- Carl Kammeyer Shares The Inspiration Behind “One”
We love the insightful optimism that drips throughout "One." Can you share the inspiration that led to the creation of this song and what emotions or experiences influenced the songwriting process? I was genuinely inspired by my own family when writing this song. I wrote it at home, creating memories and bonding with my family. This song resonates with me because I have experienced a lot as a father and shared those emotions with this song. Your collaboration with Ossico stands out throughout this track. How did this partnership come about, and how did Ossico's contributions enhance the overall tone and message of the song? We connected online. Ossico had already been working on this project, so I came on board to help collaborate with him. We both worked hard to create this song. We really focused on our strengths, and it just worked, and everything just came together. Ossico created this song so that others could easily understand it better; this was essential to enhancing the overall song. How do you approach weaving personal narratives into your music, and what role does storytelling play in your songwriting? I write about topics I care about most and tell a story as best I can through the song's lyrics. Storytelling is everything to a song; it is what the listener will be able to feel and connect to. Your ability to play various instruments is impressive and noted amongst your many talents. Can you share insights into the instrumental choices you made for "One" and how they contribute to the emotive and robust nature of the track? Unfortunately, I did not create any instrumental choices in this track. It was all created by Ossico. His choice of instruments contributed significantly to this track. "One" is a celebration of love's enduring power. How do you envision this single resonating with your audience, and what emotional journey do you hope listeners will embark on when they experience the song? This song resonates with my audience through bonding with their own families and embracing all their struggles with their families. I wanted them to know how special it is to strengthen and bond as a family. This song is a clear reminder of what it means to be on a family journey together, spend time with family, and make memories you will never forget. Read our full review of 'One' here. With a sound described as “The lovechild of the E-Street Band and the Mothers of Invention,” Vincent Brue & the Long Branch Davidians’s music will have you on the edge of your seat. Their releases are something they take pride in. Above all else, the unabashed freedom with which they play indicates a deep love for their craft and music that ultimately rubs off on listeners. Vincent Brue and the Long Branch Davidian’s latest album, “We Didn’t Start the Fire,” is a positive delight for all the rock lovers out there. Coming in at just under a half hour of listening time, cheerful, tongue-in-cheek titles and engaging yet amusing lyricism grab your attention from the get-go. From the beginning of “We Didn’t Start a Fire,” from the opening track “Grasping At Straws” to the closing salvo on “Tonight We Ride,” it’s clear that this talented band has a vision: entertaining you through rock n’ roll that’ll have you smiling and laughing as quickly as it’ll have you grooving. Although Brue and the Long Branch Davidians’ sound is closer to traditional rock, the humor and, at times, the absurdity of “We Didn’t Start the Fire” is reminiscent of alternative rock and roll bands like vintage Fall Out Boy. From the slower, emotional chords and lyrics on “Into The Wilderness” to the helter-skelter chaotic feel on “Big Heart,” Brue and the Long Branch Davidians show their versatility. There’s a little something for everyone; songs like “Old Timer” feel like lighthearted tributes to Otis Redding, while the amusingly named “Young Rectums” may feel tongue-in-cheek but entertains well. Above all else, “We Didn’t Start The Fire” is wildly entertaining. What more could you want? Instagram

The track is a sonic journey, marrying retro influences with a modern twist. Marissa's wide-ranging vocals, gracefully navigating between soft subtlety and bold proclamations, fill the air with infectious energy. The empowering essence of "Sunday" resides in the lyrics but dominates in the very fabric of Marissa's delivery. She's a powerhouse, a force to be reckoned with, and her voice serves as a rallying call to lift other women up. The visuals and soundscape of "Sunday" are a delightful fusion of past and present, where baby pink reigns supreme, adding a touch of glamour to the set. "Sunday" is a celebration of strength, femininity, and the boundless energy Marissa Lynn Hernandez brings to the forefront of the music scene. Get ready to be uplifted and enchanted by the radiant and infectious charisma that defines "Sunday." Congrats on the release of "Sunday." Your music draws inspiration from various decades, including the 50s, 60s, 70s, and 90s. How do you blend these different eras to create a nostalgic and contemporary sound heard in this track? So I grew up on the oldies, Patsy Cline, Motown, Donna Summer, and Elvis playing in our home all the time, and to me, that's always what I defined as real music. I'm an old soul who gravitates towards that kind of sound. I try to instill