  • Claire Saint Gives Us a Relatable Love Bop “You Had Me At Hello”

From the first note that plays up to the ending, “You Had Me At Hello” by Claire Saint was a melodic single that evoked a lot of chemistry between you and the song. My favorite element to the lyrics in “You Had Me At Hello” was how it helped us think about a special someone that we can relate this song to. The lyrics paint settings, images, and different storylines in your mind that help the record comes to life. It’s like Claire Saint places you inside the song to explore your thoughts and feelings with every movement of the song. Claire Saint is a truly special kind of artist with a magnificent vocal delivery that you can’t find anywhere else. The production of “You Had Me At Hello” was detailed and intricate with multiple complex arrangements, thus making the song as colorful as possible. “You Had Me At Hello” was a sweet-sounding, texturized, and even radiating single that takes a jab at the theme of love and crushes in a more delightful and vibrant aura. The vibes of “You Had Me At Hello” was as memorable as Claire’s Saint sugary vocal resonance that blends between a smooth falsetto and mid vocal range. Claire Saint is the singer to be on the lookout for and “You Had Me At Hello” is the record to be intuned with! Listen to "You Had Me At Hello" here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Claire Saint! Talk to us about your upbringing and background where did you find most of your influence from? ‘Music is my elixir‘ is not only the main statement of the first single of Claire Saints double album ‘This is Claire Saint‘, but it is also her life motto. As Marie-Claire Toussaint is born and raised in Berlin, she got to know a lot of different types of art, especially music. Next to a comprehensive education while going to school (singing in a choir, conducting, singing, music as an advanced course), she took piano, guitar and singing lessons. She was part of several bands and started within different music projects to write her own songs. In 2009, she released her first EP „Cover me“ with four songs in English that can still be found on her SoundCloud page. After Claire Saint finished school, she lived in Nashville for 8 months. Having the chance to stay with the musician Neal Morse and his family, she built a connection to the land, the people, the music and the language over there. That is why she decided to split up her album into 2 CD‘s, one CD with German and one with English songs. This shall describe Claire Saint's life between and within these two worlds. Her music is influenced by her background education, her life in general (she loves to travel and getting to know people), but also by the people she worked with. Tell us about your record “You Had Me At Hello”, What inspired this song? How would you describe the songwriting approach? 'You Had Me At Hello' is based on a story Claire experienced herself. It was written last year when Claire got to know a guy and from minute one she knew that there was a special connection between them. So she started to write about the meeting with the guy and she already had the melody line in her head ‘I do like you, yes I do’. However, she had no idea what the song title could be. Because of a friend of hers, telling her about a bag that said ‘you had me at hello’, she found her song title and the words to the chorus by surprise. What were some of the challenges you faced when making “You Had Me At Hello”? It was the first song, Claire Saint produced in America and with the Shuffle Brothers. However, she/they did not really face any challenges, because it worked out perfectly, working together. How would you describe the production and arrangement behind “You Had Me At Hello”? ‘You Had Me At Hello’ was produced in the Shuffle Brother Studios (Gabriel Klein, Gideon John Klein). It is a song that could also be a part of a love film. It is a catchy song,  full of small returning elements so that the song easily get stuck in your head. Especially the synth motif and the background choir accentuate the feeling of walking on clouds, falling for somebody, only seeing through rose-colored glasses. What are you looking forward to in the new decade Claire Saint? After the album release ‘This is Claire Saint’ (December 2019), which is a portrait of Claire Saint's life, she wants to focus on playing some shows (mainly in Germany and America) and presenting her German and English songs to the world. However, she constantly writes new songs…maybe she will start to work on her next album as well. clairesaint.com instagram.com/thisisclairesaint #BuzzMusic

  • JNR Delivers a Soulful Country Single “Down Low”

