  • Fan Favorite Lightweight Literate Sheds Light On His New Album “LLNOTCOOLJ”

Lightweight Literate is a naturally talented artist born and raised in Yuba City, California. Lightweight Literate was fortunate enough to have an upbringing full of family, friends, support, and opportunity, contrary to the average rapper. While many artists have a sense of pride for the struggle they endured, Lightweight Literate focuses on the positives of being brought up in an ideal family. Lightweight Literate has been active in the hip-hop music scene for a few years now. He’s garnered himself an impressive 26k monthly listeners on Spotify and his brand new music video for his single “LLNOTCOOLJ” has amassed more than 12k views on Youtube alone. “LLNOTCOOLJ” also serves as the title of Lightweight Literates third full-length mixtape, released June of 2019. The album features 11-tracks of melodic verses, hard-hitting bars, and Lightweight Literates notably contagious sound. Equipped with late-night bangers like “Beast Side”, tracks that feature heavier subject matter like “Deputy”, and completely introspective thought-provoking tracks like “Old Mind” the album showcases Lightweight Literates extreme versatility and skill as a well-rounded artist. He brings character, grit, and authentic confidence back into the music scene and it’s exactly what hip-hop needs. I highly recommend you become acquainted with Lightweight Literate’s music and keep up with him for future releases! Listen to “LLNOTCOOLJ” here and read more with Lightweight Literate below! Welcome back to BuzzMusic Lightweight Literate! It’s such a pleasure to be chatting with you again. You seem to be an artist that puts a substantial amount of thought into your lyrics! Who/what has inspired you to be the artist you are today? I draw inspiration from everything. I get inspired by artists who have an amount of work in their catalog that baffles me. I’m talking like 250- 300 songs, shows incredible discipline. I am also working on optimizing my music in every way, so I’m inspired automatically by trying to outdo my old work. "LLNOTCOOLJ" is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? Can you tell us all about the sultry new music video? This track’s hook literally just came from the title I had, thankfully the melody came through for me and the verses are easy to come by. MogelMinded productions hooked it up with the idea that it just be a “flexful” video. Money and girls. I’m a rapper ain’t I. “Old Mind” seems like a deeply personal track. Is vulnerability something your fans can always expect from your music? Can you tell us more about this particular song? I give a lot (probably too much) of my personal life out in songs. So there will forever be a vulnerable aspect. Old mind is definitely one of the more emotional tracks for me. It’s about trusting people that you come into contact with. Starting anew with people you don’t know and not being jaded and lumping them in with the people that hurt you in the past. We know that you're a lover of integrating a variety of elements in your music. Would you ever incorporate contrasting genres into your music, or do you think it would ruin the type of sound you're attempting to reach? I don’t think I’m trying to reach a specific sound. That whole find your sound thing is BS to me, it always made me feel like I was copying others unless I sound like an alien. You hear a lot of artists in the past in me, but I bring my own twist. My sound is a bunch of different sounds. With that being said I might fuck around and go country next album. Thank you so much for chatting with us. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future to further promote "LLNOTCOOLJ"? A collab Tape with about 6-7 tracks and my fourth full-length mixtape. No shows currently, I’ve been in the dungeon working on creating more. Keep up with Lightweight Literate through social media! www.facebook.com/lightweightliterate www.instagram.com/lightweightliterate #BuzzMusic

  • KFIR is back with a dreamy pop anthem “Ocean Breeze”

Kfir is a New York-based singer/songwriter, and performing artist who had a musically diverse upbringing resulted in him finding a love of music and performance. Starting his career as a professional ballet dancer, Kfir’s love of the art-form as a whole is clearly evident through many levels of artistry. His new single “Ocean Breeze”, serves at the first single released from his upcoming EP “One Time With You”, set to release in 2020! Stay tuned for more. “Ocean Breeze” cascades around you like this stunning wave of carefully selected synths and moments, progressing quickly from smooth and dreamlike to rhythmically engaging, and making perfect sense in the process. The song successfully envelops its audience and delivers the feeling of sitting under palm trees. “Ocean Breeze” presents yet another giant leap forward for the artist Kfir. His attention to detail, backed up by a clearly emotive and heartfelt way with sound design, makes for an easy go-to when escapism or the warmth of the volume is all that’s on your mind. That loving undertone throughout “Ocean Breeze” adds a layer of realness and humanity to the mix, and the flawless and genuine vocal delivery furthers the effect even more. An absolute hit and a brilliantly timeless song that is hopefully similar to what’s next from Kfir’s upcoming EP “One Time With You” in 2020!  