  • Lindsay Kaye Presents Her 2019 Track "Tremors"

Multi-dimensional pop artist Lindsay Kaye is an integrator. She combines sounds that once collectively blended, produce a staple sound. As a singer/songwriter, Lindsay strives to curate smooth, cream and insanely dreamy soundings to stimulate her listeners' senses. Her 2019 saw one big release of her track titled "Tremors". Artistically, Lindsay Kaye worked hard for the mixture of the track, as well as boosting her artistic profile over 2019. If her 2020 is anything like the track she was able to create in 2019, she'll be off to a great start! Lindsay Kaye uses the techno music world to her advantage in her tracklist of 2019. Tracks that she's come out with, like "Tremors", features potent electronic elements with a pop-style approach. Lindsay Kaye makes the atmosphere of this track glamorous and classy. The integrated synths provide that feeling of enchantment and captivation you get from listening to "Tremors", but her vocal flow is what gives that lax feel to the track. "Tremors" captures the darkness of failure, and it does this in a natural way. The song is smooth and doesn't appear fabricated in any nonsense way. "Tremors" sets the tone for the ultimate soundings of Lindsay Kaye and what she's capable of bringing to the table. Her first new release can be expected to come out in late January 2020, so we're keeping our eyes peeled for any updates! As of now, we're listening to her July release "Tremors". Discover the soundings of Lindsay Kaye here. Hey Lindsay! Getting right into the music, "Tremors" was released in July of this year! Ever since it's release, how has the feedback been on the track? I was really excited about the release of “Tremors” ever since its inception. My hope for this song was to act as a vehicle to reach a more worldwide and versatile audience. I think we accomplished what we set out to do when “Tremors” was streamed in 73 countries in 2019. How do you feel you've grown the most artistically this year? Although 2019 saw the one release of "Tremors", how do you feel that track differed from previous ones? I’ve grown as a singer-songwriter by developing my skills through voice lessons and expanding my vocal range. With the success of “Ashes & Bones” and “Tremors” I have been blessed with the opportunity to work and collaborate with very talented artists like Nondoh, as well as, high-level music producer Alex Houton with AHM Media and 6x Grammy-winning master mixer Brian Vibberts. “Tremors” has differed from my other tracks by showing how I have grown and developed as a strong singer and song-writer. I’ve always been open-minded when it comes to my music. My transition from “Ashes & Bones” to “Tremors” and their genres is a foundational representation of who I am as an artist in producing music my fans and I will enjoy and be proud of. We heard that you've been collaborating on a track with artist Nondoh! How has the collaboration been going so far? When is the track set to go live?! Working with another artist for the first time can possess its own challenges. Nondoh is such a talented artist and it was a pleasure working with him. Regarding our new song, “I Wanna Know You” I believe we’ve created a song people will connect with. The collaboration was a rewarding and beneficial experience.  The track is set to go live on January 17, 2020. You have your own 2020 track coming out pretty soon into the New Year! Are you able to give our readers any hints on what the track will be about? Without going into detail, I can tell you it’s about dreams and how they mirror your emotions and reality. Can you explain how you hope to grow as an artist during 2020? I hope to perform live with Nondoh and also perform my new single live on stage in 2020. It was a great experience to talk through with you on your 2019 from a music standpoint. Besides the releases in early 2020, where do you see your sound taking off from here? 6.  I hope to continue my reach and connection into a versatile, worldwide audience. I hope my pop-electric sound will continue to grow and develop as I continue to grow and develop as a singer/songwriter. With the combination of my passion and persistent efforts, I will release an album by the end of 2021. instagram.com/lindsayykaye facebook.com/lindsaykayeofficial #BuzzMusic

  • A Look at Refined Rap Artist Hasani Yung

Hip/Hop rapper Hasani Yung is our spotlight artist of the day, and mainly due to the potential he holds artistically. Over the course of one year, we saw Hasani develop his music into a more smooth and cultivated sounding. It's safe to say that Hasani Yung is attempting to stir some talk within the predominant rap scene in music today. His sound is extremely raw, in the sense that it's completely stripped back and giving an unplugged sound, without it being unplugged. Hasani Yung strategically uses repetition to his advantage throughout his tracks, to keep the listener hooked into the familiar beat and styling. We saw Hasani Yung release a few tracks during 2019, where each track consisted of that same familiar-sounding we mentioned earlier. It's quite obvious from the start of listening to Hasani Yung that he's still playing around with the vocal delivery to see what sticks. In tracks like "Important", the sound differs from what we've heard previously by Hasani. 2019 was the year Hasani Yung grew artistically and developed his sound around such growth. "Important" offers that elevated sounding with its collection of House/Rap production, and Hasani's strong vocal presence during the entirety of the track. When we listen to other tracks by Hasani, such as "TOO FINE", we see a clear pattern of his 2019 releases: catchy and well-defined. Hasani also doesn't just create meaningless rap tracks. Listening in on the underlying messages of tracks like "Important", you'll come to understand that Hasani has much more to offer from an artist standpoint. Considering how much Hasani Yung's sound grew this year, we're extremely interested to see how he continues that growth into 2020! Listen to Hasani Yung's music here. Hey Hasani Yung! It's awesome to have you here on BuzzMusic to talk about your artistry throughout 2019. Thanks for taking the time! How do you think 2019 has treated you and your music? Blessed to be back. Appreciate y'all.  2019 has treated me very good, gained lots of new fans around the world that I wouldn't even think of they are listening to my music. Definitely thankful for that. Let's talk about some of your releases in 2019. What release would you say was the most polished and refined, compared to other releases you came out within 2019? I would say the ' TOO FINE ' release really created a lot of waves for me this year. It was actually a song that I wasn't even thinking about releasing it at that time....but I ended up doing it anyway and people really just vibe with the song heavy and just the fact that People doing are videos enjoying the song, messaging me to tell how dope the song is from everywhere in the world especially people that don't even speak English is dope to me and that right there is priceless. "Important" was one of our favorite tracks we saw from you this year. Can you share more on the meaning of this track to you, and how you felt it would resonate with listeners? The meaning of the track "Import" is your typical everyday rich life that we all need....at least from my point of view. It resonates with the listeners because It's Just A real Song but yet a fun song...it makes the listeners visualize the luxury of the cliche Important things in life which is Money, cars..etc. not what we need but what we want....you feel me. As a predominant Hip Hop/Rap artist, how do you find yourself keeping up with the constantly changing sound in the industry? Adapt is the keyword for me as an artist in the industry...Just adapting to new sounds...seeing what works and what doesn't, Not changing who you are as an artist but yet still in tune and aware with what's going on around you...and just really learning with all different types of sounds you know...I'm just a sponge...I soak it all up and then I use it to my advantage. What's been the biggest lesson learned throughout 2019 for you, both artistically and personally? The biggest lesson I learned from 2019 is I gotta be ON IT and on top of things. Being consistent with creating and releasing.. and To create this vision and a have mindset ready for anything and everything....I stay ready so I ain't gotta get ready artistically and personally.  Have a tunnel vision that nobody can messed up or distract me and that I have to be 110% percent focus on my goal. Thanks again Hasani Yung for speaking with us about your 2019! Now that 2020 is fast approaching, do you have any plans for how you're going to develop your artistry further? I Thank Yall - and yes I do. More singles. More Videos. More Features With different artists from different countries. Working on my EP and LP. I will definitely Top my 2019 with 2020. 2020 will be also a year to remember guarantee. Dat WAY TOP. Love. instagram.com/hasani_yung #BuzzMusic

