  • Getting To Know The Naked Feedback

What's up The Naked Feedback! We're excited to share your music and story with our BuzzMusic platform. tell us how the journey been so far creating music and performing together as a band? any challenges you've had to overcome? We have played for a couple of years now and hit probably every kind of wall young musicians come into whether it be problems with bookers, negative comments online, playing to 1 or 2 people in a whole venue. Gladly a lot of these problems are behind us and as we learn from our mistakes and misjudgments the band's profile is getting bigger and bigger along with our dedicated fan base which follows us over the country. What's the main motto to your music that you hope translates to your listeners? Any inspirations or influences of yours? We don't really have a motto for our music in general as we take inspiration from different genres and backgrounds. If anything it would simply to encourage people to have a good time and enjoy themselves, we have no political motivations or social class labels, we are exactly as you see us. Just 4 well dressed guys who bring excitement and energy to a 30 minute set and hopefully something the crowd have never seen before. Our songs are also quite diverse: we have fast songs where the crowd flops around, we have slower songs with big anthemic choruses, and we have some good old fashion funk/disco songs to get everyone moving. Our early music career was influenced by Arctic monkeys, queens of the Stone Age and The Beatles. We do keep these underlying artists in the back of our minds when writing but since we began our personal music tastes have changed and in turn what we write has also changed for the better. We loved your single "Silent Disco". Tell us about the production of this single and how you found your inspiration for it. With Silent Disco we decided to go for a fresh change in terms of bringing the track to life. We worked with a studio in Glasgow called 7 Seven West studios which we have never worked before, so this was a completely new experience. We also brought on the help of someone to co-produce the track with us: Johnny Madden of the band Baby Strange came on board to help us make the track the best it could be. And finally we also brought on a female singer called Amanda McAllister to accompany Dean's vocals during the chorus. This is something that really brought the song to life and added an new flavour to our music which people have never seen before, we were fortunate enough to get Amanda along to our recent headline show to bring her amazing voice to a couple of tracks including Silent Disco. The whole origin of Silent Disco came for a need for a song full of dance vibes without losing The Naked Feedback Rock vibes. We think we have perfectly achieved that and hopefully brought the listener a song that they will be singing/humming long after it finishes. What was your personal favorite element to "Silent Disco" from an artist's perspective? We had a lot of fun making this song in the studio and added a lot of spontaneity which you can hear in the final product. During the second verse you'll notice thead-lib sound of "woo-hoo" and "fabricate", almost as an acknowledgement to 70s funk and disco and just trying to incorporate a fun atmosphere into the song itself. Any exciting upcoming performances or live shows from The Naked Feedback? After selling out our hometown show at King Tuts Wah Wah Hut we look to take our act further afield in both the U.K. and beyond. We hope to confirm some shows in mainland Europe before the end of this year and even talking about plans to play a tour of Canada at the beginning of 2020 so we have a lot to look forward to. • NEW MUSIC: Country Duo Mary And Brianna Release Brand New EP “Whiskey And Lust”

Mary and Brianna are a twin sister pop/country duo from New York who regularly delight live audiences in both New York and Nashville. Lead vocalist and co-writer Mary is passionate about writing melodies and layering high and low harmonies; she also assists in background vocal arrangements and has a special way of adding perfect nuances that make the songs unique. Brianna is the storyteller and is very passionate about creating honest and relatable lyrics. She’s also the duo’s instrumentalist. In addition to singing, she plays the guitar and piano. “Whiskey and Lust”, Mary and Brianna’s latest EP, was the first project they undertook after moving to Nashville. Though the duo are from New York, they refer to themselves as “New York Country” as they, and this EP, have been strongly influenced by Nashville’s thriving music culture. Taking the best musical traditions from both New York and Nashville, Mary and Brianna have used current pop elements with traditional country music tropes to create catchy songs with broad appeal. The incredibly talented sisters have an original sound that is true to their pop roots and country influences. The beginning of the Ep starts off with the name sake “Whiskey And Lust”. The vocals come in and blow me away! They’re harmonically-rich and mesmerizing as Mary and Brianna weave through a light-hearted love story that will resonate with any listener. The raw and vulnerable new song is an incredible intro and we’re hooked. The ethereal vocals and authentic to the core songwriting has us singing along to every word. Next on the EP is “Clockwork”, this track introduces a bouncing country-pop feel and we just can’t get enough. The groovy tune is sure to get you toe-tapping along with the textured rhythms and catchy melodies. Mary and Brianna keep delivering relatable songs that are undeniably memorable. “Leave the City” is a more vulnerable track that’s harmony laden and takes the listener on a journey. It gives us a retrospective look at the inner thoughts and feelings of Mary and Brianna. The instrumentals are blended perfectly with the addicting chorus. As the EP transitions into “Shuffle” the dynamic duo delivers an upbeat and danceable pop track. The chemistry between the light-hearted lyricism and finely calibrated vocals is hypnotizing. We can’t help but dance along to this infectious hit. As the EP approaches conclusion, “In the Morning” begins with a melancholic change of pace. It slowly turns into a catchy, melodious tune during the chorus. Mary’s lead vocals are spectacular and authentic to the core. Keeping up the consistent theme of love, wonder and adventure, “In the Morning” is a love anthem that brilliantly wraps up the EP. The sisters project, “Whiskey and Lust” is a refreshingly contemporary flare to the country music industry. They’re high energy aesthetic and positivity flows through the speakers. Mary and Brianna write relateable tracks for all their fans and listeners to enjoy. We love what they bring to the table and can’t wait to see what they deliver next. I highly recommend you check out “Whiskey and Lust” here and read more with Mary and Brianna in our interview below. Hello Mary and Brianna! How did you get started in music? We grew up in a family full of musicians, so picking up a mic or instrument was just a matter of time. Our dad plays piano and listening to him growing played a big role in wanting to become musicians. I (Brianna) especially can remember sitting next to him on the piano bench and watching his hand dance along the keys. I was hooked instantly. Mary and I have literally been singing since the crib. When I started learning guitar around the age of 11, we also began to write songs, and that is when we started performing and recording originals. What inspired you to start recording your songs? Our family played a major role in encouraging us to further pursue our music (outside the living room). We began to play our songs live at local coffee shops and little venues around our home town. We received great feedback and support and figured it’d be worth a shot to record a release a few! Fast forward 10 years of practice, performing, and recording and here we have “Whiskey and Lust!” We feel this EP has a “new romance” theme with intimate elements that draws in the listener. If you could pick one major theme for your EP “Whiskey and Lust”, what would it be? What was the writing process like for this project? “Whiskey and Lust” was a direct result of our move to Nashville. We had visited a bunch of times in high school, and finally decided to make the move in 2017. The talent thriving in Nashville was truly inspiring. We were greatly influenced by the craft of storytelling and attention to detail in every song that comes out of this city. We wanted to create music that reflected that. We love your vocals! What age did you begin performing in front of others? We grew up singing for our family and friends! We began performing in venues around town when we were 12. We have played at bars, coffee shops, theaters and even a stadium! We love performing and sharing our originals with an audience. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics in “Shuffle”? What inspired this song? “Shuffle” is a playful song about a girl who can’t figure out what kind of guy she wants to date. We have both experienced feeling restless or unsure in a relationship. We compared the common indecisiveness most girls experience when dating with picking a song on a playlist. How often do you change a song before it plays through? The first verse describes an edgy guy, with long hair and piercings, symbolizing her punk playlist. We reference song titles such as “All the Small Things” and “Story of a Girl” to represent a pop punk kind of guy. Then fading out of the chorus we say “and the next one goes like this.” The second verse then describes her”next” boy. We reference songs “Cruise,” “Body like a Backroad” and “Stay a Little Longer” to represent the country boy that she is interested in. Do you have any musical influences? How do you draw from them for inspiration? We are greatly influenced by Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, and Taylor Swift; women in country/pop who are also able to cross genres. We never liked limiting our music to one genre. Some of the songs on the EP lean pop and others lean towards country. Hi N3FS! Can you start by telling our readers and fans about your upbringing into music? When did you realize it was your passion? I’ve been in love with music for as long as I can even remember, I started writing songs in like 3rd grade. When I was in 7th grade I heard GKMC for the first time and that’s where I really started developing my own music taste as opposed to just listening to the music my momma and family members were listening to. I realized it was my passion when I was in college and I was locking myself in my dorm not even going to the class and just recording all day and night. I dropped out that semester to pursue my career. What’s the meaning behind the lyrics of “Criss Xross”? How do you want listeners to interpret this track? Criss Xross is a track that I made to really show my versatility. I want to bridge the gap between lyrical music and lit music without going short on either one. I want the listeners to see the lyricism and wordplay while also being able to violently nod their head at the same time lol. Who are your top three musical influences? Why? My top 3 influences are Kendrick Lamar, Kanye, and J Cole. While you may not be able to hear the influence through me, they played a big part in me learning how to sharpen my pen game and storytelling. If you go through my catalog, most of my other songs have whole stories incorporated you just gotta listen hard enough. What challenges have you faced as an up and coming artist? How have you overcome those challenges? The biggest challenge I have faced is not really having the support or the social media presence to really grow my audience. I’m only 19 and this is only the beginning though! I’m very confident that the older I get and the better I get, I will find my audience and be able to do big things with the opportunities I get. What’s next for you? At the moment, I’m working on my project “Escape Matrix” and music videos for Criss Xross, Psycho, More, Winter, and possibly No ceiling pt.2. • Canadian DJ, Karvell, Drops New Banger ‘Horizon”

