- gP. Releases New Single "Für Zoe"
After the violent death of ghost parade in the dirty crime filled streets of Oakland, CA, the boys are reborn under the new moniker gP. The band’s significantly unique brand of dirty trip rock infused with film noir samples, trip hop beats, and driving R&B groove, masked with aggressive rock is what’s needed in today’s crowded industry of similarities and lack of differences. gP. released their single titled "Für Zoe" and it had a progressive rock sound and eclectic energy to keep its listener fully entertained. You become quickly engrossed by the finely-calibrated instruments and stratospheric aura surrounding the song. The bar is quickly raised with "Für Zoe" and the bad-ass production touches and the unorthodox sound forms one of the most intriguing songs up to date. With richly textured vocals and a storyline told through the power of dynamics, gP lyrically compels you with their highly skilled songwriting. This beautiful arrangement is actually a homage to a classic Beethoven piece, Für Elise. The track, which features Matt Fazzi (Taking Back Sunday & Rare Futures), speaks of love, regret and solitude. In this gorgeous record, vocalist Justin Bonifacio acknowledges how his fear of commitment kept him from pursuing love. The lyrics reads “Like a weak and stubborn young man, I broke her heart, cut her off, and ultimately regretted the solitude that came out of the decision. She then went on to marry and start a family, as it goes." a highly in-depth lyrical disposition to evoke the emotion the artist felt. "Für Zoe" will be on the band's EP sexindustryfolklore, which is out now! If you’re wondering how this band delivers a live performance? Well we can tell you they come to impress! Like a smoking gun and duffel bag filled with dirty money, the gP. live show will leave you sexy and dangerous, longing for more. Listen to "Für Zoe" here and get to know more about gP below! Hello and welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell our readers about gP? gP. is a trip rock band from Oakland CA. the style we try to achieve at least for now, is a blend of artificial sounds and rock instruments, with a criminal aesthetic in the visuals. When writing "Für Zoe", what was the full concept surrounding it and the motivation you had to create it? Für Zoe is a translation of a letter I once received; the last in a series of letters written to me from a woman with whom I was very much in love. When it came time to take the next step deeper into the relationship, I cut ties with her out of fear; fear of missing out on a life with no commitment or responsibility. In the letter, she implored me to step back and realize this decision would end up bad for me. She explained to me that taking on more responsibility would be enriching to my life and to refuse it, detrimental. Like a weak and stubborn young man, I broke her heart, cut her off and ultimately regretted the solitude that came out of the decision. She then went on to marry and start a family, as it goes. The song exists in the moment of the final chance she gave me to go back on my decision. She and I would listen to a lot of classical music together, and the song title is an homage to ‘Bagatelle No. 25 in A Minor,’ traditionally known as ‘Für Elise Beethoven. Describe the perfect setting for you where you can channel in the emotion of “Fur Zoe”? That song illustrated a straight up regret in my life, so I'd rather not live in that state ever again. I learned the lesson, turned it into a song, and hopefully never make the mistake again. What was it like collaborating with Matt Fazzi? Super fun! Fazzi is the man. The guy just came in and made every song so much more fun and smart. I would work with him again a million times. What can we expect to hear next from gP.? More new music. We recently recorded a couple tracks with Erik Ron in Los Angeles and we’re super stoked to release them! Warm Blizzard aka Elijah Dagley is a 20 year old, Atlanta based artist whose been interested in music ever since he was a kid, found himself intrigued by the work of others. He listened to artists like J.Cole, Tupac, OutKast and Jay-Z. Each artist played their role of inspiration in different ways for Warm Blizzard. His personal favorite, J.Cole released “Who Dat” which led to him to realizing that music was a big part of his passion. Tupac made him realize that it doesn’t matter what he says or why he says it, but how he says it. Outkast taught him that where he comes from has more significance than what the outside world knows. Warm Blizzard found his authentic voice in music and he was able to speak his truth through local rap battles. This led to constant squad practice and mastering his unique flow in which got him out of his comfort zone and helped him create a safe space for himself in the public eye. Warm Blizzard released his single titled “Love Me Now Pt 2”. "Love Me Now" was inspired