  • The Circus Has Arrived with Twin Charades, “Inaboyasa”

Twin Charade is the electric duo composed of Joshua Pivato and Alex Kachkan. Together the two have come to create a willy- alternative pop/rock single, “Inaboyasa”. The annunciation of "Inaboyasa" is so captivating we had to know what it means; however, I was sadly disappointed to learn that no formal meaning exists, to later discover their meaning of the word, in our exclusive interview. The duo has created a witty, twisted and fun word that you won’t be able to forget! We can't help but repeat this track in an attempt to mimic these catchy vocals. His voice is raspy and sensual, creating the perfect characteristics resembling a true Rock performer. I think what is most enjoyable about having mysterious language and lyrics is that you're left guessing the meaning and only wanting more. We didn’t want this song to end and we can’t wait to hear more from this power duo. Pivato and Kachkan’s intention was to entertain, produce satirical lyrics while adding a fiery spirit of Rock and Roll, needed to keep us dancing and singing. When asked they state that their music is an expression of autonomy, “it’s a call to become an overcomer”. Although, their work is about individualism this duo work harmoniously to create a unifying piece. Listen to “Inaboyasa” here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Twin Charade! Thank you for this energetic single, we are dying to know the meaning behind your single "Inaboyasa"! 'Ello BuzzMusic! Happy. We are happy. And happy to hear our single has sparked some interest. So... INABOYASA, what does it mean? It is the primal expression of the thoughts & feelings we don't know how to say. What brought the two of you together to create such an entertaining and electric sound? Fate, as it were. Once upon a time we played together in a Prog Rock band. When that ended, one day we decided we wanted to go bat-sh*t wild... well, here we are! Which inspirational Rockers influenced the sound portrayed in “Inboysasa”? We just let loose. We like to let the songs possess us, let them craft themselves, and whatever influences emerge from our subconscious, so be it. For this song in particular, we heard sounds emerging with hints of Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson, Periphery, Prince... and well, we rolled with it. We prefer to let the songs be autonomous. Do you see yourselves incorporating other genres into your future works? Indubitably. You name it, its gonna make it onto the roster. Perhaps even some Jazzy Yodelling Nu Metal if we're feeling quirkier than usual. Thank you for being with us today, we love the mystery behind “Inboysasa” and look forward to more songs from you. What can we expect from you in the new year?  We can't wait to hear what's next! Thank you so very much for having us! Before this year's out, we'll have released the music video for Inaboyasa (Probably November 23rd), as well as our second single and its music video in December. We can't wait. That's going to be a lot of...fun. Next year, we'll release the rest of this first phase of music, or EP (however you choose to call it) and proceed to gear up for the first of our Live Shows! We want to make the Live Shows an immersive experience... something approximating Theater moreso than a standard set. Hope to eventually see you there! instagram.com/twincharade facebook.com/Twin-Charade-104777884289207 #BuzzMusic

  • Moe Carter Tackles Conscious Rap With an Entire New Approach With His EP, “Dr. Satin”

Moe Carter is coming guns blazing with his latest EP titled “Dr. Satin” possibly part one of a potential sequel! This EP begins with the single titled “Satin Synopsis” and this record has a traditional and old school flow with a unique and intricate delivery. The lyrics were highly consciously driven with an intellectual approach. However, it remained digestible due to the super dope arrangement and unique production in the beat. “Satin Synopsis” had special wordplay and bars that captures your attention. The next single that transitions in is “JOGG”. “JOGG” continues the unique elemental production that’s equipped with a lot of arrangements you won’t hear in your average album. Based on this, we have acquired the theory that Moe Carter is simply an artist in his own lane. “JOGG” had this super cool robotic dialogue in the middle of the song that led into the flaming transition of flow from Moe Carter. After “JOGG”, “Xanxibar” comes in and by this point, futuristic has met swag rap! Of course, the rooted style in the beats of this album so far has transferred into this record, but what makes this song stands out for me is the catchy hook. “Xanxibar” is a unique hype song that you can’t compare to anything else. So far, Moe Carter is standing out as a rapper. His style is something we’ve never seen or heard before! “Shaman” was our personal favorite. This single had this cool west coast vibe to the arrangement, while remaining unorthodox from every other song. Not only was the production was perfection, but Moe Carter’s delivery, flow, and bars in “Shaman” were just completely on point. The hook was catchy and had a memorable effect on its listener. The closing song of this EP was “Placebo”. “Placebo” gives you a spacious break between the beat and the vocals in the introduction that helps you enjoy the vibe of the song a little bit more. The lyrics in “Placebo” felt more simple than the other songs on "Dr. Satin", due to Moe Carter’s slowed down delivery. Moe Carter continues to make sure each song stands apart while remaining similar in style. All in all, “Dr. Satin” was a consciously contextual album that thrives off being authentic and expressive. Moe Carter is a rapper I have never seen before, and this album was fully comprehensive for the lovers of real raw hip-hop. You can listen to the EP “Dr. Satin” here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Moe Carter! Mind telling our readers a bit about your upbringing and background? I was brought up by heavily influenced musical parents my mom occasionally dee-jayed in high school and my pops were a respected rapper in the late 90s locally. I grew a passion for rapping around 97 in around Fall time my Senior had me on punishment for messing up in school so I could only do 3 things at the time and that did homework, watch the news, and listen to him and his homeboy's rap over beats about 3 rooms down from mines. They rapped over mad varieties of beat selections but the one that stuck out was a TONY instrumental from Capone n N.O.R.E. I was feeling the vibe and sample they used for the breaks, I picked up a pad and the rest was history I mean of course I wasn't as skilled as I am today but it was time to be taken that molded me into a great rhymer. Who would you consider some of your major influences for rap and why? I get asked this often and honestly, there's a lot of influences but let's keep it on rap and three off the top of my head is Jay-Z, Lil Wayne, and Styles P hands down. Weezy taught me how to be confident as the underdog he always had his way of being himself and taking risks in music culture in a way of being comfortable in his skin regardless if you love or hate him, you can't stop the machine he's built. Hov I don't know how to start, too many ways he's our modern-day renaissance man who always keeps his head on swivel in a business sense the only cats rapping back in the day doing it on a level like that was him and another OG from New Orleans but anyway that's what Jay-Z has stamped on me and other aspiring businessmen, gain your assets and don't spend your checks on an abundance of flash, cars, drugs, women; be smart get your land, 401ks, life insurance and play the long game; raise that money tree proper. Styles P is my fav rapper hands down last but not least from him I found inspiration on how to display my emotions on wax whether its pain or glory. S.P. is a humble and loyal person I always looked up to those characteristics from him and his camp respectively. Your EP “Dr. Satin” was super unique and dope! What was the main theme behind the intricate songs of this project? Thank you guys very much, simply put it was a personal spinoff of the Dr. Strange comic book series but instead of fighting enemies I'm fighting my mental problems with some help from the allies of my label SGMG. From giving you a survey of my opinions towards society, relationships, judgment, and other subjects that makes us self conscious and reluctant to sit down and talk about; I'm expressing myself to gain an inner balance mentally to not be affected with what goes on in life and to keep being myself regardless of change or what people think is cool or not. How would you describe our songwriting approach? Which song on “Dr. Satin” best represents your artistry and why? My songwriting approach is based off the mood the instrumentals give me but most of the time it starts off with writing either 4 impactful bars with heavy detail or something easy and catchy to remember, track number two titled "JOGG" is the best representation of my writing ability because it allows me to kinda freeflow my thoughts into rhyme schemes and syllables to where I'm just in tune with my environment and whatever vibe I get from it just turns into plenty of raw expression and ideas. I pretty much ran with this format on about 20 songs and 11 made the cut, you guys will hear the other 6 sometime in 2020 on Dr. Satin Part 2. What were some of the challenges you face in the making of this EP? Timing, engineering, and balancing my music life with parenthood I got a daughter who has me wrapped around her finger (laughs). I won't say it made the music-making process difficult but either date had to get pushed back, mixes didn't come back in the because certain files got lost, the promotion wasn't set upright. Those types of things that's why I'm currently seeking management sometime soon hopefully so I can focus on the music a bit more and keep those songs coming for the people who love it, shoutouts to all of y'all. What are you looking forward to in 2020 Moe Carter? A catalog of music I'm going in next year! First off I got another EP titled "MoeJoe" releasing exclusively on SoundCloud it got some bangers on there, my clothing line "GIIK Armii will be making its t-shirt premiere in the middle of the year, a surprise LP is in the works for December I can't give the title name at the moment, and I'm also collaborating with my NMLS (No More Ls) group all year round who's been gaining a pretty nice buzz over social media as well and you can find all of this greatness at moecartersgmg.com make sure you subscribe to the mailing list trust me if you love great music and even greater people you wouldn't want to miss it! instagram.com/darealmoecarter #BuzzMusic

But let’s not talk about the rhythmic drum kicks and beat that will have your body moving and grooving along to the song. “Best Of Me” is the perfect song to play at any celebration, party, or simply just a place of leisure and companionship. This trail-blazing song is radio-ready! With a significant amount of marketability, “Best Of Me” is an attractive single that will bring in the right crowd of listeners and expand the fan base that JKXO is constantly growing for himself. Now you’re probably wondering, “Who is this sensational JKXO?”