- Warmth And Melancholy Unite In Loose Bolts’ Latest Single “This Is Goodbye”
Loose Bolts is a talented singer, songwriter, producer, engineer, and multi-instrumentalist. A Baton Rouge native, currently residing in the Florida panhandle between Tallahassee and Pensacola, Loose Bolts initially was a side project amidst a long-winded stint drumming for a metal band. Around this same time, Gomez played drums for a Folk/Surf Punk act known as The Pistachios. After releasing the 4 song "Discontent" EP in the summer of 2015 and a short tour with his Metal band, Gomez decided to take this project more seriously once it became clear that his songwriting and passion had impacted his local scene in a way that was more about connecting with others, as opposed to any other musical agenda. All things considered, 2019 has been the most prolific year for Gomez’s musical life and it appears that he is only really just getting started. “This Is Goodbye” is Loose Bolts latest single, the instrumentation behind the words rises expressively and powerfully. “This Is Goodbye” is connected at every step to the underlying sentiments and intentions of the song. As “This Is Goodbye” progresses, we are taken through the various stages of learning and looking back, meandering from optimism to error, from hope to pain, from joy to guilt. Ultimately the song calls for the listener to break free, to be content as an individual. Personal reflections meet with broader poetic references to create something that easily relates to just about anyone who knows what love and loss mean. “This Is Goodbye” builds up in a perfectly emotional manner, all the way through until it's a beautifully chaotic breaking point. A powerful and timeless track that brings together purity and pain from the depths of the human experience. We can’t wait to hear more from Loose Bolts! Listen to “This Is Goodbye” here and read more with Loose Bolts below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! In your own words, what does “This Is Goodbye” represent for you? -Thanks for having me. Glad to be here! Well saying goodbye can be so painful, but it can also feel so good. I think the song sort of tells a story of a shift in perspective in regards to a relationship with another person. At first it may hurt, but if it's what's best, then you will know it in the end. I think a person of any age can use that sort of reminder from time to time. What emotions did you channel when writing this song? It was definitely a mixed bag. The music came first. The moment I had the first progression and started trying to sing over it, I had a pretty strong hunch as to what feeling it was trying to communicate. I was mostly upset and angry, and felt that my actions, or lack thereof, were misunderstood by the person I had in mind. What do you hope people take away from this release? I'm always hoping to inspire or to be inspirational in some way, but hopefully a feeling of comfort at the least. Comfort and acceptance of your own feelings towards a person or a situation. Just let it happen. Who or what would you say inspires or influences you the most musically? That's a tough question to answer. After I released my first EP in 2015, I started to develop this vision of like... Combining the more unique or overlooked aspects that I see in some of my favorite artists. In a broad sense, I really appreciate other artists who are able to stay in touch with their own perspective on other people's visions. It's the only way to really do anything new or interesting conceptually in this day and age. I could be wrong, but I have a feeling that I'm onto something there. What are your main aspirations as an artist right now? Just to stay in touch with who I think I am while trying to discover any sort of confines or "glass ceilings" that might exist in my creative mind. I'm not much of a careerist, but I do have aspirations that align with the idea of building a career in music. What’s something about you that most people don’t know? I guess you could say that I'm agnostic. Lol Connect with Loose Bolts on social media: Instagram Twitter Facebook #BuzzMusic
- Powerhouse Band The Unfound Make Statement With Debut Single “Sooner Or Later”
Formed in 2017 in Montreal, Canada, The Unfound is comprised of Alberto D’Onofrio, Benjamin Morris and brothers Jeremy and Matt Grippo. The driving rock band creates hard-hitting and powerful music for listeners from all walks of life. Brought together by a shared love of Canadian progressive giants, Rush, guitarist Alberto met drummer Jeremy and bass player Matt in early 2017. After playing through several cold winter weeks, the three had the sound they wanted, a 1970’s mix of thunderous marshall chords and big hooks. After a few fruitless auditions, the three Canadians were joined by vocalist Ben after he and Alberto were introduced completely by chance at a work function. The addition of Ben, an indie rocker and lover of 80's new wave and 90's alt-rock, made for an interesting fusion of ideas. Before long, the band’s current sound was established. With their debut single “Sooner or Later” out now, The Unfound are the ones to watch! Throughout “Sooner or Later” The Unfound consistently