  • Edgy Rock Band Acting Captain Releases "On The Rocks"

From Salem, Oregon, Progressive garage rockers Acting Captain consists of singer/guitarist Sean McLeod, bassist Robert Keith, and drummer Dan Reisner. The quartet has been perfecting their craft for roughly 15 years. Over time, the band has gone through several different lineups and currently has added guitarist Shawn Thornhill in order to give some more structure to their band. From the start of their track, “On The Rocks” we are greeted with heavy bass lines and distorted rhythm guitar. Driving with sounds of classic rock with lovely harmonies in the breaks, the result is a headbanging track. Similar to that of Led Zeppelin and possibly even Black Sabbath respectively, the guitar solo is stellar while the bass has a nice contrasting sound of punchiness. The vocals are not too flashy but instead coincides perfectly with the sound and rest of the band. All parts have enough grit and personality that eventually meshes together to create a badass sound of their own. Acting Captain will continually pave the way for a new generation of rock n roll music leaving their mark in the genre. Reminiscent of their predecessors, this band takes it a step further using innovative sound and ideas. Listen to Acting Captain's edgy single "On The Rocks", and keep scrolling for an exclusive interview with the band! Hey guys! Can you tell us a little about how did the band came together? The core members of Acting Captain have all been playing music together for 15 years. Two of the members are cousins! We're all best friends and have had a long history of performing with different bands around Salem,Oregon where we grew up. Acting Captain came about simply because we can't stop playing rock and roll music. It runs through our veins. What is the creation/writing process like with Acting Captain? It is a very collaborative writing process. Someone will come in with a rough structure of a song or a riff and we all finish writing it together. Even with the song lyrics we are all throwing around different ideas. The process allows us to show our own seperate personalities within the music. What is the message you want to get across to your fans and listeners with your new song "On the Rocks"? On The Rocks is a party song. Plain and simple. Life is short so get out there and have some fun! What are your future plans for the band and your music? We plan to do some West Coast touring this year. Our new album was just released last month so we want to keep the momentum going strong into this new year. In addition to playing shows we also will be writing our next batch of songs. There may be another music video on the way! What was the idea behind “On The Rocks”? This high energy song started with a riff that we all loved and everything quickly fell into place. On The Rocks is a throwback to the "no frills" rock and roll swagger of our favorite bands. Think Led Zeppelin meets Queens of The Stone Age. There is a tongue- in -cheek attitude to this one and the lyrics should be taken with a grain of salt. It's all about letting loose and living in the moment. • Give A Listen To Misty Rosas "Paper House"

Misty Rosas is a creative, a multifaceted artist who doesn’t believe in limitations. She has defined all odds and is truly living her dream. If you’re wondering who this wanderlust and nomadic hustler is, then she’s a singer/songwriter/recording artist/dancer/actress/an expert costume performer/a motion capture artist/a stuntwoman and a Bikram Yoga teacher (a Jack of all trades right)? Misty released her mystic single titled “Paper House”. The song begins with an immediate nonexclusive and encyclopedic sound that’s going to have you stunned by the sensation she gives! Misty Rosas vocal tone is so classic and legendary it really stands out on the backtrack of the music. It’s the raspy and full toned warmth to her voice. You can tell she spent a lot of time honing in on her skills and enhancing her vocal ability due to how solid the foundation of her voice is. "Paper House" is an intricate record with a detailed hook that thrives off of the dramatics and augmentation in the instrumental, alongside Misty’s transitioning vocal registers from low to high. In my opinion, "Paper House" represents Misty Rosas vocal style highly well. It has a way of adding an extra emphasis on the music. Remember to check out "Paper House" on Spotify, and get to know Misty through her exclusive interview below! Hi Misty! Great to chat with you! Can you tell us a bit more about you? Hello!  Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity!  I am very excited and honored to be interviewed by Buzz Music L.A.! I am a multifaceted entertainer.  I'm a music artist/singer-songwriter, and I am also an actor, dancer, suit performer, motion capture artist, stunt woman, and Bikram Yoga teacher, as well as a practicing yogi.  In a nutshell, I am a Creative. Paper House seems to have a unique approach on songwriting. How would you lyrically summarize the meaning behind the song? Paper House is metaphorical.  It is about the shame we carry on the inside, all the while trying so desperately to make the outside appear to be strong, pretty and perfect.  It is about the illusion.  