  • Pavy Collaborates With Seungrae To Drop Powerful Track, “Jungle Juice”

Raised in four countries around Africa, and born to French-American parents, Pavy utilizes hip-hop to help explore his many questions of home, self, life, and love. His experiences growing up as an expatriate child in the Third World provide unique stories of adversity, but also tales of what he considers our world's most beautiful continent. Always known as the loudest kid in the room growing up, Pavy is now clearly after the Loudest-Man-On-The-Mic award. The energy and bounce of “The Joker” EP is aggressively contagious. Listen for yourself. Featured on the “The Joker” EP is the loud testimonial track, “Jungle Juice” Ft. Seungrae. The whole thing offers a certain simplicity that lets each layer of individuality shine through. The melodic xylophone in the backdrop adds a hint of something culturally diverse and the beat holds close to an industrial trip hop vibe. The vocals of both Pavy and Seungrae present a back and forth set-up that works subtly but surely towards keeping you involved and interested right the way through. The more you hear of “Jungle Juice”, the more likeable it becomes. There’s a musical freedom to it, a creative expression at its core that’s been confidently united with the entrancing rhythms of modern hip hop. “Jungle Juice” introduces character and musicianship in equal parts, and it makes sure you walk away with that key line running through your mind. Check out “Jungle Juice” here and read more below in our exclusive interview. Welcome to BuzzMusic! In your own words, what does “Jungle Juice” represent for you? What inspired this track? Jungle Juice is, simply put, an honest response to the wild instrumental producer Bryden Veinot provided me. I remember hearing the beat for the first time: I was in bed just waking up, and the bounce of the track literally had me jump out of the sheets and dance around my room. The vibe of it all led me straight into this inner jungle where I captured the images and poured them onto paper. Considering that I was raised in Africa and that my father was a wildlife-conservationist, animals and "the bush" are a huge part of my upbringing and I tried to put as much of that into JJ as I could. What do you hope listeners take away from this release? I really hope that people who hear my EP realize how possible and fulfilling it is to be different. Many times throughout this project I was terrified of the release, of opening myself up and making extreme statements like I do. My sound isn't like anything in hip-hop right now and I can either choose to see that as a positive or a negative; I've always been different (my background, my environment, my story, my character) but I think that's where my sense of confidence comes from. Nobody is exactly like anybody else; find what makes you special and harness that energy. What are your main aspirations as an artist right now? I guess I would narrow it down to two main objectives: One is exposure; I have thousands of friends, fans, and family who support my music but because I've moved around my entire life my fanbase is equally spread out, which makes it tough for me to sell out my shows in Vancouver. So right now my biggest goal is to expose myself in the city that I'm in. Two is artistic growth; I've always been very vocal growing up. Very loud, versatile in my tonality, funny accents, you could even say flamboyant. Considering that I'm not much of a musical creator (I have producers and engineers for that), my job is to use my voice as the lead instrument in my music. As of now I think I am capable of much more than I have displayed and I just need to experiment more with my voice. The next project will display that effort and I'm very excited. Was this your first time collaborating with Seungrae? Can we expect future collaborations? No it was not. Funny enough, Seungrae and I met in freshman year of college at UBC where we frequently smoked weed and made music together. That is also where we met Sound of Kalima members Salil Verma and Peter James. We knew right away that we all had a passion and innate talent worth chasing, so we did. Previous collaborations between Seungrae and I include: Consequences, Harder, and Hoes. I don't doubt there will be more to come from the two of us. What’s the overall theme of your EP “The Joker”? The overall theme is hysterics. The extreme highs and lows. I use music as a source of therapy and self expression, and I don't find it very interesting if the music doesn't discuss pressing issues. Growing up in Africa the way I did, I was surrounded by so many elements that left me wondering "Why Me?" I've had plenty of luxuries as well as obstacles in my life and those are the things I believe art should be made of. • Dynamic Duo Hopkins Release Dreamy-Pop Track Walk Away / Wish You Well