  • TANTRiX Showcases Their Unified Sound in Their Recent Releases

Pop/Rock band TANTRiX hails from Toronto, Ontario. They are pushing themselves into the music scene to present their expressive and unifying sound! TANTRiX consists of members Eddie Silver and Matt Mio, and the duo combines their diverse musical backgrounds to manifest the true sounding of the band. That true alternative sounding is there, along with the imminent pop and rock characteristics you can see blended within their overall sound. 2019 saw the release of TANTRiX’s single “We Become One”, which highlighted such a good foundation of their sound. We think that “We Become One” is the perfect track to represent the sound that is TANTRiX, as it focuses on their innate artistic abilities and personas. We get a similar approach in their second release of 2019, “Lost in My Dreams”. TANTRiX’s sounding in “Lost in My Dreams” is seriously catchy! It’s the type of track we could expect to be found within our Discover Weekly on Spotify—that’s how much it resonates with our sound! As a predominant Alternative band, TANTRiX displays its alternative abilities and constructs to listeners in such a keen way. They know the ins and outs of what makes an alternative track truly a quality one that embeds their necessary components to thrive. We aren’t too worried about TANTRiX’s ability to thrive in the music scene—they’ve showcased that their sounding is pivotal at this time! Their way of shaping their music is so clearly evident in their sound, which is why he highly recommend our BuzzMusic listeners to check them out to understand from your perspective! Discover the musical stylings of TANTRiX here. Hey there, TANTRiX! Great to have you back here on BuzzMusic to talk about your 2019! Did you expect the progression that TANTRiX made in 2019 to happen?! It's been a pretty big year for you!  Thank you for having us back, it's always a pleasure working with BuzzMusic. This year was definitely a big year for us as we released our first two singles, marking the start of our musical journey as a band. Our progression this year has been slow and steady which is what we expected for as a new band just beginning to grow our audience and spread awareness of our music and talent. Congratulations on the releases of “We Become One” and “Lost in My Dreams”! How did these two 2019 releases compare in terms of the writing and recording process? Strangely the two singles we released this year are polar opposites in terms of the approach we took to writing and recording each song. "We Become One" was the first song we ever recorded as a band and the last song that we recorded together while making our debut album was "Lost In My Dreams". Sonically the two pair very well together despite being written and recorded almost a year apart from each other and in completely different locations. "We Become One" took us about one week to write and record ourselves in our home studio. "Lost In My Dreams" was written in 10 minutes flat and recorded over 2 days in a garage! Since "We Become One" was our first song that we decided to record ourselves, the process for production took us much longer because we were just starting to hone in on our original and unique sound as a band. We wrote "Lost In My Dreams" during a spontaneous jam while we were in the studio mixing what we thought would be our last song on our debut album. We instantly realized we had to add the song to our album, so we scrambled in 2 days to record it and have it mixed before the studio time we had booked ran out. One song was carefully, slowly crafted and the other song was pumped out super quick. All in all, 2019 seems to have been a successful year for TANTRiX. Is there anything that either of you would change artistically about the year? In terms of the music that we wrote during 2019, there is nothing artistically or production wise that we would've liked to change or do differently. We would have liked to play some more live shows this year and booking a tour of the United States is a major goal of ours for 2020. We’ve heard about the projected release of your 2020 album, set for January! That’s so incredibly exciting! As a 13-track album, where did the major inspirations stem from in order to curate it? Like most musicians, Eddie and i both share a passion for finding and actively listening to new bands as well as many different genres of music. We try to draw inspiration and learn from all the music we become aware of so that we can add interesting licks from unexpected genres to the classic rock foundation and pop structure of our songs essentially recycling something old and perhaps cliche into something new and refreshing. Our album offers listeners a cohesive spectrum of pop-rock music with songs ranging in inspiration from Lynyrd Skynyrd-like southern blues rock to The Clash style brit rock to a George Michael saxophone-drenched ballad, and dare i say it, even a Beiber-like Top 40 pop track! How do the two of you typically resolve creative disputes? Do you find that your vision for the sounding of TANTRiX is similar in general? We definitely see eye to eye 99% of the time in terms of our vision for how our music should sound. Writing and producing music together is quite easy for us two as we both share the same level of professional approach and a perfectionist attitude towards our music. We rarely have conflicting opinions on our artistic direction but when we do we try to talk it out and resolve our differences right away so that we don't waste time or cause any unnecessary drama between us. Being in a two-man band is relatively simple because if we disagree on our artistic direction we both can't move forward, we have no choice but to address whatever issues arise so that we can continue. In a band with more than two people, one person's opinions on artistic direction might get outweighed or outvoted by the other members and things can still progress onwards despite someone in the band disagreeing. We have had to learn how to communicate openly as well as make compromises in order to continue our journey. It was really great featuring TANTRiX here on BuzzMusic! We’re seriously anticipating the release of your 2020 album, but for now, we’ll listen to your 2019 singles and get along just well! What’re the next major steps besides the album for the band? Thank you again for featuring us! We are definitely excited to release our debut album in the new year and share it with the world. As i mentioned before, our next major step for TANTRiX is to book a tour of the United States during 2020. We want to play as many shows as well can in the coming new year as well as further develop our fan base. We've also been planning to have some really cool merchandise available for purchase at our shows and on our band website! instagram.com/tantrix_band facebook.com/TantrixTheBand #BuzzMusic

