  • Don Ivy Plays with Imagery In, “Orion’s Belt”

Don Ivy, all the way from the UK released a groundbreaking single titled “Orion’s Belt." There are so many different components to this song that really stood out to us and we’re going to highlight each one for you! Starting off with the instrumentation. "Orion’s Belt," had a riveting acoustic melody that helped create the tone of the song. The guitar wasn’t too chaotic or extra. Instead, it was simple and canorous. The chords strummed by the guitar helped serve as the foundation for most of what you will hear in the song. Next, let’s talk about Don Ivy's amazing vocal tone. The quality in her voice was soft with a light rich in texture. Don Ivy's voice moves into two different registers that really helped the song pop. It effortlessly moved through her chest and falsetto range, arranged at the perfect transition for the song. Don Ivy's voice is as tropical as her name. It’s fruitful, stylistic, intricate, yet mellifluous, and melodic. The melody of the song created this dream-like atmosphere. We can also give credit to the super-cool production of the song that felt as if she was singing into an airy microphone on top of the beautiful acoustic guitar, completely elevating you into this unique dimension of music. The lyrics vividly painted a picture and created a setting for you to enjoy the song more in-depth. She poetically played with imagery through her fine lyricism, a skill not many artists can do. “Orion’s Belt” was a well-crafted art piece delivered through sound and we are immensely attracted to the style of Don Ivy! Welcome to BuzzMusic Don Ivy. To start this interview off, what initially inspired you to pursue music and why? I think I pretty much came out of the womb singing! I was really convinced that I was going to be a singer when I was older, but for various reasons, I kinda lost my way and I figured that my best option was to go down the conventional route. It didn't make me happy, however. After spending most of my 20s feeling quite sad and unfulfilled, I went on a spiritual journey to Peru in 2018 and after spending a week in the Amazon jungle working with shamans and healers, something seemed to click for me, and ever since then, I have been on a journey of returning home to myself. The music just seems to be pouring out ever since then. Your single “Orion’s Belt” resonated very well with us here at BuzzMusic, What was the vision you had for this record? I wanted this song to feel as lovely and comforting as the people it is dedicated to. As a point of reference, I asked my producer to give the song an ethereal quality and to imagine it visually as perhaps being underneath a sky full of stars, deep in nature somewhere... perhaps dancing around a fire, surrounded by good people and a having a strong feeling of universal love and connection. We noticed a unique production with the vocals & instrumentation in “Orion’s Belt”. How would you describe your arrangements in this single? I wanted the song to sound as dreamy as possible. Actually, not long after writing this song I found an incredible artist on Spotify called Mree, and I was completely mesmerized by her dreamy folk-sounding songs, and that inspired me with the production of this. Luckily I had a producer who was able to capture this completely. I like for my music to sound as vulnerable and open as possible, and  I guess this reflects in the way I sing it. I really do mean every word. The lyrics in “Orion’s Belt” were able to paint images for us! What inspired your lyricism to this song? Any personal experiences you want to share? I was facing some pretty difficult challenges this summer and I remember just picking up my guitar and finding these particular chords and instantly feeling the need to write a song about the people in my life who support me through the bad times. I really wouldn't get through life without my friends (and my mother) and my vision was to create something that felt as lovely and comforting as they are. It was important for me to be able to use the cosmos as a point of metaphorical reference I am completely fascinated by the universe and consciousness and my spiritual experience in the Amazon jungle was also a huge influence on this record. I believe we are all linked and connected, and I think it's amazing that science has proven we have stardust in our bodies! Also in this particular era of feminism and ending the shame surrounding mental health, it just feels like a kind of tribute to that! Thank you for sharing with us Tropico Don! What’s next for you in the upcoming decade? Anything exciting you’re looking forward to? I find thinking too far into the future kind of terrifying, it is difficult for me to say what sort of future I plan on having as I still feel I am discovering who I am. The only two things I am absolutely sure of are that I always want to travel and music to be huge part of my life. Facebook

  • TIMMS Packs A Flavorful Punch With New Release, “Pretty Ugly”

Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa, TIMMS is now an up-and-coming pop artist in LA. She fell in love with writing songs and playing classical piano at the young age of 8, and TIMMS has been branching out musically ever since. In 2016 she made the bold decision to move to the United States independently and pursue a degree in the College of Music at Berklee. TIMMS is currently collaborating with her producer, Not Famous, to release music during her quarantine. She has already released two and has three more scheduled to be released by the end of July 2020. TIMMS new single "Pretty Ugly" combines her high-pitched, light-as-a-whisper vocals with a strong and compelling electronic melody. In her lyrics, TIMMS talks about being bored with everyone having the same damn story… which pretty much sums her up as an artist. TIMMS is anything but average, and her music is like nothing you have heard before. The song is like biting into a pizza that has every single topping possible – expected and unexpected. The energetic back and forth of electronic sounds and beats in "Pretty Ugly" will cause listeners to become bored with everything "normal," too. She sings about wanting to hear about the parts that people usually keep hidden. TIMMS sends an essential message to listeners; that the ugly parts of you are pretty too. She reminds us that it's not the idea of "fitting in" to be the same as others that make us attractive, it's the things that set us apart and give us our own depth. • DAM3's Mind Reflects On Cognizant Thoughts In "Nobody"

Born in Houston, DAM3 is the founder of MONARCH3 Records, a collective of this generation’s up-and-coming artists of Prison City’s Huntsville, Texas. Born in Houston around the struggles in his earlier childhood, DAM3 deals with the loss and betrayal of his friends and family. DAM3 reflects on the feeling of the consequences throughout his life with the music he releases. Taking inspiration from and connecting with artists such as Kendrick Lamar, Lil Skies, and J. Cole, they have all inspired the sound and message that DAM3 has long tried to convey to his peers. Delving into his latest single, “Nobody,” the melodic virtuoso of DAM3’s eclectic resonance sits with us in our minds in a fully absorbing manner. The vibrancy that is showcased through the instrumentation has us navigating around a buoyant realm of mid-tempo grooves destined to sweep any listener off of their feet. DAM3 has a certain ease that he portrays through his lyrical finesse as he rides the beat with buttery cadences. Holding true to his laid-back, yet cognizant persona, the characteristics of DAM3 come flooding through your speakers in a way that makes you feel as if you’ve known him your whole life. What we love the most about “Nobody” has to be the way that DAM3 pairs lyrical motifs such as, ‘No one ever stays. Everyone goes. But I don’t wanna go today,’ with a beat that would have you feeling that the lyrical content may opt for the route of pure optimism. He places great emphasis on creating an innovative lane for himself as an artist, while he makes music for those who may feel hopeless, but still long for that vivacity to speak into their lives. Be prepared to delve into all of the emotions and thoughts that flow organically through harmonious cadences gleaming from your sound system. Congratulations on the release of “Nobody.” We truly admire the sonic expedition of this track and would love to know; where did the inspiration strike for the narrative you illuminate? A lot of how this song was created stemmed from my own pain and reflecting on the passings of my family and friends. We all know these past 2 years have been hell for us, and it was no less than a tragedy for me. I produced the beat 2 years ago never expected to finish the final version the way I did. I needed to try something different and tell a story of what I really went through alternating the perspectives of what death and women put me through growing up. I wanted something my peers can listen to and not feel like they’re alone in any sense. I just want people to feel secure in their own head when they hear my experiences in ‘Nobody,' Are there any subjects that you find easier or more difficult to write about? Where did “Nobody” fall on the spectrum for you? "Nobody" was easier to write to based on the fact that the trauma was something I could let out on a track. I'm at my most vulnerable on this song and everyone can see that but letting it all go is therapy for me. All in all, the song was written in a day or 2 so not too challenging. Could you please share a bit about MONARCH3 Records with us? How did this collective come to be? MONARCH3 was an idea of mine to get the most like-minded creatives and execute ideas we saw fit to us. When I started the collective up, I ended up creating with my brothers. From releases like "Concrete Butterflies" to my most recent single with Young God Blow, "11TH STREET" We have a lot of projects in store for our fans and we can't wait to drop it on their heads when we do. Looking back into your mindset when creating “Nobody,” do you find that you’re still in a similar headspace now that the song is released? Musically, I've gotten better for sure as I was sitting on that song for a while but the trauma will always be there. I'm always paranoid and don't like to go out much anymore but I know that was all a result of knowing my loved ones are gone now. It's to the point of not taking many things seriously in my life as far as relationships go. I just want to know that they're safe when they just want to know why I'm not texting back fast enough. There are different perspectives on how we see the world and small things don't matter to me as much as death does. Is that a bad way of thinking? Maybe but I can't change that now, you know? • Hayley Lynn Sweetens Our Days With A New Song and Video, "Do For You"

