  • Django Walker Gives Thanks To His Biggest Idol On His Charming New Single “My Hero”

Sometimes, our biggest heroes don’t come with capes. Born and raised in Austin, TX, Django Walker truly has music in his blood. His early years were spent absorbing the sounds of Texas legends like Willie Nelson, Townes Van Zandt, and Guy Clark, all of whom played with and befriended his father. Although he comes from a rich musical legacy, Django has carved out his own path, penning hits for artists like Pat Green, Jimmy Buffett, Josh Abbott, and Kevin Fowler. As he continues to write a rich musical legacy for himself, make sure to keep your eye on this rising star. Inspired by his father, legendary Texas singer-songwriter Jerry Jeff Walker, Django Walker’s new single “My Hero” offers listeners an intimate glimpse into the personal heroes who shape our lives. “My Hero” was penned by Django during the challenging final days of his father’s life, and reflecting on the experience, Walker shares, “He wasn’t doing great and I wanted to write something to say that our heroes don’t have to meet a certain criteria. They just have to be OUR hero.” Soft, intimate, and gentle, “My Hero” dives deep into the emotional connections that define our heroes, showcasing Walker’s storytelling prowess and ability to evoke profound sentiments. Walker reminisces on all the lessons his father taught him, from teaching him “how to play this old six-string guitar” as well to “how to laugh and how to love / and how to be a good friend.” Noting that his hero wore “Blue jeans and a cowboy hat,” “My Hero” aims to inspire listeners to find and cherish their own heroes, even if they may not wear a cape. • Buzz Exclusive: Chris Gullace Unpacks Latest Single "Fun To Play Pretend" From Upcoming Album

Welcome to Buzz, Chris! Congratulations on finally rolling out some songs from your upcoming album, Circumstances. What made you want to release "Fun To Play Pretend" first? I think fun to play pretend is the perfect song for the summer. It has this catchy guitar intro that reminds me of those old-school 60s songs from Motown that make you hum along to the guitar. If people are singing parts that don’t even have words you know you are heading in the right direction as a songwriter. I just love this song and the story of young love finding each other in the summer. But will it last forever? What life experiences or moments inspired the lyrical content in "Fun To Play Pretend?" We have all had crazy summers growing up. You meet someone and all the chemistry and attraction is there. You wonder will this be a forever thing? Will we know each other in September? How does "Fun To Play Pretend" relate to the overall theme of your album Circumstances? How does it tie into the album's core? I recorded this album in Nashville, so the experience really shaped the songs. I was inspired by country singer-songwriters like Chris Stapleton and Willie Nelson. It truly is a happy-sounding record because I was just in heaven being able to record it at Off The Row Studios. Did you work with any musicians or producers when creating "Fun To Play Pretend?" Who helped you bring this song to life? I co-wrote this album with Danny Wells, who wrote iconic songs for George Strait and Rascal Flatts, to name a few, and with Erin McCaffrey, who owns Off The Row Studios. I worked with producer PT Houston, who has worked with so many incredible artists. He brought out the best in me, and we didn’t settle until the songs were perfect. What do you hope listeners take away from "Fun To Play Pretend?" What did you want to make them think and feel? I want them to learn the song and make it part of their lives. If I achieve that, I did my job, and I can go to sleep at night proud that my art made someone happy. Instagram

  • WITHOUT A SIN Delivers Hauntingly Captivating Experience With "BLOOD"