  • Broken Keys Looks Back at His Hypnotic Soundings

Remember producer Broken Keys? He's back with the release of his track "Caught Out in the Rain", one of 10 tracks off of his album "Distant Mood". The track features a serene and calming atmosphere, with a subtle integration of Broken Keys vocals. The tempo is sensual and mysterious. That club-like feel without any of the energy behind it. Without that fast-paced energy, we receive such refined elegance. "Caught Out in the Rain" blends all melodies in a complementary way, to fulfill a clean listening experience. The track features synths that will make you feel hypnotized, requiring your full and undivided attention as a listener. We're drawn in completely by the sound of Broken Keys! "Caught Out in the Rain" is the type of track you want to listen to on a night where you're winding down, and attempting to establish a calm aura. Broken Keys is good at that with his listeners, ensuring that there's a specific ambiance set with each track he releases. Each ambiance tying in with one another and establishing a surplus of experiences for each listener. It's a quality artistic ability he's able to grasp with his productional stylings. We expect that a lot of Broken Keys inspiration stems from his travels to all sorts of cities, and the time he's spent within each. Performing for over 10 years, the knowledge Broken Keys has applied to his sound has been incredibly notable and perceivable. All in all, "Distant Mood" was a successful album release that 2019 saw from Broken Keys, and we're hoping 2020 sees the same kind of energy from Broken Keys artistically! Listen to Broken Keys here! Hello, Broken Keys! We're so excited to feature your music on BuzzMusic, as many of us are fans of "Distant Mood"! The album featured such eclectic elements. The final product stimulated all kinds of senses, opening up our musical mind for sure. How did you go about the decision-making for the distinguishable production of "Distant Mood"? Thanks for the kind words! Aside from recording with Ableton, the album was created using all analog gear. I used a microKORG, a Yamaha PSR-220, a guitar and various percussion instruments. I started the first few songs with that method and decided to continue in that direction for the remainder of the process. Where did you hope your music would take off to with the release of your album "Distant Mood"? How did you hope to connect with listeners for this particular release? When I was creating the album I felt like I was curating a certain energy with this collection of songs and I was just hoping that there were people out there that would feel that same energy. "Caught Out in the Rain" was filled with so many delicate and intricate soundings. We always feel like there has to be an insane amount of methodical shaping towards the refined sound we end up hearing as listeners. Can you walk us through this process of your music? To be honest, some of my favorite songs I’ve made are the ones that came the easiest to me. “Caught Out in the Rain” “Falling Down” “Endless River” and “Distant Mood” (the title track) were the first ones I made for the album and they were all done in 2 nights, written and recorded. I would start by writing the keyboard chords, then I would add the drums, guitar, bass and vocals along with a few synth arpeggios to add what I felt was a hypnotic element that tied the songs together. As a multi-instrumentalist, do you find it easier to sense the collection of sounds and how a vision would execute before actually producing? It varies. There are definitely times when I get an idea and I can compartmentalize things in my head to come up with how certain sounds can work together, but I also really enjoy just starting with a blank canvas and creating on the spot. How do you feel that you've transcended your sound in 2019, compared to the year before? I was primarily producing instrumental music up until this year so I am really looking forward to evolving this sound and exploring more singing and live instrumentation! We love talking with you about your sound! We hope to see you back in early 2020 with new music, Broken Keys! Where is your artistry headed now--same path or divergent from what we saw in 2019? Thanks! I will definitely be following Distant Mood up with more music in that same direction but I have also been working on a few different sounding projects and collaborations as well! instagram.com/broken_keys twitter.com/BROKENKEYS facebook.com/brokenkeys216 #BuzzMusic

