Do you recall when you found your early inspirations for music from? Thank you for having me again! And yep! At an early age, around 6-7ish, cause my Pops would always blast that Motown everywhere we went. Then I later discovered Chris Brown. Even if I wasn’t in the music game as yet I saw an older brother in him. Let’s talk more about your album “Doubted Child”. Starting with the name of this project, what’s the story behind the name and theme behind most of these songs? The name and theme came to me when I was in Atlanta, Georgia working on some new sound and I took a quick 5 mins to break to watch stories and posts back from the people in Montreal and I saw to what point people look down on you when you’re trying to make it out coming from the same city as them. I believe I’m the only one in my city who can do what I can do but still won’t have that amount of love n support reflect the amount of talent. Hence the “Doubt”. The child part came from the States where being 18 was still considered being a youngin. Which single off “Doubted Child” do you feel best represents the album’s theme as a whole the best and why? I’m Shinin’. That hook reflects being Doubted not just in music but whatever you strive to do later on in life as a career. The soul & gospel of it delivers the message and then when I sing/rap about my experiences with family and all. Can’t wait for y’all to hear it! How was it collaborating with Telly K on “Alone”? It was a chill experience. It was the same day I recorded “Eliantte” and I wasn’t really too prepped to record “Alone” so I freestyled my way through it and it came out pretty good. More Life to Telly & Alex from TooSik Studio. Great people to work with! What was the most challenging aspect of creating your album “Doubted Child” and why? Probably the change of sound and the fact that I hate expressing myself when it becomes too personal but I overcame that. I feel like right now I’ve been through a lot and it’s time to share the message and also let people know there will always be a brighter day. Just keep on marching soldier! What can we expect from you in 2020 Prince Amine? Sounds cliché but the New Me. Different style, a lot more solid, man’s maturing now. I believe it’s time for a drastic change but this one’s for a lifetime. Bet on that! instagram.com/princeamineofficial facebook.com/princeamineofficial twitter.com/princeamineoff #BuzzMusic
- Captivating, Slick Indie Release of “Lima” by Parlors
Brothers Matt and Dan Fullam have joined with friends, Matt DaSilva and Hart Mechlin to create the sound known as Parlors. It started when Dan received his first drum set from "Santa" when he was in 5th grade. The duo started to gain inspiration and passion for music, striving for more they added DaSilva as bassist and Mechlin as lead guitarist. This crowd-pleasing alternative indie rock band creates an energic tune, influenced by; Arctic Monkeys, Foals, Queens of the Stone Age, and COIN. Parlors are native to New York City. When asked what their music is striving for, Dan states “we half-jokingly call our sound desert rock on the beach”. The dichotomy of desert guitar and beachy melodies create a unique and creative vibration. In 2018, Parlors released a collection composed of; “A Night out of Dallas”, “Glass Bricks” and “State Lines”. Building from this success the group released “Lemon Ice” in 2019. In June, the song was critically acclaimed by Two Story Melody noting that “it bleeds raw crowd-pleasing energy”. “Stucco”, was recognized by Original Rock as an “old world desert grit and modern urban energy that begs to be heard live”. In November of this year, “Lima” was released and has been scheduled for live performance throughout New York City. “Lima” has the perfect combination of slick dance chords, hand-clapping energy and a beat that will carry you from fall to spring. A perfect addition and display of the group’s growth and what's yet to come in 2020. Keep this track close! It's one of those tracks that you can find on all your feel-good playlists. Listen to "Lima" here. We love the use of conflicting sounds that you're seamlessly blending in your music. Can you explain why you wanted to focus on a “desert rock on the beach” kind of sound? Thanks for the kind words! That blending of grittier guitars with dancier melodies and beats is definitely something that has come about naturally, rather than it perhaps being something we were intentionally going after. The tongue-in-cheek description of our sound (‘‘desert rock on the beach”) describes the trade-off between the Fullams’ (brothers Matt and Dan) penchant for Queens of the Stone Age-Esque riffs with the pop sensibilities of the other two members (Hart Mechlin, lead guitar and Matt DaSilva, bass). While of course not every song gets put through a strict desert rock vs. pop formula, we do think there is something interesting in blending a catchy pop hook with our love of energetic drums and guitars. The band is certainly not a one-person show, and hopefully, that collaborative, ‘best idea wins’ mentality will continue to keep the songwriting process exciting for all of us for a long time to come. Out of all your tracks so far, which was the most musically and lyrically challenging to create and how did you overcome that? That would probably be the first single we put out this year, ‘Lemon Ice.’ We originally started putting it together based around that big riff from the chorus, which is still one of our favorite things to play live. It did take us some time to really hone in on the structure though, and to give the song an opportunity to breathe dynamically in the verse and bridge. We played around with different intros during the demo process and are really happy with how the song builds from start to finish, but it was definitely the trickiest one to piece together. Lyrically, the track discusses the ‘grass is always greener’ mentality of having to escape where you live every weekend for a getaway. It certainly is much more of social commentary as opposed to any direct criticism of anyone or anything, in particular, so navigating those waters while also telling a cohesive story was a challenge that forced us to flex our songwriting muscles a bit as well. Primarily influenced by indie rock, do you see other genres influencing your work in the future? Absolutely, we’ve been loving what a lot of ‘bedroom producer’ artists such as Clairo and Dominic Fike have been doing. We admire how impactful their relatively simple arrangements can be, and the freshness of their vocal melodies and harmonies is something we’ve been steadily incorporating into our sound as well. The Fullams also love listening to laid-back classic stuff like Neil Young’s ‘On the Beach’ or Black Sabbath’s ‘Planet Caravan.’ Thinking back on it now, the very end of ‘Lima’ definitely took some influence from the eerie calmness of Elvis’s ‘Harbor Lights’ as well. We would love to record some tunes we have that show the subtler, nuanced side of our sound as well. Some of your previous work has been influenced not only by artists like Arctic Monkeys but also famous writing like F. Scott Fitzgerald and Hunter S. Thompson. Can you explain how these two different muses work together to create your sound? Yeah absolutely. The literary side of things definitely helps to influence some of the general themes of our songs, one example being the influence that Hunter S. Thompson’s “The Kentucky Derby is Decadent and Depraved” had on ‘Lemon Ice.’ Reading fiction also helps to flip on that songwriting switch in your brain, which is probably why those themes and sometimes even the vocabulary in those works finds its way into our tunes. ‘AM’ by Arctic Monkeys is a record that really made us want to become a proper band. The production on that album felt so fresh and peerless when it came out. There’s probably a thousand bands that can say they were influenced by the Monkeys, but what we really love about that group is how effectively they have been able to evolve their sound. Their chameleon-like nature is something we really admire, as they continue to push the bar higher for themselves with each record. What is your favorite thing about how "Lima" came about? Overall we were really happy with how quickly the song came together. We wrote and recorded the song with urgency, simply because we were excited to finish it and get it out into the world. With that said, nothing felt rushed. The pace encouraged us to be agile songwriters, trusting our guts and our ears while adding or improving parts on the fly. We feel like the energy of the song reflects that process. Thank you for chatting with us. We are excited to see the success and growth of Parlors. Do you have any planned tours outside of New York City? Right now we are planning on heading back into the studio early next year, and are working on lining up some shows both in and outside of NYC for 2020! facebook.com/parlorsband parlorsband.com instagram.com/parlorsband #BuzzMusic

Prince Of Lilies is one of those bands that just stands out from the overpopulated crowd of acts in the music industry. Not one to fit in with the rest, Prince Of Lilies is spearheading the grunge revival with their raw, loud and distorted guitars and angst-ridden lyrics about depression, suicide, ocean pollution, and animal rights. This rock n roll trio sounds like they could have come out of Seattle in the early ’90s. Prince Of Lilies has its own unique sound that’s fury, chaotic, and bashful. They’ve also been gigging and delivering exciting live shows. Prince Of Lilies has roughly about one more show before they head back to their hometown in Europe. Interested where? Our music is just who we are, how we feel, and how we express our honest emotions and opinions about life itself. Talk to us about this killer debut EP, “The Year I Broke”. What Was the overall theme and vision you had for this project? What were some of