Don't miss "Walk," available on all streaming platforms now. Welcome to BuzzMusic Rxch nad Chasmaine, and congratulations on another heavy hitter with “Walk” How has your journey as an artist influenced the message behind “Walk,” and what do you hope listeners take away from the song? Charmaine: As an artist, I have learned to be unapologetically ME. I am still growing as an artist, but my character and experiences shine through in every piece I create. "Walk" is a song that shows my growth and confidence as an artist. This track is self-empowering and reminds me of how no matter what challenges come my way through life or as an artist, I can "walk" through it, and nothing or no one will stop me from enjoying life or my personal journey. I hope listeners will feel motivated to be the best version of themselves daily and to celebrate their achievements regardless of what anyone else says or thinks about it! Rxch: My journey as an artist hasn't always been so easy; I've been through alot and have had to deal with most of my obstacles on my own. Everything I've been through has made me stronger, though. I have learned how to persevere, endure, and face my fears. In this industry, you get told no...alot! But..lol.. a no has never stopped me. I love the challenge; tell me I need to go harder or that I'm not as good as someone else, and I'll show you why that's a lie. I hope that my listeners will feel that. I hope they never give up or let anybody else tear them down to the point they stop doing what they love and what truly makes them happy. I want my audience to walk with their head held high and to play this record and feel like they are who they say they are, not what the world thinks they are. “Walk” has a powerful beat and layered production. Can you talk briefly about the creative process behind the song's instrumentation and how you approached bringing the beat to life? Charmaine: As stated, this beat is already so strong and catchy. In my approach to the track, I felt it was best to keep my vocals playful, robust, engaging and direct to support the overall story and element. Rxch: I can't speak on the beat itself, but s/o to the producer named Find Will. He turned this beat up, and I just told my story about it. The lyrics of “Walk” are all about self-belief and perseverance. Can you speak to your own experiences with these themes and how they've impacted your career as an artist? Rxch: Speaking for myself, I come from a city where it seems almost impossible to make it. It's a small town, Saginaw, Michigan, where everyone knows everyone and grew up as friends and family, so pretty much everyone knows your business. Many people are doing the same things you are, so it's hard to stand out, but few of us stand far out from the rest; the only problem with that is the hate that comes with it. Nobody wants you to do better or be better than they are, so everyone has very limited supporters, favouritism is at an all-time high, and the city has yet to learn how to come together to win because of egos. Coming from a place like that is tough. It takes self-motivation and self-determination to keep going and elevate past your limits. Wise people leave the city to find support elsewhere. I feel like I'm one of those people that stayed and made it happen regardless of all of my adversaries and obstacles along the way, and I never let and stop me or discourage me from becoming the best at what I do. Now I have legit listeners from all over the world. Charmaine: As an R&B singer who mixes in pop, sometimes it is hard to detect where to go with a song and the responses I will receive. Believing in myself and perseverance has always been a struggle because I truly put my all into everything I do and want to be respected and appreciated. In today's society, it is not always "popular" to go with what you haven't heard or aren't used to, and it makes you question yourself when the support you hope for is not received. I believe learning to speak my mind and not hold back as a songwriter and artist, as well as not giving up on this gift, has made me a better artist. When everything is happening around you, perseverance is not as easy as it sounds, but my love for music and seeing the finished product and the stories that come from it make me love and believe in myself more and more. I may not reach everyone, but I can guarantee that someone has always listened, which makes me proud. In “Walk,” you rap about staying true to yourself and doing what you feel. How have you stayed authentic to your vision as an artist while also evolving and growing in your sound and style? Rxch: Staying true to oneself is about following your heart and doing what makes you happy. I've never been the type to switch my style of music or flow based on what other people or other artists are doing. I've seen alot of my peers try to change their style of music and approach to fit what's popular, meaning to copy a style that someone else has succeeded in. Detroit has its sound and style, Flint has its unique sound as well, and I've seen many artists not from that way try their best to sound like them. I just do me, I let the music carry me away, and I allow the melodies of instrumentals to tell me what to say and how to say it. To me, that is staying too authentic to yourself. Charmaine: I have stayed true to myself by writing based on my experiences. When I harmonize or rap about a topic, I know the cadence and the overall sound I hear. I know the feeling I want to feel, so ultimately, only I can produce that sound in my head. I remain authentic to my vision by expressing what I see or hear with others working with me, and together we both learn and grow. This makes collaborating much more beautiful because we get each other's vision and give space for the other person to be them while sharing pieces of each other's true selves. The flow and delivery on “Walk” are especially impressive, with a rhythmic cadence that drives the song forward. Can you talk briefly about your approach to crafting your flow and how you balance technical proficiency with emotional expression in your rapping? Rxch: After hearing the beat, I knew immediately I had to step on this