They would like to hear those words from you! Hit the play button on “The Way” and get your ears and heart open to singing along. Welcome to BuzzMusic Janockeil, and congrats on your latest release, "The Way." Who did you write “The Way” for? I wrote The Way from a personal place. It is about the beginning of a new relationship and that optimistic feeling that it could go further than what you would hope for. But it's also about that feeling of "will this last?" or "I hope this one lasts", or "God, please let this wonderful feeling last", so it's about that classic 'butterflies in your stomach kind of love and you hope so badly that the other person feels the same way that you feel. In regards to who I wrote it for exactly, that part I'll keep to myself, but I will say it is inspired by real-life like all of my songs are. What was your greatest motivation in mind while making “The Way?” I was inspired by what occurs at the start of something new between two people. In the beginning of a relationship, it's wonderful and new and exciting and fun and scary, and those were the elements I wanted to capture. How do you expect “The Way” to impact your career? Like any artist, I hope it brings some success, whatever that looks like, but I am open and eager for the world to hear it and even more open and eager for where it will take me. Everything is in God's hands from here. What would you like to say to those who will listen to “The Way?” I hope "The Way" resonates with listeners who can relate to what it feels like to be in love or on the verge of falling in love. I've always connected with music that I can wholeheartedly relate to, and I hope this song is no different to people all over the world. We shot a music video to coincide with the release of the song, so people would not only get the actual song but the visual to go along with it. My vision was to create something that people can vibe to and have a bit of nostalgia towards, and I think we have achieved that. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite songs that I've written. It has such a vibe throughout, from the melody to the lyrics to the harmonies and background vocals, that I can't help but love it, and I hope everyone else does too. What's next for you? My new project will be released in the new year. It will include "The Way" and a host of new songs, so I look forward to that. Also, I look forward to being back on stage again, so stay tuned! - Midwave Breaks Creates A New Classic Of Rock, “In The Face Of All We Know”
From New Zealand, the duo Midwave Breaks continues building their fast lane on the alt-Rock scene with their new single “In The Face Of All We Know.” Midwave Breaks is an alternative rock duo of two seasoned musicians. Paul Russell is a well-known drummer who made it into the New Zealand Music Hall Of Fame in 2014. Bruce Conlon is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, and winner of two International Song-Writing Awards. The duo launched in 2021 and is taking the scene by storm. “In The Face Of All We Know” is an allegory of our responsibility to others. We have had it since we were young because we are the other to them. But lies and conflict between us make everyone’s life harder. We have been running out of time since we are alive, so why not use that time with love and consideration? The poetic language of the lyrics leaves the message open to consideration. Yet, it is beautiful and powerful. In any case, “In The Face Of All We Know” is the meeting point of great lyrics with exceptional instrumentals. It gives the vibes of a rock classic of the last two decades from the first second after hitting the play button. It is full of euphoria and emotions. The selection of chords and the passionate performance of “In The Face Of All We Know” create an upbeat and cinematic ambiance. It can bring memories from days long passed and make you smile. Plus, the music video enhances the experience and immerses you in the story while being amazed by the musical brilliance of Midwave Breaks. Don’t miss the opportunity of listening to the best of alt-Rock. Press play on “In The Face Of All We Know.” Welcome to BuzzMusic Midwave Breaks, and congrats on your latest release, “In The Face Of All We Know.” What took you to make such a poetic and inspiring song as “In The Face Of All We Know?” The song comes from our own experiences, reflecting on the way our own view of the world can change and develop as we get older. There’s so much division going on in the world right now; we wrote this song as a ‘note-to-self’, a reminder that life isn't just black and white; there’s always an ‘other side to any story, and if we can learn to better understand and respect our differences, maybe we could all get along. What emotions would you use to describe the making process of “In The Face Of All We Know?” The overriding emotion would be Hope. Even though the video shows some tension and conflict, it’s really about Perspective - notably, the potential to change our own perspective. We could also say Frustration was a regular emotion, as we produced the video ourselves, and it took ages to make! What did you want to transmit through the music video of “In The Face Of All We Know?” We, of course, wanted it to be visually exciting but also to make people think about the themes of the track - communication, perspective, conflict, and ultimately Hope - which can be found in acknowledging the wide range of faces that are not our own. How do you expect “In The Face Of All We Know” to influence other artists and your listeners? We want people to enjoy it! Music is beautiful in that way; it can become whatever the listener needs it to be. If it makes people want to turn it up and listen again, then we’ve made a connection. What's next for you? Currently recording new tunes. We launched in 2021, so it’s early days for us; just stoked to have our music out there and connect with an audience. Instagram Facebook