Influenced by his regular visits to Nashville, local Brisbane singer, songwriter, and performer Paul Seils, also known as, JNR delivers yet another heartfelt Country single. Drawing inspiration from some of the greats including; Merle Haggard, Johnny Cash, and Steve Earle, JNR blend his rich baritone vocals with unashamedly authentic lyrics. Performing back in 2016, every year has been marked success as JNR has performed in venues such as; Brisbane’s Lefty’s Old Time Music Hall and Tamworth’s Town Hall along with local bars, pubs, and rodeos throughout Australia. JNR is engaging for his warm tones and honest Southern Country Rock vibes. Getting the locals' attention, JNR was selected as BEMAC’s (Brisbane Multicultural Arts Centre) latest artist for the EMERGE project. With lyrics depicting personal experiences and journeys throughout life, JNR delivers a straight-from-the-heart country song. “Down Low”. His first official original release and boy is it good! This collaboration features; Jared Porter and Nolan Wynne, together evoking both emotional and visually candid representations of down to earth life. “Down Low” is relatable, smooth, twangy and a good balance of modest living. JNR highlights his true cowboy's reality while highlighting his memorable acoustic sounds. I definitely appreciate his muse of Johnny Cash in his ability to not only sing but create a catchy story we can all enjoy. Love the selection of instruments that perfectly work to create his Southern Country style. Listen to “Down Low” here Hey JNR, it's great to have you here on BuzzMusic! Can you tell us a bit about how you got into pursuing country music? Hey BuzzMusic - Country Music has always been in my blood (even at times when I've tried to outrun or deny it). Our family had a Country band and we played at a few festivals & World Expo 88 etc. We grew up on old school Country Music - I can remember listening to the visual imagery of the music, before I could learn to speak. I can remember Country-Esque tunes from the likes of Jim Reeves to the iconic Johnny Cash live in Folsom Prison. I heard a quote once along the lines of "visual art is how we decorate our walls - music is how we decorate our lives" - I know that it has for me! There's a very nice catchy vibe that goes along with your song “Down Low”. What was your inspiration behind writing "Down Low" We (myself, Jared Porter & Nolan Wynne) wanted to write an "Uptone" Country song. I like to get out of Dodge as much as possible - I have a love/hate relationship with cities at times. The conveniences are great, but the noise, traffic, costs of living, etc. can get a bit much. I like to get away to locations where your mobile phone has no coverage -  I like getting back to basics, so "Getting High on Life, on the Down Low" is the theme and mood we wanted to convey. We know you have such a strong country background. Do you see yourself incorporating any other genres into your music in the future? Yes - anything is possible. We are always experimenting with drum loops and samples etc. It will always be some blend and variation of Country/Folk/Rock hybridized and trying to find our sound in stretching the boundaries with the likes of Swamp Rock and Outlaw Country etc., and hopefully future artistic collaborations etc. What has been the toughest challenge as an artist? What advice would you give to artists that are experiencing the same challenges? Firstly creating and then establishing a brand, then getting that brand out + the usual challenges in the business side of raising funds and working out what the best "bang for the buck" on expenditure is going to be. Advice - get started as early as possible. I'm a late starter - don't wait, rather than waiting to be better and more stable to make a start. Like having children, there never seems to be a perfect time to start - start anyway and just keep going. Find good and committed people to assist and collaborate. Thanks a lot for talking with us JNR. We look forward to hearing more of your great music. With 2019 coming to an end, what can we expect from you down the road? We have recorded the beds in Nashville with Australian Producer: Mike Flanders and are working towards our next Single release (the modern version of Gordon Lightfoot's number one 1974 Hit "Sundown") in February 2020. We are still writing and collaborating with other co-writers in Australia and Nashville to release further Singles to create and release a full debut album. jnrofficialmusic.com facebook.com/JNROfficialMusic instagram.com/jnr_official_music_ #BuzzMusic

  • Artist of the Day: Ever Onward & His Alleviating Soundings of Instrumental Curations

One of our favorites is being highlighted today as the artist of the day: Ever Onward. If you don't already recognize the name, we can easily begin off by saying this project is a collection of melodies that are set to inspire. Colin Berardini, the name behind the project of Ever Onward, sets out to create cinematically lush experiences for his listeners with driving and emotionally-stimulating sounds. Ever Onward's productions being instrumental, it allows for the perfect reflective experience. As listeners, we personally felt extremely relaxed by one of Ever Onward's most recent releases "Ecstasy". As one of our favorite current instrumental tracks, "Ecstasy" gives that alleviating sensation, and has such a delicate and intricate touch added to it in terms of overall sounding. We can easily denote here that Ever Onward can create intense imagery through his instrumental curations, and it allows for any listener to freely create whichever experience they wander into when listening to one of Ever Onward's tracks. Hands down, Ever Onward perfectly captures what an Artist of the Day should sound like, and he offers that highly emotional aspect to his music strictly through the tune. As he's constantly releasing new collections of sounds, we know we have something to eagerly await for with Ever Onward. Give a listen to Ever Onward here. Welcome back Ever Onward! We're incredibly excited to