Welcome to BuzzMusic Sea Of Tranquility! What initially motivated you two to form a duo? Chandler: Worth and I were originally friends, and both played in different bands. We talked about music all the time and had a love for the same genre. Worth had started a project and one day just sent it to me. After listening to the project, I loved the sound and our duo just kinda fell into place after that. Tell us about your EP “Into The Deep.” What song from this project was your personal favorite and why? Worth: I really like “Not Afraid”; it’s the most upbeat song on the EP, and I feel like it was key in shaping our sound. Chandler: My personal favorite song from our first project has to be “Not Afraid.” There’s just something about the vibe and message. There’s something about being with someone who loves you, is there for you, and believes in you. It really makes you feel like you can take on the world. Can you describe to us the songwriting approach towards “Young”? Worth: I had actually come up with the original melody back in 2017, It was just sitting in my loop library ever since. When we stumbled on it, it had a nostalgic feel that brought us back to the feeling of being kids; the lyrics just flowed from there. Chandler: I told Worth I wanted to write a song that kinda talked about all the dumb things we did as kids. We both have some crazy stories, and those are a part of us. I originally had the idea after he told me this wild story about high school. After that, we just wrote a song about having fun and remembering our youth. What was the creative process like for “1 AM”? Worth: I was producing a track that was taking on a really cool eighties vibe, and Chandler came to me with these lyrics that just fit the song perfectly (This happens pretty often when we are writing) Chandler: 1 AM” was kind of a song that wrote itself. We finished it months before we released it. Worth had been producing the song that would become “1 AM.” when he showed it to me, and I really liked the sound. That night literally around 3 A.M., I was just writing until I eventually just fell asleep. The next day in the studio, I pulled out the song and we both loved it. Then within an hour, everything else came together. What was the most challenging aspect of creating “1 AM”? Worth: “1 AM” is our first official music video; we were thrown a lot of curveballs while putting it together, so we just had to roll with the punches. *Laughs* Carrying all the equipment and TVs through the woods and into the field was probably the biggest challenge. What are you looking forward to in 2020 Sea Of Tranquility? Chandler: In 2020, we will be releasing a lot of music! We already have a lot of songs finished, and with those songs will be more music videos. Also just growing as a band, having fun, playing more shows, and discovering who we really are as SOT. • Get Lost In The Contagious Melodies Of “Young” By Sea Of Tranquility

Sea of Tranquility is an alternative pop band from Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina. Formed in late 2018 by Worth Fitts and Chandler Martin, their debut EP "Into the Deep" was released in January 2019. In June, they released an upbeat follow-up single, "Young." Featuring everything from driving guitars to heavy synths, Sea of Tranquility offers a refreshing new sound. The upbeat and atmospheric track “Young” boasts everything an Indie Pop song should. A track that’s lighthearted and made for rolling down all the windows and singing your heart out or simply dancing the night away. The catchy riff and contagious melody are guaranteed to be stuck in your head. “Young” is the perfect blend of catchy guitars, precise drums, and show-stopping sounds to blow you away. With a tightly wound rhythm section and waves of echoing guitar and vocals, the band blends different styles of alternative music with a very ambient pop feel to create something new and interesting. Putting out a very atmospheric sound with an interwoven rock element, the four-piece brings a very energetic and captivating set. This track is so enthusiastic and uplifting it makes me feel like I’m in a movie, falling in love. “Young” is a refreshing and awakening single that can get anyone out of their seat. Sea Of Tranquility knows what their fans want to hear and delivers it in the most explosive way. Check out “Young” here and read more below in our exclusive interview! Hey guys! Can you tell us more about how you met and how you created the name Sea Of Tranquility? Chandler: We actually met through a job that I had. I was working at a coffee and craft beer shop that Worth and his wife came into every Monday night. They came in every week for a few months, and we slowly became friends and had a lot of the same interests. We would talk about music and life until one day Worth looked at me and said, “You’re supposed to be the lead singer of my band.” Worth: The name Sea of Tranquility came to me along with the ideas for our debut EP “Into The Deep.” Though it refers to a lunar mare on the moon, I felt it matched the water theme for the EP. It also makes me think of just a calm place, which is where we want our music to take you. In what ways do your different personalities coming together influence your music? Chandler: Our personalities are similar in a lot of ways. We have a lot of the same interests and similar stories. But we also both have different gifts and strengths. When creating music has taken us on a lot of journeys because no song has ended up where we originally thought it would be. Instead, we have used our personal