- Zach Pietrini Speaks To His “Seventeen” Self
From Chicago to Milwaukee, indie-Americana recording artist and singer-songwriter Zach Pietrini embrace the good and the bad in his sweet-sounding, reflective single, "Seventeen." Zach Pietrini's Midwestern, indie-Americana songwriting aesthetic is often compared to a comforting, go-to, well-worn denim jacket. He leads The Zach Pietrini Band with honest storytelling and a palpable wistfulness, while the band backs him up with cues from Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and David Ramirez. The Zach Pietrini Band recently released their ninth studio album, Rock & Roll is Dead, featuring the second lead single, "Seventeen." Pietrini says the single is "a nod to how we often look at things as binary" when we should acknowledge that the good and the bad happen for a reason, giving us a new perspective and helping us grow. The sweet single, "Seventeen," is quite the heartfelt, gripping tune. It starts with dreamy, melancholy acoustic guitar stums and Zach Pietrini's crooning vocals that recall a naive seventeen self, wanting to get behind the wheel but not knowing what's coming his way. Whether the tale Pietrini sings is accurate or not, it could be a metaphor for the impending chaos of growing up and the many storms, valleys, and depths that follow. The Zach Pietrini Band gradually pours their soothing and tender Americana Midwestern instrumentals through the speakers while Pietrini continues tugging at our heartstrings and inducing some weighty introspection. It's a chilling piece with melodies that will linger for hours on end and a message that'll make you think twice about dread. Speak to your "Seventeen" self with help from the chilling styles of Zach Pietrini and his band, and check out their ninth studio album, Rock & Roll is Dead, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Zach Pietrini. We genuinely admired the honesty and thoughtfulness provided in your recent single, "Seventeen." What inspired you to create this reflective piece? Thanks! Much of this album is about perspective. What were things in the past, what are they now, and what will I do about them? I was reading an article somewhere about memory. How our brains store information is less like file folders and more like a wiki page (it can change every time it's accessed), which is funny considering our youth and upbringing. There are so many things we are unaware of as kids that we can see now when we look back, but ultimately there are things now we miss from being young because we forget or have an older outlook or just can't put ourselves back in the same place we left. It’s painfully impossible to see something exactly as it was, yet we cannot see things exactly as they are in the moment. Again, this led to the overall theme that perspective is the only thing that lets us know if something is positive or negative, as demonstrated with my car in the song. I crashed it, and drove it around that suburb; I fell in love for the first time in it; I have so many memories of being with friends in it. I also got my heart broken in it. With such a range of events, it's impossible to say this was a positive or negative experience in life. It just was. My real life was somewhere between those extremes. I wanted to try and wrangle some of that. What tone or vibe did you have in mind when crafting the instrumentals for "Seventeen?" How did you want the overall sound to make listeners feel? This was a bit of a tough one for me to land on for a feel and vibe. It took three versions to land on this final one. The hardest part was to keep it engaging but not take away from the narrative by making things too complex or involved. The idea was to start small and build all the way to the end. Sometimes that can get a little too boring as you are waiting for the payoff. So we walked a bit of a tightrope on that. Ultimately I wanted it to feel nostalgic and hazy which is why we chose a Springsteen approach, synths with acoustic and other real instruments. I wanted the music to communicate the limited nature of our perspective, like seeing something through smoke or colored glass. You know what you're looking at, but you can't seem to make out every detail. What was your goal regarding the listener's experience with "Seventeen"? Did you want them to take anything specific from your lyrics? My hope was people embrace less binary thinking about life and experience. It's common for people to say things like, “I loved being 17; it was the best years of my life.” Or “I hated my early twenties; they were terrible.” Not