- go4broke Searches For His Past Self In “Don’t Speak”
Hailing from the broad Philadelphia music scene, alternative pop recording artist and singer-songwriter go4broke releases his self-coined 'social anxiety anthem' with the upbeat new bop entitled "don't speak." go4broke's exciting pop tracks never fail to explore profoundly intimate themes of his life experiences, helping listeners relate and feel understood. His live performances in the Philly and New Jersey areas have helped him expand his fanbase far and wide with listeners who continuously return to see what he's pumping out next. In March, go4broke released his self-written, produced, and recorded debut EP, mad. Due to the dark, moody, and emotion-packed vibes of the project, go4broke felt it was time to flip the switch and head down a brighter path with his recent single, "don't speak." Although the production and instrumentation are thrilling, go4broke uses the track to express his anxieties and how he deals with them. Hitting play on "don't speak," we can instantly tell this song is perhaps go4broke's catchiest tune to date. He kicks off the experience with sizzling synths and driving drums that lead into the captivating first verse. Although the sweet guitar melodies provide this upbeat and feel-good nature, go4broke dives deep into his personal thoughts of wishing he could return to his old self. It's a deeply personal song contrasted by the glittering pop, alternative, and hyperpop production that keeps listeners moving and grooving. This track is reminiscent of classic emotional bangers where the lead vocalist confesses their utmost personal thoughts, and we're just over here grooving without a care in the world. Watch as go4broke's sound evolves right before your eyes, err, ears, with his fiery yet emotional new single, "don't speak," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, go4broke. Congratulations on releasing the catchy, bold, and personal new single, "don't speak." What inspired you to take a more uplifting and feel-good route with this single? Well, last year I was writing a lot of dark and moody songs that I really liked, but I felt tired of doing such a similar sound repeatedly. I was also listening to a lot of indie pop music, and it made me want to try and translate my feeling into a new kind of track that I don’t usually make. However, it got me on a kick, and I have had so much fun making music with this sound, I can’t wait to share the other tracks I have! Why did you want to create such a drastic contrast between your emotional lyrics and uplifting instrumentals in "don't speak?" What made you want to confess your anxieties through a radiant pop track? I write music about whatever I am feeling at the moment. I usually start by making an instrumental that has no prewritten lyrics or melody and try to create a vibe through that. With this track, I was making this upbeat beat but feeling very isolated and alone. It made me want to make a track that I could dance to alone in my room. And that is where the song ended up going. I freestyled the chorus on the first take, and I knew that’s how I wanted it to sound. Although we were grooving away to your lively instrumentals in "don't speak," what message did you want to convey to your audience? What did you want to get across? The message I want to get across is that it’s not only okay to feel anxious, but it’s also normal. I think we, as a community and specifically the younger generation, tend to put a smile on and go along with whatever is happening around us, even if we don’t feel okay. With this song, I wanted to make feeling down or wanting to take time for yourself to feel okay. The song is about things I have been through, and I want people who relate to it to feel heard. Do you think you'll continue down this route of catchy and vibrant alternative pop tracks similar to "don't speak"? Or might you explore different genres and sounds in the near future? I definitely have songs that have a similar sound in the pipeline, but I have a wide array of songs that are also coming out in the near future. I am very enthusiastic about trying new things and making songs in genres that I don’t normally do. I will say having a catchy melody or something that sticks with the listener is always important to me. The foundation of my music is pop music I grew up listening to it, I just build on it with different sounds that I am surrounded by. What's next for you? There is a lot of new music, shows, and more coming in the next month and months to come. This isn’t just a one-off single; expect a full project in 2023! Instagram Facebook
- Summer Brennan Wears Her Heart On Her Sleeve In Her Newest Single, “Nowhere”
Based in Orange County, California, Pop singer and songwriter Summer Brennan releases her award-worthy new single “Nowhere.” Summer Brennan is a 16-years-old artist who channels her feelings towards her experiences through singing and songwriting. It is hard to process the great contrast between disappointments and the beauty of modern society, but music offers a way of reflecting on it. In that matter, you must hear what such a talented musician as Summer has to say. “Nowhere” is a point where exceptional songwriting and instrumentals meet Summer Brennan’s fantastic vocal skills and expression. Summer shows passion when her lyrics talk about a dreamy but gone love, and her song starts low but keeps building up emotional energy, like saying that there is always hope in melancholy. Getting into “Nowhere” starts with a gentle, touching acoustic guitar enveloping your senses. Soon, Summer’s soothing voice sings an invitation to ‘drive to nowhere,’ which, combined with the instrumental, lets you picture a silent but pleasant company with whom you can just live the moment. As “Nowhere” keeps playing, more instrumentals show up, building a wall of sound. A second guitar, bass, and a tender piano accompany Summer Brennan’s vocals, who keeps singing higher notes as she opens her heart and shows her vulnerability. When it reaches its peak, you can’t help but feel the shivers in your skin. In addition, watch the music