beat. I had to come with it. I got in my bag immediately and freestyled maybe the first 5 bars. That's where the emotion and adrenaline came from, and I realized I had something; I didn't want to fall off from that energy, so I wrote the rest but stayed on the topic of what the first 5 bars had. I wanted to remind people who I was after 2 years of being quiet in the music scene due to my filming two movies for the past few years. This was my wake-up song, and using auto-tune wouldn't cut it. I spoke to the world to let everyone know exactly how I am coming! And I also wanted to inspire people to do the same. Walk in your self-confidence and love yourself enough to make others respect you the way you want to be respected. That's also how I look at life. Charmaine: Once I heard the initial approach of the track. I listened over and over again to be able to catch the vibe. Rxch and I have worked on a few tracks and grown to know each other's sound. Once I could catch the flow and the cadence, the rest was history. lol. After I laid the first part and heard his verse following it, I was instantly inspired and kept my tempo to balance out what the track was given evenly. It was enjoyable seeing the development unfold. As you continue to evolve and grow as artists, what themes or topics do you hope to explore in your future music? Rxch: The journey I'm on now is exciting, and it's hard but worth the rewards I receive every day because I love music. The tools we have today are phenomenal because we can do everything ourselves without having to wait for a label or corporation to give us permission to do something with our crafts. I don't always know what to do or how to do it, but I am learning more and more every day, and if I can become successful off of my hard work, what more extraordinary accomplishment is there in life? To answer your question in short terms, the themes and topics are endless, and I want to explore as many as possible. I'm not stopping at just hip-hop and r&b music; I'm touching rock, pop, and club music in the future because I have the talent for it. Charmaine: When I craft my music, the beat initially motivates me. I hear a beat, and I tap into the emotion it makes me feel, producing a topic to expound upon. Going into a track, I don't already have a theme prepared. I will listen over and over again to the beat until one arises. In the future, I would like to make more empowering songs and focus on positive and relatable topics. I would like to evolve in delivering these types of tracks as an artist, regardless of the beat I listen to. I would like to bring positivity, passion, and creativity to all my future music. He faced adversity growing up in a poor and unstable environment. The song's lyrics are raw and unapologetic, filled with clever wordplay and metaphors that highlight Shae's lyrical prowess, and the beat is heavy and hard-hitting, setting the perfect backdrop for Shae's flow. In the opening verse, Shae confidently declares that he is a force to be reckoned with. He calls out his competition, asserting they are not ready for what he has to offer. He also emphasizes that he is always evolving and never predictable, making him a standout in the rap game. The pre-hook and hook of "Different" further reinforce Shae's unique persona. He declares that he's up for any challenge and will come out on top, no matter what. He also showcases his ability to deliver clever rhymes effortlessly. In the break, he warns his listeners that they'll be left behind if they miss his class. Overall, "Different" is a strong release from Volatile Shae. Fans of rap music looking for something different and fresh will find a lot to love in "Different." Look out for this one everywhere. Welcome to BuzzMusic Volatile Shae. Props to your latest banger with "Different." What inspired you to write "Different," and how did your experiences growing up influence the lyrics and message of the song? Thank you. The main thing that inspired me to write "DIFFERENT" was that I kept seeing and hearing the same sound, attitude, personality, and style. Nobody had any unique quality to them or any real type of lyrical skill, and it frustrates me because I put a lot of time and effort into my music. This wasn't a decision I just woke up one day and decided to make. I've been working towards this pretty much my whole life. Music and writing were my only outlets growing up. So music means a lot to me, and I take it very seriously. This is what I want to do with my life, and the people I'm seeing, to me, are like the kids that trace a picture and hold it up saying, "look what I made," like you didn't make shit and there are so many of them that it makes it harder for real artists to shine through all the gunk. The line "Rap is my superpower, I will defeat all you cowards" in the song suggests that you view rap as a powerful tool for self-expression and empowerment. Can you elaborate on how you see rap music contributing to social change? I believe that writing and music are extremely powerful no matter what form. Whether through rap, pop, rock or just a book. It's all about your connection with that song or piece of literature. What you derive from it and how it influences you. That matters, but it's all based on your experiences and the factors that have influenced you. I could make a song about creating a secular humanist society, but that doesn't mean it will make a difference. People need to be willing to accept change and growth; it can't be forced. In the second verse of "Different," you reference wanting to reach the top charts but suggest it's difficult without compromising your authenticity. How important is staying true to your artistic vision, and how do you balance commercial success with creative integrity? It's very important for me to stay true to myself and who I am. Because this music is like therapy to me, I'm not making music to make music. This is how I express myself. If I sacrifice any part of my creative freedom, then I've sacrificed part of myself, and the last thing I want to do is become another puppet of the music industry. I'll continue writing and creating music even if I don't make a dime. You're not