Listen to “Ocean Breeze” here. Welcome back Kfir! We're completely captivated by your sound--you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent single “Ocean Breeze”? I’m so happy to be back. Thank you for loving the sound as I do. Ocean breeze was born while I was on my winter break in Miami’s south beach. I was seated under the palm trees on Collins Ave listening to some beats that were sent to me. I came across one track that as soon as I heard it, I started humming the chorus to OB. Right there I FaceTime my co-writer Javier Cardellino, who resides in Uruguay and 20 minutes later we had created verses, pre-chorus, and a bridge. An hour later I got back to Javi with a full lyric sheet. We recorded the demo, it was a very fast and smooth process. Then I took it to producer Majik Reed to put his spin on it. The intention for this track was a specific discerption of the moment we wrote it in, enjoying it so thoroughly that you never want to leave. I also added a bit of a lyrical scenario on top of that about meeting an unexpected love interest. Getting carried away, refusing to go back to the grind even entertaining the thought of giving up your current reality and basking in the moment of freedom and love forever. You've had such a strong love and passion for the arts your whole life! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? I think I’ve grown a lot, as an artist and as a person. This new EP is the perfect example. I’m more trusting in my gut feeling and trying to stay true to the main ideas of what I intended to create. I spend less time trying to mold the song and just allowing it to form naturally. If it feels good to me I do it. After so much rejection and disappointment in trying to make people in the business see what I see and hear, I’m not trying to fit the mold anymore. I just want to be me. I think you are going to be able to hear my growth from my past body of work. This time I wanted the tracks to be lighter less melodically complicated and easy to follow, more Pop with the sexy flair of R&B and some Hip Hop influences. What can you tell us about “One Time With You”? We’re so excited to hear more! This EP, if I could describe it by a color I would choose white and in some parts very passionate red, It’s light, happy and thankful. I also went back to my dance roots. I want to have fun and show it in my staging of the songs for performances. I want to talk about sex, love, clubbing and sunny islands and palm trees. I think it fits every season and extremely relatable to anyone. I really hope people who listen to it, will make it their own on every level. “Ocean Breeze” is the perfect track to introduce listeners to your upcoming EP “One Time With You”. What is your reasoning behind choosing this single to release first? OB was the first track I wrote right after the release of my EP Free Delivery. It was the one that opened the creative flood gates to the rest of my writings. I also planned on releasing it back in August cause it is the perfect track to try and keep the summer here. And I don’t know any kid or adult who wants to leave a vacation behind. But because of some studio schedule conflicts, it was pushed back. Though I’m happy it’s out now it can fit any season. What's the next move for you artistically? Are you playing any shows in the near future to promote "One Time With You”? Today I am performing on Broadway in Andrews Lloyd Webber Phantom of the Opera. I would love to create a mini show of my material. Mixing past body of works with the new OTWU EP. Go out there and introduce my sound to more people. I am currently working on the following single which the EP is named after and creating a music video for it. I will also keep on looking for representation in hopes that someone will see and hear the potential of this material and will help me create a bigger stage show and eventually tour. I’ll keep on dreaming. www.instagram.com/Kfirmusic #BuzzMusic

Is this a skill you've developed over time or has it come naturally to you? It’s a skill I feel I developed over time. As an artist, you have to believe in yourself for others to buy what you’re selling. Confidence if placed properly is the key to have a good network. I think as creators your network is your net worth if your confidence gets you that with the right mind and attitude opportunities come to you in a sense. “Ivory” hit us to our very core with your vocal performance. Do you find it comes effortlessly to fill your voice with such passion? not really haha I’m not the best dancer so I just try to groove with the beat. I think the image is key and if you vibe with your product your clientele will too. Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of your life? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music? Definitely, when I think music is seasonal. And with summer done I wanna keep a bit of warmth every time I deliver my music. Like the vibe, I think Ivory gives. Congrats on your EP! What was the overall concept of your project “Saints In The Summer”? The EP was inspired by a lot of the emotions we have during the summer. From On God to saying ima own the summer to Pulp Fiction which gives a driving vibe. I’d say it was a culmination of the feelings I felt during the summer. Ivory was the track that ignited the EP to be started. I was only supposed to do Ivory but then the EP came to fruition. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us! What’s next for you artistically? Does your creativity manifest itself in other ways? Definitely, like I produce beats, I do graphic art, I do some writing for other artists as well. So definitely the creativity in me manifests in more ways than just being LYRIQUE. I have another project and video that I will be dropping soon. So stay tuned. Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

  • New from Foxy Club Music, “This Ain’t About You” is Out Now!