Hopkins is an eclectic collaborative duo formed by LA based musicians, Johannes Gritschacher and Connor Sullivan. They’ve toured the world as a backing band for numerous major label signed artists including Olivia O’Brien, Melanie Martinez, Liz Phair, Ryan Beatty. Connor and Johannes discovered a creative outlet writing and producing music together, that in result, became Hopkins. Hopkins consists of organic, ambient harmonies and melodies weaved together by a modernistic, electronic attitude that reflects an honest and minimalist sound that is approachable while also keeping integrity and authenticity in tact. Currently residing in Los Angeles, California, Hopkins plans to release more singles over the upcoming months and are building a  steady growing fan base that connect with their fresh and conceptually relatable sound. “Walk Away / Wish You Well” begins with the ambient, cinematic and multi-layered tones. Hopkins leads with a dreamlike delicacy, calming rhythms, and smooth, characterful leading vocals that adds a definite touch of recognizability to their work. Lyrically there’s plenty to consider here. The lyrics have a certain profound level of awareness and depth, offering honesty and vulnerability, and this is easy to connect with and feel understood by. “Walk Away / Wish You Well” holds on to those confusing and unorthodox feelings after a breakup with a more melancholic, dreamy vibe. The vocal stands back a little, the instrumental details rain down around you, and lyrical fragments of love and reflection weave in and out of the mix. It’s a fantastic addition to Hopkins repertoire. Listen to “Walk Away / Wish You Well” here and read more with Hopkins below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Hopkins! We love your sound. Can you tell us more about your upbringing into music? How did you get started? Thanks so much! We both have been musically active from really early ages, and that continued all the way up to both of us going to Music schools after graduating high school, those being Berklee College of Music in Boston and the Los Angeles College of Music in Pasadena. How do you feed your passion for music everyday? We are both instrumentalists who tour with other artists and bands, so practicing as well as constantly learning new material for gigs is a major way we feed that every day. And on top of that, we’re always writing/producing our own stuff as well as collaborating with other artists and musicians, so we try to fill our days doing one if not all of those. Another big thing that feeds our passion is just listening to new music that is dropping every day. EveryHopkins session usually starts with us trading new tunes or artists that we’ve been listening to and that really inspires where we go and what we write. Your song “Walk Away / Wish You Well” is amazing! We love the lyrics and melody. What inspired this song? Thank you! We have been really excited about releasing this one. This song is inspired by a couple different things really. We came up with the guitar riff in this portable green room trailer in the dead of summer at a festival in New York a couple years back. We took a voice memo of it and didn’t touch it for a while after that until earlier this year. We then built the beat and arranged the rest of the song solely off of that loopy guitar part. The lyrics are inspired by a break up, and we tried to convey a story of how a relationship started and ultimately ended. The song feels like 2 parts to us, first shaping the walking away aspect of after things ended and then after the dust settles, wishing that person well and to find happiness in life. It felt very unorthodox writing these seemingly sad lyrics to an up beat progression and groove, but I think that is what we ended up loving most about this song. A very unassuming breakup anthem. What’s your favorite part of the song, lyrically or sonically? I think we dorked out most over the bridge and the ending. We really tried to not hold anything back and add whatever we felt like adding. It was challenging at first, but once we threw caution out the window, we ended up adding strings, horns and a choir of voices to support the lead vocals which took the song down a much more serious, melancholic road. As the song plateaus at the end, a new piano hook is introduced that completely re-shapes the attitude and heart of the message that is being conveyed. What’s next for you? We are getting ready to mix our next single that we will be releasing soon. This one is much more upbeat and in your face than the others. Other than that we are getting back to the grindstone, trying to write and create as much as we possibly can! • Courtney Cole Is Headed In The “Right Direction” With Her New Single