only a rapper but also a music producer. How does your experience producing music affect your approach to creating lyrics and composing songs? Sometimes it can be challenging to create an instrumental because I'm mostly a lyricist. I've only been producing for a couple of years. So my mind gets distracted and wants to focus on the lyrical aspect rather than the producing one. Your song "Different" lyrics suggest you take inspiration from various hip-hop artists. Who would you say has impacted your style most, and why? The person with the biggest impact on my style, hands down, would have to be Eminem. I've been listening to his music since I was in elementary school. His music connected with me in a big way. I experienced and went through many similar situations as he did, and through him, I became influenced by various other rappers. In "Different," you mention the difficulty of reaching the top charts in the music industry. How do you measure success as an artist, and what goals do you hope to achieve with your music in the future? I believe success as an artist is connecting people to your art and reaching as many people as you can, and that's exactly what I want to do. My goal is to be regarded as one of my generation's top lyricists and earn my peers' respect. Instagram

  • Beto Vargas Creates A Magical Sonic Symphony On “I Won’t Stop”

Beto Vargas is a generational talent, a multi-faceted lightning rod equipped with an arsenal of musical armament. Some of his more-modest skills include producing, songwriting and sound engineering. It's no secret that we at BuzzMusic believe in presenting flowers where they are due, handing out silver roses on rear occasions & giving a voice to the brilliant but voiceless; for us, it's become a public duty, a civic service of sorts. So it comes with great pleasure to announce that in Grammy Nominated Beto Vargas, we've discovered a real diamond in the rough, a true artist who has shared studio sessions with the likes of Megastars, John Legend & Barbra Streisand. So let's keep it "a buck," shall we? Mr.Vargas is a colorful and compelling figure, an international artisté who hails from native Colombia in search of glory, conquest and groundbreaking world recognition. "I LIVE FOR THOSE MOMENTS WHEN MUSIC GIVES ME THE CHILLS. IT IS A UNIVERSAL LANGUAGE THAT CAN CHANGE THE WORLD & INSPIRE US TO BE GREAT." - Beto Vargas "I Won't Stop" as a single is heartwarming and spirit-stirring; it commands a steep level of sonic intimacy while remaining revolutionary in revelation. Crooning alongside Vargas is the female counterpart and silver screen-esc heroin, Camie Liano. Camia's Lyrical authority and silk vocals are both hauntingly flavourful and devilishly unforgettable; the duo's respective sonic tapestries mend incredibly well together. In the pop single "I Won't Stop," both artists' lyrical wit is on display as they endeavour to give us perspective on a modern-day dreamer's internal trials. Lyrics like, "Underneath my own emotions, a fire's drowning in an ocean, and it's burning all out; it's burning all out/it's choking me out it's got me down on my knees" remind us of the abnormal degrees of fortitude and courage needed to combat darkness on our journies. Lyrics like, "I was taught to stand up tall, but I'm afraid to fall, I gotta feeling in my bones; I gotta break myself free, but I can hear a song about to change, a hundred million hearts about to break, our voice is getting louder every day; it's gonna say," reminds us that perseverance only falls into the laps of those who fight defiantly against the notion of the great abyss. To us, the single "I Won't Stop" perfectly encapsulates our family ideals and company ethos; the ever-seductive word used to describe anything that gets our engines humming around here is buzzin', and this beautiful collaborative pop effort is sure to garner all the talk a musically brilliant artisté such as Beto Vargas, can handle. As always, folks, feast your eyes and wrap yourselves in the emotion of this emerging superstar's new single, "I Won't Stop," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic Beto Bargas, and congratulations on your latest release, "I Won't Stop." What were you going through that made you want to write "I Won't Stop?" Who were you targeting with this message? When Camie and I wrote “I Won’t Stop,” I was going through a time in my career when I felt burnt out and tired of all my efforts to achieve my dream were just going nowhere. Furthermore, I felt that the longer you are on this journey, the easier it is to lose track of who you are and your authentic voice. We try different styles, take risks, and change our sound to the point that we are unsure if that is genuinely ourselves anymore. And talking with different artists I work with, I realized that this is something every artist experiences sooner or later if you are in it long enough. So we realized that we wanted to make a song that spoke to artists and that, in a way, was a call to action. Remember that music will test us, mould us, and sometimes even change us so that we may become the best version of ourselves before the world is ready for us. A reminder that “I Won’t Stop!” Please let us know the details of the songwriting effort between you and Camia. How did this come about? This is a song where the words just poured out of us. Some songs are easier to write than others, but Camie and I were so connected with this idea that we wrote it one afternoon at my studio in a very natural and effortless way. Camie and I have also been working on her music for a few years, so we feel very comfortable with each other. But we had never written something so close to both of us, which brought a beautiful energy into the room and a level of honesty that made it so much more genuine and honest. Where does the single "I Won't Stop" rank on Beto's personal favourite songs list? This song is pretty up there in my favourite song list. I guess it’s because it’s one of the songs I felt more connected with when I wrote it. But also because the way it came out is precisely the sound I was looking for at this time. And lastly, because it is the first time I have someone featured on one