  • #NewMusicFriday: SM Tone Releases His Unique Rap Track "Inner Thoughts"

All the way from Atlanta, GA, rap artist SM Tone is presenting elements to his music that we quite frankly don't hear enough from in the rap music scene! SM Tone has a huge resumé when it comes to the music industry. His debut album, releasing in 2017, incorporated a raw and authentic aspect of rap. It's obvious to us that SM Tone doesn't conform to the popular soundings. An artist, he remains true to his own creations and releases music that is incredibly charming. His most recent project, "Inner Thoughts" was a track that we resonated with completely, and respected the various components he was able to embed. The introductory jazz soundings to SM Tone's "Inner Thoughts" is unique and captivating. Immediately after, we're introduced to a more fast-paced vocal execution of SM Tone, which, once combined with the underlying beat, makes for a rap track that will most definitely stand out to listeners. SM Tone knows how to curate a track that blends contrasting elements, in a way that complements the overall sound. The tune of "Inner Thoughts" has a relaxing aspect to it, which stems mainly from the jazz elements embedded within. SM Tone showcases exactly how he's able to elevate his sound within "Inner Thoughts", as he takes bold steps within this track to make it into a sound we haven't yet heard from him artistically. We're appreciative of artists stepping out of their comfort zone with their sound, and in this case, SM Tone not only passed that barrier, but he also smashed it with the stellar programming. SM Tone is that type of rap artist that is only going to further lift his sound, and bring about change within the rap music scene. Can't wait to see what he'll be up to next! • Premiere: Kemdilo Gold Drops Ground-Breaking New Single “Cinderella”

Haitian-born, Toronto-based recording artist and songwriter Kemdilo Gold has released a new single titled “Cinderella”. Ever since being smuggled into America he has been working with his older brother 10Digits’ independent label Sound of Digits. Now based in Toronto, Kemdilo Gold ('Genius Outlook Locating Dimensions') is as motivated as he is talented, and looking to better himself with each day he is blessed with. Overall, he's worked vigorously to create a sound unique to his experiences and purpose. “Cinderella” is an eclectic new track from Kemdilo Gold and 10Digits. On top of what is a gorgeously colorful and partly organic soundscape, Kemdilo Gold offers up an uplifting melody line that’s surprisingly refreshing and addictive all at once. In addition to the likable groove of the music, the song’s concept offers a fine balance between personal truth and a generally accessible level connection. Kemdilo Gold seems genuinely lost in the moment throughout the recording, he carries the bar well and makes certain to hold your affection without screaming out for views or throwing in anything irrelevant just to add volume. Kemdilo Gold is an impressive artist with a natural connection to the genre and to performance on the whole. We can’t wait to hear more! Check out “Cinderella” here and read more with Kemdilo Gold below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Kemdilo Gold ! “Cinderella”  was catchy, it was relatable, and it was seriously hyped up. What kind of energy did you want to pour into your listeners with this particular track? I wanted to give them that raw, uncut filter of what a real ride or die female should be like. I really wanted to bring some empowerment towards both women and men because nowadays everyone wants to be a player, but also keep that club energy so you can bump it without feeling like it's a lesson. How long did the entire songwriting/recording process take for “Cinderella”? What're you more comfortable with, the writing process, or the recording process? This one took a little longer than most to make sure the message was well-said. Entirely, it took a few days to generate the perfect words that match the flow. Usually, it takes me one free-styling session, but we wanted a different approach. We had some catchy ideas we had to take out. It was really a masterpiece in itself. What kind of steps do you take to make sure you're being as honest as you can within your music, and ultimately to your listeners? The creative writing process can have my imagination taking on different characters, but I always make sure I’m as honest and relatable as possible. Most rappers or males want to be seen tough but all of them know some kind of Cinderella, so I think they will take this one to heart and feel like they can have that RnB love but on a trap beat. With your new single out now, do you have a longer project on the way!? We can’t wait to hear more. I always want my listeners to feel proud of supporting me. It’s like being an athlete but with music. So over the holidays, I’ll only be searching for the future because it's important to change with the game. I have many projects on the way - more singles and an album soon to follow. I'm happy to hear and see the appreciation! It was amazing being able to showcase “Cinderella” here to our BuzzMusic readers! Any parting words for the BuzzMusic community? In “LIFE”, you have to “GET BUSY” and cherish your “CINDERELLA” - only if it happens “AUTOMATIC”. P.S. • Premiere: Reid Zakos Is Not The “Villain” In His Latest Pop-Ballad

