  • The Nobodies Bring A Soiree Of Influences To Indie Rock

Releasing their Sweet Dreams album has been a long time in the making for The Nobodies, and it shows in all the right ways. Cultivating the music influences of its band members, The Nobodies have dropped a massive indie pop-rock EP and don't hold back on the psychedelia either. No two songs are the same on this album and still, it plays out seamlessly. Throughout the catalog of indie-folk, rock, and pop Sweet Dreams has to offer, it's the attention to detail and personal care taken in the creation of this album that comes through the most. Leaving no stone unturned, the record runs the gambit of guitar hooks and horn sections bringing a lot of various instruments to the mix. Even with that, it's a very vocally forward record. A unique and almost classic rock style of vocals just oozing with passion and realism, singer Alex Waugh comes through warm and moving on literally every song. • Adara Releases Ground-Breaking Visuals For “Alien”

The electronic, space-inspired pop of Adara will teleport you to a neighboring galaxy for a dance party on a spaceship. Her relatable, catchy anthems bounce from star to star in style with sparkling synths and the vast sounds of Adara's voice. With big choruses being Adara’s trademark, the Nashville-based artist draws influence from artists like Lady Gaga, Sia, Ellie Goulding, and Coldplay. In a world of over-sexualized leading ladies and a drug-infected pop culture, Adara is a role model for youth, preaching individuality and self-love. A mysterious pop anthem, “Alien’s” music video is inspired by a social media campaign started by Adara called #keepgoing. The artist (and self-proclaimed space nerd) asked her fans to share memories with her of moments they have felt alienated. The response was overwhelming and hundreds of stories of bullying, abuse, and even rape poured in. “I’ve always wanted to stand up for the underdog,” says Adara. “People go through incredibly hard things, and now I know many are my fans whom I love dearly. I want to support them and for them to know they are not alone.” The brand new music video for “Alien” is overwhelmingly compassionate and beautiful. Adara dedicates it to everyone who has ever felt alienated or lonely or victimized. She wears a white spacesuit covered in the words of people who reached out to her to tell their story. Viewing the video in full gave me chills from head to toe. I highly recommend a second or third watch to truly grasp every piece of artistry at work here. “Alien” remains catchy, upbeat, and inspiring while Adara pours her heart and soul into every word. Throughout the video, many different people from all walks of life are seen collecting glowing cubes from another world. When they eventually come together near the end, we see that collectively they’ve spelled out the words “You’re Not Alone”, a poetically brilliant way to end a truly amazing music video. Well done Adara! Check out “Alien” here and don’t miss the spectacular music video below! Keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with Adara! Welcome to BuzzMusic Adara, it’s a pleasure to premiere your amazing new music video for “Alien”! It’s an honor to be included on BuzzMusic! What do you hope your listeners and fans take away from this project and video? It’s the thing I hope they take away from all of my music. Hope, strength, and self-love.” Alien” is an anthem for the people who feel like they don’t belong. Being different is beautiful, and it’s about celebrating what makes us different.  I really want this to come across in the video, especially with the visual of the suit that I’m wearing, which is made up of hundreds of stories of bullying, abuse and pain shared with me by my followers. I wear their pain with them and turn it into something strong and powerful in this music video. What inspires you to be so passionate about the #keepgoing movement? Those two words, keep going, we're there for me when I needed them the most. I was going through a tough time emotionally and felt so defeated about my music and dreams. Simply put, I felt like I wasn’t good enough. I never posted about this online but somehow my followers started sending me comments and messages that all said the same two words that I needed to hear the most: “keep going.” Literally over and over again. Those two words helped me do exactly that, KEEP GOING.  And I want to give that same strength back to everyone who needs to hear that right now.  I want people to fight instead of giving up on themselves. I have to pass this on. What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? I personally feel like mainstream music, and pop culture, in general, has become drug-infused and overly sexualized. While there are still some wonderful songs being written, I do feel like the majority of singles are released for a quick and easy sale with a blatant disregard on how those messages affect society, especially the youth. I certainly don’t want to speak negatively of any artists’ creations, but music has the power to change the world, and too often it’s being diminished to the lowest common denominator.  While there is certainly a place for fun, let-your-hair-down, party music, there also still needs to be an importance placed on music with a deeper emotional message.  