If you don't learn how to take care of yourself and nurture your own heart and soul from the inside out, it won't matter how pretty or perfect you look on the outside, your inside will remain hollow.  Your perception of yourself will be warped, and many poor choices will be made causing a lot of heartbreak and disillusionment.  My lyric, "her hands tied to beautiful lies", encapsulates the message of the song.  I know it's cliche, but I do believe that true beauty is born from the inside out!  For me, the place I feel most peaceful and most comfortable/beautiful in my own skin is just after practicing yoga!  My heart is wide open!  No makeup!  My hair in a sweaty clump on top of my head!  I'm a Hot Mess ...in a good way!  Actually, the yoga room is where most of my songs are born! If you could describe your music style in 3 adjectives what would it be and why? My music style is lyrically empowering, driving, and inspiring.  The melodies I create are inspired by the words and the message I am trying to convey in a song.  Each one unique to itself.  My style is an eclectic mix of melodic ballads and uptempo pop songs.  I write from my own life experience, my struggles, and my heartbreak.  I have shared about all my personal demons in my songwriting, and my music videos.  Shame is a powerful thing!  It can rob you of your joy, and your ability to live the life of your dreams.  It has taken me a very long time, and a lot of work to be here now, living the life of my dreams!  For me, I share my life's story because I want to connect with people that may be struggling with similar challenges!  I want people to feel like their struggles are valid, and I want them to know that they are not alone!  And if this severely hearing impaired, little person can do it, SO CAN YOU!  THERE ARE NO LIMITS! Who are a few of your musical influences that have helped shape your career in music? My musical influences, oh there are so many!  Here are the most prominent in my life:  Air Supply, Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Alanis Morissette, Tina Turner, Adele, The Bee Gees, Etta James, Patsy Cline, Faith Hill, Shania Twain, Madonna, Prince, Cheap Trick, The Foo Fighters, Pink, Johnny Mathis, etc., etc., etc.. What’s next for you through 2019? What's next for me in 2019?  As a singer-songwriter/actor, my ultimate goal is to place Paper House in a movie as a theme song!  It is such a profoundly powerful moment to experience when an actor is going through a life-changing moment in a scene, and that incredible moment is accompanied by the swell of the music and the lyrics of a powerful, impactful song!  To be a part of such a creation, that would be my ultimate dream come true as an artist! I am also working on my next EP.  I'm currently writing new songs on my own, as well as with my music producing partners Paul Bushnell and Paul Graham.  I will be performing more live shows this summer with my bandmates and dancers, and singing onstage as often as I can as a guest artist with different bands throughout L.A. and Orange County.  My Facebook music page, @MistyRosasMusic, is the best place to get up to date information about my gigs, new songs, and merch.! I've had the rare privilege and pleasure to experience the emotional effect that Paper House has had on my female friends.  After listening to the song most of them start crying and talking all at the same time because they are so overwhelmed by the intense feelings the song brings up for them!  To experience that release with them means the world to me!  It is a special moment that brings tears to my eyes too!  As an artist, the creative and emotional connection to others is everything! I wish you the courage to really go after your BIG dreams!  Patience with your heart because the process can be terrifying at first! (It's okay to take it slow!)  Persistence and perseverance to take the long journey, make lots of mistakes, but keep going!  And always lead with love and kindness, because you just don't know what kind of battle a person is going through at any given moment! Dejuan Dangerfield, otherwise known by his stage name Dane, is originally from Chicago and eventually relocated to Los Angeles in his teenage years. Dejuan hopes to share his life experience, struggles, and goals through his music to his listeners. Eventually, Dane hopes to incorporate a live band to his performances for a more authentic experience and has sworn to devote his heart and soul in sharing his music for those who will listen. A cool vibe and sound introduces us to the track, “You Special” that perfectly aligns without 2019’s sound of music. As the song progresses, there are hints of throwback sounds to the early 2000’s R&B along with a touch of 2019’s pop and upbeat music. The song itself is upbeat and grooving as Dane sings about a girl that he believes is the one for him. There is no doubt that this is a love song, but Dane is able to bring a new sound to a theme as old as time The production quality along with Dane’s vocals are solid in itself and are sure to catch people’s attention once aired on Radio or streamed on SoundCloud. Dane will make your playlist pop with his throwback sound to the 2000s while making a sound of his own. Catch Dane's "You Special" on SoundCloud, and get to know the artist through his personalized interview below! Hello! Can you tell the BuzzMusic community a little about yourself and your music career? Hey, I'm Dane a local artist in the San Fernando Valley hit originally from Chicago IL.  