- Kosmonauts Create "Falling Apart"
Rhythmic drum kicks and electric powerhouse vocals and detailed guitar riffs is just the combination that creates a dynamic band called Kosmonauts. Kosmonauts released their single titled “Falling Apart” and we don’t know which gives us the better sensation! Their highly energetic instrumental skills or widely diverse vocal range? Maybe you can figure that one out for yourself. However, we can break down this riveting piece into sections for you to determine what you love most about it! Starting with them electrifying vocals. Kosmonauts has a classic vocal delivery that reminds me much of those popular rock jams back in the early days of 2000’s when in my opinion, rock music was thriving the most. Kosmonauts adenoidal resonance and foghorn projection was perfectly fitting for the record. The instrumental consistently keeps a steady fast tempo thanks to the explosive drumming. The drummer has a big job due to the fact that they’re pretty much one of the foundations for carrying the record forward (along with the guitars and vocalist of course) and they nonetheless succeeded in “Falling Apart”. Kosmonauts is a talented band that knows how to curate rocking hits and weave the line between classic and contemporary mainstream that will skyrocket them as a timeless hit! Remember to check out Kosmonauts "Falling Apart" on Spotify, and scroll down for their personalized interview! Hey guys, can you introduce yourselves to our readers? We're a 4 piece band from Mancester, United Kingdom. Who met online back in 2016 and since been together forming strong friendships, creating songs between us for everyone to enjoy. We are Rob Snarr (Vocals), Dean Chadwick (Drums), Callum Hollingsworth (Bass) and Kieran Wilkinson (Guitar). Knowing you guys formed in Manchester, how is the music scene over there? The music scene in Manchester is like any other major city competition amongst bands small and large to get yourself heard. We’re really proud to say that we’re from Manchester where many inspirational bands made the music industry what it is today. Although we feel like there is responsibility amongst bands to ensure the music industry doesn’t die in Manchester because a lot of our venues have been shutting down recently. How different is “Falling Apart” from your previous releases including “When We Were Young”? Falling apart is one of our favorite songs which we had a lot of fun recording the record. Compared to our earlier releases, we feel our music has progressed because of the band maturing together so our writing has followed suit. Becoming comfortable in the studio environment has helped progress the sound produced, through more experimentation and with more time we only this will continue. Falling Apart displays our writing capabilities individually and as a group, each combining our influences to form what it is now. Do you guys have any musical influences? If so, who? Our influences vary massively as each of us listen to different music so we’ve each decided to list a couple of our recent influences… Dean - Anberlin / Oceano Callum - JAWS / The Night Cafe Kieran - ISLAND / Tom Misch Rob - Foals / Arctic Monkeys - What was the creation process like for "Falling Apart"? For ‘Falling Apart’ as every song we go into the studio, experimenting and focusing on the smaller aspects that we feel make our songs stand out, and with the help of our producer, we're pushed to making our songs sound as best as we can. We recently decided to embrace this more Indie Pop sound and incorporate it into our music which our producer has helped execute. Rob explains in the song how it feels to be in an outsiders view on a failing relationship. Rather than being about the actual pain suffered it’s the anguish you feel for a couple that you can see are breaking down. A relationship that you also want to try to revive but the only option you see feasible is to part ways and start a fresh. What’s next for Kosmonauts? Next for KOSMONAUTS is wherever the ‘wave’ takes us after this latest release. We’re going to be releasing more and more new songs so make sure you keep your eyes and ears peeled for them! Check out Kosmonauts on Instagram to keep up to date with the latest on the duo! #BuzzMusic