Foxy Club Music is the epitome of real rock n' roll. The glamour, swagger, confidence and quirky lyricism pay homage to 1970’s glam rock in the most contemporary fashion. Inspired by T. Rex, David Bowie, and Roxy Music to name a few, Foxy Club Music brings its own brand of glam rock to the music scene. Brando Pablo is Foxy Club Music’s lead singer and songwriter who gets their listeners grooving along to their infectious hook-driven melodies and contagious charismatic delivery. Making their debut with a modern rendition of the 1971 classic “Hot Love”, they are back with their first original song “This Ain’t About You”. Foxy Club Music has written a retro yet classic tune for their latest single “This Ain’t About You”. Though it’s something of a grower, the track quickly manages to impress with its exploration of that central concept. The lyrics build up and up towards the resolve of the hook, always keeping things relevant as well as poetic and quite fascinating. You come to find yourself following this story-line along, connecting with the realness and emotion in Brando’s voice, and progressing with “This Ain’t About You” from the catchy verse tones to the brightness and absolution of the hook’s declaring sentiment. Where the classic sounds of a few decades ago absolutely come to mind, Foxy Club Music adds a refreshing and modern flair to everything that they do. “This Ain’t About You” is a brilliant song, superb lyrics, and a great structure and set-up. Listen to “This Ain’t About You” here! Welcome to BuzzMusic Foxy Club Music! We love your nostalgic sound! Can you introduce the members of the group and tell us about how Foxy Club Music came to fruition? Thank you kindly! It's a pleasure to be with you.  My name is Brando Pablo and I play guitar and swoon and croon among other things in Foxy Club Music.  I compose, write, and record all my own material, so there is nobody to blame but myself! (laughs)  It's a one-man band, but I do have a small team of gorgeous personalities with exquisite facial features whom I trust to provide indispensable help in the recording process, as well as a live performance. For the past year, I've been recording my music at a lovely boutique studio in Santa Monica called 4th Street Recording with my friend, in-house engineer and mixing and musical maestro, Sejo Navajas.  The studio has such a sexy and evocative classic rock décor: velvet curtains and sofas, shag rugs, mood lighting, vintage instruments, etc.  The atmosphere certainly nurtured my impulse to record my brand of nostalgic rock n' roll. I cook everything with a meticulous hand and feverish effort, but it is a calculatedly disheveled stew of shambles.  It's the sartorial concept of 'sprezzatura' applied to music: effort cloaked in the absence of effort.  Nothing is written or recorded by accident, but it is intended to sound as if the songs just stumbled and tumbled out of the back of the club with vodka on the lips in the blue midnight fog, but the feigned delirious misstep is truly just a perfectly rehearsed waltz upon a bed of roses.  Foxy Club Music was born out of my desire to write simple, deliberate, wistful, moody and glamorous rock n' roll.  Once I tapped into this inspiration, the songs sprung wild. Your rendition of “Hot Love” was really refreshing! What made you decide to release a cover song as your debut? How did you decide which song would work with your sound? Releasing a cover song as your debut is like flirting with your eyes, but with your sunglasses still on.  I wanted to maintain the mystery of Foxy Club Music, but also let you know that this is a thing and something is about to happen.  'Hot Love' showcases the style and romance of my music, but it doesn't give away too much or lift the mask too early.  It's just enough to get people to turn on their eyes and lift their ears and get a little curious.  It's a lily on the step before you walk in the door.  It's also a tribute to one of my favorite songwriters, and a primary inspiration behind Foxy Club Music: Mr. Marc Bolan of T. Rex.  I didn't think too much or too deeply about recording and releasing it.  I just love the song and had fun putting my own spin on it.  It felt right to play, but uniquely different from my original material to merit a stand-alone release.  I hope people enjoy it and discover T. Rex if they were not already aware. How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process? I enjoy playing live. There is an incomparable buzz and rush that comes from playing live with a group in front of an audience.  It's a powerful feeling when you can get people to tune into your groove and ride your airwave on such an instinctual level.  It's intense and exciting.  