A finely tuned artist with a pop sensibility and a playfully sassy attitude, Courtney Cole was born in Mandeville, Louisiana in 1987. Growing up only 20 minutes from New Orleans, Cole soaked up a rich variety of music. After completing college, she enrolled at Belmont University, where she majored in commercial voice. By this time, Courtney was also writing songs, but given the large number of gifted tunesmiths at Belmont, she wasn't yet inclined to share her work with others. Cole landed an internship with Black River Entertainment, a record company and publishing house, and while she rose through the company's ranks while learning the nuts and bolts of the music business, she never lost her desire to perform. Fast forward to present day, Courtney Cole has an impressive repertoire of singles and EP under her belt. Her passion for music has never wavered and her dedication to crafting spectacular music is endless. Courtney’s latest release titled “Right Direction” sets the mood and blows the roof off, all at once. Showcasing piano work second to none and a clear love for connection to the genre, “Right Direction” makes for a stunning and bright ballad that lights up the room. Courtney’s vocals keep the sound crisp and clean but lead with a vulnerable realness. All of these elements paint a clear picture of Courtney as an artist and a songwriter. There’s a definite sense of personality that’s easy to recognise in the vocal tone and in the sheer, uninhibited outpouring of thoughts. Her style feels like music as therapy, for herself, and subsequently it may work for those who are going through similar personal difficulties or seeking to overcome a difficult situation. “Right Direction” is undoubtedly a project that speaks to today’s generation of music fans and lost artists. It’s an anthem for those searching for understanding or a place to feel calm and welcome. A spectacular single, I look forward to hearing more from Courtney Cole! Listen to “Right Direction” here and keep scrolling for more with this talented artist! Hi Courtney, welcome to BuzzMusic! We are in love with your new song “Right Direction”. How long has this project been in the making? Thank you! I started writing Right Direction shortly after I moved to California, which has been about a year a a half ago! My producer, Cameron Stymeist and I have been working over the last several months to get it just right! We can tell that you’ve put a lot of emotion into “Right Direction” What does it mean to you to finally share this song with the world? Yes, Right Direction came to me at a time where I was completely humbled after facing a lot of challenges.. I knew I was headed in the right direction, but it felt like I couldn’t find the next step. The uncertainty was intimidating, and I that’s where the emotion stems from. To share this little piece of my soul with the world feeling incredibly healing. If you had to choose just one song to represent your sound right now, for those with limited time, which would you suggest and why? I would choose Right Direction, actually. It’s emotional, honest, healing, and cinematic. Those are all elements I would use to describe my sound right now. How do you get started when writing a new song, and how do you know when it’s truly finished and ready to be shared? Recently, I’ve been writing a lot of lyrics.. in more of a poetic form. Once I have a solid lyric, I turn my voice recorder on, and usually try to capture the first melody that I come up with because that’s usually the one that’s most special... it’s the one that’s not over thought or over tweaked. I know that it’s finished when it captures the emotional response that I intend for it to create. That’s the most important part, in my opinion. What do you hope people take away from “Right Direction”? I want everyone to know that it’s ok to not have the answers. I think a lot of people perceive vulnerability as weakness, and in my opinion, it is the epitome of strength. It’s been the times when I’m most vulnerable that I trust myself the most...when I’m honest with myself and where I’m at in my life. When you become self aware, you start to hear your inner guidance, and allow it to lead you, and it makes the uncertainty a lot less scary. Being able to look at yourself on a deep level is hard.. it’s insanely brave. Check out more on Courtney and her music through her social media below: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Zacarias Pours His Heart And Soul Into “House Of Love”

Zacarias is a Philippine-born Canadian singer/songwriter and musician from Calgary, AB. He has written songs and produced records for several R&B, Pop, and Hip-hop artists in the Calgary music scene. He is influenced by several styles and blends R&B vocals with smooth, mellow, head-bopping sounds. Zacarias currently releases at least one song every month, featuring all new music in 2019. “House Of Love” brings optimism, a moment of beautiful melody and a spectacular new ballad from Zacarias. “House Of Love” delivers a level of honesty and openness, that vulnerability and truth that’s never held back. The intense piano ballad is heart-warming and features rhythmic vocals that lift things up into a more energetic realm. All of this paints a clear picture of Zacaris as an artist and a songwriter, there’s a definite sense of personality that’s easy to recognise in the vocal tone and in the sheer, uninhibited outpouring of thoughts. His style feels like music as therapy, for himself, and