True to their name, The Right Offs are poised and energized for what's next, and as a result, right where they belong. What’s up CONNECTICUT! I am still rocking out to this track. I mean where do I start! That intro with the classic drum stick countdown is one of my favorite things about rock and roll. The vocals are one you will never forget. There is so much strength in this bands sound. I love the chorus. How his voice changes during “Fire in a Theatre” and at the end of theatre there is a slight vocal run and I am here for it! There really isn’t anything to not love about this track. Amazing guitar strings and dope drumming makes this one for the book! Be sure to give a listen to "Fire In a Theatre" and scroll down to check out the group's exclusive interview! Hey guys! Would you mind introducing yourselves to our readers? Sure thing. We’re a three-piece rock ’n roll outfit from New Haven, CT. Our current lineup has been around for almost two years, Max Omer on vocals and guitar, Than Rolnick on bass and backup vocals, and Bob Rock holds down the beat and makes us look good. We’re all about writing great songs and going for the gusto on stage every single time. What is the music scene like in Connecticut? We’d call it vibrant and robust. It’s a small state but the quality more than makes up for any lack of quantity. There are some amazingly talented, genuine, generous, hard-working people here making all kinds of music, and the cozy size of things makes for a great community vibe. There are also some fantastic venues that get a lot of great touring acts. Why did you guys choose rock and roll as your genre of music? We’ve all loved rock music since we were tykes. It’s such a wide-open genre, there’s always another artist to learn about past and present. It’s within reach of simpletons like us, but it can be as complicated and creative as you could want. What is the story behind the track “Fire In The Theatre”? Fire in a Theatre is about words and speech with respect to location, time and space. To say the name "Macbeth" in a theatre is bad luck for actors... but not if that's the play you're putting on. It’s also a ridiculously fun song to play. What can we hope to see from you in the future? Bigger, better, more. This is a very exciting time for us! We have a full-length album planned, videos, touring. The Right Offs are expanding our scope in every way possible. Stay connected with The Right Offs through their website and social media: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
- Jdubbz Releases New Hit "Digital"
Jalen Jamison, otherwise referred to as Jdubbz is the founder of the independent record label based out of White Plains, New York. Jdubbz’s creative endeavours don’t stop at just music in which he has set out to start his own clothing line, men’s fragrance, and even an alcoholic beverage. Jdubbz understands that talent doesn’t win an artist much anymore, it has to do with the resources and connections that one has in the music industry. Currently, Jamison has a digital distribution deal through one of Sony Music’s minor subsidiaries. A sound of hip hop beats and somewhat futuristic sounds makes the track “Digital” a for sure addition to your playlist. It has a tasteful flow to it in which it co aligns to current hip hopmusic. A solid beat with a piano melody creates a solid atmosphere with breaks in between leaving you on edge for the next beat. Jdubbz use of words gives an edgy feel and a frisky vibe. Jdubbz takes hip hop music and ideals, and ties it neatly into this song with his own touches of production. One thing you don’t expect is the harmonic “oo” towards the end of the song which eventually fades into silence. “Digital” has a cool and fun vibe to it that will attract all types of listeners. Add a vibe to your Spotify playlist with Jdubbz's "Digital", and catch Jdubbz interview below to read about his independent label and the meaning behind his latest track! What caused you to start your own independent label? Before a major entity will consider an asset, they need to see that the asset can generate revenue at even the most basic level without intervention from a major entity. Aside from that, remaining independent offers you certain freedoms that you may not be entitled to while under contract. Im not restricted creatively, or held up when I want to release something. I also own all of my publishing & masters. What is the concept behind “Digital”? Digital quite plainly explains the society that we currently live in. Everything is digital. You dont need to go to the mall, or the grocery store anymore. You can digitally order it from anywhere. You dont have to interact with people in person, or even be seen as who you really are, because these perceptions are delivered through a digital medium. It started off as just a joke one day when my girlfriend and I were discussing this topic. I just happened to say it to the beat and it sounded catchy, so we went along with it. How do you create the piano melody that repeats during the song? JacobLethalBeatz (awesome producer) is actually the one who created the beat, and therefore the melody also. The harmony that I created was done the same was as on every other track. Its hard to explains, but the beats talk/sing to me, and I just respond back. Its like a conversation. What first got you into creating music? My family has always been involved in the music industry. My father used to work with RCA/Motown Records, and has years of experience in the field. I grew up listening to a plethora of different artists which I think helped to facilitate