to say that we don’t have periods of life that are better or worse than others, but I don’t think statements like that get at the complexity of existence. In reality, there are probably so many sweet moments we miss or hard moments we try and erase or not think of. When you reduce life this way, I think it reduces your ability to live, like you have less capacity to experience it. I hoped to remind people how crazy, fun, harrowing, hard, and beautiful all of it is. How does "Seventeen" fit into the concept of your recent album, Rock & Roll is Dead? How does this song add to the overall experience? As stated, this is an album about perspective over time. The title track has a bit of a dirge feel, but it's also a love song. It's about seeing something you love (Rock & Roll) fundamentally change, and even though the nature of the relationship I have with it is hard or different, I still love it. Seventeen is the piece of perspective that is foggy, some of the other songs are authentic pieces, and some others are somewhere in between. This album is a bit throwback in instrumentation, style, and feel. I wanted it to feel older than it was, like a memory. Seventeen feels like a memory to me. Instagram Facebook
- Catch IlghtchIld Dancing Under The “Rain In Tokyo”
From Tokyo to New York City, singer-songwriter and pop/Jpop recording artist IlghtchIld dances under the lonely yet lush "Rain In Tokyo" in her newest single. IlghtchIld is best known for reinventing 80s pop sounds while portraying the realities of modern anxieties. She's heavily influenced by Tokyo's fantastical futurism and New York City's gritty art-music scene, blending Jpop, synth rock, and bursts of funk to create her edgy, experimental, and electronic creations. Now, IlghtchIld is releasing the third single from her upcoming EP, No Strings Attached, entitled "Rain In Tokyo." While explaining how rain can be cleansing, peaceful, and purifying, IlghtchIld added that traveling back home to Tokyo "takes forever to get there, and you feel so far away from everyone. It can feel isolating. Despite that, this song is about connection and how you can still find joy within the rain and joy within the pain of loneliness." Hitting play on "Rain In Tokyo," this upbeat and shimmering Jpop tune bursts open with watery effects and lush synths that drive into the emotional first verse. IlghtchIld portrays all sorts of relatable emotions, especially as she confesses her loneliness and isolation being halfway across the world from someone special. The bouncy, upbeat drums alongside the vibrant array of synths bless us with all the shimmering sounds of Jpop while IlghtchIld channels her deepest emotions to remind us that we can still have a good time when it rains. This song is a vibe and a half; it packs all the optimism, passion, and groove we could ask for in a modern pop song. Allow IlghtchIld to remind you that not all is lost when it rains. In fact, why not grab an umbrella and make the most of it? Find IlghtchIld's new single, "Rain In Tokyo," on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, IlghtchIld. We love your positive vibe and outlook within your radiant new single, "Rain In Tokyo." What inspired you to create this honest song about navigating loneliness and isolation? While I always look forward to going back home to see my family in Tokyo, there's also a bittersweet sense of loneliness and isolation because I am leaving all my friends and community back in NYC. The 13-hour time difference is also brutal, so it feels like you're always playing phone tag. The rain is also a very cleansing element; emotionally, it helps me feel like I can let go of things. I've also been in long-distance relationships before and wanted to express the feeling of yearning for someone far away. What was your vision for the overall sound and vibe of "Rain In Tokyo"? How did you want the song's production to make listeners feel? It would be easier to answer this question with a picture. Still, the song's feeling is very visual and cinematic for me, and I wanted the music production of the song to capture the visual sensation of literal rain in Tokyo. The cool thing about umbrellas in Japan is that a lot of them tend to be transparent - I'm not sure why, but whenever you see raindrops through the transparent umbrella, and the neon street lights hit, the color feels synesthetic. Almost like a technicolor fever dream... So this is imagery I've always had in mind and wanted to show sonically how sometimes even sadness can morph into something more beautiful. In this case, pain can be cathartically transformed through a high-energy pop song. I want people to feel like they can be honest with how they feel, but once it's out of your system, you can celebrate overcoming it. What did you want the listener to take away from your honest lyrics in "Rain In Tokyo?" Do you hope to inspire them to dance in the rain? I can see how one can go nuts during a torrential downpour... It might even make a super fun TikTok. How does "Rain In Tokyo" fit into the concept or theme of your upcoming 2023 EP, No Strings Attached? What is that project about? No Strings Attached EP has themes of letting go and expressing yourself unapologetically, honestly, and without inhibition... It's about accepting and celebrating all the colors of life, the good, bad, and the ugly. What's next for you? Touring and also working on my animated episodic TV series. Instagram Facebook

