- sam. Breaks Down Her Wall And Allows Her Emotion To Sing!
When sam. sings you feel and hear every note. She sings from a place of passion and honesty. She shares her life experiences through her music and you can’t help but love her for that. For every life problem that sam. has encountered growing up, music has always been her escape. A brave soul indeed, sam. has challenged many triumphs in life that others cannot possibly wrap their heads around. She’s been through her fair share of mental health issues and wants to reach out to fans to connect over those issues and bridge the gap in understanding. Though many people do not know what it is like to have lived with mental health issues, sam. does and wants to make others with these issues feel less alone too. She believes connecting through music to be one of the ultimate forms of connection and strives to be an artist that can vibe with her fans and connect with them on a personal level. sam. released her record titled “Wreck My Soul” and you can tell that she continues to sing from a vulnerable and pure emotion in her body. The gorgeous song has all the elements that makes up an authentic artist. sam. doesn’t try to fabricate a pop-star image, instead she organically allows herself to be her natural form. Which in my opinion, makes her more of a true bonafide star. This characteristic is displayed through not only the music but the video. Instead of going above and beyond with an extravagant outfit choice, and extra props, sam. kept it simplistic while still keeping you attentive to the video and hypnotized by her contextual vocals. You can’t help but feel more alive while listening to the genuineness and sincerity possessed in her voice and the eye-pleasing visual. sam. is a compelling songwriter who writes from a place where can appreciate to its fullest extent! Be sure to catch sam.'s "Wreck My Soul" and don't miss out on the artists exclusive interview below! Sam your story is highly compelling. As an advocate for mental health, have you ever thought about getting involved with organizations surrounding this topic? I definitely have thought about getting involved in mental health related organizations. I wanted to volunteer for a while but could not find a position and then wanted to become a peer support worker in order to help others. I'm still hoping the peer support worker position will work out one day because I'm pretty passionate about it. I'd also like to speak out about mental health and how important it is to care for, but I don't have the platform for that right now. “Wreck My Soul” was an amazing song! What’s the meaning behind it? "Wreck My Soul" was written at a very difficult part of my life. The song talks about not feeling real or things not feeling real around me which meant I was dissociating a lot. Writing and singing about it helped ground me. I also talk about wanting to die in that song, and that's a very real reality for me. It's something I still struggle with. This song focuses on life feeling so wrong and hopeless, and everyone around me trying to keep me alive when I didn't want to be. It views a darker entity (the him I speak about) trying to "steal my soul" and kill me. Because essentially, that's what it feels like depression is doing to me. What inspired you to write“Wreck My Soul” ? What inspired me to write "Wreck My Soul" was purely the way I was feeling. Being so depressed and dissociating all the time, I couldn't take it anymore. I needed an outlet to express how I felt. So I wrote "Wreck My Soul" and I hope when others hear it, they can relate. When creating the music video, what was the visual goal? The visual goal for the video was to depict something that has happened to me before. Having Borderline Personality Disorder, life is tough to live, and sometimes when people break your heart, your all or nothing thinking takes over and you decide to kill yourself. This has been a reality so many times for me. I wanted to show people that although you may be depressed and suicidal, there is always hope. Hope came to me in that video as my husband saving my life and showing me that he did love me and wanted to stay with me. Are you excited or nervous for your very first show coming up in May? I'm very excited and very nervous for my first show in May! I'm trying to mentally prepare myself but I don't feel as scared of the crowd as I thought I would be feeling. I often envision the crowd in my head with me on stage and it excites me. I'm happy to vibe with so many people! - Compltr's New Release "Fare Jumper" Gives Us A Hazy Feeling
Compltr is the project by Jeff Wright that was kick-started 2018 with the CS release of Purification Ritual via Etruscan Gold (Wax Idols’ imprint label). “Fare Jumper” is the first single from Rogue, set to release on April 19th. Fare Jumper highlights the recognition of consistently destroying oneself while being disgusted with the result despite not knowing how to better it. The intro of “Fare Jumper” consists of upbeat drums with a slightly dark timbre along with distorted guitar riffs and somewhat melancholic vocals. The song is roughly two and a half minutes long, but packs a lot of punch within a short amount of time. The drums are at an even tempo and give a kind of darker twist, similar to Foster the People. The concept of the song is definitely complicated and has an edgy yet indie feel to it. The topics of the song range on variety of topics, taking a raw and blunt perspective on life. Compltr has a sound of his own and is ready and equipped to share it with listeners from all over the world. His sound is different but appealing to a broad range of listeners. Definitely an artist to keep an eye out for! Stream Compltr's "Fare Jumper" now on Spotify. Keep up to date with the latest on Compltr through the artists website! #BuzzMusic
- Aaron Martyn Gives Us A Hit About The IG Models!