My theater teacher said something which has always stuck with me, “Science explains how we live, but art explains what we live for.” We turn to art to decode the complexities of the human experience.  People are hurting and music can be there to save them. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? Ideally, making the world a better place via music would be my answer. I want my music to reach people on a large scale. while I dream of headlining stadium shows, it’s equally important to combine technology, AR, and VR aspects into my live shows. Performing in SPACE would definitely be one of my main aspirations (NASA, call me!)… but at the end of the day, being a positive influence to others is better than any amount of money or achieving “superstardom.” What’s next for Adara? I’m releasing my music video for “Alien” today! (Oct. 2) I also have some shows coming up that I’m really looking forward to and new music in the works. I could sit here and list off all the exciting things coming down the pipeline, or all the irons I've got in the fire, but to me, music is really about getting someone through a bad day and inspiring them to keep going. Through making the “Alien” music video, I've learned that what I do can be an outlet for other people as well. Instagram YouTube Facebook Twitter

  • RTC Profit Is Stacking “Paper” With His Debut Single

Making his name known out of Calgary, Canada, RTC Profit is an up and coming emcee who is working towards becoming a living legend. Calgary is not a town that’s necessarily known for its underground hip-hop scene, but Profit aims to be remembered as one of the greatest to touch a mic. Pulling inspirations from artists such as Ray Charles, Tupac, and Erykah Badu, Profit is influenced by legends and aims to become one himself. The word addictive works well to describe Profit’s latest song. “Paper” teeters on the edge of R&B, hip-hop, and trap. The experience leaves a definitive mark on listeners that find a way to relate to the vulnerability and realness in the lyrics. You head back to trace these bars along with a little more detail, to try to bridge that gap between the calm, spoken word and the soulful, anthem-like hook melody. Conceptually there are different ideas at work, but for the most part, you get an energetic aura of drive and motivation. For those looking for something different right now, to inspire and enthuse them, “Paper” could be the one. RTC Profit has something special to offer, he creates thoughtful and genuine tracks that leave the listener craving more! Listen to “Paper” here and read more with Profit in our interview below! Hey RTC Profit! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? Since I was young I've always had a love for hip-hop and throughout high school me and the homies would always be freestyling. I started to write on the regular and my dude Kash Colie, who had been making music for years, let me record at his studio. I make music to motivate people and make them think. Being a rapper/hip-hop artist doesn't mean someone has to be boxed in and speak on the same things from the same perspectives as everyone else so I try to address certain topics from a unique perspective. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his bars than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Paper”? On the track, I was speaking on the things people have to deal with in the pursuit of money. Showing the contrast between what can be done with it and the ugly side of what, at times, must be done to acquire it. Like I say in the first verse, "They say its all that make the world turn, or the root of the reason the world burn". Tell us how you felt during the production of "Paper"! Did the execution of the track run as smoothly as expected? Recording is usually the easiest part of the process. Getting the mix right is what takes time. I have so much music written but not recorded so I get impatient. I'm tryna learn audio engineering so I can be more self sufficient. Would you say that your music is a big reflection of who you are as an artist? Do you stay true to yourself 100% within the music scene? Mos Definitely. I've never misrepresented myself in my music, I can only speak from my perspectives and experience. People can tell what's legitimate and what isn't. Thank you for sharing your new music with us! What can we look forward to seeing next from you as an artist? I'm almost done with a new project titled Smoke N Mirrors, I'm looking to release it within the next couple months. Albums can take a while to complete so after I drop it, I'll just be releasing singles accompanied by more visuals for a while. Also, me and a collective of artists from Calgary are aiming to be on tour by spring 2020. There's somewhat of a glass ceiling in my city since it's not known for hip-hop so we're trying to touch other locations. • Euphorically Dystopic: Inside The Mind Of ZAKERY