. Well let’s just say he’s a fantastic multi-instrumentalist, singer, songwriter, and producer who blends synth-wave pop, indie R&B, and nu-disco soul to paint a picture of love in a digital world. Sounds dope right? Well, his music is even more fascinating! And you can listen to his magical record “Best Of Me” here. Welcome back to BuzzMusic JKXO! Mind refreshing our readers a bit about your background and upbringing? How did you discover your passion for music? I've always loved music, I was 'writing songs' at age 5 before I knew what songwriting even was. I studied piano and theory at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music for a while. But all my other musical skills (guitar, production, etc) were just things I picked up over the years. When listening to your single “Best Of Me” we noticed a huge classic disco style to it. Who are some of your inspirations? Yeah totally a disco vibe...groups like 'Earth Wind and Fire' have always been a huge influence, and modern-day artists like Tom Misch and Mac Ayres have also been inspiring. What was the theme behind those poetically catchy lyrics in “Best Of Me”? I've always liked to keep my lyrics a little abstract, this song is just about being addicted to someone. What are some of the challenges you may have occurred during the creative process of “Best Of Me”? Did you produce this record as well? This song was a two-year process. I made the original version in 2017, knew there was something missing so I sat on it for a while. That time allowed for some amazing collaborations to happen...including rapper Sincerely Collins verse, and production from an ex-GOOD music producer Ryan McDermott. Also loved having producer/violinist Bad Snacks compose/perform the violin part. While my last single R!DE was self-produced and put together in 2 weeks, this one was a long-term, collective process. I love and appreciate both types of processes equally. It just depends on the song. As 2019 comes to an end, what’s next for you JKXO? My 'Season 1' project drops early 2020. Season 2 will come out shortly after that. It should be an amazing year with a lot of cool stuff lined up...will announce it all soon! instagram.com/jkxosound facebook.com/jkxosound twitter.com/jkxojkxo #BuzzMusic

  • Izova and Raj Will's New Ep Shockwave Show What Hard Work and Dedication Is Made Of

The collaborative duo of Izova and Raj will have come together in less than a month to create a soulful EP titled “Shockwave”. With a combination of over five years of experience as not only artists but also indie artist-entrepreneurs, the two engineered a track that truly represents heart and ambition for their craft. From Watts, California, Izova gains inspiration from his environment to express his views and experience through his music. Izova, The Khemist, has fashioned a new ‘shock’ to the current state of Hip-Hop to which he calls “The Fix”. Izova defines this as “a determination of where and what your vision is, creating the life to lead to it”. A better sense of fixed living. He channels struggle and advisterity as a fuel to create amazing work and take the industry by storm. “Shockwave” exemplifies the individuality and hustle of these Los Angeles natives to produce a tasteful Hip-Hop original. Beginning, with a funky swaying beat you can envision in any local club. These rappers use meaningful lyrics to take a simple concept we can all relate to. Work hard to be successful and “don’t beg for help”. If you want to “make a billion” you have to “grind it out every day” and see how these results will pan out. Both lyrically talented with moving words. Listen to "Shockwave" here. Welcome to BuzzMusic. Thank you both for coming together to put forth this shocking Hip-Hop track. Can you tell us what inspired you two to work together? Most definitely, thanks for allowing us to share. I think the inspiration happened without us even realizing it. Shockwave was an idea left unfinished. I sent it to Izova and he had a great verse to put with it then it dawned upon us to create a whole project as a way to show not only ourselves but the culture around us that were a force to be messed with. In the lyrics, you mention how people might prejudge you. Do these lyrics draw on a specific personal experience? Raj Will: Being artists and entrepreneurs we often might get placed inside of a box so what we're saying is don't put a limit of what we're capable of accomplishing in this entertainment industry. Izova- most if not all if my music is personal. So for me I put my life into that verse -Shockwave. Can you explain how “Shockwave” may be similar or different from your other works? Raj Will- Prior to the Shockwave EP I released singles after a 4 year hiatus from my artistry as I embarked on a journey of rediscovering myself through audio and music production. Izova- our solo music is dope but the joint music is a dose we created together to create one joint sound. Who is your biggest inspiration when creating your lyrics? Any particular artists that have shaped with work? Raj Will- No artists, in particular, inspires my lyrics however I do admire the writings of Kendrick, Andre 3 Stacks, Will Smith and Pac Izova- Same here more so inspired by my personal experiences and the legacies that have been left behind for us to follow. What does the future bring for Izova? Any upcoming tours? Raj Will-Keep going beyond as a sound artist. Izova-creating a larger fan base and bigger buzz we are hungry. instagram.com/rajwillbeyond facebook.com/rajwillbeyond instagram.com/izovamusic facebook.com/Izovamusic #BuzzMusic

  • Listen to the Delicate and Soft Soundings of Gabby Patrice in Her Latest Single "White"