strengths, stories, and gifts to influence our sound and lyrics. Worth: We’re both super optimistic people, so I think that tends to come out in our songs. We’re also very motivated, so we’re constantly challenging each other to make each song better than the last. Anytime we’ve stepped back and listened to each other’s ideas, the song benefits from it. Can you tell us more about the meaning behind “Young”? Chandler: “Young” is a song about memories in high school. It’s simply about thinking back to the young dumb things we did as kids. I hope when people hear the lyrics, they can remember those days, whether they are currently in high school or in their 40s. It’s also about the fact that we all are growing up and time is always moving, but we never forget our youth. Who are your top three musical influences? How have they inspired you? Chandler: The 1975 has had a huge impact on us because of their unique sound. When you hear one of their songs, you know it’s a 1975 song. This has inspired us to create our own sound and to be different/unique. The band Lany really uses amazing synth sounds and has a very modern pop style of music. We also use a lot of synth sounds and have a lot of pop roots. Worth: Wild Nothing is also a huge inspiration. I’m a big fan of the ’80s-sounding synths and the way he incorporates the guitars in as well. It’s also cool to see how his songwriting has progressed so much. We’re always trying to move forward in our songwriting and not stay in the same place. What’s next for Sea Of Tranquility? Chandler: We are currently recording our next EP that really showcases who we are and has a similar sound to our single “Young.” We are also in the process shooting music videos for two of our upcoming songs. We are playing more and more shows and are excited to see where music takes us. Instagram

Cheers to your latest release, "More Than Just Friends," which explores the complex emotions of transitioning from friendship to something deeper. Can you share any personal experiences or inspirations that influenced the narrative of this song? Lol...Being friend-zoned more than a few times made me pen this tune I have been carrying for a few yrs. Something you go through as an adolescent and, confronting your feelings then finding out the person who you have this tension for has the same tensions but hiding their feelings. It was time to finish this joint and get it out there. Your vocals in "More Than Just Friends" echo beautifully across the industrial vibe of the beat. Can you discuss your approach to this unique vocal arrangement and how it enhances the song's narrative? Thank you so much! I usually just let the song dictate how I will sing it. As I start with the chorus and build everything around it, the arrangements start coming to me as I hear it. As the song develops, so do the vocal arrangements. The rhythm is talking to me, telling me what she needs to help bring the song to life. The beat in "More Than Just Friends" has a distinct heavy rhythm. What led you to choose this specific sound for the song, and how do you feel it complements the lyrics? For this song, I was going for something heavy electronic dance meets Hip Hop subgenres Jazzy Hip Hop, Breakbeat. I wanted a funky bass line to compliment the vibe; I was going for a summer club banger that would make a statement and help drive the lyrics home. "More Than Just Friends" delves into the theme of romantic desire. How do you hope listeners will connect with this theme, and what do you want them to take away from the song? I hope the listeners, especially those who have been friend zoned, understand those feelings and can connect with them. Request it from their DJs at parties/clubs. Put it on their playlist, share it with friends, and make it viral. The summer vibe begins now, so let this be the summer theme song! • Zhaklina Says Its “Game Over”

Meet Zhaklina, an independent alternative pop artist from New York with an Albanian, Irish and Greek background. Known for her powerful voice and bold, cutting-edge expression, Zhaklina transcends genres by creating a sound that’s entirely unique to her aesthetic. Driven by her faith, she strongly advocates spreading positivity and encourages listeners to always lead with love. Having donated to multiple mental health organizations such as “To Write Love On Her Arms” and “No Stigmas,” her dedication to her values is as strong as her devotion to music. In her latest release, “Game Over,” Zhaklina collaborates with post-hardcore band Hollow Wake and their good friend to produce a truly unforgettable track. Her alluring vocals are the first to enter “Game Over,” effortlessly intertwining with the soothing piano melody. This peaceful introduction soon shatters when an electric pulsating bassline suddenly emerges, guiding the listener into the heart of Zhaklina’s musical identity. The song instantly becomes powerful, gritty, and raw yet remains soulful and utterly captivating. Her ability to transition from a soft tone of voice to one with a commanding presence demonstrates her dynamic range and versatility as a singer. The sound intensifies with the addition of hypnotic guitars and energetic drums, leading to a powerful crescendo. At this moment, the listener begins to grasp the core concept of this song; the struggle against shame, whether it be emotional, spiritual, sexual or physical. Arriving at the chorus, a monumental and harmonious sound erupts as Zhaklina belts “Game Over.” These two impactful words convey hope, symbolizing that when one recognizes their god-given free will and power, their