I was raised in the chorus as a Tenor and didn’t really venture into Hip-Hop until I was like 13 or 14.  I’ve been making music ever since!  I developed over time a passion to write and sing and produce most of my music because early on I could afford to have someone to produce my beat so along with my Buddy Neil aka Slim Duckey we started producing out if my apartment.  This project A Conduit of Light is purely us from the snare to the lead melody we created it all ourselves.  I want to reach the stars by working as hard as I can on what I love. What motivates you and drives you to make music for other people? Well, my passion and motivation isn’t specifically for other people I make music that reflects my past, current and hopefully future experience.  So i’m hoping there are people out there that have went through some of the things i’ve been through in life and therefore they can relate to and enjoy my sound. What is something you want your listeners to take away from your track, “You Special”? It’s a track talking about the girl you want to pay attention to you but don’t know how to specifically ask. Its also an ode to the islands who originate alot of popular music and never really get any recognition.  I want the listener to enjoy the song and know each and every women we meet in life is special. How long did it take you to write “You Special”? A week!  I wanted to get the lyrics just right to convey my emotion because this song is amazing to me. Did you experience any challenges in the creation process of "You Special"? Not really anything that warrants a response mainly just creating the song wasn’t the easiest thing trying to create an island feel while staying true to my R&B roots was probably the hardest thing. • Hot New Band Alert! Black Lyon Releases Debut Single "Down Down"

Based on trap beats, pop production, and film orchestral music, the self-produced song "Down Down" is Black Lyon's debut single. The song is a window into what is like to be in a relationship that's about to go 'down' because both parties are blinded by their own side. It’s a relatable record because many people can find themselves on a sinking ship in their relationship and be unsure if it has any future or hold any more strength to carry on. The energy for the whole song has that cinematic approach but delivered in a subtle way with delicate yet expressive melancholic emotions that can help connect with listeners. “Down Down” delves mainly into the dark side of human sentiments, sticking to the whole overall artistry of the artist Black Lyon. They explore the subject of misconnections and lack of love you and another person sometimes can for one another. The song is also highly dream-like as i found myself daydreaming into the music and vividly painting images that matched the intellectual and metaphorical lyricism. “Down Down” is a unique hit that served relatable lyrics alongside an eerie but interesting mix of sounds. Be sure to check out "Down Down", and get to know the band a little better through their exclusive interview below! Why did you guys decide to call yourselves Black Lyon? Barbara: Lyon for its connection with the history of cinema and for it being the capital of lights. We wanted to capture light and darkness in a powerful and dramatic way, so those words went together perfectly. Alex: It was a symbolic way of showing even a place such as the capital of the lights has a dark side.  A good metaphor to display how everybody has a degree of darkness within, and that’s alright. We just have to accept it, it’s there for a reason. That’s what Black Lyon stands for. What bands have influenced your music style? Alex: Several bands and artists have influenced what we do. We could start mentioning Sia’s powerful hooks, she is such a good songwriter. Also, the way Lana del Rey and Clean Bandit mix strings with pop is very astonishing and is something we truly like, but we go more towards a cinematic sound when it comes to string writing. Artist such as Lykke Li and Billie Eilish have also influenced a bit the way in which we capture a dark sound in our music. Also, trap beats and the contemporary urban sound does influence our creative process a lot. But personally, there’s also a lot of Soda Stereo and Gustavo Cerati when I write guitar lines and the sound I get. Barbara: There’s influence coming from all over the place from our different backgrounds and cultures, but I feel there’s a mixture of pop and rock going on – I listen to a lot of Rival Sons, Arcade Fire, Portugal. The Man, old-time bands and artists like Fleetwood Mac, Supertramp and Deep Purple,  David Bowie and so on. Then there’s the film score aspect of it that also plays a big part in our influences coming from composers like Max Steiner, John Williams, and Alexandre Desplat. How challenging was it to jump start your career? Ece: It is all about how much you want to give, how passionate and patient you are. Barbara: Quite challenging but not in a way that took away the joy of the ride. Moving from a different country and going through different waves of learning experiences one by one made time go by so quickly – but I guess that is key: going through everything one step at a time and believing in the process