Born in Boston, MA, but currently residing in Nashville, Gabby Patrice comes at the Indie/Pop music scene at full swing. Her sound is light, genuine, and blended with a variety of contemporary sounds. Playing at venues such as Listening Room Cafe, to Bridgestone Arena, Gabby shares her sultry and hypnotizing sound with a clear sense of passion to her listeners. We can already feel the type of energy surging through the venue during her performances. We also know that she's constantly looking for ways to elevate her sound, especially so with her latest release "White", which blends ethereal melodies with an eclectic vocal sound that we know our BuzzMusic Indie/Pop listeners will appreciate. Gabby Patrice is the definition of a captivating vocal presence. Her sound in "White" is airy, blending in angelic and atmospheric elements, which ultimately creates that surreal ambiance. Gabby stuns us with her vocal range. Her voice radiates at a variety of intervals, and we're amazed at the various melodies she can sustain throughout "White". Gabby accentuates her single with her charming presence and her enthralling story-telling. She makes you feel vulnerable and delicate. Her soft approach to music is what ironically makes her stand out the most, and we've gained a huge sense of curiosity for what Gabby will release next. Discover "White" here. Hi Gabby! Welcome to BuzzMusic, and thanks for coming on here to talk about your latest single "White"! How were you intending to connect with your listeners with this particular release? The reason that I decided to release White was because of the reaction it was getting when I played it live. I wrote White about an extremely personal situation, and I thought that I was alone in that situation. After playing it, listeners would come up to me and tell me that they could relate and that they could not believe there was a song out there about their exact situation. My song made people feel understood. This song is much like a diary entree that I never thought people would read. My listeners are going to know me on a very personal level after this release, and I am ready to be vulnerable in order to spread my story and make a stronger connection.  Your vocal range within "White" was stunning! Your voice is incredibly captivating. Did this aspect to your sound take time to create and manufacture, or does it flow effortlessly for you? Thank you so much! This may sound strange, but my voice is something that I can't really explain. I know that the rasp came from a jazz band class where I was taught to sing a Norah Jones song, but the way it has developed is honestly through performing all the time. If you spend enough time on something, you can learn a lot pretty quickly! How do you feel your music, particularly your latest single "White", compares to your other recent music? Were you intending to take your music in a different direction with this particular single? "White" is definitely different than the other three songs I have released. When I decided to release pop music, I wanted it to be music that made listeners feel confident. I wanted them to be able to dance and work out to my music and I wanted it to inspire listeners to move. I was never going to release "White" because it is so slow and emotional in a sad way. It is a personal song about a situation that I kept a secret for years. I thought I was going through something unique and it made me feel pretty alone. After I started playing the song out, I could not believe the amount of people that came up to me telling me about how they went through the exact same thing. They would cry and thank me and I couldn't believe it.  A song that I wrote was making people feel less alone. I decided that as an artist, I am not going to limit myself to one type of song. I can have my fun confident dance songs and then I can have the songs that make you feel sad, loved, or heard. I wouldn't say I am taking my music in a different direction from here, I would just say that I am opening up and showing people all the different sides of me!  Can you tell us about your live performances, and how the performing side of music differs from the writing and recording for you personally? Performing is a pretty crazy thing for me. I absolutely love to perform. Since day one I have believed in every song I have sang. Whether it be a cover song or a song I wrote, I put myself in that person's position and perform that song to the best of my ability. I do the same with writing. I started co-writing in Nashville four years ago, and if I come in with an idea that has to do with a situation I am going through it is pretty easy to write. If I am writing for someone else, I listen to their situation and put myself there. To perform one of my songs like "Bad Girl" is extremely different than performing my song "White." Bad Girl was a song about not being walked all over anymore. When I perform it, I am confident. I go right back to the reasons I wrote that song and I try to do it justice. With White, going back to that situation can be really hard but I believe I am doing justice to my music by going there mentally and performing the song from that place. It makes it real.  I like to pour everything into recording, writing, and performing. There is certainly a difference between sweat pants in a writers room or sparkly outfits on stage under lights, but mentally for me they are very similar.  It's incredible that you've written over 100 songs! What a milestone! How do you feel looking back on your career in the music industry thus far? I am extremely proud of how far I have come. I am from a family of thirteen children all from the Boston area. I moved to Nashville alone, not knowing anyone. I gave up everything I knew for the one thing that I still haven't quite figured out. It has been almost four years, and I have learned so much about my music my voice and my strength. It is not easy, but the growth is extremely comforting in a world that can be so confusing. I have made plenty of mistakes but I have also done things I never imagined I would do. I have played in the Bridgestone arena. I have sung in writers rounds alongside hit songwriters. I have started a writer's night that I have been running for two years that goes on every Monday night. I have written a lot of songs that I am incredibly proud of.  