Welcome to BuzzMusic, PRADO. We're grooving right beside you in your thrilling new single, "Dance Dance Dance." What inspired you to create such a sensual and feel-good hit? Thank you, I'm so glad you enjoy it! The process of coming up with this song was different than usual. I was in my grade 11 gym class back in 2019 and had what is now the chorus melody stuck in my head. I got out of my notebook, started writing down some ideas, and went with the flow. I never took the next step after writing this song until I started working with the producers. I showed them this idea almost two years after I wrote it, and they both loved it. We made the lyrics a bit more sensual to create a "club-type feel-good track," and that left us with Dance Dance Dance, and I couldn't be happier. Did you work with any producers to help bring the sonics and production to life for "Dance Dance Dance?" What was your vision for how you wanted the production to feel? For this song, I worked with Andre Kaden Black and Jonathan Karkar, two very talented individuals in Toronto. When I showed them the song idea, they instantly saw the vision, which made creating and finishing the track much easier. I wanted this song to bring cultures together, so we created a Latin pop/reggaeton track with English lyrics. The production for this track is fun and sexy and makes me want to dance every time I hear it! I'm more than happy with the final track! What do you want to make your audience feel when hearing "Dance Dance Dance?" How do you want this song to impact them? This song was made with a combination of sounds and rhythms to get listeners moving instantly! When people hear my song Dance Dance Dance, I want them to feel light, free, and vibey - moving along to every minute of the song! Do you usually create such danceable, high-energy, and party-esque songs like "Dance Dance Dance?" Or was this new territory new for you? Earlier this year, when I went full into music mode, I wanted to dip my toes into different styles of music to see what U enjoyed most and what my audience enjoyed most. This song was definitely the most fun to create, and I am 100% going to continue creating songs with this similar style, but I enjoy singing and writing emotional ballads. What's next for you? A lot of new music in more than one language...! I would love to collaborate with more artists in songwriting and recording tracks, but overall, there is a lot of new, fun, and fresh music from PRADO in 2023! Instagram Facebook
- Why ESQ’s Larry Sager Stopped Answering His Phone “At Night”
From Detroit, Michigan, singer-songwriter and rock band ESQ dive into a hilariously conceptual yet thrilling rock experience with their latest single, "At Night," ESQ is led by frontman and founder Larry Sager, who's already released a ton of successful projects under ESQ, like the single and music video for "Keep Tryin'," which amassed over 3.8 million plays on YouTube. This time around, Sager explains what inspired ESQ's new tune, "At Night," and why he stopped answering the door and phone once the sun has set. After moving to San Francisco, Sager spent a couple of years letting friends and family crash at his small apartment. It wasn't until one friend and an acquaintance showed up, one being completely inebriated. Instead of hitting the bathroom, one friend decided to relieve himself butt naked outside, prompting him to plummet down to the cement patio. Neighbors were mad, and Sager knew it was the last time he answered his phone "At Night." Featuring the radiant vocal stylings of Shalee, the new single, "At Night," rips open with heavy electric guitar riffs and groovy bass licks that deliver this hefty soulful rhythm & blues listening experience. As Larry Sager's smooth and melodic vocals grace our speakers, he and the rest of ESQ jump into the riveting hook with conceptual lyrics and kickass instrumentals. Knowing the story behind this song makes the listening experience all the more thrilling, especially as Sager's performance is met with the equally engaging and stimulating vocal stylings of Shalee, who floods the track with infectious and exhilarating energy. The entire track is a treat for the ears, and perhaps it will be your wake-up call to stop being so damn generous when people come looking for a place to crash. Do yourself a favor and experience the groove, soul, rhythm, and blues from ESQ's conceptual and hearty new single, "At Night," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, ESQ. We love the concept behind your witty and exciting new single, "At Night." Could you describe the moment you realized you needed to create a song about letting people crash at your base? At Night is an autobiographical piece written while I was renting an apartment in San Francisco, wanting to be an ambassador of Goodwill and show people the beauty of the city and the surroundings. Calling on the phone and randomly appearing at my door were friends of friends and friends of acquaintances of acquaintances wanting to crash at my place. Really the last straw was when two friends of an