- Jack Ducker Is Going Strong With His Solo Debut As He Releases His Second Studio Single, “My Love”
Dousing listeners in a big sound, the multifaceted Jack Ducker wows his audience yet again with his nostalgic artistry. The artist, writer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist from Kingston, London, takes influence from indie and folk alongside undertones of funk, psychedelia, and rock, allowing his music to nod to the 70s with a contemporary twist. Making the transition from producer to artist, Jack Ducker brings forth his second single from his debut EP, “My Love.” Being the title track to grace this project, the self-produced, written, recorded, mixed, and mastered masterpiece takes us into a brilliant expression of Jack Ducker as a musical architect. With a resonant bassline that has us grooving to each melody produced on “My Love,” there’s much to admire throughout the instrumentation. Layers of simplicity let this record speak for itself, all while cutting through with a textured yet elegant nature. Never overwhelmed by the resonant components that make up the musical framework, there’s a time and place for each element as the analog approach has us appreciating the roots of musical recordings. The lively percussion patterns kick in at the chorus and hold a classic rock meets folk tenacity, while you can feel the soul emanated by the funk fueling the bassline. Once you incorporate the lilting timbres that Jack Ducker brings forth, the alleviated tone in which he naturally conveys a tongue-in-cheek narrative of the miss-timings of love and all the problems that this can convey sits prominently in our minds. He has a hypnotic manner in which he expresses each lyrical motif, and there’s no doubt about it – we’re swept away. Portraying such ease in his persona, Jack Ducker instills a timeless factor into his records in such an immense way. Leaving us highly anticipating the EP as a whole, we can’t wait to hear what’s in store come 2023 and Jack Ducker's release “My Love” for the world to feast upon. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jack Ducker. We’re overjoyed to have you here chatting about your latest release, “My Love.” Having worked in the industry producing and writing for other artists for the past several years, how does it feel to be releasing music as a solo artist? Thank you so much for having me; it’s an honor to be here on BuzzMusic. Releasing music can be quite daunting; being so involved from start to finish makes it quite hard to let go sometimes! It’s getting a little easier now I’ve wrapped my head around it, but I’m not sure it will ever be taken for granted. Writing for other artists has its difficulties too, but I often feel I’m just aiding another’s creative process/story. Releasing your material means you are the judge, the jury, and the executioner, so it can all be a bit much sometimes. You have a knack for bringing such comforting ease through your music. In the single “My Love,” what inspired this energy and the overall origin of the song? I think of the album as being quite relatable, talking about everyday encounters in a way that hopefully most people can connect to. “My Love” is an extension of this, a fun tongue and cheek take on a mistimed romance. Although we’d like to think love is simple, like in the movies, most of us agree it’s not always like that! Being the second single to come from your forthcoming EP, what inspired you to release it at this point in time? Is there a method for the rollout? The order I’m releasing is more based on the order in which I like to enjoy the EP. I happen to think it’s the best way for the listener to enjoy it, too, so hey, let’s hope they don’t press shuffle! How do you allow your musical influences of White Denim, Big Thief, The Black Keys and Bleachers, Sam Fender, and Palo Nutini to speak into your sound? Did it take you a while to establish this route of your artistry? The recording, mixing, and mastering process can influence one sound almost as much as the songwriting itself. So not only am I influenced by the message and style of songwriting but also by the sonic sphere created by each artist. It’s definitely taken some time to master getting things to sound how I want them, I’m always learning, but I strive to achieve a raw organic approach to the writing and recording process, just like my influences. What does the entire concept of 'Jack Ducker,' the EP, mean to you? This EP is more of a grouping of relatable observations and experiences than a concept. The concept will become more prominent when I release my full-length album. But as of now, this EP is a fun collection of songs I wanted to put out there to give the listener a feel of what I’m about. Instagram Twitter
- Tour Through The Abstract Effervescence Of "Citadel"
The creative brainchild of producer and former tech entrepreneur Michael Moppert, Sonarpilot is a fascinating exploration of sound to fuel further creative endeavors. Taking listeners on an extensive sonic venture, the sounds from Sonarpilot have listeners unraveling broad influences ranging from 12th-century monastic choirs to left-field modern electronica to 1950s jazz - from Brian Eno to the Beatles and Bach again. Touching on the most recent projects to come from Sonarpilot, Michael Moppert set out on a collaborative course with Roger Mader and London-based DJ and producer Jonny Miller to bring life to the following. The Mirage Project: Season 1, released in 2020, and The Mirage Project: Season 2 – which is fresh to the scene with video transmissions from alternate dimensions en route. The European trio is embarking on the second installment from this project with "Citadel," – a record that is introspective yet powerful through the electronic dynamics fostered. As we absorb the interstellar magnetism that's conveyed through the spellbinding and galactic visuals, we realize just how brilliantly this filmic component accompanies the riveting sonic contributions as you absorb each dimension of earnestness and poise visited through the soundwaves. Michael Moppert took editing into his own hands as the integrity of Sonarpilot's chronicle gets told in a remarkably breathtaking way. The graphic images that swarm your screen induce a hyper-trance-like state that awakes you. Through a psychedelic fusion of an ethereal realm that emanates power, the eye-catching visuals will make you feel like you're in a hallucination. Progressing from scene to scene, the "Citadel" visuals truly fit into the scope of a body of work titled The Mirage Project. Fluctuating from indistinct silhouettes lacing the background to protruding 3D structures resembling power, elegance, and monument, the myriad of effects Sonarpilot instills in this music video makes the entirety of its substance. From being swallowed, reiterated, distorted, discolored, and reimagined from every possible perspective, the progression takes hold of us as we reach the final destination, and "Citadel" impactfully fades from our screen – leaving us to reflect on the harmony amongst the darkness. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Sonarpilot! We're thrilled to have you here, giving us a more in-depth look into "Citadel." With such an abstract and powerful visualization portrayed what inspired the origin of this music video concept? "Citadel" is part of a whole series of strange journeys into an enigmatic parallel universe called The Mirage Project. We invite our audience to join us on audiovisual trips that take them out of their everyday reality to explore wondrous worlds deep in the digital realm. There's a lovely quote by Albert Einstein, who said: "Art is standing with one hand extended into the universe and one hand extended into the world." This is the place where we want to be with The Mirage Project. When we are very young, everything around us is a miracle that we see for the first time. When we get older, our brains develop a certain model of the world, and we tend to pay less attention to the things around us. I'd like to create moments that give us back that sense of wonderment, even if it is just for a few minutes. I mean, we are in a really amazing place, right between the unfathomable vastness of space above us and the completely weird subatomic realm right below the surface of all things. And here we are, trying to figure out our place in this incomprehensible cosmos. This never ceases to amaze me. This sense of wonderment is the starting point for the whole Mirage Project. There's so much detail that we get entangled in as we watch through the music video. How long did it take you, Roger Mader, and Jonny Miller to bring this piece to life? There is indeed a massive amount of work that goes into these mirages. There are our two elements, audio, and visuals, and I try to work on them in parallel to make sure that the soundtrack works with the video in an optimal way. The visuals are based on fractal technology. Fractals are everywhere in nature; they determine the shape of a galaxy, or a coastline, or this very cool-looking romanesco broccoli with its spiral structures. We take a bunch of fractal formulas and feed them into a computer, and after a few days of number crunching, the machine spits out a sequence of pictures that we put together to generate an animation. For "Citadel", the rendering of those basic animations took about 5,000 hours or 200 days of non-stop calculations. We are faster, as we are using a small rendering farm with multiple computers – but it's still a lot of work. When we have these initial animations, I begin to jot down ideas for the soundtrack. What would be the best vibe to accompany us on our journey into this world? After that, I begin to put together the video. I tweak and layer the basic animations until I have a visual journey that I find interesting. Along the way, I create a first version of the soundtrack, put all things together, and begin finetuning the flow of the experience. I am a slow producer, and there are a lot of details in the video and the soundtrack that are important to make things really look smooth. So, this whole process takes about two months. It is a crazy amount of work. But it is very satisfying to create a whole new world that no one has ever seen before, and we hope that our audience likes these journeys as much as we do. After taking a 15-year hiatus from all use of sound equipment, what inspired your ostentatious return to the industry? As a teenager, I fell in love with making music. I discovered that, for me, creating music is an emotional home. I just love to sit in the studio and dive into whatever I am working on. As a young adult, I ran a recording studio for a few years, and from there, I gravitated into the tech industry. That was in the early 1990s, and the internet was a super exciting environment, moving much faster than the saturated music industry. So, I cut a deal with myself – do the commercial thing, have fun while doing it, and exit at the right time to go back and create music. I guess it's a fairly common plan that young musicians are toying with. And it rarely works. But, hey, I made it. After a very exciting run in the tech world, I re-opened my studio and began to work. And the lovely thing was that it felt like coming home. I never looked back. With "Citadel" being the second installment released from The Mirage Project: Season 2, how would you say it compares to "Pandora"? The two videos explore different sections of the Mirage cosmos. "Pandora" is a bit rougher. "Citadel" is very dreamy and takes us even farther into a world that borders the abstract. I love these moments where things begin to dissolve into a dance of shapes and colors, and "Citadel" definitely takes this to the next level. But I guess both journeys are still in the same quadrant of the Mirage cosmos. We do have other episodes in this season of The Mirage Project that will take us to places that go well beyond these two initial journeys. So, stay tuned! What can your audience expect to see and hear next from you? Season 2 of The Mirage Project has eight episodes. So far, we have released two of them, "Citadel" and "Pandora"; the rest will follow throughout 2023. In parallel, we are working on a number of ideas to make use of the wealth of material we have created for this season. One project is to show the Mirages in larger spaces, either in cinemas or in an immersive environment that you can visit and walk around in. We are also discussing a series of remixes. Over the last ten years, we have been working with electronic artists around the globe on remixing projects. The soundtracks of The Mirage Project are very rich and, therefore, perfect for such collaborations. And then there's, of course, the question of where we will go after season 2 to create Mirages that are even bolder, wilder, and more abstract. One avenue I am currently exploring in that context is the use of Artificial Intelligence to create new, amazing worlds. So, we have a pretty full pipeline. We are very much looking forward to exploring all these avenues and coming back with more amazing journeys to share with you! Facebook Instagram
