  • Bafoory Gives Us An Inside Look At His Music In Exclusive Interview

Welcome back Bafoory! Congratulations on the release of you new EP “Time Machine”! What does this EP represent for you? Thank you guys, to me Time Machine represents Innocence and nostalgia and im sure it represents different things for different people. Which song on the EP forced you to channel to most emotion when creating it? Why? To me the song “Living Stone” was difficult to create in terms of the emotional output that I had to pour in the song, but at the same time it was “Time Machine” as well so I think both of  those songs I have equally channeled my emotions to them. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? To be honest I haven’t found exactly what my sound is and maybe i never will and its not a bad thing by the way I think the beauty of making and crafting music is to never settle on a certain type of sound, to me I love exploring other styles and aspects of different genres of music. Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them? Best setting to listen to my songs you’d have to ask the fans about it because I had a lot people come up to me and tell me their own settings so I cannot really tell what setting you can listen to my music on, I guess people who will listen to my music for the first time have to figure that out hahah here’s a mystery for ya. Can you dive into details about the lyricism in “Worth Fighting For”? Well Worth Fighting for is very a encouraging kind of a song about breaking free from whatever holding you back, but I wrote it with having depression and anxiety in mind and how it affects us all where we find ourselves lost and stuck and can’t get out of it. What’s next for you going through to the end of 2019? Well Im releasing 2 Music videos as well as working on my first Full length Studio album. • Artist Dėnz Updates BuzzMusic On Recent Track Release!

Hey Dėnz! How long have you been making original music? I started recording my songs less than two years ago, but I have been writing music since I was 15! In what ways would you say your sound or style has evolved over time? I believe that there’s always room for improvement for any artist, even for those who have a lot of experience and have been in the industry for many years. I think that over the last year I’ve learned to shape my ideas and the themes in my songs, my writing skills got sharper and it got easier for me to write songs. There’s still a lot of work left for me though, I can still feel that my writing skills and my sound can be so much better than right now. I always strive for the greatest, in my opinion perfection is impossible to reach, but if that’s what you’re trying to reach, excellence is what you’ll get. What does the song “The Come Off” represent for you, and what do you hope people take away from it? This is the first whole song that I wrote and recorded, that was about a year ago, I kept coming back and forth with this song, changing lyrics, adding new ideas because I wasn’t satisfied with the sound of it, which is why I released it last month, after convincing myself that the song was done. The whole message of the song is how we, as humans, can visualize our lives as movie tapes when we look back at all the obstacles we encountered in our lives. Loneliness and rejection from the society because of our differences are feelings that I tried to illustrate through my lyrics. We sometimes feel like lone wolves who have been let down by their herd. However, when we look back at the past, we tend to realize that being let down by people from our past made us stronger and better. Is live performance an important part of what you do, or of your plans? It is! But I never really thought about it for now to be honest. I do music so people can listen to it and take something away from my lyrics. As a new artist in the game I don’t feel like I should think about performing live right now. When I drop more music or even an album, I sure will and hopefully I will be able to share my music with everyone on shows! Who, what or where do you look to for inspiration when creating new music? My biggest inspiration is J. Cole, as an artist, and as a person, he’s the main reference for me when I need some inspiration for my music. I also like to get some ideas from Kendrick’s writing and flow, Joyner Lucas is one my favourite artists too, his storytelling skills are absolutely amazing. These are the top three rappers that I like to get inspired from. I also try to get some new ideas for different styles or different flows, so I turn to artists like Post Malone, NF, Drake and Joey Badass, all of them amazing artists! How has 2019 been so far for you? What’s next? It has been good! I basically started dropping my songs 3 months ago only, so in music terms this year started only in June for me! However, 2020 will be a big year for me as I have lots of stuff coming soon. Stay tuned. "The Come Off" can be listened to here! • Chrys Thompson Drops Another Banger Of 2019 Titled “Aerials”