of my songs, I’m happy it got to be with such a close friend and talented artist as Camie. Can we, as fans, expect more collaborative efforts from the maestro or was this feature more circumstantial? I have been getting this question more and more since this single came out. The audience's reaction has been incredible, and there will be more collaborations in the future, both with Camie and other artists. Working with other artists on your music is very fun, and I believe it opens up creativity and the opportunity to have different sounds and audiences. Being a producer has shown me this. I have the pleasure and privilege to work daily with amazingly talented individuals from whom I learn and get inspired daily. So we are already cooking up some ideas that I think you will all enjoy. Before you go, we must ask, what's next for Beto in this 2023 year? 2023 is packed with new music. My next single, “I’m Taking Over,” is set to release May 4th, alongside a music video, followed by the rest of the album later this year. We are also planning more shows to promote the album and hopefully a tour next year. So follow me on my socials and your digital platform of choice so you won’t miss any of it. The album is a cohesive body of work that takes listeners through Rashaann's experiences while travelling. Each track is unique, showcasing Rashaann's versatility as an artist, with his smooth vocals and thoughtful lyrics tying everything together. While the album's production is top-notch, the authenticity and vulnerability in Rashaann's lyrics make this project stand out. Far from Home is a must-listen for anyone who enjoys soulful, introspective music. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Rashaann. Congrats on your latest release 'Far from Home.' What was the most challenging aspect of creating an album meant to be a memoir of your travels and experiences instead of a collection of individual songs? Thank you. One of my biggest challenges with this project was getting out of my comfort zone and starting singing, mainly on “Whatever You Want” and “Land Mines.” I am not a good singer, but I had to realize some of my favourite bands and musicians aren’t necessarily the greatest singers either but know how to stay in their vocal range and be incredible songwriters. I figured that with a greater emphasis on melodies, songwriting, and instrumentation; I could sort of make up for my lack of vocal ability. Another challenge was trying to be sensitive with some of the subject matter on the project that speaks to certain people in my life. Can you tell us about a specific moment or experience during your travels that inspired the concept for 'Far from Home?' My first time visiting Thailand in December 2021 was the biggest influence on this project. I had no plans of releasing music for a while, but after this trip, I was inspired to start writing music again and travel much more, ultimately giving me more experiences to talk about. I don’t think an exact moment inspired the overall concept, but the experience as a whole. Asia is somewhere I’ve always fantasized about going to, and seemed impossible, so being there for the first time felt surreal. Also, I’ve met so many people along the way and made genuine connections while being far from home. How did your experience living in Atlanta influence the sound and style of 'Far from Home?' Atlanta had zero influence on 'Far from Home.' Everything I spoke about on the project was inspired by my travels elsewhere. Many artists struggle to balance their songwriter, producer, and performer roles. How did you manage these roles while creating 'Far From Home?' Honestly, I’ve never given much thought to balancing these different roles; I just felt they were all part of the job of being an artist. I co-produced the title track, “Far from Home,” with Poetic Junior, one of my closest friends and frequent collaborators. I didn't necessarily produce many other songs, but I rearranged a lot of the music to my liking to get my message across the best way possible. As far as songwriting, this was the most fun I’ve had crafting songs because I got out of my comfort zone and took risks and made music that was the closest to what I listen to in my everyday life more than before. As far as performing, there’s no struggle because it’s my favourite part of being an artist. Performing is the best opportunity to double down on expressing whatever feeling of the song you’re trying to convey. How do you plan to evolve your sound and style as an artist in the coming years? Are there any particular genres or musical elements you're interested in exploring? I plan to continue evolving and expanding my musical palette as I grow as an artist. However, I have no exact plans because I try not to force these things. I have many influences, so nothing would be off-limits for me to attempt. I want to improve my singing voice and learn to play a few instruments to apply to my craft. Instagram Facebook

  • Douglas Joyman Sails With “Barbarella”

Douglas Joyman, the alternative-pop artist and singer-songwriter, has recently shot a stunning music video for his song "Barbarella" in the breathtakingly beautiful city of Venice, Italy. Joyman, who was born in Lyon, raised in São Paulo and currently resides in New York, is known for his conceptual lyrics, contagious melodies, and ability to blend pop and indie music. Joyman released his first EP, 'Nekuia,' with producer Roger Moutenot and engineer Greg Calbi and has played throughout Manhattan with his band Spirit of Ecstasy. Joyman's latest music video, "Barbarella," features the talented French actress Emmanuelle Seigner, who plays the lead role in the video. The video is shot in Venice, Italy, and the city's picturesque canals, stunning architecture, and intricate bridges serve as the perfect backdrop for Joyman's ethereal and dreamy music. The video is visually stunning, with vibrant and vivid colours complementing the song's infectious and uplifting melody. Seigner's acting is top-notch, and she conveys the song's message with subtle yet powerful expressions. The video perfectly matches the song's lyrics, which speak about longing, love, and the heart's journey to pursue happiness. As the camera follows Seigner through the city's narrow alleys, Joyman's voice fills the air with its hypnotic and captivating timbre. The song's chorus is especially infectious, with its upbeat and cheerful melody that encourages listeners to let go of their worries and dance to the rhythm of the music. The “Barbarella" music video is a true masterclass showcasing Joyman's immense talent and ability to create music that touches the soul. With this video, Joyman has once again proven that he is one of the most promising artists in the music industry today, and we cannot wait to see what he has in store for us in the future. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Douglas Joyman. Cheers to the release of your dreamlike visual for “Barbarella" What inspired the concept and storyline for the black and white look, and how did you collaborate with actress Emmanuelle Seigner to bring it to life? The vision of this concept came from the director Giovanna Gorassini. We worked hand in hand, having in mind an Ode to Classic Italian Movies. Emmanuelle Seigner appeared like an evident choice. Her elegance, her way of moving. She embodies the soul of the cinema, and it was a perfect fit to serve the song's aesthetic. In "Barbarella," the lyrics and melody are distinctly dreamy. Can you speak to the creative process behind writing and composing this song? So this song came super naturally. I had a book of old poster movies while composing, and it was on the page of the movie "Barbarella" with Jane Fonda by Roger Vadim—the idea of an unreachable woman. The melody came to my mind with colours and pictures. "Barbarella" was shot in the beautiful city of Venice. Did the location influence the direction of the video, and how did you choose this particular setting for the visual representation of the song? I had one keyword for this project: "Water." Because this song is very liquid and fluid, I wanted to respect and honour it, and Giovanna had the magnificent idea of shooting it in La Serenissima. The video for "Barbarella" has a very cinematic feel, almost like a short film. Did you draw inspiration from any particular films or directors while crafting the visual elements of the video? I guess we both have some movies like "8 1/2" by Fellini and L'avventura by Michelangelo Antonioni in our bloodline. That's for the inspiration of the storyboard; we have been on the same page since the beginning. We also worked in Venezia with Producer and Location Manager Martina Rojas Chaigneau, that helped us find the perfect spots after she wrapped the movie Mission: Impossible 7. What new projects or releases can we expect from you in the near future, and how are you evolving your sound and style as an artist? • Renowned Songwriter Pete Francis Releases “Can’t Get On With It”

Pete Francis, a renowned songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, has just released his latest single, "Can't Get On With It," addressing his struggles with life's bindings. Francis has been in the music industry for quite some time, having been a founding member of the alternative roots band, Dispatch, which rose to fame in the late 90s. However, his departure from the band was necessary to prioritize his health and well-being. Francis' new album marks his first full-length release since his departure from the band. In "Can't Get On With It," Francis demonstrates his growth and transcendence, transforming his doubts and pains into an unflinching glimpse of his subconscious. He conveys intense rawness and vulnerability in the writing, and the arrangements are cathartic, encapsulating deeply personal reflections inside layers of dreamy vocal and instrumental tones. "Can't Get On With It" opens with piercing feedback, and the track is a mix of hope and despair, grappling with the guilt and frustration that comes with feeling stuck, wondering whether it is possible to make it through life on our own. In contrast, the hypnotic title track ponders whether abstraction can lead to revelation. Francis explores a world of improvised abstraction, and his lyrics are a testament to the power of introspection, offering us resolve, even if everything seems broken. Francis reflects on the difficulties he's faced in his life and how he's struggled to find meaning and purpose. He sings about feeling lost and disconnected from the world around him and the frustration that comes with being unable to move forward. Despite these challenges, the song also contains a sense of hope and resilience, with tones of perseverance. "Can't Get On With It" is a song that showcases the growth and transcendence of Pete Francis as he confronts his demons head-on. The track is a testament to the power of love and the art of healing. Francis invites his listeners to feel less fearful and isolated by constructively sharing his experiences. "Can't Get On With It" is a must-listen for anyone seeking an honest, raw, and vulnerable musical experience. Check this one out. Available everywhere. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Pete Francis! Cheers to letting it all out on your latest release, "Can't Get On With It" in which you sing about feeling stuck in a rut and not being able to move forward. What inspired you to write this song, and how do you typically work through creative blocks in your songwriting process? I wanted to marinate in the feeling of being stuck in writing “Can’t Get On With It.” What is being stuck all about? We've all been stuck at some point in our lives. This song celebrates the commiseration, the community of all of us feeling stuck sometimes. I get it - It's more gratifying to say, "I'm finally free" or “I've broken through the chains." but what about when you are honestly frozen? I feel that within that space, something exciting is about to happen - a chain reaction of sorts. The lyrics of "Can't Get On With It" suggest a sense of frustration and disillusionment with the world around you. How do you maintain hope and optimism in the face of adversity, both in your personal life and society? I feel life and my work is about discovery; there is always something to learn. One of my favourite quotes is from the Dalai