subsequently it may well work effectively for those who are going through similar personal thoughts and form connections with his listeners. Check out “House Of Love” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with Zacarias. Hey Zacarias! Loving the new release! What was the general reaction you were hoping for from listeners? I hope that people's spirits are lifted from House of Love. And that it gives the motivation to build a place of peace, hope, or purpose in their lives. It's a healing type of song and was made to help others through challenging times. What’s your writing process like? Most of it begins with the muses; they present words, melodies, feelings, or thoughts that are quite intriguing to me. Oftentimes, nonsensical to what I'm doing at the time. I write this down somewhere or try to remember it in my head as soon as possible. If I have the whole concept already, I finish the song then and there. Otherwise, I throw it in the catalogue and come back to it later. In a matter of minutes, weeks, or months, I work it out until it's ready to record. If you could play any venue or event in the world, which would it be, and why? Selling out a Madison Square Garden show has always been a dream of mine. Many of my heroes have played there as well. To me, playing and selling out MSG would be a sign that I've reached a very important milestone in my career. People could think I'm crazy, but I think I can do it. Where do you imagine the best setting is to experience your track “House Of Love”? Go to a space of mediation. That could be your favorite park, a church, a mosque, your bedroom, a mountain top, or a coffee shop. Or maybe while you're taking the dog for a walk. House of Love is best experienced in a place of mental stillness, with little disturbances around. What’s next for you – what do you have planned creatively throughout the rest of 2019? I've decided that releasing an EP or Album won't do me as much good. So every month, the plan is to release at least one song. It could be something I wrote a year ago or an hour ago. I think doing this is more exciting for me and my fans and I can't wait for people to see what my team and I have to offer. • Runaway Mornings Places You In An Atmospheric Trance With His Latest Single “Weigh Me Down”

Runaway Mornings released his latest single titled “Weigh Me Down” and we were effortlessly taken back by their crisp indie-instrumentation and dream-like vocals that completely elevates you into a state of relaxation and mental exploration. But did we expect any less from Runaway Mornings? Who is known to captivate you with each sonic swell? Personal and contemplative, Runaway Mornings puts his soul on each track and invites the listener to become enveloped by the music. You’re taken onto this unique journey that becomes more emotionally convicting each minute. “Weigh Me Down” is a beautiful song that had passionate songwriting and augmented moments of vulnerability. The interesting concept to “Weigh Me Down” is how the lyricism is so poetically melancholic, yet you manage to feel a sense of numbness to your emotions. Instead of allowing the music to bring down the mood, you’re astonished by the beauty of the track. I was also able to notice unique synths in the back of the instrumentation that gave this track a nice classic, vintage flare. If you’re unfamiliar with the synths that I am discussing, I am specifically talking about the type of sound you will hear in the introduction of “Stranger Things”. Imagine that with otherworldly sound effects and gorgeous piano chord. This fusion curates the ultimate experience for a listener. The music of Runaway Mornings has always been marked by expansive soundscapes and love for ethereal and emotive songwriting. His debut EP "In Hindsight" was a perfect introductory piece; a record that offered insight into the young songwriter’s burgeoning artistry. Check out "Weight Me Down" by Runaway Mornings here, and continue reading for their interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic Runaway Mornings! We’re happy to be able to share your music on our platform. Tell us about your yourselves? Where did you grow up and how did you discover your love for music? Hey Buzz Music, it’s honestly a pleasure to be speaking with you. My names Will O’Donohue, but I’ve been releasing and writing music as Runaway Mornings for the last few years, in-between study and just life as it goes on. I grew up on the North Shore of Sydney, Australia, with a big leafy backyard and lots of natural sunlight. I’m not sure when I discovered my love for music, apparently as a little kid I loved to dance, I like to think it started there, though it was when I was about 16 I started writing my first songs because it was too hard to learn other peoples, since then I’ve been slowly but surely sharing them with people. Tell us about your stage name “Runaway Mornings”. It’s super authentic! What’s the story behind it? No story, Im glad you think the name is authentic though, honestly