it into my music today. Like "Flirting with My Feelings," it's a disco throwback vibe with a vocal performance and lyrics that resonate with the 20th century. "Sunday" is a very well-produced 90s Britney Max Martin vibe. Those and everything I put out will reflect that sound. Bruno Mars is An artist who has paved the way for me to do this and has done it well. If you're wondering how to explain it, I am the female version. Please share more about the message you aimed to convey with this song and how it reflects your personal experiences and values. Truly, I wrote "Sunday" for myself. I needed to remember who I am. You can be put into several boxes as a woman in the industry. If you stand up for yourself, you are labeled a "bitch" whereas a man would be simply looked at as a "boss." You will be degraded, your name will be drug in the mud, and you will be underestimated and devalued. However, I speak for all women when I say good try. Because nobody is as resilient as a woman. This song isn't just for women, either. This is a song for anyone who was made to feel less than. I stand by the idea that true beauty starts from the inside out. Should anyone have you questioning your own self-worth, your own beauty, intelligence, value, and intentions? This is your anthem. Let's talk visuals! The music video for "Sunday" showcases a retro-modern aesthetic with stunning outfits and a vibrant visual narrative. How important is visual storytelling to you, and how involved were you in the creative direction of the music video? "Sunday" is my career's first official music video, and I can honestly say precisely what I had envisioned was executed. I love old Hollywood glamour, so I wanted to pin up retro vibes. The idea was just me, against me. Giving myself a pep-talk in the mirror. While being sure to inspire other women to keep living their best lives and "let them think what they wanna think." From the hair to makeup, styling, set, and creative direction- that was all me. I 100% had a vision. I simply just needed my man, JC, to shoot it! Having a visual that resonates with your track is important because it's what your audience will imagine every time they play it. As a Latina artist, you're making significant strides on the Top 40, crossing genres and cultures. How do you see your role in paving the way for other Latina artists in the music industry, and what challenges or opportunities do you foresee? I hate to say it, but we still live in a world where you are categorized by how you look. I won't be having that. Your roots back, background, and culture make you who you are. Yes. But, when you hear MY voice, listen to MY songs. I am just a girl singing a song, making you feel something. Music is the universal language of the world. I deserve to be in the top 40 as much as anyone else. When someone in Brazil hears Adele, do you think their first thought is, is she Hispanic? Absolutely not. They cried with her lyrics; they felt something. Hell, they might not have even known what she was saying. That's the whole point. When you can make music, that is a universal language to me. You have won. Selena Quintanilla worked her entire career in Tejano music, hoping to cross over to the top 40. When she was finally able to, " I Could Fall In Love" and "Dreaming of You" were still sung. Let's pick up where she left off, shall we? I will always continue to be put into a box by many, forced into a genre because of how I look. However, I choose to stay authentic and stand by the music I am making, not just for this generation but for generations to come. "Sunday" marks your first official music video. How was the experience of bringing your song to life visually, and what do you hope viewers take away from the combination of the music and the visuals in this release? The experience was a lot of work. HAHAHA, it's not easy by any means to launch something as an Indie artist, but the feeling of accomplishment is that much more incredible. The viewers can take away a sense of confidence. I'm sure I have my haters like, "Ugh, who does she think she is?" right, but honestly, this song is for the ones who are like, "Yassss bitch, I see you, ME TOO." Keep doing you. That's all I gotta say. Instagram TikTok
- Belle VEX Drops An Anthem Of Self-Empowerment With “Nobody, But Me”
From New Bedford to Los Angeles and BACK to the East Coast, soulful pop singer-songwriter Belle VEX unleashes his creative prowess in an anthemic new single titled "Nobody, But Me." You'll have to look elsewhere if you're looking for a surface-level artist with great tunes and little meaning. Belle VEX is quite the opposite, showcasing his challenges in life and the complex, lavish music industry. After moving to LA to pursue acting, he took his experiences back to the East Coast, processed them, and turned toxicity into positivity through music. His latest single is a prime example. In "Nobody, But Me," Belle VEX channels those frustrations into a heated, 3-minute pop banger with an accompanying lyric video for extra punch. If Belle VEX makes anything clear, he's standing proud in his independence, authenticity, and confidence, being a true artist's artist by encouraging fellow creatives to stay true to themselves in this cookie-cutter industry. Diving deeper into "Nobody, But Me," this kickass electro-pop anthem blasts open with buzzy