In today’s age, social media is probably one of the most leading aspects in the current generations idea of “leisure activity”. Instagram is loaded with your favorite “IG models” who trend daily with their riveting posts. Fifteen year old singer and songwriter Aaron Martyn channels that popular element into his Caribbean styled pop hit “Insta Famous”. The lyrical quality behind “Insta Famous” was my favorite. Here you have a song that not only touches base on how instagram could consume the mentality of a girl who is itching to be one of the gram’s leading faces, but he gives you a romantic love bop by exhibiting his gentleman persona and discussing his interest in the girl despite her interest in the likes and comments from everybody else. His smooth voice that’s texturized like silk, serenades you through this fun and charismatic song with elements of lovey-dovey with an idyllic viewpoint on society. Aaron Martyn not only delivered us a song with fun lyrical wordplay, he distributed us a hit tune, digestible for every lover of pop and dancehall music. “Insta Famous” is no doubt the perfect sound for today’s generation and could most definitely go mainstream! - Pop Sensation Alessa XO Gives Meaning To Songwriting By Delivering Upbeat Hit
Alessa Aichinger who goes by the stage name Alessa XO, grew up in a small town in the south of Austria with limited musical opportunities however she did not allow that to stop her from attaining her dreams and striving to become a groundbreaking success. The birth of Alessa XO occurred once she graduated from high school and got presented with the opportunity to go to New York and attend the NYC Film Academy. Her acting skills soon got her casted in various different films, productions, and commercials. A multifaceted character, Alessa talents soon got her discovered by a music producer who helped manufacture her first release. The birth of the upcoming music sensation, Alessa XO's goal is to follow the same path as a few great multi-talented artists who have been inspirations to her such as SIA, H.E.R. and Amy Winehouse among many others. Her goal is to bring the same passion, hard work and honesty that has fueled her early acting success to her music career. For Alessa XO, writing meaningful lyrics has always played an extremely important part in being a music artist. The release of her single titled “We Are One” begins with an electronic pop danceable introduction that remains thorough throughout the entire single. The beat immediately encourages you to dance along. It reminds me a lot of those popular “dubstep” and “EDM” type sounds where you’re just evoked to party hard and don’t stop! Despite the extravagant sounding pop instrumental, Alessa's passion for meaningful storytelling comes to light with her thought-provoking lyricism. Delivered with more upbeat energy, she still didn’t lose her niche of incredible songwriting that enlightens our thinking process of what the jam packed record could be about! “Together, forever, we are one”. What I interpreted from this song is that it discusses the unity and joint companionship between two people who comes together and forms a union. I also believe it could go on a more deeper lyrical connotation to talks about the invitation and welcoming of somebody new into a place they may seem unfamiliar with. She’s basically saying it’s okay, and to feel comfortable because we’re both just human. In my opinion, fans would be able to feel more of a genuine connection and chemistry between Alessa, the music, and themselves. I was a big fan of her progressive vocals. Alessa was able to channel in the correct personality for this record and you can take notice of her special charisma throughout the song. The melody was pleasant and moved fluently with the song--especially around the hook when her vocals becomes more augmented to add a detailed effect to the song. "We Are One" has a unique and special transition around around 3:20 time frame to 3:35 where the beat transforms into this dope breakdown that emphasizes the idea of “We Are One” being a mainstream and radio hit! You’re bound to dance along while being touched by her riveting and unique songwriting caliber! Be sure to add Alessa XO's "We Are One" to your Spotify playlist, and check out the artists interview below, where she lets us in on her creation process! Alessa XO became your stage name once you graduated high school! Prior to post-graduation, did you ever have any aspirations to become an artist? Yes, I did. I actually do not come from a family of artists (my parents are both incredible doctors and I admire them very much) so the choice I made was quite different, but I feel like if you are internally an artist, it will always come out at some