Reid Zakos is a powerful, independent artist born in Calgary, Canada. Born into a musical family Reid has a strong background in both musical theatre and dance, the arts are in his DNA. Heavily influenced by Gwen Stefani and Lady Gaga, Reid has a taste for the theatrical side of music and also holds a strong passion for fashion. If this is the first time you’re tuning into Reid Zakos’ music, you’re in for a treat. His style is a brilliant musical blend of pop-dance crossover hits with a dramatic ballad-like ambiance. We last featured his energizing dance single “Gladiator” on BuzzMusic and it blew us away. Reid Zakos is now back with an enchanting pop ballad titled “Villain”. Beginning with a gorgeously stripped aura of just piano and Reid’s stunning vocals, “Villain” doesn’t take long to evolve into a bone-chilling, heartfelt anthem. You can hear that Reid Zakos has poured his heart and soul into this release. Written by both Reid Zakos and Tess Anderson, the overall sentiments and powerful lyricism focus on the way we are perceived and sometimes misunderstood when, in fact, our intentions are good. Although the track is more somber than some of Reid’s previous releases, we’re still blessed with the upbeat bounce of a backing track to bring the energy. I’d love to hear “Villain” in an intimate live setting to truly showcase Redi Zakos’ charisma and sheer vocal power. Well worth a listen! Check out “Villain” here and read more with Reid Zakos below! Hey Reid Zakos! Do you believe that the way you intend to communicate your messages through your music is easily received by your listeners? Hello again! That's a tough one to answer...I hope so? I guess it depends on the song. Generally, I feel like most of my music has been pretty direct, understandable and relatable enough that listeners can read into certain lines what they want to and interpret for themselves without knowing all the specifics. I do have some more complicated lyrical songs like "Illogical Rhythm", but that one is intended to sound kind of busy and confused and moody. The new single "Villain" is pretty easy to understand - while there are some clever wordplay and alliterations in the verses, it's about perception and being painted as the villain (in relationships, in friendships, in society, or because you're just misunderstood) when deep down you know you're not the villain, and your intentions have always been pure. “Villain" was an incredibly versatile and beautiful track. Where did you draw the inspiration to create this particular type of sound? Thank you so much! With this song, we intended from the beginning to write a stripped-down ballad - almost like a Lady Gaga "Million Reasons" type of record, because that kind of song was missing from my arsenal at the time. I was making a lot of high energy dance music and while I had more sentimental songs, yes, but they still had a lot dance-pop or electronic production, and I'm usually so active with dance and choreography during my live shows that we wanted to do something opposite and more stripped and ballad-like. We didn't know what it would be about yet, but Tess Anderson (who co-wrote and produced the song) is a very talented writer who (in my opinion at least) has a cinematic quality about how her chords, melodies, and lyrics sound. Once we wrote it we added in some bells and whistles like bass, vocal synths, harmonies, and beats in the second verse but for the most part it's pretty stripped and the piano and vocal drives it. It's also a great contrast to my other song "Gladiator" that you guys reviewed back in the summer. How would you say that "Villain" compares to the kind of music you curated when you first started out as an artist? It's definitely the darkest and theatrical yet vulnerable song I've ever put out. It showcases my voice in a different way. I use my voice at full power, but I also get really soft and vulnerable during some parts. As a singer, I think it shows off way more range and versatility. A lot of my other music is quite dance-oriented, whereas this is full-on theatre. Growing up a Disney kid, I was always fascinated with the role of the villain because they were so over the top and flamboyant but they were also misunderstood and rebellious. So in some ways, this song feels like a return to my childhood with the theatrical nature of it. Do you prefer the more intimate recording process over live performance? How do you personally feel when you're performing your music live? I've always preferred to performing live. I've come to appreciate the process and luxury of recording more in recent years, but for me, in my life I've always needed to perform in front of an audience as a way to transform, heal, and express. It's just a different energy when you have an audience. And it's more visceral because you can't edit your mistakes! I think the better you are living the better you'll be in the studio too. It was awesome to be able to present "Villain" here on BuzzMusic! What do you think is next for you as an artist? Where do you hope to progress within the next couple of years? I'm