acquaintance of an acquaintance was staying over. They went out drinking all night and came back around 3am. The one guy climbed into bed which was actually the outside railing of my porch which led to the downstairs neighbor’s garden apartment one floor below. He landed butt first in my downstairs’ neighbor’s yard onto the cement with a loud THUD !! It was miraculous he wasn’t injured. The woman living downstairs came out and saw this naked guy laying on the patio. She screamed; and then started vomiting. The raucous awoke me - I went outside peered over the balcony railing to see this guy looking up naked as a jay bird – “I fell over the balcony,” he says. I first met this guy 12 hours ago! After that I started not answering the door or my phone. What was it like working alongside vocalist Shalee when recording "At Night"? Why did you feel the song needed a powerful and attention-commanding female vocalist? Working with Shalee has been fabulous and helped me to achieve my “vision” of hard rock music combined with old-fashioned Motown R&B, so to speak. My concept for At Night was a call-and-response kind of thing. We first had a couple of vocalists do tracks and the song wasn't going where I wanted it to go; actually sounded a bit like a country song, not that there's anything wrong with that, but that was not my aim. I contacted Shalee; she put down some tracks and it was the perfect fit. We remixed the background vocals and highlighted her tracks. Going forward from there, she’s been on all the background vocals, adding her own personal touch and creativity, adding a great additional musical dimension. You will be hearing her a lot. What was your band's creative process like when creating "At Night"? What did that process look like in the studio? At Night is a reconstituted punk rock tune, slowed down dramatically and again, adding the traditional R&B flavor. When recording, I usually add tracks piecemeal in the studio and then take the rough mix home and work on planning additional overdubs by improvising and recording on top of what was previously done in the studio. I imitated a slide guitar (because to use a slide, I couldn’t switch back to a regular guitar sound for the next part of the intro lick); found a cool intro outro lick, and created the bass line, which is in a drop D tuning giving it a deep boom. If listeners could take anything away from your conceptual lyrical content in "At Night," what would you want that to be? The underlying theme of the song has to do with having difficulties sleeping – which, frankly – I’ve had trouble with since I was a kid. A couple of solutions over the years – NOT having to do with extracurricular substances, have been successful. Sleep is a challenge. Hopefully folks find the lyrics here entertaining and maybe even notice my Jimi Hendrix reference and relate in their own personal ways interpreting a meaning and relating to the music. I try to be a little open-ended, vague or have double or triple meanings - to leave room for one’s own interpretations to take hold. What's next for you? What's next for us is the release of three songs along with music videos currently in production and finishing up. Our song "Off My Rocker" will be released in the next couple of weeks. It's a great interesting ground-breaking song in its own right with a great-looking video. In November we are releasing a song called "Can't Be Satisfied" which features Sylvia Massy on background vocals. She has been doing the final mixing of our releases and this is an added bonus for our fans. She sounds fabulous on the tune. We have another song called "Everybody's Got Something" with a January 2023 release date. There is some advance publicity already being done for that in England. Folks in that part of the world - they will get a sneak peek of the song. Meanwhile, we are planning some live performances in the SF Bay Area and preparing to do some rock festivals in 2023 as well. We have a large and growing fan base in South America and we are looking at that "venue"! It's an exciting upcoming year for the band and the music. Instagram

Listening to Dinzy’s music is getting your daily dose of rock full of energy and adrenaline. “Set In Stone” places you in a story of an expected love. You met someone who has got your heart beating faster than usual, and you want more from that person. The tension from the desire is increasing. You can’t take it anymore. Thus, you tell that person not to wait any longer and give in to you. You are not “Set In Stone” anyway. The bass sounds like a buzzing march inviting you to go for it without hesitation, building the energy. At the same time, you get Dinzy’s vocals so empowering and exceptionally skilled. It is a burst of impulse turned into music so relatable. The whole instrumentals show mastery, and the guitar solo is simply epic. Besides, Dinzy’s expression when singing is contagious. You can immerse in her music and feel it. "Set In Stone" was recorded in Nashville. It was Mixed by Brett Ryan Stewart Wirebird Productions and mastered by Alex McCollough True East Mastering. Get ready to receive a recharge of life when listening to “Set In Stone.” Welcome to BuzzMusic, Dinzy. What experience inspired “Set In Stone”? Thank you! Happy to be here. The