Yet, I would generally say I prefer the writing and the recording process, because there are so many different routes I can take to develop a song.  It's a magical feeling to allow an initial spark of inspiration to be captured into a lyric and melody.  Songwriting is freedom, madness, and joy.  I'm also dreadfully private and devilishly introspective, so the studio is much more comfortable for me on a personal level.  However, Foxy Club Music was deliberately created to feel like an old-school rock n' roll band.  The songs were stitched and woven as arena-ready anthems meant to be played live and loud and jump out of the speaker.  I prefer the studio, but Foxy Club prefers the stage.  There's quite a bit of dissent and struggle in this one-man band. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? My ultimate goal with Foxy Club Music is to turn you on.  I want to make you feel like you're making out on the moon.  I want to make you feel like you're struttin' through the stars.  These are my modest goals. We’re looking forward to experiencing some of your original music! What can you tell us about your upcoming debut EP? My upcoming debut EP release will be preceded by a few more single releases over the next few months.  The next of which will be accompanied by a music video about which I'm fantastically excited. It will shed a bit more light into the Foxy Club universe.  The full EP can be expected in January.  You can expect 5-6 original songs.  The music has a very 70's glam feel, but I'm also pulling from a wide range of influences to give the sound a fresh and diverse mood.  David Bowie, Prince, Roxy Music, Lenny Kravitz, Rick James, Smokey Robinson, Tom Jones, Julio Iglesias, Marvin Gaye, INXS, The Supremes and Van Halen are the current records spinning in my studio to name a few.  You can expect some funky and swoony rock n' roll. Every track present on the album had a different kind of uniqueness to it. What was the process of selecting which songs you would cover for this project? Well, three songs are from two movies soundtrack, the other songs we chose because of the messages, melodies, and lyrics. Since I am a singer for smooth relaxing songs, you can hear that on the album. It helps through everyday life. If someone could only listen to one track off of “Life’s A Journey” to get a sense of who you are as an artist, which track would you suggest and why? The song Naked is my favorite because when people sing or talk about their feelings it is kind of being naked because you talk about your emotions. What are some challenges you faced when creating this album? How did you overcome those challenges? No challenges for me, because I chose the music I feel good with. Instagram #BuzzMusic

  • Jill Blutt releases brand new Independent EP “Snakes & Ladders”

“Snakes & Ladders” is the brand new EP from Jill Blutt! A truly independent artist, Jill Blutt solely wrote, produced, and created artwork for this impressive project. The EP features five original track from Jill Blutt, who is currently based in Boston where she is finishing her degree at Berklee College of Music. The project deals with themes of mental illness, substance use/abuse, and sexuality, without teetering over the edge of being too serious. Beginning with the sultry and ambient vibes of “Dopamine”, Jill Blutt’s vocals come in from the offset as a beautiful and breathy guide through the journey of this track. There is a certain melancholic ballad and quiet expression feeling with the song “Dopamine”. That quiet sadness is temporary, soon enough the bass-line hits, the vocals intensify, and contrast is utilized brilliantly to create something that demands attention and again reaches out across the borders of pop. There’s a nostalgic, classic anthem feel to this one. “Sweet//Aromatic” is a definite highlight. A classic pop landscape meets with a heavy and uniquely affected beat that drives through to the forefront of the experience. Meanwhile, Jill’s delicate and emotional vocals create another clever contrast, as this quickly seductive, addictively memorable hook and heart-warming sentiment pour into the room. Following this, “Double Feature” leads with a softly calming progression that quiets the mood. Delicate vocals bring a melody that leads well into the song’s musical build-up and evolution. Jill Blutt creatively balances delicately soulful songwriting with contemporary sound design on this heartfelt and emotionally loaded new EP. Throughout “Nancy Drew”, Jill’s vocals lean far more in the direction of soul and add further identity and layout a smooth and equally absorbing melody and story-line. That level of intention and artistic relevance stands tall throughout “Snakes & Ladders” presenting a mature way with songwriting amidst an easily relatable and likable playlist of moments that seek to connect and calm the deeper thinkers out there. “Wasabi Peas” follows on with quiet grace, providing a spacious moment of reflective poetry that looks to the future with a subtle touch of optimism and melancholy combined. This one again grows to be something of an easily recognizable, alternative pop hit. The final song on the project, “Wasabi Peas” is atmospheric and hauntingly beautiful. Rather than succumbing to industry expectations or mainstream flavors just for the hell of it, “Snakes & Ladders” takes the time to craft something straight from the heart, straight from the depths of the human mind, and this reaches out via everything from the lyrics to the vocal tone to the music. A great way to go out, and another side to Jill Blutt well showcased. “Snakes & Ladders” in full is undoubtedly a project that speaks to today’s generation of music fans and lost artists, those searching for understanding or a place to feel calm and welcome. A gorgeous EP, I look forward to hearing more from Jill as time goes by. Listen to “Snakes & Ladders” here and read more with Jill Blutt below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Jill Blutt! Congratulations on your new EP! Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album “Snakes & Ladders”? At first, my intentions were super vague. I had just come back to making music after several years of dicking around and not doing much of anything. I wanted to stop overthinking artmaking and create something I could stand behind. I had a lot of whiplash from everything I had been going through in recent years and growth I had undergone and I wanted to put it into words. I wrote and produced probably around 10 - 15 songs but only ended up recording vocals on the five that made it onto the EP. How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? I've gone through so many phases with writing music. A lot of times I've made the mistake of trying to closely replicate sounds I've heard and enjoyed. In high school, I was sure I wanted to make folk-punk like Mischief Brew or Johnny Hobo & The Freight trains. Then when I got into production, I veered in a completely different direction and started making more downtempo inspired by the likes of Mark Farina and Boards of Canada and stuff. Now I'm not so much trying to go for a specific sound as I am just writing things that I think I'd like to listen to, either now or at some past point in my life. "Dopamine" is the perfect track to open up “Snakes & Ladders”. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? Dopamine is all about accepting the natural behavior of my lil human brain and acknowledging my unhealthy coping mechanisms. A lot of people think dopamine is the neurotransmitter responsible for happiness, but it's really involved in our pleasure system and learned behavior. It's the thing that tells us to continue with our bad habits even when they aren't doing us any good. Musically, I wanted the song to sound like false hope, maybe a little saccharine. "Double Feature" is flooded with absolute passion and emotion. What emotions were crucial to channel when creating this song? Double Feature is all about that feeling you get when you keep cracking on with someone who you kind of hate but who you can't help but come back to time and time again. Lyrically I think the content of this song is very similar to the song Use Me by Bill Withers. I've always had a bit of like, emotional masochism when it comes to romance. I guess if I were to try to identify that specific emotion I would call it ambivalence. But like, aggressive ambivalence. Thank you so much for sharing your new music with us! What else are you working on going forward? Do you have any upcoming shows to promote the new EP? Thanks for the chance to talk about myself--I'm a Leo so I could go on for days, to be honest. Right now I'm like, dropping hints that I'm available for bookings (I'm available for bookings) and also working on a video and some merch. Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Reggie Becton wears his heart on his sleeve in “Rainin In LA”

Reggie Becton is a Los Angeles based R&B artist making his name known. Hailing from PG County, Maryland, Reggie brings sultry vocals, honest songwriting, and many swiftly charismatic qualities to the table. His new single "Rainin in LA" pours through with a certain mellow delicacy that simultaneously provokes the listener to relax, to remove themselves from the rush of the world and let the music create a moment of peacefulness around them. • Don't Miss Out on Our Exclusive Interview With Meg Doherty!