  • Stop. Listen. Repeat! An Overview of Alternative Rock Band Madame Psychosis

Alternative/Rock/Pop/Indie band Madame Psychosis consists of 5 pivotal members, all of which blend their artistic skills to create the very essence of their sound. As a band, they've already heard their tracks being played on major radio stations, such as 94.9 The Rock FM, which has played a large majority of Madame Psychosis' tracks. When listening to their music, it becomes so evident that their collective sound is completely new from anything we've heard before. Correction, we might have heard many of the elements in their singularity but never combined with one another. Madame Psychosis has our interests piqued and taking a closer look at their 2019, we know why our interests will remain piqued. Madame Psychosis has had a stellar 2019 year. We saw the release of their album "Survivor" this year, which offered a variety of stylings from Madame Psychosis. "Survivor" was intense and aggressive with some tracks like "Kapow", and then transitioned into more of a lax atmosphere with tracks like "White Roses". Then they construct tracks like "Don't Care" from the album, which makes us feel reflective and reminiscent. Nevertheless, the same rock n' roll vibe we appreciate ever so much maintains itself during the entire album, which is an aspect that highly impressed us. Madame Psychosis embeds a variety of genres, seeming almost effortless in its execution. We seriously missed this kind of alternative rock that Madame Psychosis provides. The band has always come out with quality tracks, but "Survivor" offers more of a refined rock taste. The band is eloquent in the most rustic and raw way possible and has undoubtedly made it on our favorites list. Their 2019 was successful with the album alone, and now we're intrigued to see what the band will construct in 2020! Listen to "Survivor" here. Hello Madame Psychosis! It's great to get you on BuzzMusic to talk about your music within the past year! Can you describe how the band feels their sound was transformed throughout 2019? Hello BuzzMusic! Great to be back, and thanks for all the support over the past year. It’s been a wild one. In terms of our sound and transformation, our sound has definitely matured over the past year and a half or so while writing and recording the songs on Survivor. It is very evident when you hear our two albums back-to-back. Most notably, we took our songwriting to the next level. We were no longer satisfied with writing songs in the same way we did for our debut album. Though we love that album, we really wanted to be more creative with structure and composition on the new album. For example, we added keys to several songs on Survivor, giving it a fuller, more melodic vibe. We also played around with more effects during production, while our singer Michelle dove a littler deeper lyrically. Lastly, we paid greater attention to details. We were vigilant about technical precision while recording and getting the perfect balance during mixing. In short, we took on more creative risks, and as a result, Survivor is much more layered and carries more depth than our previous work. I think it goes without saying that your sound is completely refreshing and rejuvenating. Madame Psychosis brings forward a type of alternative rock sounding that doesn't get heard enough in the music scene lately! Where do the passion and rigor arise from the band in order to curate intensified albums such as "Survivor”? Thank you for those kind words! We’re flattered. We believe that what you’re hearing on Survivor comes from the collective experience and passion within the band. First and foremost, we want our music to connect with listeners and fans. The best way to do this is to write and perform from a vulnerable place. This is bound to create a level of passion that can only be channeled through music – and people pick up on this while listening. Secondly, the songwriting on Survivor is based on real life experiences, which help cement an emotional connection with listeners. The whole album is based on the idea of surviving the obstacles we all face, so there’s a sense of familiarity with listeners. They can identify with what we’re saying. Lastly, each one of us carries a drive to better ourselves as songwriters and musicians. This focus on constant improvement translates into the intensified experience you hear on the album. Out of 2019, what tracks have been personal favorites of the band to both record and perform live?! Though we each have our own favourites, ‘Kapow’ is the undisputed band favourite to perform live. It’s high-energy and fun, and it features a catchy sing-a-long chorus that gets crowds moving during our shows. It’s the one song we’d tell people to listen to if we were asked ‘what’s the one song you’d want people to hear?’ ‘Don’t Care’ also cracks the list, but for completely opposite reasons than ‘Kapow’. It’s a melodic track that builds musically and emotionally over the course of four and a half minutes. It seamlessly transforms from a softer piano melody to a big, bold chorus featuring an epic guitar outro. There’s a vulnerable undertone that is sustained throughout. Easily our most powerful song on Survivor. ‘Not Supposed To Be Here’ also sticks out as a favourite largely because it is much different in terms of structure than other songs on Survivor. The song was also first introduced by our guitar player Rene. This brought a new and different perspective to the table when it comes to songwriting and composition. Oh, it’s also a super fun song to play live! Lastly, ‘It’s So Easy’, primarily because of the recording process. It’s the first time we allowed ourselves to jam freely without any constraints or pre-determined outcomes. We didn’t have an ending for the song so we just decided to do what felt right and see what comes of it. The result is an extended outro that we absolutely love. It’s no coincidence why it’s the last track on the album. We heard you've been offered the chance to perform on Global's The Morning Show! That's incredible! Congrats! How does it feel to be offered chances of performing for large audiences such as The Morning Show?! Thanks! It’s an amazing feeling, to say the least. Opportunities like The Morning Show are huge for us because it validates that we’re on the right track. It shows us that what we're doing really resonates with people, and as a result helps us stay confident and motivated. It’s an adrenaline rush. As far as audiences go, it’s also a great opportunity to build our fan base and be heard nationally by people who wouldn’t have otherwise heard of us. We hope that the three and a half minutes or so we get with them – assuming they watch the full performance – is enough to make them stick! It was an honour to perform twice on The Morning Show and of course on Morning Live. Big thanks to Global and to CHCH respectively for those opportunities! After the release of "Survivor", the band released another 3 tracks! The drive of Madame Psychosis is admirable. Is there a special secret on how the band constantly keep up with creating, recording, and performing? You guys are too flattering. Thank you, we appreciate that. To put it simply, we’re a very tight-knit family. Our bond continues to grow the more we do this. We love what we do and we love working with each other. Writing and performing music together comes naturally to us thanks to our chemistry, which we recognize is not easy to come across and we certainly don’t take it for granted. Each of us plays such a vital role, not just on the creative end but also in terms of all the behind-the-scenes work that goes into an indie band. It also helps having incredibly supportive and understanding family and friends, and that’s really what fuels our drive. It was a real treat featuring Madame Psychosis' releases within 2019! What an incredible year for the band, and we're genuinely anticipating any new music within 2020! For now, what is Madame Psychosis planning on attacking next?! Thank you once again for featuring us! Next up on our ‘to do’ list is playing as many shows as possible in support of Survivor. This includes booking shows outside of Toronto and of course more festivals. We actually have a show at Lee’s Palace on January 4th to kick-start the New Year. This venue is amazing. We’re honoured to get the chance to perform on that stage. We’re also ramping up our radio promotion and will be looking at pluggers to help us with this right out of the gate in 2020. As always, new music will be a huge focus next year. We’ve already begun writing new material and just performed a new song at our most recent gig. We’ve talked about an extended version of Survivor, which would include a handful of new songs, an EP, or just releasing these new songs as singles throughout the year to bridge the gap between Survivor and our next project. Whatever we decide, you can definitely expect to hear new music from us. We’re excited about what comes next! For now, Happy New Year to everyone! facebook.com/madamepsychosisband instagram.com/madamepsychosisband #BuzzMusic