be featuring you as Artist of the Day! How does it feel now to be consistently creating productions with your project Ever Onward? I’d like to start off by thanking you for all the love and support you’ve shown me over the past several months. I’m extremely happy with where Ever Onward has taken me. I’ve grown so much, not only as a musician but as a person as well. Ever Onward has given me the ability to dig deep within myself and use my traits, good and bad, as inspiration in the writing process. The amount of fulfillment I feel is overwhelming and I hope to carry that over into the new year. One of our recent favorites of yours has been "Ecstasy". This particular track feels very inspirational and sounds almost whimsical. Where do you find this drive to create tracks that encompass such a collection of soundings? “Ecstasy” is one of my proudest pieces. I feel that this song was a turning point of sorts for Ever Onward. When this idea came to fruition and I began writing music in a new genre, I struggled at times with translating my feelings into song. After releasing “Ecstasy” and receiving such amazing feedback, I felt that I was finally finding my niche. Every song I write is inspired by the things I’ve experienced in life; the good, the bad, the indifferent. I feel that during the writing process I was truly able to get in touch with my emotions and deliver that in sonic form. Your most recent release was this past summer, with "Daydream". Can you describe how the actual production of this particular track differed in the creative aspect to "Ecstasy", your second most recent release? In my opinion, “Daydream” is sort of a bittersweet track. To be honest, I’m not in love with it and never really have been. The writing process was quick and when that seems to be the case, I feel that I took the easy way out. It’s simplistic, somewhat repetitive and certainly not an intricate composition. With that being said, “Daydream” is an absolute representation of the things I feel when I find the time to sit and reflect on life. So, while it’s a simple song, it’s also sincere and an accurate portrayal of allowing my mind to wander. Learning to Breathe was officially released in August, as your leading EP. The surplus of soundings this EP is able to manifest was beautiful. How long did it take you to go through the creative and recording process for this EP? After releasing five unrelated singles, I really wanted to piece together a cohesive and meaningful EP. After much thought, I decided that I was going to compose an album that touched on some of the best years of my life. Learning to Breathe is a conceptual album that follows the journey of meeting my (now) wife, the highs and lows that take place in a serious relationship and the commitment of marriage. After determining the content I wanted to highlight, the creative process was surprisingly easy. Although promising ideas were fleeting, having to compile them into fluent tracks was somewhat difficult. A seven-minute song became two entirely different pieces, one of which was eventually squashed. A two-minute song wasn’t enough to encompass what I was trying to express. I eventually took a step back to gather myself and after much contemplation, I was able to pound out what is most definitely my greatest accomplishment to date. Through thick and thin, learning to take a deep breath before taking action is the most important lesson I’ve learned to this day. How is it that you can accurately create these vivid experiences for listeners that can make them feel such a variety of emotions? Where do you typically find your drive for creating such a vast array of soundings? From the onset of Ever Onward, my goal was to always use my emotions to drive the music that I write. I feel that by being true to myself and by letting my heart and soul lead the way, it, in turn, inspires listeners to get in touch with themselves in that very same way. Music is one of the greatest outlets in life and by creating lyric-less compositions, it allows them to feel what they want to feel, not how they’re persuaded to feel. t's always a pleasure to feature you, Colin! We love the project of Ever Onward, and what it stands for as a whole. With your most recent EP being released this past August, what do you think is the next plan for Ever Onward here on out? As I’ve said before, I always appreciate the support I receive from Buzz Music! I’ve recently signed a publishing deal with FBP Music and I’m currently in the final stages of my next EP. My goal is to continue growing personally and musically and to forever be able to inspire those who take the time to listen. facebook.com/everonward instagram.com/everonwardmusic #BuzzMusic

  • Ghost Train Shows How Well-Rounded and Diverse Rock Bands Can Get