beginnings of relationships can be exhilarating and soul-igniting, but they can also be confusing and admittedly daunting, especially in our current climate. There begins a back and forth for feeling each other out and setting or not setting some intentions. Sometimes those intentions are not set, and you might be find yourself in a game you didn’t intend to play. This is a call for seizing the moment, getting down to the nitty-gritty, and having a blast while doing it. What were your most significant musical references that inspired “Set In Stone”? This song was definitely inspired by the rock sound of the 80s, and I’m not mad about it. The way recorded it, and the way Set In Stone was mixed (by Brett Ryan Stewart) makes you feel like you are at a live rock concert circa 1987. As the lyrics and melody were being formed, I could immediately hear that echo and grit reminiscent of a Pat Benetar or Heart tune, backed by raging guitars and a powerhouse band. I love the aesthetic of the live recording sound, and it’s just what I was hoping to emulate, especially in the midst of today's music. What did you like the most about making “Set In Stone”? Definitely the studio time. There’s nothing better than getting all your mates in there and just throwing everything on the table and seeing what inspires and comes to fruition. I do have to say I’m a sucker for a guitar solo and the harmonizing guitars were something I couldn’t live without. How do you hope “Set In Stone” will impact your listeners? What message would you like to get across? This is really a fun throwback to a different era, and I hope some nostalgia is felt and maybe inspires a pathway and admiration back to this type of genre. Soaring in from Hollister, California, Latina singer-songwriter and adventurous recording artist Meztli Zambrano sinks her teeth in introspection with her debut and personal 4-track EP, Naked. Meztli Zambrano launched her independent music career in May 2022 with the release of her debut single, "AYAYAY!." She's since proved herself a force to be reckoned with by exploring various genres, sounds, and styles while writing lyrics based on life experiences that any listener can relate to. Meztli Zambrano's musical style knows no bounds, and she introduces us to her fiercely personal songwriting process and cinematic sounds in her breathtaking and emotional debut EP, Naked. The introductory track, "With You," opens like a warm summer breeze with lush piano melodies and vibrant background synths that flutter in the distance. As Meztli Zambrano begins vocalizing intimate situations of needing someone's sweet presence, she lures us in with radiant vocal melodies and tender pop production that feels like a warm embrace. It's a refreshing ballad that perfectly kicks off the EP with a bang. Onto the EP's second track, "Naked," things get a little more emotional. We sense this song represents an evolving relationship and shows your most vulnerable side to someone special. The soothing piano melodies and Meztli Zambrano's breathtaking vocals dance through the speakers in this sweet sonic lullaby while she wishes to experience real, true love. Towards the song's end, we get the feeling that there's trouble in paradise. Reaching the EP's second half with track number three, "Remind Me (Interlude)," Meztli Zambrano breaks it down into this sharply personal and confessional ballad that sees her wishing to quit fighting and let someone go for the better. The chilling piano chords, alongside Meztli Zambrano's Taylor Swift-esque vocal harmonies, bring all the passion and emotion we could ask for while she wishes for clarity, ease, and relief. Landing on a timeless tune and the album's outro track, "Yesterday," this song kicks off with chilling adult contemporary instrumentals that cross the sounds of Elton John and The Beatles. Meztli Zambrano's passionate vocals recall all the memories, good and bad, of "Yesterday" and the love that fell through the cracks. But Zambrano holds onto her crown, looks forward to better days, and says a personal goodbye to "Yesterday." Loving the wrong person is never easy. Allow Meztli Zambrano to share her relatable experience in her passionate, chilling, and emotional debut EP, Naked, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Meztli Zambrano. Congratulations on releasing your stunning and emotional debut EP, Naked. When did you begin feeling inspired to create this personal project? What compelled you to do so? The “Naked” EP began during the midst of a breakup. I was overwhelmed by a mix of emotions and felt lost. I took this time to write out all my emotions and turned them into what I love most - MUSIC. Writing music during this emotional time helped me grieve through the process. It was my form of therapy and coping. I wrote all the things I couldn’t say before and after it was over and created something beautiful, raw, and relatable. Which song from Naked was the most challenging to create in terms of emotion and vulnerability? How did you overcome those personal obstacles? Definitely track #2, "Naked!" I remember writing this track one late night, almost midnight, because I couldn’t sleep. I was tossing and turning in my thoughts, feeling so conflicted and truly believing if this person