by a girl who he was in a relationship with. However, Warm Blizzard continues his story with a part two that discusses the theme of heartbreak. “Love Me Now Pt. 2” is the perfect record for you heart-rendering lovers. A song that continues the venting and relatable lyrics a listener may feel while connecting with the music "Love Me Now Pt. 2" has serenading R&B melodies and a unique vocal articulation thanks to EJ’s authentic and super dope individual voice that caught me by surprise while listening! “She said love me now, please don’t waste no time,” was the leading lyric of Love Me Now, from part one that became stuck in my head and I couldn’t help but love it. I found myself repeating the lyric over and over, even when I wasn’t listening which was an indicator to me that Warm Blizzard has a way of attaching us to his music. However, in part two the leading lyric for me would be “She said she don’t love me,” hinting the overall theme of this sequel. It’s like when we watch a movie and fall in love with the characters and the relationship of two people and in the following sequel to the film, they are no longer together. It’s like “Wow, we were rooting for you”. “Love Me Now Pt. 2” is the perfect summer love jam in which we can find ourselves becoming intertwined with the music plot. My songwriting process is just starting off the best and it’ll be me just catching a vibe and coming up with whatever i freestyle and if that’s good i leave it and if i really want to get into it I’ll write but music for me and my song creations are just off the feeling i get. I don’t like to force anything just let it come naturally. What is the impact you hope this song leaves on its listeners? Jailan is a talented and self taught musician/producer from Florence, South Carolina. While he’s extremely focused on school he still finds time to learn to play piano and make music. Recently, Jailan co-produced, wrote, played bass, piano and did vocals for the chorus/hook on his newest song "Losing Grip". He teamed up with artists Chuck2x who has the second verse on the track and Neno Kasanova who has the last verse on the track. Jailan is a multi-talented and extremely ambitious artist who has all the skills to rise to the top. Listen to "Losing Grip" here and get to know more about Jalian below! Hi Jailan! What was the point in your life when you really decided to start pursuing music? I made the decision to pursue music as a career at the age of 16 as a sophomore in high school. At that time, I was playing trombone for South Florence High School’s marching band and concert band. Through those years of high school, I would use my free time for practicing my trombone, teaching myself bass guitar and music theory. However, it wasn’t until my freshman year of college that I decided to learn music production and get my footing in the music industry. I met artists like Tamaskin, Slim Finesse and Neno Kasanova who helped me with understanding the music industry and how it works. As an up and coming artist, what are some challenges you’ve faced? How have you overcome them? Some challenges that I have faced being an up and coming artist mainly deal with time. Being an artist in college is pretty difficult since I have many things on my plate to manage. Things such as keeping up with my grades, being a member of different organizations on campus and also having time to create music. What made me overcome this challenge was using a planner and also holding myself and others accountable when it came to business. What is the meaning and inspiration behind the track “Losing Grip” ? The song Losing Grip is about a relationship that is falling apart due to certain circumstances such as the lost of trust, insecurities taking over the bond between two lovers which leads to one person losing grip on the other person’s heart. Inspiration came from early 2000s R&B music and also the vibe that live instrumentation creates which is why we used real bass and electric guitar on this track. How do you balance school and your musical passion? I balance school and my passion for music through my major ha ha. Which is Arts Management with a concentration in the Music Industry. So, while I am learning about the business of music and how to pursue a career in the music industry. I find time on the weekends to practice my craft and better my skills with music. Can we expect a full EP from you soon? I’ve defintely thought about it but stay tuned Connect with Jailan on social media: Instagram: www.Instagram.com/@j.a.ws Twitter: www.twitter.com/@Ja1lan

- This Genre Defining Classic “Bards With Beards” By Social Smokers Club Is Taking Us By Storm