inhibitions will disappear. She shares with the audience that by refusing to give shame power, it loses its hold on you. As the track nears its conclusion, the music circles back to emulate the same energy in the initial introduction. Zhaklina’s vocals gradually transition into a tranquil tone, leaving the echoes of her grand performance behind to resonate through the listener’s ears. “Game Over” is available now on all platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic Zhaklina, and congratulations on your latest release, "Game Over." Your musical talents truly shine on “Game Over.” Was your path to pursuing music always clear? My passion for music has always been clear- I’ve singing since I was a baby! I’ve always wanted to pursue a career in music but didn’t start believing in myself until 2015 after I won a radio competition and recorded my first professional single. I think what can stop people from pursuing a career in music is believing it’s supposed to look a specific way- I know that’s what made me hesitant for a long time. But I’ve learned that you can make it a career when you step outside of the box and own your path. Which influences would you say played a role in shaping the style of music you create? Celine Dion, Amy Lee from Evanescence, Christina Aguilera, Avril Lavigne and Kelly Clarkson were my inspirations growing up. More recently, I’ve been inspired by PVRIS, Florence & The Machine, Bishop Briggs, Lauren Daigle, and many more. I was also heavily influenced by musical theatre, playing roles in many shows throughout the school and expanding my music experiences through cappella groups in high school and college. As an artist-driven by their faith, it's inspiring to witness your use of “Game Over” to spread such a powerful message to your listeners. What does your faith mean to you? Thank you! It means a lot to have my messages received. I would consider myself agnostic until I was 23, believing there was some God or higher power out there but not focused on it. At 23, I began connecting many dots from all the ways God pursued me and had an “Aha” moment at church when a singer was giving the sermon. My faith has been spiritually led, and I’ve grown to dig deeper through its theological and historic aspects as I mature in my relationship with Jesus. My faith has made me grow in ways I never imagined, and I’ve been blessed to find purpose, healing, strength and joy through it. It is the root of all I do and will always be my number one influence and fuel to spread compassion in this life. The incredible outcome of your collaboration with Hollow Wake on “Game Over” speaks volumes. What other artists or groups do you aspire to work with in the future? Thank you! I am collaborating with multiple local artists in Nashville, which is a blessing. I have dreams of writing with big-name artists like Sasha Sloan, Amy Lee, 30 Seconds To Mars, NF, Daughter, and SO many more. We’ll have to see where the journey leads. What’s next for you? Do you have any new projects in the works? I am wrapping up my 17 Reasons Why series, which is wild even to say! I’m very focused on the “Game Over” project (which has more creative ventures to come (you heard it here first!)), my Mental Health Songwriter Nights and finishing up my 17 RW project. As a music teacher at Scuola di Musica il Trillo in Florence, Effy continues to share her passion for music with others. "Monsters" is a powerful and emotional song that delves into the darkness of deceit and manipulation in relationships. The lyrics highlight that the most dangerous monsters don't lurk under our beds but instead masquerade as friends or loved ones. Effy's raw and honest portrayal of this experience showcases her ability to capture complex emotions through songwriting. The chorus, which features the lines "Have a drink to kill the pain / Take a pill to numb the blame," reflects the struggle to cope with emotional pain and betrayal. Effy's expressive vocals and poignant lyrics create a haunting atmosphere that resonates deeply with listeners who have experienced similar situations. One of the standout lines in "Monsters" is "Can't you see somehow I'm bleeding ink / Can't you see your words can't shatter me," which suggests a sense of resilience and determination in the face of adversity. Through her art, Effy demonstrates her ability to transform her pain into strength, turning her experiences into a powerful and relatable song. Effy's debut single, "Monsters," is a gripping and emotionally charged introduction to this promising artist. Keep an eye (and ear) out for more from this talented musician. Get this one today, available on all platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic Effy! Big cheers to your latest release with "Monsters," a song that explores the darker side of relationships. Can you share your inspiration for writing this song and how you channelled your emotions into its creation? Thank you very much! The inspiration came from a toxic non-romantic relationship I lived through. I feel like somehow the song wrote itself, I channelled my emotions, and it came through naturally. I told my version of the story through the song. The lyrics in "Monsters" include "Have a drink to kill the pain / Take a pill to numb the blame." Can you talk about the significance of these lines and what message you hope to convey to listeners about coping with emotional pain? The song traits topics such as alcoholism, addictions and gambling problems. Having a drink and taking a pill were the ways of someone I used to know to avoid reality. I