  • Psychadelic Pop Band HARLEY Takes You on a Journey With "Japan"

Residing in Seattle is band HARLEY, where they're bringing listeners a unified sound with their eccentric take on psychedelic/pop music. What is HARLEY all about? Well, in essence, they're here to deliver a type of sounding that is different from any other sounding we can currently have access to. Consisting of members Cade Enslin, Kimo Kaheiki-Combs and Tristan Woods, HARLEY displays their emotional and steady sound perfectly consistently in the latest release "Japan". "Japan" brings a calm and easygoing atmosphere. The listening experience we receive from HARLEY is always pleasant and takes us along an interesting but not incredibly difficult story. One aspect to "Japan" that we appreciate is the smooth integration of expressive synths. They're powerful, but not overbearing. HARLEY strategically synthesizes "Japan" in a way where listeners are able to go on a vivid and softly vibrant imaginative experience with ease. We really enjoy the overall consistencies of HARLEY -- such consistencies we can always expect from the group. They're extending out their sound in a different direction, but what the right direction it is. With the release of "Japan", HARLEY creates the environment his artistry dwells well in, and we're hoping for more of these visionary offerings in the near future! • Exclusive Interview With Los Angeles Based Band: Scenic Underground

Hello and welcome to BuzzMusic Scenic Underground! You're making waves in the Los Angeles music scene! Could you tell our readers, how did Scenic Underground form and what would you like new listeners to know about the band? Scenic Underground consists of Joel Herr (Guitar and Lead Vocals), Alfredo “Alfie” Lucero Canaan (Bass and Background Vocals), and Theron Lynott (Drums and Background Vocals). Joel started the project in 2012 with a different lineup. However,  the band was put on hiatus because the other members moved away. Then Joel focused as a solo artist and started collaborating with Theron. Theron recommended me (Alfie) to join after some discussion to re-brand the project into a power rock trio. Scenic Underground was born fall of 2015, and it was a very natural collaboration between all of us. We released “Do It for Yourself” EP in 2017 with the production of AJ Oliveira. Since its inception, Scenic Underground has performed in many venues around Los Angeles; including Hotel Cafe, Good Times at Davey Waynes, Molly Malone’s and the Silverlake Lounge. Currently, the band is working on the first full-length album, to be released in 2020, alongside LA producer, Jesse Holsapple. Los Angeles is a huge hub for music. Would you say that your environment of being based in Los Angeles plays a big part in your creative process while creating new music? Los Angeles is a huge part of the creative process. All three of us come from very different musical backgrounds, but still enjoy the same kind of music. We all love Oasis, Arctic Monkeys, Black Keys and many more bands. For instance, I come from a punk and metal background that adopted jazz and other styles later in my life. However, I know Theron loves Big Band Swing and Country. This city is great in the sense that there’s always something going on, yet it has everything to offer in terms of available music. There’s so much music and so many musicians with completely different styles and attitudes. I feel Scenic is lucky that it managed to find three musicians with no ego and genuine love and passion to create and collaborate. What would you say is your favorite part about performing live? What is a concert like from Scenic Underground? Do you have any favorite venues that you've performed at? My favorite part has to be just jamming with Theron. When the drums and bass locks in and just gets that groove going, it’s the best feeling in the world. Although, when people cheer and dance along is always great too. A Scenic Underground concert is a tight, energetic, and sonically filled out. It consists of bitchin’ guitar solos, fat drum and bass grooves, interesting and beautiful vocal harmonies, and overall a good time. As a band, we all agree Molly Malone’s holds a special place for us. We always have a great experience in that venus, and it sounds amazing too. My other personal favorite is Good Times at Davey Wayne’s in Hollywood; that spot is a mood. We love your song “Another Way to Survive". Your live studio recording really captured the song perfectly. Can you tell us the meaning behind “Another Way to Survive”? “Another Way” is an energetic song designed with many textures. "Another Way To Survive" is about two people (might be lovers, might be friends, open to interpretation) who find themselves tired of the artificial nature of the modern world, and who have had their share of disappointments in life. The song's lyrics are one person expressing to the other how they have helped them stay hopeful and keep going forward despite the challenges. As the song continues into the pre-chorus and chorus, it continues by inviting the other to not lose hope, and stay open to the surprises life and love can bring them. It's ultimately a song about not giving up on the important things in life such as hopes, dreams, and love. Thank you for talking with us Scenic Underground, it's been a pleasure! We know you're busy working on new music! What can we expect to hear next from you? We are working on a full-length album with producer Jesse Holsapple. We are finishing the vocals and moving towards mixing/mastering once that’s completed. In addition, we are working in shooting a couple of music videos (including a cover or two) with an acoustic setting. • Jack Jaynes Gets Creative with New Song “Alone”