while surrounding yourself with great people. Did you have any challenges in the creation process of 'Down Down"? Barbara: Hell yeah! Producing a song is a big investment of money and time. We got a lot of talented people that helped us out in the process and we’re truly grateful. We also tried to record my vocals through a Darth Vader mask that had vocal effects and everything. Big challenge. Didn’t work out very well. Alex: It was our first song together so we had to learn how each one of us reacted to a sound, to a word, to an instrument. There was a basic idea of where we wanted to go, we had several demos (some of them terrible, some were better), but we were not fully sure of how to get there. We knew we wanted the dramatic sound of strings over trap beats, and that was going to be a challenge. Luckily enough we are four producers in a band and 3 of us also write music for films for a living. We put a lot of time into the production of the beat and the string arrangement. That was a good starting point. After that, the rest came naturally. There was a lot of people helping us since the beginning and we are truly thankful to them too. Who does the songwriting? Or do you all contribute? Alex: We all work together. Sometimes one of us could have an idea for a song and then we all start developing that idea. Last Thursday we had a jam in my living room and we started working on a song, the main ideas came from Barbara but we will all work on it together. We even created a shared Google folder in which we would ideally share voice notes, but we realized Whatsapp was more effective and faster for everybody to reply and make comments. At the end of the day, regardless of who has the main idea for a song, it will be Black Lyon’s song. Keep up to date with Black Lyon through the bands website! #BuzzMusic

  • Leah Keane Stuns Us With "The Way"

The folk singer/songwriter we have been waiting for! From San Diego, CA, Leah Keane shocks us with the authenticity her voice brings. Her sound delivery is flawless, smooth and incredibly rich. Being musically diverse, Keane plays a variety of her own instruments within her songs, and accompanied by her unique sound is a melody you never knew was missing in your life—until now, of course. “Selfie Sweetie” was Keane’s EP released late January, with five beautifully curated songs gifted to us. “The Way” starts off with soulful vocals by Keane that immediately gave us goosebumps (we weren’t lying with the title). This artist undoubtedly captivates us with her blissful melodies in “The Way”—a song expressing an aspect of melancholic longing to find ones self, which is definitely a concept we all resonate with at some point in our lives. Keane’s flowing dynamics are evidently effortless, as they flow from one verse to the other with the utmost grace. Keane’s overall sound in this ballad stays with you for a while—it’s one of those songs that truly confounded with us. Keane’s passion is definitely what sets “The Way” apart from other ballads that lack the distinct genuity this song clearly embodies. Add Leah's “The Way” to your Spotify playlist, and don't forget to scroll down for the artist's exclusive interview! Care to introduce yourself to our readers? Hello everyone! My name is Leah Keane and I am a singer/songwriter from San Diego, California. I enjoy hanging out with friends, carne asada fries, and singing for strangers! At an early age I showed a love for music. My parents started me with piano lessons at age three thus guaranteeing music would forever be a part of my life. I was the kind of kid who new all the words to every nursery rhyme, Disney song, radio commercial etc. I participated in a couple school plays growing up that made me realize I could conquer my stage fright and reap the rewards. I attended the University of California San Diego, majoring in Economics and minoring in Music. It wasn’t until after college that I began this musical journey, and I am so grateful I took those first steps. Can you give us a brief history of your musical career? In the summer of 2016 I quit my day job as an Estimator for a Contracting Management Firm in order to pursue music. I began my journey by taking guitar lessons, some vocal coaching, and spending many sleepless nights wondering what the heck I was doing. Flash forward to present day and I have: original music on Spotify, I play the guitar, ukulele and piano, and I perform all around San Diego County. I’ve had the opportunity to travel to Ireland in 2017 and 2018 where I performed in pubs and drank a bit too much! I am excited for everything 2019 will have to offer; already this year I released my very first EP Selfie Sweetie available on iTunes, Spotify, Google play and other streaming services! Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style? I do write my own music! All five songs on my EP I wrote and performed. Most of my songs begin with an instrumental lick or pattern that I repeat and perfect. Sometimes the words come easy, and other times I find myself humming a melody with no clue where it’s going. In these moments, I refer back to my notes where I have written down poems, phrases, or concepts for inspiration. I simply play with these lines until something sticks. I have learned to never force a song. If I come up with something great lyrically but haven’t found the right melody then I take a step back and revisit it a few weeks later. The best songs I find are the most organic- the ones that come pouring out of you as if you’d known the words your whole life! We love your new song "The Way"! Can you tell us a bit about it? The Way is a perfect example of a truly organic experience. I wrote “The Way” on a blustery Monday and went into the studio that Wednesday to record it. It only took three takes for me to get the version you hear on my EP. I think that’s why people enjoy it so much- it’s raw and real. Some of the songs we decided to take the instrumental track first and then later add the vocals. The Way is a performance; I just sat down and poured my heart out. Where did the inspiration behind the song come from? I grew up in a small country town in east San Diego County called Julian- population 1500. It attracts tourists every year for its country beauty, small town experience and apple pie. The day I wrote “The Way” I was back at my parent’s house watching the oak trees sway violently in the Santa Ana winds… and it resonated with me. I was going through a period of unexpected change. A lifestyle and relationship I had worked on for nearly five years reached a dead end and I felt vulnerable and frustrated. I found myself thinking “if only I could press a pause button on life maybe I would be able to take a deep breath and figure out what the heck I am supposed to do now”. So The Way poured out of me- I wrote it in an hour. I think it resonates with people because haven’t we all gone through a time period where we simply don’t know what our next step should be? I believe half the battle is admitting you’re lost and asking “Dear Miss Mother Mountain” which way do I go now? What are three things you’d love your fans to know about you? 1) I have consumed gallons of cookie dough in my lifetime and have never once been sick from it. So don’t let your mamas stop you from being happy- eat the dough! 2) I’m a total nerd. I’m a math tutor, I’ve read the Harry Potter series at least five times, I grew up watching Star Trek with my mom…anyone want to play Settlers of Catan? 3) I’d love my fans to know how much I appreciate their support. I am so grateful for every stranger who’s come up to me to say a kind word at a farmer’s markets. And to all of my followers who have shared my EP with their friends, thank you! Any upcoming shows? For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you describe your performance? If you’re interested in seeing me perform live you can visit my website leahkeane.com and go to “events” to see where I am playing next! I perform for many local wineries- in March I’ll be at Vineyrad Grant James, Solterra Winery and Kitchen and more! My gigs are the perfect escape; bring a friend, sip some wine and let me serenade you! What’s next for you through 2019? I am super excited to begin working with a band this year. We’ve got our sights on bigger shows and plan on releasing a full- length album by the end of the year. Stay tuned! • Rock Out To Wily Savage's "Snowblower"

When you envision Rock n Roll what is it that you envision? What’s the sound you imagine? What if we told you that an independent rock trio formed in Hollywood CA in 2017, called “Wily Savage” can bring your visions to light. With the release of their single titled “Snowblower". Wily Savage emphasizes on any singular idea of rock music. Blending all the founding elements while fusing in new contemporary sounds, Wily Savage manufactured a smashing hit that weaves between the lines of badass and careless. Each member in this trio plays an important role in constructing the perfect hit song. Singer and guitarist Alon Burton brings powerfully precise vocal intensity, coupled with provocative and mindful lyrical content to serenade you in an electrifying manner while capturing your focus on the lyricism. Bassist, Martin Bo Jarski, is a classically trained European musician and composer, (British Academy of New Music, Krakow School of Jazz and Popular Music) bringing a tour de force writing style that transcends genre and seamlessly weaves together style and technique (pretty cool right?)-- he adds a specific and unique flavor to the sound that’s never been done before. And lastly, Drummer, Jeremy Morrow, is the backbone of the group, with his high energy and progressive style. He is a controlled explosion, and a force to be reckoned with! All together they unite as one fusion of music maniacs to bring you unforgettable hits like “Snowblower”. “Snowblower” begins with the intensified guitar riffs in the beginning before the boisterous and emphatic vocals transitions in, setting off an unstable and eruptive energy through your body! Perfect for any of you adrenaline rush junkies who loves listening to certain songs that can serve as a musical vitamin for whatever mood you’re in at the time! "Snowblower" is undeniably one of the most hard-hitting and discordant records I’ve heard in awhile! The vocalist knows how to keep the balance between brashful and chaotic, but melodically remaining on key with the chords from the guitarist and rhythm from the drummist.  