The young recording artist is tearing up the Canadian music scene, accumulating over 600,000 streams and landing at #24 on the Canadian Top 40 Chart with her song "Habit." But her track record is only a sliver of what she brings to the table: authentic, uplifting tracks that'll make you move your feet. The same can be said about her newest release. Yung Leo is captivating audiences left and right with "Too Good," a sonically delicious pop tune produced by Lucas Liberatore, aka Luca The Producer (Marie Mai, Johnny Orlando, Preston Pablo). This vibrant pop anthem champions moving on from a toxic relationship and realizing your worth when times get tough. Expanding on "Too Good," the experience kicks off with earworm guitar riffs alongside Yung Leo's soft vocals expressing how far she's come after finally finding angels in the dust. Luca's production is top-tier, offering a fun drum n' bass feel while still maintaining the overall pop essence for a refreshing, fun-loving experience. Hear it yourself and find Yung Leo's new single, "Too Good," on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Yung Leo! We love the empowering and uplifting feel of your recent single, "Too Good." What inspired you to create such a powerful song like this? Thanks! My new song, 'Too Good,' is about moving on from a relationship that broke your self-worth. The mystic imagery in the first verse represents letting yourself trust that things will get better when nothing points in that direction yet. I wrote the chorus as a mantra, something you might need while you first try to get back up, to remember that you are loved and that you are not alone. I felt like there was a gap in the conversation about trauma, closure, and healing. The fire metaphor symbolizes the drastic mindset change we need to be able to trust ourselves again—a spiritual rebirth. What was your experience working with Luca The Producer for "Too Good"? Was this your first time working together? Luca and I have been working together since 2022. He’s an amazing producer and a great friend. I brought him 'Too Good,' which initially was a piano ballad. I told him what the aim was, and he messed it up just right. What was your songwriting process like for "Too Good?” Was it easy for you to lay it all on the line and write such compelling lyrics? I wrote this song with my good friend Brittany Kwasnik (aka Bayla) over Zoom last year. It’s a very personal song, so I wrote the two verses in about five minutes, haha. But we didn’t have a strong chorus before going into the studio to record. In the same kind of organic flow, all three of us wrote the chorus and recorded the crowd vocals on the same day. It's kinda wild how perfectly it all aligns, like looking inwards for clues and then trusting the universe for whatever's missing. What would you say separates "Too Good" from your previous releases? What makes this song unique to you? This song has more of me than any other song we’ve worked on so far. My lyrics tend to be more abstract—sometimes cryptic—and I didn't think we would keep it that way, but it just works. What do you hope listeners take away after hearing "Too Good?” How did you want this song to impact them? I hope this song makes you feel good and helps you get to a better place. I want you to feel confident blasting it in your headphones on your way to school or work. I hope it gives you the strength to avoid old patterns, but also pick yourself up if you fall. Forgive yourself for past mistakes, learn to love yourself, and accept to be loved again. Instagram

We're head over heels for the power and angst in your latest single, "XY." What experiences inspired you to create this breakup anthem? Thank you! XY is about all the reasons you regret being with someone. I wrote it as a celebration song for people getting out of bad relationships. Did any artists or projects influence the sound and style of "XY?" What or who did you want this single to feel like? We wanted XY to feel super angsty. We didn’t have any specific songs we wanted it to feel like, but I think it fits into that old Avril Lavigne category. What makes you proud of "XY?" It makes the process way more special getting to do it with him. How did you want "XY" to impact your listeners? What did you want them to feel and take away? I hope listeners can find joy in bad situations when listening to this song. It’s all about making things fun, even when they’re not! Instagram Facebook

  • Morgan Hudson & Lonnie Britton Explore The Depths Of Loneliness In New Video, "Lonely Together"