The acclaimed independent/alternative artist and singer-songwriter Hayley Lynn releases a warm embrace with her recent single and music video, "Do For You." Known as a musical attention grabber, Hayley Lynn made her wordsmith essence known through her debut full-length album, 'Bring on the Flames,' which garnered vast attention through radio networks and television sync placements. Continuously releasing ear candy for anyone to take a bite of, Hayley Lynn is currently gearing up to release her future projects, as she has lots in store for us. Putting a spell on us with her comforting single and music video, "Do For You," Hayley Lynn had the opportunity to team up with her sister, who co-choreographed the music video. Hayley Lynn had this to say regarding the single itself:"'Do For You' was written as a comforting love song dedicated to the lows of my struggle with depression." Hitting play on the single "Do For You," the song gracefully opens with tender electric guitar picking and soothing background synths. As Hayley Lynn begins vocalizing her attempts to dry her eyes and move past inevitable struggles, she later delves into those gut-wrenching emotions and questions whether she can flee these negative thoughts. Peaking at the music video for "Do For You," we're met with scenes of two dancers fluidly moving their bodies to the contemporary stylings of Hayley Lynn. With solo shots of Lynn pondering her thought-provoking lyricism, she later joins the two dancers as they close the video with grace and serenity. Find Hayley Lynn's soothing single, "Do For You," on all digital streaming platforms, and watch the song's delicate music video on YouTube. Welcome back to BuzzMusic, Hayley Lynn. We're head over heels for the heart and emotion you've placed into your new single, "Do For You." What inspired you to write a single based upon the lows of depression and the struggles it comes with? During the pandemic, I think everyone has struggled with depression. Even folks who haven't previously experienced it before. Depression has always been something I've had and dealt with since I was young and it didn't get better once the lockdown started. This song is about loving someone who copes with depression. I wanted to write a song I could sing to myself, for myself. Hoping it finds peace in others the way it has for me. What did you want the listener to feel after listening to your emotional lyricism within "Do For You?" I want the listener to feel that they are not alone, and even when you may feel like you don't know how to lift yourself up, it's possible. The people who love you are there for you, even if they might not know how to help the best way, they love you unconditionally. What was it like working alongside your sister and the two featured dancers when creating the music video for "Do For You?" What was the shooting process like? My sister, Reanna Trank, was one of the dancers and choreographers in the music video, and working with both her and our friend Sarah Foster was a dream. We would meet up at their studio and practice until it felt right and then we were ready to film. When we were growing up, my sister and I were very artistic. She was the dancer and I was the songwriter. When I got the chance to see her perform I always wanted to make something she could dance to and this project made that experience happen. So I couldn't' be happier. How does the music video for "Do For You" complement and emphasize the song's theme? When I watch people dance or even when I've danced with someone, it's always based on trust. Trusting your partner and trusting that they have your back. Working together. And when you open up to someone about your journey with mental health you put a lot of trust in that person because you're being vulnerable. Love is a lot like dancing. So when I was writing the song, I had this vision in my head that the story only needed to be conveyed in the movement and lyrics. Anyone listening or watching it could piece it together however they wished, but visually they could see the trust and love that's in it. What's your favorite release this year, from an independent artist you admire? My favorite so far would be the song 'Porcelain' by Laryssa Birdseye. It's incredibly vulnerable and powerful with the production and lyrics and I can't stop listening to it. Instagram Official Website