point. When I was younger, I played the piano, attended acting/theatre courses in my hometown and joined a choir. I worked as much as could and even though there were not a lot of opportunities in the entertainment business in my hometown, I managed to get accepted to a well-known acting school in New York City after high school graduation. That was the point when I could actually start working as an artist more professionally and creating content. How beneficial are your past acting skills for your music and artistry? Very beneficial. I trained at NYFA in New York City for a year and the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute for two years. First off, the acting training really made me get to know myself better, my inner fears, wishes and everything else because method acting, which you do at Strasberg, is quite an intense training and it can bring out a lot of buried emotions and feelings. This most definitely helped me while writing relevant lyrics for my songs, because the training enabled me to dig deep and use my past experiences as well as things I have gone through emotionally. Acting training also helped, when creating a video concept for a record, directing a video project or even starring in it myself. Knowing you’re keen on creating songs with lyrical substance, how would you describe the lyrical content in “We Are One”? Writing meaningful lyrics is extremely important to me as an artist. Since it has become a trend for artists to not write songs themselves anymore, I feel even stronger and prouder about writing and singing my own lyrics. “We are one” is the first single from my new album with the same name and it was a collaboration between the founders of the World Bodypainting Festival, my team and me. When I lived in London, I finished a bachelor’s degree in international politics and Languages at Kings College and during my last year there, all the political craziness happened such as the right-wing movements in Europe and Brexit among others. I was very shocked and started thinking of how I could personally attempt to make a positive impact and promote peace and love. “We are one” is an artistic as well as a political message, promoting unity, community, and acceptance. The World Bodypainting festival is an event where people from all over the world attend and have the chance to collaborate and showcase their artistry. No one cares about what religion, race or gender you are, it is a place of acceptance, celebration, and artistry. In my opinion, this is how it should be, life is too short to argue, fight and wage wars. At the end of the day, we are all one, we are one race, which is the human race. How did you manage to find a balance between an energetic sound with passionate lyrics? Even though I write from my heart and use personal experiences, I do not want to bore anyone with too emotionally heavy or overly dramatic songs. I would describe myself as very versatile. Every single song I work on has its own story and has been in the works for a good while. I want my fans to identify with what I’m saying but also have a great time while listening, so a lot of my songs are actually upbeat and energetic. I drew a lot of inspiration from my favorite artists such as SIA or Ryan Tedder (One Republic), who are some of my biggest inspirations on the songwriting end and mixed a lot of different musical elements in the songs for my new album such as pop, dance, EDM, singer-songwriter style and classical music. I believe me and my team managed to produce some quality records that will make people think, dream and hopefully feel very happy. What else can we expect from you in the near future? How are you planning on showcasing versatility while remaining true to your incredible artistry? I just finished a whole album, which has been in the works for about the last two years. I moved from London back to New York City in early November 2018 and am in conversation with a few bigger record labels regarding a good deal. My goal and dream would definitely be to reach an international audience with my music, do tours and collaborate with as many talented musicians as possible, I also want to continue my acting, focusing mainly on TV and film work since I love the pace of that field. A big goal would be to get one of the new songs from the album featured in a movie or TV show. Generally, I would use my platform to spread a message of positivity, unity, and love and promote what I stand for as an artist and as a person. For me producing quality content is and will always be very important. I want to always remain true to myself and what I stand for and not lose sight of my vision, goals, and message. - Sciarra Will Have You Back For More After Listening To This Hazy Hit!