showcase different sides to their creative approach. From softness to weight, calm to chaos, they utilize every element involved to craft something artistically relevant to the song’s underlying concept. “Sooner or Later” is a song that takes full advantage of contrast and builds up through its various sections in a manner that feels perfectly united to the sentiments in the writing. While that unmistakable voice is the first thing to reach out, later on it’s the switch to a partly industrial rock explosion of energy and color. There’s as much power in the instrumentation as there is in any of the lyrics or vocal inflections. The Unfound are rock and roll first and foremost; loud, chaotic and urgent, but with an underpinning of infectious melody that gets stuck in your head for days. Absolutely worth a listen, we’re looking forward to more from The Unfound! Check out “Sooner or Later” here! Read more with The Unfound in our exclusive interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Congratulations on your debut single "Sooner Or Later". How would you introduce the sound, style and intention of this release? “Sooner or Later” is our first release and we want it to serve as an introduction to the sound and style of The Unfound. The song is led by a heavy rock groove reminiscent of 70s hard rock, and also features an anthemic chorus that’s a fan favorite and always gets people signing along. Our sound can be best described by this fusion of urgent chaotic energy with infectious melody that won’t fail to get stuck in your head for days. How do you decide what to write about and in which direction to take things as a group? The band began with brothers Jeremy and Mathew Grippo looking for a guitarist and a singer. They eventually brought in guitar player Alberto D’Onofrio based on their shared love of Canadian prog giants Rush and other classic heavy rock bands. Singer Benjamin Morris joined after moving to Montreal from London, UK, having formerly been involved in the UK indie rock scene. The creative process which followed led to us developing our distinct sound over a number of months. We learned about each other’s creative influences and listened to a lot of music together. The result is our band’s distinctive melodic hard rock, part British and part Canadian, with a modern delivery. Although we are definitely anchored by our classic influences, we don’t want to be completely stuck in the past. We’re playing with the classic four-piece configuration and combining that huge and timeless marshal guitar sound with an exciting vocal style that completely diverts from the classic rock framework. As for the subject of our songs, we write are about people who are lost, or looking for their true identity. The narrator of “Sooner or Later” is talking to someone who once knew who they were, but has been through hell and is going to bounce back. I think we all feel lost at times, and the world is incredibly bewildering for everyone, especially young people who are just trying to find their place. Our songs are for them. What are your thoughts on the contemporary rock music of 2019 so far? A lot of the rock music we’ve heard this year and last year seems to be heavily retro and influenced by the classics. This was probably inevitable as rock has such an amazing pedigree with over 50 years of amazing music to draw on. As long as you’re trying to do something original, and adding your own twist on an older sound, you’re going to produce a great record. Where will you be touring in Canada? Do you have any official dates yet? We will be embarking on the “Sooner or Later” tour, starting with our release show in Montreal on 30 August. Here are the dates: AUGUST 30, 2019. MONTREAL QC, LA VITROLA. (SOONER OR LATER RELEASE SHOW) SEPTEMBER 1, 2019. OTTAWA ON, MAVERICKS SEPTEMBER 3, 2019. KINGSTON ON, OVERTIME SPORTS BAR SEPTEMBER 5, 2019. - Backsteps Release Their Spectacular Debut Album “Fantasy Junction”
Backsteps is an eclectic musical collective comprised of lead singer and saxophonist David Morris, guitarist and lead producer David Schwarz, drummer and vocalist Noah Patton, bassist Kevin Judd and pianist Isaac Monheit. The young and up and coming group has just released their debut album titled “Fantasy Junction”. The 13-track album will make you dance, laugh and sing along to a diverse range of genres. Backsteps play with a wide range of styles such as alternative, indie, rock, jazz, and funk. They promise that there is something on their album for everyone to enjoy! The first song on the album is the addicting and catchy hit “Sameolesong”. The composition of multi-layered sounds has me blown away instantly. David's strong vocals complement with the mellow and groovy sound perfectly. The upbeat arrangement has me tapping my feet while we’re introduced to the explosive sounds of Backsteps. “Fine By Me” is the second song on the same-titled EP. It’s an intoxicating piece but still keeps up with the vibrant psychedelic sound that Backsteps is known for. “Fine by Me” features a surprising and experimental rap verse but we’re loving for me. We love when artists bring new creative elements to the table and execute it perfectly. As the album “Fantasy