Rock and Roll music is a beautiful genre that will never fade away. It’s a way for you to channel in your inner rebel when listening to some of your favorite bands! The dynamic rock and roll band from Ohio, Ghost Train, brings life, liberty, and pursuit of greatness into everybody who crosses paths with them. Ghost Train has a wide range of influences that peak through their unique electrifying sound. Their influences include various sounds of classic rock, intertwined with modern Pop, Country, Reggae, and Hip Hop! Which rock band do you know of is effortlessly blending genres like that? The way the different genres overlay one another and fuse together to fabricate the most rhythmic and trailblazing hit songs is just quite mesmerizing. Some of these amazing singles include the 2019 hit “For The Love Of Money”. Ghost Train wasn’t only shining in this year as they have an entire track sheet of records in the year of 2018, and we can predict the same for 2020. Ghost Train has proved to be a consistent act that has put the work in, seasoning their artistry to deliver us the most record-breaking and exhilarating singles yet. If you’re looking forward to more from them, you can be sure to be on the lookout for their 2020 upcoming hit single “Jailhouse Woman”. Give a listen to Ghost Train here. Welcome to back BuzzMusic Ghost Train! We're so happy to have you as our breakthrough band! How has the last year been for Ghost Train? It has been a year of further adventures, debauchery, and continuous development. From playing our first full tour to recording in the studio, 2019 as been very productive for Ghost Train. We’ve been branching outside our usual approach, and experimenting with different sounds and influences. Something we pride ourselves on as a band is our ability to appeal to a wide audience, so we look to capture that in our live recordings and new releases for 2020. The most noticeable difference has been the near-unanimous public welcome we received in our debut string of shows. It’s great to see people getting down to our music, and leaves us with a feeling of validation and inspiration as we look ahead to the future. Talk to us about your releases in 2019! Which was your personal favorite song and why? We’re very excited about our newest release “For The Love Of Money,” but what we’re even more excited about is all the music we were able to write and record for release in 2020! Without giving too much away, our fans will be pleased to experience more of that familiar rough-and-tumble rock n roll sound, while hearing Ghost Train step outside their usual comfort zone and explore more of the uncharted territory that continues to set us apart from other bands of this era. We’re using different technology, instruments, and really trying to push this train into the next decade! In what ways does “For The Love Of Money” differentiate from the other singles you’ve released in 2019? We are very excited about “For the Love of Money!” It features all the things that Ghost Train has come to be known for, based on a catchy, heavy riff sounding straight out of a time capsule from 1974. Bolstered by Eric Moss’ blistering guitar work, Ryan Griffis takes the reigns vocally and tells a story about a man who can’t seem to win over the affection of his materialistic and shallow sighted heart-throb. Sometimes the heart wants what the wallet can’t have. We approach this topic almost satirically, and in the least pretentious way, offer some commentary on the subject. You can try so hard to be something you’re not, just to try to win over the girl. But if you have to compromise your own identity and values to bridge that gap, then you’ve already lost yourself in doing so. Even though you weren’t charged, you still ended up paying. This extends to other subjects as well, not just romance. The point being, that we so readily set our identity and values aside in life just to make peace with our current situation, instead of reckoning with these issues and dealing with them head-on. Whether it be work, friends, politics, etc., we hope this message will resonate with our listeners and prompt them to stand up for their true beliefs and identity deep within. What’s the most challenging aspect of your creative process and why? The most challenging aspect of our creative process has just been finding the time for all of us to get together. Ghost Train represents the great state of Ohio, but we are spread all throughout its supple borders. What’s nice about this though, is that it gives us time to individually hone our craft and work on new material, so when we are back together there is never a dull moment. The entire band has been very involved in the creation of our new material. We are coming together much more cohesively, and depending on the time of night, somewhat coherently as well. Unlike with others though, jamming together seems to come naturally. The open exchange of ideas is encouraged, and the sheer amount of talent that we’re working with as a collective is starting to dawn on us. We’re very excited to see where the rest of our creative process takes us, and we can’t wait to share it with you all as well! Can you hint to our readers what we can expect from the upcoming single “Jailhouse Woman”? Jailhouse woman is another song that tells a story – Eric Moss had dropped off his girl at the time at the downtown jail, and when he got home, he picked up the guitar and recorded an improv jam based on this raucous love. What followed next was nothing short of rock n roll history. If you’ve ever driven down an old back road in the summertime, drank whiskey out of a tin can, or taken a collect call from the county jail, this is a song for you. Similarly, if you’ve ever felt imprisoned by a love that is either out of control or out of reach, then this is also a song for you. What’s next for you Ghost Train? We can't wait to hear what the new year brings for you! A lot more shows, and many more