so happy you guys like it! In 2020 I'm sure I'll release a full project rather than one-off singles. In the next few years I really want to start touring and do some more videos and songwriting trips, but the main goal is to just be doing music full time. Your latest single "R!DE" is incredibly electrifying and fast-paced! The energy that pours off from the song is incredible! How did the overall production of the track go?! Was it fairly easy to maintain this energy throughout the recording process? I tried to keep the whole writing and production process as effortless as possible. I just went with what felt right and never second-guessed anything. I've been working on my whole upcoming project for about 2 years, but this song was done in about a week. So what you're hearing is that care-free energy, just letting go and making something that moves. "R!DE" encompasses such vital elements. What was the main inspiration behind the track? Everything I've lived through. I'm never thinking about any specific thing when I'm working on these songs...but I know all my experiences, thoughts, beliefs, skills just flow out naturally when I work on something like this. Can you describe how the music scene in Los Angeles is aiding in your development as an artist? LA is the music capital of the world. Just being here changes everything. The Bay area will always feel like home to me but I can't deny that LA is where you have to be for music. It's just like riding the biggest wave. What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? • Catching Up With Vega HeartBreak & M.C On Their Latest Release 'Squad'

Welcome to BuzzMusic Vega HeartBreak and M.C! We're loving your unique sound and the energetic aura to your tracks. How long have you been collaborating? How did you get started working together? For over 15 years now, I met Vega when he was 14 years old, his older brother, Bradd Young is a super producer as well, he's worked with the likes of BONE Thugs & Harmony, Tyra B, Maino, Yo Gotti, and several established acts... so with me being young and trying to find my footing in the local scene of St. Louis, Bradd kinda passed me off to his little brother haha who I knew was talented but he was still very inexperienced at the time... but he was hungry and his development never stopped, he's an extremely talented artist. "SQUAD" is a great track! It's something different from mainstream hip-hop/R&B music today. How did the overall production for this track go? Did your original idea for the track come out the way you pictured it or did various elements change along the way? Thank you. So we're currently working on an E.P entitled "Good Energy". So with that being said most of the records we have agreed upon have had that same positive feeling musically. The beat was submitted by BangEmOutBeatz a production company located in St. Louis, MO... he sent us 5 beats I believe and we gravitated towards 2 immediately... The squad was one of em. Vega lives in Los Angeles,  he called me somewhat excited and said I got something to give me a second to lay it down. So honestly I didn't have to do much with this one, I listened and was like "Yeah! that's it" he laid down the hook and we both got to writing our verses. He told me to add something to the hook but it was perfect. The song came out well, it felt like we had something different, Vega Harmonizes with his flow, we always joke around and say he is 70% singer and 30% rapper haha whereas me, M.C is 70% rapper 30% singer, so even though our styles are totally different there's still balance. Squad didn't go thru many vocal changes, we asked the producer (BangEmOutBeatz) to change out the bassline, that was about it. He knocked that and we were good! We also checked out your other collaborative song, "Swoop It Up"! Where do you search for and/or end up finding your inspiration for such refreshing tracks? Just through life experiences, we're big on keeping things organic. Being an artist is nothing special, being yourself is. We're also big on vibes, records that we release have to have a feeling, an energy that they can be presented on a grander scale versus just trying to appease the local scene. We loved the video for your latest single "SQUAD", it really showcases your character, chemistry, and performance quality! How did the recording process for the video go? It was a collaborative effort, honestly, no one said no haha. Lets shoot in front of the graffiti Walls... ok... Lets park the cars in front...ok let's use smoke bombs... ok ... Lets film our "Squad" meeting us at the airport... ok... Haha... It was really simple and straight to the point. The performances weren't practiced we just went with the flow. It was a treat being able to feature “SQUAD” on BuzzMusic! We can’t wait to see what else you're both working on! What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world, now that you’ve just released a new song and video? Growth, the greatest gift, and compliment an artist can receive are to be given the opportunity to be heard. The goal is to expand our audience as much as possible. We thank you for that opportunity. instagram.com/vega.heartbreak instagram.com/rcbmc #BuzzMusic

  • Rx27 Makes Incredible Debut With The Impactful Single “Gasoline”