think there are other ways to deal with life and its problems. In "Monsters," you sing, "Can't you see somehow I'm bleeding ink / Can't you see your words can't shatter me." How have songwriting and music been an outlet for you in overcoming personal challenges and finding strength? Music has always been an outlet for me. It’s my safe place. Those last lines of the song close the toxic circle. The whole song feels like a journey to me. At the beginning of it, I felt more vulnerable and weak, and through the song, I gain more confidence and strength, and I close the song by being a different person, someone who found the strength to overcome that toxic situation. The dreamlike atmosphere in "Monsters" makes it a powerful debut single. How did your experiences studying at prestigious institutions like Academia Musical Piccolo and Fondazione Siena Jazz shape your approach to songwriting and creating this song? At the Academia Musical Piccolo in Bogotá, Colombia, I learned the basics of music, studied music theory and guitar for about ten years, and then moved back to Italy, to Siena and Florence, to pursue my passion for jazz music. I learned everything I know about harmony and the instrument itself, and the songwriting process came afterwards in a very natural way. With the release of "Monsters" marking an exciting beginning to your career, what do you envision for your future as an artist? Do you want to explore any particular themes or musical styles in your upcoming projects? I definitely would love to play live as much as possible. Monsters is the debut single of my upcoming album Deviant. Through the album's ten songs, I explore other musical styles such as pop, jazz and r&b and themes such as love, grief, mental illness and friendship. Instagram

  • MISY Channels The Sun, Good Vibes And Nature At Large For Her New Release, “Lavender”

Raised in Southern California but currently based in Nashville, songstress MISY has long been exposed to quality music. Soaking these inspirations in, she's begun to establish herself off the back of her graceful yet powerful vocals, striking instrumental prowess and visually striking lyrics. Apart from music, MISY’s passions extend to art, animals, spirituality and humanitarian efforts, something that she’s not afraid to let shine through in her music. Not content to fit into any genre-based box, MISY’s sound is deeper than any one kind of music. Her sound is a tasteful blend of pop, folk, alternative and indie, expertly drawing from each genre to maximize the potential of whichever song she puts her effort into. Drawing inspiration from musical luminaries like Kacey Musgraves, Taylor Swift, Maggie Rogers, Ed Sheeran, and Jason Mraz, MISY has crafted a sound that transcends boundaries and, at times, embraces the unexpected. She sometimes incorporates hip-hop and jazz components, utilizing her versatility to take listeners on unexpected sonic journeys that leave lasting impressions. However, MISY’s latest release, “Lavender,” sees her utilize a more indie acoustic sound, which meshes perfectly with the nature-related themes she utilizes for this song. Over instrumentals anchored by a serene yet powerful guitar, MISY’s vocals glide then soar, dropping lyrics like “The sun is high just like me, a magical land filled with wonder” and “I feel so calm and beautiful, I feel like lavender” with the kind of cadence that leaves you chills. With her powerful voice and evocative songwriting, it’s clear that for MISY, the sky is the limit. MISY’s “Lavender” is a beautiful piece that incorporates themes of nature and self-love to bring you a song that is ultimately catchy and meaningful. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Lavender,” available now on all major streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, MISY! We loved “Lavender,” we had to ask; it’s clear that you incorporate themes of nature into your music. Can you take us through your creative process for “Lavender?" Thank you so much! 'Lavender' is a song I wrote when I was back home in California. It was a beautiful spring day in 2021, and my mom had a ton of Lavender growing outside. I was cutting some for herbalism, and when I was done, I sat down to meditate. Then I started playing guitar as the sun set over the ridge, and I just wanted to capture my peaceful yet powerful mood. The chords came to me immediately, and I wrote the song quickly in my parent's beautiful backyard. The sky was turning purple, and I remember thinking, "I feel like Lavender right now," and it flowed out of me afterward. I ended up adding the bridge later on, and when I started playing it out at my gigs, I got great feedback from listeners. I was also listening to many Kacey Musgraves at the time, and I particularly like her song 'Oh, What A World' because it reminds you what a gift it is to live on this Earth! And I wanted to write a similar song, so you could say that song also sparked the idea for 'Lavender.' So you’re also very involved in your community, volunteering at the Nashville Humane Association and advocating for mental health and general wellbeing regularly on your social media. As an artist, how important is it to have that balance where you want to grind and care for yourself and your mental health? I've prioritized my well-being over anything else in the past few years. And yes, being involved in the community brings a lot of enrichment to my life! I try to give back whenever possible because I believe being selfless brings happiness and fulfillment to our lives. And I'm just constantly trying to be a better person and improve my life, and sometimes I put a lot of pressure on myself to the point where it's debilitating! I've struggled with depression and anxiety a lot in my life, and I've found that taking time every day to have some quiet time or meditate is really important. Slowing down, being grateful, and appreciating the little things in life are key to my mental health. Spending time in nature and caring for plants also brings me a lot of serenity. 