Sciarra is an alternative electronic-pop artist and songstress who grew up in Anaheim Ca and gives you the ultimate musical eargasm with her single “Back For More”. The dark and haunting aura with a chilling and eerie atmosphere is the perfect song for those who are fan of the unlighted and evocative style of music. “Back For More” begins with an increase in dramatics before she vocally comforts you into the music with her idiosyncratic vocal tone and a depressing melody that’s perfect for the unsettling, yet addicting record. The beat really highlights the pictorial brand of her artistry. With different sound effects, and moments of electronic and pop both being fused into one kick ass beat, it lays as a foundation and base for the entire song. Her voice is one of those poignant sounds that you’re intrigued by, and she leaves you wanting more--you can’t help but want to replay the song again just for that sole factor. Ranging from the melody, to the augmented instrumental, and to her contextual vocal tone, “Back For More” is the perfect emotional convicted song to emphasis any mood you’re currently feeling! - Music Video Premiere: Pretty Archie “Stay The Same”
Pretty Archie premieres their video to their time traveling single “Stay The Same”. Instead of remaining monotonous and delivering a music video that conforms to the norm of your typical video, Pretty Archie gave us a visual atypical from the rest with an illustrative demonstration. Pretty Archie showcases the gravitating genre-bending fusion of folk, bluegrass, country, rock and vintage soul. How could you possibly resist? The visual helps emote the entire modern renaissance aesthetic of the music. I love the usage of curated characters instead of actual live humans portraying the story because it fabricates a more natural, fun and fun bubble surrounding the song. “Stay The Same” is the perfect song to listen to if you want to feel “at home” with the whole rural environmental setting. Pretty Archie always find some way to encourage listeners to take lean times in stride, suck it up, stick it out and just keep going! The music video helps tell the story of the vocalist and their recounting and anecdotes lyrics. In the detailed video, you see the depiction of a highway chase with a sheriff and vehicle that consists of Pretty Archie, however, we believe the sheriff car serves as an emblematic use for time! Everything in the video seems so imaginative and metaphorical instead of straight-forward and simplistic where you’re able to have the freedom to create your own annotation. I give them tons of credit due to how difficult it could be in creating illustrative videos, yet the amount of precision and meticulous effort used was satisfying to witness. After all, who doesn’t love a great cartoon?! Pretty Archie aspires to inspire all the dream-chasers in life who've been aiming for a specific goal for a while and feels as if they should throw in the towel. That inspirational perspective enables the band to weave multiple threads of continuity, lyrically, song to song, based purely on instinct. It’s appealing to all the witted individuals and caters to those who needs a good teaspoon of entertainment! Connect with Pretty Archie on social media: Facebook Twitter Instagram #BuzzMusic
- Get Caught Up In "Lust"
Up and coming 22 year old music producer hailing from Southern California by the name of Dlopes started to make his mark in his music career after discovering it was her therapeutic outlet. Some of Dlopes influences include artists and bands like Nirvana, Cage The Elephant and Kanye West. With such a rage of influences you can tell how this plays a part in he creates his own music. Dlopes brings something raw and unique to the table that you need to check out! Dlopes brings us a laid back version of Lo-Fi beats with his new album“Lust”. Dlopes fuses classic Hip Hop combined by his notable Lo-Fi flares making Dlopes develop a unique stand out sound for himself. Dlopes feeds us with vibes and emotion, leaving the listener lost in the music and catching the vibes that Dlopes is winding out. A combination of hard beats and acoustic guitars fading in and out at certain cues throughout the song. Dlopes keeps the sound fresh and attention grabbing throughout the entire album. Listen to "Lust" here and be sure to check out our exclusive interview with Dlopes below! Hi there! Can you tell our readers a little about yourself and how you got into pursuing music as your career? I got into pursuing music originally because I used to write poetry in high school and I decided to write to instrumentals so I eventually thought why not make the instrumentals that I could write to. In what ways has Nirvana influenced the way you produce your music? Nirvana has influenced my music because Nirvana didn't care about rules and as long as the music was good that's all that mattered. They were a grunge band but you could have put them in so many different categories. That's kind of like me like I make I guess you would say hip hop instrumental beats but when I have shown them to people they would like it but not know what type of music genre to call it which I think is cool. What kind of music do you mostly listen to right now? If you had to choose who to collaborate with right now - who would you choose? I listen to a lot of alternative, Indie, Hip hop, Rap, R&B, Trap, Punk , Rock and whatever Twenty One Pilots is. If I could choose anyone to collaborate with right now I would choose Brockhampton! What was the creation process like for, “Lust”? Well the creation process for lost was that I feel