  • Get Ready To Surge With Energy In A Monney $$ Track: "Check"

Growing up in Central Florida, A Monney $$ felt connected with music at a young age due to his father's predominant involvement with the music scene. A Monney $$ pours himself and his honesty into his tracks, curating music that is appealing to the listener. Only beginning his music career seriously two years ago, you wouldn't guess that A Monney $$ is still so incredibly new to the music scene (his music definitely tells us otherwise). A Monney $$ produces tracks that contain a vibrancy and natural hype builds up as his tracks go on. His recent album release "Loyalty" is the perfect example of that natural hype that A Monney $$ possesses--as you continue through his album, you find yourself getting more and more surged. Our favorite track on the album happens to be the first one up: "Check". "Check" is the type of track you need to be listening to when wanting to feel boujee, confident, or that all-around feel-good vibe. A Monney $$ really knows how to curate a track that will make listeners feeling as if they're surging with energy! We love rap/hip-hop tracks that can maintain a certain kind of flow all throughout, and A Monney $$ defintiely delivers on that end, without a doubt. "Check" is a diverse track in the way that it switches from the type of tone A Monney $$ gives off, ranging from a hard-hitting vocal delivery, to a more laid back and relaxed tempo. The change in melody throughout the track is what both caught, and kept our attention for the entire duration. A Monney $$ is releasing tracks that are composed, and care-free. We love the energy he discharges from himself, and we're absolutely living for the kind of hype his tracks possess! Make sure you check out "Check" here, and continue reading for A Monney $$ interview! Hey there A Monney $$! Can you birefly intorduce yourself to our readers? My name is A Monney $$ and originally I’m from the Orlando area. I guess I would consider myself an artist more of a rapper because I really do have a variety of styles in my library. How did you go about choosing your stage name? I wanted something that was easy to say and quick to pronounce. I was just saying stuff and since my first name starts with A I figured hey let’s add something to it. I added an extra n in money to make it unique and the dollar signs just to make sure that no one else could claim I stole the name. How was the production of your latest album "Loyalty"? Did your initial vision for the album end up executing as you thought it would?! I wanted something light and more fun after my last album tyranny which was more dark and atmospheric. This being the follow up was somewhat after I came through the depression and emotion on the last album to make it to the top so to speak and it ended up working out. So loyalty became more lighthearted and filled with fast paced beats rather than slow melodies and It is the best work I have as of yet "Check" was that type of track that pulsates with energy! What kind of vibe were you going for when curating the track? I was trying to get almost an x vibe from sad but with a more light subject trying to capture that feeling. I had a lot of fun making it and I wanted that to reflect in the track. What can we expect to see from you next as an artist? I’m going to keep grinding and try to grow as an artist because as I have learned since I started there is always room for improvement. Compared to my first songs these don’t even compare so I’m going to keep working at it. Make sure you connect with A Monney $$ on his socials below! Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

Keep scrolling for our exclusive interview with the artist. Hey Cara! Welcome to BuzzMusic! How did you get started writing music? What made you want to record it and take it more seriously? I’ve always loved writing. I used to write poetry all the time but I never thought about writing music. I started playing the guitar when I was 16 and after I learned a few chords, I started playing around with the idea of writing my own song. Taylor Swift was a huge influence for me. I went to her 1989 concert and the next day I came home and sat at my desk until I had written my first song. I started showing it to people and I never expected to get the feed back I did. People started telling me I was good and that made me want to take the next step and start recording. We love your song “Better Off”! Can you tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics? What inspired this song? The ideas for my songs come from things that have actually taken place in my life. I just finished my first year of college and I had a lot of new and different experiences. The idea for “Better Off” came from an experience that I had with a guy. The lyrics were inspired by the fact that I liked him, he lead me on, and then it was over. Even when it was over, I couldn’t let go and the meaning of the song is that even though he was bad for me, I still liked him and wanted him in my life, even if that meant just as friends. How do you feed your passion for music everyday? I write almost every day. Most of what I write doesn’t get put into my songs, but every once in a while I stumble