my versatility. The first song I ever released was a song “She’s So Beautiful” in middle school. All of the girls loved it, and they all swore it was about them. After my voice dropped, I gave up singing, and switched over to rhyming. What are your future plans with your music and your label? We love what you're doing with your career and can't wait to hear what's next from you! My goal is to be a leading force in this new age that both the entertainment industry, and world are going into. I have ideas further than music, such as: my clothing line(Lowlyfe™), men's fragrance, and even an alcoholic beverage. I also have many other business ventures that I plan to expand on once its the right time. Im hoping to be acquired within the next 6 months by a major entity, and have at least 3 hits on the Billboard 100 by Quarter 4. I currently have multiple singles, and full completed projects being worked on and finished up; so, expect more soon! - Alternative Band Trampoline Gives Us "Emily's Tea Party"
Anti-rock band Trampoline was founded in the summer of 2014. The band’s sound is characterized by the idiosyncratic and evocative songwriting of Michelle Lennik (guitarist and vocalist) and the creative feedback between Steve Martens (Drums and vocals) as well with Joey Penner (bass and vocals). The band’s choice of arrangement bring together cinematic elements as well as punk, indie rock and progressive blending styles. Powered by satirical and playful lines while containing heartfelt emotion, Trampoline uses their music to explore the realms of the human experience. A quirky sound of alternative music is “Emily’s Tea Party”. A solid and punchy bassline is leading the track , littered with guitar riffs that flow like a rock song yet have a soft and upbeat touch when the breaks intervene. The lyrics contrast greatly with the mood of the song, speaking about murder and a spoken part of “God was there at the tea party” and “May I evil murder, be evil you done her” give a twisted tale that seems to tell of a deranged tea party. The band is nonetheless unique with their sound and execution. Trampoline brings a fresh take on alternative music and will continue to do so as long as they make music. Introduce yourself with Trampoline's "Emily's Tea Party" on Spotify, and be sure to check out the band's interview below! Can you explain the meaning of “Emily’s Tea Party” and the concept behind it? The song Emily's Tea Party juxtaposes the rage one can experience towards those who perpetrate violence against vulnerable people (in this case children) with the bliss that arises when that rage is is transcended and converted to compassion. What do you hope to accomplish with your music? We would like to get it out of our heads and out to a larger of group of people desiring music with original content that resonates deeply within them, that helps them connect to who they are and the world around them in a meaningful way. The hope is that subsequent listens will bring some laughter, some hand claps and some pelvic thrusts. Can you explain what anti-rock music? I think that as soon as a genre becomes established there is an expectation of what a band/group is supposed to sound like. To some degree we kinda fit in the rock category but don't like any expectations of that genre put on us. I think a better summation of us is "unpredictable human beings making funny and thoughtful noise in an intentional and cohesive manner", but that's a mouthful. Is there any symbolism in the music video for “Emily’s Tea Party”? The sugar cube castle in the music video represents the structures we create in our minds to protect ourselves from real or imagined dangers in our environment. It is not uncommon for a child to dissociate and collapse into a world of darkness, divorced from their true essence that is "light". Consequently they may perceive the fear and pain inside of their bodies as monsters and demons outside of themselves, represented by the cloaked figure in the music video. But when the childhood conditioning is stripped away, what can be leftover but a tea party with God? Can you describe your writing process? Did you run into any challenges? Most of the time Michelle writes something, and maybe records it on garageband. We have a rehearsal of fleshing out ideas which often get recorded, then Steve starts adding things to this recording on an old version of cool edit pro, then Michelle adds things, parts are sometimes rearranged and then another rehearsal happens…. Joey typically addresses things that are working or not working in the rhythm section, then back editing, repeated listens, and other epiphanies emerge. The cycle repeats a number of times. What can we expect from you in the near future? This album could take us in a number of directions with touring, with alternative arrangements of these songs, and with subsequent music videos. The concept album approach also has some other options that are being looked into as well. At the same time we have been working on even newer songs. Some of these have been taken on an increasingly frantic orchestral approach. Stay connected with Trampoline through the bands social media: Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic
- The Desert Strikes Enticing Melodies With New Single "Bitterness"
Formed in Bristol by Gina Leonard and Tom Fryer The Desert are gaining rapid attention with their blistering, bitter-sweet, dark-pop world. With warm, weighted synths, perfectly placed percussion and a universe of otherworldly sounds, their cinematically beautiful sound is the perfect backdrop from where Gina Leonard masterfully unravels her poetic world. Gina’s delicate vocal resonance has this alluring sound that absolutely unravels you into the music where you are captured by the dark yet hauntingly beautiful energy the music has. There’s artists like Lana Del Rey who creates moments in her music. Each song Lana releases she fabricates a different setting, moment, and sensation which skyrocketed her into a major hit. All those hit making elements, image creating, and raw talent is noticeable in The Desert and I’d definitely encourage everybody to get involved with this tantalizing band. “Bitterness” is a serenading melody with eerie detail and high-pitched and striking vocal resonance. My favorite part about listening to this song is how augmented the vocals are, as if you’re listening to the song on 8D audio or you’re right there in the moment. It makes everything more realistic and pops the song out way more. Thanks to the talented vocalist and the extravagant instrumentalists, The Desert is the next big thing we can be on the lookout for! Catch the bands new track "Bitterness" on Spotify, and don't forget to scroll down to read their exclusive interview! It seems like you guys just effortlessly fused together a sound so unique and beautiful. Do you all share the same artistic vision? Thanks! We all bring a variety of tastes in music to the band. Jonny and Tom are into electronica, Gina listens to a fair bit of folk and Ryan, having worked in record stores for quite a few years, has a really broad taste in music and he's very up to date with what's current. We reckon this combination has really shaped our output , and in turn our artistic vision as we know what works together to create the band's sound. Word has it that you guys are heading from the UK over to the US for SXSW, how excited are you guys? Will this be your first time? You heard right yea -we can't wait! It's such an amazing opportunity to be able to head to the States. Sounds cheesy but it's genuinely a dream come true for all of us. It is our first time playing outside the UK and we're excited that we'll have the chance to share our live set with a wider audience. How would you describe the music you create? Melancholy alt-pop. Tell us a little bit about this collection of music on your Spotify, I heard a few other songs besides "Bitterness" including “Gone” and “Distract Me” and I was absolutely drawn to you guys. Do these songs have any specific meaning behind it? Cheers! The songs were written by Gina during and following a tricky relationship she was in. 'Gone' is about coming to terms with sudden loss and about the sadness and confusion that follows but also, more positively it's about freedom and excitement. Distract Me is about avoiding facing up to the truth/having to make a difficult decision - that gut feeling that haunts you. What’s next for the band? Once we're back from America it's time to crack on with our first album. Up until now the music has been self-produced (by Tom), but we're working with an outside producer on the album as our label (Funnel Music) thought this would help to focus us and get the best out of the songs that we've written. It will be different but it's an exciting challenge that we can't wait to get stuck into. Connect with The Desert through their website and socials: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
- Celia Palli Gives Us A Breath Of Fresh Air With New Album "Technicolours"
I used to work at a coffee shop in Toronto where one of Nelly Furtado’s dancers would come in to eat (as did metal bands like Sunn O) – but that’s another story). She even sent a very sweet postcard to the Italian owner one time. It makes me wonder if that kind soul ever interacted with this artist, Celia Palli, who was Furtado’s background singer around the same time. With the precise nature of this release you can’t help but wonder about the spin-off benefits of the bird-like Furtado machine. For Palli, those start with a serious shout-out. Celia Palli is blessed with serious songwriting skills and a unique and limber voice that carries the message,” Furtado says in release notes. “Whether in English or Spanish, Celia delivers poignant, effortless storytelling in her songs.” Palli’s first album