Goth art-punk band, Rx27 released their debut single “Gasoline” and the song is as much of a mystery as the band itself. “Gasoline” pours through with a grunge-led intensity and clear purpose, lines like "I don't think much/ About the limits/ I don't want much/ of what they’re giving” stand out and hit with impact thanks to a notably anthem-like melodic development. This release actually introduces an impressive alternative punk rock band with a strong sense of melody and passion about their sound. “Gasoline” is surprisingly engaging right the way through, whatever opinions you may form in the beginning, you’re likely to see those changes as the track continues. “Gasoline” has a great hook, it’s a big moment that would likely hit hard at a live show. Things get incredibly dark, really reinforcing the essence of the song far more than staying focused on the comedy aspect. There’s a reason the band has made this single “Gasoline”, there are genuine concerns and issues at its core. “Gasoline” provokes necessary thought, and it keeps the conversation going in an effective way. Rx27 is an intriguing band, it will be interesting to hear where else their music takes them! Check out “Gasoline” here and read more with Rx27 below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Rx27! Your debut release “Gasoline” is definitively lively, with such an eclectic, yet modern take on production. How did you intend to connect with your listeners with this particular track?! Don’t just hear it...... see it.... do you feel it? TC- We intend to offer this track as widely and as freely as possible so that people can hear their own stories and feel their own urgency as told here. MM- I think the intention from Rx27 is to let those who listen, find those dark or maybe not so gloomy times in their lives where they can identify. Feel the times when life was speeding too fast and you lost the driver’s seat and wheel. You can’t hold on and you can’t let go. Is this toxic love you relate to? Yourself? Your world? You tell us. We’re just here to hold the mirror in front of your face and keep the hole in the ground warm for you. JB- People listen to music to feel. Or maybe not to. Music is like a drug it makes everything better. The Beatles lied and said all you need is love.  There are so many types of love. Pain is loud and universal and a common thread in life. It maybe is hard to understand love or know what love is.  Heartbreak, death, and loss of hope brings unwanted feelings.  Most songs that hit people the hardest are the honest ones that talk about the trials and tribulations of a person. When we wrote the song it brought up a feeling of risk and danger. The kinda danger you might not like the consequences of. But you still do it anyway. Life is a gamble in this day and age. There may be no tomorrow for me or anyone reading this. So I know in my heart of hearts I lived today like it was my last. Because in all reality I will never live this day again. It’s a memory. It’s in the past. No regrets no wish I could have done it differently. Just like the lyrics. Loving the magic at the moment no matter how tender or perverse it could be. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics within your new release? MM- When Joie introduced these lyrics to me I was pulled in right away to the imagery of my version of sin city, darkness, corruption, chaos, egotistical heaven and hell within my soul and what I’ve experienced... Maybe you have too or know someone who has. The later verses leading up to the bridge for me especially signify the addictions and desire to be like a Bonnie and Clyde, Thelma and Louise; all together in a speeding reckless car having the perfect night out. The lyrics written by both Joie and Thad remind of times I’ve wanted to keep fires burning, all the highs going for as long as my heart can take— knowing I’m denying my creation of a monster in myself, maybe with those I’m in it with. Turning this repetitive, sick cycle of hell, fury, passion, crashing, burning fast...to a joyous occasion I still crave and only know how to have. JB- Living in the light playing in the dark. Doing things you know damn well could be disastrous. Be it with someone you know or someone you wish you never met. The thrill of cheating death. I am fascinated by death. Love is a huge risk. This song has a sister song called fuck forever. They tell a story of darkness and light crashing into each other and making beauty. Kinda like I can’t believe we did that. Can we do it again?? TC- Without dictating the meaning of "Gasoline" I would say that the indication is volatility...instability... unpredictability. The power of a substance to all at once be the prime mover and the source of total destruction. And nothing is more dangerously explosive than gasoline vapor. Perfectly blended ignite. Love/lust= gasoline/vapor What would you say is the most useful piece of criticism you’ve received thus far within your career? TC- To create what you love not what will be loved. MM- Prior to Rx27 asking me to join in, I was told from various people how breathy, light, and not so strong my voice was. A dear friend and drummer from the band, Death on the Radio, gifted me singing lessons