video; the breathtaking landscapes reaffirm the sentimental feeling of listening to “Nowhere.” Thus, click play and surrender to Summer Brennan’s “Nowhere." Thank you for joining us at BuzzMusic Summer Brennan, and congratulations on your latest release, "Nowhere." What is the story that inspired “Nowhere?” This story is about another person and me growing apart and how I did not completely understand why we grew apart. This song is my way of saying, “can we pretend for a moment nothing changed?” And then questioning, “wait, why did we grow apart?” This song is genuinely me speaking out loud through the end of a relationship with someone. What did the creative process of "Nowhere" look like? I started this song on my bedroom floor with my thoughts and a keyboard. I usually repeat a chord progression and then start mumbling to myself the story. The things I never say in a conversation somehow always come out when I’m on the floor of my room singing to myself. How did writing “Nowhere” make you grow as an artist? Writing nowhere is one of my most intimate and emotional songs. Writing songs is my way to get over harder times in my life, so after I wrote this song, I felt like I was able to touch upon different emotional aspects in my writing. Is there a message you would like to add to "Nowhere?" I feel that I have said all I need to say within my song, but I hope my experience helps people who also didn’t get their closure to a slow-fading relationship. What’s next for you? My goals are to continue releasing music and eventually release an EP! I will also continue doing live performances and collaborating with other artists. Instagram Facebook
- Introduce Yourself to D.O.M of DnD’s New Album “Please B Patient, I’ll Die Soon”
Scorching the hip-hop scene from Calgary, Alberta, is songwriter and rapper D.O.M of DnD with his jam-packed and dynamic 18-track album entitled, Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon. The Canadian rapper has been spitting bars and writing rhymes for eight years. He has myriad musical influences, ranging from veterans like Eminem to Joyner Lucas. As the pandemic hit, D.O.M of DnD began partaking in the weekly ciphers hosted by the subreddit "r/makinghiphop." Now an integral part of Splinter Faction, the supergroup from the same subreddit, D.O.M of DnD is ready to continue blazing trails with his recent body of work, the 18-track Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon. The album starts with a spicy collaboration between D.O.M of DnD, SYLLAblistic, and Jay Cactus entitled "Counting My Blessings." The track captivates us from the moment the mysterious and hazy production floats through the speakers. D.O.M of DnD opens the track while counting his blessings and throwing all the energy into his conceptual and tightly-knit bars. SYLLAblistic's charismatic and confident flow evens the song with a spitfire rap that easily brings us to the outro. Jumping into track number two, "How 2 Fall In Luv Pornstars," D.O.M of DnD greets the speakers solo in this how-to track while teaching listeners a thing or two about achieving what might seem impossible. Although D.O.M of DnD attacks the verse with his energy-packed performance, his bars are quite playful and prompt a few giggles here and there. It's quite a clever track and definitely worth the listen. Onto track three, "Autopilot," this listening experience features the production stylings of Legion Beats, kicking off with a smooth and sultry jazz/hip-hop beat. This introspective song helps listeners understand a more personal side to D.O.M of DnD as he expresses feelings on "Autopilot" and navigating through sticky situations. Legion Beats' melodic and mellow production rounds out the song to perfection. On track four, "What If?" we hear D.O.M of DnD pair up with rapper OCTOBER and the blissful production stylings of KC Stoner. As D.O.M of DnD tackles the first verse, KC Stoner's slow-burn and melancholy production brings us all the emotion and grit we could ask for. OCTOBER's equally introspective verse blesses us with his poised and composed performance while asking all sorts of relatable, mind-boggling questions. Reaching track number five, "The Perch," D.O.M of DnD hits us with another solo track that pounces through the speakers with his hard-hitting, thoughtful bars and soft production. If there's anything we've noticed thus far is that D.O.M of DnD is following in the footsteps of the articulate, sharp, conceptual, and tightly-knit Eminem sounds, this song is a perfect example. In the first interlude, "Your Conscience (skit)," D.O.M of DnD opens up from the perspective of his conscience, letting him know that he's not doing too bad. Not the best, but not the worst. It's a wholesome and inspirational skit that helps us see a softer side of the rapper we've come to know. Onto another scorcher of a single is track seven, "Can't Feel A Thing," pumping through the speakers with a heavy old-school beat alongside D.O.M of DnD's quick and sharp-shooting bars. Featuring Anno Domini Beats, the song's hazy and mysterious production blesses us with pristine old-school vibes that help this track feel like a classic. It's a head-bopper and perhaps our favorite track on the album...so far. D.O.M of DnD sinks deeper into his intriguing lyrical concepts on the eighth track, "Kindness Is A Sin." While the gentle and harmonious production hums through the speakers, D.O.M of DnD expands on his perception of kindness and how it doesn't always turn out for the better. It's an edgy deep dive into the mind of D.O.M of DnD that's rounded out with spine-chilling production that washes our speakers in darkness and emotion. Reaching track nine and the album's halfway point, "Your Conscience pt.2 (skit)," we're met with the second skit of D.O.M of DnD's conscience, this time giving him the rundown on his music career. While acknowledging how he prefers making edgy art, the conscience suggests turning down the down-bad while prompting him to rethink his far-out lyrical concepts. As we abruptly move into track ten, "Calgary Is Mine," a smooth and melodic acoustic guitar picks through