ZAKERY is an electrifying up and coming artist from Texas. His love of video game soundtracks and cinema leads to a unique and captivating sound that’s sure to leave you breathless. With an upcoming album on the horizon, ZAKERY is ready to make a splash on the scene. "Too Many Knives" is more akin to an adventure and reminiscent of completing a journey of self-reflection than a song. A mellow, somber opening, with just enough flavor and spice to keep you wanting more, "Too Many Knives" delivers more and more as the song flows onward. The synths breathe life into the world, created and sustained by the words sung and the beats played out in perfect rhythm. Your state of mind will change, while you try to comprehend the otherworldly soundscapes created with each keystroke. The choruses resonate and the bridges are clear and smooth, flowing seamlessly between each of them. "Too Many Knives" infectious tempo and moody vibes will keep you hooked to the last beat. Fans of game soundtracks will find this song captivating and familiar, while fans of sci-fi/horror movies from the 80s will be reminded of the past. An absolute blast to listen too, ZAKERY has the knowledge and capability to bring his words and production to life and express it visually and sonically. Every repeat listen will reveal new moments and bring forth a feeling of being a child again, and growing up with games such as Final Fantasy and Deus Ex. I can’t wait to see what new musical escapes ZAKERY creates in the future. Listen to ZAKERY's new single "Too Many Knives" here and check out our exclusive interview below! With your self professed love for video game soundtracks, were there and specific games that influenced the sound of this song? I grew up playing a lot of video games when I was younger and that definitely plays a part in my music, sonically-speaking. Games tend to influence me on multiple mediums whether it is music, art, or even just thinking creatively. I’ve said this before but, I’m in love with the Final Fantasy VII soundtrack and I do hear a little bit of that in this song. I was playing a lot of Portal at the time of writing this song and I think there’s a little bit of that in there too. Is there any special meaning behind the song title and lyrics? Okay, so there’s actually a couple of meanings. There’s the narrative meaning the song has that will fit in with a larger narrative later on. I won’t get into that just yet. Personally though, this song feels like it’s my own way of trying to understand self-accountability and learning to take care of myself. I talked to Brian Hazard of Color Theory, who features on the song, and he said that he feels like it is more of an acceptance song. Just accepting who you are. I agree with that and it’s interesting to see the perspectives. Can you describe the impact that 80s sci-fi cinema soundtracks has had on your music? I’m a big fan of the original Blade Runner and Appleseed movies. I know Appleseed isn’t an ‘80s movie but, it gives me that same dystopian vibe. Baby Driver and Drive are also fantastic movies to watch if you are looking for that whole overblown theatrical and choreographic style. Really, I’m just very interested in any movie that is willing to take itself way over-the-top in a fun and creative way. All of these movies have soundtracks that I listen to regularly. This song features Color Theory, how did you make this collaboration happen? That’s actually quite the funny story. I listened to his music pretty frequently for about a year before ever even talking to him. It had to be some time in June or July of 2018 that I just jokingly posted something like, “Do I need to cut my arm off to write a song with Color Theory? Because I will!” I didn’t expect a response be he seemed to like the post and we started talking from there. Considering I was just a fan of his beforehand, I’m still pretty happy to have worked on anything with him. The song came out that August and the rest is history. On a side note, it’s way too underrated and I personally think “Monastery” by Color Theory may be one of the best songs ever written. Any plans for the future? Live performances, album releases, new singles? I have a lot of loose plans for the future. Singles, secondary ventures, and things not to be said yet. I have been working on a conceptual album for four years now. Music and art are the only things I feel dedicated enough to work on for so long. It may be a good wait but, I won’t settle until I’m satisfied with my work. Without saying too much, the full album will feature “Too Many Knives” and a lot more that I hope will be worth the wait. I’ll be excited to see what people think about it. One thing will be sure, I’ll be happy with it. Connect with ZAKERY: www.instagram.com/zak.blankenship www.twitter.com/ZakBlankenship #BuzzMusic

  • Troy Zanger May Be Only “21”, But His Sound Completely Captivates

Troy Zanger is an up and coming, 21-year-old, artist from Forestburgh, New York. Before pursuing a solo career, Troy was part of a duo with his brother Hans called “The Last Romantics”. After being signed to Bentley Records in 2018, Troy began to write in a diverse variety of genres and ultimately decided to go solo. His debut EP “Reminiscence Is A Discipline” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms. This project features 5 versatile tracks, showcasing Troy as a finely-calibrated new talent. We checked out the EP “Reminiscence Is A Discipline” in entirety and an absolute standout and highlight to us is “21”. The track is an introspective song that seems extremely close to Troy’s heart. It explores Troy’s emotions and growth as a person and artist. The overall sentiments and organic nature of the song balance perfectly with one another. Listeners will find comfort