You will be immensely attracted to a genre of music you may not have been appealed to previously, thanks to Wily Savage! From living in their cars with no connections to speak of, they’ve quickly cut their teeth on, and became a staple of the reinvigorated Sunset Strip rock scene. Be sure to check out Wily Savage on Spotify, and catch the artist's exclusive interview below! Hey Wily Savage! We love how you guys each contribute a special and unique factor to the trio. Were you three pursuing solo careers before coming together? Alon, Jeremy and I were in another project together for nearly 8 years, after moving to LA and living in our cars for a while we started to establish ourselves in the Sunset Strip rock scene. A victim of culture shock and surrounded by drug addled sycophants, cocaine enhanced narcissism destroyed our band mate’s ability to work with others and our band fell apart. After an extended bout with depression, Jeremy and I decided to get off our asses and play some music together. Thus, Wily Savage was born. We we’re intent on enjoying music once more and made plans to meet up at Cascade Rehearsal Studios the following day. That night I went and wrote our first song “Snowblower” and we’ve not stopped since. Jeremy and I continued to play for a few months as a two piece and then we met this crazy European bassist at the Rainbow Bar. He was fresh on the scene from Chicago and looking for a band. I was a little hesitant at first, but, we tried it out and it just worked. Martin, Jeremy and I meshed musically, and, more importantly, ideologically. What’s the most fulfilling aspect in creating hit songs together? When it all just comes together and you’re like “I guess that’s a song now”. I really love when the inspiration hits, like it comes from some other dimension and the song just posses me. I really feel like most of the songs I’ve written have really just written themselves. The ones that haven’t just flowed out of me end up feeling contrived and subsequently get the chopping block. Really, the whole process is what we live for. Have you guys had a chance to perform live yet? If so which has been your favorite venue thus far! We have played many shows over the past year and a half, but, we’ve found a bit of a home at The Whisky A Go Go. The owners and staff have been extremely supportive and have given us incredible opportunities to open for national acts and even headline our own shows! We owe them a huge thank you for letting us cut our teeth in the venue that housed some of our biggest influences. We are honored to be part of a reinvigoration of the Sunset Strip revival! What is the meaning behind “Snowblower” ? Snowblower is about cocaine and how it makes people think they’re impervious, important and that their shit don’t stink. It’s about a bunch of gacked out douche bags name dropping and telling you all the things that they can do for you, to no avail. It’s about being a shitty person and how it all inevitably crumbles. It’s also a fun party rock song you can dance to. Can we expect you guys to switch gears and ever deliver a subtle rock ballad? Actually, our first single, Breathe Easy (on all major platforms), is exactly that and we have a newer sudo-ballad  protest song called Red Caps that we hope to record soon! We definitely glean influences from a multitude of musical genre and styles, so, you’ll hear some diversity throughout our sets. What's next for the band through 2019? We will be releasing our EP and commencing our first west coast tour in April and the plan is to tour the US as much as possible this year and get to Japan and Europe next year. We’re back in the studio to record our next Single “Panic” and an accompanying music video for an early summer release. Based out of New York City, Lachi is a dance-pop/EDM recording artist and songwriter who has worked with Snoop Dog and Trance as well as DnB tracks with Markus Schulz’s and Dutch DJ Maduk. Lachi’s genre of music is an intricate blend that can range from EDM, Pop and Soul. Lachi’s track titled, “What I Want (Dat Body)” was inspired by the emerging occurrence of women who have challenged politics and being outspoken by challenging what is deemed as social norms. Adding to this, Lachi is a proponent for the pro-ability movement and generally sings uplifting and empowering songs. The song is high energy and has kind of a tropical house beat to it with a signature EDM sound to it while also blurring the lines of Pop and Reggae. Lachi’s vocals are distinctive and powerful just like the everyday women she continually empowers through her music and lyrics. The xylophone is really cool giving it a unique vibe while contrasting with the EDM buildup and beats.Another distinguishing sound from the track is the looping of a melody played on what seems to be some sort of flute. Altogether Lachi knows how to get your spirits lifted while making a bop for everyone to enjoy. Listen to "What I Want (Dat Body) here. The song begins with its striking electric guitar chords with progression you become immensely obsessed with. The vocals had this ear-piercing sound you may be familiarized with. When people like myself who normally doesn’t listen to rock music thinks about the genre of rock we usually think of the hardcore metal the media has portrayed the genre to be. However, the genre of rock is so diverse and split into many subcultures where it’s fascinating to hear a slight blend between two styles of rock in one rock hit and I believe that’s the fusion