Lama: true change is within; leave the outside as it is. I wake up every morning and grab my guitar. I write down words and phrases, half-written poems on old receipts. I tune in to inspiration everywhere I can. The instrumentation in "Can't Get On With It" has a soulful feel that complements the introspective lyrics. Can you talk about your musical influences and how they have shaped your sound? For me, music is like a sonic ocean. I want to sail the sound waves forever, searching for all the frequencies that tickle the soul. Funk, soul, jazz, hip hop, music from around the world... I can't get enough. I have a deep love for Miles Davis and Van Morrison. They are kings, for sure. Miles' music was so original; his sound was both masculine and feminine - he was a sorcerer. And Van is Irish. The Irish have given us Yeats and Joyce. These bards have control and mastery over the English language. The poetry in Van Morrison's song, "Into the Mystic," and the sublime music accompanying those words is why I chose to become a poet and songwriter. Miles and Van's work is timeless and is medicine for the soul. I'm drawn first to the passion and conviction of a composer, writer, and musician: all the great songwriters, poets, and composers. I want to close my ear to the speaker and dig into all the beautiful music. Your vocal performance in "Can't Get On With It" is particularly emotive, conveying a sense of raw vulnerability and honesty. How do you connect with your lyrics personally, and what role does authenticity play in your artistic expression? I try not to be too careful when putting down my musical and lyrical ideas. I don't want to make every last note perfect or every word sensical. The form is very important, but within the structure, something must be living, so the music is evocative and true. Your music has evolved from your early days with Dispatch to your solo work. How do you see your sound continuing to evolve in the future? I hope to collaborate with more artists and musicians. I love the spark when I jam with someone who shares the spirit of sound. It's so exciting; it's magic. I feel we are here on earth to try and create beauty. It aligns us with our natural state of being. I hope to be part of that energy that inspires and heals. Facebook Instagram

  • Jonathan Sparks Mixes The “The Paint Between”

Jonathan Sparks, the Atlanta-based rocker, has released a new single titled "The Paint Between," showcasing his exceptional musicianship as a singer, songwriter, and guitarist. Sparks is no stranger to the music industry, having worked with seasoned producers like Ross Childress and Peter A. Barker, who have collaborated with renowned artists such as Guns N Roses, Fall Out Boy, Jeff Beck, and Black Label Society. Jonathan Sparks musical style is characterized by a heavy blues jam, which he skillfully combines with his insightful lyrics that delve into the timeless subject of lost love. In "The Paint Between," Jonathan Sparks tells the tale of the lament of a love lost, but he manages to infuse a touch of humour and wry analogies into the song that prevents it from sounding maudlin. The lyrics reflect on the impact of a lover's departure on the Jonathan Sparks life, with lines such as "Before you came around, there was only one season" and "My rivers quit flowing until there was nothing left to plow." The song's chorus repeats the phrase, "You didn't give me no lines to paint in-between," which adds to the wistful and regretful mood of the track. Jonathan Sparks skillful guitar work is a standout feature of the track, with his heavy bluesy riffs and solos providing the perfect backdrop for his soulful vocals. The instrumentation is layered and dynamics and the songs production is top-notch. With Barker's engineering expertise in the mix, it creates a powerful and polished sound. "The Paint Between" is a standout track from Jonathan Sparks, showcasing his talents as a musician and songwriter. The song's heavy blues jam, insightful lyrics, and skillful instrumentation make it a must-listen for rock and blues music fans. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jonathan Sparks; cheers to letting your soul out on "The Paint Between." Can you tell us about the inspiration behind the lyrics of "The Paint Between"? What emotions and experiences did you draw upon when writing this song? I was single for a long time, and I had all my shit figured out—everything was in its place; I just felt dry and hollow. There was just too much control. It reminded me of living in LA—there was only one season. I needed the seasons, though. I needed that rain and winter. A woman brought all of that. She brought chaos and life with her. It was hot. I tried to pull that heat into the song; it was a steamy ordeal and thrilling, but eventually it overwhelmed me. Your collaboration with producers Ross Childress and Peter A. Barker has produced outstanding music. Can you talk about your creative process when working with these talented producers and how they influenced the sound of "The Paint Between?" Peter is like Occham’s razor—he cuts deep into a song's heart and pulls its essence out. It’s such an honour to work with him. Ross has a way of magically making music sound like it did in my head when I was first writing it. It’s hard to describe it. There was an episode of Star Trek, TNG, where these devices would automatically play the music in your head. Ever since I saw that episode, I’ve been trying to find it. Ross is that brilliant. He’s on another level. The song's chorus repeats the phrase, "You didn't give me no lines to paint in-between." Can you explain the significance of this line and how it ties into the song's overall message? I remember being told I had to paint between the lines as a kid. I was also proud of how good I got at following the rules. Those rules, though, link back to the first verse. If you follow all the lines, you lose; there’s no “life” when everything is so organized. The woman I was with when I wrote the song was all beautiful imagination; she was so deeply rooted to the fantastical that there was no structure, there were no lines that I could paint in, the colours just bled into one another, and