'Lavender' is about my self-care and self-love journey, which is always evolving! What does music mean to you? For any aspiring musicians out there, what do you think is the most important quality to have as a musician? Music is the most powerful force in the universe! I truly believe that! It's something that brings people together and can inspire anyone. I don't think there's a soul on this Earth that hasn't been moved by music, which is incredible! Without it, I would be lost, and so would many others. I think the most important quality for anyone wanting to be in the music industry is your attitude. Believing in yourself and trying to stay positive is the most important aspect of this career, in my opinion. And it can be tough, but you have to have faith that it will work out. A contagious positive attitude can bring much hope to other people's lives. How did you first get involved in music in the first place? Can you give us the MISY origin story? I started in musical theatre at a young age through my church! And I went on to attend the California Conservatory of the Arts in Southern California when I was in middle school, which was like an after-school arts school where I was taught acting, improv, singing, and overall general stage training for main musicals and Broadway-type performances. But when I was 13, my parents bought me a guitar for Christmas, and I started getting into writing my own songs, and it took hold of my heart. Writing songs became so important to me quickly; I knew my life would never be the same without it. And my guitar teacher encouraged me to move to Nashville to pursue songwriting. I'll never forget when he told me, "If you want to write songs, you gotta go to Nashville. That's where the songwriters go." So I moved to Nashville in 2017; it was the best thing I ever did for myself! What’s next? Can we expect to hear more new music soon? I have so many big plans for the future! I have more music on the way. I've been considering a concept album for a while now, and that's something that I want to start recording in the near future. I've been writing for an album for about 2 or 3 years. But I have a few more singles I'll be releasing before that. The next single I'm about to record is "Keep Your Head Up," another positive song I can't wait to share with the world! Follow me on Spotify and other streaming platforms to stay updated on my music! And thank you so much, BuzzMusic, for doing this Q&A with me. Instagram Facebook

  • Brendan The Navigator and thepaintingcompany Talk New Split Single

In the ever-changing world of music and entertainment, musicians are constantly challenged to change, remain familiar and innovative, and remain true to established popular sounds. It’s hard to stand out in such a hectic world, but for Brendan the Navigator and thepaintingcompany, that challenge is something they’ve come to embrace and excel at. As prominent members of the band Modern Chemistry, Brendan the Navigator and thepaintingcompany are no strangers to each other or each other’s work. That’s part of what makes their new, joint-release split singles “Animal” and “just a little off” so enticing. The two complement each other astoundingly well, showing a deep understanding of each other’s artistic muse and a wider musical vision. “Animal,” Brendan the Navigator’s half of the split, is an intimately personal track that explores the complex angst of love and desire without having the courage to act on it. As Brendan drops lines like “How long before I get what I want” and “You know that I don’t get my way,” it feels like he’s given us a window through which we can glimpse his soul. On the other hand, thepaintingcompany’s “just a little off” is a buoyant pop anthem that serves as the perfect foil to Brendan’s beautiful melancholy. As opposed to the angst Brendan portrays in “Animal” when thepaintingcompany drops lines like the infectious chorus “You’re all that I want (x2), all of the time (x2) there’s a sense of hopefulness and joy, even though nothing is set in stone. Brendan the Navigator and thepaintingcompany’s new split single is a testament to their remarkable chemistry and the duality of unrequited love. “Animal” and “just a little off” are available now across all streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic! We love “Animal” and “just a little off!!”; both songs stand alone distinctly yet complement each other so well! How did this split come to be? It's such an interesting idea. What prompted you to release each of your solo works together? We've been making music together as Modern Chemistry for quite a long time. Brendan's been recently writing some amazing songs where he's already singing, and it didn't really make sense for me to take over on vocals. I also have tons of music that I'm working on all the time, and it doesn't always necessarily fit the vibe of Modern Chemistry. So, this seemed like a great way for us to expand and share more music with the world. Maybe we're too codependent, but it felt right to start the projects together to show that we're still a team. How did you initially meet and start