- The Summit Hits The Road In “Hit Me Up”
The Summit is back with “Hit Me Up,” their new single with the best of vintage rock and roll. The Summit is a rock and roll band from Cincinnati, Ohio. They carry a huge musical heritage on their shoulder, and oh man, they rock it. They are Chris Scott on the vocals, Mike Hennel on the drums and vocals, Coty Hicks on the guitar, Michael Walker on the bass, and Brian Arkkelin on the guitar and vocals. The production and mixing of “Hit Me Up” is a great work of Will Turpin and Jonathan Beckner at Real 2 Reel. With the band, they managed to create a song that immerses you in a story, maybe a memory from good old times on the road or with your family. At the same time, it is a charge of euphoria and life with classic rock and roll style. When hitting the play button on “Hit Me Up,” the bass and drums announce it will be a great trip. The guitars put you in the mood with paused and energizing chords. Then the vocals are so emotional and exciting that you cannot help but raise your voice and sing along. The instrumentals are incredible, but the solo is just stunning. This is what you seek. “Hit Me Up” reminds us of the classic we listened to growing up. The lyrics place you on the road. The distorted guitar riff sounds like an engine, and the vocals are potent and smooth, like the wind caressing your skin. “Hit Me Up” is euphoric and powerful. It sounds like freedom. It reflects the essence of rock and roll. Grab your aviators, smile in the mirror, and turn up the volume when hitting the play button on “Hit Me Up.” Welcome to BuzzMusic The Summit, and congratulations on your latest release, "Hit Me Up." What experience took you to make such an exciting song as “Hit Me Up?” Chris Scott: our guitar player, Coty Hicks, was toying around with a riff at rehearsal, and we just talked about writing a simple 70’s inspired rock tune. I think the entire song was written in like 30 minutes. We instantly fell into it, and it became the theme for the record, Firebirds and Aviators, which we hope to launch in early 2023. What was the most rewarding moment of making “Hit Me Up?” Chris Scott: for me, I think it was piecing the story together with friend and producer Will Turpin of Collective Soul. We had most of the lyrics done when we got to the studio, but Will and I were sitting in the control room one night throwing ideas at each other, and he started to drop some pretty dope southern-accented lines (he is a Georgia native). The little things like “am I out on the road burnin’ too much gas..?” and “am I desert bound or California clean..”? Just the way he sang those lines, I knew we were heading in the right direction. Those organic moments are always the coolest. How did making “Hit Me Up” impact The Summit? Chris Scott: The Summit has had a lot of success over the past 4-5 years. We released a few EPs but spent so much time on the road that we couldn’t get everything tracked and released. I think answering the “Hit Me Up” question is the rebirth of The Summit. Mike, Walker, and I brought Coty Hicks into the band as our primary guitar player, and he’s been so uplifting in so many ways. He’s the baby of the group, but his writing and playing are beyond his years. We can’t be happier with what he’s brought to the table so far. We also recently hired Brian Arkkelin to complement Coty on guitar duties. Brian played with Mike and me in the short-lived but successful band, The Quilts. Killer lead player with an amazing stage presence. All in all, we are very excited about the future! What feelings describe “Hit Me Up” for The Summit? Chris Scott: Will Turpin and Mike (Hennel) discuss this in the studio? They both described the tune as having “aviators on, muscle car-driving, windows rolled down, radio cranked kind of feel to it. Hence, the full-length release title is “Firebirds and Aviators.” What's next for you? Chris Scott: The plan is to release six consecutive singles and then release the album. As I mentioned, Will Turpin of Collective Soul is producing the songs at his amazing place in Atalanta, GA. He‘s the owner and operator of Reel 2 Real Studios, which is where Collective Soul got their start. That whole relationship started with us supporting them on the road. We all formed a pretty incredible friendship and Will, particularly, took a lot of interest in what Mike and I were doing with The Summit. The rest was history, I guess. We also just got off the road with ZZ Top..again:) This was like our 30th show or something with those guys. Another group we have been blessed to play with over the last few years. They are the best crew in the biz! Besides being legends, they have always been so kind and generous to us. It was pretty somber not seeing Dusty (Hill) this time. Elwood Francis (their longtime guitar tech) took over bass duties. He’s been with them for so long that you could still feel Dusty’s presence. Instagram Facebook

Listening to “Thrill Of The Ride” starts with hip-hop drums and a melodic electric guitar, accompanied by synth notes that create a chilling ambiance. The instrumentals welcome Aaron John's vocals. His singing skills are notorious, managing to add an emotional touch to the track. Besides, the lyrics are inspiring, and his love for traveling is contagious. The lyrics talk about how traveling makes the big picture of the world clearer. It can be mysterious and scary, but the mystery reveals itself as you learn from places and people. After debuting as a solo artist with “Fresh” in April 2022, my second single, “Thill Of The Ride," showcases my songwriting and vocals. It is a great introduction to my music as a new emerging artist. I hope this song will bring in some new listeners and get my audience excited for more great music coming from me in 2023. What would you like your listeners to picture when listening to “Thrill Of The Ride?” Driving freely down a long windy road and rolling the window down to enjoy beautiful mountainous scenery. Is there something you would like to say to your listeners that you couldn’t express in “Thrill Of The Ride?” Life is too short always to be worrying. What's next for you? I plan to perform many more solo shows with my looper pedal in 2023, live streaming on Twitch, and release more original music. It is an exciting time for me as an artist, and I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on. Instagram Facebook