the speakers while D.O.M of DnD jumps into his confident and poised first verse. He brings all the energy and hard-hitting vibes we could ask for from a modern, young hip-hop act, and D.O.M of DnD is making it clear he's here to stay. Produced by KC Stoner, the atmospheric production paired with D.O.M of DnD's dominant performance is a match made in heaven. It doesn't stop there. On track eleven, "Finals Season," D.O.M of DnD grabs the song by the horns in this punchy solo. He rumbles our speakers with thick 808s and crispy snares that clap alongside D.O.M of DnD's captivating bars and thrilling performance. This is the most energetic and dominant we've seen D.O.M of DnD, and we couldn't be happier to see another young artist flourish. Bringing back Anno Domini Beats for track number twelve, "Quiet Kid Shit," D.O.M of DnD also pairs up with the jaw-dropping sounds of Rittz, who opens the song with a bang. His quick and conceptual bars lock us into his gripping performance that flows into D.O.M of DnD's fierce flow with a dynamic back-and-forth. We love this heavy-hitting toe-tapper and all its energy, power, and might. Drifting into a more reflective and emotional piece with track thirteen, "Hate Love," a deeply nostalgic 50s-esque tune floats through the verse while shifting into the shimmering lofi-inspired production. D.O.M of DnD takes this track solo while opening up about personal themes, experiences, and nihilism around him. It's a short but sweet track that feels like a page ripped out of D.O.M of DnD's diary. Teaming up with rappers Litorical and Pat Clover for track fourteen, "Something Somewhere," D.O.M of DnD opens this song with his swift bars that sink into the smooth-sailing and melodic production. Litorical's breezy introduction brings us some seriously conceptual and dominant bars while discussing the woes of living in uncertainty. Finally, Pat Clover closes the track with his cool, calm, collected verse that blesses us with uplifting themes of landing exactly where you need to be. Reaching the third interlude, "Your Conscience (skit) [Final Part]," D.O.M of DnD's conscience doesn't beat around the bushes this time and blatantly demands he stop caring about people who don't care for him. It's his final warning to get his priorities straight before shit goes down. Landing on the sixteenth track, "Roll With You," this sweet-sounding and guitar-driven track blesses us with D.O.M of DnD's solo performance that opens the song with radiance and power. It's a feel-good track that sonically serenades us with a stunning sample alongside D.O.M of DnD's authoritative bars that prompts a smile. It's a lush and vibrant tune that should make its way to your playlist. Reaching the final interlude of the album, "Epilogue (Interlude)," this 1-minute listening experience hits us with haunting and crisp production alongside D.O.M of DnD edgy bars that discuss some seriously intense themes. This track feels like an outburst of emotion that couldn't wait for the next album. It needed to be heard. Hitting play on the album's final and outro track, "My Story," we end the project with some praise and love thrown toward D.O.M of DnD from fellow cypher-goers who simply can't compete his cut-throat stylings. TapDaddy's organ and drum-heavy production perfectly pave the way for D.O.M of DnD to spit his bars with composure and perfection, ending the record on a note of appreciation for his craft, the people who listen, and the people who helped him become the successful artist he is today. When you're ready to sink your ears into an act whose sound and style know no bounds, we're happy to introduce you to D.O.M of DnD and his recent 18-track album, Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon, now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, D.O.M of DnD. Congratulations on releasing your jam-packed 18-track album, Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon. What inspired you to create this dynamic and personal project? First of all, thanks again for having me on your site. With regards to what Please B Patient (that's the shortened version I address my album by) was influenced by, There were multiple facets that influenced me in creating this project ranging from just sheer boredom with being inside due to the pandemic to seeing how my friends were dealing with adulthood in the pandemic (eg, sticking to their job, family issues, university, etc.). But I think what pushed me over the edge to get me to create this project was being force-fed content on my social media feed of people either complaining at each other or talking about how much injustice there is in the world. Another influence behind this was that as a result of my rapping so often, I'd attracted people whom I felt were parasitic and had to be cut off. It was just until the beginning of 2022 that I began to have feelings of just being fed up with those kinds of people and those kinds of stories simply because they're in such large volume. "Kindness Is A Sin" and "The Perch" are good examples of this with lines such as "Can't help everyone. Why to bother help anyone...," or "When they tell you to do better, then they make you feel lesser. And when they tell you lesser, it makes you feel better." What was your experience collaborating with the many artists and producers on Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon? Did you meet these artists from your weekly cyphers? With regards to this project exclusively, the only artist that came directly from the Cyphers was October (https://www.instagram.com/octobergrowscolder/), who appears on "What If?," and we have collaborated before on his track "Speaking of Failures" (https://soundcloud.com/octobergrowscolder/speaking-of-failures-feat-dom-of-dnd-prod-drk), my song "Drop The Mic," (https://open.spotify.com/track/01ze8Mz5buFXCYp0Bk3XgY?si=e54aff24b98b4499), and a track from our supergroup Splinter Faction's song "Amor," which I produced (https://open.spotify.com/track/5ZBfquvL6SUsZxJtI5ZSNW?si=f914b461ed0d4b1f). Regarding the making of What If, this one went pretty smoothly, only going through 3-4 mixes