we were left with a brown paint blob. But it was magical. I’m grateful for the experience. "The Paint Between" deals with the timeless subject of lost love. How do you hope listeners will connect with the song, and what message do you hope they take away from it? It’s a vibe, I guess. There’s a real arc to the story in the song, and I hope, at least, that capturing that feeling and story in music is much more rewarding than living through it. What direction do you see your music taking in the future as a musician? My goal is to write good lyrics that mean something, maybe catch a part of life that we’re going through but hadn’t expressed before, and tie it to good music, music that we can rock out or dance to, or feel. That’s my goal, anyway. Are there any new styles or genres that you are interested in exploring? I love how modern music pulls from so many different genres these days. Pop artists have an emo vibe mixed in with something sultry and jazzy, and rappers have spots that sound like a Miles Davis album from the late 70s and then clock you with a hook like an old country song. I’d love to combine more genres and join in the mind-expanding musical renaissance we’re all hearing. Instagram Facebook

The song showcases her unique and refreshing approach to R&B with its lush, jazz-influenced composition supported by stacks of backing vocals, boomy 808s, heavy bass, and a gorgeous piano that perfectly complements Jasmine's voice. The song was written to recognize how far Jasmine has come to learn to appreciate herself fully, and she wants other people to feel the same way about themselves. Her introspective and vulnerable lyrics showcase her growth as an artist and a person, making the song even more meaningful. Fans of R&B and soul will not want to miss this rising star's debut EP, set for release on May 5th, 2023. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Jasmine Matthews. Amazing work on letting your soul out on “Reverie.” How did your journey of self-discovery and learning to appreciate yourself fully influence the creation of "Reverie"? Thank you! The creation of Reverie was a huge milestone for me. Writing as authentically and honestly as possible was of high importance, and for me, this track solidified who I wanted to be as an artist and personally. Can you speak to the inspiration behind the lush, jazz-influenced composition of "Reverie" and how it reflects your artistic style? My overall vision for Reverie was to blend smooth jazz and RnB with modern, polished production. That decision was made to reflect my artistic style because my influences stem from early 40’s Ella Fitzgerald to 2012 Frank Ocean, and I wanted to capture the best of both worlds. The lyrics of "Reverie" evoke a dreamy and emotionally driven quality. Can you discuss the process of crafting those lyrics and how they capture the song's essence? I wrote Reverie as a way to shift my mindset when it comes to love and relationships. It’s a challenge for me to open up to people intimately; I usually focus on the negative parts or have my guard constantly up. "Reverie" was born because I wanted to change those parts about myself and my thinking. "Reverie" is the title track of your upcoming EP. How does this song set the tone for the rest of the EP, and what themes or messages can listeners expect to hear throughout the project? "Reverie" sets the tone for the rest of the EP by encapsulating a dream-like romance. I want listeners to get caught up in the honeymoon phase and be in love with the idea of love before we venture into a more serious, vulnerable tone with the other tracks. You've been gaining traction as a rising star of RnB, and your debut studio EP is highly anticipated. How does "Reverie" represent your growth and evolution as an artist, and what can fans look forward to from you in the future? "Reverie" is my debut release. It represents my artistic growth from writing lyrics in my bedroom to actively following my passion for being a performer; I’m so grateful for that. For my next project, fans can look forward to hearing me experiment with new sounds and a shift in the way I tell my stories. Instagram Facebook

With this album, Katie Dauson has established herself as an artist to watch in the years to come, and we can't wait to see where her music takes her next. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Katie Dauson. Thank you for letting your thoughts free on 'Past The Sea.' The title of your album suggests a journey or passage. Can you talk about what inspired the album's title and how it relates to the themes and messages explored throughout the songs? Thank you. What inspired the album title was my personal journey in life, from a mental health perspective, and my own experiences. I wanted to explore these themes in real life and with whimsical fantasy. I originally intended for Past The Sea, the album's title track, to be single. However, I realized I had several songs in the same genre exploring similar themes and felt it would work better as the crux of a contemporary folk album. Once I finished writing the songs, they fit perfectly, as I had just completed a jigsaw puzzle. Many songs on "Past The Sea' touch on change, growth, and self-discovery themes. Was there a particular experience or period of your life that inspired these themes, and how did you explore them in your songwriting? The seventh song on 'Past The Sea,' called "As Time Goes By," is about my experiences that inspired most of this album. In that song, I detailed my trials and tribulations of trying desperately to find myself. Songwriting, for me, is a funny thing: I only write when I'm inspired. It won't turn out well if I try to force the subject. So, an idea has to hit me, and then it flows from there. I didn't necessarily write this album in one single chunk; I had written other songs in between that had nothing to do with 'Past The Sea.' It's really what inspires me in the moment. I did not map out this album, the songs just came to me, and I would add a song to it if I felt it would fit. 