  • Band Highlight: Maso·K·ist Was on Fire During 2019

Maso·K·ist is back again, and this time, to look over their 2019 year! One single that this year heard from Maso·K·ist was "Sex Sells". Maso·K·ist captures the essence of what we know punk/rock to be: intense and grungy. The sound is so incredibly familiar to soundings we've heard in the early 2000's era. The only element that is contrasting to that period is the more modern refinement of their production, which sees an integration of explorative synths. The same type of refinement is present in another 2019 release: "Desert Whales". However, this track features components that are more drawn-out and rock-concentrated. Once we come across tracks like "Ignorance Is Piss" we're exposed to that raw vocal execution that has an insanely expressive style. This is the kind of track that hosts heavy punk and metal factors. It introduces itself with a collection of drums and guitar riffs, which then quickly transforms into the vocal offerings from the band's lead singer. Every aspect of the song was enriched with bold and raging passion. Once we end the near of the track, we're brought into a more enhanced and escalated feel. Overall, whenever we hear the stylings of Maso·K·ist, we know they remain consistent with their delivery, and yet, blossom their sound with every release. They allure listeners in with their dark sound and keep that attention maintained with their unique persona. We know for the music to come, Maso·K·ist will release tracks that display their sound as encapsulating phantasm elements. Listen to Maso·K·ist here. Hey again, Maso·K·ist! It's awesome that we have a chance to catch up again so soon! All in all, the group has had a successful year with consistently releasing expressive music. How do you feel about your artistic performance during the entirety of 2019? Masokist eagle: “All in all I’d say it’s been a very good year for us. I never actually thought I’d ever have a record see the light of day so it was a very serendipitous experience for everyone involved, and I really appreciate the hard work everyone put into making this happen. Can you describe to our readers what type of sound you were aiming to reach during 2019? Do you all find that Maso·K·ist has piqued its potential with what was released in 2019? M.e.: “ I was definitely going for a sound that was very nostalgic of the 90’s, a sound that’s familiar but not forgotten… I was really trying to create music that in my adolescence I’d turn to when there was nowhere else for me to go. In a way, my ‘Sex Sells’ ep is me looking at myself and the evolution I’m gone through as a person from being a young child to an adult and acknowledging the ‘bad parts’ of me that developed from the culture and society I was born into. These songs are me thinking for myself for the first time and becoming better and more dangerous from it…. and there’s more danger to come.” "Ignorance Is Piss" has such vigor and ferocity, both in terms of vocals and instrumentals. Does this energy come naturally to the band, or is there a sort of "stage-presence" factor involved? M.e: “Thank you for saying that, thank you so much. Aggression is my profession so I’d say yes it comes naturally.” What's the favorite track of each member that Maso·K·ist has collectively released during 2019? “It’s been a while since I’ve talked to the boys in the band about the tracks on our record, but I really enjoy ‘Pro-Create Hate’ because the chorus is fun to sing live. I recall my drummer Jordan Lysenko thoroughly enjoyed performing ‘Ignorance Is Piss. And of course everyone loves ‘Desert Whales’ except for me. Being from Vancouver Island, do you find that the music scene there encourages the directionality of the band and your overall sound? M.e: “Honestly, I live on the part of the island where if you want to experience music you go to the f*cking strip club, you go the strip club and you watch perverts watch people get naked… it’s really lame and perhaps I’ll be a stripper one day. Considering the sexual drive behind a lot of our lyrics I’d say yeah… the music scene here does encourage our directionality and overall sound then.” Thanks, Maso·K·ist for taking the time to speak with us again! • Janockeil Delivers Smooth and Soft Soundings With His 2019 Releases

