- Ambitious And Eclectic Artist Damilleo Drops New Album “Fat & Handsome Vol. 1”
Damilleo began his music career as a singer/songwriter but quickly realized he was not receiving the feedback he had hoped for. That’s when he tried his hand at hip-hop. This artist’s music style would be described as playful, yet free flowing because he can tailor it to match any sound while keeping authenticity. As an artist, Damilleo wants to break stereotypes and challenge the status quo. His goal is to be the most complete entertainer he can be. Damilleo’s latest project “Fat & Handsome Vol. 1” is out now and available on all major streaming platforms. “'Fat & Handsome Vol.1' is inspired by mental health awareness. The project was therapy for me in a sense. that's why I wanted to be as honest lyrically while bridging the gap between old school lyricists and new age artists.” Damilleo manages to impressively walk the line between near-familiarity and freshness on this album. The whole album is centered around psychologist visits, beginning with “Week 1”. This segways into “Gordo” and flickers of recognizable musicality and a classically inspired approach to hip-hop walk hand-in-hand with a new sense of character and a series of contemporary bars, introducing the artist in an increasingly likeable way. The musical brightness and comforting traits of “Free Game” are mesmerizing. Damilleo hits the scene with a smooth style and unquestionable confidence. There’s a level of optimism and energy to the delivery, and indeed to the structure of the track. This project is as impressive musically as it is lyrically and performance-wise. Superb production allows each song to really reach out and grab you. “Week 2” is the inner thoughts of an obviously terrible psychologist. It shows the listener a humorous side of Damilleo through the light-hearted delivery of this concept, but also focuses on heavy subject matter when he says “Does this guy even have money to pay for this?”. Professional help is sometimes only available to people that can afford it, and that’s part of the problem. Though there are a variety of issues and stories touched upon throughout, you do begin to gather a united sense of intention as each track pours through. “Principles” seems to officially kick this off, delving deep into the personal details and experiences that have made up Damilleo’s journey. The track leads with a quickly hypnotic hook and a classic backdrop that tips its hat to the legends of the genre. Damilleo’s lyrics and his emotional delivery really start to captivate here. “Week 3” is this psychologist giving really cynical and awful advice to his patient including “Why don’t you throw a party?” and that takes us into the next hard-hitting track “Petty Party”. Conceptually, things continue to get all the more interesting and unique. Damilleo’s voice sounds powerful, smart and stylish yet also passionate and sincere enough to hold your attention. As the album continues, Damilleo makes sure to keep things musically and topically eclectic, allowing this to feel like a complex and consistently interesting playlist. “Tell Me” redirects things towards a dreamy soundscape and a level of optimism, another powerful story-line works hard to keep things real though. This track furthers the personal touch and the mellow vibe, drawing you in further and building upon that connection with the artist. “Week 4” and we’re back with the psychologist, summarizing week 1-3, to almost boast the insincerity a little further, and lead the listener into the final track on the album “Acceptance”. Leading with a sense of melancholy and self-reflection, a poetic and deeply thoughtful song that seems perfectly well-suited to those late and sleepless nights spent lost in our own minds. A personal favourite for the mellow vibe and the honesty, “Acceptance” is a brilliant hit of escapism that offers a sense of togetherness, potentially helping you overcome feelings of isolation. Damilleo keeps things unquestionably real, and that connects intensely on this record, especially during this final track. The piece acts as a reminder of the impressive lyricism and honesty that runs throughout his work. Superb production and a clear talent for the art-form stand tall at every step on this incredibly eclectic yet firmly rooted and heartfelt project. Check out “Fat & Handsome Vol. 1” here and read more with Damilleo in our interview below! Hey Damilleo! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What does the “Fat & Handsome Vol. 1” album mean to you, and what do you hope people take away from it? FnH was a therapy session for me. It was me coming to terms with the fact that I am not the same person I was back in ’09. I am not the same artist that signed the major songwriting deal anymore. I have kids, businesses and an inside view on how the music business actually operates I went through the 5 stages of grief for the old me during this project. I did that while bridging the gap between the old school and new school. Hip hop has evolved and not many are embracing the new artist the right way. I took the creative OG route. So what I want the listener to take away from FnH is you don’t have to be sick to go to therapy. Also you can