The track  “My Own Thing” off the debut album “Red Red Lips” released in 2018, is gaining significant amount of attention and generating all the correct buzz as it’s currently featured on the TV series promotion of “The Bold Type” for its season 3 trailer. • Katja Lavinia Gives Us Power With "Ripple Effect"

Katja was born in Romania and spent her early years in an orphanage until she was adopted at three years old and was brought to the United States. Her adoptive mother used music as a way to soothe her as she was of course apprehensive to her new surroundings. Due to her mother using music as a means for communication, it became a safe outlet for Katja. Eventually, Katja would make the move from San Francisco to Los Angeles releasing her EP title, “Then and Now” in February of 2019. Currently, she is touring Los Angeles and is looking forward to be featured at “Hotel Cafe in May. A techno pop kind of instrumental starts the song, “Ripple Effect," with some percussion eventually added in. The pre-chorus is lovely with a layered effect of vocals giving it a cool futuristic vibe--somewhat reminiscent of La Roux. Katja’s vocals are sharp and strong, which is complemented by the sharp beats. In this song, it seems that Katja is battling with her wants and needs and how she will be able to get them. Her lyrics are beautiful and elegant while contrasting with the almost dance pop vibe that she has. By the end of the song, her lovely vocalizations are a mix of soft and powerful. Katja Lavinia will no doubt captivate you with her entirety as a musician and singer. Be sure to add some of Katja's powerful vocals to your Spotify playlist with "Ripple Effect," and scroll down for the artist's exclusive interview! • Sarah Shafey Channels Her Inner Badass With “Suzy Q”

Sarah Shafey is a Canadian singer, producer, and mixing engineer. Shafey has been around in the Toronto music scene for more than a decade wearing many hats behind the scenes, mixing albums for bands across genres and recording at her studio Squeaky Clean Records. Her personal sound over the past decade has grown from piano folk-pop to her now distinguished emotive alternative and grungy shoegaze rock sound. Sarah Shafey delivered a badass and edgy single titled “Suzy Q”. “Suzy Q” immediately captured my attention by the first note. The staccato rhythmic verses complemented by Sarah’s voguish yet sassy with a hint of sensual vocal resonance to drives the beloved "Suzy Q" forward in our memories. Sarah Shafey has all the right elements that makes her a hit rock n roll vocalist and a standout artist. “Suzy Q” displays her intricate vocals alongside atmospheric and sensational electric guitar chords, creating the ultimate grunge scenario for you. You become lost inside the whole rebellious aura she fabricates for you. Ripped denim jeans, 90’s, leather jackets, hairsprays, motorcycles, and bubblegum is the image I was able to manufacture in my head while listening to this classic grimey rock hit! Add some grungy vibes to your Spotify playlist with Sarah Shafey's "Suzy Q" Scroll down for Sarah's exclusive interview! Tell us a little bit about your first album release “Tiny Music Box” in 2008, were you able to discover your artistry? That is a great question. “Tiny Music Box” was my first attempt at a full album. At the time I had no idea what I was doing but I knew that I loved to play piano, sing, and I wanted to learn how to use audio recording/editing software. I discovered through that album that I have a love for the producing, writing, mixing, and recording process and however much my sound has evolved and changed over the years, it was a great start at getting my voice and words out there into a tangible form. You released your second album “Maverick” in 2013, knowing the major time difference in years, is there any reason why you were on a brief hiatus between both albums? It seems to be the trend with all of my albums. I love the creative process and don’t feel the need to rush it. I really put a lot of my heart and soul into my music and try to learn something new with each album; whether that be new producing technics, learning something about a new genre, collaborating and writing with other producers and musicians, spending time mixing, etc. I have no desire to pump out track after track for the sake of it. I am doing this for art and love and time is of no essence when it comes to making music for me. Also, I really like to tell a great story so I need some life to happen in between so I have something to write about lol. Describe how different your latest album release “Peaches n Cream” is from your past two? I think I was in more of a chill headspace but the time I started writing “Peaches n Cream”. I usually start writing a new album as I am at the tail end of finishing my previous one. With “Maverick” I was letting out all of the angst over many a life circumstance and by the time I was done I felt the need to explore a more low key side of alternative. I love “Peaches n Cream” because it’s a fitting story and sound for where I was at that point. I guess it’s always about whatever my mood is at that point in time. The album that I am working on now explores the pop/electro side of grunge rock.  Fundamentally there is always alternative at the core but I love to challenge exactly what that means by adding layers of other genres on top. Alternative rock is the ice-cream and the other genres are the delicious toppings. Back to your second album release “Maverick” do you have any personal favorites off the album? If so which and why? I love that whole album. The women who helped me write and produce that one, (Donna Grantis), is also playing guitar and play she does. I am a sucker for a good guitar shred and there are so many guitar shreds that it is hard to decide. If I had to pick I’d go with “Swim”, “Suzy Q”, “Foot In Mouth Disease”, and “A Leisurely Pace” because they all tell a great story about being a powerful woman in a world where powerful women don’t reign supreme. "Suzy Q" is a rocking hit! What inspired you to write it? Thank you. It was a few things that led to that song. I used to live in a place in Toronto where I’d see the same woman on the street corner every single day. Like clockwork she was there all dolled up and waiting and than she’d be gone just like that; next day same thing. I’d also just finished watching a documentary on the annual Players Ball. I wondered what life looked like through that lens, perhaps with a slightly desensitized view. Connect with Sarah on the artist's website and socials: Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Apollo V Is Going To Be Jumping The Charts With His New Hit

