- Indigo Blue Tells A Story Of Pain And Perseverance In His New Single, "Push, Play & Repeat"
There are few things more important than representation. To see ourselves and our lifestyles recognized in some of our favorite characters and most played songs gives us a sense of belonging. Far too often, the harrowing story of young single mothers is overlooked in favor of ones that are more glamorous. Indigo Blue, otherwise known as Allen K, tells their story in his new single "Push, Play & Repeat." The pain of his words seeps through his deep and powerful voice, conveying the tiresome struggles of single mothers and also their strength. In the same way, a mother would not let the trials of life stop her from standing strong for her child, Indigo Blue channels that strength and pride into an incredible chorus that transforms the song and creates depth. The song is driven by synth-generated piano, a straightforward drum pattern and ambient sounds; these elements come together in various frequencies to create dynamicity. The vocals are placed to take center stage in the production, emphasizing the meaningful lyrics. The ability to make these creative decisions comes from Indigo Blue’s many years of experience in the industry. He uses music to tell stories of his experiences and experiments with various genres, like pop, drum and bass, future bass, pop rock and more. We hope he keeps telling the stories and making the music that we all need to hear. Read our full interview with Indigo Blue here. Instagram Facebook

Hey Kaci! How has growing up performing on the stage benefitted your stage presence today? Growing up on theatre stages and tv screens with older people definitely enhanced my stage presence from a young age, so when I made the switch to the music scene, I had a lot of the core skills needed to own the stage. I mean, there was a lot of room for improvement as I learnt in the coming months, but yes, the core skills were there. How has the journey been for you so far as an artist? I love it; it's everything I want to be doing. As I see it, the journey is only just beginning, and I am working on improving all aspects of myself as an artist at every opportunity. As I've learnt, this music thing is a hell of a lot harder than it looks. But luckily, my hobby is my grind, so all the hard work and 10-hour studio sessions are minor for me because it's what I want to be doing. But yes, the journey is just beginning. In what ways do you try to elevate yourself from your previous release? My aim for every song I create is to make it 10 times better than the last. This mentality causes me to be extremely picky when it comes to the end product of my tracks. Hopefully, you will also be able to see how my sound is becoming more defined and authentic, and I am excited to get it out there for everyone to hear. The music video for CONTAGIOUS is also a step-change from concept to production, fusing live-action and animation, and I am extremely proud of the finished product. Let’s talk about “Contagious,” what is this song about? CONTAGIOUS is basically about the feeling you get when you feel that attraction to a girl, and her vibe is just infectious. I like to call it 'when a girl is riding her own wave' and they stand out from the rest. Ultimately CONTAGIOUS is set to be the track that really gives people an understanding of my style, my vibe, and my music. What’s next for you, Kaci Brookz? Well, one of my favourite things at the moment is the amount of time that I get to spend making new music with my producers. I strongly believe it's just as important that I got myself across as an artist as well as getting the song across to potential fans (if that makes sense); the song is just a vibe. It's one of those tracks that gets stuck in your head even if you don't want it to. It brings a type of energy and a style that I don't think is very common at the moment in popular music."- Kaci Brookz Hi Kaci, care to introduce yourself to our readers? A big 'wagwan' to all of your readers. How is everyone? My name is Kaci Brookz, and I'm a Bashment/RnB Singer/Songwriter from just outside London. I am really looking forward to giving you some background on myself and my debut single 'You Make Me Wanna' aka 'Y.M.M.W.' What inspired you to begin singing? Do you also song write as well? I have always been confident and willing to take advantage of the opportunities I was given, and my parents thought it would be a good idea for me to get involved in a performing arts workshop, and it kind of... all started from there. The workshop focused on acting, singing and dancing, but from the start, I always favored the acting and singing side of performing. I have performed in several musical theatre productions since that first workshop, such as '13 The Musical', but it was only last summer that I put all of my energy into singing and 'You Make Me Wanna' is the end of the first chapter of that musical journey. I write all of my own lyrics. For me, I need to have a backing track that has a vibe I can ride with before I get to work, but once I find the right track, the lyrics flow pretty freely; I love it; songwriting allows you to get all of your feelings out. It is my escape from all the stresses in life, I suppose. I have some songs, 'Cooking in the Kitchen' that I am really excited for everyone to hear, but for now, the main focus is 'You Make Me Wanna.' What’s your personal preference of music? Any specific genre you listen to the most? My taste in music is extremely varied. It's a range of all types of music from RnB to Reggae to Afrobeat,80's ballads,90's bangers; you name it...I probably have it on my Spotify playlist, lol. The type of music doesn't really matter too much to me. It's more about how the song makes me feel or the messages behind it and, obviously, the quality of the track. Can you tell us a little bit about your recent release and the meaning behind it? 