- Pack Your Bags For An Enticing "Day Trip" With Lucas Writer
2019 had Boston native Lucas Writer embarking on his musical journey and showcasing his artistry to the world through a series of released singles. The melodic, catchy, and thought-provoking essence of his sound is further being developed in NYC as Lucas Writer has transplanted himself there to grow in his pursuit of music and an ever-growing brand. As we dive into the lush guitar riffs and vibrant harmonies that greet us upon pressing play on Lucas Writer's latest single, "Day Trip," we're transported to a pulsating atmosphere of alluring grooves and enriching energy. With a knack for fitting enthralling rhyme schemes into the musical pocket of the beat, Lucas Writer takes advantage of the peaks and valleys heard in the instrumentation allowing his lyrics to paint vivid imagery that takes us on a first-hand day trip inside his mind. From a songwriting perspective, we love how Lucas Writer's ability to shine a light on being fully present through this journey in the clouds allows us to be pulled in and present on the musical essence of "Day Trip." The track is rich in a narrative with our imagination running rampant as we bask in lyrical motifs like, "Cause the road is our home now. I'm feeling like we're homebound. But there is no destination awaiting. We just live for the moment." Featuring Diana Marie, who accompanies Lucas Writer to produce well-rounded melodies that wrap you in a feel-good essence, these two share a brilliant dynamism. Yet, at the same time, the focus teeters between who is taking the lead on the invigorating pre-chorus and hook. Demonstrating that music is merely the tip of the iceberg for Lucas Writer, he ensures his listeners are brought on a sonic journey through each move he makes. With no signs of letting up on this emerging songwriter, Lucas Writer has us following along with his every move. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Lucas Writer! We're thrilled to have you here discussing your latest single release, "Day Trip." You bring forth such optimistic energy through this song, which we could all use more of in this day and age. Do you often take this approach to your music? My approach when it comes to my music is to spread hope in some way, shape, or form. Even if the stories that I tell aren't always positive, I feel that whether something good or bad happens, there's something to take away from it. I want the truth behind my lyrics to resonate deeply with my listeners, just like it does for me. With each lyric of this single grasping onto the thrill of packing your bags and heading out for a journey of the unexpected, what moment or story inspired the imaginative concept of "Day Trip"? The name of the actual beat was called Day Trip, and the moving graphic displayed a car going through a scenic backroad. The opening line of the song "We can take a Day Trip" was the first thing that popped in my mind. From there, I imagined myself on my own Day Trip, and that's how I was able to write the lyrics to the song. What has been your favorite trip that you've taken to date? What made it special for you? My girlfriend had surprised me with a trip to Miami, Florida, during the pandemic. The flights were so cheap, and we were still in a long-distance relationship. We would come to see each other every three weeks alternating between New York and Boston. The thing about the trip was she was telling me what to pack, and I was totally oblivious to the whole trip. This was our first vacation together, and it was one we desperately needed. Everything from the food to being on the beach to our date night to enjoying each other's company made it very special and memorable. The dynamic between yourself and Diana Marie brings a diverse life to this song. What was it like working with Diana Marie to bring this song to the public ear? I love working with other artists in general, but I really enjoy working with artists that I'm a fan of. When we started the session, I did my parts first, and then she did her parts. Whenever I'm featuring someone on a record, I can already hear if their voice will fit with the record. I knew she'd be perfect for the song, and I wasn't wrong about it. Her voice accompanied mine perfectly, but it elevated the track to another level. I believe the best moments are when a song comes out exactly how you heard it. It's such an amazing feeling and accomplishment. We're so excited to hear that you're currently working on your debut EP, "A Cheesy EP." Taking time to construct this project where patience is key, what are you able to shine a light on what we can expect to hear from it? Expect to hear simple love songs with nostalgic, cheesy/corny, and vibrant elements to them. I purposely did not do too much and chose to keep it simple but add certain elements that give the tracks some versatility. I cannot wait to hear the response and how people are living with the music. This is just the beginning of more music, but I'm so glad to get this EP out and let people hear these songs for themselves. Instagram
- Feel the Angst of Press Your Luck’s New Single, "In My Bones"
Blending captivating melodies with catchy lyrics, Detroit, Michigan is home to the energetic rock band Press Your Luck. Comprised of Ricky Fries (vocals), Jim Ash (rhythm guitar), Brandon Howcroft (lead guitar), Nick Thibodeau (drums), aka Thibby, and Nick Steadman (bass), aka Steady, this group has been acquainted for the better part of their lives. Bearing their latest single, "In My Bones," this amplified release comes as part of their forthcoming EP, 'Painfully Aware,' which is set to release in early 2023. As the band conjures up the adored dynamism they're meticulously known for, this single delves into nuances of the tragedy of heartache after a breakup. Braving the vulnerability that comes from this stature's highly relatable subject matter, the intensified vitality hailing from this record is meant to relate with everyone far and wide. Powerful guitar riffs sizzle throughout this track as the impactful rhythm keeps the lively tempo moody and dramatic. Painting vivid imagery with the gritty lyrics shed, there's a raw sincerity that's immensely professed as we take in every word. Ricky Fries goes on to say, "Everyone has experienced a heartbreak in one way or another, and if there's a line or two in this song that can resonate with somebody who's really going through it, I think that's pretty cool." Teaming up with production architect Dave Miseveth at Tuxedo Avenue Studios, Press Your Luck excels at conveying the emotion behind its melodic concepts. You can hear it in how Ricky Fries croons with utter passion, how Thibby and Steady manipulate the rhythm to create empowering grooves, and how Jim Ash and Brandon Howcroft feed into the energy of the charismatic riffs performed. Listen to the larger-than-life teaser "In My Bones" from the highly anticipated EP "Painfully Aware." Welcome to BuzzMusic, Press Your Luck, and congratulations on capturing such vivid imagery to match the passion heard in "In My Bones." We can genuinely say the song's title matches the intensity we feel. With heartbreak being so widely regarded, is this record based on a particular instance or all of your experience combined? Thank you! Man, what a compliment. It’s been great to get feedback like this and hear how the song and video are received. Regarding the writing process, we started with a broad overture of a theme. Still, during the course of finalizing these songs, a couple of us went through some rough times romantically, and it seems to have permeated through in the final version of the record. That’s what I love about music, though; it’s really a time-stamp of a certain point in time for both the artist and the audience. The detail heard throughout the production makes this record a standout. What was it like working with Dave Miseveth to create the energy felt? Dave is great! He’s so patient, kind, and knowledgeable, for that matter. It’s nice to have an objective opinion in the room that you can trust without too much outside input on how a song should go. It’s a fine line to toe, but his comic relief and “take it or leave” advice are always very much appreciated and welcomed. He has always gone above and beyond for us; we wouldn't be here without him. Truly a pleasure to work with. I also want to shout out to Lance Prenc, who did an incredible job mixing and mastering these tracks. He captured the feel of what we were going for and made these songs “Pop!” with little to no corrections from us. Between the two of these guys’ quality of work and professionalism, I think we came up with something pretty enjoyable to the ear. What musical and non-musical influences do you allow to inspire your music? I’ll honestly listen to anything under the sun that sounds good, at that moment, to me. I’m sure the bulk of my ideas come from when I have the heat on my feet and a hand out the window on a chilly summer night driving down an empty freeway. That's my happy place. I could have some pop-punk playing, or it could be Drake. It might even be country if I have the radio on. Sometimes, it’s no music; whatever is scratching the itch at that time. Most of my influences come to me when my mind is quiet like that. What words of advice do you have for your audience dealing with a heartbreak they can't seem to shake? I’m by no means someone that should give other people advice on anything. But I will say the biggest factor is just time. You have to trust that it gets better, and the only thing that can make that happen is time. However, you also need a way to “download” those feelings into something else that’s preferably positive/creative (and if it gets you out of the house and moving, it's even better!). It could be journaling, running, writing songs, or singing your guts out to an empty freeway at night, but if you do those things long enough, you eventually start to feel better. Whether it's a breakup or a death in the family, heartbreak hurts the same, but it does eventually get easier. I feel like too many people these days don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel. Just keep going and trust that it's there, and when you make it through the other side, you're a stronger person for having walked into the tunnel in the first place. We're thrilled to hear the talk about a new EP coming in 2023! What can we expect from this project? This EP will be a good taster for what's to come, but I can’t say it's all going to “taste” the same. These chosen few songs will do a good job showcasing our sound and what we’re capable of as a whole. Of course, as our lives change, so does the music, so there’s no telling how our sound will mature. We are hitting 2023 hard, and we hope to see the fans along for the ride with us having a good time when they come to a show! Facebook Instagram

Seamlessly blending genres into catchy, inspirational, and dance-inducing songs, he's a quadruple threat with a multitude of experiences throughout the entertainment industry. Fueled by an energetic demeanor, you hear the lilting effervescence that Husslaah so immaculately conveys. His vocalization has a gritty texture that allows him to stray from the processed and polished resonance, which in turn has him standing out from the crowd. With determination in his voice, Husslaah overpoweringly articulates each word with conviction as his rhyme schemes glide in and out of the beat's pocket. Pervaded with darker nuances and an immense sense of urgency, the styling of the instrumentation accompanies Husslaah's vocals with ease. You'll catch yourself in the swing of bopping your head to the impeccably timed emphasis placed on each rhyme and with lyrics like, "Coming to you as a Visionary. Be prepared for what's about to carry. It's the baddest no it's legendary. Are you ready, ready - really ready?" Husslaah is cementing himself as an emcee with finesse. The soul he embodies through his vigorously potent persona has Husslaah oozing charisma. So make sure you put "Legendary Vision" on your favorite playlist and hype yourself up every moment. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Husslaah! Congratulations on the release of "Legendary Vision." We love the energy you place into this record. It truly is infectious! With such a bold song making a statement about who you are, what inspired the creation and meaning of this song? After listening to the rhythm and tone of the beat, it gave me a Stomp the Yard and Step Up vibe. With that, I knew what kind of song I wanted to create! Some of the mini-stories include some of my friends not believing in me, some people being petty, and also the attention of a few girls. With all this being said, the overall vibe of the song is meant to be uplifting and empowering to follow through on your passions and surpass your own goals and achievements. If releasing "Legendary Vision" wasn't enough, you also have a remix that's currently out now! What was it like working with Dhol to produce this rendition? So the "Dhol" is the name of a set of Punjabi percussion instruments. Having these instruments to remix the originally worked wonders for the music video as I had a Bhangra choreographer and dancers along with hip-hop dancers. In high school, I took in a lot of the Indian culture and music and even learned how to sing quite a few songs! How have your musical influences of Busta Rhymes, Sean Paul, Shaggy, Ludacris, and Eminem, helped you form your own sound? Aside from growing up listening to those powerhouses, I hosted karaoke about a decade ago and found that there's an energy within myself that creates a spark in the room where ever I performed. I even won the grand prize at one of the competitions! We're thrilled to hear about an album brewing on your end! What can you tell us about this project in the works? Ahh the album! Well, as my EP was more of me testing out my sound with my listeners, the album will be more of a curated ensemble of my experiences, lyrical talent, my high energy, and emotional release. What's your mission statement as an artist? It not only takes work, but it also takes patience. Be true to yourself and consistently pursue what you're passionate about. Don't worry about what other people are doing. It takes the time it takes. Instagram

With such a beautifully crafted record packed with intention, is there a moment or story that inspired the heartfelt lyrics in "Collide"? I wrote this song about my own relationship, which is rooted in our spiritual connection. I believe that we shine brighter together. I believe this to be true for anyone that finds love with the right person. Your spirit and soul should ignite brighter than the sun. Love is a spiritual and energetic connection sent from God. It goes beyond what words can describe but I tried my best to express it in my lyrics and visually in my music video. There's so much brilliant detail in this record's overall mix and production. Could you please highlight the team that helped you put it together? What role did each person play in bringing this song to fruition? This song was originally written by myself and Reggie Pierre, with me playing the keyboard and him playing the beat on a table. We started producing the music around it during the Covid lockdown. Once we built the structure and had the right energy, we started adding in our live musicians. We had Martin Fredrikkson play live bass at his home, Greg Barnum record live drums, and we recorded Teddy Studstill's electric guitar outside in our backyard. We worked on the arrangement of the song with Joel Levy at Criteria Recording Studios in Miami and had Grammy-winning, Javier Valverde as our mix engineer. Joel pushed us creatively with the song arrangement. Just when we thought it was done, he had more homework for us. Javier did such a great job on the mix and added the magical final touches. It was mastered by Mike Fuller at Fullersound in Miami. Everyone played such a critical role in this creation. It was an extremely talented group of people, and an honor and privilege to work with them all. With an extensive list of musical inspirations like Marvin Gaye, Teena Marie, Erykah Badu, Bob Marley, Elvis, Biggie Smalls, and Michael Jackson, how have you been able to take their influence into the music you craft today? There are so many details that go into their music; from the vocal delivery, energy, beds of background vocals, positive messages, stage presence, and costumes. This can only come from true passion, love, and attention to detail. They created timeless music for all ages and audiences. I wouldn't say that I sound like any of them or copy any of their styles. I just have a respect for their artistry, their classiness and the fact that they weren't afraid to be different. They set a high bar, and I strive to create in that same way. I put love into every detail: the music, my costumes, and even when I edit my music videos. I'm continuing to grow as an artist and producer and am enjoying the process. What message would you like your audience to take away from the sounds of "Collide"? I wanted the song to be something you could dance to, a feel-good song to forget about the stresses of life and enjoy positive vibes. I think I needed that for myself as well. This song was fully live, and I feel like it's a strong representation of me and my sound. What can we expect from you next? New music is already in the works. - "Pickup" The Heartfelt Message noah. Puts Down In His Poignant New Single
Toronto is home to singer-songwriter noah., who continues to keep listeners on their toes as he's made his debut on the music scene this year. With only two songs out, he's following up with the latest sonic venture, "Pickup," – a brilliant demonstration of his consistency and the exhilarating energy he brings forth as a creative. The lulling sounds dip into a realm of contemporary R&B and pop as he blends these genres to contribute to a sound unique to his persona and experiences. "Pickup" drenches us in the delicate ease of acoustic guitar riffs and wavy synths and pads, all while being accompanied by intriguing percussion patterns that set a tempo, further creating an atmosphere of anticipation. We're hooked on the instrumentation noah. instills on this record as a genuine chronicle that many of us can relate to. From the moment "Pickup" immerses our speakers in authentic emotion, we're drawn towards noah. 