Cameron Di Marco is a talented artist from Toronto, Canada. Better known for his professional name Karvell, he’s making waves in the EDM music scene with his new age sound. Primarily producing EDM due to its popularity, Karvells favourite genre of music to produce is big room as well as future bass and 'progressive/electro house. His interest in DJing began when he was about 12 years old. From then on, he began with only mixing EDM and establishing his craft from the ground up. Punching synths fused with electronic arrangements mix spectacularly with the overall ambient theme of “Horizon”. Karvell is further spreading his smooth textures across the entire track. Contagious synths and effects paint the perfect melody for an addictive storyline to continue. Invigorating and energizing, “Horizon” is an incredible project. “Horizon” comes equipped with  heavy electronic sounds lead into a mysterious and mesmerizing vibe. “Horizon” is the perfect song to sit back and relax to, or roll the windows down and go for a cruise. Upbeat and energetic, it explodes out of the speakers and brings the party vibe back into your life. Check out “Horizon” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Karvell! How old were you when you released your very first track? I released my very first track when I was 16 but officially I’d say my ‘first’ track was released when I was 19. The quality of the song I released when I was 16 was not up to the standard I learned about during my schooling for musical production. Only after finishing school, 3 years later was I able to start over & release what I consider my first tack Horizon at 19. How does your earlier music compare to your recent release “Horizon”? When I first started producing music, I was a huge fan of big room, so I produced big room, but I always wanted to make an uplifting melodic progressive house track. Horizon, my first release, is exactly that. In my opinion big room and progressive house are similar genres due to that fact that they both stimulate an energetic feeling that can be given at raves, this is the type of energy I want my listeners to feel. Gradually, with my new tracks I’m working on defining my own style by experimenting with different sounds and genres of music. Tell us what you want your listeners to take away from “Horizon” Personally my track “Horizon” serves as a milestone for me as it is the first song I’ve produced after finishing school. With this thought in mind I wanted to produce the feelings associated with new beginnings and successful endings in “Horizon” for my listeners. As life progresses it’s hard to realize how much has changed and it’s tough to start fresh but sometimes it is inevitable. “Horizon” symbolizes this new chapter of my life and I feel it holds thousands of different paths for my listeners. Creating this song pushed my boundaries as it was a different genre to produce. So I want my listeners to feel the build up of the song as they build on their own dreams. I want my listeners to feel unbreakable and inspired to attain whatever they wish for in life. I want my listeners to feel uplifted and ready to break and push any boundaries they have in their lives, just as I did when I produced this song. When you’re not making music, what do you do? When I'm not making music, I have a part time job that helps me invest more into my music. I’m also a car enthusiast so when I have time from music and work, I love going to car shows. In general I love meeting new people and making connections so when possible I go out with friends. For the time being, I’m minimizing time for my hobbies and focusing on my music. What inspires you to keep making music everyday? The main reason I’m inspired to keep making music everyday and working on my career is that, I want to live my dream. When I go to festivals or watch them on YouTube, I aspire to be on the main stage playing in front of massive audiences around the world. I aspire to be heard and to connect to my listeners. I think it’s other people listening to my music that inspires me, knowing that I created something from scratch and seeing it get a positive reaction from somebody. Above all, It’s the raw energy around me and the emotions that music is able to create and sustain that inspires me to continue making music. Lucky Ezemboi who goes by the stage name of Lucky Ezy is a Howard Alum and graduate student at APU. At only 24 years old, he resides in Bowie, Maryland. The genres and styles he likes are afrobeat, RnB, and soul music. Some of his inspirations towards his music include the artists Phil Ade, Wale, Davido, and many more. Lucky Ezy released the single titled “Tease” with a highly contagious melody that’s sure to infect its listener. While listening to “Tease” I began moving my body alongside the rhythm of the afrobeat and enjoying the canorous tune of the lightly treaded vocals. The production in “Tease” was highly atmospheric, capturing the moment for the listener. “Tease me, baby, I don’t want to go all night with you” the hook sings. These sensual lyrics were not only raunchy but had elements of relativeness. “Don’t waste my time, Don’t waste my time”. Many people will fall in love with the relatable lyrics and sing along with it constantly. I loved how light-hearted the beat was. It was just a vibe all along. I can find “Tease” being played at a joyful summer party, while people can get groovy with the rhythm of the beat. The playful beat cultivates the energy while his passionate vocals pierce you. “Tease” is a well-polished record that weaves between charismatic and rhythmic genres.