Chrys Thompson is a Los Angeles-based recording artist and producer who grew up in Palm Springs, California. First entering the music scene as a freestyle rapper during his high school days, Chrys started producing, writing and recording songs in college and formed a hip-hop duo, Natural Disasters. Chrys has always shared a passion for music and decided to move to LA in 2011 to get closer to the action. In 2018, Chrys linked up with two business partners, who also produce and write songs, to co-found a recording studio and music production company, Hush Money Music. In 2019, Chrys released his first two singles, "We On", and "Aerials" and is showing no signs of slowing down. He is known for delivering inspirational lyrics filled with energy and enthusiasm. Chrys loves to tell his story authentically and sees music as a means to motivate, inspire and connect people around him as he has a strong desire to be both heard and felt by the music community. We checked out Chrys Thompson’s latest track “Aerials” and we’re blown away by the authentic soundscape. Conceptually and musically, this release is one that paves its own way. While there’s a certain simplicity to the soundscape, a descending bass-line, and chord progression and a distorted depth overall, “Aerials” in full evolves into a slightly more complex and hard-hitting state. The music intensifies, the beat grows thicker and louder it seems, and meanwhile various new synths and details rain down on the outer edges. Simplicity and complexity unite well here, ultimately resulting in a sense of creative freedom. Blending simplicity and complexity, Chrys Thompson is the one to watch! Check out “Aerials” here and read more with Chrys Thompson in our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! "Aerials" has many layers and different concepts. What’s the overall theme you were trying to achieve with this record? My vision for this record was to create imagery of zooming out of your everyday perspective and gaining another perspective from an elevated viewpoint, especially when things aren't going as planned or during low points in life. So the words "Get the Aerial" refer to getting the aerial view. The song also demonstrates my growth as an artist as I experimented with singing for most of the song and added a rap verse to pick up the energy and help connect the idea of a fresh start "all new vibes" by encouraging listeners to keep a positive mindset. What do you hope your listeners take away from "Aerials"? I hope my listeners are inspired to continue along their journey and use this song to motivate them as they pursue their dreams and everything else that is involved with becoming successful. The main takeaway is that even when things don't go your way, you can still achieve whatever you set your mind to as long as you keep moving forward. One huge factor in getting through tough times is being able to change your perspective on the situation and find a way to be grateful for everything that happens along the way. What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? Mainstream music has gotten to a place where genres are being fused together and technology has allowed for big advances in both music and vocal production. Still the best songs out are the ones that influence culture and set the tone for the current times of today. Artists that take bold stances and say exactly what they want to say tend to have greater chances of longevity in this competitive and fast paced industry. One thing I have noticed is that collaborations seem to be increasing among some of the biggest artists as they are joining up to create powerful songs that quickly become instant hits around the country and world. What’s the best thing that could happen for you right now as an artist? The best thing that could happen for me right now would be a dramatic increase in exposure for my music. Getting added to playlists and beginning to be known for creating quality music is a major factor in establishing yourself as an artist. Another area is collaborations, finding like-minded artists and producers who share a similar and/or compatible style and energy would allow me to be introduced to their fan bases and also become associated with other sub-genres and a wider range of productions that could help elevate my brand and identity in the music community, especially in LA. What do you hope to achieve through the end of 2019? My goal is to release a few more songs by the end of the year and go into 2020 with the momentum that I have established in my first year of releasing music on major platforms. Gaining new fans and listeners is a major focus of mine as well as continuing to solidify my presence on social media, blogs and locally in Southern California. I don't even remember to be honest, but I knew I wanted something to stand out. Came upon LL. Can you dive into the meaning of the lyrics in “Beast Side”? What does this track represent for you? If you really listen to the chorus, it's a rage against my brother leaving to the "east side" of the United States. It brought out my beast side feeling abandoned I guess. As far as the verse I'm really out here just tryna showcase my lyrical ability that everyone doubted I had. I can bring a variety of different flows and tempos. How did your collaboration with yourmomlikesmymusic come about? Can we expect more from you two in the future? We promoted our music with the same youtube influencer. • BuzzMusic Talks With OAKLND On His Latest Music!