be honest on raps and make it sound good. How does this project differ from your previous releases? This EP is different from the rest because I learned a lot about directing and intent musically while writing for others. My older work was mainly me being facetious, but that was my mind-state back then. FnH is my growth and my eagerness to share my experiences. Nobody wants to admit that they lost $1 million dollars and went from a car collection to walk everywhere. I just want to give the listener my story. How do you come up with the story-lines and concepts for your songs? My storylines and concepts always begin with personal experiences. Then the point I want to make in the song. Which comes first, music or lyrics? Lyrics. I’m always writing. I co produce most of my work. However sometimes I'll get inspired by an instrumental. Usually the beat dictates my direction. What inspired the writing of “Fat & Handsome Vol. 1”? The inspiration for FnH is my first time going to therapy, mental health awareness, as well as financial literacy. Knowing how much heart has gone into it, how does it feel when you listen back? I feel relieved. I feel confident. I feel ready to hit any live stage. What are your hopes for your career? I hope to keep making music at a high level and progressing. I hope to bring my style of HipHop to as many people as possible. I hope I can mentor the next generation of creators. - BuzzMusic Interviews Jay Bird!
Hey Jay Bird! Welcome back to BuzzMusic! Can you tell us about your upbringing? How did you get started in music? So, getting started with singing and songwriting sort of happened slowly for me. I started my music career with band in middle school and high school. I only sang a bit on the side. I didn’t even stay in choir consistently until my last years of high school, and I never finished writing an entire song until the end of senior year. But once I found my ukulele and I started to learn more about songwriting everything else sort of fell into place. I’ve been in love with it ever since. Can you dive into details about the lyricism in “More Time” and “On My Own? What inspired both of these songs? More time was written in a time of great confusion in my life. Confusion about my direction, my mental health, my physical health, and just life in general. I was defiantly feeling like there was not enough time in our lives to truly figure everything out. I mean I was thinking about all the folklore and fiction and shows that obsess about this human desire for immortality or even just an extended existence. So I wrote this song just about that fear of moving forward for lack of time among other things. Where is the best setting to listen to your songs, and what do you hope people take away from them? On my Own was actually a collaboration between a friend of mine, Wesley Collins, in high school. We wanted to write the song from the perspective of two people in a relationship who had their own ideas about how the it was going. One is confident they have too much to live for and they need to be on their own to thrive, and the other feels they can only thrive with the other by their side. In the end, the roles switch and the one who was hurting is now strong and confident and happy on their own and the other is regretting throwing away a good thing and wishing they weren’t on their own anymore. What was it like to collaborate with Emaline Duquette!? We are in love with the harmonies you two created! I think the best settings to listen to my songs would be in any area where you have time or you want to relax. Maybe sitting down for coffee in the morning, on the car or bus ride to work, or relaxing in bed in the evening before you turn in. I really want my listeners to be happy with my music, but in all honesty my intentions are almost never to give them anything specific to learn or feel or take away. I try to leave my music open to interpretation so that the listeners can take what they need from it at whatever point in their life they are at. At the same time, I also try to express what I am feeling at that moment and it is nice to hear when people pick up on that from listening as well. What are your main aspirations as an artist going forward? So, the song; On My Own, was a project I loved so much that I new I had to do something with it. As soon as I got the opportunity to record, I knew I had to make something of it. However, it took me five years to find another artist who truly does the song the justice it deserves. I came across this young artist; Emaline Duquette from Athens Ohio at the local open mic at Donkey Coffee and I knew instantly that she was right for the song. She is such at young talent and yet she sings like a professional. Her Vocals are almost as strong as her attitude and the maturity of her voice matches that of herself. It’s astonishing. When we recorded she was so prepared and professional. She was a blast to work with and I really hope she does great things with music in the future. My main aspirations as an artist, and why I recently moved to California, would be just to perform, create, and collaborate as much as possible. I just want my whole life to be immersed in music. - Warren Skane Is Back With New Music!