's magnetism in the music he produces. He is professing his feelings in a thought-provoking manner as he serenades the apple of his eye and reassures her that he will never leave her, no matter the doubts she carries around through each season. His soulful croons emit dynamic harmonies that fill this composition with an abundance of sentiment. With the lyrical motif, "when I call you better pickup," being prominently professed through silky repercussions, it's clear that noah. will stop at nothing to ensure she knows he truly loves her. There's a profound quintessence that noah. emanates as he conveys opulent lyrics through poignant timbres. Roping us into his storytelling skillset, we're thrilled to hear what noah. has waiting for us in the future. Welcome to BuzzMusic, noah.! Congratulations on the release of your latest single, "Pickup." We love how your lyrics ring true and allow us to grasp the concept in such a direct way. Is this song inspired by a particular moment or story you lived through? Pickup isn't inspired really by one specific moment in time, but I feel like I actually pulled from a few points in time in relationships where you feel you might start drifting from that person a bit, but can't help but still try and hold on. I had a lot of fun writing this one as I was able to mix in some more entertaining lyrics with that overall theme. How did you get started on your musical journey? Has music always been something you wanted to pursue? I started singing and songwriting with a couple of close friends from university, and we put out a few tracks and projects together for a while. They helped me develop my sound to what it is today, and it's been cool to see us all branch out and work as individual artists while still collaborating pretty frequently. What is it like tapping into that part of your heart and mind when creating such a whole-hearted record? Do you find you have to create when you're in the emotion, or can you revisit it at a later date? Probably like most artists, I always find that my writing always turns out best when tapping directly into past experiences, emotions, or something like that. Everything just flows so much easier at least from a writing perspective. And there's always time to revisit and revise, but I feel like some of my best songwriting has been done in a 1-2 hour space where I'm really in that mood. What non-musical aspirations do you have? Do you feel these outlets bring you inspiration when it comes to making music? I actually do a bit of modeling on the side as well, and I've been trying to also put more time into that and get more experience in that field. Influence from photographers and other models in some of my favorite shots and projects this year have really helped to inspire the visuals behind my two releases so far and have given me great inspo for future videos and covers coming soon. What can we expect to see and hear from you in 2023? I'm planning a couple of other singles for early next year that I feel will branch out a bit from the type of music I've put out so far—hoping to also follow those up with a bigger project soon. Stay tuned. :) Instagram
- Tedd Hazard Rages With Soul In A Captivating New Album, 'Destructive Criticism'
Hailing from Hazelton, Pennsylvania, singer-songwriter and eclectic recording artist Tedd Hazard throws us into a rag-tag, old-timey folk listening experience with his recent 17-track album, Destructive Criticism. Tedd Hazard has spent the last decade touring the eastern side of the United States while pumping out tunes across various genres. His wide array of musical influences includes punk, folk, blues, jazz, and swing, and he is known for his honest lyrics, catchy hooks, angry delivery, and refreshing songwriting. His latest album, Destructive Criticism, is a prime example of his exceptional and entertaining musical abilities. The album comes out blazing with the fiery introductory track, "Gatekeeper," jumping through the speakers with incredible energy. The soaring and beat-driven folk atmosphere leaves us tapping our feet while Tedd Hazard's witty lyricism and raspy delivery keep our attention locked in for the ride. He continues this harmonica-heavy and melodic folk vibe with track number two, "Insurance Policy." While feeding us hilarious lyricism that's entertaining and relatable, Tedd Hazard puts on one hell of a performance alongside his glimmering and high-energy folk instrumentals that never fail to start a fire in our speakers. Landing on the album's third and title track, "Destructive Criticism," Tedd Hazard continues the harmonica-laden vibe but with more of a cut-throat, heavy-hitting delivery. The rhythm gradually expands and increases into this head-bopping hellscape, melting our speakers with Tedd Hazard's ferocious delivery that stops us dead in our tracks. When life gets "Shitty," listen to Tedd Hazard for a pick-me-up. This song tackles the theme of a friend who is a big old piece of shit. While Tedd Hazard continues telling us about this shitty friend, the sweet folk instrumentals linger in from the background to complete this wildly entertaining listening experience. Reaching the album's fifth track, "Marquee," Tedd Hazard throws himself into rage-filled vulnerability while expressing how he wants us to like him. Don't worry, Tedd; you are one of the most entertaining acts to grace our magazine. This song weirdly reminds us of Karma Chameleon by Culture Club, but with Tedd Hazard's familiar folk rage. Entering the sixth track, "Cancel Me," Tedd Hazard heads into familiar territory with themes of cancel culture and, frankly, how ridiculous it can get. The bluesy piano, alongside the pounding drums and rich folk instrumentals, leaves us stomping our feet and chanting CANCEL ME at the top of our lungs. On track seven, "Nihilistic Northeast Pennsylvania," Tedd Hazard sings ye old tune of his stomping grounds alongside punchy folk-rock instrumentals and his forceful vocal flairs. It doesn't get much better than Tedd Hazard's witty lyrics and harsh delivery, keeping your attention locked from lyric to lyric. Slowing things down a bit is track eight, "Anarchist Hotel," opening with a bluesy banjo that strums its way to our hearts. Tedd Hazard doesn't take long to switch the atmosphere completely and invite us to the "Anarchist Hotel" with his heated delivery, storytelling lyrics, and the stellar addition of a wailing electric guitar. Landing on the album's ninth track and halfway point, "Kody," we're met with rich harmonica melodies and dreamy folk instrumentals. As Tedd Hazard's powerful vocal delivery meets our speakers, he fiercely serenades us with the relatable lyricism of two ships passing in the night, just out of reach from each other. Bringing back the plucky banjo introduction is track ten, "House on the Hill," which quickly expands into another foot-stomping bluesy folk atmosphere. Tedd Hazard dives into necessary themes of politics in this track while staying away from the dreaded "House on the Hill" at all costs. It's "2 AM," and Tedd Hazard is plucking away at his banjo, ramping up all the soul and power possible. The album's eleventh track looks at Tedd