Rising alternative R&B and emo rock band WITHOUT A SIN has just released their latest single and accompanying music video, "BLOOD," and it's an experience that will leave you both haunted and captivated. Comprising Amin Vxmpire on vocals, Max on guitar, and Remy on drums, WITHOUT A SIN blends diverse musical elements, drawing inspiration from groups like Chase Atlantic and Bring Me The Horizon. With their previous independent singles amassing millions of streams, "BLOOD" takes their artistry to new heights, inspired by the manga Tokyo Ghoul. From the first note, "BLOOD" immerses you in a dark and atmospheric soundscape. Amin Vxmpire's vocals are raw and emotive, conveying a sense of inner turmoil and desperation. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of a protagonist grappling with temptation and the desire to escape their own mind. The music video for "BLOOD" is equally as compelling. It follows Amin Vxmpire as he navigates the gritty streets and back alleys, eventually finding himself in an underground bar where he performs with the band. As the night progresses, he spirals into an intoxicated and painful state, ultimately waking up in a torture chamber. The visuals are dark and unsettling, perfectly complementing the song's themes of inner demons and the struggle for freedom. WITHOUT A SIN's "BLOOD" is a prime example of their ability to craft music that is both sonically captivating and emotionally resonant. With its haunting melodies, powerful vocals, and thought-provoking visuals, "BLOOD" is a must-listen for fans of alternative music that pushes boundaries. Prepare to be taken on a journey that will leave you both unsettled and inspired. Immerse yourself in WITHOUT A SIN's latest single, "BLOOD," available now on all digital streaming platforms. "Welcome to Buzz, WITHOUT A SIN! Your latest single, "BLOOD," is a hauntingly beautiful exploration of inner turmoil and temptation. What inspired you to write this song?" Response: We drew inspiration from the story of Kaneki, the main character from the manga Tokyo Ghoul, for both the lyrics and the overall atmosphere of the music video. Specifically, we drew from the iconic scenes and the overarching storyline to create a haunting and immersive experience. The song and video delve into the struggle of not fitting in, resonating with Kaneki Ken's inner conflict of being a ghoul while living a human life. "BLOOD" seamlessly blends elements of alternative R&B, emo rock, and even manga influences. How did you approach creating this unique sound?" Initially, we considered using neo soul/R&B chords, but then we had the idea to incorporate sound design elements from anime. However, our aim was to retain our core emo influences. Then, we had this breakthrough moment where we thought, "What if Bring Me The Horizon and Chase Atlantic collaborated?" This led to the creation of "BLOOD," our own genre which we like to call emo RnB! "The music video for "BLOOD" is visually striking and complements the song's dark themes perfectly. What was the creative process behind bringing this visual narrative to life?" Creating the music video was quite a challenge. We aimed to recreate one of the most iconic scenes from Tokyo Ghoul. Fans of the series might recognize this scene instantly; for those unfamiliar, I highly recommend checking out the anime! The most challenging part was finding suitable locations to recreate Tokyo Ghoul's visual universe. We rented a bar in Paris ( the Atomic Cat Bar) and for the "torture" scene, we constructed the set ourselves, which was a real timing challenge. Afterward, we gathered as much equipment as possible to create a dark and eerie atmosphere, even purchasing a centipede for one of the scenes. Don't worry; the centipede is doing just fine and living its best life with our drummer, Rémi! "Lyrically, "BLOOD" delves into some heavy topics, such as the struggle with inner demons and the desire for escape. How do you balance conveying these emotions while still creating a song that resonates with listeners?" At first, drawn by the instrumental's tone, we considered crafting a dark R&B track revolving around themes of heartbreak and toxic relationships. However, we felt compelled to infuse more rawness, a touch of gore, and a deeper emo essence. That's when we decided to explore the inner conflict of not fitting in and brought the idea of Kaneki Ken's to the table. Our goal was to convey the complex emotions experienced by the protagonist of Tokyo Ghoul while ensuring the song remained relatable to anyone who has experienced remotely similar feelings. "As a band, you've amassed millions of streams on your previous releases. How do you feel "BLOOD" represents your growth as artists, and what do you hope fans take away from this new single?" Our journey began with "FRI-END," our first single, which embodied the essence of alt emo rock. We then pivoted to release "COLORS," a more pop-infused emo track. With our latest single, "BLOOD," we've ventured into uncharted territory. Our love for music knows no bounds; our playlists range from Kpop to Deathcore, Hyperpop to R&B. The overarching mission of WITHOUT A SIN is to explore diverse genres while maintaining our unique emo identity. We're thrilled to have attracted a new wave of fans, particularly from TikTok and the internet community, whom we affectionately refer to as the new alt generation. In essence, we aspire to become a pioneering internet emo band for the new generation. Instagram