upon the perfect lyric. I also play my guitar every day and create new and different Melody’s. I like to experiment with different sounds on garage band as well. Writing music is a process. It doesn’t just come to you in one day, it takes time. I get a lot of good thoughts and ideas in the middle of the night and I’ll wake up and jot them down so I’ll remember them in the morning. What do you hope your listeners take away from your songs? When I listen to other artists music, I really enjoy songs that I connect with. Often times, I find that their lyrics become really meaningful to me as I have had similar experiences. I want my listeners to feel a connection that will make the song more meaningful to them. Do you have any upcoming shows, events or releases you want to talk about? For right now, I have no upcoming events. I hope to start performing more in the near future. I’m working on a lot of new music and I am hoping to get it out there really soon. For now, I just hope that my listeners will continue to support me and “Better Off” as my dream is to hear it on the radio one day! Listen to “Act Up” here and keep scrolling for our exclusive with Tynan. Hey Tynan! Welcome to BuzzMusic! When did you decide to take music more seriously? I decided to take music more seriously after I began making beats and writing songs with friends. With the support they gave me, I became encouraged to begin my music career. What do you hope your listeners take away from your music, specifically “Act Up”? After listening to “Act Up” I hope my listeners can connect to the meaning. “Act Up” is a story about an ex of mine who was quite aggressive and quick to anger and this song captures that and hopefully my listeners can relate. In general, I hope anyone who listens to my music can relate to the meanings but also enjoy the vibe they get. What was your writing process like for this song? When I first heard the beat the name “Act Up” came to me straight away. I spent some time reflecting on my past and the story about my ex came up in my head. After the idea was planted, I wrote it like a story where everything is good in the relationship at the beginning and then in the second verse is where everything turned bad. Who are some of your musical influences? How do they inspire your sound? My musical influences include Travis Scott, Mac Miller, G-Eazy, and Asap Rocky to name a few. By listening to these influencer, I become aware of things I would of never thought of such as flows, pop culture references, and different rhyming techniques. If you could perform anywhere in the world, where would you choose? Why? If I could perform anywhere in the world I would still pick LA due to the HipHop scene and population. To be able to perform in one of the biggest HipHop influenced city would be my dream. What’s next for you Tynan Smyth? Following “Act Up” I am working on new songs and looking to include features with upcoming artists as well as add some new and different elements into my music to stand out. • Relleum Rebellion Are Psychedelic Rock Experts In “Spectral Hollow”

Relleum Rebellion is exactly what today's music scene needs. A little grunge, a little goth, and a lot of rock. creative musical outlet for singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Vinicius Mueller, Relleum Rebellion is making their psychedelic noise rock out of Toronto, Ontario. Together with jazz drummer Nate Robertson and the steady sound of Andrew "Woodsie" on bass, Relleum Rebellion mixes a love of west coast psychedelic rock with a penchant for 90's noise-rock and blues steeped in some Brazilian MPB. Pulling inspiration from notable artists like Sonic Youth, The Black Keys, and Os Mutantes, Relleum Rebellion is authentic to the core. With an extensive background in music Relleum Rebellion’s release their incredible single “Spectral Hollow”. The song gives off an old school rock vibe, while still keeping things indie and modern. It’s hypnotizing rhythm keeps your interest, while the lyrics let your mind wander. The guitar chords are spectacular throughout, the pummeling back-beats are groundbreaking and we can’t get enough of Vinicius Mueller’s lofi experimental vocals! It’s haunting, it’s mystical, it’s transcendent. Relleum Rebellion is giving us a fresh new contemporary rock feeling, with a twist. Relleum Rebellion knows how to hook their audiences and we’re already dying to see what’s next. Listen to “Spectral Hollow” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hey Relleum Rebellion! Can you start by telling us more about yourselves and your upbringing into music? Hi there. We're an ever-evolving 3-piece band from the outskirts of Toronto, Ontario. We all have been working and performing music with various acts in and around Toronto, Canada for some time now. We have Nate Robertson on drums, and Andrew Woods on bass. I'm Vinicius Mueller - guitar/vocals, and primary songwriter for the project. Nate and Andrew come from a jazz and roots music background while I'm really into west coast psychedelia and was raised on a steady sonic diet of prog and classic rock. Although our tastes are each very eclectic, we find our common ground in our shared love of Tom Waits and Sonic Youth and