in the accessible and well-relateable themes of engaging content. Troy pours his heart and soul into every corner of this song. He fuses fine musicianship with inspiring lyrics, all while delivering a spectacular vocal line. “21” is a deeply personal and vulnerable track, something we look forward to seeing more of from Troy Zanger! Check out “21” here and read more with Troy below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Troy! It’s such a pleasure to feature your new song “21”. For our readers who are unfamiliar with your work, how would you describe your sound and approach to songwriting? My sound truly encompasses many genres. I love writing about all kinds of music. As an artist, I really don't think you have to circumscribe yourself to a single writing style. I am all about originality. If you are not true to yourself, then you are most likely trying to write towards a person or a group of people. Of course, I want everybody to listen to my music, but it is more important to have my fans hear the honesty and humility in my songs. We’re swooning over the beauty of “21”, it’s very personal. What emotions were you feeling in order to create this song? How you have persevered through those emotions and challenges? Thank you for appreciating the beauty of this track. "21" is a song of reconciliation. I am pointing out a situation in my life that is rather disappointing, and I'm accepting that it is never going to change, nor do I want it to at this point. This song is about a couple of people in my life who have chosen to never love me because of the pain they carry. In a way, whether I see it or not, it has affected me. "You see I've reconciled. I'm a wild child. 21." I'm old enough now to know that some things just never change, and there is no point in dwelling on falsehood and insecurity. On that note, I didn't want to end the track in its main acoustic theme. I wanted a wide-open, theatrical sort of outro. The beat drops, the strings pick up, a small guitar solo. I am in love with this tune. At only 21 years old you’ve really established your sound and vibe as an artist. How do you feed your passion for music every day? What continues to inspire you? I have been around music my whole life. My fascination with bands of many eras has bent me every way possible. My vibe as an artist has not reached its full potential. There is something inside of me that is begging to be alive. Imagination is a beautiful thing. I often pretend I'm performing at some crazy concert when I listen to some songs from a bunch of bands. The idea that I could do something like that keeps me hard-working on a regular basis. Reminding myself that to have confidence in my music is very important. I used to think that people weren't listening to my music because I just simply suck. The more you take a look around, you start to realize that originality is lost in modernity. I am not lost, I do not suck. Perhaps, I am just not a typical consumer. Perhaps, people just want to hear a hard beat. I try to self inspire as much as I can. What are some of your ultimate goals as an artist? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? I used to think being signed by a record label was the goal. When I signed to Bentley Records, I was like "f**k yeah." Nothing has changed though. They sign a bunch of people like me to grab money. That's where they lost me. Because no one is like me. That artist distribution deal was just a clever way to make thousands of artists with a touch of potential feel relevant. It's smart, but I am better than that, and I know that. It's funny too because I used to basically just get off on record label shit. I think I got rejected by Dirty Hit in 2017 when I was writing music with my brother. That's the only time I had butterflies receiving a rejection email! Still turns me on sometimes. I released my EP through my made-up label name "ZangerBanger Records." All I focus on now is getting my music out there and playing shows when I can. I got so tired of the whole "please accept me and my music" stuff. I am definitely more confident now than I ever was. It was great having you here on BuzzMusic! Tell us more about what's next for you after this song release? Any shows in the near future?! Thanks for having me! I have a really groovy track in the works that I am hoping to have released by November. Also, I have been working on Spoken By A True Poet -EP ever since I began working on Reminiscence Is a Discipline. Many of the songs I had written were being swapped back and forth between the two before I finally settled on the tracks for Rem Is A Dis EP. Right now I am in school finishing my neuroscience degree, so I can fit a show or two back home on my breaks...that's what 'll try and do! Jamall Anthony! We're incredibly excited to feature "Summer 17" on BuzzMusic! It's a genuine and honest track that we feel the utmost love for. Where did you draw the inspiration from to curate such a song? "Summer 17" was actually based on my real life story. Which is why it feels so genuine and honest because it 100% is. I was sitting at my piano one day and I came up with the chords and then just started flowing over them and I immediately knew it was a vibe. The inspiration came from a couple of girls I spent a few summers with and I just reflected on that and it inspired the