dropped in October 2014 over in Spain, rocketing out of the gate with a strong 142,000 views for her “I’ll Be Fine” music video. She’s now joined up with producer duo Like Mind to record her second album “Technicolours” in Brooklyn, New York. “Complicity” – Don’t think of this in the SNL Ivanka Trump fragrance parody. This sounds much more innocent and much less devious. Essentially we’re talking about music that is pop to the bone. “It’s criminal, but that is all we know” could be ripped from a cheesy rap song, if the context were different. However, in this case, the chorus is jumpy and precise. It’s like a raspberry cream cheese on toast in the morning. “Paralyzed” – This is the kind of song that sounds so familiar somehow, even though you know you’ve never heard it before. This is definitely pseudo-dancefloor, radio-on-the-way-to-a-corporate-office-gig music. You can’t help but love the unique portamento between notes on the catchy chorus. It will be stuck inside your head before the song is over, I promise. “My Room” – This touches on the Top 40-bar soundscape popularized by the Weeknd and Ariana Grande. I can imagine tweens playing this on their phone while decorating the walls by their bed with posters of celebrity crushes. “Glitter” – Her voice is so touching and poignant in a muted fashion that I could almost confuse it with a gentle synthesizer hitting a slow-burn arpeggio function. It’s an intoxicating cloud of perfume, doling out tenderness and affection with every exhale. “Heart is Getting Cold” – It’s a song like “Heart is Getting Cold” that makes Palli so convincing. Not only do we have a hit-creation machine here. But we’re getting intelligence in songwriting, as well. While this particular track is less of an obvious standout, it’s the little things, like the chord progressions during the chorus, that reminds you you’re served up that little extra every time. It’s like how you ordered the chocolate brownie explosion at the steakhouse, and they served it with quality ice cream and coco dust. “She Her Elle” – As someone who grew up listening to Quebecoise music with a passion, I have to say there’s something here that reminds me of the temperate delivery of unpretentious singer-songwriters from La Belle Province. So it’s no surprise to me that she’s performed at the C2MTL conference in Montreal and has been picked up by CBC Radio and CBC Radio 2. She has vocal command like Celine Dion, but it’s delivered in a presentation that still sounds relevant to Los Angeles pop airwaves. There was another point in my service industry career where I was bussing tables around the “Maneater” Furtado era. As I was clearing plates and refilling waters, I overheard two Canadian music industry executives carefully strategizing about the future of Furtado’s career. Who knew that the result could be trickle down economics providing a useful leg up to a promising artist like Palli? She’s now seeking to care out her own space within the industry. Capitalism doesn’t come through for everyone, but it seems to be working to the advantage of Palli, someone who seems to truly appreciate the gifts she’s been given. Or as Furtado puts it, “Her zest for life completely rings through the music.” Bravo. Give a listen to Celia Palli's new album "Technicolours" on Spotify, and don't miss out on this artist's exclusive interview below! Where would you say you first started forming your musical identity and how did it happen? If I go way back I would say my childhood. My grandfather and my uncle are musicians. I heard my grandpa practice everyday and I spent many summers watching my uncle perform. As a kid, my family always sang as a choir in the car, and whenever I was alone, I would pretend to be a singer on a stage. At the age of 8, I entered a singing competition and I won. It wasn’t a Christina Aguilera performance but it gave me the confidence to start believing in myself. Shortly after that I started learning guitar and "writing" silly songs. What was it like backing Nelly Furtado? What did you learn from the experience? Man oh man, that was like getting a Master’s Degree in professional singing. I got to be part of TV performances, Award shows, live radio shows, arena concerts, etc. Each performance has its own set of challenges and I learned how to deal with them first hand. I now get called to do live TV, and I’m not startled by anything. I’m a better singer and performer today because of my time with Nelly, that’s for sure. What role did you have in the songwriting process for this album? I spent the last three years analyzing my old songs, pushing myself to explore my own skills and then figuring out what I want to say today. I few months before I went into the studio to record the album, sequence of events happened in my life that triggered all the songs. I would say I had a very active role in the songwriting process, although this time around, contrasting my