before it was platform-ready and only dealing with small leveling issues. His line in this song, "Birds of a feather, they flock together, but the flock is wherever I'm not," resonated with me so well in the context of the song because it's such a good metaphor for never fitting in if we never rapped. Previous collaborations involving him have taken up about the same amount of mixes and time. In addition, producer "KC Stoner" (https://www.instagram.com/kayceebeats999/) was also one of the producers from the Cypher I work with regularly now as he liked the energy I brought in one of the Cyphers he produced for r/makinghiphop. The other artists I've collaborated with on this project I have come across because of Discord servers advertised on r/makinghiphop, mainly Immortal Being's Discord (now part of Nebula Productions) and Cosmicprank's Discord server. Why did you want to add skits from your conscience in the album Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon? Why was it important for you to give listeners that perspective? As I began to evolve as an artist in both how I carried myself online and in skill, I became acutely aware of both what my colleagues were saying about my growth music as well as people who inspired me with regards to my music, mainly from artists such as Rittz and Youtubers such as Indigo White. In addition, because of the praises from these kinds of figures, I eventually became scared that my ego would grow so big I'd become an insensitive asshole or another wannabe in the industry that is a one-hit-wonder. In a way, these skits I put down aren't just giving the listeners an embodiment of what impressions people have given me further explored in songs such as "My Story," but also a way of holding myself accountable to not be a prick. So the listeners know how I see my work as an artist evolve as they get used to listening to me. When you're starting out, you either start out thinking you're the shit or you ain't shit, and as you evolve, you either start getting full of yourself or you keep beating yourself up either because you're having a hard time fitting into the niches you listen to or you try to live up to unrealistic expectations set by others or yourself. From a sonic point of view, The skits provide a break between each segment of the album to process all the things I've said and allow the listeners to categorize which moods of songs go with which skits, as well as the sorts of content that would follow up. How does Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon stand out from your previous albums? What's different about this project compared to the others? Compared to my entire discography, Please B Patient is an album with a more implicit theme than the other two projects I view as my Magnum Opuses: The Simpleton's EP (https://open.spotify.com/album/6QNq5f8K0VjNuRE0l1hOWl?si=uONm6tj2RsWzH7cZuY-4VQ) and World D.O.Mination (https://open.spotify.com/album/0dAELhpE1jSvAmCAgts0zM?si=VBzgpzW3SaOMEVWOK5ZxNA). Content-wise, Please B Patient is more sporadic than The Simpleton's EP and World D.O.Mination because it makes such radical jumps between the moods I'd convey and is less coherent in terms of what kind of content each song covers. For example, The Simpleton's EP is an album where I dedicated each track to "accountants," I would watch (check UrbanDictionary for that definition). At the same time, World D.O.Mination has each song named after something related to war or conquest. However, Please B Patient specializes in more generalized moods in each song by analyzing what makes me nihilistic, what matters to me, and how I see myself in the future as an artist. In addition, Please B Patient is also a more sonically appealing project compared to my last few large accomplishments, as I've managed to make my mixing more polished in this project and became more aware of how to modulate my voice throughout a song, something World D.O.Mination lacks and the Simpleton's EP rarely uses. What was your goal with Please B Patient, I'll Die Soon? What did you want your audience to experience or take away from this project? Please B Patient is a compilation of sentiments I know people around me feel with the current state of things. I wanted this project to embody these feelings in a way that will always be present, regardless of where you are or when you're observing them. The main takeaway I'd like the audience to take is that although these sentiments were present, they can be used in a cathartic and productive manner rather than dwelling on them. Seeing people dwell all the time on the negative with no real solutions to their problems pushed me over the edge to do this project, so I wanted to give an antithesis to this attitude through this project people can observe. That being said, they should not take everything I say literally and recognize that the sentiments were authentic at the time this project was in fruition. Still, they don't reflect who I am as a person present because my feelings may change over time. Instagram Twitter

Find the single on all digital streaming platforms and the music video on YouTube. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Rich Wyman & Lisa Needham. What led your duo to create a vibrant and soulful tune like "Memories Of You?" What inspired the two of you? LISA: When you've been together long, you’re bound to go through many ups and downs. Rich has had a successful solo career for many years and was often on tour in Europe while we were raising a family. There were many stressful, lonely nights and what kept us connected, even though we were sometimes thousands of miles apart, were the memories of the love we felt for each other and all the beautiful times we've had together. RICH: Lisa had some lyrics that she had written called “Memories of You” and asked me to put them to music. It’s not typically the way I write. I usually write the music first and then the lyrics. When we wrote “Memories of You,” Lisa gave me lyrics, and then I wrote the music. It’s different, but it’s pushed me in directions I might not usually go. What message do you want listeners to know? LISA & RICH: Writing together as a couple is new to us. We’ve only been doing it for about five years and discovered that we’re a pretty good co-writing team. We rarely go about the writing process with the idea of what message we want our listeners to get, but when you hear the same feedback repeatedly from one of our songs, you begin to see on a deeper level what the song is really about. People continue to tell us that they can feel our love for each other when they watch the video. That’s amazing to us, and we love hearing that. We didn’t set out to do that, but we’re pleased with the outcome. What was your vision for the "Memories Of You" music video? LISA: I created the graphics for the Memories Of You album artwork and all the merchandise with a 1950 Chevy Belair as the focus. My thought was to have something from the past become the theme, and when I found the photo with that classic aqua-green color, I just went with it. We discussed using that car in the video, but I’ll let Rich tell you about that. RICH: We met with the video director and threw out a bunch of ideas, but when Lisa mentioned that she was using a 50’s car theme in all the social media posts and merchandise, our director asked to see the artwork and got very excited. We talked about how amazing it would be if we could get the exact same car and even better if we could get a similar one but with a convertible; we could use drone shots to get us inside the vehicle. So, we searched, and even though we didn’t find the exact care, we found something better. A 1962 silver-blue Lincoln Continental convertible that a friend of ours owned said he’d be honored if we used it in the video. I’m the only other person he’s ever let drive the car. It was like a dream to drive it. What inspired the lush scenes of cruising down the open road through the Utah valleys? RICH & LISA: Originally, we wanted to shoot it out in the desert, so it had a Thelma and Louise look to it, but the car wouldn’t make it out to the desert. So, we got creative with locations in the area around where we lived which wasn’t too hard to do living in one of the most beautiful states in the country. We found a few open spots where we could use the drone because shooting us from above in the convertible was a must and what the director called “the money shot”. We had to shoot early in the morning while it was cool outside because the car tended to overheat. Surprisingly, because of this, we got some beautiful sunrise shots which created stunning lights and colors for the director to work with. Your duo seems to have quite the artistic chemistry in your "Memories Of You" music video. What was your experience shooting the video and creating those fun-loving scenes? RICH: It was easy because we have such a natural connection. Our director would just put us in the location and tell us to be ourselves. Plus, we were blasting “Memories Of You” out of a boom box, grooving to the song as we shot the video. When we shot the murals in the tunnel, we picked out several that we liked and then just danced and sang away, mistakes and all, as the director kept the film rolling. It was a blast. LISA: It was funny in the tunnel because people kept walking through the shots and would stop to watch, so we also had a bit of an audience at times. My favorite part was standing up in the Lincoln with my hair blowing in the wind and waving my arms like Audrey Hepburn. How can you not have fun with a car like that? It’s such a great prop. We also did a short photo shoot with me lying across the back of the car. I pretty much used the car in every possible way that I could. I took full advantage of it. How does "Memories Of You" help listeners better know your duo? Would you say this is one of the most autobiographical songs you've written? LISA: I guess you could say it’s is a pretty accurate account of how we are with each other. Especially the living room shots where we invite our listeners into our home. It might look like we’re performing, but this is how we rehearse when no one’s around. Something happens to us when we sing together. Something we’ve both noticed. It’s as if it generates more love between us. It’s so freeing. So, these living room shots were pretty authentic, except, of course, for my makeup and hair. I am usually rehearsing in my “comfy” clothes. RICH: The “Memories of You” video depicts us doing more of our day-to-day life, driving a car, having a picnic, and goofing around. And yes, the living room shots show a more intimate portrait of our lives. Many of our songs are autobiographical and inspired by real-life events and emotions, so this is an excellent way for our listeners to get to know us more personally. Instagram Facebook
- Interview: Chatting With Hollywood-Based Producer & Songwriter Chris Doss
Welcome to BuzzMusic, Chris Doss. You've been making your mark on the modern music scene for over a decade. What's kept you inspired to continue creating and collaborating all these years? Thanks for having me. Honestly, music is the air I breathe. Outside of family, there’s nothing I love more in life. Makes it pretty easy to stay in it for the long haul. Working with amazing new artists and talented friends doesn’t tend to get old. Considering you're primarily self-taught, where and how did you find the information to make your music career a reality? How did you teach yourself such a complex craft? Lots of trial and error!! I had been in bands before I started producing, and I’d always pay attention to the producers and engineers we’d work with. Once I got into the more intricate production areas, forums and YouTube videos were pretty clutches. Later on, I had a mentor who would (brutally honestly) tell me where I needed to improve, which was huge for growth as well. Do you have a preferred genre when creating music? Or do you feel comfortable making and producing sounds across the genre spectrum? I do a pretty wide variety, but I’d have to say pop. There’s an elegance to it that I’m taken with. The fact that it can be anything you want it to be. I’m also still true to my roots and love to take on rock projects and take any chance I get to add some guitars to any and all production. Hip-hop is also fun for me, but more of a guilty pleasure. Do you have any words of advice for other producers, songwriters, and multi-instrumentalists looking to reach a similar status? What is your recipe for success? Honestly, I’m still a work in progress myself. I’d say for sure not to chase trends. Sure, learn how they’re done and expand your arsenal, but just do you. Whatever you feel you make best and what makes you happy. I’ve wasted many years chasing trends, and I’d love for other producers and writers not to experience the same pitfalls. Instagram