for the very first time with Electra Barakos at her music school in the valley. She taught me how to find and use my core, feel and use my diaphragm, and let's not forget— the breath to help sustain, deliver with power and tools to go way beyond what I thought was capable of. I never knew I was breathing wrong nor did I know much about this thing called the diaphragm that I could literally touch. This all led to discovering “The Singing Belt”. I used this ALL the time when I joined my second band. It was super embarrassing to use in front of bandmates at rehearsals but it was, and STILL is a big help! JB- I was told to be teachable. Don’t be the smartest person in the room. If you are, you are in the wrong room. The biggest advice I got was from Devine inspiration. Chase the muse and let the song tell you when it’s finished.  Songwriting is extremely spiritually for me. We did about 25 rewrites on the lyrics. They didn’t feel right. I always go with feelings. Happy accidents or mistakes were the best gifts when writing and demoing this song. I forgot to put on the high hat and I got this drumbeat and went with it. We had other drummers that didn’t or couldn't play it. Or they didn’t get it. Melanie our drummer now got it nailed it first take. We could have made this a traditional punk song but that’s not what the song dictated us. So pretty much Go with the gut and play from your heart. Do you typically take criticism to your advantage? MM-I either grow, learn from it, look at it, or dismiss it but not let it or anyone has power over me. The advantage I guess is really having an open and curious, not jaded mind and mentality. Maybe 10 years from now, I’ll have a different response but the goal is not to. JB- Criticism is great. Love us hate us don’t ignore us. When you believe in yourself and what you do, what people think or say doesn’t really matter. In this social media, age opinions are treated as facts. The fact is the only opinions that matter to me is what the band thinks. We have chemistry with each other and trust each other. Yes, we are sensitive artists but when you trust the people you create with you want to hear the truth. Even if it hurts. Pride and ego are a bitch to be a slave to. As an artist, we are always becoming. Chasing the muse and battling the blank page. Honest songwriting is what we are doing here. It’s Rx27. People ask us to label it. So we say goth punk alt-rock. It’s what we hear in our heads. We are not writing in mind for a movie or a commercial or for what trend is going on. Trends are dead ends. Rx27 are writing Rx27 songs. My favorite songwriter is Thad He has such a gift for it. I get to write with him and sing great honest songs. In this band, we are all individual artists that have the same thing in common. We have a vision and a sound and a purpose. We want to bring out the best in each other and push each other as far as we can go as performers and artists. We are pretty brutal on what makes it and what doesn’t. Can you describe where you drew your inspiration from in order to curate "Gasoline"? MM- initially met Joie to go over this song at his studio. I jumped to a different place, deep down to my core where I don’t go often. A place where I’ve completely become obsessed, fallen so hard down the rabbit hole for someone or multiple people at once... nothing short of intrigue, what I perceive to  could be love, definitely lust, sex, infatuation, wanting all of it for whatever it’ll take and for as long as the pain will last. I felt a pain, rage, poison, and passion to fuel my singing along with Joie on this crazy frenzy of a ride. JB- I always heard this as a duet. The lyrics were inspired by a girl I follow on Instagram. I know it sounds creepy but the girl is intense in her photos. I never spoke with her or even met her. I did tell her she inspired a song and she felt weird and honored. I needed a face of the girl. I know the other faces of darkness, but I never found the one that wanted to go all in. Maybe for a night or for a couple of hours. Lord knows I have gone all-in knowing it was gonna kill me if it goes bad but never found another to reciprocate. The more darkness you bring the more you crave the light and vice versa. To live on the edge and not get cut but it. Unless you like that sort of thing. TC-Desperation. The void that one feels in attempting to understand life and create meaningful ways to comprehend the mysteries. What’s the next goal for you artistically within the music world, now that you’ve just released a new single? MM- Finish and release of our first EP album with Paul Roessler, perform live shows with artists and bands we’ve been so inspired and moved by, tour and meet more friends and fans across all the states, and of course, travel across the world and play our hearts and blood out. TC- We will be releasing more material and performing throughout the world as much as we can but I feel like the immediate goal is to continue to put our collective magnifying glass over the collective topics that elude us and to give birth to more music that speaks for those things. JB- After recording, Maxine said something that was great. She says ok What’s next? The best question in the world. We will tour see the world. Make videos and do more cool interviews like this.  