it's just a combination of words that I thought sounded good together. At this point it just feels so normalised to me, it’s like my first name, I don’t think much of it! Off the tongue it’s kind of sombré and gentle, which suits the music, so yeah. Where do you find most of your inspiration for your songwriting? How would you describe the meaning behind the lyrics in “Weigh Me Down”? Inspiration can come from anywhere, I think most artists actually mostly everyone understands a state in which you enter and things come easily and naturally whether that’s when you are making coffees, pulling up weeds or writing songs. I am a pretty confused person, like lots of people my age, a lot of my songs seem to stem from that confusion. Whats going on in the world? Why do I feel awful? Why does it even matter? Why do I have to work? Why do people get out of bed in the morning? It’s just something I’m trying to work out and when I work it, god knows what my songs will be like. Weigh Me Down is an interesting song lyrically it’s pretty simple, its not overly verbose, but it's honest and it felt real to me when I first sung it. At the time, I was worried that a relationship I was in was weighing me down and the negative connotations of that, and people were saying it was and I started to believe it. But it felt comfortable, and I felt happy, so I thought if this is weighing me down, then I’m here for it, weigh me down. “Weigh Me Down” was a beautifully executed record. Were there any challenges you faced in the production of this song? How did you overcome these obstacles? Weigh Me Down existed as just that synth phrase that starts and plays through the whole song, and it stayed that way for a while without lyrics. I became obsessed with how it sounded its the first thing I wanted to play on whatever instrument I was sitting with, especially a grand piano when I was lucky enough to get in contact with one. When I was writing the song, I did a home demo which is kind of similar to the finished recording but yeah I went a little overboard I started to arrange cellos and violins (not that I am actually very good at that), but I thought it had potential for that world, and it still might. I’ve been working with the same team since I started recording, at The Grove Studios, my friends James Osborn (Memoiirs) and Jack Nigro, at this point they just understand me and my music, and we have a lot of fun producing these tracks. The biggest problem we faced was not overcomplicating it, its easy to that to such a simple song, I wanted it swell and swirl like the ocean and I feel like we got there really organically! What can we expect next from you Runaway Mornings? Anything exciting coming up? Runaway Mornings is heading on tour this and next month around our home state of NSW, with a full band made of my very talented friends. I’m enjoying touring and will do a bit more of that next year. What I love is recording though so there will be another EP hopefully next year, I am really excited to take my time creating a small body of work, as opposed to this year which has been singles! But I’m really stoked with the support the singles this year have been receiving form the Sydney and Australian music community, theres lots of exciting things going on here. • Soraia Release Explosive New Rock Hit “Evergreen”

Soraia epitomizes raw power, unrelenting energy, chaos, and freedom. Their live show is admirably and intensely interactive. The band's chemistry has been forged over several years of relentless touring in the dingiest dive bar to the most massive amphitheater, attracting a worldwide fanbase. Recently featured in Rolling Stone Magazine's Year in Rock 2017 as one of the top ten acts to see live, the band now has eight singles and four studio albums in heavy rotation on SiriusXM and a new one on the way in 2020 - as well as international commercial radio success. “Evergreen” erupts into a heavy, classic rock sort of ambiance, but it's never outside of the arena of creativity and feeling. This particular song has passion, it’s been crafted with thought and real emotion. This is something you can tell from paying close attention to the lyrics, each and every line, and also the entire way in which the song unfolds and evolves. There’s a notable amount of space within the instrumentation, something not all that common in rock music. The effect of this is that you can really notice and appreciate each element that makes up “Evergreen”. The leading vocal, the passion, the poetry, the imagery, the riffs, the drum line, the structure, we can hear it all. “Evergreen” is comprised of numerous different sections, not necessarily conforming to the standard, expected, radio-worthy building blocks of mainstream music, and not needing to. Each part leads well into its follower, and all in all the arrangement makes for a thoroughly enjoyable and meaningful few minutes of music. Soraia provides lyrics that are undeniably fresh and it’s a pleasure to listen to these lines and thoughts expressed among a