Dynamic and surreal Texas artist Janockeil showcases his soft and intricate soundings multiple times throughout 2019. If Janockeil has to categorize his sounding, he would express a chilled R&B/Pop integration, which happens to be integrated into more of an electronic/dance sound. Artistically, Janockeil feels that he has a voice to be heard through music— a voice that is influenced by life situations and both real struggle and success. Janockeil released his 4-track EP “After” this year, which the first track off the EP, titled “Kisses”, consisted of that characteristic electronic integration, but slightly warped to create that Deep House styling. The catchy dance rhythm got us moving along in some type of way. Janockeil has strategized regarding his overall execution and flow—he’s very consistent with ensuring an addictive beat is integrated within his music. Next on the album, we arrive at “Do It”. This track is a little more trill than “Kisses” and showcases a more lax side of Janockeil’s vocal expressions. We appreciate the contrast of sound Janockeil can sustain, it’s really what makes him a seasoned artist. The contrast continues with “Forever After”, because with this track, we’re getting those warm and soulful vocals. The sound of Janockeil throughout this song makes our hearts melt. We’re entranced in his entire sounding all of the 2 minutes and 51 seconds we have with him in “Forever After”, which makes our gradual ending of the album that much more bittersweet. Alas, we arrive at “Wish I Was You”. The track differs from the others in the way that it features more serene and tranquil vocals from Janockeil. It’s a refreshing sounding, and the range of Janockeil’s sound takes a turn with this track! As an overview, Janockeil’s 2019 saw the release of a great EP, encompassing a variety of sounds and feelings. We’re seriously hoping for more dynamic soundings from Janockeil in 2020! Listen to Janockeil here. Hi Janockeil! Welcome to the BuzzMusic community. What an exciting year for you with the release of “After”! How do you feel this EP differed from the stylings of your first one? Hello and thank you so much for welcoming me! Yes, it has been quite a year! "After" was such a huge step for me creatively, lyrically, and musically. There was a huge gap between this one and the first one, simply because I needed to take the time to live life, but most importantly, to figure myself out as an artist and how I wanted to present myself to the world. The first one really didn't have a theme. It was just songs put together and the execution of it wasn't really well thought out as I would have liked. I was just starting out as a new artist with my very first project, so it was definitely a learning experience. With "After", there's a little more meat on the bones. It's more well rounded and everything just flows seamlessly from one song to the next. I'm sharing my life and being more personal and little more confident vocally this time around. You have such a diverse range of influences within your artistry. Can you share with our readers some of those exact influences that have truly shaped your sound today? Yes, I am influenced by all types of music. I started singing in church growing up, so Gospel music is where it all started for me. From there, I was exposed to a wide range of music including R&B, Pop, Soft Rock, Adult Contemporary, Country, Hip Hop, I mean it goes on and on. My earliest memories were Whitney Houston and Journey being constant plays in my house. If I have to choose, I would say that I'm mostly influenced by Pop and 90's R&B music, simply because of the melodies, being that they are catchy and they stay in your head forever and ever, so that's always my goal whenever I'm writing. I just love music and I write whatever the music moves me to write. “Definitely” was released this past November! Congratulations on that release! How did the curating/recording process feel for this track compared to your EP in May? Thank you so much! I was really excited about this song, because it was so easy and free flowing to write. Even when it came down to recording, it was such an easy going process, and I'm generally always so stressed out in the studio cause I'm a perfectionist. With "After", I remember striving to get every single aspect of that project right vocally and lyrically. But with "Definitely" I wasn't really striving for anything in particular because I don't think I was going to do anything with it. I figured in my own time, I'll finish writing it since it was originally going to be on the "After" but I decided against it. Once I got back to finishing "Definitely", I just let go and didn't stress too much and everything just came together smoothly from the writing of the song to laying down the vocals. I really like this song, and I felt it was time to put it out now. I couldn't sit on this one. Your sound is incredibly atmospheric. Is this the type of effect you planned on encapsulating your music in? Yes, definitely. When I took the break between the first and second EP, I spent a lot of time figuring out my sound and what better suits my voice. I've written a lot of different types of songs during that break and I've been experimenting with my voice a lot and stretching myself vocally to see what I can do and It's made me more fearless as a result. "After" was certainly a reflection of the direction I'm going in, as well as my new project in the new year. Where do you think you’ll take your sound next for 2020? Well, I definitely want to keep growing in terms of my sound in Pop and R&B. I also hope to delve into more of my acoustic side as I play the guitar as well, so maybe an acoustic EP one day. I'm a lover of all types of music as mentioned, but the most important thing is to stay true to myself and not conform to what other artists are doing. It's super imperative for me to be unique and my own individual. Thank you Janockeil for the time to talk over your music! We hope to see you back! As of now, are there any other singles in the mix? No problem! This was fun! And thank you Buzz Music for taking the time to talk to me and for making me a part of this! I am so grateful to you guys and to be recognized in this way. My new EP is dropping in 2020 and I must say that I am so proud of what I created thus far. I cannot wait to share with you and the rest of the world, so stay tuned! God Bless! instagram.com/Janockeil #BuzzMusic