bass-like synths and Belle VEX's ferocious, sharp vocals chanting his bold lyrics. While expressing how he's sick and tired of feeling controlled, VEX drops the heat and leads us to the fiery hook, smashing our speakers with anthemic pop melodies and powerful lyrics that root him deeper in authenticity. The song's accompanying lyric video brings a more engaging aspect for listeners with clean-cut graphics and Belle VEX's conceptual lyrics that yearn for independence in the music industry. In this 3-minute anthem, Belle VEX clarifies that he's not a puppet, and he won't dance for "Nobody, But Me." If there was ever a song that all independent artists need to hear, it's this one. Belle VEX does an incredible job portraying the ongoing struggles of artists worldwide trying to make it in this cut-throat scene. But those dreams can become a reality with originality, authenticity, and confidence. Find Belle VEX's new single, "Nobody, But Me," on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to Buzz, Belle VEX! We love the meaning behind your honest new single, "Nobody, But Me." What experiences inspired you to create this powerful song about expressing yourself as an artist? Hey! Thanks for having me. I'm glad you like the song, and I'm certainly glad to speak with you. So, this song was inevitable. I could talk about it for days, but I was fed up. I was burned out and tired of being looked down on. It was time to say something to the people around me who were using me for my things. Say it to those who think I'm not good enough because my follower count isn't high. I thought about my career and the opportunities I've passed on. Would I have been farther if I had just bent the knee way back when? Who cares. I don't. I never really had this view of being famous anyway. So, to those who have tried to use that against me, you should've tried harder. Out of sheer curiosity, could you elaborate on some of the negative experiences that led to the creation of "Nobody, But Me"? What have you experienced that you hope other artists can avoid? Sure, yeah. For starters, I've had $6000 stolen from me by a marketing lead whom I trusted. That set me back on everything. I referenced that in the song. Another thing is that this industry, entertainment in general, is all about the ego, so be careful who you keep around. Your so-called friends might compete with you, yet you'll have to learn. I don't have this one friend anymore, but I'd show him some songs I was working on, and he'd hire a producer to create a copy and then ask me to mix it. That's wild. One more. There was a time when I was shipping demos out to indie labels. I've gotten replies like, "Good song, but we're not pushing that type of music." 6 months later, that label has an artist with an eerily similar song. There's also a song out there I wrote for someone… They didn't even replace the terrible demo vocal. They just used the track I sent them and released it as a song featuring BV. Music-wise, there's so much more to the point where I'm always in fight-or-flight mode. Did you work alongside any producers when creating the lively electro-pop production for "Nobody, But Me"? Why did you want to give this song an energetic, fiery edge? Nope, because everyone wants to change my sound. They always want me to take the edge off or sing it like Fall Out Boy. I had someone tell me to sound less like Michael Jackson. I just facepalmed. 3 engineers mixed this song separately, and I did not use those. The mix I chose had a vibe that the others needed to include. That's about as close as I get to working with others. Creatively, I went back to when I started. I've been missing the songs I wrote in my first project for a while anyway, so this was the perfect time to dig into that part of me. The next song follows suit. What did you want listeners to take away from "Nobody, But Me," even if they're not artists? Just have an excellent song to listen to. If it vibes and they can relate, that's great. Besides the main point driven home, it's a lesson in boundaries, right? There's stuff I'm not going to do, and I hope the listeners stand their ground if someone tries to walk all over them. Oh, and don't dance for views. Instagram Facebook

What was the creative process like for this release? Could you take us through it? Certainly! The creative process for this release was profoundly personal and transformative. It all began during a pivotal phase of my life where I felt an urgent need for change in how I perceived myself and how the world perceived me. Reflecting on my difficult childhood and adulthood, filled with trauma, I realized that I needed to confront these experiences through my art. As I delved into the creative process, I found myself navigating a labyrinth of rebranding, both musically and personally. This journey led me through the whirlwind of a mental health crisis, prompting me to explore medications and their impact on my well-being courageously. It was a journey marked by ups and downs, trials, turbulence, profound self-discovery, and resilience. The track "BENZOS" culminates this journey—a sonic narrative that captures the highs and lows of substance-induced euphoria, mirroring the emotional rollercoaster of my own experiences. From facing mental health challenges to confronting the complexities of medication, I've bared my