I have received emails from so many artists asking to sit down for coffee so that they can get advice on music and Nashville. I may not be some famous artist, but I continue to grow and with every step, I feel better and more confidence in my decision to be a Nashville singer/songwriter.  Thanks again Gabby for coming on BuzzMusic and talking with us and our readers! Are you planning on writing and recording more, or are you planning on taking a break after the release of "White"? Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to me!  Writing is my favorite thing to do and I am constantly writing ideas no matter if I'm in a session or not. I don't think I could take a break from writing if I tried! I do want to continue putting music out for sure. I am going to be releasing music in 2020 and I will be playing as many shows as I can! facebook.com/Gabbypatricemusic instagram.com/Gabbypatricemusic #BuzzMusic

  • Receive an Ample Amount of Purposeful Experiences from Imaginary Friends in Their New Album

Imaginary Friends are the pinnacle of Alternative/Rock. They give listeners a sound to appreciate and embed such important messages within their sound that not only give listeners a moment to reflect on their own life experiences, but also give listeners a new perspective to many life topics. We're impressed with the amount of vulnerability presented with Imaginary Friends album, and they ultimately gained a surplus of fans after we listened to the album in its entirety here at BuzzMusic! We'll get right into the riveting, and almost informative tracks present on the band's album. Imaginary Friends starts off this album with "Lucid Uncertainty". It's a track that encompasses the very struggles about being content with one's self, and ultimately striving for self-happiness. The striking guitar riffs and aggressive drum appearance give the track it's soul and energy. The vocalism blends in with that hard-hitting production and successfully imparts that feeling one feels when trying to find an equilibrium within their own life. "Lucid Uncertainty" maintains a vibe independent of its message, which brings about that balanced contrast between tone and meaning. The mental battle one has to overcome with loving themself again is strongly outlined throughout "Lucid Uncertainty" and it makes for a more impactful experience as a listener. "Boolin" is the next track we're introduced to, which embeds political elements within its message. First, we must talk about its production and collection of rhythms that create the laxest vibe. It's the exact kind of tune you want to hear on a predominant alternative/rock track, with an interesting twist added in with the elemental synths blended within. With newer generations coming to express their own opinions within the political world present today, Imaginary Friends express their ideologies on how such new generations aren't taken seriously with their input. Speaking on the corruptness of politicians and the irony presented within their reasoning for silencing newer generations, "Boolin" can be fastly understood as the political hallmark from this particular album by Imaginary Friends. The writhing melody throughout the track also makes for an intriguing experience, and ultimately we were left feeling with a fresh perspective and buzzing atmosphere. This buzzing feeling continues with Imaginary Friends next track "Reckless Behaviour". A heavy pattern within the tracks by Imaginary Friends is that bustling guitar presence, which sets the overall tone for the album. Within "Reckless Behaviour" these guitar elements are continuous and radiant throughout the entirety of the track, maintaining a great personality for the song itself. Imaginary Friends touch on the difficulties in coping with mental disorders, and the actions that result from various coping mechanisms. It's a refreshing perspective from the band, and they execute such a perspective in a way that is both catchy, yet purposeful and relevant. If you thought Imaginary Friends were done with trying to instill important values within their listeners, you were wrong! They don't stop with this aspect of their music, and you can expect to see such impressionable ideals throughout this album. "Whatever" is the next track doing exactly this, and Imaginary Friends now use their music with this particular track to allow listeners to understand the lethargy and indifference one faces towards their own mental disorders. It's raw and will undoubtedly make your perspective widen. The programming in this track stands out---it's authentic in all forms and we find it to be an incredibly honest track, exhibiting the most vulnerable parts of one's emotions. The same type of energy is kept for "Novocain Commodities" in terms of expressing vulnerable and personal emotions. Imaginary Friends touch on the challenges in weighing out a relationship and its flaws (a feeling we already know many of us have encountered). "Novocain Commodities" is honestly an incredibly rejuvenating track in all senses. The melody, it's a sensation, and it's the message. The title has its own sense of irony, in the sense that relationships can be similar to the effects of Novocain, as Imaginary Friends sings "you are my Novocain, you make me feel so numb, it's just so pleasant baby, I just can't get enough [...] you are a dagger baby, you cut me up so good [..] you are a bullet racing through my chest". The contrast between the feelings one is bombarded with in terms of a relationship is incredibly reflective throughout this track, and this was the track that really stood out to us on this album. Explaining the feeling of a toxic relationship in the most complementing way, Imaginary Friends affirm listeners understanding of the true grasp of a harmful relationship. "Hellbent" is the next sounding we're encountering on this Imaginary Friends album. Exasperated, fun, and