Chase the muse and the song. Live forever in one day and leave it all on the stage. Make a bunch of memories and inspire people to go all-in on themselves. Show them they can do whatever they want.  No limits No Laws. Faith in chasing and getting your dream to happen. Just like we are doing. In life, there are no happy endings. We are gonna do our very best to make sure there is one for everyone. Comprised of Chris Scott on vocals, David Cohen on guitar, Luke Lewis on bass, and Daniel Luczak on drums, All In Moment decided to dive “all-in” and begin creating original music. All In Moment challenges the norm while mainstream music promotes partying, sex, drugs, and the materialistic things in life. All In Moment’s debut, self-titled album is 8 original tracks of musical expertise and a clear influence from each member's diverse interests. The band prides itself on the fact that they draw influences from vastly different spectrums of music. The album begins with "Before the Bombs Drop", this song is a Rage Against the Machine inspired track that sheds light on the unruly political landscape the country is currently in. One of the most instrumentally energizing and satisfying tracks on this album, “Before the Bombs” hits with impact and intention. A thick wall of distorted power-chords and fast drums accompanies a clear-cut vocal that again drives with every graphic detail and a compelling manner. Throughout the next track “Haunt Me”, superb guitar work meets with incredibly appealing vocals that cut through the weight of the soundscape with relevant ease. Then you follow the journey along and before you know it, the entire album is playing on repeat for days at a time. All-In Moment proves time and time again on this project that they are insanely good at what they do. Hard rock has been hinting at making it’s return to the mainstream in recent years, but this release marks its official move from a hint to an absolute promise. “Unstoppable” delivers both refreshing creativity and superb musicianship, all of this adds a genuine level of value and emotion to the music, but what lets it connect as effectively as it does is the fact that “Unstoppable” has been brilliantly, professionally written and crafted, and the music and vocals throughout it work well to immerse and entrance even the most stubborn of audiences. "Unstoppable" is by far the hardest track as it features robust screams and riffs to complement the song's theme of feeling so powerful that nothing can stop you. A powerful track, an utterly refreshing sound, and without a doubt the start of a long and worthy journey in modern music. “From Choas Comes Clarity” is a stunner, brilliantly showcasing a powerful rise up from delicacy to weight, reinforcing the band’s ability to utilize contrast and express the meandering emotions related to an experience in a deeply artistic and genuine way. The band's second original song, "From Chaos Comes Clarity" reflects on the idea that sometimes you have to lose it all to find yourself. This is also All-In Moment’s first single with a music video to match. "For You" is the softest song crafted by All In Moment, and is simply about a girl, but it has a beautiful sound that could appeal to a larger crowd of music lovers. During the verses, a relevantly quiet yet organic soundscape accompanies the lead singer’s vocals. A layer of strings again lights up a new angle in contemporary rock, and this continues to stand tall as the track gathers momentum. Towards the end, we see the strings combine with everything else as the song’s concept reaches its passionate peak. This is categorically a song to be experienced at volume. “Refuse the Call” feels like the kind of addictive, the alternative anthem that deep thinkers would have obsessed over not too long ago. Hopefully, this is the dawn of a new chapter for hard rock/metal – for organic, authentic music; the sort that comes from a place of real depth and intention. “Refuse the Call” pays a small tribute to HBO's Game of Thrones, and is about betrayal by someone so close you once considered them family. All In Moment are a superb band, impressing more and more so with each new move they make. Rich with sludgy guitars and pounding drums, the music of “Oblivion” sounds fantastic. It ebbs and flows, and easily has one of the best breakdowns of 2019. “Oblivion” brings through a classic hard rock and metal vibe, chaos, and story-telling intertwine in a memorable fashion – it feels like a fresh approach to the genre and another chance to connect with the band behind the music. “Not That Far Away” brings the album to a conclusion but ironically was All-in Moments debut single. The meaning of "Not That Far Away" centers around the idea that the future is coming much more quickly than anticipated, and for four young men, it's time to "dig deeper" to get by the challenges in life. This track brings the debut album to a finish that’s likely to leave the story and ideas lingering in your mind long after listening. The realness that emerges with each conversation and recording on the project seems insanely authentic. Absolutely worth listening! We can’t wait to catch a live show in the future too!