- Chris Koehn Provides A Cinematic Listening Experience On, "Melancholia"
Singer and songwriter Chris Koehn released his latest single, “Melancholia,” to remind us nothing is permanent, so live in the present. Chris Koehn is a songwriter, singer, and producer who studied architecture and gave his life to music when his brother died. Chris currently runs his own architectural design firm. He found in music a way to confront the darkest moments and maybe create beauty from them. His mission is to remind listeners that life is beautiful but not constant or infinite. Thus you must seize the day. Co-produced by Jerry Quintana and inspired by Lars Von Trier’s movie with the same name, “Melancholia,” is Chris Koehn’s most cinematic work as it can evoke memories in its listeners. And it is worth highlighting his successful collaboration with Ximena Sariñana, who lends her vocals to accent the song's dreamy atmosphere. Getting into “Melancholia” starts with fast-paced drums that contrast with the fantasy-like instrumentals and the soft tone of Chris' vocals, creating a euphoric but emotional ambiance. Ximena’s voice is sweet and warming, perfect for reaffirming the chilling mood and ethereal ambiance of “Melancholia.” These elements make “Melancholia” seem to come from an oniric world of tranquility where memories live and time goes slower. Maybe that is Chris' way of saying life is about creating memories that remain after we’re gone. Thus, from the moment he sings, "when I’m gone, I don’t want to be forgotten," at the beginning, shivers run down your spine. Beautiful things are more valuable when they have an end. Listen to “Melancholia” to remind yourself of the beauty of life. And don’t forget to watch the music video. Welcome to BuzzMusic, Chris Koehn, and congratulations on your latest release, "Melancholia." How would you describe the process of writing "Melancholia?" It was an introspective process during the pandemic lockdown. While rewatching Lars Von Trier's Melancholia and listening to it a lot to Gorillaz, a song idea came out. “It's Only life, every day we die” lyrics reflect what we want to leave behind on others after we pass away. How did you choose Ximena Sariñana to collaborate with you in “Melancholia?” She’s a very talented artist and friend. Has a fantastic voice. I always thought her voice would sound nice on a duo with my vocals, and this was the perfect song. So while working on Melancholia production, I asked her if she’d be interested. When we recorded her vocals at the Chapel studio with the harmonics she proposed, it was like magic happened, and the song got this beautiful new vibe. What do you expect people to feel when listening to “Melancholia?” To have a cathartic moment. Reflect on what you want to leave behind on others after you pass away. To dance joyfully, to celebrate life by honoring death. It’s curious, I started working on the song lyrics in 2020, and my father passed away four months ago as if I was writing this song message that would help us in the future. So I hope it helps other people too. What message do you want to transmit in the “Melancholia” music video? On one hand, it’s to get people to dance, to celebrate death. On the other, it’s to share the magic moment between our collaboration. Vertov the Noise, the video director, had this amazing idea when a song gets to the upbeat part, the closeness of our collaboration slows down, so you get to experience the sound of vocals and our connection visually. So I could say to reflect on the duality of life. Every day we die, and the more we acknowledge and celebrate this, the more contentment in our life we´ll get. What's next for you? Melancholia is the 2nd single off my upcoming EP. So new music & collaborations will drop beginning next year for this EP, with some gigs in LA & Mexico. Currently, I’m composing & recording new material for my next album. Instagram Facebook
- Dive Into Cory Singer’s “Chance Of A Lifetime (The Truth)”
The emotional intensity of this slow ballad will have listeners fighting back tears. Cory Singer has an astonishing vocal capacity, ‘’Chance Of A Lifetime (The Truth)’’ is but an example of his prowess. The song "Chance Of A Lifetime (The Truth)" depicts a painful conclusion and a lost chance at real love in its lyrics. Along with the instrumental piece that Singer himself created, it makes use of strong analogies to convey the suffering Singer is experiencing. For the well-known singer-songwriter, TikTok star, and supporter of autism acceptance, what was once a passionate confession of love has evolved into one of strength. Cory Singer, born in New Jersey, is a natural and developing talent who has performed in theater and has been dedicated to music and spreading awareness for some time. The Truth and The Proposal, written by Cory Singer for "Chance of a Lifetime," present a wonderfully lovely tale of love gone right. Both songs share the same instrumentation, yet the lyrics drastically alter how you feel when you listen. In addition to being a song about lost love, "Chance of a Lifetime (The Truth)" offers fans a chance to connect with Singer at his most sensitive and introspective point. The gentle, lyrical piano is a beautiful accompaniment to Singer's powerful voice. The quiet piano and delicate string section create a meditative, cinematic atmosphere that allows for a unique listening experience. With "Chance Of A Lifetime," embark on an emotional journey. What were your main motives for writing “Chance