recordings to come! Our music is starting to gain a natural momentum, and we're just as excited to see where it takes us as we look ahead towards uncharted territory. We'll be testing the bounds of our creativity, musicianship, and dedication as we continue to push ourselves closer to this goal that we all share. There are certain moments in life that can define your future for years to come, though they are not always easily identified, and do not often come with easy decisions along the way. There are some who are deterred by this path less taken, but there are also those who choose to seize the moment. We plan to do just that. We will continue to put in the work that others won't, so we can live a life that others can't - and though we're far from the top, the potential is still bottomless! We appreciate everyone who has come for the ride along the way, and can't wait to meet new friends and reach new listeners in 2020! facebook.com/ghostrainmusic1 instagram.com/ghostrainmusic1/ twitter.com/ghostrainmusic1 #BuzzMusic

It’s truly an honor, me and my team been working very hard these past few months putting all the pieces to this puzzle together, and it's great to see success from our progression. Do you recall the emotions you felt releasing your first debut single, “Pop Out”? What were some challenges you face in the creation process? I felt “Lit,” we definitely double checked to make sure it was released.  It was the first time anything of mine been released on major platforms. The feeling was monumental. When I was creating the song I really wanted to make something to gravitate to the mass demographic, Making the song so that is was more marketable can be a challenge when you have a certain direction you want to end up. I did struggle a bit with not wanting to be defined or summed up to what I lyrically have to offer to this rap game. Who would you consider some of your main inspirations and influences behind your music and why? Lil Wayne, besides him taking industry risks, His marketing strategy has always been something I followed. “Go Dj” was a good way to get his awareness more into clubs, mixtapes, and radio. “Lollipop” was sex. I have seen what he did and I applied it to what I and my team are building for the future of my career. Let’s talk a little about your upcoming debut album “Treysean”.  What’s the main theme that’s surrounding this project? I want it to show my versatility, but more importantly, Treysean is what my mother would call me when I was in trouble, so this is more my way of telling the world that they in trouble. Can you hint to our readers what we can possibly expect from this album? A little bit of everything. Expect the unexpected. Nothing I can say can get you ready for what I have to say on this album. What’s next for you in 2020 Trizzy? More music. More visuals, definitely touring and performing. Just more getting to the goals that we set for ourselves. linktr.ee/trizzy_2x #BuzzMusic

He is undoubtedly the artist to continue watching out for, as he has a lot of tricks up his sleeve! Check out Geno Pacino's music here! Welcome to BuzzMusic Geno Pacino! How was your upbringing? Mind telling our readers about your background and how you found music to be your calling? My upbringing was pretty rough I grew up in the Englewood area of Chicago from when I was a kid up until now it's always been considered one of the worst neighborhoods in the city. But in terms of people, it's one of the best. A lot of people have risen to fame & success from that neighborhood I count myself amongst those as I feel I am well on my way to major success in this music industry. On the basketball side, you got a Derrick Rose and you have lots of successful entrepreneurs and people in different fields who grew up in Englewood. It's hard to grow up in the environment that I did and not be affected by it. I could go into a lot of graphic details of situations I been through you pray you never find yourself in. But life mine, In particular, is about rising above obstacles not being a victim of circumstance. Who would you consider some major influences for your dope sound? Myself would be one since I was a little boy my mom always told me " to be your own hero " So my style in terms of delivery lyrics and all is a reflection of the music that speaks to people like myself. I grew up gangbanged been through all the stuff you go through in the hood. So hardcore music or hardcore hip hop speaks to me the most. But I'm also an intellectual and just a laid back regular dude who for the most part tries to stay out of trouble. I think it's more people like me than someone who is super gangster so I exist in more of a gray area. I like that type of music with duality like a Kendrick Lamar or Wu-Tang, Tupac, LL Cool J, 50 Cent, Nas. I like all types of music but it's hard for me to relate to stuff that's not really edgy. My life experience has been one where it's been a lot of poverty, struggle so I can't get into anything too pop or watered down. My life up until this point is what created my style. How would you describe your own music in one word and why? Gumbo,  Because it's food for the soul and contains multiple different elements. Let’s talk about your releases this year! Which song you feel was the most monumental single of the year for you and why? That's hard to say because it would be different