Hey Meg Doherty! Your album "Wrong Medicine" is incredible! We're completely captivated by your sound--you have such a strong and warming presence throughout your tracks. Can you tell us more about your intentions when you first began to curate your recent album? Hey! Ah, thanks so much, I’m so pleased with the love for this album so far; I’m glad you guys like it! The first track I wrote for this album was ‘Ana’, which is quite a storytelling lyrically so from then I knew I wanted the album to have a theme. With what was going on in my life at the time, the theme became about a breakup and the songs came pouring out! I wanted to convey empowerment though, not just a weepy, heartbroken individual. I want people to listen, relate and think ‘although it seems bad now, I know I’ll come out the other side as a better version of myself! You've had such a strong love and passion for music at such a young age! How do you think you and your music have grown since you first started writing, versus now? Yeah, music has always been my true love! I tried to play my Dad’s guitar when I was six but it was far too big for me so I ended up taking a sitar approach to playing it. I’ve improved loads from then- I can actually hold my guitar properly now haha! It’s that same guitar (my Dad’s) I played on this album which I love. I think you listen to a wider variety of genres as you get older as well so that’s definitely helped me. I’ve mastered chords I never thought I’d be able to play through learning songs I love and it’s great to incorporate some of these into my own songwriting. "Robin" is the perfect track to open up your recent album. Where did you draw inspiration for this particular track? This might seem random but I literally spotted a robin in someone’s backyard whilst I was trying to come up with a concept for my next song and it felt like I was in the opening scene of ‘Gladiator’, watching it fly away! I’m a huge Russell Crowe fan, so I loved incorporating that feeling into a song. A robin is such a nice metaphor for love, don’t you think? Who has had the biggest influence on your life musically thus far? Can you describe the impact this particular individual has had in terms of your sound/progression as an artist? It’s hard to put that crown on just one person but I’d have to say my Dad I think. He used to be in a band and knowing that always inspired me as a kid. He taught me how to play guitar and his words of encouragement and advice always stick with me. Every time I’d play a demo when I was younger, I’d watch for his reaction before anyone else’s because I knew he’d tell me exactly what he thought and he’d tell me how to change each song to make it sound better. Even with this album, I played him the demo for ‘Robin’ to see if I was on the right track and he cried so I knew it was good! What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? I’d love to tour with my music, which will require getting a band together. Ultimately, I want to play live more and that’s something I’m really working on at home in Liverpool. I’ve played more gigs this year than I ever have before so I’m heading in the right direction. The buzz from a crowd clapping along to my songs is unmatched in anything else I do! An ultimate goal would be to perform alongside the Indoor Garden Party (Alan Doyle, Russell Crowe, Scott Grimes & co)... maybe one day! It was great having you here on BuzzMusic Meg! Tell us more about what's next for you? Any shows in the near future? Thank you, it’s been wonderful chatting to you guys again, always a pleasure! I’m playing in London again in December with a few friends so I’m really looking forward to that! It means practising Christmas songs before Halloween though which feels wrong! Last time we spoke I’d set a goal of playing Liverpool, London and Brighton by the end of the year so I’m booking myself in to play Brighton in December too. Aside from shows, I’ll be working on a video soon so watch this space... Can’t wait! Listen to Meg's latest single here, and catch up with Meg & her music through her socials below!