Emerging as a voice for the misunderstood, Social Smokers Club is echoing from deep within the rural hear of Prospect, Nova Scotia, Canada. Utilizing the unfortunate as a muse to be an imperative voice against ignorance and inspired by a chaotic generation lead by the ill-willed, SSC is weaving their imaginary-filled, thought-provoking lyrics through an eerily hopeful collection of hard rock, indie rock, alternative and folk. SSC is creating a journey through the forest of the subconscious properly dubbing their sound as ‘Woods Rock’. Forming in the dead winter of 2016 and beginning as four sing-songwriters who brought each other’s music to life, some songs were writing long before they existed as a band and they began to notice these inseparable similarities within atmosphere and within the consistent “chaos of nature” inspired the words they wrote. With each member signing their respected songs, and re-creating the songs as one, they began to share their story throughout their hometown, selling out the back of a local thrift shop and thus further honing their craft (in true punk-rock fashion). The amount of vulnerability portrayed in their music and the intimacy of the setting has helped create the basis for their local audience. SSC released their long-awaited debut LP “The Woods” on March 15, 2019. “Bards with Beards” is an upbeat and eccentric song that is bound to get your head bobbing along with timeless guitar sounds, and suave, sultry vocal lines that have a hint of rasp to then. With an almost salsa like guitar riff at the beginning then going into a more electric sound, it really sounds fantastic blending with the vocals. Flip forward to the guitar solo that sends this song to another dimension and gives you that raw outdoorsy feel. I love the subtle harmonies scattered throughout this track that match the lead singer’s vocals so perfect and effortlessly. Social Smokers Club has left their mark in the music industry with this definition of a new genre called Woods Rock, bringing their own eclectic sound to the table and leaving their audiences in awe. I personally love the personal nature of the lyrics, and the vocalist does a great job of making it seem like the song is his own story to tell. He has embedded himself in the lyrics and you can hear the emotion behind each note whether in the melody or in the accompanying instrumental parts. This song is a new classic that I highly suggest adding to your playlist! Listen to “Bards with Beards” here and get to know more about Social Smokers Club below! Hey SSC! Fantastic to catch up with you all! Can you tell us a bit about each of yourselves and how you created Social SmokersClub? Jack, Tyler and I, went to the same High School in Halifax. Tyler was a couple years older, while Jack and I were in the same grade. Jack and I had English class together during our senior year, where we did a book report together on the novel, “Orphan Train” which our teacher gave us full creative freedom. So, obviously - we wrote a song. The final product/project was “Raven, Bear, Fish” which can be heard on our debut LP. The 3 of us later got together to jam Winter of 2016, after Jack and Tyler had also written a few songs together. When we realized our connection and vibes were inseparable, we knew we needed a drummer to turn the vision into something complete, and we only had one person in mind — fellow local musician and long-time High School friend(different H.S than the rest of us), Andre. Defining a new genre is a big move! What made you as a band decide that you needed a genre that defined your music so well? As Canadian kids growing up within a rural part of our province, and are heavily inspired by Canadian musicians with a similar up-bringing - we think there's an interesting connection between our music and nature. After trying and failing to describe our sound in any “traditional“ sense that would do it justice, we eventually settled on the idea that there wasn’t anything as vast and as endless as the sounds of The Woods, thus: Woods Rock. What is the meaning behind “Bards with Beards”? "Bards with Beards” is a metaphor for a reckless musician following their own sound, no matter what anyone tells them. To give our full explanation would be useless endeavour. As the construct of poetry is - up to whomever chooses to pay attention to decipher what it means to them. Music feels, and means something different to us all. What drives your passion as a group to continuously write music? A wise man once told us: “A lazy artist, isn’t an artist at all.” What instruments can be heard throughout your LP that we can listen for? Guitar, bass, drums and vocals. We had a lot of people who thought the lead part in “Bards” (as well as various other instances throughout the record) was a synth, but nope - just Tyler and his guitar. What’s next for Social Smokers Club in 2019? We’re working with an amazingly wonderful Cinematographer from our hometown on a music video to exemplify “The Woods”. And hey, our next record is practically already written, as well. Our little chaotic generation still has more to be spoken for and we won’t stop until we’re 6 feet under. We have shit to do until then. - Smoke Codeine Releases “No Flights”