'Past the Sea' features various instruments and sounds, from acoustic guitars to drums and bass. Can you talk a bit about your approach to instrumentation and production on the album and how you worked with your collaborators to bring your vision to life? When I wrote a song on guitar, that instrument would be on that track. The same goes for the mandolin. I wrote two songs on the mandolin and played the rhythm section on the mandolin on those two songs, "Red Eyed Moon" and "Paper Crane." I worked closely with my engineer/producer to figure out what other instruments would fit each song and the style. I did a lot of research on older yet contemporary folk music to inform and inspire the musical styles. If I felt like an instrument would fit the style of the song, then I wanted it on the track, including a rainstick on the song "The Green Dragon Motel." Now that 'Past the Sea' is out, what are your hopes and goals for the album? Are there particular songs or themes that you hope will resonate with listeners or particular venues or festivals that you're hoping to play in support of the album? I'm not planning a tour because I'm spending so much time in the studio unless there is a significant demand. My hope for the album is that it inspires listeners to be better. The world has a lot of darkness, and I want to shine some light on it. 'Past the Sea' is a fantastic debut album, and we're excited to hear more from you. Do you have any plans for new music or upcoming projects that you can share with us? I'm so glad that you've enjoyed 'Past The Sea.' I'm working in the studio on a really fun and exciting Rock N' Roll album called Full Nelson. I'm hoping to have that released in May. It's got twelve songs on it. Initially, I started with eight, and it just grew from there. It shows another side and style of my writing and music. As a teaser, let's just say Rock N' Roll is coming back. Before Full Nelson releases, I have a surf rock single called "Road Trip" coming out May 5. I performed this song during a showcase event back in February, and it brought down the house. It's a fun summer song. Beyond May, I'm hoping to release more singles. Instagram

With over five years of experience as a soloist, Mitchell is no stranger to the game, and with his talent and commitment to his craft, there’s no limit to how far he can take it. Something that immediately sets Tamar apart from other musicians is his incredible resilience, determination and grace in the face of adversity. Instead, he has committed to using his music to inspire and uplift others, encouraging them to see the brighter side of life and overcome any challenges that come their way. Above all else, his resilience and positive attitude shine through in every release, lighting the way for those following him. His latest release, “Best Friend,” follows this blueprint; over a bright (and dare we say hopeful?) instrumental sound, Mitchell’s vocals shine through like the sun coming out from the clouds after a rainy day. Dropping lines like “I don't want to move too fast /Just to loo loo lose you,” Mitchell’s delivery turns lyrics that show trepidation into ones that instead radiate hope and positivity, while lines like “I just may hit your line and show you that your mine / Yeah you one of a kind” radiate the kind of positivity that leaves you smiling before you even realize it. If you need a bright, cheerful, but ultimately groovy new song to get into, Tamar Mitchell’s “Best Friend” will be a song you want to watch out for. Whenever you’re ready, tap in and stream “Best Friend,” available soon. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Tamar Mitchell! Wow, we loved “Best Friend,” it was super cool how you took lyrics that may sound hesitant but turned them into something overwhelmingly positive! We have to ask, what inspired this song? Were you drawing from personal experience? Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it) BestFriend was definitely from personal experience. It starts as a reflection song. Best Friend is of two meanings. The first one is "mental," me being my own best friend. I start off talking to myself, reassuring myself that I have my own back no matter what and that I will make my dreams a reality. The second meaning stems from "physical" actually having a best friend with that you're hesitant to express your feelings toward them. As humans, we bottle up emotion sometimes and often are scared of the possible outcome. You mentioned that you’re afflicted with hemophilia A, which is difficult to deal with. How do you persevere and remain positive? Do you have any advice for people who may also be struggling in a similar situation? Having Hemophilia has been a struggle growing up I persevere and remain positive because music heals, and I plan to help those needing healing to find peace and real stories in my music. Connecting with the disabled community Im in hopes of giving those of difference hope and strength to know that they can do or be anything they want to be and live their lives to the fullest. There is a real pain, love, and moments in my music that many can relate to. Why do you make music? I refrain from the statement of making music, I live through it, and it flows through me. Music is within me and gives me the ability to shift atmospheres. I embrace the process because it gives me freedom of expression; I am completely me when I write, sing, or play an instrument. What’s been your favourite musical memory thus far? My favourite musical memory thus far has been working with the company Beacon Street in California. The vibes were amazing I truly love the process of making great music. What’s next for Tamar Mitchell? Do you have any big plans for the rest of the year? What's next for Tamar Mitchell is the life I always wanted and saw myself in, and that's on being a superstar. I plan on launching my jewelry brand, "Drip," a very exclusive type of jewelry. This year I plan to finish the recordings of an album I've been working on with my band GREY full of different musicians and artists, but mostly Chicago's finest. This is something that a lot of people would want to tune into. Lastly, performing at the Metro this year will be a blast and planning on doing more pop performances at festivals and collaborating with So Far Chicago this year. Instagram