Powerhouse vocalist and guitarist Morgan Hudson, the heart and soul of blues-rock band MoCo from Greenville, North Carolina, teams up with fellow North Carolina blues songsmith Lonnie Britton on a poignant new duet titled "Lonely Together." When she’s not tearing up stages across her stomping grounds with MoCo’s (Morgan and Company) live performances, packed with her force-of-nature voice and electrifying guitar skills, Morgan Hudson is putting her energy into her solo projects. Exploring a rich tapestry of country blues, she’s tugging on heartstrings with compelling lyrics and thoughtful storytelling. The same can be said about her recent single, “Lonely Together,” featuring blues singer-songwriter Lonnie Britton. Morgan says the song is her most ambitious project yet, and it is accompanied by a thought-provoking music video that delves deep into the human experience of loneliness. Set in comforting rural Carolina, the music video for "Lonely Together" gives viewers a dynamic back-and-forth while Morgan and Lonnie provide heartfelt, soulful performances that long for someone to be lonely with. It’s a relatable, compelling visual experience that highlights the challenges of loneliness and how humans have different coping mechanisms. Their soulful harmonies blend seamlessly over a backdrop of bluesy guitar riffs and heartrending lyrics, creating a sound that is both timeless and refreshingly raw. Let it remind you of the power of human connection, even in the darkest of times. Check out the music video for "Lonely Together" by Morgan Hudson, featuring Lonnie Britton, on YouTube. The song is also available on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Morgan! Congratulations on the release of your single and music video, "Lonely Together.” What inspired you to explore the theme of loneliness in this powerful duet with Lonnie Britton? Thank you so much, Buzz! Like most artists, my songs come from personal experience. In the last year, I went through a significant season of change, and I found myself forced to confront many feelings—one of them being loneliness. New ideas and experiences on my path of self-discovery led to the passion and lyrics behind “Lonely Together.” The music video for "Lonely Together" powerfully contrasts two different approaches to dealing with loneliness. Can you share more about the creative process behind developing these characters and their stories? We all deal with pain in different ways. I really wanted to portray the difference between healthy and not-so-healthy (but completely common) coping mechanisms that people go through when they deal with intense emotion. So Lonnie’s character portrays that with alcohol, and my character with songwriting. The crying scene I do is evident, though, that even though people may have the ability to cope in healthier ways, the pain doesn’t hide itself. How did your collaboration with Lonnie Britton on "Lonely Together" come about, and what was it like working together on this deeply personal project? I wrote the song originally as a solo and I thought about how much more accurate it would be to have the 2 characters in the story longing or singing to each other. The song itself is all about wanting to be loved. Every song, when broken down, is about love in some form or another. Loneliness and longing go hand in hand. Wanting to just be good enough. I changed the lyrics to fit a duet and then I messaged Lonnie because he has one of the best male blues vocals around. I wanted the song to have a slow, intimate feel and I thought our voices would complement each other. Lonnie agreed not only to the song, but then later to the music video. He was fun to work with because he too, is passionate about his art and was really invested in my vision for the story. Did you work alongside any directors or videographers when shooting the “Lonely Together” music video? Who helped you bring that to life? Samantha Arlene Kniskern and Josh Potter of 1413 Visuals were the videographers on this project. Samantha directed and edited the video. They were both so wonderful to work with. Sam really helped my vision come to life. She took the idea and really fleshed out the details. I told her that the final project was exactly what I had envisioned, but even better. She came to the set with a printed list of shots she knew she wanted to get to elevate the storyline. ideas for each of the characters, and even snacks! All of us laughed so much on the set that day. Sam and Josh do great work and I can’t wait to work with them in the future. What message do you hope listeners and viewers will take away from "Lonely Together," and how might this song represent a new chapter in your artistic journey? I want people to feel what each of them needs to feel when they see the video and hear the song. For the person who is going through a breakup, divorce, loss, etc if they need to feel that sadness and longing for human touch and connection, I want the video to give them permission to feel that way and know it’s okay. Hell, shed a few tears if needed. The lovers in the audience feel passionate and excited. Music to me, is about making people uncomfortably comfortable. Rawness. Passion. Reality. I hope this song and future work portrays nothing else and nothing less. Instagram Facebook

We love the anthemic and energetic vibes of your recent single, "Everybody Wants Peace and Love." Did anything in particular inspire you to create this uplifting tune? This song was the final song written and recorded and the missing puzzle piece completing our 21st-century rock opera Keep On Rising. It was recorded on the last day in the studio after a year of writing and recording daily, door to door, from June 1st, 2020, to June 1st, 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. How does "Everybody Wants Peace and Love" tie into the core theme of your upcoming rock opera "Keep On Rising?" How does this single prepare listeners for what's to come? “Everybody Wants Peace and Love” ties into our rock opera after a significant turning point in the storyline. It is the turn of the tide in which the hero of our story is now singing to the audience, the whole of humanity if you will, and addressing the greater good aspirations that drive our hero’s truth, change, and manifestation in the world—peace and love by way of rock' n roll. The single will prepare listeners for what's to come thematically and sonically, and we hope it dips a toe into MRS. HENRY's dynamic range, from psychedelic virtuosity to fine craft songwriting and our own classic rock/pop sensibilities. What was the significance behind gathering notable figures to feature in the music video for "Everybody Wants Peace and Love?" What did their presence bring to the table? Given the message and the nature of the song, we wanted to encapsulate “Everybody” with our friends and family who wanted to be involved. Doing their thing, showcasing their craft and passion that brings them and others peace and love, and yes some of them happen to be notable figures in the San Diego music scene! From stunt doubles to radio DJs to All-Star athletes to gun safety instructors. It’s about Everybody and all-inclusive. Can you drop any hints or clues for readers regarding your upcoming rock opera "Keep On Rising?" What are you most excited about? We are excited to release this rock opera in its glorious entirety to the world. 38 songs spanning the gamut of rock n roll. If we had to pick one audience or genre, this is for fans of rock, but we’ve found even those who say they aren’t “fans of rock” still love this music, and “Everybody Wants Peace and Love” is an excellent gateway into our universe. Of course, if you dig classic rock, alt-rock or prog rock, this album is heavily influenced by the great concept albums of our time from The Who’s Tommy to Pink Floyd’s The Wall, the epic Genesis and Peter Gabriel Swan Song The Lamb Lays Down on Broadway and the 90’s Smashing Pumpkins masterpiece Melancholy and Infinite Sadness. What did you want to get across to listeners and viewers with "Everybody Wants Peace and Love?" What was your goal in that respect? Our goal was to create a single, song and music video that could relate to all. This is about inclusion. Positivity moving forward and humanity which IS Everybody. Highlight diversity and celebrate the awakening of peace and love around the world. I'll share an anecdote from our recent travels on tour - While we've been on the road this year in British Columbia, Canada, we stayed on a beautiful inlet known as Roberts Creek with our gracious host Jemma - a self-proclaimed "hippie" from the glory days of the late 60s/70s born in Ireland in the 1950s. As she told us about her travels and the hippie movement of that time, she expressed the awakening of "Peace and Love", and we reminded each other of our relevance to that movement today. This music video is that. It was created to spread that word and that movement that is alive. This song is it. It hasn't gone away since it was awakened in the 60's. Our vehicle, our transport, and our megaphone is Rock N Roll. That is how we share the message. Facebook Instagram

So don't say we didn't warn you; get ready to be moved because this song is a journey through the purest form of devotion. Welcome to BUZZ, Stringz EMB! "You" is such a heartfelt tribute to your wife. Can you please share more about the inspiration behind the song and what it means to you personally? First & foremost, thank you so much! The inspiration behind the song comes from love & the journey of partnership. We, as people, are made from love, so in turn, we are made to love. My attempt was to place a spotlight on my perspective of what the voyage of love & marriage looks like. The music video for "You" beautifully portrays the journey of your relationship. How did you approach the storytelling aspect of the video, and what was the creative process like? I really appreciate that. Honestly, the concept of the visual came from my Cinematographer, Andrew Stephen. That's the beauty of working with him. I sent the track over to him & his creative juices started bubbling. He hit me back a couple of weeks later with the idea. We chatted about it & I was all the way in. Smiling ear to ear, I couldn't wait to begin filming. We needed a leading lady who could possibly fill the void & Alysha was my instant thought. She's a vocal recording artist from St. Louis. We've worked together in the past, so there was already a relationship there. Oh yeah, & she's gorgeous..... so that made it a pretty easy decision. It took us a few weeks in total, but it was DEFINITELY worth every minute. The visual is beautiful & I'm excited to see what's to come of it. Your music often explores themes of love, resilience, and personal growth. How do you balance these themes in your songwriting, and what message do you hope to convey to your listeners? My intention is to always balance the message delivered in my music. Love is the most powerful drug in the world, and I'm just trying to get as many people addicted as I can. The personal growth part is just what happens. As I live my days, I absorb involuntary inspiration. It's only natural that when I write, everything that I am feeling (past and present) is poured out into my creations. After confronting battles with depression, how has music been a therapeutic tool for you, and how do you hope it impacts others who may be going through similar struggles? After battling depression, music has really been my lungs. It's allowed me to breathe & plant something that I can witness blossom. The journey has been so glorious that I've had no reason to backtrack into a depressive state. My heart is so filled with joy & anticipation. That, to me, was the true gift of depression. In the midst of my darkest times, I discovered the brightest part of my soul. I pray that others who are touched by depression, have the strength to take a step back & understand that in their storm, there's an indestructible shelter awaiting their arrival. As you continue to evolve as an artist, what are some of the new themes or musical directions you are excited to explore in your upcoming projects? As I continue to evolve as an artist, I plan to continue to spotlight love, but in my next album, the focus will be on a different perspective of love. A bit less of the "perfect," fairytale story & more on the slightly ratchet, sneaking around in attempts to find love. Most people are single, so my next project will cater to the majority. I really feel that the perspective will resonate with those in that space. I am really looking forward to hearing what people think. & Actually, it's been under wraps, but I just accidentally gave the name of the album in this interview. Can you guess the name? • Thomas Orlina’s New Release, “Tell Me Your Name,” Is a Declaration of Self-Acceptance and Empowerment

It’s such a freeing feeling to be able to let loose and be yourself. Thomas Orlina, the multifaceted artist known for his prowess as a singer, songwriter, producer, and advocate, looks to continue his ascension on his latest release, “Tell Me Your Name.” Having burst onto the scene with releases like his acclaimed 2021 debut “Brush It Off,” this talented musician is still just hitting his artistic stride. As he continues to come into his own and explore new musical directions, the sky is the limit for this rising star. As an artist proud of his Filipino heritage, Orlina dedicated and created “Tell Me Your Name” in honor of AAPI month, embracing his identity and championing the Asian community. This marks his fifth single, following the success of hits like “I Want It Right Now,” which captivated audiences from San Francisco to Southern California. Something that stands out with Orlina’s releases is the passion that comes into every note, and with “Tell Me Your Name,” seeing Orlina cut loose, this passion looks completely unfiltered. A risque and thrilling sonic adventure, “Tell Me Your Name” marks a bold departure for Orlina, showcasing a more mature and edgy sound that pushes boundaries with its hyper-sexual lyrics. The accompanying music video features a pulsating beat and seductive vocals to match Orlina’s intense eye contact and energy, “Tell Me Your Name” invites listeners into a realm where inhibition is left at the door. Brimming with pure, undeniable, uninhibited energy, “Tell Me Your Name” is more than just a new release; it’s a declaration of self-acceptance and empowerment. “Tell Me Your Name” is a testament to Orlina's unwavering commitment to artistic integrity and inclusivity, having no regrets, and being his best, authentic self. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream Thomas Orlina’s latest release, “Tell Me Your Name,” on all majour streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Thomas Orlina! We loved “Tell Me Your Name” and wanted to ask! What was your inspiration for this release, and how did it fit into the music video you made? Thank you for having me! The inspiration for the release was to tap into an edgier sound and push the envelope. The lyrics are very sexual and free, so I wanted my listeners to feel liberated and have fun with the song. I’ve had this record for a while since it was presented to me a couple of years ago, but I just wasn’t ready to take my music in this direction. After much time to think about it and the time I took to grow as a person and artist, I’m grateful that it’s available now, and I couldn’t have asked for a better time to release it. For the music video, we tied in many sexual themes and playful interactions with one another. It's by far my most risqué video and marks my directorial debut. What was your initial vision for the “Tell Me Your Name music video,” and was the final version close to what you had imagined initially? The overall feel of the video is very sexy and daring. I knew I wanted to showcase confident male models who would feel comfortable in their skin with their shirts off, and I wanted to incorporate choreography because that is a big part of what I do as an artist. Every song I have released has some type of dance, and since this song is an EDM dance record, we showcase a lot of that throughout the video. There are parts in the video that are very in your face, especially some of the scenes of me in bed, but that was very intentional and a part of the fantasy world we built around this visual project. I believe it turned out better than my team and I imagined. What was your favorite part of bringing your creative vision to life for the “Tell Me Your Name” music video? My favorite part was sharing with my audience a new side of me. This fantasy visual project made me feel very free from caring about what people think about me and more about being myself, pushing the boundaries creatively with some of the shot selections, and taking that authoritative role as a director. If your fans could take one thing away from “Tell Me Your Name” and the music video, what would you want it to be? I hope that my audience realizes that we have a lot of power as people and that we get to design the life that we want to have. I hope that this video gives them the strength to free themselves from public opinion and ultimately do what makes them happy. What’s next for Thomas Orlina, and is there anything you’d like to say to your fans? There’s so much to look forward to this year. We have more live performances this Summer. I have different exciting opportunities to continue to amplify my music, and I am excited to work with some amazing non-profit organizations that are very important to me. I’d like to thank all my fans who stream my music and continue championing what I do. I wouldn’t be here without my supporters and I’m so thankful every day for the love and uplifting messages I receive from them. Instagram Facebook

  • Buzz Exclusive: Chris Gullace Unpacks Latest Single "Fun To Play Pretend" From Upcoming Album

Welcome to Buzz, Chris! Congratulations on finally rolling out some songs from your upcoming album, Circumstances. What made you want to release "Fun To Play Pretend" first? I think fun to play pretend is the perfect song for the summer. It has this catchy guitar intro that reminds me of those old-school 60s songs from Motown that make you hum along to the guitar. If people are singing parts that don’t even have words you know you are heading in the right direction as a songwriter. I just love this song and the story of young love finding each other in the summer. But will it last forever? What life experiences or moments inspired the lyrical content in "Fun To Play Pretend?" We have all had crazy summers growing up. You meet someone and all the chemistry and attraction is there. You wonder will this be a forever thing? Will we know each other in September? How does "Fun To Play Pretend" relate to the overall theme of your album Circumstances? How does it tie into the album's core? I recorded this album in Nashville, so the experience really shaped the songs. I was inspired by country singer-songwriters like Chris Stapleton and Willie Nelson. It truly is a happy-sounding record because I was just in heaven being able to record it at Off The Row Studios. Did you work with any musicians or producers when creating "Fun To Play Pretend?" Who helped you bring this song to life? I co-wrote this album with Danny Wells, who wrote iconic songs for George Strait and Rascal Flatts, to name a few, and with Erin McCaffrey, who owns Off The Row Studios. I worked with producer PT Houston, who has worked with so many incredible artists. He brought out the best in me, and we didn’t settle until the songs were perfect. What do you hope listeners take away from "Fun To Play Pretend?" What did you want to make them think and feel? I want them to learn the song and make it part of their lives. If I achieve that, I did my job, and I can go to sleep at night proud that my art made someone happy. Instagram