first album, I did collaborate with artist I admire (Mariya Stokes, Nashlyn, Lindsay Foote). If there's one thing I've learned over the years it's that music is better when it's created with others. Are there any influence you feel have had a larger impact on your development as an artist that others? When I was younger, I would listen I sang along to the Beatles and also Paul McCartney and Wings. Their compositions definitely left a mark. And in recent years, Kimbra and Emily King have had a huge impact on how I approached songwriting and how I portray myself as an artist. Now that it's complete, and you look at what's emerged as the Technicolours album as a whole, what do you think has emerged? A new Celia has emerged for sure. This record forced me to ask myself some deep questions and so it forced me to grow as an artist. I would say that Technicolours is the result of my artistic soul search. :) Stay connected with Celia through on social media: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
- Chiara King Spices Things Up In "Dancing With Me"
Born and raised in London, Chiara King is a British pop singer/songwriter that has been singing since she was young and released her first single at the age of 19. Her biggest inspiration is Latin and Urban Pop artists. Recently, Chiara has been blowing up on social media and even opened a show for Jason Derulo. Her song titled, “Dancing With Me” also has a music video that just released on Youtube. It is an upbeat dance song that incorporates a Spanish feature and has stunning visuals. The song is very rhythmic based yet has a pop sound to it as well. The track is very catchy and will be an earworm and get you dancing while you’re at it. The music video is fun and visually appealing with the use of colors and effects. With both the visuals and Chiara’s fun unique vocals, King is the full package for her listeners. We see a playful and bright side of Chiara that will leave you in anticipation for her next single to drop. Similar to the upbeat and latin based music of Camila Cabello, Chiara is sure to hit the charts with her charismatic nature and appeal. Take a minute to check out Chiara King's recent song "Dancing With Me" on Spotify, and take a second minute to check out the artist's exclusive interview blow (she'll let you in on working with Derulo and the creation process of "Dancing With Me"! Hi Chiara, can you tell our readers a little about yourself and how you choose music as your career? Since I can remember I have always loved performing dancing, singing and acting, from nursery through school doing musicals and singing in the chapel choir. Having taken a year out before university I questioned what I really wanted in my life and last year I realized that I don’t just want to follow the typical path of university and getting a job in the city. My passion has always been singing and I decided that this is it. I love making good music with a strong beat and I want to make people feel happy and MOVE! What was it like opening up for Jason Derulo? What a cool experience! It was pretty surreal! Especially it being my first performance debuting my single, I was so scared! Shortly after I released my song on Spotify, my manager got an email from the production team asking if I wanted to perform live in about 10 days. They didn’t mention who else was performing. I am always up for a challenge so I said” why not”. Very last minute I found back up dancers and we put a choreographed dance together. I was originally scheduled to perform as the first act, but after the production team saw our rehearsal, I was moved forward and we were told: “you can’t have the green dressing room because that is the one Jason Derulo is using. You are singing right before him.” That was a “no pressure” moment! It ended up being such a great experience and totally unexpected. What was your favorite part about filming your music video? I loved filming the bath scene although because we had to make the bath milky I smelt like off milk afterward…Gotta sacrifice it for the shot. I also loved filming in the cinema it was so much fun playing around with Mike my co star and eating too much popcorn.Filming itself was a challenge as Mike came all the way from New York City just for the 3 days of shooting and Remo lives in Venezuela. He was filming his part of the video there. When we had everything booked and under control, I got a part in a feature film and I really wanted to do this, the only problem was that filming was scheduled during the music video, so we had to find a solution. I was basically on film set during the day and filming dancing with me music video evenings and nights, for the 3 nights Mike was in London. I hope I don’t look too tired in it haha. What was the creation process like with "Dancing With Me"? I wrote “dancing with me” together with Soy Remo, an incredibly talented artist and rapper in Venezuela, we even share