whole song. We can imagine you've been told time and time again how incredible your vocal range is, but we feel guilty not telling you that! The sound of your voice is absolutely harmonic in "Summer 17". Did your vocal flow come naturally, or was it crafted over time? Thank you for that !! I've been doing this for a while and I can assure you we never get tired of those types of compliments. The flow came extremely natural on this one and I low-key surprised myself with just how naturally it came out. I just found a pocket in the song and rode the wave the entire time which is why its such a vibe. Can you tell us the predominant message behind "Summer 17"? How did you feel writing/recording the track, and how did you intend your listeners to feel? The message/story behind "Summer 17" was really just a story of transitioning from boyhood to manhood. Sometimes in our younger years we kind of think we know everything but with age comes wisdom so yeah ...that's a great message actually. Writing this song was so refreshing. I had the pleasure of switching completely into artist mode so of course I get to write whatever my little heart desired and "Summer 17" was born. I just want my listeners to go on a journey with me through this song. How does Los Angeles feed your musical passion on the daily? Do you find that the music culture in Los Angeles inspires you and your music? LA has truly been the best thing to ever happen to me creatively. I literally write and record every day and luckily I get to do it with some of the dopest creatives I've ever met. The culture out here has absolutely played a huge part in this entire project and I really moved here and fell deeper in love with music. I've only been living in LA full time for a little over a year but this has been one of the best years of my entire life. We're highly anticipating the release of "Sinful Monk"! What's the timeline looking like for the release of the EP? Sinful Monk is all ready to go!! I'm gonna release one more single "Giving up slowly" on 11/8 and then the project will drop shortly after. I have a bunch of cool things that will transpire over the next week weeks but I highly encourage everyone to follow me all social media platforms because trust me... you don't wanna miss this. • Electro-Pop Meets Emotional Realness In Anastasia Rizing’s Latest Track “Without You”

Anastasia Rizing has been a singer/songwriter and musician since she was young. It all began in her father’s studio but Anastasia naturally progressed onto the stage in music theatre and as a singer/songwriter. Going back to her roots, Anastasia Rizing finds her back in the studio writing, arranging, recording, producing, and mixing all of her unique music. Anastasia’s sound is a perfect melting pot of electro-pop, hip hop, 80's new wave, synth-wave, and a slight undertone of jazz. Some of Anastasia’s inspirations are LIGHTS, Imogen Heap, Owl City, AURORA, Chvrches, Pvris, The Smiths, The Cure, Depeche Mode, Sarah McLachlan, Kate Bush, Enya, and Tori Amos, which all assist in creating her authentic sound. With an impressive repertoire under her belt, Anastasia Rizing shows no signs of slowing down. "Without You" is her latest release, a song declaring a very simple truth, that hope can only be found in God. Anastasia wrote this song while she struggled in her marriage watching her husband suffer a debilitating chronic illness. She was brought her to her knees by the experience but turned it into an uplifting new single. Listen to Anastasia Rizing's new single "Without You" here! Hey there Anastasia! We believe your music truly goes back to elemental aspects in the pop world and creates a  full-bodied experience for listeners. In what way do you believe you're connecting to your listeners through your vocal, and overall musical, production? Hey. Thanks for the kind words. I hope that I am connecting with the listener’s ears! Today’s vocal trends (especially in top 40 radio) are interesting. Listeners have attuned their ears to females with very bright, harsh, nasal sounds with harsh EQ as well as extremely light and airy head voice sounds. My hope is that the vocal style in the chorus will remind them slightly of what they have been listening to, but that the style in the verse will bring them somewhere new that maybe they haven’t been accustomed to. I am a product of the 90’s female singer-songwriter generation whose independent spirit was married to musicianship and authenticity. I want to authentically appeal to people who maybe have never listened to Sarah McLachlan’s Fumbling Towards Ecstasy but who would immediately disregard it because of the production. (I love production from the 80’s and 90’, but kids today can’t get used to it. Just ask my 14 year old!) Top 40 pop music leaves no room for flaws musically in rhythm or pitch and is mainly, electronic (look at the rise of DJs producing artist records). My goal was to make the choruses as perfect and flawless to appeal to the commercial ear and then to leave the flaws in the verse to introduce the listener to more of a realistic sound, a sound that frankly I prefer. I hope to hook people into the chorus.....to get it stuck in their ear first so that they can think about the words later. People have access to all kinds of music these days though the top 40 radio still seems to stay