  • International Artist Olympia Papageorgiou Covers Holiday Favorite "The Christmas Song"

Recording artist Olympia Papageorgiou is synthesizing creamy and delicate vocalism in order to cover some of our favourite Christmas classics. The product is phenomenal, but on a deeper scale, Olympia has always been able to project her voice in a meaningful way. She attempts to connect with listeners through the vulnerabilities in her vocal delivery. It's an intriguing element to her sound and one that is incredibly present within her latest cover release. Olympia Papageorgiou has released her graceful rendition of "The Christmas Song". Her delicate tone makes the song produce a more smooth and airy feel. Olympia manifests such a fragile state of the classic Christmas song, instilling such a strong innocence to the song. We genuinely feel warm listening to Olympia sing "The Christmas Song". It's the type of song you listen to during the most prominent holiday events, as well as the most private, intimate times spent with friends and family. Olympia allows "The Christmas Song" to be more of that connected, honest experience for listeners, meaning she amplifies that intimacy between listener and artist. Right now is the perfect time to have come across the holiday soundings of Olympia Papageorgiou--we desperately wanted that more loving and detailed vocal performance for renditions of "The Christmas Song". Check out the Christmas soundings of Olympia Papageorgiou here. Hi Olympia! Your rendition of "The Christmas Song" was honestly stunning. Your vocal performance was very rounded and smooth. How long has it taken you to craft the intricate soundings of your voice? Well, thank you so much! Honestly, a lot of maturing vocally through lessons and growth. Vocal cords develop until your mid 20’s so sometimes there are unique things that happen to your voice while it is maturing. I think that my voice has changed a lot in the last few years and I am noticing new things I am able to do and hear that I was not able to before. Training your voice is a continuous journey even after the vocal cords fully mature. Growing up in a family that was music-driven, did you find it encouraged you to pursue music? How have you felt taking a look back at your career in music thus far? My family has always been supportive about my musical side but also pushed for education which is why I have continued to go to school as well as sing. It is pretty amazing though to have a musical family, my mom sings, plays the piano and guitar, my father sings, my aunt is a singer, my grandfather was a singer, my great grandfather was a singer and my brother plays the Lyra and sings. As you can see, everyone does something musical in my family! Looking back I am very happy with my development but the journey has not ended. We know that you've always been passionate about maintaining your Greek-Cypriot roots intact. Can you tell our readers more on how you honour your heritage through your music? Yes, I really try to keep my Greek-Cypriot roots close! I try to add some Greek in my songs like 8th Day, Salud and Salud Remix all have Greek in them. It's a nice little way to honor my people that are listening and catch those little gems I throw in the songs! I also Dance for Greek Festivals to keep the tradition of dancing alive as well. Drawing back to "The Christmas Song" cover, how was it to sing through and record this record officially?! Is the song a holiday favorite of yours? It was a big challenge! Recording covers are much harder than recording original singles. There is a different kind of vulnerability with recording a cover because everyone knows the song and feels that they can judge it fully which is scary. Its a totally different level of recording and It took many hours for me to get it done but it was something that I really wanted to do. “The Christmas Song” is definitely one of my favorites so I knew that I wanted to record it! We've heard about your podcast featuring the realities of your father during the Turkish invasion. We found it to be a great platform to share the stories and his life back during that time. How do you feel your father has inspired you to grow artistically and personally? My father is an incredible person and knowing what happened to him and our family is important. My father has been a big supporter of me artistically and his life, in general, has impacted me personally. Making music is a blessing and a privilege and sometimes as an artist, I get lost in the high of pursuing music but speaking with my father and knowing our history always bring me back to center and refocuses me. We have to remember that not everyone has the opportunity to sing or record their music because of their situation but my father was able to come out of those events and give the best to his family so that I could pursue what I wanted to. I am forever thankful for his strength and dedication to his family. We appreciate the time to talk both about your artistic and personal life of music! What can 2020 see from Olympia Papageorgiou? I am hoping to do some big things in 2020! I have some ideas that I am praying will come to fruition and I am pumped for it! Definitely more than a few songs will be released, that's all I am going to say haha! twitter.com/olympiapapag instagram.com/olympiapapag facebook.com/Olympiapapag #BuzzMusic

  • Multifarious Artist Ute Ends 2019 With Song Release "Dream With Me"

The soulful and deep soundings of eclectic artist Ute are back! Ute has released her single "Dream With Me". The track is very abstract in its delivery but cultivates an element of mystery within itself. Ute is very passionate and draws out this passion in a thoughtful way during her music. "Dream With Me" features strong piano soundings, combined with an ethereal feel. Another component we picked up on from Ute was the way she embeds theatrical harmonies within her production, and ultimately her vocal delivery. It's an element to her artistry that truly amplifies her tone and brings about that dramatic-type feel. Ute strives for a traditional and classical harmony in "Dream With Me", bringing back a familiar-sounding within the category itself. "Dream With Me" will be that eclectic, passé song that you may need on your playlist if it's requiring that operatic feel. "Dream With Me" isn't Ute's first major production, and we can't see it being her last, ultimately due to her persistence with releasing new music this past year! As an artist, she's been maintaining that 2019 tracklist with a variety of other releases. All in all, we know that Ute will be back with new music shortly, so don't fret if you're a fan of her assorted sounds! Give a listen to Ute's "Dream With Me" here. #BuzzMusic