Junctions” transitions, we’re blessed with a completely different vibe in “Malibu Mission”. This track takes the listener on a light-hearted journey and is heavily laden with saxophone brilliance and fun-loving xylophone melodies. With no vocals needed to have us dancing and jamming alone, “Malibu Mission” is a song that will surely cheer up any listener. “Dance a While” is an easy listening indie-rock song that makes you want to do exactly what the title insists. The lyricism is emotive and the vocals are hypnotic. I enjoy the orchestral aesthetics in this composition, it’s chilling and transcendent and overall, beautiful. As the album “Fantasy Junction” transitions into the next track, “Freeable” we get a taste of groovy transitions and jazzy soundscape. The song explodes into a soulful blues track and we can’t get enough. Sultry energy all the way through, Backsteps showcases their undeniable skill-set. I love the precise keys and the bouncing, melodies tunes. Next on the album is “Help Me”, a retro track that moves through infectious melodies and intricate riffs. Backsteps fuse R&B, neo-soul, and an old school Chicago blues sound to create musical chaos. With more of a storytelling element, Backsteps deliver powerful and quirky rhythms. They lay down some tight grooves to move into “They Don’t”. The power saxophone takes us through an alluring soundscape once again. Backsteps keep their listeners and fans hooked and dancing along from start to finish. “Jewel has a dark and melancholic intro that explodes into an upbeat and jazzy dance tune. The chemistry that the Backsteps exude is admirable and galvanizing to the music industry today. The track is a true “Jewel” within the album. “We Grow” is a slow tempo ballad with heart-wrenching lyrics. I can hear the raw emotion in the vocals and the passion that went into curated this song. The next track “Oasis” features perfect timing and tempo, everything is flawless and finely-calibrated while the sultry change in tone is a refreshing new twist to an impressive album. Still keeping things jazzy and contemporary, Backsteps always adds their flare to keep up with their psychedelic aesthetic. Next up is “Point Of Being Pt. 1”, the alluring riffs at the beginning of the track are the perfect intro to a timeless classic. The song gives us a retrospective look at the inner thoughts and feelings of Backsteps’ outlook on the meaning of life. Dedication to craft in the detail is admirable while the infectious and vivid music fused together is awakening. “Point Of Being Pt. 2” brings us a spectacular intro and moves into more inner contemplation and personal emotion. It dives into electronic and psychedelic sounds and allows the listener to escape into the music. “They Do!” is the concluding track to a finely-calibrated project. This song is a jazzy composition with rhythmic textures, layered instrumentals, and an energetic and contagious finale. “Fantasy Junction” is a diverse debut album and an incredible launch for Backsteps musical career. We love the experimental and refreshing twist on contemporary music through the use of jazz, blues, and soulful elements. Equipped with an ear for excellence and the ambition to excel in the game, Backsteps are the ones to watch! Listen to “Fantasy Junction” here and get to know more about Backsteps below! Welcome and congratulations on the release of “Fantasy Junction”!! What would you say is the overall theme of this album? Placing one theme on the album is very hard because of how wide it spans in genres but we’d say the themes are love, fantasy, city-life, nostalgia, and existentialism. We wanted to bring the joy of the 60s into the psych-rock of the 70s mixed with the synth of the 80s all with a jazz template and of course, make it all applicable to our generation. There’s a song in there for everyone! What are your personal favorite tracks on the album? Why? Our favorites are Dance a While because it's a feel-good summer song, Help Me because it really shows who we are as people and how we can have fun with making music, and Malibu Mission because it was the first song I wrote for the album. I wrote it sitting in the back of an acting class, where at that moment I realized I wanted to do something bigger, something real. I was tired of personifying characters that were already made when I still felt I hadn’t found my own. I can now say our characters have all been found in this album. In the tracks “Point Of Being Pt. 1&2”, the lyricism feels really personal, can you shed more light on the meaning behind the lyrics? The Point of being tracks are the only ones where the narrative is actually coming from us. For all the others we came up with stories and characters for each one instead of writing things about ourselves. Point of Being Pt. 1 is all about struggling to obtain the reason for existence while balancing judgment and ignorance. The lyrics in Pt. 2 speak on having found what we believe is the point of being. One needs to, as I wrote, “seize [their] space” and own what they desire. That is accentuated by the instrumentation behind it which makes us feel speechless and afloat in life’s mystery. Let’s talk about the writing process for the