the same birthday aha. It was originally something we wanted to try and play around with the beat, but ended up being the song we both liked. Working with Remo and Juan who is the producer of the song was a great experience. It was not easy as Venezuela is having many difficulties and political instability, but this song proves that everything is possible even with all the obstacles we had to overcome. I hope to work with them again and I developed great admiration for the people of Venezuela. They never give up! Fuerza Venezuela. What was the visual concept you wanted to achieve in your music video? As we couldn’t film the video together with Remo, we thought putting him on the cinema screen could also work. The video itself is just a dream and everything is mixed up when in the end I fall back asleep. I still keep dreaming about having a perfect date one day… What is your favourite lyric from “Dancing with me?” My favourite lyric is probably: “baby boy I know you feel the vibe, I like you there’s no need to be shy”. I wrote those lyrics when I liked a boy at the time but it was difficult for him to open up. Typical boys haha. The lyrics were words of encouragement to him. I also like the part in Spanish as I love reggeaton and latin music. I think Remo is so talented and I can’t wait for his single “Sata” to come out really soon. - Elliot Duke Releases "Hit It from The Back"
Elliot Duke is no stranger to the world’s troubles and tragedies. Duke is inspired by innovators such as Doja Cat, Alex Cameron, cupcakKe, and Rina Sawayama. With this, Duke crafts sensual synth-pop and abrasive pop-rap with lyrics that use political satire aided by soulful soliloquy on sex and true-love. The state and Elliot have not been on good terms where he has been in jail, beaten by police, and found himself under surveillance by the US military. His social justices include LGBTQ activism as well as homeless rights. His track, “Hit it from the Back”, is a bright synth pop bop that shows a playful and laid back vibe from Elliot. Duke uses a lot of political and social references such as “I’ll love you until the ice caps melt” which just reaffirms his stances aided by song. The soft “shoo be doo bes” are reminiscent of The Beatles and 60s music which give it a softer touch. As America’s social climate intensifies and increases, artists like Elliot Duke bring some light on the matter through easily digestible songs that are nonetheless powerful with its message. Regardless of your political stance , you will find that Duke’s music is groundbreaking and has created a genre of his own. Take some time to listen to Elliot Duke's "Hit It from The Back", and catch the artist's interview below where he sheds some light on the message behind his music creations! Your music is very light and fun, but your messages hold a bit more weight to them, how do you go about writing your music? I usually write by trying to imitate whatever music I’m most excited about at the time. I try to analyze why I like it so much- what is special about this or that particular song, and then try to create the same effect in my own work. My main goal is always to hold the attention of the listener or viewer in some way, so I try to include something unexpected, strange, funny, or shocking in every song. I want to get a strong reaction from people. I’d rather have people hate my music than have no opinion about it. Will you ever come back to the United States and do shows/make music? I don’t know! I definitely want to tour there again. I really love the U.S. and Canada and most of my family is there, so I might end up living there again at some point, but I really like Berlin and I plan on staying here. What do you think is the future for America is and how will this shape your music and your viewpoints? It’s impossible to predict right now where things are headed. This is a really confusing, scary, and important time for the whole world in fact. It’s inevitable that the U.S. will continue to decline as a world power, but the future of the political and economic landscape is uncertain. Things could improve a lot, or the country could suffer a long period of violence and devastation. I’m cautiously optimistic but only time will tell. The only thing that’s certain is that it won’t be boring! Mainstream music has become much more political in the past few years; "This is America" by Childish Gambino and "Land of the Free" by The Killers are two good examples. I really like the idea of combining the themes of politics and sex in music, so I want to continue to explore that combination with my lyrics. What inspired you to write your song, “Hit it from the Back”? When I wrote this song, I was listening to a lot of 90s pop music. Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and that kind of thing. And I realized that I’d never written a love song that was completely happy. Every love song I had written previously had some element of sadness or conflict; so my initial goal was to try to write a love song that was completely happy. Of course I failed, but I really like how the song turned out! And I never intended to make it political actually, but I guess climate change was weighing heavy on my mind because somehow it snuck its way into the song lyrics. Do you think by living in Berlin, it will change your style of music? It already has! I’ve been getting really into modular synthesis, and the next two tracks I’m going to release are a drum and bass track and an experimental electronic piece. - Kadeyjah Releases Hit Single “Close To You”