Of A Lifetime (The Truth)?” I wrote this song from a very personal place, relationships I've been in, as well as relationships I've seen. I wanted to describe misguided love and the love that one could have had but missed out on. Who did you write “Chance Of A Lifetime (The Truth)” for? I based it on a couple that I knew. The woman was way too good for the man in the relationship. I thought that I would have been so much better for her and so I wrote a song about it. It took less than a half hour from start to finish, so it was a very organic process. What's the message you'd like people to take away from this song? Be careful not to settle for second best when the best is out there. The best, however, will only be there for so long. Taking chances and knowing the value of a relationship is key to not missing out on something incredible. What do you think is your “Chance Of A Lifetime”? I don’t know. I would hope it’s my career, and sometimes I have "pinch me" moments where it feels like I've reached the summit. There have been so many amazing moments by now that they just continue to raise the bar, so I can't predict what that official moment will be. What's next for you? More music for the world to enjoy! We also have some music videos we're working on that really introduce a new era for me. Instagram Facebook

Now, LIBERATI is thrilled to celebrate the new release of his dreamy and tender synthpop single entitled "Fever." The new track is the first single from his forthcoming sophomore album, following the successful 2021 debut record, Endless Summer. Diving deeper into "Fever," we're met with shimmering synthpop keys alongside crisp drums and chiming effects that take us into an ethereal pop-inspired world. LIBERATI's raspy and melodic vocals are incredibly charming, and the deeply passionate lyrics of his heart's many desires are all the more compelling. The song offers this lush and groovy soundscape that perfectly represents the otherwordly sensations of new love. Before we know it, LIBERATI blesses us with a savory and uplifting saxophone solo on the hook, taking us back to prime-time 80s synthpop alongside the glittery electric guitars. The song's outro feels like sailing into the sunset, holding hands with someone special. It's a refreshing and ear-pleasing experience crafted perfectly from start to finish. When you're ready to drift off into daydreams about you, know who hit play on LIBERATI's liberating new single, "Fever," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, LIBERATI. We can't get enough of the refreshing and passionate vibe within your recent single, "Fever." What inspired you to create a song about your sweltering passion for someone special? A dear lifelong friend in music, Anthony Rankin, known as producer-artist ANTi, had come to me with a few different song starters he was working on at the time. When I heard the pads and main keyboard part of what became “Fever,” I was instantly inspired. The vibe was sultry, sexy, and sweaty, or at least those were the first words that came to mind. So, I immediately thought of a club scene with two people making eyes, and the rush of seeing someone for the first time who you have such an intense attraction towards can barely contain. I then went off on my own to add a bunch of instruments and tweak the arrangement. When I sent it back to Anthony for feedback, I know it was something special by his initial excitement toward the first demo. Regarding the actual lyrical content, I was searching for a single word to convey the passion and heat of this couple’s magnetic pull. Ironically, while I was writing the lyrics, my sweet wife was battling COVID-19 at the time and felt warm. When I touched her forehead to check if she had a fever, the light bulb went off, and I started singing the chorus instantly. She thinks this is a much funnier story now, but at the time, I’m pretty sure I came off like an insensitive jerk or, perhaps at best, an opportunist. What was your favorite part about creating such a lush and personal track like "Fever?" What did you take away from experience? I love that you used lush and personal. “Fever” was a fun experiment of how to make something feel sexy yet heartfelt. The song's bones were solid and left a lot of space for little atmospheric motifs and textures. Having Anthony involved and then asking another dear friend and mentor in music, Emmy-award-winning producer and multi-instrumentalist Jamie Peck, to play the sax solo was special to me and reinforced the idea that collaboration is key. I often love to write, perform, produce, mix and sometimes even master my songs, which can sometimes be a great and cathartic thing, but nothing beats creating with your friends. So, I’d say I took away two main themes from creating “Fever” - don’t overdo it, add too much, and collaborate as much as possible. What did you hope to make listeners feel when hearing "Fever?" What was your goal in terms of the listener's experience? For “Fever” specifically, I wanted people to feel “in the pocket” and just groove or dance. If a song feels good, you’re instantly transported into the story of it because you’re not distracted. You’re vulnerable because you trust where it’s going. After all, it feels so good. So, I hope that someone is in that groove so much that they envision themselves in this club, seeing that special person for the first time, ecstatic about the possibilities of where things could go. Why did you choose to release "Fever" as the lead single from your upcoming sophomore album? How does this song represent what's to come? I think mostly because it felt like a fresh departure from my last record, 'Endless Summer,' and could give me a taste of where I’m headed as an artist. “Fever” also instantly resonated with me so strongly that I wanted to share it with the world ASAP. Some great pop elements in the production are so current, but then you hear instruments like fretless bass and soprano sax that invoke such nostalgia for classic 80s and 90s soundtracks. I love that blend and would expect a bit more of that vibe on this new album. I toyed with that blend on Endless Summer, but now I’m pushing a bit more extreme in both directions for album 2. What's next for you? A bunch of new music in 2023, namely my new album, will be released in installments throughout the year. I also have some tour plans in the works that I’ll hopefully be able to announce soon. In parallel to my LIBERATI songs, I am also continually writing and collaborating with The Song House, a songwriters collective based in Nashville. This past year I co-wrote their most viral hit, “Parachute” (10m Tik Tok views, ~6m streams). So, be on the lookout for new material through The Song House (@thesonghouseco)! Instagram Facebook