songs for different reasons. My most viewed video on youtube is " Bet Yo Life " but I can't say that's my favorite song. " Pacino Season " is my most played on the radio in terms of lyrics though " GetAway " & " ChangeUp " are amongst my favorites then I got a fun song like " Champagne Campaign " " Lethal Weapon " directed by my bro Will Gates my hardest video and song really to me. Then you got " Corner 52" or " Empty Land " " I Can't Go On " where I love the messages in the songs. As you can tell all my songs mean a lot to me. If I had to pick absolutely one it would be " Justice" both the song and video conveyed everything that Geno Pacino is about. I want Justice. Which song did you find to be the most challenging to create and why is that? My most challenging song to write would be " I Can't Go On " it's a song where I talk about my granny who passed away who was practically raising me for a huge chunk of my life my mom had me when she was in High School so you know how it is when kids raise kids. And the second verse I dedicated to my son. I write pretty fast so it was easy to write but it's the emotions and place where it came from that was difficult. I'm really a surface level person so I don't talk about the things affecting me but I'm in a lot of pain from just so many different things in my life. Losing my granny was one of my worst moments although it happened years ago. The things I don't say or talk about are the things that hurt me the most. I'm an out of sight out of mind person so I avoid a lot so anything, where I dig into that hurt deep inside of me, is difficult. You wouldn't know half of what I'm dealing with I just smile and keep it moving through life that's how I have gotten this far staying positive and encouraged. How do you plan on elevating yourself in 2020 when you’ve already set the bar so high!? I plan on elevating myself by getting my music on the word's stage which is now and has always been the goal. With the music, I have always gotten great feedback and support but it's by the people who hear it. Almost everyone I have encountered who has taken the time to listen to me loves my music. So the goal is to get it heard more and out there. You can have the best album in the world if nobody hears it then it does not matter. I'm doing everything I can to spread my influence and get more fans and to ultimately be heard. I am going to elevate myself by getting bigger and better venues, projects and more support. The talent is and has always been there it's just getting the talent and opportunities, production value, etc all on the same page. 2020 is about to be amazing I was not even doing this on the level I am now just two years ago my bro East London Bridges heard me in a cipher and introduced me to my bro's ChiseUp and now we got an even bigger team called the Circle and it's vastly different. So just imagine what lies ahead with the support of people like BuzzMusic, Swisher and so many other outlets that have seen the promise in me. I'm on the verge of greatness 2020 it all comes to fruition. instagram.com/pain707 #BuzzMusic

  • The Joy Reunion Debut a New Album and Holiday Single, "Winter Wonderland"

Hello The Joy Reunion and welcome to BuzzMusic! Can you tell us what brought the three of you together and your passions and goals as artists? The 3 of us have been friends for a long time and throughout the years we have each dabbled in various music endeavors separately but never really experienced anything as we did once we began writing songs for "The Joy Reunion" It was like we were reunited with the "joy" of making music again. We were honestly striving in our past projects and just trying to "make it" but when the 3 of us came together and created "TJR" it was like our talents and creative juices were given a new breath after being suffocated. The goals for The Joy Reunion are simple. We want to create the most honest and authentic art while remaining true to ourselves and enjoying the moment we are in now. No more striving. What's meant to be will come to you. We are honestly just enjoying each other and the music we create and whatever happens on top of that is a bonus. With the holidays coming up, "Winter Wonderland" is a perfect addition to everyone's holiday playlist. What made you come out with a holiday single? We have this thing we do on our Instagram called "Get To The Chorus" We cover just the Choruses of a particular song and put our TJR flave on it. We did this last year with "Winter Wonderland" and we loved how the song sounded with us and our three-part harmony. So this year we decided in late Nov to record a single and release it for Christmas. It was a tight schedule to get it done but we made it! I think we recorded, mixed and mastered it in 4 days. It was a really fun experience! How has your sound evolved since your original works back in 2017? I think our sound is honestly the same but as a group and vocally speaking we have gotten way tighter. Our harmonies are what separate us from other groups out there and we have really focused on getting those tight. I mean we are to the point now where we breathe a little differently and we can recognize that as a cue to sing a certain part or to lay back or to crank the energy up. it's crazy really. It's what every group or band hopes to have that kind of connection and we do. I guess it comes with