album “Fantasy Junction”! It must feel amazing to have it released. Can you talk about some challenges you faced while creating it? Our time was limited seeing as our bassist was going on a national tour with his primary band Ultra Q and our guitarist/co-producer was leaving around the same time so that left us with only about a month to make and finish the entire album. This was a challenge for us because we’re the kinda cats that usually go out during the summer day but we spent every day working until we needed to sleep. Overall this was a great experience for our first album because it showed us how to do it in only a month so now we know how much we’ll be able to accomplish next time. What’s next for Backsteps? A never-ending act of new genres with no jurisdiction. Connect with Backsteps on social media www.instagram.com/backstepsband #BuzzMusic

Hey Randay! Welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell us about your upbringing? How did you get started in music? Hey BuzzMusic! So basically, I started singing since I was a baby. I started in church choirs, and school choirs, became a model for 2 years, but my heart always belonged to music, so left the modeling world to focus on that. I'd always write songs when I was a kid, come up with melodies, but it was really when my parents once bought an old organ from a garage sale, they put it in the basement, then one day I'd always go to the organ and start fooling around on there, and divulging into melodies. From there on, my parents knew I was musically involved, and that was the door that opened. Can you dive into details about the lyricism in “Otherwise”? What inspired this song? 'Otherwise' is a song that's so special me, I wrote this song because of rejection. Being rejected from people that didn't want to really know me for who I was or what I was about made me feel like I didn't know my place, or who I was, or losing my identity. After some time of finding myself, and regaining confidence, and loving who I was inside and out, I was able to be inspired to write a new anthem, an anthem for the ones who've been rejected before, it;s about not forgetting who you, and taking all that time given to those who don't want you, back to yourself. Don't forget your identity or who you are because it's so easy to feel lost. This song has a great message in it, but you can also throw your hands up in the air to it! Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them? The best setting to listen to my songs are when you are at a party, or having girls night, or night with the boys, you can listen to my songs in your underwear dancing around your room, or getting ready before a night out, or when you're alone and just want to disappear with the music, at least that's why I do with my headphones all the time. My music is for everyone, all ages, no matter who you are, whether you're in love, want to party, feeling hurt, a breakup, feeling sexy, or just feeling fine, with these different messages in these songs, hopefully people can connect to it, and just find themselves in these tracks. What are the main values you want to bring to the music world? I think what I want to bring to the music world as an artist is positivity and light. We live in such a dark world, where sympathy and love is non-existent, so by showing love and compassion with my fans, I want us to be a team of light and positivity to look out for one another, love eachother, and care for eachother. If ever you feel neglected, or alone, you don't ever have to feel that way, because on Team Randay, it's nothing but love. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? I've just put out my new single 'Otherwise', so i'm very excited about how everything will turn out, I will be shooting a video for that very soon, and also have been working on a lot of new music to follow suit, my fans have been so patient, so i'm ready to deliver, and deliver something that I am proud of, a fun pop record. I wish to continue to evolve as an emerging artist, learn what I need to learn, anything to make myself even more happier, and of course do it for my amazing fans. Destiny is impressively versatile and authentic to the core. We love this track and can’t wait to hear more! Give a listen to "I'm Sorry" here, and continuing reading for our interview with Destiny! Hey Destiny! We’re loving your song “I’m Sorry”. It seems very personal and open, what’s it all about? “I’m Sorry” is essentially about the period of time before women find out their ex’s are cheating. Up until I found it, it was a constant cycle of apologizing about thinking he was cheating. He was good at hiding it :)I’d always feel super bad after it turned out things weren’t what they seemed. I revisited those emotions and wrote this song. “I’m Sorry” has a strong lyrical depth to it! Do you always write in this manner? Do you ever worry about divulging too much through your songwriting? Or do you think it’s better to be vulnerable? A lot of my music thus far comes from true experiences. Whether mine or those shared by close friends, the lyrics mean the most to me. I do stress sometimes because I keep my personal life mostly private. But writing is an expression. I’m always afraid someone is going to say “she’s talking about me”. But the vulnerability is what the masses relate too. So I do my best to find the balance without suppressing my emotions. And maybe change a name here or there lol How do you remain on track to continue writing new content so consistently? I constantly keep a notebook with me. When I’m feeling down, frustrated, and even super excited, I’ve found that writing about it can come in handy later as I’m looking for inspirations for new music. Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them? I’m working on music for every mood. With this latest single, you may enjoy while trying to win your good thing back or maybe while cruising down the interstate. I would say pick which song fits your situation for the moment. I hope the men and women take away from this song that all men are not bad. They are plenty of good men out there. Don’t lose yours following the status quo. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? Moving forward, I want to grow, grow, grow, and grow more. There’s a lot of work to be done. But I like to think bigger than I can imagine. I can’t wait to go on my first tour. I see myself being an international artist. I love people and performing for them. I want to spread more love. Most importantly, I want to maintain the authenticity in my music. Check out more on Destiny and her music via her Instagram! #BuzzMusic
- With His New Track “Confess”, GiZRoK Takes You On A Journey Through His Self-Titled Genre
Born in Fort Benning, GA, GiZRoK grew up in a family full of musicians. Although he did not initially gravitate towards being musically talented, he nurtured his talent for writing which led him to put his focus into becoming an artist. His brothers introduced him to different genres to help find a new way of going into what he wanted sonically, without destroying his sound altogether. Being a big fan of different genres, he realized that he did not fall into an existing genre, so he created his genre, titled GiZRoK. Now residing in Phenix City, AL, he has been dazzling crowds in the tri-city area with the self-titled genre he created! GiZRoK- (abstract noun): A blend of Hip-Hop rhymes, trap beats, R&B runs, and melodies accompanied by rock distortion. GiZRoK’s latest song, “Confess” is a smooth and expert blend of genres. While instrumentally the project leans in acoustic rock and world music inspired direction, the vocals tip their hat to R&B and the hooks tend to throw in something a little more hip-hop-like. Anthemic and indicative of an artist who knows how to hold an audience’s attention and bring them together in a moment of mesmerizing soundscapes. Though it sounds like an easy listening track from the outside, “Confess” holds an element of depth to much of the writing, which adds a subtle layer of intensity. As an introduction to the artist, “Confess” works quickly and draws you in. GiZRoK creates an ambiance that invites and impresses, then guides you along with inspiring poetry, crystal clear imagery, and a voice loaded with equal parts confidence and absolute character. Check out “Confess” here and catch up with GiZRoK in our exclusive interview below! Hey GiZRoK! Congrats on the release of your new single “Confess”! What does this song represent for you? Confess represents me as a man being honest and true to his feelings. It doesn’t happen often so when it does, I compose music that is hard for some men to say. That’s how I wanted it to represent the men that usually don’t express their feelings. Where is the best setting to listen to “Confess”, and what do you hope people take away from it? With your significant other. If not your significant other, the individual that you have something to say to as well as a Karaoke setting.Hopefully after someone listens to it, they will express themselves and not hide their feelings. The scariest thing in life is missing any opportunity and one way not to miss it, is to express your feelings and say what you have to say. What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? I’m definitely not a hater when it comes to mainstream music today, but there are some songs I can jam out too, but definitely cannot relate to it. The music is catchy. Dissing music now is like dissing music back then, because I am sure that they are saying some of the things we are saying just in a different way. If they like it, I love it. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? I cannot just put one song to display me. Primarily because I go off how I’m feeling at that moment. Every song that I make is going off of the now that I’m feeling. One minute I could be talking about love, the next off the wall, and the next sex. I live for the now when it comes to different songs that I have composed. Only way you will know it’s me is based off my voice and sometimes that changes depending on my feeling and the song.I cannot just put one song to display me. Only way you will know it’s me is based off my voice and sometimes that changes depending on my feeling and the song. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? - EXCLUSIVE: Telephant Graveyard Talks About Their Latest Track "Tired of Me"!