powerful soundscape. Definitely worth a listen! Check out “Evergreen” here and read more with Soraia below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Soraia! Congrats on the new release! What’s the story behind your latest release, “Evergreen”? The Narrator of the story starts out by saying,”they say I got the devil in me, just believe what you wanna believe”. That’s the story being set up to tell the truth, whether guilty or innocent, she’s going to tell it like it is. It’s about seeing “Evergreen” - the main character - as this eternally playing naive guy who uses that to get his way and get attention. But he’s doing it to avoid the real crisis in him. But on a deeper level, the song was written mainly about the idea that we all use these cheap disguised to get us out of facing truths that - maybe, in all honesty—we aren’t able or ready to face. It’s a call to action:”What’s it gonna be?” Ultimately, it’s up to the listener what they’re gonna do with their life. What are the main values you want to represent as a band, and how will you go about doing that? We very much are a "pick yourself back up and live" band. Each of us has survived a knock-down experience, and it's not the experience that brought us together as we are today, but the getting back up. We want to offer truth, hope, and inspiration. We each had to "start over" in our lives, and that is the message inherent in all our songs, our . spirits, and our performances. It's especially emphasized in our new album releasing this coming spring, "Dig Your Roots". It's all about changing and not only surviving, but being grateful for all experiences--no matter what they are. How we plan to do that is through our music, our performances, and our interviews like this! What can audiences expect from a live show from Soraia? Raw, intense, impassioned performances have always been our trademark. I always feel that no matter what's going on, or how we're feeling, we have to go out like this is the last performance we're ever going to do. If it is, what do we want people to remember about us from that show? Rock n' roll isn't serious, but that part . we take especially seriously. What are your thoughts on the future of rock music? I think it's as bright as the strongest star in the Pleiades constellation, honestly. It's going to empower and guide a lot of people. Rock is important in that it;'s an unleashing and a rebellion of what's status quo. To me that's more about honesty and embracing your power. I scream and belt in my singing because it's an unleashing intensity of all that energy inside---I can't be that unique in having that. We all have it, and fans of rock in all genres need that. It's a very real thing--and it's never gone away. It may not have been as prevalent in some times, but it's re-emerging because of all that's going on in the world now, I think. And it's more important than ever. What’s next for Soraia? More new music, more writing, touring new areas and hitting the same ones we've hit before, too. Getting into more airwaves, and thus exposing more people to us. Just growth in every area. It's important to keep growing and evolving in every area as an artist, so that's the plan. We have another new single releasing this January, and then a new album in March 2020. Keep up with Soraia through social media! www.facebook.com/soraiarocks www.instagram.com/soraiarocks #BuzzMusic

  • NEW MUSIC: Sonic Break Comes In Heavy With Debut “Collide”

Sonic Break is an original, alt-rock act based in Vancouver, Canada. Formed in 2015 after years of songwriting, brothers Rory and Jamie Mackay joined forces with drummer Ryan Grohn and bassist Ash Shenoy to create their diverse sound. Self described as a melting pot of rock, grunge, and pop influences, the band is complemented by the rich harmony vocals of singer/songwriter and collaborator Anika MacKay. Sonic Break offers a rocking live performance with searing leads, body-moving beats, catchy melodies and memorable lyrics. Making their debut with hard-hitting alt-rock single “Collide”, Sonic Break is making waves with their anthemic sound. What I like about this song is that it’s something of a grower. A gentle beginning lays bare the lyrics and seems fairly familiar, but as things evolve, “Collide” rises in passion and energy! The instrumentation and the performances, across the board, build and build. The band’s leading vocalist moves from the quietness of the opening verse to the full-throttle swagger of that final hook with seemingly effortless grace. It’s not just the sound of the voice, it’s the changing expressions and the performance in general. Sonic Break do their own thing, it’s what comes naturally, and this song is one that gets better and better with each revisit. Check out “Collide” here and read more with Sonic Break below! Hey Sonic Break! Welcome to BuzzMusic. What does “Collide” represent for you? Collide represents going through a tough time and coming out the other side of it. Life can offer some seriously trying times, whether