His name is Jeremy Bustamante but he goes by the stage name “Apollo V” and he’s the next rap prodigy you probably won’t see coming. Apollo V released his single “Jump” and he reminded me a lot like an interesting mix of current iconic rappers such as Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and J.Cole. With a rap style and flow similar to kendrick, swag similar to drake, and the storytelling lyrical ability similar to J.Cole. He didn’t miss a single beat throughout the entire song and gave us a non-stop flow. What impressed me was his breathe control throughout. In my opinion there’s rappers and there’s mc’s. There’s rappers who know how to simply write a rap song with not much lyric substance behind it but a dope beat, fun lyrics, and an addicting hook. Then in my opinion, there’s the MC’s who can drive forward a 3 minute song full of nothing but bars. I take the MC’s more serious due to their raw skill and talent however in those two divided sub-genres of rap music in my opinion, Apollo V falls into the MC category but knows how to weave the lines between a catchy rapper as well. I mean the potential is just there, and anybody who doesn’t see it must be blind! Apollo V is the next big thing for sure. Listen to Apollo V's "Jump" here, and catch the artist's interview below to get to know him better! What inspired you to go by the stage name “Apollo V” My artist name came about due to my Interest in Greek mythology and one of my favorite movies, “V for Vendetta”. Apollo is considered to be a God of music as well as many other titles, V for vendetta really represents my desire to help a worthy cause. Lots of overthinking involved, i’m just a geek at times. What is your opinion on the current status of hip-hop? I guess the best way for me to express my opinion is just say that I appreciate the energy in the artists work. The current status of Hip-Hop to me has been presenting countless opportunities for artist to adapt & incorporate more than intricate lyrics to their music. It’s the feel, the vibe, the energy. Aside from this, I think everyone enjoys good lyrics to listen to as well. How long have you been rapping for? Has anything ever held you back? Funny thing is that I started just writing stories until poetry took over for about 4 years. One of my friends heard my poems and couldn’t imagine what was being said on paper to come from me. So I tried rapping on a beat and came out with my Dreamer EP. So officially rapping, I’ve been do this for about 2-3 years. Since then I’ve been practicing to better my craft and educate myself in business. My image held me back for a long period of time. I felt like I didn’t fit into a certain criteria in Hip-Hop or maybe my music sounds too off topic in my society. It wasn’t until I randomly got over it and said to myself that the world is bigger than Florida and someone it bound to appreciate the music I’ll create for their enjoyment. Who are you currently listening to right now in the hip-hop game? I listen to so many artist in the game right now. I mostly listen to Tory Lanez, J.Cole, THEY and Xxxtentacion a lot more than others from only my hip hop playlist. What’s your message behind your song “Jump” ? “Jump” is really my promise to take myself more serious and stick to my word so that I can actually succeed in all aspects by any means necessary. Given life’s circumstances, I allowed myself to dwell on bs and not move forward with what I know I should be doing. “Jump” is that hustler by nature kind of vibe, a relatable song for an opportunist, a way of thinking, just good energy on a dope beat. • Grim Chiefa Releases "Inside"