Welcome back to BuzzMusic Warren Skane! How was it growing up in Australia? Is there a heavy music scene there in which you were inspired by? Growing up in Australia was fantastic! The weather here in Perth is world class with heaps of sun and clear blue skies. Musically my heavy rock influences come from early and current AC/DC songs.Motley Crue and Guns N' Roses feature heavily as well in my inspiration and direction.I love those bands. We need more bands like that coming through now. Knowing you released your latest albums “2020 vision” and “Intoxicate”, in what ways have your artistry developed and essentially elevated since your first album “Relentless”? I think i'm more aware of how to develop my sound to be exactly how i want it.For an example the song 'Sleep Paralysis' from my Intoxicate album is very dark and was quite complex to put together. The end result blew my away.I was very happy with the video clip i made for it too!I'm getting lot's of airplay on local radio here in Perth and all over Australia through Amraps Airit Program! Which album would you say was the most challenging to create? “2020 Vision” or “Intoxicate”?I'd have to say 'Intoxicate'.The reason being as it's a more complex, darker album than '2020 Vision'.I had to make sure all guitar, bass, drums and vocals blended together to create the sound i was looking for.2020 Vision was much smoother as it came together quicker and is a more upbeat sounding album which i'm also very proud of! Let’s talk about your single “Gonna Break Ya”. What inspired you to write this? What’s the main meaning behind the passionate lyricism? Gonna Break Ya is about trying to deal with life's everyday stresses and challenges. It touches on depression and being pushed to the point where you don't know how to deal with it anymore. When your mind finally says 'That's it, I've had enough'.The main message is that we really don't understand or know how this all came to trouble us in the first place! It's not our fault but we want answers for it.It can be used in a positive way if we all come together and support each others mental health and well being. What’s next for you Warren Skane? I'm really trying to get my music into TV/Film,Netflix etc.So if anyone reading this can help me achieve that i'd be very grateful. As for new material i'm always coming up with new loops and samples to keep me busy.I love producing my own work and enjoy the freedom of making the sound i want without someone telling me to change it to suit someone else. - Getting To Know Nathan Ballard
Hey Nathan! It's great you had a moment to catch up with us here at BuzzMusic! What have you been up to musically since we last had you on here? I recently was able to drum and star for a audemars pigue commercial which was a huge honor to have and I had an incredible time. I also made a new track called Best In Me with a lyric video which was something that I have never previously done before and it was such a fun challenge. I also act and I worked on short with a very sweet Director who wants to have me help compose music for upcoming projects with her so I am really looking forward to getting that started. We know from previously having you on here that music is a true and ultimate passion for you, and you've known this since you were very young! Can you try and describe the connection you feel with your music, and how you try to communicate that with listeners? The connection I feel is almost like my soul leaves my body and makes its way to the instruments and lyrics. I really stay connected to each song I write and emotion that I am experiencing. The best songs are the ones that I can relate to, feel, and go wow I know exactly what that person is going through. I want to do that for others as well. I want to let myself free and express it through songs. If I can just help, inspire, or motivate one person I feel I’ve done what I want to do ultimately, is help people. Helping people in any way shape or form is what really makes me feel alive. Music is one avenue that I want to use because it connects to the soul to one another. I think this is why sometimes people favor artist almost as if they are their friend because the artist spoke so much volume in their lyrics that really resonates with human beings and human connection. "Looking At You" is a very raw and alternative sound. Was it hard writing this song, considering your personal emotional connection to it? Thank you for the compliment I truly appreciate it. This song actually wasn’t hard for me. It was this inner peace that I felt towards everything because to be honest I was angry and heartbroken at first and it really took a toll on me initially. This song for me was about making peace with that and really embracing any human connection we get to experience whether it's permanent or just for a small window of time. This song for me was being able to move on and grow because if I hadn’t met her