  • Ready Or Not Hayley Lynn Is Here With “Danny DeVito”

Hayley Lynn studied music and performance at the University of Victoria, inspiring her to write stories that went above and beyond her personal experiences. Drawing from various narratives, these exemplary experiences shaped her writing style, and today she has written over 200 songs. With global exposure across ABC, the 700 Club, Big Ten Network, as well as international television shows, Hayley Lynn's full-length album 'Bring On the Flames' has gained notoriety and the growth of her rapidly emergent fan base. Embodying a boisterous essence in her smooth fusion of Pop/Americana music Hayley Lynn kicks off her next project with a statement release entitled "Danny DeVito." Coalescing a bashful atmosphere with witty lyrics, it's safe to say that the best of Hayley Lynn is showcased throughout the playfulness of this iconic record. Organically gripping and raw, Hayley Lynn's sultry timbres extend through the various depths of her vocal range as she is soft-spoken but packs a punch when her lyrical motifs drop. The minimalistic approach to the instrumentation advances in complexity as "Danny DeVito" progresses in a manner that leaves you more intrigued as the song goes on. Warm acoustic guitar strums, a funk riddled bass line, rhythmic percussion, and the vibrato of the whimsical pan flute have us immersing ourselves in this arrangement that accompanies the prevailing vocals Hayley Lynn offers up in such a mesmerizing quintessence. Her magnetism draws you towards her in a graceful way that has us hooked on the alluring chorus "So lets Danny DeVito, are you ready or not?" Hayley Lynn makes it seem like her talent is effortless; when in reality, the extensive amount of work that she places into her craft is well-noticed. If "Danny DeVito" is a reproduction of her collection of singles to be released this year, we'll ask you, are you ready or not? Congratulations on the release of “Danny DeVito.” We have most definitely been singing it repeatedly after we indulged ourselves in the track! What inspired you to title this song “Danny DeVito?" What does the line "So let's Danny DeVito," refer to? When I was writing ‘Danny DeVito’ I was REALLY going through it. One of the ways I made myself feel better was marathoning all the movies, tv shows, and cameos Danny DeVito was in, I know, I know… but come on! Watching him act made me happy. I wanted to write a song that was a bit eccentric and a bit perplexing. "Is the song about Danny DeVito? What is it supposed to be about?" I wanted to leave my listeners with those kinds of questions. If you've seen It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia then you know that Frank Reynolds is capable of anything. So when I wrote the line "So let's Danny DeVito" I wanted anyone listening to imagine "what would Danny DeVito do?" He was an actor I really looked up to growing up. The dream is for Danny DeVito to hear it himself. If that happens I’d die a happy gal. With such a playful approach to the wit in the lyrics, is this a reflection of what your singles from your most recent project will entail? The influences we had for this song will definitely be in the next project, however, I think I'm expanding more into different styles for this record rather than the style of this song. The next two releases I have lined up are still in the indie-pop vein but more emotional and lyrically moving. However, we intend to make it a record you can definitely dance to. Could you please take us into the creative process of bringing “Danny DeVito” to life? Did you find the creative process similar or different from the process you usually endure? Originally, I wrote the song on my iPhone 6s in 2019 as a demo. It was a long process, however, of finding the right producer. With this song in particular things just seemed to fall through until I started working with James Julian Villa, the producer of the track. We wanted to make the track playful and fun like the lyrics. We used acoustic elements from the first demo and added synthesizers and funky drums. Working with him was the best choice for the song and it turned out better than I could have imagined. What are you hoping your listeners feel and retain from this single? I hope it makes them smile, dance, and cheer them up. Since the start of the pandemic I know I haven't danced as much. So that's what I want to give my listeners, something to dance to, even if it'll be a while till we can all safely dance together. Instagram Facebook

  • Amaka Queenette Captures Vulnerable Emotions With Her Two Part Single “Fleeting, Inconsequential”