Hey OAKLND! Congrats on the release of your new single “Good 4 Me”! What does this song represent for you? I kinda strip a song right back and make it all about the lyrics. It's also super shorts, i just wanted to try and really what i was saying across. i wanted this one to really mean something and for it to really resonate with people. It's definitely one of the most personal things i've written. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? So i guess it would have to be Hurts Like Hell - it's got a lot more substance to it that some of the first songs i put out, but it's also a bop. Where is the best setting to listen to “Good 4 Me”, and what do you hope people take away from it? On a night drive. I kinda just hope it really hits with people, they'll make they're own understanding of it, but i really just want it to resonate with everyone. What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? It's so cool how there's been such a power shift towards artists, more and more artists keeping the rights to their masters, being independent. I love that there's a not really a line between indie and pop as well, artists like The 1975 and LANY pushed the boundaries of what pop can be. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? I want to be able to be independently sustainable. Spotify is such a big player in the industry now and i really want to grow my presence there - and just to work with other great artists. • Independently Making His Name Know, Check Out This Up And Comer Golden Gho5t

When you see the name and face of Golden Gho5t, you are witnessing the epiphany of a young man who was once at the lowest point mentally. Not due to depression or being poor or having nothing, but because this young man was living a lifestyle that ultimately made him unhappy. He realized this at the age of and chose to start researching and finding his own conclusions to questions he has had and rediscovered his passion for music. Golden Gho5t makes music with insightful messages and positive energy with the hope that his fans can learn from him. He aims to inspire his listeners so they don’t make the same mistakes he did. “All Gold” is a well-produced and versatile track from Golden Gho5t. He impresses in an instant with this single. “All Gold” pours through with an immediate sense of intention, calm and collected yet lyrically smart verses. From the offset, Golden Gho5t’s bars, rhymes, and ideas feel genuinely fresh and intensely purposeful. The backdrop is somewhat simple, a partly classic hip hop vibe emerges with a haunting riff that rolls along throughout. The beat feels more contemporary with a lightness that suits the modern approach of the lyrics. It’s a fairly minimalist set-up because all that’s needed is a touch of rhythm and a vibe, Golden Gho5t’s performance does the rest. Check out “All Gold” here and read more with Golden Gho5t below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Golden Gho5t! Can you tell us about your upbringing and how you got started making music? - Thank you for having me! I grew up with pretty normal circumstances for a child. Have a good family that raised me right and molded me into a young man with great character and passion. This said passion however wasn't realized until recently however. That's because I never knew what I wanted out of my life until I started taking music seriously. And I didn't want to believe working 9 to 5 all my life is the "dream" that I want to live. I always had some interest in music. I played percussion in my middle school concert band, played full set drums at my church when I was younger and tried my hand at hip hop during summers on and off. It was only until about 2 years ago where I started to really take notice about how much of an impact music has on my life and a year ago I decided to take action on that passion and make it something I can make a career out of. What’s the meaning behind the lyrics in “All Gold”? - All Gold is full of punchlines and entendres all over the track. But the overall meaning behind all of them was basically to give the listeners the "I'm the man" vibe to it. People who listen and feel the lyrics or try to put themselves in the perspective as the guy behind the mic gets the feeling of I'm that guy. That is almost a good premise for all of my music; To spark some emotion by putting themselves in my point of view. Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them? - As I said before my main goal behind my music is to spark emotion from the listeners putting themselves in my position when I'm behind the mic. The specific emotion for all Gold that I hope to spark is confidence. As far as the best place to listen to them I believe would be in the car, a party or anywhere with speakers where you can hear all of the sound. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? - My aspirations are still rooted from when I first started to take this music seriously. There are many artists that have made music just for the sake of helping their fans feel something positive. And that's what I'm going to continue to do. Give people something different to feel besides always having money or needing to take someone's life or heartbreak like you hear of so much in media. I want people to feel and grow with me and have the empowerment to think for themselves and have insight. And as I further my career that's what I intend to do. Can you tell us about some of your upcoming events and tour dates? - As of now I don't have a tour set up because I am still underground and one thing that I need in order to grow in the music business is finance which is hard to come by for me since I'm just starting out. However I did do a show on August 29th of this year for my first performance and I plan to do more down the line. I encourage anyone who wants to be updated on when I do another show to follow me on Instagram or Facebook. I am always trying to keep people updated and I always try to answer questions that people ask in the dms. Keep up with Golden Gho5t! www.instagram.com/goldengho5t www.facebook.com/GhostWriterCartel #BuzzMusic