Welcome back guys! We’re loving the Live @ Turbo Haus EP! What was that recording experience like? Hello, again! Thanks so much for having us (again)! This recording process was fairly simple because as the venue, Turbo Haus based here in Montreal, offers a recording package (audio and visual) when you play a show there. So all the bands pitched in and we got recordings of our set from our album launch show for our recently released EP, "3's a Crowd"! We then took our 3 favorite songs from that show and had our buddy Nic Gaumond (same friend who mixed and mastered our EP) mix them. Can you tell us about your new unreleased track “Tired Of Me”? What inspired this song? Will you be releasing it in the near future? "Tired Of Me" is a song that was part of the same batch of songs we wrote for the "3's a Crowd" EP but it didn't make the cut because we felt it didn't fit with those batch of songs, and we wanted to keep it to 6 songs/30mins of music, but we've been playing that songs for years. We figured putting that song, opposed to 3 of the same songs already released on our EP, would be more fun for our LIVE EP. At this point, there's a very high chance it'll be released as a properly recorded single, or at the very least be on our next EP. The song is strongly inspired by the song "Tired Of You" by the Foo Fighters, very similar groove and mood but a bit more involved, instrumentally, and a bit heavier. It sort of has to do with self-deprecation in a sense that you feel guilty about being a bother or burden to those around you. Did you hone your vocal style over time or have you always had a natural ability to sing with rock and roll grit? I'm STILL honing my vocal style haha! To be honest I still don't think I'm that good at singing, I still have a lot of growing do to but my main issue is getting over my nerves before shows, that's what dries up my throat. Now, I always make sure to have water and gatorade with me when playing live, and warming up is KEY! At rehearsal I'm so much more relaxed and have noticed I'm much more clearer and confident. I've improved significantly since starting this band and taking up the role as the lead singer. What's helped me significantly is taking up singing lessons because I'm not a naturally born singer. My main inspirations for wanting to emulate that rough vocal grit (and just singing in general) is due to all those grunge and hard rock singers who convey so much emotion and intensity in their singing. Singers like Dave Grohl, Chris Cornell, Claudio Sanchez, Layne Staley, Axl Rose and Corey Taylor, just to name a few. If someone only has time to check out one song from your collection, which would you recommend and why? That's a tricky one.....it's tricky because all our songs sound so different from one another, no two sound alike. But, I would have to say "Jump". Mainly because it's upbeat, it's loud, it's fun and grabs your attention and has all the things that I like about good rock n' roll: it's makes you want to dance (or jump, ha!), it's catchy, got good screaming and a rippin' guitar solo and breakdown. It's the kind of song you want to blast in your car! If they listened to Black Widow or Curves first, they'd probably think we're a bunch of sad sour pusses haha! What are your thoughts on mainstream music today? It's a very bitter-sweet thing because musicians my age now, unlike older generations, have so many means and tools to make music without the backing and funding of a major big studio or record label and can send it to everyone and anyone in the world with the click of a button. But at the same time there's SO MANY people making music that really have no buinesss making music, and it's diluting what's out there and making it difficult to stand out and get your music heard, so there's actually a lot of superficial ear (and eye) candy garbage out there. There's a lot of mainstream music that I really don't like, but hey I eat McDonalds, so listening to junk is what's needed sometimes for people. What’s the best thing that could happen for you right now as a band? The dream is to be able to make music for a living and quit our day jobs, haha! But, I think what we want is what any musician or band wants: getting a loyal fan base who really dig, understand and appreciate what we do and to tour! Some local bands that we've played shows with in the past, like Ready the Prince and Cleopatrick, are just KILLING it right now and living that dream, and we're so proud of those guys, they work their butts off (please follow and listen to those guys they ROCK!). And I don't mean selling out stadiums, getting platinum records and being on the cover of Rolling Stone magazine (though I wouldn't complain) if we played to crowds of 200 REALLY enthusiastic people, than arenas of 2000 inattentive people on their phones, while touring in a van, selling merch and some CDs and having a good time, we'd be happy as a clam Stay connected with Telephant Graveyard through their social media below! - Exclusive Interview: Hip-Hop Artist Jxhar Releases New Album "Bad Days R Forever"