Grim Chiefa released his latest record titled “Inside” and he knows exactly what’s selling nowadays and what records are breaking the charts because he takes that trendy sound and cultivate it into something unique for him. With the delightful trap instrumental, Grim Chiefa adds a detailed autotune to his vocals where he vocally resonate witty lyrics, fun for the upcoming spring break season. What I interpreted from this record is that Grim Chiefa is basically stating that nobody knows the emotions or the person underlying his outside persona. I also elucidated that he’s essentially proclaiming how there’s many many layers to him, and not only to him but to everyone. We can uncover these layers to the “Inside” by getting to know a person. I think it’s the most appropriate hit for those who may feel misunderstood by others. Although a deep message can be decoded behind the charismatic and bright sound, Grim Chiefa nonetheless delivers a hit song perfect for any mood you may be in. Get deep with Grim Chiefa's "Inside" by adding this track to your Spotify playlist. Familiarize yourself with Grim Chiefa's through his exclusive interview, just scroll down! Hey there! Care to introduce yourself to our readers? What prompted you to make your stage name "Grim Chiefa" ? When I first began making music I was just using my last name as my stage name. But I wanted something that was a little more unique and actually describes me. The reason I chose Grim Chiefa is because most of my music has some what of a dark undertone, and a lot of the production I enjoy using has some what of a smokey airy sound. How would you artistically interpret your single “Inside”  for our readers? My single Inside is about a Young Man realizing everything about him is what makes him great, and that he should embrace that. And eventhough you're going to be feeling down sometimes, you can still shine. Do you have any current music influences? If so who and why? My biggest music influence would have to be Kid Cudi. His music is just so honest and relatable. When I listen to his music it feels like my soul is being touched. Besides music, do you have any other hobbies or activities you enjoy doing? I enjoy playing basketball from time to time, and also Playing 2k and Madden. I'm, like, the greatest to ever play 2k, no one can see me in that. What can we look forward from you in the next coming months? I will be performing Live in Charlotte, NC April 11th at the Apostrophe Lounge. Im hoping to do a lot more live performances, and drop some visuals to bring my music alive more. Keep up to date with Grim Chiefa through his Instagram and Twitter. #BuzzMusic

  • Rolling Cole And Infrared Joined Forces To Deliver "Livin' Like a Rockstar"

Everyone loves a good collaboration! When two artists comes together and fuses their sometimes complement and sometimes unassociated styles together the result could be extravagant. Rolling Cole musically clashed with Infrared in a badass and electrifying way, collectively releasing a hit “Living Like a Rockstar”. “Living like a rockstar” begins with a hit hook that people can sing along too and become eventually agitated with the fact that they can’t help but sing it at random times of the day. I like how the hook has this delinquent and chaotic lyricism to it. The first verse with the first rapper has some of the most intricate and dope metaphorical lyrics. “Cause this country boy stay turnt, this backwood stay burnt” I loved how careless it was, giving the rebellious spirit of the rapper straight into the listener. The second verse transitions in and his flow was impeccable. His ability to keep his breathe control intact while not missing a single beat was admirable and gave him a sense of respect as a lyricist and rapper in my opinion! Jam out to "Livin' Like a Rockstar" on Spotify, and don't forget to catch the both RollingCole and Infrared's exclusive interview below! Hey guys, care to introduce yourselves to our readers? RollingCole: Hello Everybody, I’m RollingCole, also known as “Cole Buffer”. I am a 24-year-old full-time college student at the Art Institute of Atlanta. I am pursuing my bachelors degree in audio production. There aren’t really much to know about me all. The real thing to know is I’ll take my shirt off my back for you.  Infrared:I go by Infrared420. I call Kalamazoo, Michigan home and have been doing music for about seven years now but I've been a real music head my whole life. Raised on everything from old school rock to hip-hop and everything in between. Rolling Cole what prompted you to want to collaborate with Infrared? RollingCole:Truthfully I didn’t know who Infrared was until I started talking to Mitch Kutter about the 51/50 mixtape. Once I got the no the whole group and I started listening to Infrared’s music I knew how talented he was. I ended up adding his Song wolf on my playlist on Spotify. Infrared - what made you agree to the collaboration!? Infrared:Mitch asked if Cole and I would be willing to do a bonus track for the mixtape. Cole brought up the idea about doing a track based on living like rock stars, and they say write what you live about right? So it just came natural, Cole sent the hook and his verse, then I channeled my inner Ozzy Osbourne, wrote some lyrics down, hit the mic, and boom Livin' Like a Rockstar was born. What is the most challenging aspect of collaborating on a rap record? RollingCole: Well you really are hoping that the song comes out with the same vibe as you and that other artist is that you're collaborating with. You want the song to be is as vibeing to the audience as it is to the artist’s making it. So I always make sure when I’m collaborating with the artist it’s somebody that I can hear myself being a part of on a song with he or she was  on it as well. Infrared: One of the most challenging things for me when it comes to collabs is making sure everyone is on the same wave, we all like the beat, we all like the theme (if there is one) to the song. If we can't click on any of that then it's going to hurt the track, but this one went smooth, and I'm stoked to keep working with Mitch and Cole in the future. If you guys were to add ONE more artist to this song who would you add and why? RollingCole: To be honest I would want to hear kid rock on this song. Or mixing it up a little bit and get some lil John on here with a couple “Yeahhhhhssssss”! Infrared: If I could add another artist to this track I'd have to go with Corey Taylor from Slipknot, the dude can sing his ass off, he can do the brutal stuff and he can rap. Plus I think it's safe to say he knows how to live like a rockstar. Keep up to date with RollingCole on his Instagram, as well as Infrared on his. #BuzzMusic