Smoke Codeine is an 20 year old artist out of Raleigh, North Carolina who’s an aspiring rapper and been producing since middle school. He found his voice for rapping as of late last year, and his music influences doesn’t necessarily include other artists, but rather various styles of rapping which includes soft, monotone, angry, and abrogate. He was heavily influenced by EDM production and has now transformed himself into a more upbeat and melodic rapper. Smoke Codeine released his latest hit called “No Flights” and he incorporated his multiple different stylistic inspirations and fused a refreshing mix that produced an evergreen sound. Smoke Codeine raps in a trendy, staccato delivery with a slight soft whispery aura surrounding the texture of it. It sort of reminded me of a hit The Migos will do! The autotune, wavy production, and appealing delivery gave the song a nice flare. “No Flights” has the right energy for a party and to get you vibing. Smoke Codeine is representing the new era of rappers who delivers the club hits! He knows how to get the crowd enticed, and listeners coming back for more. After listening to “No Flights” I found myself longing for more music from this artist. He’s an intricate creator and you can tell he focuses on the changing trends of music, to help perfect his craft at only 20 years old. Smoke Codeine has the game down pact, and the sound to match! He’s an energetic artist on the rise for fame, and this is simply the beginning! Listen to "No Flights" here and get to know more about Smoke Codeine below! What are some major differences and obstacles you face between recording music and producing it? The major one for me is sound. If I produce a track and it has a good melody but my recording is out of key or is pitched to high, it messes the whole track up for me. Then we’re back at ground zero. So to compensate for the lapse in melody or pitch, I usually go in a tweak the production so that the vocals sound good with the track. When I was younger producing was easier for me being that I never recorded, but now that i have figured out how to, it’s more of trying to figure what type of filters I can put on my vocals or the track to make it stand out. Tell us about the single “No Flights” and what motivated you to create this? Okay, so No Flights was a track out of my comfort zone. I’m more of a slow, melodic sounding person. My significant other pushes me to step out of that, and be more upbeat and rapid. The track itself is a premention for the future, saying to any female, that hey I’m takin. I can’t get you right on money, on love, on friendship, none of that. But most of all I can not, nor will I ever fly a female out. ANYWHERE. Out of all the styles you’re influenced by as a rapper, which did you incorporate the most in “No Flights” ? So out of all the styles I’m influenced by, I only used one in the song. It was a difficult track to grasp, so I started out with a soft monotone style but halfway I scrapped it because it was too dull. So I kind of adopted more of an Lil Uzi style, and a lot of my friends tell me I sound like him because of the way I switch my voice in some of track and how elaborate my lyrics are. The style is the most difficult for me to comprehend because I do it and I sound original because it is, but for my close friends to agree and say that I sound like him in my own way is fine with me. How does the title of the song, “No Flights” reflect the theme !? So the song title has everything to do with the theme. I’m basically saying aye you all over me, hop of pass to team. What’s new for you this summer, Smoke Codeine? This summer is going to be the best summer to make music and get myself heard all over the world. I will dropping a couple tapes here and there, and even an album If my team is up to it. But look forward to a new sound that no one has ever heard. - Haunting And Eerie “Devil In The Streets” By Young Socrates Will Give You Chills
“Kill The Gods” is an album by Young Socrates based on the 1942 Albert Camus book “The Myth of Sisyphus” and influenced by Camus’ philosophy that touches on the moments in our lives when daily routine, such as going to work and back, and all our efforts seem pointless and misdirected much like that of pushing a rock up a hill. Calling back to Camus’ philosophy as a solution to his nihilistic point of view, Socrates uses unique synth melodies and one of a kind production to create a thrilling, energetic and sometimes scary soundscape that elevates the dark gritty and introspective lyrics. Kill The Gods is available on all streaming platforms. “Devil In The Streets” is a haunting and eerie track that makes me feel like I’m caught in the heat of a good horror movie right before the action is about to begin. With lyrics and melodic lines that send you into a trance with the hypnotic flow of each unique and thrilling noise found throughout this song. Songs