  • Lil Joker Baby Combines Genres In The Release Of His Eccentric Album “Imma Star”

Lil Joker Baby released the incredible album that will most definitely impress the culture of hip-hop and the market of music to full depths! The album titled “Imma Star” begins with the single “Roccstar”. “Roccstar” was a strong opener to the project because it showcased beautiful electric acoustics in the instrumentation right before the beat transitioned into the hip hop lane. Lil Joker Baby's delivery is unique and atypical from other artists. His bars and metaphors in “Roccstar” were addictive and quotable. “Roccstar” set the tone off right for the album, and we became immensely prepared for what was next in this project. The next song that transitioned in was “Tonight”. “Tonight” kept the same vibe “Roccstar” had with the beautiful acoustics blended with a hip-hop element. Lil Joker Baby style is intriguing and his bars are super witty. The charisma in “Tonight” felt more subdued but it was due to Lil Joker Baby creating a more emotional aesthetic to the record. The next song that transitioned in was “1st Second”. “1st Second” changed the instrumentation with the beat by giving us a gorgeous piano chord to mix in with the contemporary hip-hop style that’s presented in this album so far. Lil Joker Baby begins each song by reminding him and us that he’s a star. What’s neat about “1st Second” was how it felt like a love-rap ballad by Lil Joker Baby. It gave the album a new meaning and remained relatable and compelling. The next song that transitioned in on this interesting fusion album was “In Da Benz”. “In Da Benz” was a wavy hit song that was catchy and contagious. The hook becomes stuck to your head like super glue. It was memorable, timeless, and it had super dope configurations that made it unique. “In Da Benz” also felt like it was personally dedicated to someone who means a lot to Lil Joker Baby. T he next song was “Psycho”. “Psycho” was another song on this album that had a real transmissible hook that felt like it transitions the listener right into their memories through his lyrics. After “Psycho” finished playing I was still thinking about the catchy hook. The last song on this album was “Imma Star” and this record was by far my personal favorite of the album! “Imma Star” had a headbanging beat and was aggressive, tough, and intense! The delivery from Lil Joker Baby was completely different from his more laid-back projection in the previous songs on this album. Instead, Lil Joker Baby showed us his ability to give us hard-hitting punchlines and rapid tempos! All in all, Lil Joker Baby released an unorthodox rap album that will have a timeless effect on listeners due to Lil Joker Baby’s eccentric style and appeal. He’s a creative artist pushing the boundaries of what it means to be a New York-based artist. We can't wait to see and hear what the new year holds for Lil Joker Baby! Listen to “Superman” by Kierra Matovu here! Welcome to BuzzMusic Kierra Matovu! What has been the most monumental moment in your career so far and why? The most monumental moment in my career so far is actually getting to a point where I’m ready to share everything I’m working on. When I first started this journey of working on my music it was sort of a secret. Like each song I wrote was like a piece of my diary being torn out and I just wasn’t sure I would ever be able to share some of the things that have been so personal to me. But as I wrote more and more as the days came and recorded each record to hear it fully come to life I finally was able to official share my first single back in November 2019. Tell us about your record “Superman”. What inspired you to write this song? When I first started writing “Superman” I was driving on my way to my best friend's house when I first heard the beat. I was humming a melody and thought to myself I’m going to write a song about what I want/feel is missing from my life. So I guess my lack of unconditional love/intimacy on the dating side is what inspired this song... I guess I also didn’t know how much pain behind each word I sang until I actually listened back to the finished product. What was the most challenging aspect of writing “Superman” and why? The pain behind it. To have the desire for that real thing and to be/give loved unconditionally is very discouraging in a world full of people afraid of being real. So to actually speak on my perspective of what I want is hard when I never really had that. How would you describe your arrangement to this song? Did you experiment with any new elements? My arrangement to my song has an acoustic vibe in the R&B lane. It takes you on a journey that gets better and better from beginning to the end of my song. What are you looking forward to the most in 2020 Kierra Matovu? In 2020 I’m looking forward to new opportunities in bettering myself and as an artist. I’m excited to be dropping more music at the top of the year and doing gigs to expand my fan base. instagram.com/kierra_matovu #BuzzMusic