Jack Jaynes gives us something truly original with his new song “Alone.” He released the song as part of a 3 track EP project which is also called “Alone.” Jack grew up in Phoenix, Arizona where he discovered his passion for music at quite a young age. It was obvious that Jack stood out from his peers when he sang “Mambo Italiano” in front of his school at age 10. His individuality has not budged since, and it is expressed in “Alone.” The track is full of new sounds inspired by cultural sounds and styles of the past, fused into an 80’s synth-pop style song. “Alone” begins with a minute-long instrumental that includes a chill, techno backtrack as the melody is played on a cello. The musical diversity in the introduction makes “Alone” a song you will want to keep listening to! Lyrically, Jack Jaynes paints a picture that describes the anguish of past relationships. He repeats the words “all alone” throughout the song and peppers in discouraging feelings that result from the heartbreak that many will be able to relate to. There is a slight edge in some of the verses which shows that he puts real feeling into his vocals. The dramatic voice is nicely complemented by the strange musical sounds in the background. With such a unique sound, Jack Jaynes’ musical future looks like it will be constantly evolving. Listen to "Alone" here. instasgram.com/sw33tbbyj #BuzzMusic

  • Kat Holland is Making Us Feel Evocative With "Wanting More"

North Carolina-based Pop/Soul artist Kat Holland is breaking through her 2020 with a new track! As an artist who doesn't adhere to the average sound, Kat is trying to create a new and refreshing feel with her music. Her new track, "Wanting More" accomplishes this nicely. "Wanting More" is the type of track that can easily showcase the best abilities of Kat Holland, but not in the immediate way you would think. The song features more of a balletic environment, giving peace to listeners. Nevertheless, that comes directly in the form of the production, as the actual meaning behind the song will potentially have you reflect on past experiences. Kat Holland is bringing a softer and graceful touch to her track "Wanting More". The track follows along with the desires of Kat Holland, and ultimately her most intimate feelings. She takes us along a journey that is incredibly personalized and relatable to many of those who have gone through various different forms of heartbreak. Talking more technically, her lyrics bring about a sense of yearning. But her chosen melody doesn't bring about a melancholic vibe (the opposite actually). She methodically chooses the rhythm to have an inspiring feel, present in various incorporated synths. Her songwriting feels magical, and we easily feel a calming presence when listening to her music. If you're in need of a relaxing sensation tied to a vibrant story, Kat Holland's "Wanting More" is the track to be added to your playlist! • Sense7th Hits BuzzMusic With Fresh New Song “M7re”

Sense7th released a fresh single that will curate the most poignant vibe unimaginable. The release of “M7re” was a flawless display of individuality with a stratospheric vibe that elevates you into new heights and allows your emotions to roam freely. “M7re” was unique in every way possible. The vocal delivery was more relaxed while managing to be breathtaking with light harmonies soaring throughout. The lyrics were complex and poetic. Most songwriters write surface singles that are easy to interpret. However, Sense7th plays with layers, creating a dimensional lyrical arrangement. “M7re” is the kind of song that we can peacefully listen to while managing to accomplish a task that requires great focus. The production of the beat showcased light lo-fi and subdued elements which helped the aesthetic become more soothing and polished. Thank you for reaching out. 2020 is gearing up to be a big year! I am currently out in Buenos Aires, Argentina performing until the end of February and then, I will be heading to the US to continue touring from March until May, stopping at six cities across the US for performances. Congratulations on your tour in Buenos Aires Argentina! How has that experience been for you? The experience has been amazing and completely unforgettable. I am growing tremendously as an artist, writing a lot and meeting people every week that change the way that I see my art. It has been wonderful to be in a city with so many musicians and artists and it has been a pleasure to be in a town with so much culture for this long. The audiences are super attentive and are always sure to give positive feedback. The city is beautiful, everyone is nice and I am so happy to be in a place where it is Summer in January. I have always wanted to come here and I am living a dream right now. What would you say is your favorite part about performing live? What is a concert like from you, Hilary? My favorite part about performing live is having the opportunity for self-expression and storytelling in a way and having others experience that right along with me. It is very freeing to be able to let people inside of my mind and heart and have them respond with personal stories of people or experiences that they were reminded of. A concert with me is very personal. There’s laughter, sometimes tears and always a closeness. My songs are kind of like personal letters and I want the audience to feel that with me. I perform a’cappella songs and some songs with soft guitar. We love your song 'Come Back To California’ off of your EP 'Jade'.  Can you tell us the meaning behind the song? Does California own a special place in your heart? Thank you. It is one of my favorites. This song stemmed from a lifelong relationship with a close family member that moved out of state and we drifted apart. I always wanted them to move back, but now it has a bit of a different feeling, especially since I am not in California singing the song live. Southern California is where I was born and where I lived all my life. It’s where all my family lives and where you can go to the mountains, desert and beach in the same day. It will always have a special place in my heart. Thank you for talking with us Hilary, it's always a pleasure! We know you're busy working on new music! What can we expect to hear next from you? Absolutely. Thank you for taking the time out for the interview. Well, I am currently working on finishing up writing an album that will be out this summer. It is very personal and I am looking forward to recording it and performing the songs live. Also, I will be releasing a cover of Where Have All the Flowers Gone by Pete Seeger in February. instagram.com/hilarylankford twitter.com/hilary_lankford facebook.com/hilarylankfordmusic Photo Credit: instagram.com/virbarberox #BuzzMusic