What’s the overall theme you were trying to achieve with "Bad Days R Forever" Jxhar? The overall theme of this album was everyone has a bad day it's simply inevitable and no one has control of it, However it's up to us to figure out we push through it and prevail. So I gave listeners a look into my life and all the bad days I had to go through and how I got through it. What do you hope your listeners take away from "Bad Days R Forever"? I hope listeners look back at this album and understand that they aren't alone in this world. "Bad Days R Forever" features many collaborations! How did these come about? This album's features were all people that I had never worked with before (besides Darion Harris) that I felt would bring a certain new shine to the album. Every artist honestly brought a different aspect to a bad day and what it felt like to them. If you had to pick just one song in your collection to adequately describe your sound, which song would you choose and why? I would have to pick Motions. Motions best encompasses the different emotions you express through your music. What do you hope to achieve as a hip-hop artist through the end of 2019? I hope to expand my fanbase and keeping putting out more great music. Listen to Jxhar here! - Vancouver Artist Darren Day Talks About His Brand New Album "DAYDREAMS"
Welcome to BuzzMusic Darren Day! We’re loving your album DAYDREAMS! What was the main concept behind this project? Thanks for having me guys! This album came about in a part of my life that wasn’t particularity bright. I had been competing as a professional golfer for 3 years and not performing as well as I’d hoped. Lots of let downs in tournaments and time on the road led me to writing music. It became an outlet for me. I had so many people telling me how hard it was to make it in golf (later on in music as well) how I was wasting my time, and how it would never happen. I decided instead of giving in and letting them kill my vibe I’d write about how dope things would be if I DID make it. That’s how “DAYDREAMS” was born. it’s funny how such a shitty time can turn out to be so key later on. I guess everything happens for a reason. What do you hope your fans take away from your music? My main goal in everything I write is to make sure I have a message, but just as importantly to make sure people can dance to it and have fun. If I’ve done that then I’ve done my job. What does the track “Boat Load” represent for you? Can you dive into the lyrics and tell us the meaning behind it? “Boat Load” is the most lit and absolutely the most recommended song off the album. It’s the encore at my concerts and always my favourite to perform. It represents the journey to success and what comes along the way; love, hate, fame, women, partying, money, and everything in between. The non-apologetic lyrics and constant slap in the beat always gets the crowd moving. It was also inspired after the backlash I got when I dropped the music video to “Coachella.” That’s where the lyric, “dropped a song and people played, comments said they hate it but they went and re played it, *era era* just sayin if the charts come quick I’m a stayin. For real” came from. I wanted to give people a taste of everything on my first album ranging from dance, pop, and hip hop. Rap always remains a constant in my music though, that’s where my hearts at. Which track from DAYDREAMS would you say in the most personal to you? Why? “Get Away” is the definitely the most personal song for me. I come from a small island up on the West Coast of Canada where having a profession out of the ordinary or sometimes even leaving the city at all is extremely rare. People were shocked and not always supportive when I started to pursue music. I found it difficult to block out the noise so I packed up and moved down to Arizona for 6 months and that’s actually where I wrote and produced the majority of “DAYDREAMS. Victoria will always be my home and my favourite place on earth but I’m grateful to have the opportunity to see what else is out there and start new beginnings. How do your haters drive your ambition? Listen to “Hater’s Lullaby” and you’ll know. What do you hope to achieve as an artist going forward? What’s next for you? I hope that the word spreads and people vibe with what I’m doing. I’ve worn my heart on my sleeve since I started this journey and I’m stoked to see where it takes me. As for what’s next I feel like I’m on the right track. I’ve gained a fairly big following here on the west coast of Canada but I’m ready to take it to the next level. Whether it’s starting for someone on tour or a breakout song, I’m open to all things coming my way and I can’t wait to see what happens. Two new singles coming out in the next month and a half as well. Thanks buzz music for the time, hope everyone’s having a great summer. Follow me to stay up to date on what’s new @darrendaymusic. - Elle Krese Shows Honest Artistry And Talent In Debut Album “Written In The Stars”