soul through my music. Each lyric, each melody, and each haunting undertone reflects my journey—of walking on clouds only to crash back to reality. Through this release, I invite listeners to join me on this odyssey, to experience the raw emotion and vulnerability that lie at the heart of "BENZOS," and to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation alongside me. As someone so transparent with her music, how important are your personal experiences regarding your releases? Personal experiences are the foundation of my music—it's where my authenticity lies. My journey, marked by trials and resilience, shapes every release. I've always believed that my experiences, raw and unfiltered, make me the artist I am today. Each release is meticulously crafted, reflecting my current struggles and triumphs. Pen and paper have been my companions, allowing me to pour my soul into my lyrics. My music isn't just about self-expression; it's about connecting with others. I hope that amidst the pain and resilience in my words, someone, even one person, finds solace and motivation to heal and grow. Imperfect as I am, I strive daily for self-improvement, refusing to let past trauma define me. In an industry where many gamble with nothing to lose, I stand as a mother of four, navigating the complexities of life. I understand the weight of my responsibilities, knowing that my children need to see me living my passion authentically. They need to witness me embodying the belief that they can be whoever they aspire to be. It's not just about my journey; it's about inspiring theirs. What does music mean to you? Music is everything—it's the essence of my existence. It's not an exaggeration to say that music has saved my life. Its highs are uplifting, while the lows can be utterly deteriorating. There were moments when I despised music so intensely that I wanted to sever ties with it. Yet, like a relentless lover, music held onto me, weaving itself into the very fabric of my being. My connection to music runs deep in my bloodline, tracing back to my grandfather from the funkadelic and other family members who were musicians. Despite this legacy, my family dynamic with music was sparse, with only my parents sharing a general love for it. However, from a young age—around six—I found solace in writing music and sharing my voice with the world. Music has always been my refuge—a place where I am unconditionally accepted, regardless of my background or personality. It's where I forge relationships with melodies, instruments, lyrics, and emotions. Music isn't just a part of my life; it's the foundation upon which I build my existence. It's a getaway, a gateway, and a sanctuary—a constant companion through life's tumultuous journey. If your audience could take one thing away from your music, what would you want it to be? I emphasize the message of confidence, resilience, acceptance, and to keep pushing through. What's next for Benzo Berea? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you'd like to say to your fans? As I look forward to the next chapter in my musical journey, I'm excited to share that I'm closely collaborating with XCLSV Records and an incredible team of artists who have been by my side through thick and thin. Reflecting on my recent releases, I see them as part of my testimony—a testament to my growth, resilience, and inner transformation. After writing "Benzos," I encountered a profound sense of faith and positivity, illuminating the path ahead like never before. I'm eager to unveil to you—my audience, fans, friends, and family—the incredible journey beyond obstacles and hurdles. It's a journey marked by triumph, victory, and the unwavering strength gained along the way. While my past music has been characterized by its fun, bouncy vibes, it's time for me to delve deeper and showcase the profound impact of faith and self-discovery. I want to share the transformative power of God's grace, my resilience, and the incredible struggles I've faced and conquered. I want to express my deepest gratitude to my fans for your unwavering support. You've been with me through every high and low, and I can't wait to embark on this new chapter with you by my side. Let's celebrate the journey, victories, and boundless possibilities together. Thank you for believing in me. Instagram Facebook
- Fancy J London Invites Us To Take A Closer Look At Latest Album, 'Closer'
We loved "Closer." What does it feel like to return from your hiatus and have "Closer" released in all its brilliance? Thank you. I am grateful to be back. My "Closer" album release commemorated my 10th year in music since my first release on SoundCloud in 2014. After experiencing two strokes, I honestly thought I wouldn't be able to sing again. It was difficult for me to hit high notes and hard not to tear up occasionally from the strain. Still, I made it through and am proud of the outcome, considering everything it took to return to where I was before. What was your favorite part of the creative process that brought "Closer" to life? My creative process is something; I might be in the shower when a verse comes to my head, and I jump out soaking wet and grab my phone to record it. Sometimes, I am at the grocery store, in my car, or in bed at 4 am, and lyrics come to me like wildfire, and I scramble to add them to my notes. Other times, I