Captain Beefheart. How did you create your stage name? Relleum is my surname backwards, and my shrink says that my rebellion stems from a life-long, deep-seated subconscious aversion to all forms of authority that I acquired equally from my parents and my upbringing in Brazil... but I totally disagree with that. How did you all meet? We came together when I moved to the city of Orillia in 2018, avoiding the soaring rent prices in downtown Toronto. The result of getting a little space to breathe, led me to set up a studio in my basement which yielded a wealth of demos that would eventually become the basis for our brand of psychedelic-inspired noise-rock. I met Nate at a local cafe open mic. We started playing together as a guitar and drums duo for a while until he introduced me to Andrew a few months later after one of our gigs. What’s the meaning behind your track “Spectral Hollow Radio Static”? This song in particular is a reflection of my feelings of frustration with the status quo, the sense that we are better off embracing our personal values rather than subsuming ourselves to some foreign external thing, artificially superimposed onto us. It's kind of an a-political song about the affect of politics. The title is a reference to the electronic voice phenomenon (EVP) that comes from parapsychology, y'know because spooky stuff... What’s your favourite lyric in “Spectral Hollow”? Why? My favourite lyric in the song is in the pre-chorus. It goes, "burn your pretty little things, baby, and send your alms unto the sun." This was the line that led to the rest of the lyrics. I'm really into dadaism and my partner is an uber minimalist in every respect of the word. I'm really attracted to the belief that our possessions are these vain trinkets that dispossesses us of ourselves, dividing us from the world around us. Fire cleanses and the sun is worthy of our worship. What can we expect from you next? The future is our oyster. We have our debut 6-song EP coming out on August 11th and we're already in the early stages of putting together our next release. Hopefully that will be ready before the end of this year. In the meantime, we will be doing a tour of southern Ontario and the east coast of Canada and we're beginning to set our sights on some US dates for early next year. • NEW MUSIC: Michaela Slinger Makes Her Spectacular Debut With “Flux”

Talented singer/songwriter Michaela Slinger is only 23 years old but the soul and passion that goes into her work is timeless. Wise beyond her years, her maturity, clever lyricism and angelic vocals are what she’s best known for. Residing in Vancouver, Canada, this rising star was recently accepted as one of 16 Canadian participants in the Artist Entrepreneur program through Canada’s Music Incubator in Toronto, where she’ll work on her release plan for her 5-song EP. Michaela has a wide range of musical influences, including Maggie Rogers, Lorde, Fleetwood Mac, Etta James, John Mayer, and The Cranberries. Michaela also builds community throughout Vancouver through her work with non-profits, specifically involved in youth engagement. Michaela recorded her debut single “Flux” at Greenhouse Studios with producer Nygel Asselin (Dark Eyes - Half Moon Run (platinum certified), Matt Millz) in June 2018. A long road to get to where she is today, her debut single “Flux” is evidence of that long journey. “Flux” is an alternative pop ballad about the fears and struggles we all deal with in our early twenties. Making big decisions and taking risks puts everyone out of their comfort zone and it’s truly admirable that Michaela gives her listeners a retrospective look at her feelings. She takes her heart and soul and create emotive poetry to share with her listeners. The raw energy that Michaela exudes is undeniably spectacular. “Flux” boasts all the intricate elements of an absolute hit and an impressive debut for the young up and comer, Michaela Slinger! Stay on the lookout for her 5-track EP. Listen to “Flux” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hi Michaela! How did you get started in music? What inspired you to start recording your songs? The story my mom tells me is that I was singing before I could talk, trying to belt out Celine Dion from my car seat. My parents had a connection through a friend and I ended up singing the anthem at an NBA game when I was 3. They had no idea if it would be traumatizing or inspiring for me—luckily, it was the latter! I wanted everything to do with performing, so then I started musical theatre, voice lessons, piano, dance classes, and all that good stuff. I was super involved in theatre until I was about 16. I started writing songs around age 10 but really started to care more about being a musician than a theatre performer in high school, when I learned guitar and took Music Composition (I'm super grateful for the music offerings at my high school). Once at university, I began playing my stuff at open mics and recording occasionally in the student-run studio. It was all low pressure and very supportive. We love your voice! What age did you begin performing in front of others? Like I said, age 3 was my first public performance at a sold-out NBA game. I had absolutely no fear on