If you ever felt as if you were missing a fashionable RnB hit that weaves the lines between classic smooth vocals and urban trendy beats then you might want to tune into 22 year old, Los Angeles native, Kadeyjah’s new hit single “Close to You”. Kadeyjah has that smooth hazy vocal tone that knows how to serenade you with the perfect melody, completely adding texture and warmth to the song. “Close to You” reminds me a lot like those RnB hits from the early 00’s where the love bops were timeless and memorable. It was an era of fun in my opinion. Some of the most iconic RnB songs we know comes from that earlier time period and Kadeyjah’s “Close to You” has that ageless and classic vibe. I love how I feel like if I were to hear this song 15 years from now, I could still jam to it as I was doing in 2019. That’s an indicator to me that Kadeyjah knows how to cultivate an unchanging hit song. The song “Close to You” touches bases on the companionship between you and a significant other. It’s highly relatable because let’s face it, we all have or have had a special someone on our mind who has impacted us in a way where if we were to listen to music that discusses the corny butterfly feelings you feel, they would instantly come to mind. “Close to You” is a perfect love bop to add to your RnB playlists that draws lines from classic RnB to contemporary. Give a listen to "Close to You" on Spotify, and scroll further for Kadeyjah's exclusive interview below! You stated that you began recording music due to your realization that God blessed you with a gift. Would you consider yourself a spiritual and religious person? I would say Yes. I do believe in God and I believe in spirituality. I can say that I am more spiritual because of how I view energies, karma and blessings. I believe that everything happens for a reason and certain things are put in your life as a test. You have a classic RnB tone to you, who are some of your music influences? I grew up listening to oldies and that 90s R&B . Some of my favs would be Shirley Murdock, Aretha Franklin, jelly price, Jill Scott, Fantasia, Alicia Keys.. the list goes on. I was in love with the Motown vibes as well. How would you describe your musical style? I can’t really describe my style Because it’s unique to me. I cross between genres but I guess I can say I’m R&B . What’s the meaning behind “Close To You”? Close to you, I would say is me wanting to get to know someone I’m feeling and fantasizing about them. Where do you see your career in 5 years? In 5 yrs I see myself opening up shows, having a large fan base & just being well known and appreciated. I wanna be able to say that I worked hard to get to where I’ll be. So right now I’m workin to balance all that I have goin on and just develop my writing, sound, image and style. More work to be done but it’s going great so far. Familiarize yourself with Kadeyjah through Instagram and Twitter. #BuzzMusic
- Radiate With Roaman's New Single "More Than Enough"
From acoustic folk to reggae, passing through gospel and hip hop vibes, singer-songwriter Roaman weaves an eclectic and unpredictable tapestry of memorable melodies and inspiring, thought-provoking lyrics with a clear intention in mind: uplift the spirit, shake the collective conscience, and remind us that “everyone is family and everywhere is home”. Roaman just released his new single titled “More Than Enough.” The joyful tune begins with a delighted acoustic guitar chord with support from a natural sounding bird tweedle. That bird sound was instantly my favorite. It curated the entire setting for the song for me. I envisioned myself outside on a grassy field, the weather just right, and the season is spring. An early morning and you hear the comforting sounds from the birds and the riveting tune from Roaman’s relaxing vocals. It gives a sense of home, and just brings a sudden urge of joy across your mood. You can’t help but become naturally buoyant due to the uppermost radiance displayed in “More Than Enough”. The song felt natural and uncompressed than many songs where artists tends to let the music make them instead of making the music themselves. Roaman had a vision, and properly executed it, delivering us a vibrant hit jingle we can cherish for a time of prosperity, replenishment, and happiness!