and gone through everything I wouldn’t be the person I am today and I am internally grateful towards her for that. What would you say is the most elemental aspect of your music? I really love pop punk and I really love dark 80s bands. I really try to put those two together to create a unique sound. I also try to disregard all the rules and not be afraid to experiment and try new things. I believe its so much better to try and for lack of a better word suck than to not try at all. Because at least you have something that sucks and that will always triumph over not trying at all and wondering what if. And we all start somewhere and the beauty is we keep getting better and better. So we must keep trying and believe ourselves because for the most part the world is already against us, we need to be kind to our hearts and minds and believe in ourselves. We all deserve it. What kinds of things are in the future for you as an artist? Are you performing anywhere?! To keep going and never quit, so that way I’ll never have to look back and wonder what if. My biggest fear in life is Regret and probably snakes. Since I do everything on my own it's challenging on how to figure out how to make this come alive to a show. But if there is a will there is a way, and there always is a way. That's my next course of action beside creating more songs. - Getting To Know Caleb Bowser
Welcome back to BuzzMusic Caleb?! Finally we can catch up with you and your music! "Crazy for You" was your latest release, how did the production go for the track? I'm so glad to be back! Yeah, production on "Crazy for you" was unique. I usually start with the beat and drums, but with this song I started with the synth that plays throughout the entire song. With that one climbing synth, the rest of the song came to be. It was so cool and fun to create a song with one core element, and the rest of the instruments coordinate around it. There's that clear and straightforward raw element to your music, and inevitably "Crazy for You". Would you say that the raw aspect is integral to your music? Thank you for saying that! I don't know if it's integral for my music, but I'm glad it shines through. I want the message to be heard and I want the listener to enjoy the song. I think the more raw aspect just fits my voice and that's why it sounds like that. But I'm glad you said that, because that means my music sounds unique, which means a lot. As a singer/songwriter who produces his own music, how do you find you have an advantage producing your own tracks? An advantage I have for producing my own music is I can have my vision for the song come out exactly how I want it. "Crazy for You" is very rock and indie influenced, which I feel fits the lyrical content. The song is about being too much for somebody but in a good way. So having the guitar play and have multiple me's singing "I'M TOO CRAZY FOR YOU" ... it just works so well. But having my vision coming out exactly how I want is a great advantage. Can you try and explain the connection you feel that you have with your music? How do you project this connection through your music, to your listeners? I don't know if there are words to describe the connection between me and music. It's a strong, fragile, and fun connection. I love making music, so I care a lot about it. It capture's how I'm feeling about a situation, and it last's forever. It will forever be a way to express my feelings, whether the situation is big or small. For my listeners, I have the music a certain tone. Whether it's fun or serious depends on the lyrics, which I write so my listeners can relate. Can we expect to see any upcoming releases or shows from you throughout the rest of 2019?! For the rest of 2019, I might release another song that's apart of a bigger project coming next year ... maybe. If the song doesn't come out, now everyone knows there is another project coming really soon, which will include "Crazy for You". But definitely next year there will be new music, it's just a waiting game. Connect with Caleb Bowser on social media www.instagram.com/caleb_bowser4 www.twitter.com/CalebBowser1
- Check Out “Grizzy Bop” By Griz Gusto Of Mass Money Entertainment
Griz Gusto is an exclusive member of the rap group Mass Money Entertainment. Griz was born and raised in Waltham, MA/Orlando, FL. Despite being born in Waltham, Grizʼs roots run deep into the Caribbean islands. Born to two Haitian parents, he proudly claims and represents the Haitian- American community. His earliest music inspirations were Biggie and Lil Wayne. He was mind blown by Biggieʼs flow and style. Since then, he fell in love with hip-hop and the culture. Griz Gusto is considered to be the most versatile of the group. He prides himself on his versatility which makes him unpredictable on the mic, giving him an edge over todayʼs new artists. Griz Gusto’s next project, “Asylum”, will be dropping on Halloween 2019! “Grizzy Bop” starts