booming are the feelings you'll be introduced to within this track. With a painful message, "Hellbent" expresses itself in a heavy-hitting way. This Imaginary Friends track had our feet tapping along with the beat, and our head bobbing to the finalized rhythm. It's fast and chronically hardcore. "Hellbent" gets your blood pumping for sure! We come to the seventh track on Imaginary Friends 10-track album: "Responsibilities". Compared to "Hellbent", this track is a little more relaxed and introduces a new sort of vibe from Imaginary Friends. We get that collection of funky synths again, and it creates an evolutionary sound for Imaginary Friends. We love the elements of this particular track because it's so divergent from the usual sound we can expect to hear from the band. Although it has more of that loose tune, don't underestimate the bands' ability to intertwine that with a brisk execution. "Responsibilities", as the title suggests, explains the burden of obligations. Many can relate, especially when that burden is combined with other life hardships, and Imaginary Friends does their best to communicate that exact emotion across their sound. "Trinity" is similar in the way that it's more laid-back than the rest of the tracks on the album, and it introduces more of a lenient side of the band. "Trinity" brings us back into the life of Imaginary Friend's vocalist, and the grief presents earlier in his life. Again, listeners can expect to see that organic aspect of Imaginary Friends music--all experiences coming from their personal lives, without any fabrication or deceit. As we head near the end of the album, "Bloody Knuckles" is the track we hear next. We're brought back to that high-energy sound we were first introduced to within this album, and it's at this point we realize how in tune we are with their aggressive production approach, blended with more of a gentle vocalism. "Bloody Knuckles" is the epitome of failing to reach certain expectations within a relationship, and the overall indignation that arises from that. More of a gritty sounding in "Bloody Knuckles", Imaginary Friends play with different soundings that end up complementing their overall sound. And this complementation of playing with sounds presents itself again within their latest track off of this album, "Lately". With a contentious appeal towards toxic relationships, Imaginary Friends play devil's advocate with proposing to work out such virulent relationships. Within their proposition, the band collectively introduces the concept of sticking relationships out within their worst stage and attempting to enjoy the indifference, leading to mending such chaotic behavior (the sounding too is absolutely killer with this track). All in all, Imaginary Friends don't hold back on implementing their intrinsic values and life experiences, which we're completely here for! Listening to their experiences and motives is riveting, and it was enjoyable to not only receive that killer alternative/rock track and melody but to receive a meaningful input on issues many faces on the daily. Issues that are personal to many individuals, and that aren't spoken about often. Imaginary Friends surpassed our expectations with this album, and this band is hot on our radar for upcoming music. The band blends well together in terms of sound, meaning, and consummation of their music. Imaginary Friends are not the kind of band one forgets once listening to, and we highly recommend our alternative/rock BuzzMusic listeners to check out their most recent album below! Give a listen to Imaginary Friends album here. Hey Imaginary Friends! What a treat to be able to feature your latest album here on BuzzMusic! How did the creation of this album come about? Were there are creative differences during the curative and/or recording process? Hey! It’s an awesome opportunity to be getting featured. The album came about basically as a couple of high school kids using music as a creative outlet. We dropped an EP back in 2014 or so and it was a couple of kids trying to be rockstars. It was a lot of us (mostly our singer) trying to be something we’re not. We were trying way too hard to be edgy and gritty-as opposed to letting it come naturally. From there, we kept that in mind and promised ourselves to be 100% genuine and as a result, our sound totally changed. The album came about through making songs as ways to voice certain ideas, opinions, and such about numerous different topics. This is part of the reason why the album has songs that venture through so many different genres. There were a couple of minor creative differences in the process of making the songs and recording them. Devin (our drummer) and Michael (our singer) worked mostly in the recording process, but we're both super honest-and if their ideas didn’t work out, or weren’t as good as a different idea, they would respond honestly and choose what’s best for the song. Not to mention, Miles Hall, the guy who recorded us, went above and beyond and essentially acted as a producer and gave some awesome suggestions. By the end of the recording process, the band was down to two official members, so it did leave less room for arguments due to less butting heads. What a collection of impressionable experiences and perspectives within this album! It was amazing to listen to this album in its entirety and be able to resonate with a lot of messages brought up on the band's end. What track would you guys say was the most impactful to the band? The cool thing about making these songs as we grew up, is that you can really dive into the mindset of where you were back when you wrote the song. Each guy has a specific song they love above the rest, for various reasons. Devin, our drummer, loves Novocain Commodity because it really elevated our songwriting and broke us out of the standard of a