it be circumstance, relationships, mental health or whatever, we can all overcome our hardships in our own ways and with support and hope anything is possible. "Collide" represents this possibility both for us as individuals and as a band. What prompted you to first start making music, and what drives you to continue? Hearing Nirvana Unplugged for the first time prompted my brother and I (Jamie and Rory)  to buy a guitar from a garage sale the next day and we have been writing music ever since. Luckily we found our amazing drummer, Ryan Grohn way back when we were both still playing only acoustics and we started to transform our sound together. Ash joined the band last year and his bass playing prowess and kind demeanour instantly meshed with us. It's exciting to play and create together and the happiness we all feel when playing drives us to continue to devote time and energy to our music. If you could play any event or venue in the world, past or present, which would you choose and why? Oh man, if we think local (Vancouver, BC, Canada) then the Commodore would be amazing to play some day! Seen some amazing bands there and have always loved that place. The floor used to bounce fans like on a trampoline when you were watching gigs there...they've corrected that but its still awesome!Woodstock's 50th anniversary just happened! Imagine you could say you played there!? What are your thoughts on the current mainstream music industry and the future of rock? Obviously, we listen to and love a lot of current mainstream music but it's the local music scene combined with online music sharing that allows bands that maybe aren't part of the "mainstream" music industry to break through and have their music heard. There is a vibrant music scene in this world, both locally and online and the future of rock seems to be well in hand from our perspective. What’s next for you? We want to connect with people though our music both live and recorded. We are super excited about releasing Collide and the positive reaction we've had about the song and our sound. Spaceman is our next release and we can't wait to share it with you! Discover more on the music of Sonic Break via their socials below! Facebook Instagram #BuzzMusic

  • Exclusive Interview: Catch Up With Visenya!

Hey Visenya! it's great to have you on our BuzzMusic platform. Let's talk a little about your background as a band. how did you meet and what made you decide to pursue music together? Thanks for having us! I (James) met Chris and Nick in high school. I started working at Quick Chek with Chris and showed him some instrumentals I wrote with our original bassist Kyle and he was instantly down with it. I got Nick to play guitar when he came into work one time (Nick went to a different high school). He eventually left and then came back as our drummer when I convinced him to give it a shot. I met Brian in middle school through our mutual friend Javi, and we've been good friends since then. I asked him to play bass for us almost 2 years ago when we were parting ways with our original bassist. He had never played in a legitimate band (though he has been a musician for years) and he said my passion for the music convinced him to play with us. The 4 of us clicked instantly. What are some of the main themes behind most of your songs? The songs on our EP are centered around things like self-doubt, fear of not having enough time to accomplish your goals and aspirations, cognitive dissonance, relationships (good and bad), anxiety, etc. I write about my own specific situations, but I feel like people can relate to the broad theme of them, which is why we called the EP 'Common Place'. We heard you have an upcoming video release! tell us about this. can you hint the concept of the video to our readers? We have a bunch of content that we're planning on releasing very soon! We have a shoot for a video at the end of the month, and we're coming up with visual concepts at the moment. Your computer screen will glitch out, and it's gonna be aesthetically reminiscent of our EP's cover art. What was the most challenging aspect in shooting your music video? How did you overcome this obstacle? Since we haven't shot it yet, I'll just say that coming up with a concept has been a challenge. We don't want it to be too generic and boring, and we want it to have a B-storyline since our first video for "Simple Conversations" didn't have that, but we don't want it to be so much that it takes away too much from the music. The director we're working with is the man, and we know we're in good hands once we solidify exactly what we're gonna do. What's next for Visenya? Video shoot, playing more shows (hopefully some out of state shows), writing new music, trying to get attention however we can. Right now we're trying to work on getting streaming numbers up and just sharing the EP around, so follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter (@visenyaband) and show your friends our music :) Check out Visenya's track "Simple Conversations" here!
