack through the artists Facebook and Instagram! #BuzzMusic

Listen to Michael's "Heartache" here, and don't forget to check out the artists personalized interview below! Hi Michael. Can you introduce yourself to our readers? Tell us a little about how you got into music! I’m a 19-year-old singer that was born in Toronto and raised in Brampton on with the passion for music. Growing up I had many influences in music like Chris brown, Usher, and Michael Jackson at a very young age of 7, I started making music in my small studio creating my own sound and developing myself as an artist. When did you create your first song and do you remember the feelings you felt? Wow I remember my first song was made in 2014 and it was the best feeling because I actually wrote a song and recorded it, I felt excited and proud! Can you explain to us what “Heartache" is about and what inspired you to write it? Basically, me and this girl used to have a relationship we had something strong and it was love. I messed up the relationship and she now want nothing to do with me we fell apart and I’m telling her all the wonderful memories that we had together, Throughout the song you can hear my emotions change from begging her back to my pride reminding me that it wasn’t my fault. In the song I’m very vulnerable and have a lot of emotional changes. In one line you hear me say “Just tell me how I’m chasing just to keep on the ground, cause you keep coming back to me” Basically I keep trying to get her back but I end up staying in the same spot, I come to a realization that continuously thinking about her won’t help me elevate. Then I switch and realize that I can’t forget about her because she keeps coming back to me and the heartache continues. What inspired me to write Heartache is that I wanted a song that connects with people and describes their pain. Explain to us a little bit about your songwriting? What is your creative process like? First when creating a song, I find a quiet space and listen to the sound and I have melodies in my head, I write about some personal experiences and about others experiences. What can we expect to see next for you? Big things more music and amazing music videos, I’m already working on new songs set to release very soon! - LA Band Is Bringing Real Rock 'n' Roll Back!
With high energy, progressive chords, and an electrifying melody, I introduce you this original Rock 'n' Roll band created by Brinley Amicon, lead guitarist, and Ali Quinn, lead vocalist/pianist, in 2014, “79”. This Los Angeles based band sets the bar high with their assured sound that sticks to the classic of Rock N' Roll music and waters the roots of an electric and downright badass aura you can’t help but love! They released their single titled “Bring It Through” and we can help you digest this song into sections to explain to you why this unique band is the next big thing! “Bring It Through” immediately begins with a level of enthusiasm that every Rock 'n' Roll record should have in my opinion. The guitar ring was so dope and addictive they knew exactly how to get my head bopping back and forth! The vocals were so nasty in a good way. Ali Quinn has the edgy, foghorn voice that pierces you through different vocal registers and dynamics. However, I can’t help but admire the entire guitar breakthrough from 3:40 till the end. It was consistent with the melody with unexpected riffs to catch you and release you all over again! Each record 79 releases encompasses a vintage feel and can be described as middle ground between the blues and hard rock. At a time when pop music has a commanding influence on the industry, 79 plans to revive the ugly and raw rock sounds from 1960-1990. Be sure to catch 79's "Bring It Through" now on Spotify, and scroll below to find the bands exclusive interview! You’re heavy influenced by the raw rock n roll sound from the classic days. Who are some great bands who served as an inspiration for you guys? Some of our primary inspirations are Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Guns N Roses, and Black Sabbath. Funny enough, Brinley (lead guitarist) and Ali (lead vocalist/keys) created 79 in hopes of generating enough money to meet Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. Anyways, these bands helped us decipher our sound, stage presence, wardrobe, overall attitudes, etc. The thing about 79 is rock n roll is not some costume, it is our lifestyle. Describe the feelings you feel after creating an exhilarating hit like “Bring It Through.” We are overwhelmed by the reaction and are extremely grateful for anyone that has given it a listen. The music industry is so overpopulated right now and people have tons of music they could listen to, so we are thankful they chose ours. The song was written very quickly. Brinley had written the main riff almost two years ago and then brought it to the band when the idea of getting back in the studio started floating around. After that, Brinley, Tommy, and Thomas finished most of the instrumentals within a two-hour rehearsal. Tommy and Thomas embellished the song with elements that took “Bring It Through” to the next level. Once the music was finished, Ali added her melody and “outspoken” lyrics—some of the lyrics were rewritten the day before recording. One of the best things about 79 is we are concerned about the big picture, opposed to showcasing one musician. Tell us a little bit about the meaning of “Bring It Through.” The song is controversial both lyrically and musically. Lyrically speaking, “Bring It Through” discusses struggling for your craft, individuals blindly following authority, and government officials profiting from their positions with little regard to citizens. The instrumental breakdown captures these lyrics by creating a sound in which the audience is unable to determine where the song will lead next. The frantic sound eventually resolves into an instrumental dialog between guitar and unified drums and bass. Regardless of the positive or negative interpretations, we firmly stand behind the content produced and the way in which it is expressed: honestly. When can we expect the next exciting show from 79? Our next show is March 23rd at the Peppermint Club! This show is particularly important, as it is a “Top Four Bands in LA” showcase. We are introducing a new, high energy, set! Additionally, this will be our first-time playing “Bring It Through” live. Tickets are available on the Peppermint Club’s website. You won’t want to miss this special night What's next for the band through 2019? In 2019, you can expect us releasing new music and potentially a live album within the next month! A music video for “Bring It Through” is also in the works. Finally, we are looking at performing in cities outside California. It is going to be a big year for us! Dark Signal is a melodically blended rock group incorporating their influences of artist from Shinedown to Bring Me The Horizon. Dark Signal has a strong vision for their performances as well as their studio sound that will make you a definite fan. Filled with angst and a new age kind of rock, Dark Signal’s track, “Drag Me To Hell” brings both visually appealing and melodic art. The guitars are as gritty as the vocals which make the so more intense besides the dynamics. The production is used well using distortion strategically while having breaks of clean smooth vocals. - New Music Friday: Bryan Lazar Releases New Song "Closer To You"
"Closer to you", opens up with a 70s inspired guitar riff that will transport you to the sun bathed, palm lined Sunset Boulevard as you cruise past the towering palms in your vintage convertible. In "Closer to you", Bryan Lazar sings of a love stricken man bewitched by an intriguing leading lady that will send good vibrations through your speakers and into your shoes. Bryans' voice secrets a smooth and sly feeling, accompanied by grooving cords and an upbeat tempo. His voice offers the serenading clout like John Mayer and the wailing guitar in the background is reminiscent of Eric Clapton’s"‘Layla". A talented musician, Bryan Lazar first picked up the guitar at age 11 and played in various bands throughout his elementary and secondary school years, furthering his passion for music at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he graduated with a degree in Performance. His musical influences include Peter Frampton and Eric Clapton which fueled his passion in music and as a result, Bryan Lazar has self-released four albums, his latest: "Just Not the Same." "Closer to you" drops today and will leave you wanting to hear more, check out his latest single and dive deeper in to Bryan Lazar here. Hi Bryan! What is it about music that makes you so passionate? There are many amazing things about music, but one amazing thing is that it belongs to anybody. Obviously I don't mean this in a for-profit way, but I love that music gives anybody the right to interpret it anyway you want to. Nobody is the same and we can draw meaning from the same thing in many different ways and I don't really know another outlet that allows us to do this. You can listen to a song and think it means one thing and somebody else can listen to it and come up with something completely different and I think that's incredible. I love that music can cause me to feel certain emotions. It's allowed me to be a part of some life changing performances and situations that have shaped me into the person that I am today. I love that a musical experience can be just as emotional for me as a performer as it is when I am in the audience. I generally care when somebody listens to anything of mine and when that can trigger a reaction, there's nothing quite like it. What where the influences that contributed to the creation of "Closer to you"? I found myself listening to a lot of R&B and classic groups like Steely Dan over the past year and started coming up with some ideas in the studio that I found to be more similar to those artists rather than my usual singer/songwriter sound that I've been working on in the past. This was one of the ideas that came in a few about in a session a few months ago and I just really was into it. I think this might be the first track I've done with electric drums and synths, but still having a familiar overtone that won't sound like a completely different project. I'm very happy with how the final product turned out. How has the California/LA music scene influenced your music? I don't think there's any doubt that California and LA more specifically comes through as an influence in my music. I was born and raised in LA and always loved my hometown to the point that when I went to school in Boston I was always trying to brag about it any chance I got. There's a laid-back vibe here in So-Cal but there's also a strong presence of talent everywhere you go. It's incredibly inspiring. I could go to a show on any given night and leave there to rush home and write all night long. I think if I was living somewhere else the inspiration wouldn't come as easy as it does here. LA is a city for creation and I love being a creator who calls it home. What is your favorite part in the song writing process? I write a little bit differently than most do. I don't think I'm a great lyric writer. I'm a boring person and when it comes to telling stories, I feel that I don't really have anything different to say that hasn't been said billions of times. However, I feel that my strong suit is definitely the musical side of a track when composing. I started playing music as a guitar player and only started singing because all of my heroes growing up were guitar player's that could also sing. Clapton, Hendrix, SRV, Frampton, Mayer, etc. All incredible guitar players as well as singers. But if you were to ask any of these musicians if they considered themselves a singer or a guitar player every single one would say "Guitar player first, anything else second" and