We encourage you to dive in and listen to the rest of Vatomico's music! We'll be on the lookout in the New Year for new music from Vatomico! You can listen to “Mausoleum” by Vatomico here! Welcome to BuzzMusic Vatomico! What would you consider some of your early inspirations for music? I started listening to music through my older brother and sister.  I listened from Donna Summer, Earth Wind and Fire, Gloria Gaynor, Bee Gees, etc. to Led Zeppelin, Queen, and Rush. I was also introduced to classical music through a record called Hooked on Classics that contained a “modern” interpretation of the major classic pieces of Bach, Mozart, Tchaikovsky, etc. Tell us about your song “Mausoleum”. What was the initial theme for this record? Everything started while I was collaborating with a Hip Hop band called 33rd Parallel. I liked the feel of the beats and imagined what could they be with some jazz instrumentation instead. So I took this beat and started to develop a different instrumentation. Overall, the initial idea was to create something simple and groovy but with a more sophisticated instrumentation on top. What were some of the challenges you faced in the creation process of “Mausoleum”? Other than the money lol, I think my biggest challenge was to find the correct musicians. From the beginning, I knew I wanted to record with the best musicians possible. How would you detail your instrumentation approach towards “Mausoleum”? Any new elements you experienced with? I had a “contrast” approach about the instrumentation for this record. I wanted the “bottom” part (drums/beats and bass) to be basic and simple, but rich and groovy, and the rest (mainly sax and piano) to be more sophisticated and complex. The new elements I worked with on this record were the beats. I had never worked exclusively with loops, so creating, recreating, and sampling loops was a new experience for me. Reflecting on the year of 2019, which has been the most monumental moment for you? Definitely having the CD finished and seeing it physically in your hands was a monumental moment for us.  However, sharing the stage with Rubén Albarrán (Café Tacuba) was a very exciting experience and a moment where we had the chance to show our work to a bigger crowd. • Artist Spotlight: Nicole & Scotty Talk 2019 and New Music!

Sibling duo Nicole & Scotty are based in Southern California and using their songwriting skills to curate Pop soundings. Starting off with a Youtube channel in 2013, Nicole & Scotty have progressed their music and overall sound, snatching over 740k streams on Spotify! Their sound is very alluring and smooth. The vocal tendencies of Nicole are what surges with confidence, and then Scotty's voice brings that bright and moving tune. When going through their recently released music in 2019, we come across a few tracks that surge with that exact confidence and radiance was mentioned before! Diving deep into the release history of Nicole & Scotty, we come across one single titled “#Queen” and it’s gained serious traction within the pop music scene. As a Trip/Hop track, we’re receiving different elements than previously constructed tracks from Nicole & Scotty. Looking at more of their releases, we give a listen to their follow up track to “#Queen”, “Can Be Beautiful”, and immediately are hypnotized by that prominent rhythm chosen for the track, and of course that flawless integration of vocals from both Nicole & Scotty. Fast forward to 2019, early December saw the release of “Sweet N’ Sour”, which gave us that tenacity and vigor we craved. Nicole & Scotty aim to entertain with their collective harmonious voices, and quite frankly, we’re soaking up the experience! We hope to see more from the iconic sibling duo in the year to come, but for now, we’re streaming “Sweet N‘ Sour” on repeat! Check out the soundings of Nicole & Scotty here. Hello, Nicole & Scotty! It’s amazing we can get the chance to talk over your music, and the recent release of “Sweet N’ Sour”! How have you both felt since the release of your December single? Thank you so much for taking the time to talk with us, guys! Always a pleasure to interview with BuzzMusic. We're super stoked to have gotten "Sweet N' Sour" out to our supporters! We wrote it and first started playing it live earlier this year in January, so we can't tell you how many messages we've received begging us to finally put it out there since, haha. It must be such an interesting dynamic as a sibling duo! Do you think more creative challenges arise due to this, or does the sibling aspect actually aid in the curation process? Oh our sibling connection absolutely aids us during the creative process. We have 4 years between us (Scotty being the younger sibling), but we always joke that we must really be twins because we've always been best friends. So it's kind of like wherever one of us leaves off when writing, the other one picks up. We're most comfortable and productive when we're working together. As audio engineers and producers, do you both produce your own tracks?! We do indeed! Everything you hear on our tracks is all our own handiwork. :) We have a home studio we affectionately call The Beach Room and offer production, mix, and master services to anyone looking for them as well! Just shoot us a DM on Instagram to book a session. How do you both collectively feel about the advancement of your sound since releases such as “#Queen” to “Sweet N’ Sour”? We feel like we've definitely become less concerned about writing within the confines of genres and have become a lot more comfortable with experimenting and evolving our sound. Exploring and getting outside of your comfort zone is key! We've learned that you really have to just let the song breathe and take you where it wants to go when it comes to writing. Are there any genres that you two could see integrating within your next sound? Particularly, a genre that hasn’t been seen yet being blended within the sound that makes up Nicole & Scotty? Absolutely! We've both really gotten into melodic dubstep and future bass lately (think Illenium, Said The Sky, Dabin), and we're actually working on a couple of tracks with similar energy. Can't wait to share what we have in the works! Thanks again Nicole & Scotty! It was great to chat over music, and get to know the sibling duo a bit better! What’s the first step you plan to make as a duo in 2020? Thank you guys again! It was great to chat with you as well! Our first few steps into 2020 will involve releasing a collaboration with a super talented friend, making moves behind the scenes, and hitting up NAMM for the first time next month. Plans are in motion to make next year a big one for this duo. :) instagram.com/nicoleandscotty #BuzzMusic