noticeable in “Gypsy”. “Gypsy” has your typically loud and chaotic vocals however the instrumental melody adds an element of softness to the brashful song. When you listen to “Gypsy” you can abundantly jam to the popular chords while subduedly enjoying the lyricism delivered in an energetic and charismatic manner! Give a listen to Hologram Empire's "Gypsy" and catch their exclusive interview below! Hey guys, care to introduce yourself to our readers? We are Hologram Empire! A New Age Alternative Rock band that loves to party! How did “Hologram Empire” form? Hologram Empire is the product of the best musicians of broken up high school and college bands put together into one band that consists of people who are passionate about life, love, music and parties. How has it been creating music and performing together? Creating music is our escape from the world. We get to be kids again that make pillow forts around our kick drums and amps. Art is the most beautiful way of expressing emotion. As for performing live, again, WE LOVE TO PARTY! Tell us a little bit about this album, what else can we expect from “Spirit Animals” ? Spirit Animals is a lot heavier than our previous albums. We wanted it to sound like a chaotic rock party. We got set back in the release date due to the loss of our dog Chico. He was our little roadie. Always following us as we loaded our gear on the truck before gigs. Why did you select “Gypsy” to be one of the leading singles? We selected Gypsy to be our single because we have the honor of working with Craig Owens on the song. He is helping us push our limits in the creation process and has a very cool vocal part in the song as well. How was it collaborating with Craig Owens on "Gypsy"? What made you choose Craig as a feature on your new single? I sent the song over to Craig last year hoping he would love it and want to help us work on it. Sometimes dreams come true! We are still in the creation process and hope to share the final product with everyone very soon! What can we expect from Hologram Empire in 2019? You can expect a lot of dope parties and rock&roll from us this year! Keep up to date with the latest on Hologram Empire through the bands socials: Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Heartbreaker Marzboygenius Released His Trendy Record “Broken Hearts”

Marzboygenius is a rapper, hip-hop artist, producer, and songwriter born and raised in New York City.  Although he also loves to create music in the genre he likes to call ‘hybrid-pop’, he more so identifies himself in the realm of alternative hip-hop. As a genuine musician, Marz’ passion for creating and producing began at a very young age when he made original music for a band he had in high school, playing and teaching himself the drums and the bass guitar. Today, his music and style intertwine perfectly and as as fluidly as his raps and beats. He released his single titled “Broken Hearts” and he got the swag, sound and overall full package that’s going to curate him as a trendy artist. Marzboygenius comes out the door swinging with a hit record. The beat to “Broken Hearts” is what’s selling now. This current generation is a huge fan of the hard-hitting bass and a beat that could you blast on your car stereo, and “Broken Hearts” delivered that. A witty and repetitive lyricism that Marzboygenius was able to customize and detail it up with slight autotune while he projects his appealing flow was the way to create a mainstream appeal to his artistry. “I feel like I got a broken heart” “I feel like I might have broke your heart” he sings before his catchy bars comes in. after listening to this song I became interested on the type of artist Marzboygenius would be live. You become more intrigued with the artist and how he would deliver this song in person without the added on detail to the vocals. All in all, Marzboygenius has a hit record on his belt that could generate amazing buzz and translate well across this current era of hip-hop lovers. Catch Marzboygenius' new hit "Broken Hearts" on Spotify, and catch the artist's short (but sweet) interview below! Marzboygenius is a unique name, how did you come up with it? Care to tell our readers a little about yourself and your musical journey? I came up with that name when I was 13 because my name is Omari so thats where I got 'Marz' from and I was 13 so thats where the 'boygenius' is from. How did your New York upbringing influence you choosing music as your career? It wasn't really New York that influenced me it was more of just my family being very musically influenced that made me want to make music. We love your new song "Broken Hearts"! What inspired you to write “Broken Hearts”? Life experiences with certain relationships I let go of was my reasoning behind writing the songs. Were there any challenges during the creation process of "Broken Hearts"? Not really any struggles with making the song at all the process was pretty stressless. Do you have any music favorites right now? Who are you listening too? My favorite song right now is Gunna and Carti 'Same Young Nigga' its been on repeat for me I love the feeling of it. Have you performed live yet? Any specific city or venue you want to perform at? I have a couple times I want to perform in the 4040 club that would be lit or the Highline Ballroom. I would perform in any city.