stereotypical rhyme scheme and song structure. Novocain Commodity essentially pushed us into our own sound. Our bassist, Leonard, and our pianist/cellist, Omar, particularly love Lately. (Michael, our singer, loves it as well.) Leonard loves Lately because it’s catchy and melancholy at the same time, while providing something that a lot of people can relate to in the avoidance of conflict or the bittersweet end of a relationship. Omar likes Lately because it’s conciseness and clarity-visibly upgrading past sounds/songwriting, marking a new era of musicality of the band. Michael, our singer, particularly loves the song Bloody Knuckles. The raw emotion behind the lyrics and harsh delivery delivers our thoughts exactly how they felt inside of our heads. Not to mention, it provides a change of pace on the album and reminds Michael of some of his early 2000’s influences he grew up listening to. As we listened throughout the album, it became evident that there were many personal and private emotions shared with your listeners. Was it hard to express such vulnerable emotions within this particular album, or does that part of your music come easy to the band? As kids, we grew up together, so we were used to being open and honest, to a painful degree, at times. It took a little bit, but we all learned to be open with each other and didn’t necessarily feel like we couldn’t talk about certain things with each other. The public’s perception is another thing entirely, but we have all learned to adopt the mindset that people will relate to these songs; these songs can help people; these songs can make people smile. This means any scared or anxious feelings got washed away. We also all grew up as musical theatre kids, so we were never particularly afraid to put ourselves out there. As we know, the band does comment on political elements throughout "Boolin". As a band, are you collectively comfortable with commenting on political topics, and do you see yourself incorporating more of this perspective into future tracks? As a band, we just find being genuine crucial. Our opinions are exactly that, our opinions. Everybody in the band has an “agree to disagree” ideology when it comes to controversial topics. We have opinions and aren’t afraid to let them be known, but we don’t want to stomp on anybody else’s. As far as whether or not we will be incorporating our perspectives in the future is unknown. For Boolin, we didn’t start with the idea to write a song about our political perspectives; it just kind of happened. When you have stuff on your mind, it tends to show. I feel like at some point, it’s bound to happen again, but it isn’t something we aim to write about. What a great experience it was to listen to your album in full, and be able to talk with you guys on it! Now that this album is out, what direction are Imaginary Friends going now?! We are getting back to writing and trying to do more live shows. We are also trying to get our names out there so we have more friends to share our music with. We would all absolutely love to tour. We are all also in agreement that we would love to do this for a living as long as we can, so we are just trying to improve constantly and make more music! facebook.com/ImaginaryFriendsOfficial instagram.com/imaginaryfriendsofficial #BuzzMusic

  • Listen to the Hip Hop Stylings of AjGod & Toriyama in "Water"

AjGod & Toriyama are two artists that are stemming from the collective trio Kurse Krew. AjGod, being in charge of the production stylings, is the type of artist that will inevitably impress you with his smooth execution, as well as his ability to create the impressionable atmosphere of their tracks. Toriyama, being most in control of the vocal performance, has nailed the soundings he chose to exploit, and when the two artists come together, we receive the right manipulation of Hip/Hop curations. "Water" has the best introductory beat that drew us and our attention immediately. It's light, catchy, and ultimately the type of beat most Hip Hop listeners resonate with. AjGod & Toriyama begin presenting their verses soon into the track and showcase their amicable artistry. Once we first heard the vocalism of Toriyama, we knew there was a sense of familiarity there with the execution, and soon realized that he has such similar elements to his voice as Chance The Rapper, Ludacris and T.I, all mixed with the personal soundings of his vision. The production from AjGod is what makes this track, as it completely complements the flow of Toriyama. "Water" wouldn't be the type of hype track it is without the distinct production execution, that's for sure! You can check out "Water" here. Hey AjGod & Toriyama! Thanks for coming to BuzzMusic to talk music with us. How do you guys feel about the recent release of "Water", as well as the attention the tracks been getting so far? (Toriyama) It's dope, i definitely wanna push those views up. For the most part I'm just proud of really how the track turned out. Definitely one of the more elite songs on the album. Is collaborating together easy? Is it typical to flow through the creation of a track, or does the curative stage of the songwriting take a bit longer due to creative clashes? (Toriyama) Collaborating in general we've done numerous of times. This is definitely the 1st time where we do it for something more specific. It's a testament to where we are creatively right now. Any creative clash just goes in the process. Tell us more about your collaborative album "Krew Entertainment"! Does the album showcase a specific story in each track, or do you guys typically prefer curating the tracks that encompass a lighter, more fun execution on the lyric side? (Toriyama) I don't really know what curated means. But it's definitely something more on the showcase level. It's about 30 minutes of music. Something you can run through on