stage as a child. Even at home, I was always roping my little sister into doing performances for our parents, and if I had friends over we'd usually end up writing raps and songs, dressing up, recording music videos on our family iMac, or some combination of all three. How do your musical influences inspire your sound? I like artists who seem like they're working really hard to be themselves and grow their own sound. People like Maggie Rogers, Lorde, Daniel Caesar, King Princess, Tame Impala, Donna Missal—these are people who don't strike me as the type to succumb to external pressure to be more marketable, or to follow the boundaries of one particular genre. Maggie Rogers is my biggest musical influence currently, because I think she uses tools from a variety of genres to make her listeners feel things with her. She's obviously got incredible pop sensibility, but she can write folk-esque lyrics with lots of nature imagery, she can make beats that feel like smooth R&B, she's crafty with samples...I could go on. I don't necessarily sit down and think: "I want to make a song that sounds like Fallingwater." But it's useful to have these artists as role models that I can return to when I feel like I'm being too "random" as I create. Tell us more about the meaning of the lyrics in “Flux.” I wrote Flux while I was working full-time at a non-profit as an executive assistant. We were deep into labour market research and writing 100+ pages for multiple proposals to submit to the provincial government for funding. I'd be trying to ignore my feelings of unhappiness and dissatisfaction with the way I'd set my life up, but it got to a point where I was on the verge of tears all day at the office because I knew my real (and terrifying) desire was to make music.  I think I was actually working from home on the proposals, or maybe I'd come home from work, and Flux just came to me. I'm always scribbling down lyric ideas, and I'd had the lyrics for the pre-chorus first. The theme of the song is about navigating your early twenties (or thirties, or eighties) and experiencing the highs and lows so viscerally. One day, I felt like I was on top of the world; the next, like I wasn't doing anything right. All these big questions were continually coming up: what's my purpose? How can I make a difference? What do I want my days to look like? How to I want to be in relationships with others? And I don't feel like I have enough life wisdom yet to answer these questions. That left me feeling like I was constantly in a state of flux. What theme can we expect from your upcoming EP? Do you have a release date you’d like to announce? No date is set yet. I'm heading to Toronto for a 2-month program called Canada's Music Incubator, and I'll be working on my EP release plan there. I liken my EP to a tasting flight that you get when you go to a brewery (Vancouver basically has 1 brewery for every 2 residents, so it feels like a useful description here): there's a jazzy track with saxophone, there's a party-vibe song, there's a stripped down love song, there's a shimmery dream-pop song. They all reflect different parts of me. I really identify as a generalist, or someone who is an expert in nothing but loves to learn a little about everything. So hopefully—just like how people find their one go-to beer from that tasting flight—there will be a track in there for everyone. • Contemporary, Funky & Eccentric Artist Hollie Beadell Releases “Get It Right"

Hollie Beadell is contributing to the modern/contemporary genre in a huge way! We loved and appreciated her music as soon as we listened to it. Hollie puts out music curated with such a unique execution—the genre she contributes to in general is funky and vibrant! Studying music at the Academy of Contemporary Music, Hollie uses her knowledge and background in the category to aid in her elemental music production. We can only imagine how powerful her performances must be! One thing memorable about Hollie Beadell’s music is that it transforms a category, and artists who can take their music, their vision, and transform a category are talented beyond the recognition they receive for it. HollieBeadell’s music is eccentric and eclectic in every way possible, and we can’t wait for the BuzzMusic community to hear what she’s recently released! Hollie Beadell maintains a funky and fun tempo throughout her latest track “Get It Right”. Her voice is unique and raw throughout this track, and she’s able to integrate her vocalism flawlessly into the upbeat flow. Hollie Beadell is expanding the category of contemporary funk, and we’re loving the type of energy she’s putting out there in her music! All we want to do is dance, especially when the chorus hits—“Get It Right” is one of those tracks where you HAVE to move your body in some way, it’s just that catchy. “Get It Right” made us feel alive in the office, pumping this through and extending a feel-good vibe. Hollie’s singer/songwriting skills are modern and on track with what the growing category needs right now—we’re definitely keeping an eye on this artist to hear what she’s planning to release in August! We can only assume it will be even more game-changing than “Get It Right”. Feel energized with Hollie