  • Klavar Represents Generation KLV with “JAH”

Klavar, an artist in Queens, New York, has been passionate about music for his whole life. During times of hardship, he looked to music to keep himself going, which further solidified his destiny as an artist. Klavar uses his own life experiences and struggles to bring real feeling and emotion into his music, making him seem wise for his years. He has a saying that “Life Ain’t One Road” to symbolize that life is unpredictable, and therefore his music is too. He’s also stated that “emotions change by the minute, so if you write with your heart nobody will be able to categorize your music.” Klavar’s new song “JAH” fits his description perfectly, and has been described as technical and versatile. The tone of the song changes multiple times, keeping his audience engaged. The introduction includes a piano and an echoing classical vibe, before quickly switching into a soulful rap. The song then slows down again later allowing Klavar to showcase his surprisingly softening singing voice. To switch it up one more time, he wraps up the song with a spoken motivational speech. “JAH” demonstrates a captivating diversity that is unlike most songs. Lyrically, he focuses on providing listeners with relatable struggles, and the fact that getting through harder times is a real possibility. Klavar understands that with his music he has the potential to influence many listeners, and aims to give his audience a platform where they can relate to the battles of life. • Natalie Nichole Talks Her Win on Nick Cannon's #Signmetoncredible & New Song “Tell Him”

Welcome to BuzzMusic! What’s the story behind “Natalie Nichole”? What’s the story behind “Natalie Nichole”? I feel I have so much “story” to tell. Actually, I feel my life is more than just a story, it’s truly a testimony. I’ve been through a lot on my journey & with God guiding me I’ve gotten so far & I’m beyond grateful for that. There’s several lessons & segments that have played out in my life from birth to now. I’ve experienced racism, fatherlessness, abuse in all forms etc. but I’ve also overcome all of those things. There’s so much I could speak on & teach with any one of those pieces of my story. The most recent part of my story was being homeless in LA before getting discovered by Nick Cannon. Here’s a link to a short film of actual footage of me while I was homeless in L.A. This film won best directing & was nominated best documentary at the Writers Guild in Beverly, Hills. www.facebook.com/MsNatalieNichole/videos/2559878570724997/ I feel like if I were to truly dive deep into who Natalie Nichole is we’d need to set up a longer interview lol! You have some huge accomplishments, congrats! Tell us about Nick Cannon's #SignMeToNCredible Challenge via Instagram where you won! What was that experience like? The experience of winning the #SignMeToNcredible challenge to me was a Godsend it led me to my manager TyRay Johnson & has opened up so many doors for me as an independent artist. I got to work with Nick Cannon & I learned so much throughout that whole process. We really enjoyed your single “Tell Him”. How would you describe your creative process behind this record? My new song “Tell Him” is a true story. The process behind writing "Tell Him" was actually pretty simple because all of my songs are based on true events or occurrences in my life. I fell for my best friend, she fell for me & she happened to have a man. I don’t condone cheating but sometimes things happen & in that situation, it got pretty intense. The song is very descriptive & raw it’s truly saying everything that happened in that situation. Ultimately, in real life, we ended it & are still cool friends. Thank God for maturity & understanding otherwise that could’ve been a worse situation. I write about things that have an impact on me or my emotions. That rendezvous obviously made me feel some type of way. What inspired you to write this single? Do you draw any musical inspiration from any other artists? I think I pretty much answered this question in the last question. As far as musical inspiration from any other artists, I’m influenced by Chris Brown, Mariah Carey, Steven Tyler & so many other types of artists across all genres of music. I grew up listening to everything so when you hear a Natalie Nichole song you might hear flavor from a lot of different artists with my spin on it of course. I love GREAT MUSIC. What are you looking forward to the most out of this year in 2020? What can we expect to see from you? In 2020 I officially upstarted my independent label “Indience Music Group” where I mentor young indie artists of all genres in how to market their music & make sure they’re getting their moneys worth from their investments in their creations. Also, it provides a lot of opportunities besides that through the connections I have via my manager/marketer in the industry. At Indience we have the artist's best interest at heart. I'm looking forward to seeing my mob flourish. Besides that, I’m excited for all the projects I’ll be releasing this year on my own & with some of the Indience Mob. I'll be starting some touring & so much more! God is really working & I’m just grateful that all my hard work is paying off & I can share my gifts with the world. It keeps getting bigger & bigger & better & better. Subscribe to Natalie Nichole here. instagram.com/natalie_moments natalienichole.com #BuzzMusic