break time if you wanna feel uplifted & restored. How do you feel "Water" differed from the typical tracks you guys release? Was there a specific calling to this type of track--something that stemmed the inspiration to curate it? (Toriyama) Nothing's typical there's almost always a different approach to whatever me and skala do. I definitely knew I wanted it when I heard it. Sat on it for a sec making sure the track was spread out evenly as possible. It's the song I had the most fun writing. It differs from the level of confidence in the record. Perfect beat, perfect raps, perfect video. It differs definitely because of time as far as where skala & myself are currently & where he chooses to go with the production. Me being confident in skala also puts the same confidence in my rhymes. It defers because of our growth. Thanks again for talking with us about your latest releases! We're very in-tune with the soundings of you two, and the type of atmosphere you're able to easily create with the combination of your production and lyrical outflow! Are you two planning on attending shows to showcase your latest album? (Toriyama) Yesssssss if you wanna see a good performance. Come see AjGod & Toriyama at the DNA Lounge on the 24th of November. The show starts at 6:30pm.  We'll be performing 2 tracks from the album. Address: 375 11th St, San Francisco, CA 94103. instagram.com/krew_toriyama instagram.com/ajgod510 #BuzzMusic

  • Paper Dragon Mellows out Their Sound With Recent Track "New Religion"

Paper Dragon creates an artistry that is unique to themselves and their category. They're releasing new music, and we're highly intrigued by their combination of contrasting synths, as well as their choice of dynamics within their sound. Most recently, they've created a track that takes on a different type of execution. We present Paper Dragon's track: "New Religion". Paper Drago's begin "New Religion" off with an eclectic styling, and it grabbed our attention immediately. Soon after, we're introduced to the vocal dynamics of Paper Dragon, and again, we're mesmerized by their eccentric execution. "New Religion" incorporates a collection of piano soundings that fully transcended our experience as listeners. They're quirky, strong, fun, and angelical all at the same time, making for a sound we haven't quite heard before. They're shaking up their category and transforming their sound to an impressive level. We also must comment on the fact their combined sound is incredibly rich, with intricate complexions. Deep synths present throughout "New Religion" is undoubtedly another elevating aspect, and quite possibly the very element that adds the perfect amount of musical contrast. It's clear that Paper Dragon added in new aspects and soundings to this track, and we appreciate the dynamic flow they can easily capture while recording. Discover "New Religion" here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Paper Dragon! It's great that we can take a moment to chat about your most recent music! Can you tell us about the production of your latest track "New Religion", and how the vision initially started for this track? Thanks, BuzzMusic for taking the time to speak with us. We have had a lot of fun making this track it was one of those tracks that came together really quickly and instinctively. The track like a lot of our songs is about relationships and the give and take between people. Once we had the first sketch we had the absolute pleasure of getting a day to record in Peter Gabriel’s Real World Studios. This is where the track really came alive. Our amazing pianist Dorian Childs-Prophet bought the chords to life and then at the end of the day we all sat around and had that moment of thinking this could be a special track. What're your personal impressions when listening to "New Religion"? We all love the cleanness in production, the quality of each element but presented in this drum and bass/Jungle style. Mixing soulful songwriting with darker, dirtier beats and bass. There is not much out there at the moment fitting this style so we are looking to pioneer a new sound. Can you describe the evolution of your music, from your earlier releases, to now? Do you feel like you're progressing in the way you've wanted to as a collective? This is our first release as Paper Dragon, but we have all been involved in releasing music before. The fusing of styles has been a real evolution, Ruth’s’ soulful voice accompanying the electronic production is unique and interesting, working with Fred V and Grafix and an impressive range of successful projects; Jon has a keen eye for production having managed some big shows, such as Koan Sound, Hospital and Warp records; Bruce worked with TC, Jakes, Distorted minds and Mushroom (Massive Attack) writing/performing/ producing and Kris has worked with Underworld, Kate Bush, U2 (at Abbey Road). That is the amazing thing about our collective we each bring an important part but also cover a broad shared area of skill and interest in songwriting and production. What're your performances like? What kind of energy pulsates throughout the crowd? We have our first live show booked for 11th December at the Crofters Rights in Bristol UK https://www.facebook.com/events/392241974988394/ So come and see for yourself!! We're definitely intrigued to see what will be the next release from Paper Dragon! Any hints on what the next step is for Paper Dragon? We have spent the last 18months in the studio and have now a really amazing selection of tunes to drop, they are quite eclectic. There is a solid foundation of song-driven drum and bass/breaks based tracks and we have a few downtempo soulful tracks. We can’t wait to share all of this music with you. Thanks again we have really enjoyed sharing with you. facebook.com/paperdragonmusic instagram.com/paperdragonofficial #BuzzMusic