Hazard's late-night thoughts and motives, which see him on the road with his best friend, sleep deprivation. We're sure listeners will find a piece of themselves in this dynamic tune. The flaming energy continues in track twelve, "Miserable Young Man," with Tedd Hazard's angry yet charismatic vocal delivery that makes us smile. In this track, he smokes the speakers alongside his upbeat folk-rock instrumentals that leave us gasping for air amid their uptempo energy. It's another solid addition to this ultra-unique album that showcases the wickedly entertaining stylings of Tedd Hazard. The blunt lyricism is high in track number thirteen, "Blue Lights Matter," where the rich folk-rock and blues-packed instrumentals smack our speakers in dense melodies and infectious rhythms. The transition and instrumental breakdown near the outro add this dynamic layer to the song that keeps us wanting more. And luckily, we get more. The album's fourteenth song, "2022," kicks off with downtempo banjo strums that lead into a personal portrayal of Tedd Hazard's year. While wishing it was 2010, he continues expressing the shitstorm that was 2022 while his tasteful folk instrumentals sonically serenade us with underlying emotional tones to complete the experience. Diving into deep piano melodies is track fifteen, "Helping Hands," kicking off with mysterious piano keys and a plucky banjo that expands into a soulful and blues-ridden folk instrumental. Tedd Hazard packs a punch in this track while questioning whether his reality is deranged or if the hurtful words of these so-called "Helping Hands" are no help at all. Reaching the album's final tracks with number sixteen, "Mercy Kill," Tedd Hazard begins closing up shop with his raspy vocals and sweet-sounding folk instrumentation. While expressing how this town isn't big enough for him and another, Tedd Hazard falls into a more emotional vocal delivery that feeds us all the emotion and personality we could ask for. Landing on the album's spirited outro track, "Cocaine Elvis Vibes," the song's title is precisely what it sounds like. Tedd Hazard ramps up the energy to smack our speakers with his witty, all-too-real lyricism and lighthearted instrumentals. This is the perfect outro track to an album as unique and dynamic as Destructive Criticism, and we're sure any listener will agree. It doesn't get much better than the brutal honesty, fierce vocals, folk instrumentals, and superb vibes in Tedd Hazard's hilarious, meaningful, and entertaining new album, Destructive Criticism. Find the new 17-track record on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Tedd Hazard. Congratulations on releasing your exceptional and entertaining new album, Destructive Criticism. What inspired you to create this wildly dynamic and honest record? I wanted to do something different from what I'd been hearing. Every folk punk album I've heard in the last few records has been pretty much the same formula. I'm guilty of that, too. I wanted to do something more polished but different from anything I'd ever heard. The songs touch on some personal subject matter. Not just for me but for other people as well. It deals with things like domestic assault, gaslighting, bullying, stagnation, regret, loss, alcoholism, imposter syndrome, and mental abuse. There were a lot of things that have happened to me in the last few years that I needed to articulate through my music, and I think Destructive Criticism did a really good job of that. Out of all the humorous yet serious tracks in Destructive Criticism, was there a specific theme or concept you wanted to convey to listeners? A major theme throughout the record is finally breaking out of the bubble people seem to try and keep you in. I'm not anyone's errand boy or second best. I'm my own man, and I will do the things I want to do because I know they're potential there. I know I'm an amazing songwriter. I just wish more people could see that and not write me off as a comedy act. When creating Destructive Criticism, did you have any musical or artistic influences? What or who helped you bring the album to life? I'm not 100% sure about any musical or artistic influences. I think I've been doing this for so long that I finally muddled my sound from other artists and stopped sounding like the bands I listen to. Once I started writing on the banjo, the music took on a unique style. Joe Loftus was instrumental in that. He gave the album a dark but catchy atmosphere. Without his input and talent, it wouldn't be as good as it is. What was your favorite song to create from Destructive Criticism? Which song stands out to you the most and why? My favorite song is Helping Hands. It was originally going to be a little more upbeat, but the song became something else entirely when I added the banjo-picking part. Now it's one of my favorite songs to play live. That and the title track, Destructive Criticism. The gypsy part and the breakdown help that song stand out from the rest of the pack. Another track that I think stands out the most is House on the Hill. It seems to be the most popular one of the whole album. Who would have known? A lot of the songs on this record are incredibly unique. But I think these three stand out the most. Would you say Destructive Criticism is a good place to start for new listeners introducing themself to your music? How does this album represent you? Yes, at least for the current incarnation of my music. Who knows where I'll end up next? Maybe I'll get bored with the banjo and make a rockabilly record. But this record is definitely the best representation of my music. Even though it isn't completely full band, which is what a lot of my shows these days are. It's definitely the closest thing to it. What's next for you? I'm planning two tours in 2023 and, hopefully, a full-band EP of some older songs. The Tedd Hazard Experience, the full band version of my solo project, has been working on some great arrangements of some Tedd Hazard classics. It'll only be drums, banjo, bass, and harmonica. Maybe some piano. Bare-bones stuff. We had discussed adding a guitar, but we've decided against it. I think it would just ruin our chemistry. I've also started writing some newer songs that I'm not planning to release for a long time. The two years I worked on the songs for Destructive Criticism seemed to help these songs reach their full potential, and I'm looking to repeat that process on the next album. Instagram Facebook