Beadell’s Release “Get It Right” here, and don’t forget to check out her exclusive interview below! Hey Hollie! Please give our readers more of a sense of who you are as an artist! I’m from a small town just outside London. I started singing when I was small child and I was always performing to anyone who would listen. I currently study at the Academy of Contemporary Music in the uk and that has really given me a chance to launch my career in the music industry. My new style is pop with a soulful vibe with a hint of old school R&B and funk. What was the predominant message you wanted to be received when listening to “Get It Right”? The concept is about the end of a relationship, but in a broader sense the message is you can’t please everyone, sometimes no matter what you say or do, and that’s ok. I like to incorporate meaningful and deep lyrics with an upbeat tempo, just because something is ‘negative’ doesn’t mean we have to feel bad about it and in my life I like to try and turn negatives into positives. I think that’s the reason everything I write is like that. Can you tell us more about the curation process of “Get It Right”? Did you face any challenges when writing the song? I worked with a completely different producer on this track. We started with just a little rift and then it stemmed from there. This was probably the easiest song to write, it only took me around an hour and a bit to do and lay down the basic vocals so I had a good foundation to record from in the studio.  I think part of that comes from the strong meaning behind the lyrics, sometimes a song just works. Who would you say are your top two music inspirations? Do you think they contribute to your music and the ideas you curate? My top two are Plan B and Amy Winehouse. I don’t know if you have heard the album ‘the defamation of strickland banks’ but I think that album changed my life and made me want to become a recording artist. It’s such a powerful concept album and has had a massive impact on my new album. Amy Winehouse contributed in a sense as I would listen to her album before going into the studios. I think being influenced by such strong albums inspired me to push boundaries and gave me the confidence to try something new and fresh and really mix genres. We’re incredibly excited to hear your new album “Jukebox Nights” in August! How’s the finishing touches going on the album so far? I am near enough done with all the album, my manger and producer are having a meeting to just have a listen to everything and make sure it’s all good. I am now focusing on my first tour I have coming up in September to release it, I am so excited to be performing these songs live with my full band. I am looking forward for people to hear this album and see how different it is from the first one that I did. It’s really exciting to see the artwork and all the elements coming together, it’s a brand new look for brand new music and I’m so excited to share how I’ve grown as an artist in the last few years. In what ways has it impacted your style and sound? Thank you for your interest! Well to describe my upbringing.. I've been a creative since my early age.. lets say 13 years old. I've always had this passion in creating art.. whether it was graphic designing, building websites, writing and now making full songs. I took all the knowledge and experience I've had since then and it became natural to me. I am an R&b fan at heart so I soaked up a lot of that 90s R&B sound and infused it with today's style and made it my own. Who or what would you consider some of your main influences and inspirations as an artist and why? The Weeknd was and is still is one of my influences .. but my influences change for every project as I progress. Right now, artists like H.E.R, Daniel Caesar, Lucky Daye and a few new souls that's been keeping that true R&B feel alive. Let’s jump right into your music! “Such A Fool” is a HIT. what’s the theme you were going for? How would you detail the meaning of these lyrics to our readers? Thank you for that! Well "Such a Fool" was written last year. The whole idea of this song was basically to show it's okay to admit your wrongs and feeling guilty about a good situation you messed up on. If you listen to the lyrics I'm basically trying to make it work and doing anything I can for it to work... Lyrics like "Just to be clear we can try to make this fair, you can get me back for everything I've done on the real" I'm pretty much giving that person the opportunity to play karma and get back at me just for us to leave everything in the pass and move on. In what ways can you as an artist personally relate to “Such A Fool”? Well everything I write usually come from a true story.. I relate to everything I create I've been there and witnessed it. I like to share my story to the world because I know everyone go through the same thing. It feels good knowing you're not alone. What’s next for you PROMKNGHT? NEW PROJECT! NEW VISUALS! NEW CONCERTS! and much, much more I have cooking up! I am just truly excited for this journey, It's been rough, it's been a lot of ups and downs, but the ups are definitely worth while and I'm just truly blessed and excited to share more of my creativity to the world.