in one lane. My hope is that those who are willing to open their ears up to something new will appreciate the sounds. "Without You" was extremely inspirational, and got us moving right away! What was the ultimate goal you wanted to personally reach with the track once it debuted? If one person hears it, gets the earworm, and stops to think about the hope of God, then my goal is accomplished. I learned long ago that if I determine my accomplishments via numbers I will forever be seeking and climbing, never able to reach success. Success for me is found day by day, one person at a time, being loved, changed, inspired, and moved by my music. We know that there’s a deeply personal influence behind your song “Without You”, what can you tell us about the inspiration behind the lyrics? This past year my husband was diagnosed with end stage renal failure. In order to live he would need a kidney transplant. I felt as though the bottom fell out of my world. I used pray for things and for the future but I had to learn to pray for today and today alone because my future on earth was not in my hands. The song is about the idea of what we actually put our hope in. It is tricky, but to really know that we are putting hope in God alone and not in our circumstance or future is not easy to do. People want to put hope in God’s promises for a good future, but my lesson was that I need to put my hope in the character and goodness of My Father in heaven, no matter what happens here on earth. Good news though....my husband did get a new kidney and a new lease on life, but both he and I had to walk through the darkness. Thankfully, the Light of the World led the way. How does your musical hometown of Nashville, TN influence your sound? Wow. Good question. It has made me want to be even more myself. Singer-songwriters with guitars strapped on their backs are a dime a dozen here. I just want more than that. I hear more than that. To me yes, the song is key, but how it is produced and arranged plays a huge part. I can break all my songs down to do a songwriter round with me and my six-string, but my songs even when I am writing them, are written with the arrangement in mind, So I feel as though they are incomplete without my production. Maybe that’s because I have never felt as though I am only a singer-songwriter. I have always had the producer gene within me and my mind and ear goes there immediately, not just with my music but with everything I hear. I am easily bored with just a guitar and vocals. So to answer, it has driven me to become the producer I want to be. We're so excited to see what you'll be up to next within the music world! Any potential shows in the works? Well, not at this time. My evenings are spent taking my kids to their activities. But the beauty of this digital world is that people all over the world can hear my music with the click of a mouse or the touch of a screen. It keeps me comfy at home in my studio, my favorite place. Not saying I won’t play out in the future, but I just have too much to do in the studio!! I have so many projects in the works, but my next immediate release will be a cover of “Lovesong” by The Cure in the end of October. After that I have a Christmas EP due out in November and I am producing a Christmas single for my daughter. Next year I hope to pump out a couple of EPs and many singles. Lots of goals, so little time! But, I would rather be busy than bored! Connect with Anastasia Rizing: www.Instagram.com/anastasiarizing #BuzzMusic

  • Check Out Korfian’s Latest EP “Postfire” And Escape To The Experimental Sonics

Previously compared to Depeche Mode, Fever Ray, iamamiwhoami, and TsarB, Korfian is an Athens-based music producer, singer, and songwriter. He creates dark and melancholic experiences for his listeners, fusing both gritty soundscapes with otherworldly reverberations and dramatic sounds. Korfian began in 2015 and soon released a 4-track EP titled “Baroque” in 2017. A year after, “Baroque” was followed by “Event Horizon”  a second EP from Korfian, including 5 tracks, one of them sung in Greek. Out now is Korfian’s 4-track EP “Postfire”, that features “Handful Of Dirt”, a Baroque-Pop anthem, setting the tone for Korfian’s authentic sound. “Handful Of Dirt” features experimental and ground-breaking sounds with eerily melancholic vocals and themes intertwined. The sonic soundscapes provide a mind-bending experience for the listeners, allowing them to escape into Korfian’s eclectic world. Hypnotizing and finely-tuned, “Handful Of Dirt” is a dark electronic motif with elements that make the listener feel emotions of isolation and disparity. The mesmerizing synths and emotive lyricism fuse together into sounds that are authentic to Korfian’s style. His deep vocal tone and range keep the listener enticed while his experimental musical elements draw you further to a melancholic conclusion. We can’t wait to see what mysterious new projects Korfian will have for us in the future! Check out “Handful Of Dirt” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Welcome to BuzzMusic Korfian!  