Hailing from Pickering, Ontario, Nigerian-born artist Amaka Queenette releases her two-part single "Fleeting, Inconsequential" consisting of both parts "Suffocate" and "Ceilings." Amaka Queenette's music is said to remind you that melancholy, and contentment come from the same place, incorporating nostalgic elements that let us resonate with the old and the new. Named one of NOW Magazine's "Ones to Watch" this year, she captures our attention once again with "Fleeting, Inconsequential". Both parts "Suffocate" and "Ceilings" bring a soulful and heartfelt R&B vibe, but together they create a force that can steer our emotions. Moving gracefully from one part to the next, altogether, it serves as one ethereal and cohesive song. As "Fleeting, Inconsequential" begins with the first part "Suffocate", Amaka Queenette's vocals start with heavenly stylings and serene melisma. As the production takes a celestial and transcending turn, it then breaks down into a soft and sensual beat with added bass guitar and layered drum patterns. She is singing relatable lyrics of still wanting someone, even though she really doesn't want to. Uniquely moving into the second part of "Fleeting, Inconsequential" being "Ceilings," Amaka Queenette sings such clear and pure-hearted lyrics about grieving and moving forward. Taking an incredibly peaceful turn, the production swells to reverbed snares and filtered electric/acoustic guitar strings. Singing that she feels infinite, her message of finding peace within madness stands profoundly clear. "Fleeting, Inconsequential" is all in all a beautiful project to experience, and we definitely haven't seen the last of Amaka Queenette. • Biispo Is Back With An Ambient New Single “Go Back” Ft. Tess

Dance/Pop/Electronic music producer Biispo from California brings unique and diverse tracks to today’s music industry. Producing since 16 years old, Biispo is currently cultivating his own individual style. Biispo presents a gorgeously ambient and calming new single and soundscape with his brand new release “Go Back” Ft. Tess. Utilizing every second that makes up the three-minute journey, Biispo offers a blissful listening experience that appeals from the offset and slowly but surely enhances the warm aura. “Go Back” Ft. Tess leads with a colorful, spacious yet entrancing ambiance, built up of various flickers of synths and a delicately optimistic series of notes. As things progress, there’s a subtle sense of rising energy. The lyrics, the very concept and title of the song, and the consistent movement musically throughout, all help the calmness evolve into an incredibly uplifting mood. Tess’ leading voice sounds beautiful in this context, perfectly in keeping with the vibe of the track but also offering just enough personality and passion to let the words connect and to make the sound recognizable. We’re loving the consistent hits that Biispo brings to the table. Hey Biispo! Congrats on the new single. What can you tell us about “Go Back” Ft. Tess? What inspired you to create the song, and what do you hope that people take away from it? This song was inspired by my best friend. In this song, I've given a bit of mystery through my lyrics here and there that lead the listener to know, overall, that the subject of the song wants to go back to a previous time period. That previous time period was a time when my friend was not struggling with many of his personal life trials that he's accumulated over time as he's gotten a little older. This song is also through my perspective as well in some lyrics. I ping-pong back and forth between the main subject of the song as well as myself. This song is very personal to me. The key point that I hope that the listener can take away from this song is that even though the main point of the song is to "Go Back" to a previous time when things might seem better, try and appreciate what and who you have in the present because you never know what circumstances can alter that. What do you think makes a truly memorable or striking song? What are the qualities that let it reach out in a profound way? To me, a truly memorable or striking song that can reach out in a profound way has a great storyline, lyrics that really make you think, and a sound that is great yet has its own uniqueness to it. How did the collaboration with Tess come about? Tess is actually a really close friend of mine. I was crafting this song with someone else in mind to sing it and I had her sing the demo so that I can send it to the other person, but after she sang it I really liked her voice for it so we went forward with the production. Have you worked together in the past? We have worked together in the past. When I was in need of vocal samples for my previous single "Hollow", she was able to help me out with the vocal samples. What are your thoughts on contemporary music? What are your hopes for your genre and style going forward? I think contemporary music is ever-evolving, which is great! I think it is an exciting climate right now because one element of present contemporary music, that I am a fan of, is the blending of different genres. My hope for my genre and style going forward is to be ever-evolving as well, but to still have a unique characteristic that is set apart from the rest. What other projects are you working on through the end of 2019? I am working on quite a few projects at the moment. I am currently in the process of producing another artist's EP, I am on the cusp of finishing and releasing another single near the end of September/early October, and I am a little more than halfway done with finishing my EP. I am excited to see these projects progress. instagram.com/onlybiispo twitter.com/onlybiispo facebook.com/onlybiispo