Elle Krese is a talented singer/songwriter hailing from the Washington, D.C. area. The 16-year-old artist has auditioned and been selected for regional choral groups and she is classically trained. Most recently, on July 2019, she applied and was admitted to the Summer Conservatory at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA) in Los Angeles. In addition to pursuing her passion as a recording artist, she enjoys musical theatre. Most recently, she played Medda Larkin in production of “Newsies.” Her debut album titled “Written In The Stars” was released November 2018, when Elle was only 15! The first track on the album “Written In The Stars” titled “Little Did He Know” showcases the refreshing artist Elle Krese’s eclectic musical stylings. A smooth electronic pop piece, “Little Did He Know” fuses contemporary pop and electronic synths to make this introduction a hit! It talks about Elle’s personal experience and ups and downs of love. The album transitions into “Dear Future Me” and we’re instantly hooked, the quirky retrospective track is hypnotizing and pure. The overall theme of the song is to give your future self helpful advice and empowerment. Elle is inspiring, confident, and extremely self-aware. “Dear Future Me” is a transcendent anthem that highlights Elle’s genre-bending abilities. Next up on the album is “He’s Not My Movie”, a lyrically deep single that focuses on how some aspects of relationships are just a game. Elle Krese recites poetry through flawless lyricism and surprisingly emotive delivery. She fuses dark pop with a contemporary beat to keep us hooked. Elle’s debut album moves into a touching composition titled “Hurricane Soul”. The powerhouse vocalist starts the song with passion and fire burning through the speakers. The R&B vibe to this song blends well with featured artist’s Wess’ prolific verse. “Superhero” is a hypnotizing piano ballad equipped with raw emotion and truth. The composition of multi-layered sounds has me blown away instantly. Elle’s strong vocals complement the piano’s soft and beautiful sound perfectly. The powerful energy is intoxicating throughout this piece but still keeps up with the vibrant pop sound that Elle Krese is known for. Elle’s vocals are consistently polished and timeless. Keeping true to her dramatic, electro-pop, aesthetic Elle Krese’s explosive hit “Robots” comes barrelling through the speakers and we can’t get enough. It’s fresh and melodic and boasts an inspiring summer anthem vibe. The synths in this song are breathtaking, the vocals are once again flawless and the overall audio production is seamless. Upbeat from beginning to end, “Robots” is sure to have you grooving along. The final song on the album “Written In The Stars” is titled “I Miss You”. This song truly highlights Elle’s versatility and emotional maturity as an artist. She wears her heart on her sleeve and turns her poetic words into spectacular songs. Elle has created something so exemplary and finely-calibrated. This debut album is sure to be an absolute success. Elle has the fanbase, talent, ambition, and confidence to rise to the top. Her angelic vocals, emotive lyricism and polished musical arrangements make her an instant legend and the one to watch. Stay tuned! Listen to “Written In The Stars” here! What was the writing process like for this project? I wrote “Superhero” when I was 13 and honestly don’t remember the writing process. I just remember being in a groove and just writing down what I was feeling. I wrote “Dear Future Me” when I was 14 and I drew inspiration from my journal which is a series of letters to my future self. I wrote “Hurricane Soul” when I was 14 as well based on a girl who had been bullying me and I wrote the song as an outlet to let myself know that she was doing it because she didn’t feel good about herself. Then I wrote and recorded the other four songs when I was 15 because I realized I wanted to compile the work I had already done with new material to make a little album. I wrote “Little Did He Know” about a chance meeting with a guy in Michigan, I wrote “He’s Not My Movie” about a boy I used to know and care about who distanced himself emotionally when he found out he was moving away to Georgia, I wrote “Robots” about my old school where everyone acted the same way in order to fit in and I thought that was wrong, and finally, I wrote “I Miss You” about a friend of mine whom I was growing apart from and it was a shout into the abyss between us trying to figure out what was wrong. Overall, the timeline of this project was really spread out and I tended to write all of my songs the same way: hone in on an emotional moment in my life and write to get all of my emotions out. Additionally, after I came up with the general idea and structure of the songs, my producer, Alexi von Guggenberg assisted me in cleaning up or adding to the song. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? I hope that my listeners take away that none of my songs are there just because. I hope they pick up on the fact that my songs are there because they come from a very real story and an even more real place in my heart. What track on the album would you say made you channel the most emotion when creating it? Definitely “I Miss You.” That song is pure emotion stemming from the loss of my best friend from my life and realizing I was alone which was scary. Do you have any upcoming events or shows you’d like to talk about? Not at the moment but I’m looking into more performance opportunities with my manager now.