It's a passionate, playful, and uplifting listening experience that not only showcases Lauren Hulbert's talented vocals but also her ability to write great songs about the universal experience of love. When life's been bitter, bite into the "Honeydew" that is Lauren Hulbert's latest single, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Lauren! We love the passionate and playful vibe of your latest single, "Honeydew." What inspired you to write such a romantic song like this? I wrote "Honeydew" in the early stages of a romantic relationship. It was the first time I'd been with someone who I could see or dream a future with, and at times, it felt like a dream itself. This song was written when I was in the blissful feelings of opening up to someone and falling in love. He was a writer, which I adored, and the outro lyrics are a repetition of "I love you when you write," which was me saying that I loved when he was engaging in his passion. Would you say that "Honeydew" is a good representation of your sound and style as an artist? How does this song represent you? "Honeydew" is a good representation of my indie-folk style, and although I have other songs with much heavier themes, they all have a common thread of authenticity, honesty, vulnerability, depth, and understanding, often with sweetness and simplicity. What I like most about this song, which I'd say is part of my songwriting style, is the folky finger-picking, interesting chord variations, simple yet clever lyrics, and beautiful ending. I especially love the production, with sparkly synth after I sing "I will bloom for you," which always has me visualizing a flower blooming. This song represents the sweet, light-hearted side of me that just wants to lay in the grass and look at the sky and dream and sing and have no worries, which is what I wish I could do most of the time, honestly! What was your songwriting process like for "Honeydew?" Was it easy for you to convey such passionate and personal emotions? I began with the opening riff first, then chords, melody next and lyrics last. I typically write songs by messing around on the guitar until I like what I hear and go from there. The opening riff is what was created first - so I guess you could say that is what gave the emotions I was feeling some direction. It was one of those songs that happens really easily, naturally and didn't take long to finish. The lyric "Honeydew" just came out - I didn't know what it meant and still don't, ha! But the song is sweet like honey and fresh like dew... I trust myself to come up with lyrics out of nowhere, rather than thinking about it first. So I guess that random lyric also helped shape the song's theme. The second verse was written last and took the longest... I had to wait for it to feel right... Finally, one day, I was outside watching a bee on a flower, and then it came to me. What was your experience shooting the music video for "Honeydew?" What was that behind-the-scenes process like? It was wild, to be honest. I co-directed this with Wren Huxley, who I know through friends. I was visiting Sebastopol, where I'd always pictured filming this video, and therefore had limited time but she was available to make it happen. I originally thought we would do a simple, half-day shoot, but once we got our ideas flowing together, it became a fantastical other-worldly story! It was stressful since the project became much bigger than we'd both expected, but we are both super proud of how much we did in such a short amount of time. It all came together and the supporting actors appeared sort of serendipitously, which, looking back, actually fits right into the theme of the film! It felt great to finally be making a music video for this song, and I felt lots of love and support from my friends, who donated their time and acting to make it possible. More specifically, we first got together to brainstorm ideas for the story, locations, and costumes. We scouted a couple of places and had some friends recommend spots, too. We ended up with 3 locations - a flower farm, a local park, and her friend's land - over 3 days of shooting, and we had to postpone one shoot day due to a heat wave. We both rallied friends and I made some flower faces and shopped for props. It was just Wrenna and I organizing the entire thing and co-directing with a fluid shot list of scenes, which we intuitively altered or changed while we were shooting. It was A LOT to do in such a short amount of time since it was just the two of us taking responsibility for the whole thing, and we planned it so last minute. Pretty wild, looking back, but we pulled it off. It was fun, overwhelming, and stressful, and I was completely exhausted by the end. It was worth it. What did you want listeners to take away from "Honeydew?" What emotions or sensations did you want to make them feel? The message of the music video is that life can be silly and playful! Enjoy the journey! It's not just the destination. Let yourself into that wonderful child-like state of curiosity and adventure. View life through a fantastical lens, where you will hear nature speaking to you and things guiding you along your way. Drink the tea. Jump in the water. Fall in love. Do it all again. I hope the song makes people feel joyful, warm, light-hearted, hopeful, safe, and excited for what's next. I hope it reminds them that love is magical. Instagram Facebook

  • Chris Bullinger Sparks Flames In New Release, “Darlin’ ’n’ Me”