Feast your ears on the expressive emotion he showcases in his recent single, "One More Night," now available on all digital streaming platforms. Welcome to BuzzMusic, David Houle. We truly admire the intimacy and vulnerability you've showcased in your recent single, "One More Night." What experiences with relationships inspired this emotional ballad? There have been nights when I’ve stayed up too late and overthought past relationships. What if I did this differently? Do they still think of me? Do I miss them, or am I just lonely? Even though time has passed and things have changed, the memories and fairytales still linger. Those reflections inspired this ballad. What was the most rewarding part about opening up and creating a vulnerable song like "One More Night?" The most rewarding part was the aftermath. I had the privilege to work with two incredible artists, Dani Maloney and Mike Wynn. Together we created such a unique and raw visual. To date, this is the proudest I've been about any project I've done. Do you usually write extremely personal and grippingly emotional songs like "One More Night?" Is this intimate sound something you're familiar with? I usually write when I am feeling down or sad. It's such a great emotional outlet for me. I'm currently attempting to work on some more upbeat songs, but my lyrics usually come to me organically. What do you hope listeners take away from your profoundly emotional single, "One More Night?" What impact do you want to leave on listeners? There is power in allowing ourselves to gently and safely visit our most complex emotions. We sometimes make decisions influenced by our current situation, and sometimes what we want and have are two different things. I hope listeners realize we can still be strong, even when feeling defeated. What's next for you? I’m currently balancing performing in the award-winning Las Vegas show "Extravaganza" and working on my next single. It’ll be my first-ever dance track. Thank you for your time, and I hope everyone enjoys my latest single, "One More Night." Instagram Artist Website
- Sole Oceanna Looks For Answers On Latest Release, "Was It Me?"
With the powerful instrumentals of punk, emotional lyrics, and a sweet voice, Sole Oceanna laments a failed romance in “Was It Me?” It was clear since Sole Oceanna was a child that music was meant to be her northern star. Now she is 15 years old, and her talent blossoms like the most magnificent flower in the garden as she explores human emotions through songwriting. While listening to her relatable lyrics, I thought her music is as intense as the feelings it produced. “Was it Me?” has an ambiance of constant thinking with gloomy guitar chords, like placing the question repeatedly. It expresses the uncertainty produced by a failed love and the disappointment of giving it to someone who eventually hurt you. When there is no going back in a broken relationship, you expect both persons to ask, “Was it Me?” Hitting the play button on “Was It Me?”, you will hear an enchanting guitar accompanied by fast-paced hi-hats that welcome the melodic voice of Sole Oceanna. As she sings, the vocal effects give energy to her words and catch the listener's attention. The song's chorus takes the hype to its peak and explodes in charge of euphoria, so prepare your throat to sing along. It is amazing how “Was It Me?” takes the basic vibes of punk and adds digital elements to make it a richer experience and maximize the transmission of emotions. Defensively Sole Oceanna takes out the pain and anger but also demonstrates you can overcome hard times. If you have been there, in the pain of lost love, “Was It Me?” can be cathartic, and you should listen to it. Love can be chaotic, but in music, you find peace. Welcome back to BuzzMusic Sole Oceanna, and congratulations on your latest release, "Was It Me?" What was the experience that took you to write “Was It Me?” The experience that inspired the song “Was it Me” was a breakup I’d recently had with my first love. I was asking myself the question, “ Was it me? What did I say? What did I do?” To come to the realization that it “wasn’t me….it was you (him)”. What are your musical references when giving the music to the lyrics of “Was It Me?” My musical references were Brittney Spears and Olivia Rodrigo for this pop-punk song. How was the making process of “Was It Me?” for you? The making process was super fun. A group of people in the studio collaborated to write the song. I’d never done pop-punk before. My manager then wanted me to make a song in that genre. The group of us started to talk about my feelings and breakup and the questions I was asking myself about it all, and we came up with the song pretty quickly. It just flowed. I went home that night and learned and rehearsed it over and over to get the feel of it. Then the next day, I went into the booth and recorded. I had to get mad, feeling my anger about the breakup, and got up into the mic, pretending it was my Ex’s face and used that energy to sing the song. What message do you expect people to get from “Was It Me?" The message I hope people get from “Was it me” is it's not always your fault. Don’t blame yourself for everything that goes wrong. Have confidence that the other person always has their part in the situation. What's next for you? My plan for the near future is that I’m planning to release another song in a few months. I’d love to get signed to a major record label and go on tour. Instagram Facebook