  • NYC Native HOLDN Drops A “Fine” Hit

New York City’s own self-proclaimed ‘rhythmic disciple,' HOLDN, has made quite the arrival upon her first step into pop music with her debut single, ‘BURN’. Hailing from the alt-rock world, HOLDN brings a full plate of emotion and honesty with a sharp-toothed side of unapologetic wit to the pop table. With a dark and edgy exterior, HOLDN graciously lures you in with her mysterious aesthetic and soulful, yet haunting, melodies. The release of her newest single “Fine” is an example of representation for that mystic vibe she’s most known for. The cultivating melody charms you in with the hit beat that supports the single well and plays its role as the perfect base. I like the beginning introduction of “Fine” with the computerized vocals and electrical establishment. I liked how witty the lyrics were as well, it showed me that HOLDN knows how to fool around with good wordplay, making her a more well-rounded and standout artist in my opinion. She even showcased her poetic lyricism around the 2:25 time frame in the song where she delivers a subtle rap flow for about 10 seconds. HOLDN has all the ingredients that makes someone a star, now the only question we have is would she be able to consistently deliver hit records like this one? Add "Fine" to your Spotify playlist, and be sure to check out HOLDN's interview below! How has it been growing up in New York City? Do you think your environment and background influenced your music in any way? I lived in Jersey for most of my life, but I like to say I slept in Jersey and actually did all of my “living” in New York. Living here in nyc has been a long time coming and has always been a goal of mine. This city changed my life and made my skin as thick as the leather on my jacket (and believe me, that’s the good shit. I’m Italian. I was basically born in a leather jacket). Considering the culture of the city and it’s impact on me personally, I’d say it had a huge influence on my music stylistically and emotionally since everything I write is always very personal. I actually have the Manhattan skyline tattooed on the inside of my bottom lip because the city taught me that I always have to be quick with a sharp tongue. How would you personally describe your music style? Dark-pop. What was the inspiration behind the song “Fine” ? I find myself alone when I need people the most. I’m never one to reach out for help because I’m extremely independent and prideful. It’s my achievement and my demise. There’s a ton of text threads I saw on my phone one day and they all come to a dead end when I say “it’s fine” or “I’m fine” when I’m honestly not fine at all. People accept the word “fine” as a good enough excuse to get away with doing you wrong by not being there when you need them to be there the most. So I rely on myself. I can count on one hand (or less) the amount of people that I trust. And from that concept, “Fine” was born. How and/or where do you find inspirations for most of your songs? Rock bottom, over the moon, in the rain, in the park, on the subway, everywhere and anywhere. What else can we expect out of HOLDN through 2019? New music, tons of shows. All of that fun stuff that I love doing. Don't miss out on the latest with HOLDN by checking out her website and socials: Facebook Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • New Music: "Birdy" By Crowd Of One