collaborating in Modern Chemistry? In what ways would you say the band has evolved musically over the years? We actually went to high school together but didn't start making music together till the second half of college. Initially, we were trying to start a cool band that would be fun to watch in basements. Things slowly started picking up, and eventually, we realized that this is the band for us. So we really started thinking about what music we love and how we wanted to present these songs. Going back through all our music, I think the progression feels natural. Now, we know a lot more about making music and have more control over the sounds and how everything is presented. We can see that you have a special connection with your fans. What has it been for you to cultivate this kind of relationship? What do your listeners mean to you personally and professionally? I think we're honest with our fans and like to keep things light and fun online. We've been super lucky to meet many great people opening up for other artists like Frank Iero and Taking Back Sunday. These bands have such loyal fans; we've gotten to know many of them over the years. They're supportive of everything we do and seem to be cool with us experimenting with different sounds and styles. We appreciate them so much. It's really something special to be able to see someone who found us 5 years ago still enjoying what we put out today! We're excited to see what's next for you guys! Can we expect to hear more new music for your solo projects or Modern Chemistry? Are you booking any tour dates? We need to know! You'll be hearing a lot more from us this year. We plan to put out a Modern Chemistry mixtape featuring songs by Brendan the Navigator and thepaintingcompany. We'll also have some new Modern Chemistry songs we'll be releasing with collaborations with other artists we really love. Instagram

Freak out with this one today, available on all platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic LION, cheers for being unapologetic on your latest release with "Not Your Fetish." Being such a powerful and assertive debut single, what inspired you to choose this particular theme and message for your introduction to the world as an artist? Thank you so much for having me! I was honestly unsure about Not Your Fetish when I first wrote it, but as I performed it and gave it time to connect, I realized it perfectly encapsulated my values. Right out the gate, I want to make it clear that I fight for queer people, POC, women, and so many other minorities/marginalized communities. I love political pop, and Not Your Fetish demonstrates that; it’s an empowering anthem and a playful, sassy banger. In creating "Not Your Fetish," how did you find the perfect balance between the heavy-hitting house elements and the seductive tone to convey the song's message effectively? I co-produced this song with Benedict, an amazing artist friend of mine. Art is all about contrast, so we applied that technique to the song. The production is hard-hitting and quite in your face, so having a more chilled-out, seductive vocal layered on top felt natural. It took a lot of trial and error to get the right vocal layers to fill the song out, but we figured out what connected best! It felt nice to have a bolder vocal in the last chorus. I love how the energy picks up there. The music video for "Not Your Fetish" is visually captivating and beautifully complements the song's message. Can you share any memorable moments or challenges you faced during the video's production? Thank you, I appreciate that! Well, I loved the process of creating the choreography; it was really fun to zone in on different elements of the production, and it gave me a detailed perspective on the song and its little nuances. But it was also incredible working with Adam, the dancer who plays the dominant character in the music video. Adam has this fierce, confident energy and is talented in burlesque and whips. It was an honour to create this beautiful chemistry where we both owned our power and played on power dynamics. Adam also did my make-up and their own, which looked gorgeous. Big props to Fagan Wilcox and Jessica Galea too. They both directed and filmed the video; having such a passionate team is great. Given the strong and impactful lyrics of "Not Your Fetish," what do you hope listeners take away from the song in terms of understanding the experiences of minorities and marginalized individuals? I hope listeners understand how this world is conditioned to dismiss our humanity. Systemic oppression and toxic media narratives result in seeing individuals like us through a narrow lens of trauma, sexuality, generalized assumptions etc. Therefore, we aren’t seen for our full humanity. We’re complex, we’re so multi-faceted, and we have so many different, wide-ranging stories; that’s the point I want to drive home with this song. With "Not Your Fetish" marking the beginning of your journey as an artist, how do you envision your future musical endeavours? Are there any specific themes, collaborations, or artistic directions you want to explore in your upcoming projects? This darker, hard-hitting side is just one side of my artistry that I’m so excited to explore. I’ve never really believed in keeping to one genre as an artist; I envision myself delving into rock, trap, r&b and various other styles of EDM in the future. I want to delve deeper into identity, political systems and mental health. I’m a truth seeker, so I won’t hold back on the issues people refuse to discuss or see as taboo. Instagram Facebook