  • A Bold and Successful Year for London Breakout Star: Margot White

As London's Indie/Pop breakout artist, Margot White brings an unusual and compelling sound with her 2019 releases. She's always been surrounded by eclectic mixes, stimulating that eccentric vocal sounding within her music. Margot White brings about an integrative harmony that complements itself once executed. When we take a look through what she's accomplished artistically over 2019, we see an impressive tracklist filled with divergent melodies and consummation. Taking a closer look at the theme present in the tracks Margot White consolidates, we conclude that her sound is wide-ranging within the Indie/Pop category. This is predominantly shown through her 2019 EP release "I Saw it on the Radio". "Time of Your Life" contains airy and atmospheric indie elements tied in with her innocent-sounding vocalism. The general ambiance of the track maintains a lighthearted tone. We most definitely felt her utmost composure and sense of tranquility throughout the track. Another track we saw this year from Margot White was "Face to Face". The characteristics of this track differ immensely from what we heard in "Time of Your Life". Margot is bringing a more sultry and confident tuning with "Face to Face", combined with light elements of autotune to create an exasperating effect with her projected lyricism. Looking at other notable releases this year, Margot White's "Electric Wolf" brings us back to that serene and laidback nature. Margot uses this track to showcase elements of her artistry that the previous ones didn't get a chance to. It's as if Margot White takes us on an experience of her artistic abilities through her releases this year--each one highlighting a contrasting feature of Margot White's skills. All in all, "Electric Wolf" was one of our favorites, and this is because the track offers that reminiscent-like feel for us, a type of sensitivity that you can only understand if you give the track a listen. Listen to Margot White's 2019 releases here! Hi there Margot White! Congratulations on your 2019 as an artist! The year saw a few track releases from you, notably "Time of Your Life", "Face to Face" and "Electric Wolf". Out of those three releases, which track did you resonate with the most? Hey! Thanks very much.  Well, I think the more obvious answer to this would be “Face to Face”, only due to the fact that so much energy was put into it creating the music video, and it has sort of a larger scale production feeling to it; but honestly Time of Your Life, I think will always have a really strong hold on me, and I resonate with it the most out of the three.  It represents quite a magical state of mind that I was able to capture effectively after an experience with meditation that opened a lot of doors for me mentally and spiritually.  I was also super in love whilst writing it, which is always a nice feeling to infuse into a song. What steps did you take throughout this year to ensure that your artistic execution was as authentic as it could be? Hm.  I actually don’t think that is something I worry about too much, especially in the more intimate stages of creating music.  I think I am just either too stubborn or strange for that to ever be an issue, haha.  I think also being a perfectionist is really helpful, because I can obsess over minute details and that really serves to preserve a song’s integrity. Also, I find myself just living in worlds of music that I love very much through my imagination, and I really investigate those places for courses of action, like what would so and so do in this situation?  This is actually really helpful to me . "Electric Wolf" stimulated a ton of our senses as we listened through. The melody was extremely alluring! Where did the inspiration stem from in order to curate this type of environment for listeners? Oh cool!  That is great to hear.  It was a fun song to create, and a lot of layers contributed to the overall outcome, which is I think what you’re speaking to about the sense stimulation.  It’s not immediately apparent, but it was a Simon and Garfunkel song that got the acoustic riff intro going, and then there are a lot of Beach Boys references, lyrically and sonically through the track.  I’m obsessed with Brian Wilson’s sense of sound, so he’s always there in my music, but definitely more so on Electric Wolf.  Also part of the actual meaning of the song came from a place of immense sadness for a family member I care deeply for, and the sort of existential questions that result from such intense feelings, so yeah, it’s just meant to sound like you’re being taken right out this world and into outer space.  Like a weird mix of comfort through dissociation, I guess the sort of thing that happens when people experience something traumatic. This is meant to be represented by the phrase ‘electric wolf’ as well, because the ‘wolf’ is a metaphor for a tool that our modern technology created for mental hospitals that was meant to help people, but ended up being used abusively in the sixties.  But the song does hold a double meaning, and the other side of it is talking about someone I really admire and their truly special perspective on the world, and that’s why I think the narrative might come across as more romantic at first. The sound of your voice is incredibly mystic and light, a part of your sound that we can't look past. What type of pivotal elements of your music do you think complement that vocal delivery the best? Oh cool, that is a beautiful compliment, thank you! I’m not sure any specific elements of my music complement that delivery the best, I think I just really love taking any musical situation and creating these little microcosms of focus for vocal delivery.  Any musical phrase is an opportunity for exploration, so I definitely take advantage of that.  If anything, maybe moments where I feel particularly passionate about a lyric, or a moment in a song that is meant to convey something extremely subtle, those are fun places to go. We've heard that 2019 also saw the release of your poetry book, "The Fortune of a Fairy". Talk to us more on the poetry side of your artistry, and how the development and foundational inspiration came to be with this book? Yes, super excited about the book!  It was definitely a natural course of action, the book alongside the EP.  I just kept seeing reflections of the music when I would be working on the manuscript with all of the papers all over the floor.  Little fragments of lyrics here and there in the poetry, and equally the poetry influencing so much of songs like Electric Wolf — there is actually a poem with the same title in the book.  The poetry side of my artistry is really fun, as I came to it naturally when I was about nine because of some contest with a great toy as the first prize.  I knew I was going to win it somehow, and after getting that confirmation of victory I’ve just never looked back, haha.  But yeah, it’s a great frame of reference for creativity because it can be as structured and traditional as you want to take it, or it can be malleable and fluid and incredibly modern if necessary. Thanks for talking with us and our readers about your music, along with a few other personal details! What are you up to artistically now that this year is coming to an end?                             Thank you very much.  Right now I am currently working on a few side projects as a songwriter for others before I go back into the studio in January.  I will be recording some singles I will be releasing to follow up my EP, so just getting a really solid feel for the course of action and artistic intent I want to move into 2020 with. instagram.com/margot__white #BuzzMusic