In a bare, airless back room, lost in the labyrinth warehouse in Hackney, London 2014, Crowd Of One emerged. Blissfully engulfed in a haze of cigarette smoke, music instruments and computer cables...there came, the improvised yet haunting, fused melodies that cascaded down the corridors, leading to the creation of this solo project. And if you’re wondering what I’m discussing? I’m talking about the vaporous release of the single “Birdy”. The contentful and immaterial record that holds deep lyrical substance to completely capture you and ravish you into the music. The vocal tone has this insensible energy you become deaden to due to how enticing it is. It’s idiosyncratic and different from any other voice, distinguishing it and making a more of an impactful sound. What I love most about this single is how it slowly but surely built a climax in tempo. The song went from dull and subtle to passionate and medium pace. However, Crowd Of One allowed his musical expression to be displayed by channeling in whatever character he mentally selected for the song at that specific moment and it was obviously showcased. If you don’t allow “Birdy” to open your emotions and thought conviction while listening, then you’re listening to the song all wrong! What are some of the biggest factors you consider when putting together a track? Most important thing about producing a track is feeling inspired, therefore for me there is not much to consider rather than actually diving into it when it happens and most of the times it happens on its own and especially during a deep night when everyone is sleeping. If i put myself down and order him to produce then i will definitely  create something not worth while and probably delete it next morning! So, yeah imagination is bigger than the facts! What made you want to set out on a journey into the musical heart of darkness in the first place? I know no other way but the musical way of life. Since i can remember myself i have always been passionate about all the instruments there are really, and couldn't wait to get my hands on each and every one of them and start learning. With regret i can say i only play five of them , the most common ones, so far. All sounds and frequencies are different and special and therefore are unique and i always try to imprint them in my songs the way i hear them in my head and for some reason although all state of minds are equal and beautiful in their own way, i like the darker version the most! I find more character in it, happy tunes make me bored, haha! As i always quote: I like beautiful melodies , telling me terrible things! Describe what the Hackney, East London, scene is like for musicians these days East London is an amazing place for artists of all kind...You can hear all types of music in all sorts of venues, especially the underground ones, they blast with music! I would say for musicians it is great but there is also a massive competition! There are way too many musicians all around trying to make it...and we all have to walk the walk ,no one said it would be easy, but trying is winning! Have you given any thought to your musical goals? After having played many different types of music genres, either live instrumental ones or electronic twisted dance ones, i have ended up with this solo project Crowd of One in which is a One Man Show Live and  i try to give the audience a show of true effort and passion for the non conventional - commercial sound. For me if you play live and get payed to play your music, hell...you should at least work for it and give them your best, whatever that is! On that thought i do my best to produce my best and hope to reach more human ears , among other creatures in this world, haha...i would like to share this journey with as many as possible i can! After all that is when your music truly grows roots, when someone somewhere is Listening. What’s the key to bringing a song to completion and not letting it languish in hard drive obscurity? Now that is one part every musician struggles here and there! Two choices: One and best one too: All the base and feeling of the track comes at once...the kind of day you just don't stop and it comes out of you like a storm! Two and most common one: You build a sense of the feeling of the track and then you just let it go for a while! Repeating is like death for a track, it just blocks it all out! After some time you accidentally hear it and go like, now that is nice...and you grab it exactly where you left it from! There is no promise any track will ever stay with you for good, music is just a beautiful mistake and everything in between! Connect with Crowd Of One on social media: Facebook Instagram

  • Side Eyes Releases Hazy New Single “Be Lost”