  • Clane Matthew Brings Inspiration To Jamaican Youth

Originally from Jamaica, Clane Matthew moved to the United States in 2008. He didn’t have a lot of money growing up and would face many challenges that came along with it, but would eventually overcome them. Clane always had a love for hip hop and rap and admired Eminem's artistry and versatility in his music. Clane knew that he wanted to do something great with his music and wants to help today’s young generation by becoming a symbol and role model by providing positivity, knowledge, awareness, and peace. He wants to make a difference in this world and to be a glimpse of light that brings hope. Clane Matthew released his single “I’m Not A Rapper” earlier this season and we can't get enough. Featuring heavy subject matter delivered in an easy-to-swallow manner, “I’m Not A Rapper” includes spectacular visuals to match. Touching on plenty that’s wrong in the world at present, the track leads with a dark beat and a heavy lyrical backbone. The vocal rhythm subsequently moves through with impact and keep things fresh and creatively interesting. Not only is the track conceptually poignant and impossible to ignore, but it introduces a lyrically thoughtful creative, a writer and performer with an articulate and socially aware approach to artistry. Though the topics are heavy, their presence within the world is too, so this representation makes sense as you ponder the ideas and the underlying concept. Clane Matthew directly references several topics but never dwells for too long on a single story. The whole thing stays focused on this blanket of awareness and thought which is the depth of “I’m Not A Rapper”. Listen to “I’m Not A Rapper” here and check out our exclusive interview with Clane Matthews below! Welcome back Clane Matthew! Always a pleasure to feature new music with you. Tell us all about “I’m Not a Rapper”. What does this song represent for you? This song represents a new way of life to me. This song is meant to call out all of these so called “rappers” who speak about nothing but drugs, cars, guns and money. While our kids succumb to the negativity, their pockets get fatter and fatter; and that’s what this song is aiming to put a stop to. Nowadays the term rapper is used so loosely. Think about it, if someone were to come up to you and tell you that they’re a rapper, your first thought would be “oh no he’s one of those SoundCloud rappers” or “oh no I bet he raps about mollies and alcohol.” That’s where the title and the chorus” I’m Not A Rapper” comes in. The term serves to acknowledge viewers and listeners that I am not similar to these “rappers” and that I’m an artist looking to make change by changing the way each and everyone of us see the world around us. I do not conform to the societal stereotypes that the public has about rappers; and that’s what this song talks about. I actually didn’t think I was capable of rapping like this. I didn’t think I could rap lyrically on a sick beat and then just go hard on the second verse. This is actually my first attempt at doing a song like this, and everyone has gravitated to it very well. I even feel that this song might me my best work yet. I know you may disagree or my audience and fans may disagree but I feel that the heart, soul and vibe in this is just unique. This opens so many more doors for me, and I can’t wait to see what comes next in the future. What’s your favorite lyric that you feel has the most impact in “I’m Not a Rapper”? Why? “Bitch, I’m Not A Rapper”. I know it seems simple but there’s such a deeper meaning to this that some people actually missed it. What made people confused was that I said that I’m Not A Rapper, but the whole song is a rap song, and I’m rapping; so they thought I was contradicting myself with the song. I made sure that I carefully set up the first verse to lead listeners into the message I wanted them to grasp, and then used the second verse as a finisher to justify why I’m Not A Rapper. Some received it quickly while others were a bit confused. The reason I liked this line is because it makes the audience sit and wonder what I meant by it. I’ve had multiple fans inbox and comment that they would like me to explain. After I told them, they were completely baffled! They have never thought something so simple, could represent something so deep and unique. Overall I loved the thinking process that the line placed on everyone. That’s why I make the songs I make: so people can think and understand through a different lens. What’s the concept behind your music video? The concept of the video wasn’t for the audience. The video was just for the audience to watch something while listening to the song. The video itself was inspiration for the people back home in St. Thomas, Jamaica. The reason why I filmed this video in the rural part of St. Thomas is because that’s where I’m from originally. I’m from Airy Castle, St. Thomas, Jamaica and I moved to the states when I was 9. I went back home this past week to see family and persuade the youth. I included my childhood friends and family in the video so they could be seen by the world. I want each and everyone of them to know that just because you're from a small village, in a small parish, on a small island, doesn’t mean you can’t make a big change in the world. I wanted them to see that anything is possible if they just believe in themselves and put their faith to work. My online presence on Google and Facebook pays tribute to that hard work, and I want them to know that whenever they feel like they can’t do it anymore, just type “Clane Matthew” on the web and remember that a little kid, from a little village on a little island, made big accomplishments; and if he can do that, so can they. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? Man that’s a tough one. Ummm the song that would describe my sound the most is “Platforms” from my “On the Real” EP. The song talks about the social implications of social media on its users and how it can negatively affect us. I would definitely say that song describes my sound, and if anyone was to be introduced to Clane Matthew, that’s the first song I would want them to hear. It wasn’t long since we’ve last featured your music! How do you stay on track to create relevant content so consistently? I honestly don’t know how I do it. I know the facts, and I know how to give it to the public; it’s just the time. I don’t have much time in my hand cause I rotate back and forth from church, work and school. I try my best to prioritize and when I see an opening I try my best to make it work. With my fans continuing to support my cause, I don’t think I’ll be stopping anytime soon. Mama LOOK, I made the Money Talk." to me, that's a clear visualization of what we all go through, we all deal with doubt, we all have an audience, and it's not necessarily always a standing ovation, and the best way to silence them is let your work show your worth, it's a Marathon you need to save your breath. • DJ SpreadJoy, Part Of Collective Irie Stylers, Releases Smooth Fusion Of Genres In “Dubsteady”

Canadian good vibes selector DJ SpreadJoy linked up with Venezuelan producer Luis Caldera to lay the foundation of the rocksteady song “Dubsteady” was initiated. Rocksteady is a genre that came from ska, and it is a precursor to reggae. After Luis laid the bass, percussion, and guitar, DJ SpreadJoy connected with NYC based Matt Giella to add the trumpet. To round off the track, SpreadJoy sought the work of reggae pianist Adrian Norén from Sweden. The song lead to the release of an EP album of the same title, including previous works and additional tracks orchestrated by DJ SpreadJoy. The rocksteady, ska and reggae fused funky dubs EP of sweet sounds and nice vibes was released August 30th on all major music platforms, featuring even more international artists with the collective group name as the Irie Stylers. “Dubsteady” offers the fullness of a live reggae band, along with a notable ska aura that fuses with that raw musicality in an energizing way. Where many instrumental compositions follow a progressive and somewhat experimental story-line, there are definite threads of familiarity throughout this piece. Moments of melody and flickers of character, all of which help “Dubsteady” feel like a recognizable song in many ways. It’s an unusual quality but one that helps present a level of identity that will likely allow listeners to connect the music to the artist in an instant after hearing it even just once. There are stages to “Dubsteady”, moments of change and evolution. All the while though, the energy remains at a constant high, the piano and the horns keep hopefulness and brightness at the forefront of the experience. There’s just the added benefit of movement to help hold tight to your interest. I highly recommend you give “Dubsteady” a listen and stay tuned for more! Check out “Dubsteady” here and read more with DJ SpreadJoy below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What does the release of the “Dubsteady” EP represent for you? Thank you for having us! This EP is the first release by the Irie Stylers and SpreadJoy Entertainment. Prior to the thought of the EP, I had worked with artists and producers to create sounds of various genres to DJ with. Before the passing of my father, he got to hear the first and third track. When initially thinking of releasing some of the works, I wanted do something nostalgic that would appeal to him and all generations. He didn't get to hear the second track he inspired that would set the theme and tie together the other tracks, but I can see him tapping his foot or standing up to dance with his walker. To me the EP represents the countless music lessons my dad took me to, along with all of his love and support. What feelings do you hope to instil in your listeners when they hear your music? Overall I hope to instill joy, comfort and freedom through music. With this EP I wanted a rocksteady nostalgia feeling that takes you back to a time just before reggae. Feelings are the very base of the foundation in the composition of the songs and feelings are taken in consideration with arrangement of tracks. The EP starts with "Rise and Shine Dub" to softly uplift the spirit of the listener. The direction given to Vuk Starinac was to "have it flow with positivity and shine love." The second track, Dubsteady, is placed there to continue the uprising vibe and steadily rock your mind, body and soul. The way Luis Caldera shreds the guitar, and the blend of Matt Giella on trumpet and Adrian Norén's piano is mind enhancing. The third track placement is to provide a jolt of energy. "Groovy Skank" is exactly what the title suggests; Luis will have you up grooving your body and skanking your feet! The fourth track, "Swagger On, Funkster" brings the energy down to a nice strolling pace that carries the vibe after listening. Which song off of the EP is the most enjoyable for you to perform? People really enjoy the song "Dubsteady" and it is nice to see them happy. "Groovy Skank" really gets people moving. However my personal favourite to perform is "Swagger On, Funkster" to watch people escape in the groove and the dub effects added to Bárbara Bolívar's flute. What is your most profound influence when curating your pieces? Having fun! Before starting to work on a new piece, I like to give the artists a pep talk conveying the energy to put into the work. I like to keep things stress free to keep it fun. Each song captures a bit of the souls from each musician. Feelings are transformed into the music, so it's vital to have fun! Personally I really enjoy the old Caribbean orchestrated sounds that lead to the rocksteady era; like John Buddy Williams, Don Drummond, Duke Reid, Prince Buster, The Folkes Brothers, The Jamaicans, Drumbago All Stars. Orchestrated sounds influenced the Dubsteady EP, but other pieces I produce range from ska and rocksteady to reggaeton and modern dancehall. What’s next for you through the end of 2019? Before the end of the year you might see some singles released by myself, DJ SpreadJoy, or from the Irie Stylers. However, I'll be preparing to host a Winter Thaw event and possibly a full album release early next year! Follow up with DJ SpreadJoy via his Instagram! #BuzzMusic