the years of singing together in church but we know what each other is thinking and it only makes us tighter as a band. What are some of your classic Holiday songs? We are so excited for the Holiday season! We would have to say anything but Paul McCartney's "Simply Having A Wonderful Christmas Time"... Thanks for chatting with us at BuzzMusic. Can you tell us about the central theme and inspiration behind your newest album, "We've Come Too Far"? “We’ve Come Too Far” is a musical journey, a story, telling of love, loss, passion, heartbreak and grit, family and faith - all the things that make a life. The thing about growing older is you find you have a lot more to say from your life experiences. Isn’t that what we all love about music? That you can hear a song and feel like it was written about you or for you? That you’ve been there? Music has been such a big part of our life’s journey- as with any good story, there are the rise and the fall, the devastation and the hope in finding the strength to keep on moving forward and keeping the dream within you alive -against all odds. That moment when you say “we’ve come too far” to give up now. And something magical happens. It’s what we hope touches your heart as you hear our songs. Keith Cullen is an extravagant type of artist and the music he releases captivates his listener. When we took a listen to “Fire & Fever” we became absorbed within the powerful elements that undeniably capture you into the music. “Fire & Fever” had every characteristic that makes a hit record. The production of the song was perfectly arranged, the lyrics in the record were raw & unguarded, giving us a poetically inversive approach to love and heartbreak. What’s so special about “Fire & Fever” was how it personally related to the artist himself. Of course, he would be able to elaborate on this more than we could, but you grasp a huge understanding of the personal journey of love Keith Cullen has endured. “Fire & Fever” was a visionary single that exceeded past our expectations and more. If you want to listen to a finely-calibrated and well-crafted single that comes from the heart of an artist, “Fire & Fever” is the song to be in-tuned with. You can listen to “Fire & Fever” here! In 2018 I was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and a tumor in my bladder, which was pretty scary stuff! Both personally and professionally this was a huge Challenge to overcome- I am very happy to tell you I am fully healed and create my finest art/music to date. The easiest way in the dark times was to visualize me back on stage and to be back was glorious! Let’s talk about this sizzling new record “Fire & Fever”, Mind explaining to us the direct inspiration you had for this single? The direct inspiration was a relationship that was literally too hot to handle in all the wrong ways! The feeling when somebody consumes you to the point you literally feel “ there’s a fever burning in your bones” it's a modern-day love affair that turned into a scary-tale instead of a fairytale. How would you describe your creative approach to “Fire & Fever”? Fresh and uninhibited - JJ Daly who wrote the song with me in a genius when it comes to telling a story In a very universal way that resonates with you no matter what! Its also such a fun song to perform live and creating the artwork and music video we git to play with the darker side of my creativity! Tell us about the arrangements in “Fire & Fever”, were there any new elements you experimented with? Fire and fever were started on a Skype call between LA and Ireland and lyrics and melodies put down in demo form in my motherland- Then when it crossed the pond to LA I invited 2 extraordinary young producers, Devin Kennedy and Connor Musarra, to work their magic on it! Can you give us a hint of what we can expect from your upcoming album in 2020? Smoke & Mirrors have had an intense year with their vast majority of releases. They've packed in a certain kind of energy surge into each track they've manifested. Collectively, Smoke & Mirrors have always maintained an authentic rock sound, which has always held a special place in our hearts because it's difficult to find their aspect of sound nowadays. Smoke & Mirrors have prioritized their sound on predominantly rock elements, as they place a huge emphasis on being an eclectic and unique rock band, which comes with adding elements of varied genres. Speaking of their tracks throughout 2018, some of our personal favorites have been "Keep Moving" and "High or Low". "Keep Moving" has stimulated intense energy, while "High or Low" does this as well, combined with more emphasis on instrumentals. You can easily tell that in terms of the creative aspect, Smoke & Mirrors adds their collective curative ideas together, which is what creates that rousing and strong-willed performance. You'll never be disappointed with the kind of energy Smokes & Mirrors is inevitably known for. Their passion is incredibly assertive and forceful. The one aspect to Smokes & Mirrors that we've come to whole-heartedly appreciate is their stimulation of old school soundings with new-era dynamics. Being available on most platforms, Smokes & Mirrors allows for various listeners to access this rejuvenating sound! Give them a listen today to fully check out their abilities! Give a listen to Smokes & Mirrors here. Hi there Smoke & Mirrors! Thanks