with a familiar scene from the classic TV show, Dexter's Laboratory then quickly explodes into a heavy beat. Griz’s leading voice meanders through the various sections in a flawless way, moving from that initial mellow aura to something impressively quick and still skillfully in tune with the natural movement of the music. As an introduction to his work, “Grizzy Bop” makes for a strong starting point. There’s a certain tone and overall quality to the voice and indeed the manner in which the lyrics are delivered. Everything feels fresh and loaded with just enough personality to make it easily recognizable. There’s an intensity to the performance, an appreciation for the good times, which reflects and reinforces the song’s underlying sentiment and the whole late-night party vibe in general. Check out “Grizzy Bop” here and keep scrolling for more with Griz Gusto Welcome to BuzzMusic Griz Gusto! Can you tell us all about this track “Grizzy Bop”? What was the writing process like? First and foremost, thank you for having me! It’s truly an honor. Grizzy Bop was inspired by this little dance that I always do when I’m out having a good time, catching a vibe. It’s my go to dance, especially when I’m really diggin the music that’s playing hahah. As far as the writing process is concerned I really wanted this track to be a hit song that got everyone to do my dance, like the milly rock for instance. I also wanted to really deliver with my lyrics so I wasn’t boxed in as that type of artist. A one and done type. You have a really versatile and unique style, how long have you been making music? I really appreciate that and take pride in being versatile. I’ve been making music for 14 years now. I consider myself a hybrid because I feel I can do a little bit of everything and I’m not afraid to showcase that. Can you tell us more about your much anticipated project “Asylum”? Asylum is an EP I’m dropping Halloween night. This will actually be my second drop this year, I dropped my debut album “Talk to Me” on Easter Sunday. This project I will be giving my fans something a little different. Asylum will have more of a fall/winter feel to it, in the sense where it’ll be more gritty/east-coast rap. Their might even be a big name or two you recognize on the track list. You’ll have to wait and see! What do you hope your listeners take away from your music? I hope my listeners use me as an escape. I aim to make music that you can turn to for whatever mood you’re in. I think my fans will appreciate that because not only does it keep them coming back but it’ll also give the haters something to talk about. What is it about making music that draws such passion from you? Making Music is not so much a passion of mine as it is more instinctual. Like a baby bird getting dropped from the nest when the mother bird feels it is ready to fly. Then in that moment, there you have it the bird is off to go on it’s own journey. I’m that bird in many ways, I don’t do music because it’s just a cool hobby and it’s another revenue stream, I do it because it’s a part of me. I was literally born for this. - Indite Teams Up With Maddisun To Release The Eye-Opening “Vision”
Indite is a positive impact hip-hop artist with roots spanning across the Kootenays. He uses his musical platform to share his life and lessons as a husband, father and outdoor enthusiast. Indite has grown his platform and solidified his style through social media verse videos where he speaks on current events and things that he feels are important to shed light on. With six years of sobriety under his belt he continues to be open with his stories from the past while working to have a positive impact on the future. He is set to release his newest EP “Ghost Town Roads” early September 2019. Indite continues to use his music to bring people together, make new connections and break down barriers. “Vision” Ft. Maddisun (another BuzzMusic favorite), is the latest track we’re bumping through the office. Indite pours his absolute truth into the process, making a genuine performance out of the whole thing. There’s a quickly memorable and gorgeously ambient soundscape and song running alongside of it. That beat and that hook stay with you long after listening, that groove and that sense of positivity and optimism is powerful. In between these moments, contrast works its magic with Maddisun’s sultry vocals fuses with Indite’s hard hitting bars. “Vision” gets inescapably real, letting turmoil and desperation collide and collaborate to offer up something incredibly raw and seemingly unedited. It’s captivating, and that hook section resolves beautifully. Not only is the song brilliantly put together, it’s fascinating, it sees Indite open up from the offset and be fully himself. The song’s concept is represented flawlessly in everything from the lyrics to the general mood it gifts the listener. I’m excited to hear where else the music takes Indite in the coming months and years. Listen to “Vision” Ft. Maddisun here and read more with Indite below! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started making music? How old were you? I started writing hiphop when I was 14. It started out with poetry and the fascination for piecing together rhyming words. Not long after I started exploring placing these writing on beats and freestyling. What makes you so passionate about music? Music has always been a way for me to process things I am going through. Whether I am writing my own or relating to other artists songs. There really is an artists or genre for every mood. If you think of some of the most pivotal points in your life I bet there are songs that can take you back there, or tracks that helped you through. For me, it's about writing to process struggle or celebrate triumphs and share it because I know I'm not the only one. Can you tell us more about your track “Vision”? What is the meaning behind the lyrics? Vision is exactly that, the vision I have while creating music. This tracks is about breaking boundaries down, coming together, working with one another to create something amazing. We are all so easily accessible now through social media and whatnot, this is a reminder to find people on the same wave and have a positive impact. Use the tools you have to spread your messages and help pick people up. What was it like collaborating with Maddisun? First off, I gotta give all the credit to my amazing Wife for making this connection. She mentioned the two of us should combine forces on a track. I feel like for both of us the pieces of this track came together extremely easy. When I got the beat from Radin at brmusic I knew exactly what I wanted to do with it. And I feel like when I sent my pieces to Maddisun she felt the same. This was a dope case of every artists feeding off what the artist before them created and adding a piece of their own style. What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned through music so far? For me, it took a long time to find my style, my niche, myself as an artist. As I imagine it does for a lot of artists starting out. We all integrate pieces and styles of things that influence us from other artists we listen to. When I was in middle school, I wrote very DMX-ish haha. So I think the biggest thing I learned is to put your time in, find your sound. Trust me, you will know when you do. Once you do, everything else seems to fall in place. When you create from the most authentic place in yourself you make connections with people that are authentic as well. Shout out the homie MCBC, I met one of my favourite people in the world through this. Connect with Indite on social media www.instagram.com/indite__
- Getting To Know Young Socrates
Welcome back to BuzzMusic Young Socrates! How has the journey been for you so far as an artist? What specific trials and tribulations you’ve faced that has essentially served you beneficial lessons for your career? My career has been all over the place like I told y'all the last interview being independent puts a lot of pressure on your back noticed that a lot of the people around me weren't willing to put in the work it takes to get to the next level. I stopped making music and for the summer, I felt like I needed a rapid change of scenery so I packed up and moved to Arizona. I put out energy before the big move as a reminder for what I need to come back to. Arizona was a life changer for me I met a lot of cool people and learned a lot about myself. Let’s talk about the release of your single “Energy”. This song was a killer! What ultimately inspired you to create this single and why? Energy is a survivors song it's a song about never giving up and pushing through the bull shit and that's what my next ep is mostly about. I needed a change from my previous release so I locked in with my buddies from my group real names only, the producer Je$$ made the magical beat in like 12 minutes on my laptop and Jett tha kid recorded the most honest rap verses in the history hip-hop. I love collaborating because it always makes for a better product and energy is easily one of my better songs because of that. Who would you consider one of your main influences for your artistry? In what ways have they inspired you? Were there any major changes in “Energy” from your previous releases? Less cluttered, more singing, brighter and more a familiar pop chords. the music is less edgy and more traditional my next project is going to be a lot easier to digest than the last one. The vibe is also a lot more positive than all my previous songs, I was in a dark place when made kill the gods and I fill like my next project needs to be the exact opposite of what kill the gods was. I think energy is the perfect start to this new chapter of my life. What can our readers expect from Young Socrates this fall? - Catching Up With Bree Whitworth On Her Latest Single "Don't Let Me Go"!