It's great to be able to feature "Handful Of Dirt" from “Postfire”! How did the production for the track go? Thank you for having me! The production went beyond my expectations actually. I surely wanted a deeper, more complex result than my previously released music in terms of melody, but I did not imagine all those layers would fit so harmonically. It feels like a level-up. What's the most integral message you want to be communicated to your listeners with "Handful Of Dirt"? To stop dwelling on the past. Nothing can be done about it. What can be done is happening here and now. Let's focus on that and walk through it carrying the lessons and experiences we have gained! Are you able to describe the impact music has had on your life thus far? How do you feel you personally connect with music? The impact was huge considering that I never imagined myself singing or creating music before 2015. I had built my vision of the future around graphic design and the need to make music was my personal game changer. No sure how I connect with music. But I can say that as a kid watching Mtv in the 90's until now, I've always been hungry to discover new voices, styles of music and even personas of artists. So the connection goes far back. What was the concept behind the music video for “Handful Of Dirt”? It was captivating! Thank you so much! The story of this video and 'Postfire' as a whole is following the events of the previous EP. My life afterwards. The video is dressed in red light coming from the Blood Moon, a phenomenon representing the beginning of the end times according to the Bible. That is how we feel when suffering. Like it's the end of the world. The vocals of songstress Joanna Bebelaki, my lovely muse, is actually our inner voice when it finally reaches the surface and tells us to move on. It was a treat to have you here on BuzzMusic Korfian! Tell us what you have planned next for yourself as an artist?! I used to plan everything but as I grow I plan less and less. I'm being spontaneous and I go where the road takes me. One thing that stays is that I need to make one EP each year as long as I can afford it and maybe make some baby steps towards confidence when singing in front of people. I might as well try to reach out to people who can support live shows of mine. When I feel ready that is! We can’t wait to see what Safi drops next Check out “What You Want” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Welcome to BuzzMusic Safi! How have you progressed, starting from when you were first releasing music, to now? When I first began to seriously pursue producing music, it was only me. I was making my own beats, recording over them in a publicly accessible recording studio, and mixing and mastering these projects with the limited knowledge that I had. My first song "Be Right There," the original, currently unreleased version was mediocre at best, in terms of production quality. I went on to release this song for a short amount of time, about a year ago, along with another, but eventually took them both down. I had realized that putting out one or two songs, without any future productions in mind would not be a very smart marketing strategy. I had discovered that building an immense amount of content and then releasing it on a consistent basis would be a much stronger approach that would help me attract listeners, gain traction, and start to build a fan base. So that is what I did. I kept my head down and out of the public eye and continued to produce music. As they say, if you do something long enough, people will start to take notice and that is what happened. Over time I began to meet people, sound engineers and beat producers, who wanted to work with me and as a result, helped to bring my music to the next level. Today, I have released four singles, consistently, over the past four months, have my own studio, have people who believe in me, and still have a strong number of unreleased music, waiting to be made public. Looking back over the last two years, I can say confidently, with humility, that my music has grown and evolved tremendously, my drive is stronger than ever before, and my dream, to take this world by storm with my music, is more real than ever before. I couldn't have gotten this far, without the people I met on the way and the people who continue to invest and believe in my ability to succeed. So, yes I do have a long road ahead of me, but I know that with the people I have in my corner, I have no excuse but to say, that I am going to make this happen! How would you say you personally navigate through the music world? What's your secret in becoming a well-rounded artist and musician? I genuinely believe that authenticity is key. Being yourself, whether its in your writing process, musical style, sense of fashion, or even when you're on stage performing, interacting with your fans, and engaging with them on social media, is like the anchor that keeps you grounded. As Matthew McConaughey once famously stated at his speech at the University of Houston a few years ago, "it is just as important, if not more important, to know who you are not, as it is to know who you are."As an artist, constantly making decisions that will impact your music, your fanbase, your income, and your fame, is part of the job description and that is why it is so integral to tame those decisions by a set of values or core beliefs that allow you to maintain your identity. Many artists struggle mentally and emotionally because they are convinced by the powers that be in the music industry that abandoning who you are and what defines you