like “Devil In The Streets” that have complicated layers and specific lyrics often are trying to deliver a message to the listener, and Young Socrates does a phenomenal job of luring his audience to listen closely and try to decipher the meaning behind the words. Socrates voice has a lower tone to it, but he doesn’t hesitate from his melody and shows real talent in creating a beautiful flow to his lyrics and an unforgettable beat. “The world is evil, weapons lethal” is just topics mentioned in this emotion and passion packed track as Socrates talks about issues happening in our society, what it’s like and even mentions “The devil walking in the streets” which could be a reference to all the temptation that humans have around us more recently. “Devil In The Streets” is a deep, methodic and philosophical track that I highly suggest you take a dive into and further ponder all the tiny details of this big song. Listen to "Devil In The Streets Here and get to know more about Young Socrates below! Hey Young Socrates! What an interesting and profound sound! Can you tell us a bit more about yourself and how you found your passion for music? I fell in love with music at an early age. I started trying to write songs when I was 10, singing along to Disney channel trying to deconstruct and understand how the songs were written. I think it's funny how I'm a rapper who learned how to make music from the Disney channel. What is the meaning behind “Devil In The Streets” and what message are you trying to deliver to your listeners through the album? Devil in the streets is the single from my EP kill the gods. Kill the gods is an alternative hip-hop EP exploring themes from the 1942 Albert Camus book “The Myth of Sisyphus” on the EP I use a dark and alternative sound scape to portray what it's like to be in the head of someone who is realizing that their best efforts are worth nothing, and realizing that everything is worthless. The original mythology of Sisyphus shows a man cursed by the gods to push a rock up a hill for all eternity, and Everytime he reaches his goal the rock falls down the hill again making him have to push the rock right back up the hill. This I a cruel punishment be for in his life on Earth his goal was to evade death so in the afterlife he was punished to an eternity of meaningless labor. In the book Camus describes the moments in our lives when ideas of the world no longer fit with what we see, when our daily routine seem pointless and misdirected. I wanted to make every track accurately depict what this feels like but ultimately give meaning to this feeling. I don't propose a solution to this feeling because I believe that the only way to escape this Nihilistic point of view is by embarrassing it and finding solace in absurdism, because nothing really matters. I made Devil in the streets to help myself give meaning find meaning in chaos occupying my mind being raised in a Christian house hold coming to this absurdist realization flipped my world upside down and made me question everything I believed in. What is your creative process like for new music and finding new sounds? I never stop writing I'm always working on new ideas for songs and concept it's a lot easier to have fresh ideas if you don't quit looking. Are there any other philosophers that inspire you and where else do you draw inspiration from? I'm a big fan of Albert Camus, and I draw the most inspiration from my surroundings. What’s next for Young Socrates in 2019? More music and hopefully a tour in the fall, I'm independent so everything is on my shoulders. - Lo-fi Artist Maimo Introduces Debut Release “Standing On The Ground”
Maimo is a Minneapolis, Minnesota based lo-fi producer and songwriter. Maimo grew up in the Chicagoland area and has been playing the guitar since the age of 9, and he first started to write music at the age of 14. His past projects include Kudu Fang, a progressive rock quartet, and Proper Folk, a dub/afrobeat/dream pop quintet. Maimo’s debut release is called “Standing on the Ground”. Immediately the listener is confronted with a very characteristic guitar tone that only hints at lo-fi. The vocals that ensue are great; rhythmic, soulful, and definitely indicative of a lo-fi vibe. This song has a refreshing arrangement, with all sorts of guitar sounds, some of which are so out there that they even resemble other instruments such as the organ. The mood of the vocals is at once melancholy and hopeful, striking a strange but satisfying balance between two opposite emotions. The way that the guitar and the vocals interact together rhythmically is a really gratifying thing to listen to. About three minutes in, the song undergoes a tremendous dynamic shift that somehow just fits in perfectly with everything else. Saxophones, of all instruments, are then introduced and utilized to great effect. Maimo clearly has a handle on his abilities and has cultivated a truly unique