just called me, we could make it. To just open up and be real with me - all walls down. To be naked with me with absolutely nothing to hide. I was conflicted because some of my felt silly that I was feeling that way after I had been hurt. It was the ugly and vulnerable truth I had to face about my emotions at that time. It was love. How does Naked help listeners get to know you on a more personal level? Would you say this project is one of your most personal, emotional, and vulnerable releases to date? I wanted my listeners to get to know me through this EP. I’ve always been such a hopeless romantic and an emotional person, but I typically hesitate to show that side of myself. The Naked EP is a diary of my heart during that chapter of my life. I had to expose myself to let listeners in. This EP is by far the most vulnerable art I’ve put out! I remember feeling so terrified when it was release week. Did you have any artistic or musical influences in mind when creating Naked? What or who might have influenced this project? I listened to influences like Frank Ocean, Steve Lacy, and Lykke Li during this time. I’d say that they influenced track 2 Naked. I wanted that particular track to feeling like a journey and experience for my listeners as it was when I was writing it. As for the other three tracks, I love harmonies, so I heavily used BGVs for those! When creating the other three tracks, I didn’t have a sound I was influenced by, and it’s just what I heard and felt to convey the emotion of the tracks. What was your goal for the listener's experience with Naked? What story did you want to tell, and what did you want them to learn from it? My goal for the Naked EP was to tell my story and get “naked” with myself. It was important for me to create something relatable; everyone can relate to heartbreak. I used my story with the intention that whoever listened could, in turn, be heard from the perspective of their own story. Ultimately I wanted listeners to know that this was temporary. This is the process and the ugly grieving side of heartbreak, but if you leave it all in the yesterday of what was, better days are coming ahead, and you’ll be okay. Instagram Twitter
- Daniel Gidlund Navigates The End Of Love In His New EP 'Never Ending Night'
Reaching the end of a relationship is never easy. Singer-songwriter and adventurous recording artist Daniel Gidlund knows this all too well, serenading us with the depths and valleys of lost love in his recent 5-track EP, Never Ending Night. Daniel Gidlund is a vocal educator and music teacher with quite a track record in the professional music industry. He's best known for singing on Nause's 2011 hit, "Made Of," not to mention taking the lead vocals on Dada Life's 2012 smash hit, "Feed The Dada." His combined creations have reached over 100 million streams on Spotify alone, and now, Gidlund is ready to bring listeners deep into his personal life with his latest EP, Never Ending Night. The new project is said to be a tale about ending love, as the EP's title refers to "that last walk together before the final dissolution," says Gidlund. The 5-track project begins with the stunning introductory track, "Leap Of Faith," softly opening with emotional electric guitar picking and Daniel Gidlund's velvety vocals that bless the ears with harmonious melodies. While emotionally asking someone to take that leap of faith and give a relationship one last shot, we can already feel that Gidlund knows the answer to his question. It's a chilling intro track that perfectly paves the way for the songs to follow. Reaching track number two, "Never Too Late," Daniel Gidlund turns up the energy with punchy electric guitar hits and the song's overall expansive energy. Gidlund's raspy and melodic vocals shower us with introspective lyrics about how it's never too late to save yourself from defeat. As the song continues, the glimmering production and toe-tapping instrumentals shine through to lift us into this all-encompassing and ethereal soundscape. Daniel Gidlund slows things down with the third track and the EP's halfway point, "Close To Your Heart (EP Version)," opening with melancholy acoustic guitar melodies and his crooning vocals. As the soft piano begins fluttering in, Daniel Gidlund dives deep into his emotional lyrics of wishing to remain close to someone's heart no matter how far they drift apart. It's a sweet-sounding yet heart-string-tugging emotional ballad straight out of Gidlund's diary. Onto the EP's fourth track, "The Fumes," we're met with chilling and layered acoustic guitar melodies that pounce through the speakers with uplifting energy. Listening to Daniel Gidlund's vocals melting into the sweet piano melodies is top-tier, but his grippingly emotional message increases the experience. This hopeful and inspirational tune will lift your spirits, letting you exhale "The Fumes" of past pain. Landing on the EP's fifth outro and title track, "Never Ending Night," we can already feel this song represents that final goodbye with someone special. Daniel Gidlund's chilling lyrics paint such delicate and relatable images of escaping reality with someone and savoring every last moment of this "Never Ending Night." This tear-inducing, cinematic song perfectly represents the