  • Saffron Hearts Blows Away Our Expectations in 2019

As a mindful Indie/Pop band, Saffron Hearts are creating soundings that are unique to the category itself. These soundings are so delicate at some points, and rigid at others, giving us a nice equilibrium with their overall execution of sound. The sounding of the vocals in Saffron Hearts “Right Here” is multi-faceted. For the most part, it maintains an innocent and light, high-tone consistency and flow, which makes it such an easy and enjoyable track to listen to. Another track we heard from Saffron Hearts this year was “Save Me”. What a fun sounding track! They incorporated trombones, which ultimately set that dramatic and amplified energy for listeners. They blended in other tropical-like elements to elevate that positive feel we fully get from “Save Me”. As we progress onwards from the releases 2019 received from Saffron Hearts, we arrive at tracks like “Sky” which also feature as an acoustic version. It’s a light and airy track that exhibits parts to Saffron Hearts we didn’t know was even there! We have to say that “Sky” is such a serene and intimate listening experience. Hands down, our favourite track from Saffron Hearts. They can be so multi-dimensional with their sound that makes Saffron Hearts Artist of the Day. Their sounding is intricate and can be peeled away with rewarding ease. We’ll be keeping tabs on the band, for sure! For now, you can catch us listening to their tracks, notably “Sky”, over this holiday season! Listen to Saffron Hearts with us, here. Welcome, Saffron Hearts! We appreciate the chance to ask you questions about your music! Out of 2019 thus far, which track of yours has resonated with you the most? Paul: Hey! For me ‘Save me’ is that kind of song. We tried to express our philosophical views in the lyrics and also the music makes a wonderful vibe. I see this song as some kind of manifest. Lina: For me it's definitely track "Sky". It sounds so simple, but the feeling that it hides between the lines and inside the notes is boundless. When we perform it live, it strongly connects us with our audience. I usually say at the concert that it's a lullaby, coz this song gives you the feeling of comfort and calmness, peace inside and some magic in this very moment. Your sound is very, very genuine. For tracks like “Sky”, the vocal delivery was immaculate, and once combined with the production, made for an iconic sound to be featured on an official soundtrack! How was the emotion packed into a song like “Sky”? Paul: ‘Sky’ was one of the first songs that we’ve wrote together. It came out very naturally. Simple and deep, it already touched many hearts. Lina: This song is like a flash that blinds you, it’s like a certain feeling that you can feel in some spiritual experience, and then you realize how it's all set, this universe, laws of life. You have no questions, you just feel quiet and peaceful. And you realize that you've seen it all thousand times. This very second is memorized in the song. Out of every experience, Saffron Hearts has endured during 2019 artistically, what were the best and worst ones? Did these experiences help Saffron Hearts to grow even further artistically, or even possible stunt the process of music for the band? Paul: I feel like it’s only begging for us. We already recorded our first EP but decided to hold it until the end of spring. We’ve just released our first music video and it’s a big and meaningful step for us, cause we received very good feedback. Every new gig gives us new friends with whom we can share our music and experience something new together. Lina: Basically we were born in 2019, as a full band. We had our first release and first performance. We started feeling the vibe inside the band which is very important. “Save Me” was incredibly fun! It was easily a sound we could get along with. Where did the production inspiration stem from? Paul: One of the main artists for me is Bob Marley. He guides me along with The Beatles since my early childhood. So, we caught the vibe and transformed it into a song. Thanks again for taking the time to speak with us about your 2019! We’re excited to see what will be released next! Any hints on when we can expect to see releases from Saffron Hearts? Paul: As I mentioned earlier, we are planning to release our first EP next spring! There also will be some more music videos and hopefully many many festivals! Stay tuned and let’s see how it goes! Lina: We are willing to perform in the platform of Festivals and bring our music further into the world! facebook.com/saffronheartsband instagram.com/saffronheartsband #BuzzMusic

We're looking forward to a strong year from Peach Guevara in the New Year! Listen to Peach Guevara here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Peach Guevara! How was it growing up in Ontario? What was your favorite childhood memory that’s related to your music today? Growing up in Ontario was an all over the place experience. I was fortunate enough to spend my childhood growing up in the stunning countryside of Lake Huron. I grew up loving the water, both of my grandfathers liked to say that I was a fish. When I was a young teenager my family and I moved into the suburbs. I was super bored being out of nature, and surrounded by cookie-cutter houses, which resulted in me finding trouble. I think my favourite childhood memories that are related to my music would be any time spent with my brother. My brother Scott is 7 years older than me, also a musician, and from the time I was very young he spent a lot of time showing me music, that I still love to this day. One of my earliest memories is of my brother dancing with me, and swinging me around, every time the song "Last Kiss" by Pearl Jam came on the radio. I think 90s grunge comes out in my music, just softer. Talk to us about your debut album “Nude”. What was your theme for this project? Well at the time of recording there wasn't an exact plan, it's all just very raw. I literally just showed up at my friend's house and sang a bunch of songs I felt like playing at the time. During the recording of "Nude", in life, I was going through hell, so I played the songs that brought me the most comfort at that moment. In the end, "Nude" is a reaction to perfectionism, it is about being naked in front of yourself and others, and feeling deeply without filters, despite how uncomfortable it is. I wasn't trying to put this grand debut album together, I was just trying to find some kind of relief, which is why I play music to begin with. Sometimes I wish I had recorded the songs at a later time, but I think because of my state of mind then, it really added to the songs. Which song on “Nude” did you feel best represents the album’s entire message and why? Oh wow, this is hard for me to think of just one. I think they all do in their own way. Each song was put together in such an honest way, left unpackaged, just as is, nude. What was the most challenging aspect for you when creating “Nude”? I think the most challenging part was basically letting people into my diary. I've always been insecure about my sensitivity, I've either been praised, or ridiculed for it, so the suspense of peoples reaction to "Nude" was nerve-wracking, it's like, are these people going to get it, or are they going to think that I'm "hysterical"? How would you describe the songwriting approach you took to most songs on “Nude”? Again, I just let whatever I was feeling come out if I was lucky it poured out. None of the songs were forced, or planned with an end goal in mind, I can't write that way, otherwise, my songs feel like false garbage. What are you looking forward to the most Peach Guevara? I am looking forward to valuing my worth and feeling more confident. 2019 has been a wild ride for me, and it brought me to a point of realization where I understand that I feel my worth and confidence the most when I play music. There is another album coming, and I am really excited about it. There is going to be more planning involved, more sounds, it's an entire story being shared, of a very significant time in my life. It's going to be it's own thing, but it will still contain the same honesty as "Nude". instagram.com/peach_guevara #BuzzMusic