for taking the time to come to BuzzMusic to talk with us on your music as a whole. How do you feel collectively as a band about this recent year for your overall sound? A lot has changed with our sound, for the better of course. From being a full-on grunge band, we've started incorporating other musical elements and styles in order to try to expand our musical horizons. Some elements of Latin jazz, to ska/reggae infused with our heavy guitar-driven sound, is what we've been adding in in order to create our sound. We all enjoy adding in musical elements that may originally seem to contradict the style but end up blending it nicely and that can really be heard in the most recent recordings that we will be releasing in 2020. What would you say has been your favorite produced track within the last couple of years?  We all have different favorites! As a band, we agreed mainly on the singles which were "Keep Moving" and "High or Low", but I think that we all secretly enjoyed working on a track from our first release called "Borderline Love Song" which was a fun song to work on. Check it out on Spotify! Let's talk about the evolution of your music. How do you feel your music and its quality has progressed since you've first started releasing tracks as a band? Well for starters, for our 2020 release we have brought on board a new drummer and he brings a completely different feel to the band. The evolution from the first releases to now has been really a journey of discovery for our own sound. We can't wait for you to hear our new music in nest year! We know that one of the prominent qualities of your music is the eclectic elements added to it. Can you describe the types of genres you're most comfortable sticking with, as well as genres you think you'd never integrate within your sound? I feel we started up as a grunge band, reminiscent of Alice in Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, Incubus, etc. I think, as mentioned previously, the style has gone on to include a wider range of musical styles. We're definitely happy integrating most styles if we find it fits the blend. So far we've been able to integrate Latin jazz, funk, alternative rock, and heavy metal styles. We are open to integrating all genres but if there were some that we don't foresee adding in the near future would probably be reggaeton/trap/hip hop. There are a lot of great artists doing great stuff with these genres and it's about respecting where everyone's individual and unique artistry stand. What was different throughout 2019 in regard to your music, comparatively to 2018? There were fewer shows and therefore we managed to hone in our skills and dial in our settings a bit better. The introduction of a new band member also brought a new dynamic which helped to shape our current sound. Thanks again for taking the time to walk us through your 2019 as a band! From here, what can we expect Smokes & Mirrors to be releasing? Thanks again for having us here at BuzzMusic! We have brand new music coming early next year so make sure that you are following us on Facebook and Instagram to get the latest news! More than likely we will be talking to you guys again around release time! We have shows coming up in the promotion of our new single, aptly named "This Year", so be on the lookout for that as well. facebook.com/Smokeandmirrorscinci #BuzzMusic

  • 5 Questions With RO$Ewood Renegade

Hello Jimmy, welcome to BuzzMusic. Can you tell us a bit about your stage name Ro$ewood Renegade and what inspired it? First and foremost thanks for having me. My name is simple. I’m from Austin Texas and my neighborhood is called Ro$ewood. So that's where the Ro$ewood comes from. And the Renegade stands for my personality. “I have never been afraid to say what's on my mind at any given time” that makes me a Renegade. The lyrics in "Livin My Dream" are really deep with a meaningful message. What inspired you to write this song? "Livin My Dream" comes straight from my life experiences no more no less. I’ve been blessed to see the best of both worlds (inside looking out and outside looking in). Do you see yourself collaborating with other artists in the future? Why or why not? I most definitely see myself collabing with other artists in the future. I feel collabing will help me gain exposure (new listeners). I feel that's all I’m missing “the ears” and once I get those I’m going to handle the rest. Tell us about some of the struggles you have gone through and how you got to where you right now as an artist. Being a hip hop artist from Austin Texas is a struggle alone. Austin is the live music capital of the world, not hip hop. And although we’re 2 hours from Houston and 3 hours from Dallas (shout out to the H and triple D) it's like we’re that close but yet so far. My city gets looked over when it comes to hip hop and I think its mainly because we haven’t had a break out artist yet. Well not until recent shout out Quin NFN. And it is crazy because we have so much talent in the city. But ATX still in the building like the doors and the ceiling. Thanks a lot for chatting with us. What do you have planned for 2020? Again thanks for having me. 2020 is all tunnel vision. I’m dropping 4 projects  (1every quarter). so stay tuned and tap in at www.itsrenegade.com instagram.com/i_am_renegade facebook.com/jay.j.brown.35 twitter.com/renegadedotcom #BuzzMusic