like I tend to lost for people when in reality they probably don't see me in the same way or I'll get ignored by them. I feel like that's 25% of the reason and the other 75% is because we live in a society were lust is a big thing. There's Instagram and Snapchat and Twitter and I feel like us young adults/teenagers are always comparing each other and for what? But at the end of the day you could have some really attractive or think about somebody all the time and have them seem like a celebrity but if they don't like you the same way, you're just lusting and that's our society nowadays. Lust is an illusion. How would you describe the mood of “Lust”? I would describe my album Lust to be something that almost everyone can relate to. It's kind of like the 1st half of the album is the happy mood and the 2nd half of the album is like the harsh reality which necessarily isn't pretty but it's real. When its coming to Lust I do believe some forms of lust can turn into love and I don't think it's bad for people to lust, I just feel like we as society tend to lust after the wrong people. - Alyssia Dominguez Brings Her Own Twist To Country Music With Her Latest Single “Vamonos”
Singer Alyssia Dominguez brings her own twist to the country music scene with a hispanic influence. Growing Up, Alyssia was deeply in touch with her heritage and traditional Tejano music. Being a musician was something that Alyssia was always destined to be. By the time she was fifteen, Alyssia started performing at local venues and since then, her stages have grown to the Wisconsin State Fair, Summerfest, Turner Hall Ballroom, and the list goes on. Currently, Alyssia performs as a solo artist and is definitely going to change the country music scene with her songs like, “Vamonos” which has classic country elements mixed with fun and upbeat spanglish lyrics. This song is sure to liven up any party or event and will get everyone moving and enjoying each others company. Not only does Alyssia bring the classic mix of acoustic guitars, and driving drums but also adds her cultural flare with lyrics and almost polka sound. Seamlessly, the Americana culture of country and hispanic influence are found also in Alyssia's vocals that are a mixture of head and chest voice commonly found in mariachi vocalists. Who says you can’t have a taste of both worlds? Alyssia is sure to establish and new sound and pace for the country music scene and your playlist. Listen to “Vamonos” here and get to know Alyssia in our exclusive interview below! Hi Alyssia, can you introduce yourself to our readers? Tell us a little about how you made music your career! I am a 24 year old singer/songwriter from Wisconsin and I play music for a living. I started playing when I was 15. My grandmother, Aurelia, performed Mexican music in a band, and she introduced me to singing and playing the guitar. She taught me traditional Mexican songs and Tejano music. From then on, I was hooked. I am blessed to have my family’s support. I guess you could say my family have always been big dreamers and goal setters; my dad really pushed me to follow my dream of playing music. In what ways besides your lyrics does Tejano music influence your genre of Country music? Tejano songs are written to convey a specific feeling or emotion when they are played. This is something that always influences my performances and recordings. Country music and Tejano music are similar in this way. Their lyrics tell a story and their performance brings out the emotions they wish to convey. I love seeing a crowd reacting to and interacting with a song’s emotion even if they do not understand the words I am singing. Why do you think you infused your cultural sound with country? What drew you to Country music? I grew up listening to Tejano music. It was the background music of my entire childhood, and it was just a part of who we were. I was taught to be proud of my heritage, and Tejano is a part of my heritage. My father always wanted to move out of the city into a more rural area, and that’s where I discovered country music. Almost every radio station out here plays country music. I fell in love with the stories of the songs and the way the songs would make you feel. Fusing these two genres made perfect sense. They both tell a story and have similar roots. What is your favorite part about performing? My favorite part about performing is connecting with the people listening. Seeing people dancing and singing along is the best part of playing out. Meeting new people and making lifelong friends is an added bonus! Do you write your own songs? And did you write, “Vamonos”? I do write my own songs. I have been working very hard at writing these days, as it is not a skill that comes easily to me. I make a point to spend some time writing lines every day. Only a small portion of those actually make it into a song. I also enjoy writing with other artists. Working with another person opens up a whole new realm of ideas. The song Vámonos was co-written by me and amazing local musician named Keith Pulvermacher. Would you ever transition or experiment with another genre of music? Why or why not? These genres speak to me in a way that other types of music never have. Playing in cover bands, I often play various Rock/Pop songs, but my heart will always be with Country and Tejano music. That being said, there is no doubt that a lot of modern country- including my own album- takes cues from today’s Pop music. Genres will always blend with one another. That is something that makes music so special, there is no rule book, and style is subjective and fluid. Connect with Alessa on social media: Facebook Instagram YouTube #BuzzMusic