the arrangements you were seeking? We just wrote these songs out of a need to be loud. We’re not so interested in what’s out there right now and this recording is our own answer to it. Did you do most of the recording to the singles in “The Year I Broke” with live instrumentation or computerized production? Mind telling us a bit about the creative process! It’s all-natural. Just a band playing in a room with mics and one sound engineer. It was recorded on analog tape and so it’s got that sound to it. Which song from “The Year I Broke” do you feel best represents the album’s theme? There’s no actual theme except that it’s born out of chaos and sometimes a bit of harmony gets created. How has it been performing live so far? How do you guys plan on finishing off these last two upcoming shows? It’s been great. I have made lots of new friends and saw some great local LA bands while at it. We plan on having some fun at these last shows before we fly back to Europe. What are you looking forward to in 2020? Putting out our full-length debut and playing new countries. It’s the start of a new decade so time to wear some shades. Instagram.com/PrinceOfLiliesBand www.Facebook.com/PrinceOfLilies #BuzzMusic

Listen to Sasha Prendes' music here. Welcome to back BuzzMusic Sasha Prendes! In what ways have your upbringing and background influenced your style of music? Hi BuzzMusic! Thank you so much for having me back! I have two big songs coming out and I am so grateful to be discussing them with you again! Let's get to it- My family is from Cuba! I grew up listening to classic Spanish music of all genres. We had huge parties at our house for years growing up and my family is very loud lol. I love rhythm and movement. I love sad emotional ballads (which the Spanish do oh so well!), and I love fun happy music too. When we moved to Kansas, my dad got into country music and Toby Kieth was his go-to CD! The song "I wanna talk about me, wanna talk about I..." by Toby Kieth inspired some emotion in my new song Paris and I didn't realize it until after we finished the recording. Thanks, dad and Toby! My music is a melting pot of genres from a production standpoint- yet each song is a story of my life, true experiences, all written by me. Let’s talk about your music. What’s the major difference between the singles “Paris” & “Stay” from your artist’s point of view? "Paris" and "Stay" are about the same person. Different situations and very different emotions. In "Paris" I have confidence in myself that permeates throughout the song lyrically, the Latin beat adds movement, the accordion sounds for French flavor, and ultimately I was talking sh*t. I felt betrayed. In "Stay" I am lonely, sad, yearning, and despite the issues I had with him, none of them were so bad that I wouldn't want to take him back. For a long time, I thought this man was my soulmate. In "Stay" I feel like I just laid it all out on the table. Screaming I don't care if we ever date again, I just need to hear it from you that I am still your greatest love. Upon hearing those words, I believed I would be satisfied. Two very different emotions, one is more situational, the other spans over a long period of hurting What were some of the challenges you encountered that were unique to both “Paris” and “Stay”? In what ways were you able to overcome the obstacles? As an artist when do we not face obstacles? hahaha. "Paris" has been in the making for over a year and a half. We mixed it several times, added more percussion, added new stronger vocals since working with my vocal coach. It was a lot to get Paris done and I am so happy with the end result!! Stay happened in a flash. I wrote it in one key- worked with my coach and said let's try a key I have no songs in- G minor. I changed the whole melody and BOOM we have Stay. A producer named Rohan Solomon (who is lovely by the way) reached out to me on Instagram and wanted to work- I sent him a video of me singing the song and he loved it. The whole song was completed in 3 studio days and 3 instruments including piano, violin, cello, and of course my lead vocal. When dealing with obstacles I turn to my audiobooks, meditation, and ultimately trusting the universe. I try to be as calm as possible when dealing with unprofessional people, missed deadlines, and unnecessary drama. I have my manager to thank for that- she put me on to all types of coping mechanisms when dealing with people who try to screw us over. Having a team is so important and being able to trust your circle is everything. If you don't trust your team- get a new team Were there any specific arrangements in “Paris” you were seeking? Mind detailing to us? hahaha I love this song! So, I wrote "Paris" in my Brooklyn apartment after seeing a post on Instagram of my ex with his new girl & parents in Paris, France. I was so frustrated with him as he had woken me up at 5 am on a Saturday morning (New Year's Eve, 2017) to tell me how much he missed me, how