  • Ivytheterrible Drops Single “Late Nights” (Prod. Tsurreal)

Ivytheterrible is a young artist paving his path to success at only 17 years old. This dope artist hails from Killeen, Texas, but he has yet to make plans to stay local. Diverse genres, including pop punk, hip-hop, rap, r&b, and screamo, inspire the music that he creates. His journey as an artist started in 2016 when he found love in producing music. He quickly became proficient at his craft and began singing and rapping shortly after. Ivytheterrible recently released his single called “Late Nights” (Prod. Tsurreal), and it’s unlike anything you’ve ever heard before… It’s unique and packed with real emotions you can feel when you listen to the song. Ivytheterribleknows how to awe his audience with grace and powerful lyrics, precisely what he does in “Late Nights.” "I’m glad that I finally came to this conclusion, money is the root of all evil.” Shoutout to Ivytheterrible for speaking facts! This track is a major vibe that almost anyone can enjoy. The final product of “Late Nights” is contemporary, and everything falls together naturally, making this a true banger. Check out Ivytheterrible today, and stay posted for his future releases! Hey Ivytheterrible! Can you tell us a little more about your upbringing and background? Late Nights theme was  centered around   me having insomnia over a girl I couldn’t get over for 2 years now since march 2017. It was about a girl how was been playing games and playing with My emotions since he was 13 back in summer 2015. Things didn’t really work out and they didn’t get together so he made a song called you n I on his mixtape laugh now cry later that was soon deleted and it amazing with streams on Spotify it’s now sitting at 5.6k streams on Spotify and 10.2k on SoundCloud. Late Nights was a fall up a  follow up a year later on how he’s still fucked up and lost without her. Did you have a specific vision when creating “Late Nights”? Did it turn out how you’ve hoped? For the vision of lates I wanted people to feel like they in my shoes and sees before they judge things. I was super scarred not just because of her before I started talking to her again there was a girl named Dani that was my friend that I started catching feelings for who committed suicide. So it still had a effect on me and people wondered why the hell I was still crying over someone for a full year but not telling them about Dani. But more the vision it was telling people why I am who I am without getting to violent like I’m know for. For example people bullying me calling me a faggot nerd standing up and fighting back but getting to impulsive do to my adhd etc. What is your favorite part about “Late Nights” and why? My personal favorite part about Late Nights is the sing and the screaming aid-libs. I use to struggle heavy with singing till I took lesson by watching YouTube on how to sing properly. And with the screaming I learn from my friend lilSORA how to use my stomach area to make those growling or screaming noise that I’m heavily influenced from the pop punk scene. It took me a month to make Late Nights. And it turned out way better than I expected because usually I rush out songs for mixtapes and they end up mediocre. At first it was apose to feature my friend from malaysia named “lil Nuzzi.” But I end up finishing the song because he didn’t know what to do with it and make it so. If you could collaborate with any artist, who would you choose? For a artist I would love to collab has to be Tyler The Creator. I just love and admire that man without him I wouldn’t have seen that if some that has same mental issues and carry there self and act the way I do and just all out creative like me can make it into the industry then I wouldn’t had been a rapper well artist. I’m just like him in multiple ways. But besides Tyler I would collab with anyone if xxxtentacion was still alive I would’ve collab with him to and Jaden Smith etc. What can we expect from you next? For what’s next for me is making a reuploaded  mixtape called Remorse River that was originally drop December of last year. But was removed because I thought it was mediocre at its finest lol.