Welcome back Bree! Your new release “Don’t Let Me Go” is beautiful! What emotions did you have to channel when creating this single? Thank you so much for having me back and for your kind words about my new single! It was a very different writing experience as I wrote it from the other person’s perspective in regards to what happened during our tumultuous relationship. So I was really channeling two sets of feelings – my own actual hurt and anger at what transpired and his remorse/regret over his behavior and actions. By the end, it almost felt like I had written his apology for him (which I still haven’t gotten IRL…lol). Can you dive into some details about some of your favorite lyrics within “Don’t Let Me Go”? My favorite lyrics start off the second verse ‘No words to describe all we’ve lived’ because it is almost impossible to describe exactly what happened during that relationship – I’m sure no one would even believe half of it if I told them! But I also think because I experienced so much in such a short period of time, it just felt like a lifetime rolled into 2 short years. But then I also like the follow up verse ‘No need to deny we’ll get over it’ because eventually, life goes on - we move on, we find new love, new experiences and all those past emotions and memories just start to become a blur. What can your fans expect from your much anticipated EP “Siren Songs”? When is the release date? They can expect to be taken on a journey from heartbreak to healing. The first songs on the album start out with sadness, anger and despair but as you progress to the last couple of songs they are literally and lyrically about letting go and moving on. Plus listeners will get a special bonus remix of Don’t Let Me Go (by Shamus Musik) with the full album release on Friday, September 13th! Yup, Friday the 13th just felt right. You’re quoted as saying, “Writing this album allowed me to realize that despite all the pain, I still had hope and I still believe in love.” Is the entire EP based on your real life experiences? Mostly, yes although my final single ‘Good Wife’ is about someone very dear to me, not my own personal experience. We were having an emotional conversation one day when she said out of the blue ‘I was a good wife’ and those four words sparked the start of that song. Whether it is about my life or those near to me, I’ve always written from the heart. Is live performance an important part of your plans, and if so, what would a live show look like? I am so excited to get back out performing again! I have an upcoming show in Vancouver on September 18th at the Railway Club with a great lineup of musicians. People can expect a truly intimate and genuine performance. I like to really connect with my audience and the best part is that they will get to hear songs not only from my current release but also from some of my previous music projects as well. A strong leap forwards for VonDon, following a string of impressive musical achievements to date. The one to watch! Check out “Party” here and keep scrolling for more with VonDon. Hey VonDon! How do you manage to successfully run your production company and create relevant and contemporary content so consistently? Time management and scheduling things out plays a big role in being able to keep things running smoothly and consistently. Honestly it's easy to get off track or procrastinate, especially when you're balancing so many different things. Sometimes one aspect gets more attention than the others. So keeping a tight schedule and planning things out helps. As far as the relevant and contemporary part we kinda just do our thing. The music really just comes natural, it's genuine and true to us. Of course we stay tuned into the industry, social media and whats going on in the world, that helps kinda give a perspective of direction. Overall though it's us, everything you see and hear is First Row. Staying consistent is just a team effort. We all push each other to stay on our Ps and Qs. We genuinely love music and what we do so it isn't too much of a hassle. Music feels less like a job when you really love and enjoy it. Who are your top three musical influences and why? Nipsey Hussle definitely influences me a lot in many different ways. We're from the same city so everything he talks about pretty much hits home for me. Seeing him go from selling Cds on the street to owning many different business ventures is inspiring. It showed me that the limits of an artist are endless and there's more than just getting a hit record. Tory Lanez is on the list as well. Creatively his work is just astonishing to me. Ive been listening to him since he was around 16 or so. The growth is amazing. Now his music sounds so polished and perfected. He's Definitely an amazing creative. Big Sean is super dope. The way he experiments with lyrics and flows has always been crazy. His Dark sky Paradise album really did it for me. Tell us about your song “Party”! What inspired this? Truthfully it was just a vibe. I was up at like 3am going through beats from Cosa. I wanted to do something different then i normally make, something that felt a little more slow motion. Once i heard the beat i knew it was perfect. I started vibing to it and the record went from there. I believe i had it sitting on my hard drive for about a year. I still love the record to this day though. What would be your dream venue to perform? I wanna say the Staples Center. Thats home and it fits 21,000 people. That would be amazing to sell out. But truthfully whatever venues holds the biggest crown, thats my dream. How does the music you make now compare to when you first started making music? It's a lot more polished now, better executed, more professional. Especially now that i mix my own music i'm a lot more creative. It's Definitely more mature. Overall i think its just better in every aspect. Im loving the new me. Access VonDon's socials below for the latest on his music! Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic
