  • WINZO Creates A Unique And Beautiful Genre Of Her Own

After years of struggling to find a genre of music that perfectly encapsulated her true musical self, WINZO decided to pave her avenue to a genre she calls "Trouba-Pop." This subgenre of pop music elaborates on traditional pop sounds while styling her lyrics to create an "audio escapade," unleashing the colors of her musical kaleidoscope to wash over her listeners. This troubadour of sound creates her records following intuition towards a sense for a particular melody. After feeling comfortable in a particular tone, WINZO then pairs it to a theory she uses as a vehicle to connect with her fans. WINZO's blend of vivid ancestral roots combined with life experiences, love of nature, and fascination with meteorological phenomena, provide WINZO creative inspiration, which fuels her dreamy soundscapes. Never compromising on a creative concept, WINZO sets her standards that allow her to develop far-reaching areas of sound she proudly coins as her own. Instagram

  • WINZO Shows Us How Funky Hip-Hop Is Done With "Paradise In Between"

WINZO is a multi-genre artist who specializes in creating a melting pot of multiple elements to create an ever-evolving experience. In 2016 WINZO was in touch with DJ Ben Dragon to write and sing on the song "Funk That Bowday" which landed a placement on respected radio stations and playlists. WINZO's latest release "Paradise in Between" is an exciting, groovy, ever-flowing sonic adventure that takes you across multiple styles in a well-structured manner. The record opens up with an extremely groovy dance rhythm with sensual almost careless adlib vocals. Every section of the song feels whole and complete, beautifully transitioning from one to the next; the pre-chorus features a hooky vocal, a massive sounding bass, and begins to introduce a solo mysterious trumpet that leads us to the huge sounding chorus that instantly would send a dance floor into moving as one. There are a lot of small details in "Paradise in Between", showing how much care WINZO put into every single sound that happens; from the soft woodblock hits, the subtle jazzy guitar hits, and exciting vocal effects this is a tune that delivers in the WINZO style. "Paradise in Between" is a song that we'll be adding to our summer playlists and playing at every party. Instagram Twitter

  • The Song of Covid-19 Is Here

Not wasting his creative time while in quarantine, Ohreo pens relatable raps on latest track "Lockdown." Ticking percussive beats, pulse along with Ohreo's free-flowing raps. Tapping into all our current states of being, Ohreo quite possibly, single-handily creates a COVID 19 slogan on lyrics: "Covids outta hand, damn this ain't part the plan," never has a rhyme been so in touch with the times. Ohreo isn't wasting his time during "Lockdown," showcasing his originality and ability to connect with the listener. Ohreo is a 19-year-old rapper based in Los Angeles, California, writing, producing, and creating his rhymes. Ohreo's primary goal is to write lyrics that are relatable to his listener that spread messages of positivity through his music. "Lockdown" is an accurate representation of Ohreo's creative purpose, reminding us that we are all in this together. The hip hop beats and pure harmonic tones backing this track, give the piece an air of defiance to it- even though we are "trapped," we still have the ability to rise above oppressive circumstances. We enjoyed hearing Ohreo's take on "Lockdown," and we can't wait for you to experience it. Welcome to BuzzMusic Ohreo. You give off a really confident aura through your music! Is this a skill you've developed over time or has it come naturally to you? Thank you! Honestly, it came naturally to me. For me it has always been about expressing oneself and telling a story that everyone has heard in some form or can relate to in their own lives. I enjoy reaching out to people through my songs, and I want to be someone that represents everyone and understands them. “Autograph” hit us to our very core with your bars! How have you developed your songwriting/rap ability overtime? To be honest, since I wrote, produced, and rapped in the song myself, it took a lot of practice, trial and error, and long hours. It is important to ask yourself, “what do I want to say with this song?”. I sat with my lyrics and beat for a long time before finalizing anything. I did the same with my upcoming songs. It’s really about taking the time to ensure the song captures what you want to say, and that it means something to those listening. Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music? Yes. I feel as though my music is an embodiment, maybe hyperbolically so, of society as a whole and some of the things we all face. That’s where I feel I connect with my listeners. One of my favorite lines in the song is “after the trials and tribulations, I just don’t need these frustrations”, which I feel encapsulates the struggle we all face in society: we work very hard to get where we are, and often, without anyone’s support. I wanted to tell people who may not feel understood that I’m here, I feel your frustration, and that I support you. Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your song “Autograph”? My biggest inspiration has been my own life. Life is an uphill battle, and this song comes from what I see, what I hear, what I experience. “Autograph” essentially put a magnifying glass up to the superficialities of people that I have dealt with. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? I’ve been working tirelessly on four new upcoming singles, more information to come out soon. I’m excited about these, because of the sheer effort I put into them. I know everyone will like it. I am also an actor, so you’ll see me in something along those lines real soon too. Instagram

  • Jay Greene Has Been Preparing His Whole Life To Turn Dreams Into Reality

The San Jose based Hip-Hop artist Jay Greene is one of those people who would not stop at anything to turn his lifelong dreams into a reality. Initially learning about hip-hop at a young age from a career that his uncle was building in the industry, Jay decided to pick up from where he left off and did not stop at anything to get what he wants. After joining the military and becoming a decorated combat veteran, Jay Greene has been releasing music with a diverse array of colors to always keep the sounds and music fresh. This was something that is heard in his latest release “Curious,” fusing together soft melodic ideas over punchy drums and then melding that with an incredibly serious tone, Jay Greene does not fool around for a moment on what he is capable of. Jay’s voice sings like a powerful trumpet, and there is no clear sign of him slowing down. Listen to "Curious" here. Instagram

  • Jay Greene Is Back With That “Ginsu” Precision

Taking every bit of influence he could from his uncle and reputable emcee, L.A.P, up and coming hip-hop lyricist and rapper Jay Greene began pursuing his musical career after his uncle was sent to prison. His need to keep his family’s legacy alive was the main drive that got him started with such ambition. Based in San Jose, California, Jay Greene can deliver an array of styles based on his diverse musical influences. After joining the Army at 19 and being deployed to Iraq in 2006, Jay Greene created his first album in between combat mission. With modern trap music on the rise, his album didn’t receive the feedback he had hoped and ultimately lead to Jay’s hiatus from the rap game. Back from a long hiatus, Jay released his first single “Back To Rap” which amassed nothing but success. Now he’s gearing up to take the music industry by storm and release single after single of new music. “Ginsu” is Jay Greene’s brand new track and we can’t get enough of his sound. The track expertly weaves through elements of powerful hip-hop verses. Jay Greene exudes undeniable confidence and authentic grit throughout the entire track. Being able to put pen to paper and create emotive and powerful lyrics then match those lyrics to a catchy beat and make it alluring and connection seeking for the listener is a true talent! Jay Greene showcases his skills as an admirable, talented and spectacular hip-hop artist. He consistently proves he belongs at the top. Welcome to BuzzMusic Jay Greene! We love that you originally got started in the music industry to pay tribute to your uncle who could no longer release music. What do you incorporate into your new music that continues his rap legacy? “I think just continuing to spit dope bars and not sell out to what’s “popping” gets a thumbs up from him”. We love the confidence and swagger you exude throughout “Ginsu”! Can you dive into the main themes behind this track? I absolutely hate the word “Swagger”, but for real the theme is simple. A Ginsu is a chef’s knife. I used to see the Infomercials for them back in the day and those things would cut through literally anything. Anyway, the idea of having rhymes sharp enough to cut through any beat was the theme I was aiming for. Taking the focus off the material bullshit and putting it back on the ability to deliver bars. From an artist’s perspective, what was your favorite part about creating your new track “Ginsu”? How did you know when it was truly finished? The energy of the beat made writing it fun for me. Beats these days are pretty low tempo and boring. This beat reminded me of a early 2000’s “hitmen” type track. When the beat actually drops I can hear Diddy saying “Bad Boy”, It just has that kind of feel to it. Ginsu is a track you have to force yourself to stop writing to. For me, when I’m having fun with the writing process I’ll write twice as many verses to it. I don’t think I’ll ever feel like it’s finished but I’m pretty happy with the finished product. Your intense energy is clear through the speakers but what is your live stage presence like? I’m not a animated performer, I don’t have the cardio for all that shit. No matter how good a shape I’m in, I get winded pretty quickly. I tend to borrow a lot of my onstage presence from Hov. He doesn’t do a lot of jumping around and all that and his shows are still electric. Fade to black is my goto film for developing my live performance. We really appreciate you chatting with us about your incredible music! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? What’s next for me? Music, music and more music. I’m getting more comfortable with the idea of just slinging these singles so don’t expect me to slow down on that. Instagram

  • Diverse Sibling Pop Duo MiruDaru Releases Their Exhilarating Track “Watch Out”

From Venezuela to Los Angeles, brother and sister pop duo MiruDaru return to the music scene with their energetic and lively track “Watch Out!”. Having a diverse background in the music industry through Japanese singing contest TV shows, to sharing the stage with none other than Journey, MiruDaru is always finding new ways to bridge the cultural gaps in the music. While aiming to create authentic and relatable music that sheds light on its listeners, their recent song “Watch Out!” does that and much more. Not to mention the tracks music video giving us a glimpse into the future and being controlled by technology. MiruDaru fuse’s together with a fresh pop feel while also providing delivery similar to Japanese pop with incredible energy. Kicking off with up-beat and growling synths, the layered beat flows into a heavy electro-pop sound, giving “Watch Out!” a feel-good and confident atmosphere from the very beginning through its invigorating production. As Daniela begins singing hauntingly, her brother Miguel follows right up with his textured approach as “Watch Out!” moves towards the exhilarating chorus. MiruDaru captures themes of expressing your inner superstar and embracing fame with beaming confidence. The production maintains it’s groovy and up-beat electronic ambiance through a variety of rhythmic and heavy synths. They’ve crafted precisely their goal by providing listeners with bright and encouraging music through their track “Watch Out!” and we’re only anticipating greatness for MiruDaru and their upcoming releases. You can listen to "Watch Out!" here. Welcome to BuzzMusic! We’re loving the energy and confidence on your recent track “Watch Out”. What made you two want to write a song that highlights your inner superstar, and embracing what fame provides? We grew up in the always very conservative south American culture; however, we have always believed that you should stay true to yourself. "Watch Out!" is about opening yourself to new horizons by showing your true essence. Until not long ago, we lived in a world where we were told how to dress, how to think, how to act, how to live, and this song is a way to encourage everyone to follow their inner voice and show the world that we are all valuable and we can succeed no matter how different you are. The hardest thing throughout this journey has been staying true to our artist identity; we've been questioned countless times about our music style, the mixture of languages we use, our image as artists, and we've told to change it all, but we know who we are and we will stay true to our message. There's to much noise out there, and the world should Watch Out because we are cutting through it.           Within your song “Watch Out!”, we can sense a dynamic sound through Japanese pop elements while rounding it out with radiant electronic pop. How did MiruDaru shape the supporting production to provide such a unique sound? Finding a balance between the elements of our musical and cultural background has been a real challenge. We wanted to create something that could be enjoyed by different audiences; On one side, We refer to Japanese Pop because it's very dynamic and bright. It's elaborated and songwriter oriented; the melody and lyrics are very important and that is our focus as musicians. On the other hand, we use elements of American Pop so our music is more fun, catchy and people can dance. When we start the production process of a song we establish the rhythm always thinking about how we can bring it to a live performance and make it fun. From then, we start shaping it with the styles mentioned above having meaningful verses transitioning into more uptempo rhythms to prepare the listener to party at the chorus. So far we have produced, arranged and written all of our songs, but we are looking forward to collaborating with other producers and musicians.          We’ve heard that MiruDaru has had quite an extensive industry background through various performances and TV/online shows. How have these experiences helped MiruDaru grow and expand as artists? These opportunities have helped us to stay focused on our goals. When you get to perform in major venues with recognized artists your perspective changes. You really understand how things can get to be if you put effort and sacrifice into your craft. As an artist you start to be respected for what you do and for what you put out there. You also see that we are all human and it humbles you; we don't have to be perfect, but you do have to give your 200% on stage all the time. Most people see being a recognized artist as just fame and fortune, but there is much more to it. There's sentiment, love, hours of practice, lack of sleep, money invested and the list keeps going. You get to understand the process behind it all, and that is what really helps you to grow as an artist. Every single time you go on stage is a different learning experience and there's no warmest emotion that when people are dancing with you, singing with you and connecting at another level while you are on stage.  Through MiruDaru’s diverse discography and musical influences, we’ve heard that you fuse together pop, jazz, and Japanese pop. How did MiruDaru originally come across this broad range of style, has your sound changed since your first releases? We are classically trained musicians and Jazz lovers. We also grew up to Latin music and Japanese Pop and We thought, "why not do it all?". We are a "Genre free" artist (laughs). We think that music is a universal language and we all understand it. We all identify with some genres more than others, and sometimes what we listen to is determined by our feelings. We want to show people our world; a musically and emotionally diverse world. We want to give our audience the chance to listen to our ballads when they are down, to dance to our music when they are happy, to play our Jazzy songs when they feel the romance. With every album release our music has definitely changed. We keep learning, adapting, and experimenting with our music. We want to create intercultural bridges with it, and what better way to do it than putting a little bit of everything into the mix. What can we expect to see next from you? We are still promoting our latest album "Pop!" where you can find "Watch Out!". We released two music videos, and the previously mentioned song is one of them. We are planning to shoot another video for this album soon, and we have started writing and arranging a new piano acoustic EP. This EP will have piano versions of our favorite ballad from each album released so far and a couple of new songs. We want to soothe people's hearts in these times of crisis. We are also choreographing and staging the songs from our latest album "Pop!" to be ready when live venues open their doors again. Instagram