Coming in hot from Nashville, singer-songwriter and country recording artist Chris Bullinger smacks the speakers with a heavily groovy new single titled "Darlin' 'n' Me." Influenced by the storytelling stylings of icons like Bob Dylan, Townes Van Zandt, and Steve Earle, Chris Bullinger's career did a 180 when he became a leader in one of North America's significant renewable energy companies. With his love for music coursing through his veins and over a hundred songs written, Chris returned to music with a new outlook. Treating listeners to the new and improved Chris Bullinger is his newest release, "Darlin' 'n' Me," the lead single from his upcoming album Waitin' To Be Seen, hitting streaming platforms on August 16. The Tennessee-based artist says "I always felt it was a disservice not to share these songs. I'm thankful that they're now out there, ready to connect with anyone, be it just one person or a million." Jumping into "Darlin' 'n' Me," we're met with a twangy and bright electric guitar that leads into a bluesy midwest instrumental alongside Chris Bullinger's gritty and melodic vocals reminiscent of his musical influences. From the jump, he creates an insanely groovy atmosphere that's bound to get you up and moving to the dancefloor. The song's playful and witty lyrics paint various scenes of him and his darlin' heading to the market and the garden, getting wrapped up in this woman's mysterious ways. The country-meets-blues instrumentals are top-tier, making it an instant crowdpleaser at any party. If anything, it's a perfect example of Chris B's new and improved style. Hear it yourself and feast your ears on Chris Bullinger's latest single, "Darlin' 'n' Me," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Chris! We love the energy and rhythm in your recent single, "Darlin' 'n' Me." What inspired you to create this tune? Thanks for having me.  This tune really sprang out of the concept of how great it would be to be as beautiful as other people see you sometimes.  Or as the song says, even half as beautiful. What sounds or styles influenced the instrumental feel of "Darlin' 'n' Me?” Who or what might have helped bring this song to life? A number of folks are telling me they hear Dylan vibes, which is totally cool with me. If you’re influenced by what you listen to most, then that would make perfect sense. Regarding the video for "Darlin' 'n' Me," what was it like working with Actuality Films to bring this impressive animation to life? Was this your first animated video made by them? What a great experience working with Actuality Films.  They actually animated a song from my previous album, How to Bleed, and I couldn’t wait to collaborate again.  And that’s really what it is—collaboration.  I storyboard what I’m envisioning, and they’ve got a similar sense of style or crazy or whatever you wanna call it.  So they just run with it and add in so many clever details.  Super fun. Why did you choose to release "Darlin 'n' Me" as the lead single from your upcoming album Waitin' To Be Seen? How does this song prepare listeners for what's to come? Waitin’ To Be Seen is a double album that is laid out like a collection of vignettes, in chronological order.  It’s all about seeking connection, maybe finding it, maybe losing it, and what it really takes to achieve it.  The main characters are a gal and a guy, or—said another way—a darlin’ n’ me.  This particular song is the one vignette that’s a little snapshot of the whole album. Could you drop any hints about your upcoming album, Waitin' To Be Seen? Where do you plan on taking the album, and what are you most excited about? I’m pretty stoked about it, as crazy as it may be to release a twenty-three-song concept album these days.  Singles, I suppose, is the name of the game, but I’d like to imagine listeners starting at the beginning and listening to the twenty-three songs and taking in the entire story.  The album is about seeking connection, but it’s also actually an effort to connect.  And that possibility—that this album may connect with even one person—is exciting to me. • Tyler Allred Follows Up "Anxious Anyway" With New Music Video

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter and versatile recording artist Tyler Allred returns with an introspective new music video for his latest single, "Anxious Anyway." In a recent interview, the expressive singer-songwriter dove into the simplicity and "bare-bones" approach of his recent single, "Anxious Anyway," stating that "it gives a pretty good sense of where I think my music is heading...just guitars, vocals, and drums." As Tyler himself puts it, the song and, by extension, the music video is not crafted with a prescriptive message in mind. They are open to interpretation, making them an empathetic expression of challenging human emotions that anyone can appreciate. While the song itself is quite bare-bones, so is the music video. The visuals for "Anxious Anyway" see Tyler Allred strolling Santa Monica Pier solo in black and white. It seems to be a very introspective music video. Considering the song itself is very emotional and personal, it portrays those anxious thoughts he sings of perfectly but from a unique angle. As he treats himself to cotton candy alone and plays a few games solo, you notice that he's not performing at all. He's just going about his day. But that might represent the ongoing "anxious" thoughts he sings of, as he might seem cool on the outside, but he's struggling on the inside, even when he's riding the Ferris wheel. Of course, that's our interpretation, but it also looks like some needed "me-time" by the ocean...and what can beat that? You can find Tyler Allred's newest music video for his recent single, "Anxious Anyway," on YouTube. The song is also available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome back to Buzz, Tyler! We appreciate the introspective and natural feel of your new music video for "Anxious Anway." Was there any particular motivation to shoot the entire video solo at Santa Monica Pier? And why in black and white? Most of the credit goes to my friend Ryan Hilary. The pier was his idea, and we just figured we could get some interesting shots there. It was originally in color, but when watching it back, I thought the black-and-white matched the song better. Throughout the video for "Anxious Anyway," you're seen engaging in typical pier things like eating cotton candy and playing games. What led you to portray these experiences alone, and how do they relate to the song's core theme? We just thought it’d be funny to do fun activities while looking completely apathetic and bored. Not sure if it translated the way we wanted but it was something. Why did you choose not to perform or sing in the music video for "Anxious Anyway?" What motivated that approach? Never really been into videos with lip syncing or performance, at least not for myself. The next video I do I very likely won’t appear at all. Was there any significance to that final smile in the photo booth near the end of the music video for "Anxious Anyway"? Does it represent anything in particular? I think that was just to show that I don't take myself too seriously. In the Photo Booth, I awkwardly smile, but the photos develop with me still looking apathetic, with no smile. We did shoot this video on a whim and with very little planning. How do you think the overall video for "Anxious Anyway" enhances the song itself? How does it tie into the song's core theme of anxiety and overthinking? I’m not entirely sure it does, to be honest. I think, if anything, it just shows that when you’re stuck in your head all day, you might miss out on some things. Instagram