emotions felt when two souls realize they're better left apart. There's nothing better than raw songwriting and authentic emotion with relatable concepts we can all get behind. With Daniel Gidlund's new EP, Never Ending Night, you get exactly that. Find the heartfelt new project on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Daniel Gidlund. Congratulations on releasing your personal 5-track EP, Never Ending Night. What inspired you to create an entire project about the ending of love? Thank you, and thanks for having me! The last couple of years have really been a rollercoaster of emotions and heartbreaks for me, and through this process, I’ve been writing songs about it all. Now I’ve come to a stage where I have to let things go for real and move on. I can’t keep reading the same depressing book over and over again. What was the most challenging part about creating such a personal and emotional project like Never Ending Night? How did you overcome those obstacles? Some songs were easy to write and were done within a few days, while, for instance, in Leap Of Faith was harder to find the right tone in the lyrics. Melodies come naturally to me, I just keep singing until I find the right one. Lyrics, on the other hand, need more deep diving, and when I get stuck, I need to leave it and pick it up sometimes months later. Once you reset your eyes, you see what's good or not and what may be missing. Also, recording and producing everything yourself is a wonderful thing but soo self-doubting and hard. You never know when you’re done. Then one day, you just have to decide to release it for an audience or bury it in a hard drive. How did you want the EP, Never Ending Night, to impact your audience? What effect did you want this project to have on them? I’m so looking forward to releasing this and hearing what some of my listeners think! Maybe give them a sense of recognition and help them through something of their own or just wake up realizing what they have. I always try to add a bit of hope in my music, either through the lyrics or my singing, and hope someone picks up on that. Which song from Never Ending Night are you most proud of and why? What makes that song so special to you? "Leap of faith" is the one! To me, it’s hopeful and sad at the same time, and it sums up a lot of my own fears of commitment. It really comes alive when I sing it, and I think the lyrics without that many words say a lot. How does Never Ending Night stand out from the rest of your releases over the past decade? What did you do differently this time around? The big difference is that I set up my studio in my bedroom instead of renting a studio. It was way more comfortable and took a lot of pressure off when creating and recording. Whenever I had an idea, I could capture it right away. My piano was mic’d up and ready to go, and I could just open my closet door and have a vocal booth. An EP has been a goal for a long time. I’ve held onto my music almost convulsively cause it just had to be perfect, so releasing more than one song at a time is wonderful. Instagram Facebook

Raised in Haiti, Prophete takes the most exciting elements of that music breeding ground in “Melo,” his new single full of afrobeat sounds and tons of flow. Daniel Prophete is a son of the Caribbean. Now he uses his exceptional talent as a singer, songwriter, and producer to reflect that richness with his craft. “Melo” is one of Prophete’s most fantastic works and a collaboration with Z The Vibe Doctor. Together they created this song full of beach vibes. “Melo” gets in your mind and limbs from the moment you hit the play button. The guitar and wind instrumentals blend perfectly with the euphoric but chilling drums. Diving into “Melo” starts with two electric guitars, one playing a blissful figure while the other accompanies it with high and energizing notes. Prophete's vocals are melodic and inviting as he sings about how amazed he is for a girl that seems like the black Mona Lisa. The track has an extra dreamy touch thanks to Saxo and xylophone notes. “Melo” is the song you want to listen to when you want to wash away all heaviness and uplift your spirit. Prophete and Z The Vibe Doctor managed to create an overall sensual ambiance that envelops your senses while you can’t help but at least move your head gently with the beats. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Daniel Prophete, and congratulations on your latest release, "Melo." How did you decide to collaborate with Z The Vibe Doctor to make “Melo?" We’re long-time collaborators. Sent him the beat, and he wrote the lyrics and melody with me in mind. I liked his delivery, so we ended up singing it together. What was your inspiration behind “Melo?" The inspiration for "Melo" was my girlfriend. It’s pretty self-explanatory, she’s a Haitian woman, and she came into my life when I thought I’d be a bachelor forever and shook up my world. I originally had a different hook which I wasn’t a fan of, so I made changes and came up with the rhyme Melody with that melanin. What was the most rewarding moment of making “Melo?" Finally releasing it after being delayed by a couple of months. Is “Melo” a specific person or an idea born from the sensuality of music? Born out of the idea of his girlfriend.