in order to amass as much wealth and fame is what will bring you success and happiness. I'm not against being wealthy and famous. In fact, I do personally want to attain wealth and fame through my music, but attaining that wealth through authenticity and love for the craft is much more sustainable in the long run and will leave you satisfied and happy with yourself and will also cause your fans to love you and respect you that much more. So I guess, to summarize, my long-winded answer, I feel that the key to being a well-rounded artist and musician that is adored by his/her fans and is content with success and not overwhelmed by wealth and fame, is to surround yourself with decisions and people who will remind you of who you are and what you stand for, because what is an artist truly, without their unique identity? "What You Want” was transformative in the most important way possible. We truly believe that you are changing the R&B music scene, and curating music that converts the entire category into something new and innovative! What are you main goals as an artist? My main goal as an artist is to remind people how to be people. I want to remind people that it is okay to express yourself and to be who you are and lead as a role model in that effort. We live in a time that is very divisive, where people are being taught to draw arbitrary lines, distancing themselves from one another, and I want to use my music and the platform that it will provide for me to unite people through my life experiences, authentic charisma, my raw emotional energy, and my music. I believe I have the ability to change the world and I know that the gifts I have been given to connect to people is unmatched and through my music, I can paint a relevant picture of my own life, the good moments, the bad, and the in-between, allowing people to not only hear my music but listen to what I stand for. I want my music and my whole being to inspire hope, passion, love, and optimism for the future. That is my goal as an artist and as a human being. That is what I stand for. Can you tell us more about your live performances? Do you prefer live performance over the actual songwriting/recording process? So I have been performing for almost as long as I have been producing music. In the earlier stages of my career, my performances were few and far in between, because I was more dedicated to actually developing content that I would then later perform. Some of my most notable performances included performing on a coke-sponsored stage at a University festival, weddings, open mics, and organizational events geared towards entertainment. Recently I have subscribed to a weekly open mic at a music and art cafe in Downtown Raleigh named Imurj. My goal there is to continue to develop my skills as a performer in front of a very receptive crowd and prepare myself for even bigger venues. To answer your second question, I think the songwriting/recording process and live performances both have their place when it comes to marketing yourself as a brand. The unique aspect about being in front of people on a stage, however, is that it allows people to experience your music and you as an individual in person, which is invaluable and irreplaceable and that is why it is imperative to be a great performer if you want to have great success in the music industry. Currently I am at a point with production where I have enough music professionally developed, waiting to be released, that I can say that I have the luxury of being able to focus on performing live in order to significantly develop and prepare myself for bigger and better opportunities to come. It was a treat to be featuring such original music here on BuzzMusic! What's the plan now, after the release of "What You Want”? Right before I released "What You Want," I had begun to shake things up on my production team, which includes mixing engineers, beat producers, visual content developers, and marketers. I let some people go, some had to leave, and I ultimately started to shift into a completely new team. This was important for me because having new people means that I will be working with new creative talent and avoid becoming comfortable and stagnant with what I was already producing. I believe evolving and adapting in order to grow yourself, no matter how uncomfortable it might be, is the key to becoming a successful artist and entrepreneur. Now I'm working with a new mixing engineer and beat producer to rework some of the songs I had lined up to release and improve them to give myself an advantage over my competitors in the industry. I am also collaborating with new visual artists, photographers, and videographers to create content that can go on platforms like Youtube, Instagram, and Spotify and become great complementary content for my music. Developing myself into an excellent performer is also on my checklist of things to accomplish as I move forward. In essence, my goal right now is to take this time that I have, while I keep releasing new music, to make myself more marketable and develop content that will complement my music and move in a direction that will begin a new chapter in my music career. On a side note, my next single will debut on all streaming platforms on October 18th. Just an example of how I'm constantly moving forward and planning my next move!