that's the same answer for myself. So when I start to write a song the lyrics almost always come when the track is pretty much complete, musically speaking. This sometimes can be challenging because I get so used to hearing the track as an instrumental that it can be a little difficult to start to come up with a lyrical melody on top of the idea. There have definitely been a few examples of when a hook or a line have come to me first but I'd say 9/10 times when I write a song I come up with pretty much a majority of the instrumental first, followed by lyrics. What areas in music are you hoping to explore in 2019? As always, I hope to grow not only as a musician and writer but a person in 2019. I recently signed a deal with a new label so I am very excited to see what happens with my new team working behind me and I feel that some of the things that we are coming up with are very exciting. This is the first release of much more and I can't wait to show the world what I've been cooking up. I took some time off to figure a few things out, but definitely ready to come back into the spotlight and kill it. Connect with Bryan Lazar on Instagram and Facebook. #BuzzMusic
- Atlanta Rapper Hittah 4 Releases His Single “Motorola" Featuring 6”6
Up and coming rapper from Atlanta, Hittah 4, translates the trendy and contemporary Hip Hop sound effortlessly while remaining true to his authentic artistry and unique style catered towards him. He released his single “Motorola” featuring rapper 6”6. What I really fancied the most about this dope single was how both Hittah 4 and 6”6 each had their own wave going on yet they fused together to collaborate and produce a hit. “Motorola” has moments of witty punchlines and bars that exhibit fun songwriting alongside a level of skill some rappers lack. They didn’t stick to one flow the entire song. Instead, they switched up the flow but doesn’t shy away from remaining devoted to their specific style of delivery in which fits the subdued banging beat. “Motorola” is the perfect record to listen too while riding around cruising in your car and just easily catching a vibe from an underground and upcoming rap song that still can compete alongside the charting singles we hear everyday on the radio! “Motorola” could undeniably go mainstream! Listen to "Motorola" on Soundcloud here. Has the music scene in Atlanta impact your style in any possible way? Atlanta influenced my style a lot. Even though I don’t try to sound like anyone, you can’t help but be influenced by the greats and even the young ones like me coming up. I really just look to Future and Thug for inspiration. How did the idea of collaborating on “Motorola” come about? That was the first song I did when I got out of jail. I was already with my bro, so when we pulled up - it was a no-brainer. Do you write all your music? If so, do you believe it’s important for rappers to write their own raps instead of using a songwriter or ghostwriter? I don’t write I freestyle all my music but I feel like it all depends on how much you love the game. What's next for you in 2019? Me and my team going nothin' but up I’m droppin' so many projects this year it’s going to be legendary.

Listen to "Silver Linings" here and get to know Gigi Rich in our exclusive interview below! Gigi! Congrats on the release of your new single "Silver Lining", tell us a bit about it! Thank you! This song was actually written in a relatively short period of time, and I didn’t know if I was emotionally prepared to write it. It is about a time in my life I would try and block out, but my mind was always drifting back to it. I was sort of stuck in a loop. This song has been my silver lining in a weird way, making me realize that when dealing with the difficult times in life, I still had my music. It’s basically about someone I fell for - way too fast, so fast that they forgot to drop all of the dozen other people that they were still involved with in some way. When preforming your newest single, ‘Silver Lining’, how does the song make you feel? Now I can sing it and feel good. I’ve had the time to process. I still tap into that emotion but it’s not so heavy. I also love the groove so it’s a blast to play live! With such a busy schedule juggling school, recording and preforming, how do you carve out time to write? It comes naturally. Sometimes I am not so great at balancing my schedule and JUST want to write, even when I know I have other things to do. But everything that I’m doing leads me to meet new people and experience new things which inspires me, and then I’ll sit down and write it out! As you near completion of your next EP, what are you most looking forward to? I want to tour soooo badly! To get out there and meet people and share my music in a live setting. I want to get these songs out into the universe. It’s been torture waiting! How do you keep your voice poised and ready to hit those powerful notes? I have been training for a long time, and have created practice routines for myself that keep my voice in good shape. Everybody knows to warm up before they sing, but the “warm down” is super important for me. Nerves/moving around can make you push a little bit during the show. I also drink a ton of throat coat with like 7 pounds of honey. That stuff is the bomb. What atmosphere do you create for yourself when sitting down to write your music? I don’t really have a particular atmosphere that I need. I guess I like when the energy around me is calm. I have my little USB mic or my phone right by me that records everything because I’ll sing something I like and then immediately forget! It’s the worst feeling. During cowrites, oftentimes the energy in the room can kind of steer the direction of the song so in those situations, I like to take the time to break the ice and get to know the people I’m writing with. What's next for you through 2019? Continuing to release music, touring, and definitely doing some shows here in LA. Just keep working!