  • Rainy Eyes Sets The Songwriting Bar High With Her New Single, “Moon In The Mirror”

San Francisco based Americana singer/songwriter Rainy Eyes serenades us with her timeless hit and the title track, “Moon in the Mirror” from her debut album. Serene melodies and soulful harmonies enhance Rainy Eyes’ sound that takes you back to simpler times.  She has opened for bands/artists like Willie Watson, Patterson Hood, Ramblin’ Jack Elliot, and many others. Rainy Eyes has performed at shows/venues such as Sweetwater Music Hall, Far West Fest, SXSW, UC Berkeley Redwood Summer Concert. She has created quite a stir by not only winning “best song of the month” at the Fright and Salvage West Coast Songwriters Competition but also by collaborating with grammy winner Peter Rowan. “Moon in the Mirror” offers an easy-listening folk/country twang — an obvious ode to Americana culture. With an array of strings from acoustic guitar, fiddle, and subtle electric guitar, “Moon in the Mirror” is a beautiful and hopeful song of self-love and positive outlooks.  Rainy Eyes and her supporting vocals create incredibly melodic harmonies pleasing to the ear. With a mid-tempo speed, Rainy Eyes and her talented co-musicians convey thoughtful messages of love and hope. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Rainy Eyes! We’re enamoured with your serene sound and thoughtful songwriting. Could you share where you found inspiration for the title track “Moon in the Mirror”? Oh, thank you so much! Yeah, I wrote this song after leaving a pretty rough and tumultuous relationship and the title of the song is actually a line from a Gillian Welch song “I dream a highway”. She is probably my favorite contemporary songwriter and a huge inspiration to my songwriting both lyrically and musically as well. You offer incredibly pure and genuine lyrics, what helps you write to the best of your ability? I made a commitment to myself to only write truthful and honest lyrics right from the heart, and to not sensor or think about who will hear this song as I’m writing. To me the best songs are written that way, it might be painfully honest but who wants to hear anything but the truth? When I write I try to just let the words flow and not judge in the moment and not go back and edit until later, works for me at least. I’m not interested in clever rhymes and to quote Hank Williams all you need to write a good song is “three chords and the truth”. As an artist, who or what do you think had the biggest impact on your overall sound and style? Again, Gillian Welch has been my big inspiration for so many years but also I grew up listening to country and rock music so that is definitely in there as well as songwriters such as Bob Dylan who’s probably my number one inspiration if I really was gonna pick one artist. As an artist going through this COVID-19 pandemic, what do you do to stay inspired in these tough times? I've actually been so lucky as to have written and recorded a whole album remotely during this time. I'm super excited to release this music to the world soon, and also getting the 2nd Rainy Eyes album mixed as we speak! We recorded last Summer and I'm really stoked to get those songs out there as well! Lots of good stuff happening and I know this is a really tough time for so many folks, and I'm excited to share some love and light with the world to brighten spirits and bring inspiration and hope for the future. Thank you for talking with us Rainy Eyes! What can fans expect from you next? Thank you for including me! Well, as I said I got an album soon to be released, and another one in the works with my new musical collaboration, really good stuff and I can't wait to share, please stay tuned @rainyeyesmusic, Instagram