'You Make Me Wanna' is the beginning of my creative journey musically. I strongly believe it's just as important that I got myself across as a person and an artist as well as getting the song across to potential fans (if that makes sense); the song is just a vibe. It's one of those tracks that gets stuck in your head even if you don't want it to. It brings a type of energy and a style that I don't think is very common at the moment in popular music. Being young and talented, are you excited for what your future holds? I am more than excited, but I can't let my excitement guide me off-track. To me, talent means nothing if you haven't got the commitment and drive to better yourself as an artist to back it up. So I'm viewing this whole experience as my autobiographical film. Every scene is new to me, but every scene also betters my knowledge of the storyline. It's all learning. It's all education. Instagram

- Sea Of Tranquility Explains Why It's Important To Always Live In the Moment
Hey there, Sea of Tranquility! Let's get right into talking about "In the Moment." Were there any emotional ties with this track release? Did you stem the inspiration of the song from personal life experiences? Definitely, life moves fast, even if it feels slow at the time. It’s important to make the most of it, not just watch the days go by. Can you share with our readers how you're trying to create a new sound with your production? What's the impression you want to leave on your listeners with the way "In the Moment" was constructed? For me, SOT has always been about writing music that I like, not trying to fit into anyone's demographic or style. Having been influenced by multiple genres, I want the listeners to be able to connect with them, no matter their background or their musical taste. How does the band feel living in North Carolina is aiding in the creative stylings of Sea of Tranquility? Does North Carolina's music scene inspire the band to come up with these authentic and eccentric stylings? Having grown up in the NC scene, music and shows have always been a big part of my life. I feel that many artists here portray incredible energy on stage, which has always inspired me. I would say musically, though, that my inspiration comes from all over. What was the deeper meaning behind "In The Moment"? Does Sea of Tranquillity typically create songs that require a deeper and more involved mentality, or does the band create music to be simply enjoyed in a more transparent way? “In The Moment” is a song about the passage of time, a plea to the listener to take hold of the moment we’re currently living in and not dwell only in the past or focus only on the future. Personally, it’s always easy to say, “I’ll do that tomorrow or another time,” when the truth is, eventually, we will run out of tomorrow. I don’t want to wonder years from now what would’ve happened had I lived in the moment and really taken advantage of the days I’ve been given. My goal is to create music that is fun and easy to listen to at face value but can be interpreted on a deeper level as well. What can we expect to see from Sea of Tranquility throughout 2020? There are currently a lot of new songs in the works, some of which are totally different than anything we’ve released. Lately, the drummer, Brandon, has been challenging me to think even more outside the box, and we are creating an even more unique sound than ever. Listen to "Lost At Sea" here. Can you run us through the inception of this single? Where did it all begin? Sea of Tranquility has always gotten a lot of inspiration from ocean themes. At face value, the song is about a ship lost at sea, but under the surface, the song represents dark times that we all go through and that there is always hope for a way out. “It’s times like these that define me”; the way that we face tough times is what builds our character. What sorts of emotions did you find yourselves channelling into for the performances you captured on "Lost At Sea?" “Lost At Sea” taps into a feeling of isolation and feeling lost. When you think back, do you feel like North-Carolina has a lot to do with developing the Aesthetic and Sounds you render up as a band? North Carolina music has a wide range of genres and ideas. As musicians, we’ve played in many bands of differing genres, but in Sea of Tranquility, we vibe out and write whatever we like, which results in combining different genres together in a new way. What are some of the most crucial milestones you've been aiming for this year? And what steps have you taken already to achieve those goals? This year we’ve been releasing a song every 2 months. We’re working towards a full album, but we also want to release a constant flow of music in the meantime to stay connected with our listeners. What has been keeping you inspired in 2020? In 2020 the best distraction that we have is music. Focusing on writing new songs is what has kept us motivated throughout the year despite all the negativity currently in the world.