Coming from San Diego, CA a new addition to your ‘Night Driving’ playlists, Side Eyes. While he’s just debuting his first single “Be Lost”, he’s still constantly working on music and is planning on dropping more releases later on. “Be Lost” is the perfect ethereal sound to fabricate a sense of belonging while listening. Regardless the mood you were in prior to listening, the moment you play this song is the moment you become infatuated by the sensational feeling of otherworldly sounds and dream-like synths. The atmospheric instrumental lacks vocals and lyrics yet still gives its listeners the freedom of expression to create a storyline they feel is most fitting for the music. It’s a great record to kickback and relax, and remove all your day to day conscious thoughts and replace it with in the moment unconscious thoughts due to the jubilation and euphoric music. Set a moment for yourself driving through the night, rain pouring, windscreen wipers wiping the water off the shield, and you’re just free from any stress at the moment, driving towards a destination where you will feel delighted and replenished. That’s the environment I pictured while listening to “Be Lost”. What was yours? Get lost in the ambience of "Be Lost" on Spotify, and scroll down to get to know Side Eyes better through their exclusive interview! What encouraged you to create the stage name “Side Eyes” ? I actually created the logo I use before I even had music recorded. So when looking for a name to put all my music under, it only made sense to try to think of a name related to “eye(s)”. Lo and behold.... SIDE EYES. Is the electronic, pop, but downbeat style of “Be Lost” the type of music you aim to create? Yeah exactly. I already have a backlog of songs ready to be released & they all have that “Be Lost” style to them without being copies of one another. “Be Lost” has this unique ability to create vivid images in our heads, what do you imagine while listening from your artist perspective? What I imagine when I listen to ‘Be Lost’ is the POV of a person driving a car at night. Mainly because that was my view when listening to demo versions of this song. How excited are you to further release more music? I’m really looking forward to finally releasing my songs to someone’s ears that isn’t just my girlfriend’s haha. What else can we expect out of you? • Artist Of The Day: Yungtrey Releases New Single “Made The Love”

YUNGTREY has a nifty little production on his hands with “Made The Love.” Recently the pop world got hooked on an easy-going Island sound typified by Rhianna’s forays towards reggae and furthered by the Latino flow of J Balvin and Willy William’s “Mi Gente.” If you take some of that energy and drop it down to a pop-soul lilt with a trap off-ramp, you’ll have an idea of the realm in which this song exists. It’s by rapper and songwriter Anthony Dumas, who hails from Houston, Texas. He only recently (April 2018) started dropping tracks on his SoundCloud. “Made The Love” has the ultra-crisp programmed drums, what sounds like subtle auto-tune and just a hint of a reverbed vocal layer. It sounds more sleek than the typical Instagram-hip-hop fare, but just as bold. It’s bangin’ like that girl you’re going to meet at the beach, tasty like the apple pie your boy hooked you up with at no charge, satisfying like how you thought the City towed your car but it turns out you just didn’t see it there. It’s music where you look stone cold on the outside, but you’re smiling deep down. And you can’t wait to see her. Listen to "Made The Love" here, and learn more about YUNGTREY in our interview below! Hey there! Great to chat with you. Care to introduce yourself to our readers? Well I go by the name of Yungtrey, but you an just call me trey. Can you give us a brief history of your musical career? I’ve been singing and writing sons since the age of 6 and I started rapping and recording sons at 11 years old. Then I started to drop songs on SoundCloud in April of last year. How did you come up with your name? Is there a meaning behind it? Trey is my middle name and I just added yung in front of it to give it that rapper appeal. Do you write your own music? Can you tell us a bit about your writing style? Yes I write all of my music. I like to listen to the instrumental of a track before I write so I can make up a flow and catchy melody. I usually think of a catchy hook then write my verse afterwards. We’re really into your new song Made The Love! Can you tell us a bit about it? Well in my opinion I feel like made the love is the best song I’ve made till this day. It’s a typical love song for everyone to vibe to. The song was made for my girlfriend. What are three things you’d love your fans to know about you? 1. I want them to know I love and appreciate all of them. 2. I want them to know I’m going to constantly stay putting out music!! 3. I want them to know I’m actually fifteen years old!! Any upcoming shows? Not at the moment but definitely in the future. Me and my team are working on it. For someone who hasn’t seen you live yet, how would you describe your performance? I would describe my live performance as an energetic, jaw dropping experience!! I want everyone who comes to a show to have fun. If you didn’t leave with one shoe or a broken arm, you didn’t turn up enough! Just joking. What’s next for you? I have a new song called problems dropping in March and another dropping in May. My project is also releasing soon just stay tuned!! Connect with YUNGTREY: Instagram Youtube #BuzzMusic