- Cigar Club Debuts “Holly White”
Founded in 2016, the Toronto, Canada based band Cigar Club is a classic rock hit with an alternative garage twist. The band is made up of Trevor Coughlin (vocals/guitar), Daniel Amato-Gauci (vocals/ guitar), Jeffery LeFort (bass), and Tyler Booth (drums). It can be seen through their playing styles that Dan, Trevor, Tyler and Jeff possess a distinctive connection with one another. With influences such as Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Nirvana and John Mayer, the sound of Cigar Club contains a punch of rock n roll, with soul subtleties. The band has also dived into the realm of pop rock, hard rock, blues rock and grunge, showcasing their eclectic musicality. Their latest single “Holly White” snatches every edge you could possibly have with their multifaceted components and unpredicted transitions through dynamics from soft and subtle to chaotic and brashful! “Holly White” begins with a delicate mellifluous chord from the instruments and hazy vocals from Trevor and Daniel. Their unique vocal resonance possesses a quality of raspy and tough rock grit with also a tone of intricacy that can carry a ballad forward if they chose to. What we interpreted from listening to “Holly White” is that the lyrics is dedicated to a girl that may seem out of their reach due to her high standards and almost flawless traits. The lyricism is romantic and the gorgeous tune emphasizes the emotion being projected by the vocalist. We like how this song immediately begins with an ear-piercing note from the electric guitar to prepare you for the musical orgasm you’re about to experience! There are very few young bands that possess the presence, skill, and sound to become a staple for today’s rock listeners. A new generation of rock bands are on the rise, and it’s only a matter of time until they surface. Bands like Greta Van Fleet, The Glorious Sons, and Royal Blood have done just that by recently stepping into the sights of the general public. However, Cigar Club are not too far behind and with a leading single like “Holly White” and other stimulating hits like “Soul” “Raised By Love” and “Jacket On The Floor” off their self titled EP, that time could be sooner than we expect! Listen to “Holly White” here and get to know Cigar Club in our interview below! Cigar Club, you guys have some amazing songs off your EP. Which are some of your personal favorites? Thank you thank you... well we've been playing and writing songs together for quite some time now so when it came time to record this thing we decided we'd do 5, and that was our 5 favourite songs out of our bag. We love them all for different reasons - "Soul" and "Raised by Love" for example we wrote super early in our bands existence and we love them. They were the first songs of our own that we'd finished playing and said "oh fuck yeah!", girls also liked them which was cool. I love Miss Jane (Trevor) because of how it came together and that freight train of guitars and drums that just slaps your ears in the face when it kicks in. I had the riff beginning part for a little while and didn't know where to go with it so it kind of sat around, then one day I remembered this real cheesy and bad protest like song that I was trying to write a long time ago and I took the guitar part from it, cranked an overdrive pedal and started singing over it and a few days later realized the two half songs would make really good friends, becoming Miss Jane. "Jacket on the Floor" is funny because I wrote it in my basement really high and alone one night about a nonexistent girl with no jacket to put on any floor, and then a few months later the song came to life and it sucked.... but I do really love that song now... brings back a lot of nice memories. "Holly White" I love because of where I was at in my life when I wrote it and how excited Dan was when I showed him when we were both drunk as hell at his place in Waterloo. Also people that come to our shows usually tell us they like it and we always have fun playing it. Out of all 5 definitely Miss Jane and Holly White rank on top for all of us. "Holly White” could be interpreted in many different ways by listeners, but how do you guys interpret the song? What is the meaning behind it? I think most people have a good idea of what it means, most people have been to that place at some point and if they haven't yet they're either really good at being social or they should get out more. It's just about being insecure and socially anxious and dealing with peer pressure. There’s a lot of cool transitions in this record. Do you guys like to switch it up and show versatility within the song? Sometimes, yeah. We just enjoy playing together and all love so many different genres of music it just kind of happens What's the bands favourite lyric line from "Holly White", was the songwriting process collaborative amongst all of you? "lights out, telling me to be social" ... Usually one of us will come in with lyrics and a basic structure and we'll all add our own flavours, that's how we did this one. Tyler actually wrote the second half of the second verse too. What can we expect to see from Cigar Club throughout 2019? Not as much as you can in 2020 .......... But in all seriousness we have a lot of shows planned and mainly just focusing on writing new stuff for an album come some time. Not too sure when we'll be stepping in the studio for that but 2019 definitely will consist of its writing process. Connect with Cigar Club on social media: Instagram