sound. We recommend you check out “Standing on the Ground” today! Listen to “Standing on the Ground” here and get to know more about Maimo below! Hey, thanks for chatting with us! Would you start by describing a bit about your background and why you became interested in music and songwriting? I'm from a small suburb of Chicago called Lisle. My parents both played music growing up, so I grew up listening to a wide range of musical genres. A lot of jazz, soul, rock and pop oldies from 1960-1980, My mom has a terrible memory, but can probably remember the lyrics to every song ever made from that time. She says that when I was in the womb, she would put speakers up to her stomach and I would kick along with the beat. When I was a little older, I remember being totally absorbed for hours in complete amazement by all the textures and colors that music painted in my mind. I never lost that joy and curiosity that good music brings. I got my first guitar in fifth grade for my birthday. It was a burgundy Fender Stratocaster, and I've been playing music ever since. My parents recognized my passion before I did, and made the right decision getting me a guitar that year. Who would you say are your biggest artistic influences? Although a solid record or a great live performance makes me wants to do nothing but write, my biggest artistic influences aren't usually musicians. I'm most influenced by the idea of music as a therapeutic device. I always been fascinated by sonic qualities and the emotional responses they produce. For example, binaural beats are incredible. It's simply two frequencies played at the same time in different ears that cause specific reactions to occur in your brain. That's amazing to me. Or the opposite, sound deprivation and the ability to make your mind fill in the blanks until you hallucinate. I feel good music is the happy medium between those ideas, It can be a cacophony or a deliberate silence. Both are overwhelming to the senses and need each other the same way that tension and resolve need each other in a good story. Music is just that, a story. You use a lot of really interesting sounds on your new release, “Standing on the Ground”. Does this eclectic mix of things come naturally to you or do you think a lot about what you want to do in a song? Thanks! When I wrote "Standing on the Ground" back in 2017, I was listening to The Eagles and a lot of disco music. I don't think the song sounds anything like either, really. That being said, I don't usually attempt or not attempt to make anything sound like a certain musician or group. The influence came in the form of lyrics as I listened to Trump's inauguration on the radio in a van I was driving for my job at the time. I was dumbfounded like a lot of us were (and still are). Things felt bleak. It was a cold winter in Minnesota (as they usually are) and I was going through a turbulent time personally. Though the song doesn't have any real political connotation to it, I felt hopeless, frustrated and alone and the creation flowed naturally. Would you mind describing what your writing process is like? I don't write with any particular method. I approach every song differently, though most of the ideas I consider worth something start as loops. Since I write and record everything by myself, I typically do a lot of writing with loopers which can be somewhat maddening. Just ask my girlfriend who has to listen to the process in our home. (Thanks, Angelique.) Most songs I write come out all at once. I've set up my studio to track songs as quickly as I can be inspired. Some days, I enter my studio and come up with absolutely nothing. Some days, a wave of inspiration finds me and within a few hours a song is done. What can we hope to see from you in the future? Hopefully more music sometime soon! It took three years to find the right eight tracks for the record. I must have written thirty or forty songs before I could narrow it down to something cohesive. My next move is to shoot videos for as many of the songs as I can. I don't know much about cinematography, but I enjoy everything DIY and I plan to keep it that way with my videos. - Bigga$tate Released His Single Titled “Lil Baby”