feel blank and find it hard to think of anything remotely close to a lyric. I have to say I think my favorite part is seeing it all come together in the end and thinking, "Wow, I did that!" What's your favorite song from "Closer," and why? One of my favorite songs is Happily Never After Fine; it's just a tremendous anti-fairytale song about the genuine cheating that sadly happens all too often in relationships. It is a song that asks a question that most people don't want to know but want to know if you know what I mean. As someone who's already had success in the industry, what goals do you still want to achieve through your music? My music has helped me endure horrible, tragic, sad, depressing, life-altering times. I can't say I see it as an achievement but rather a sweet release. What's next for Fancy J London? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you'd like to say to your fans? I have quite a few projects in the works for early 2024 through late 2026, such as a most excellent hits album, two more new albums, a few more singles, a couple of live events, God willing, of course, and other surprises. To all my loyal Londoner Fans, I have heard your requests and the "Blu3" album will be re-released on Bandcamp soon. I thank everyone sincerely for your support; I appreciate you all. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream The Autumn King’s latest release, “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead,” on all majour streaming platforms. We loved "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead," we had to ask! What was the inspiration behind this release? Thanks for having us here! The inspiration behind this release was to showcase the innate desire we all share to win and accomplish things. Transcending our self-imposed boundaries and doing whatever it takes to get where we want. We wanted to inject confidence and positivity into our fans because this is the state of mind that Joe, Troy, and I maintain as often as possible. We all have been through times when we pull all-nighters to work, study, exercise, practice something new, compete, etc... This song is for those people. The hustlers, the grinders, the go-getters. What was your favorite part of the creative process of bringing "I'll Sleep When I'm Dead" to life? My favorite part of the creative process was how free-flowing the creation of the music and lyrics was. Marty, our producer, and long-time collaborator, brought in the chorus idea - that's all he had - and as soon as the chorus finished, I just spontaneously started humming "dead in the water ..." He gave the classic "stank face" that musicians give when they like what they hear, and that was my cue just to go ballistic lyrically and performance-wise. We finished writing that song in a day or two. Songs are like babies - sometimes they are a pain in the behind to get out of you, and sometimes it is smooth as butter; this one came out silky smooth. What does music mean to you? Music is more accurate than life itself. It is an expression of emotion so profound that words seem pale by comparison. To me, music is a therapeutic experience - sometimes, all we need to know is that someone out there is experiencing the same emotions as we are to feel okay., even healed. Whenever I got rejected by friends, girls, or teachers at school, I didn't care because I knew I could turn on Pantera, Metallica, Nickelback, and Blink 182 as soon as I got home and express my frustration by playing the drums or blasting music as loud as I could. Explain how audio could serve as such a powerful and valuable escape. It doesn't make sense if you sit there and think about it. Music is among life's highest pleasures, a gift from God and the universe. What would you want it to be if your listeners could take one thing away from your music? Confidence and empowerment ALWAYS trump learned helplessness, despair, and victims. One of the most significant issues I have with modern-day music is that all too often, Artists choose to focus intensely on negative things, like how sad they are, how depressed they feel, how anxious they are -- to a level that it feels like they are trying to pander to an audience because they know it is often easier to connect by focusing on bad stuff than good. Autumn Kings is the absolute antithesis to this way of thinking. We are about confidence, opportunity, excitement, intensity, winning, victory, swagger, and an unbreakable spirit. A commitment to your ancestors and bloodline to do better. Unity, brotherhood, community-building through altruism. Exercise, sunlight, good friends and family. We acknowledge and accept our emotions, regardless of whether they are pleasant or unpleasant - and let me be clear, it is perfectly normal to feel sad, stressed, anxious, and depressed at times - but it never has to become our identity. Our music speaks to the choice to move forward and conquer your doubts regardless of your circumstances and how you feel. What's next for The Autumn Kings? Can we expect to hear more new music soon, and is there anything you want to say to your fans? Lots of new music coming soon throughout 2024...And it is our best music by a long shot. We've leveled up our energy, lyrics, melodies, production, and delivery. Get ready, AK Army. It's about to get wild. To our fans - we love you, and we see you.