Bigga$tate is a Chicago born hip-hop and Rnb artist who doesn’t simply just song write. He’s simply a freestyle artist who has earned over a million streams and views from his choice as well as sounding like a different artist almost every song. He’s sold over 350 shows and opened for various artists including Afroman, Wifisfuneral, and Kashdoll. After that, Bigga$tate has just been on the go with constant performances and various different accomplishments that have proven to be the rising success of this artist. Bigga$tate released his single titled “Lil Baby” and this single was highly dope and super trendy. The song begins with a melodic piano introduction with a transporting trap beat. Bigga$tate initiating lyrics hinted themes of proving others wrong and showcased the passion and drive he had to be a success. Bigga$tate is undeniably talented and has the correct delivery to really project his emotions and thoughts. Bigga$tate is not trying to fabricate an image or be like anybody else in the music industry. Instead, he’s incorporating the popular sounds we know and love in today’s hip-hop culture while also showcasing his own individual swag and flow. Bigga$tate music appeal is purely fire! It translates well across the platform of motivation due to the inspiring lyricism, while also remaining balance in being “fun” Bigga$tate has nothing but musicality to give us, and he displays that in “Lil Baby”. I personally believe, Lil Baby will make a great mainstream record due to the attractive radio airplay presence it has. Bigga$tate doesn’t curate the transparent image most rappers do. Instead, “Lil Baby” correctly adds emphasis to the raw and uncut of characterized rap! This song is a smash! Listen to “Lil Baby” here and get to know more about Bigga$tate below! - Maaley Releases His Single “Real One”
Maaley released his single titled “Real One”, a refreshing sensual Rnb hit! Maaley has a solid vocal tone with a smooth resonance and he completely shocks us with his range. He not only takes his voice through all registers including low and high, but he serenades his listener with an enticing high-pitched whistle note, carried with complete control and quality. The style of his voice is highly distinguishable yet classic. It reminds me a lot like those talented rnb vocalists who gave us some of the most contemporary timeless bops. Artists like Chris Brown, Trey Songz, Usher, and Ne-yo can take credit for this and it looks as if Maaley is the future of the unchanging Rnb music. The passionate lyrics help create the light-hearted raunchy vibe that’s credited to the aura the beat has. “Real One” has a harmonically rich hook carried with a silk-like texture. Despite the texturized voice of Maaley, “Real One” leaves you yearning for more. It’s one of those songs that just deserves an instant replay. “Real One” could fit right in the plethora of “Love jams” that we know we must have on our playlists! Although it holds similarities to a lot of iconic classics, it’s undeniably individual to Maaley, and holds its place on its own. “Real One” is a song that evokes repetitive plays with the lush acoustics from Maaley’s voice and the head banging beat with a touch of romance! Listen to "Real One" here and get to know more about Maaley below! Mind introducing yourself to our readers Maaley and telling us a little bit about your background!? My name is Maaley, I am 25 years old. Born in Queens, New York, raised in Connecticut. Music has been a part of my life from a very early age, and I can say that it is my one, true love. Ever since I was able to speak I was singing. I went to Southern Connecticut State University and graduated with my vocal music degree. I produce, engineer, sing, rap, dance, play piano and guitar. Do you have any musical influences? If so who and why!? My musical influences are Boyz 2 Men, and all 90s RnB like Dru Hill, Brian McKnight. They really knew how to sing and had the passion/talent, you could hear it when they sang they sang from their heart. Tupac was my rapping influence, nowadays my influences stem from Frank Ocean, Drake, and artists of that nature. Their writing, the way they paint pictures for audiences and the words they put together to portray their feelings and help connect audiences to the situations are amazing. That's how I like to write my music. What are some challenges you’ve faced while creating “Real One” ? Some challenges I faced while creating "Real One" was trying to make sure the audience stayed engaged and making sure they felt what I was saying because it is s song both men and women can relate to. So I tried my best to make it easy for people to connect with the words I was saying and pictures I tried to paint. As well as keeping it all relevant. What inspired you to write “Real One” ? did you have a special somebody in mind? At the time of writing "Real One" nothing significant that aligned with the topic was happening in my life but I took some old feelings from a past love interest and used it to write it. I came up with the main lines "Come be with a real one. You've been dealing with busters I know that's a part of your problem." I freestyles that in the car while listening to the beat and I was able to write the full song using motivation from my past What’s next for you? I just released my debut EP "Mark My Words" on all music streaming outlets, which includes "Real One", but I my debut album "Letter To Life" is in the works right now and I plan on releasing it end of summer, beginning of autumn. I also plan on touring around the East coast during the summer. Also, look out for Maaley Merch going to be sold everywhere in the beginning of June.