the holidays remind him of our time together, and blah blah blah. All while having his new girlfriend next to him. I did not take that so lightly. My response to him was "Wow, really? PARIS? Y'all had to go to Paris?" He then gave me some excuses but did say he thought about me everywhere he went while in Paris. So I took my frustrations and wrote this song. He definitely inspired the chorus where I sing "I betcha thought about me". During our trip to Paris, we decided we were going to be together and give our relationship a real shot while sitting at a restaurant called Pink near the Trocadero. I mean, y'all I was crying. It was an emotional day. So when I saw this- I immediately went to my keyboard and started singing. It really hurt my feelings however, I took a more pissed off tone in the song as I was done being sad over this dude. I was mad! I wanted revenge. So here goes- Paris will be released on Friday the 13th of December x What inspired the lyrics in “Stay”? How were you able to personally relate to the song? I wrote "Stay" on my living room floor at 1 am while playing a few chords on my keyboard. I was in a dark place feeling haunted by a past love. The lyrics start out explaining how I tell everyone "I'm fine" when in fact, I was not fine at all. Comparing love and war, I use the metaphor of the "white flag" to explain that I am done fighting for this love that he is not fighting for anymore. But even though I say I am finished, I question why I still lose it when his name comes up, or why does he still haunt my dreams, and why I so desperately want to hear from him. The chorus is me asking for acknowledgment. I will be satisfied with knowing that I am still the person you love and the person you want to stay. Even if that's all it is- acknowledgment. I have been lovesick over this man for many years now and I finally feel some closure after performing this song. In the second chorus, I talk about how losing someone can trigger PTSD-like symptoms. For me, it's certain films, shows, and songs. I have to change the song or turn off the TV or leave the room as I cannot handle the thoughts and feelings that take over me when I see these certain triggers. I added lines in Spanish because it was just how I was feeling. I can go from English to Spanish in the same sentence and I wanted to show that in my music. Being bilingual, it's natural to say things in different languages to accurately communicate the feeling. This is my most heart-wrenching song to date. I have written hundreds of songs and this is my most recent one which I felt should be the first single of 2020. My body said to record it, my gut said to drop it on January 13th. & Yes, that date is specific. What’s next for you in 2020, Sasha Prendes? I am so HYPED for 2020 as I have my new YouTube vlog series coming out! I edit all my own episodes so it's been a massive project. I am so excited to share my hard work and experiences with my fans. I have new music and collaborations coming out in 2020. There is a lot happening, I am so grateful for my team and the opportunity to create every single day. - Morris Roe Talks to Us About His New Single "Waterfalls" and What's Next for the New Year!
Hello Morris Roe, it's great to have you here with us on BuzzMusic. Tell us a bit about your journey into the life of a music artist! Hi, thank you for having me back! First of all, I do not consider myself as a musical artist yet, as I still have much to learn. But my journey into releasing my first single and now my second upcoming single is one of patience and a lot of trial and error. When I was young and learning to play the guitar I immediately knew I wanted to make music. The things are though when you're getting to learn an instrument you cannot write the songs you want to write. So I kept my ambitions close to myself and practiced and practiced in my room for hours a day for years. I think at one point you just know by yourself when you're ready to let the world know what you've been busy within the back of your mind for Years. For me, that time has come right now and we'll see where it gets me from here. Can you give us a bit of insight into the makings of "Waterfalls"? What's the overall message trying to be portrayed and what influenced you to write it? Waterfalls might have been the hardest song for me to write ever. The riff and composition were made fairly quickly, but the lyrics took me almost two years to finish. You know sometimes you write a song and all of then sudden it becomes a bit too much? You just have to put away for a while before you can look into it again. The song came to me when I was in a low place and besides that, I came out of a heavy breakup. The thing is, we kept on seeing each other for way too long which eventually lead to the two of us keeping hurting the other. The message of the song is that you got to go. The thing that has got to go doesn't have to be a person, it can be a thought or a feeling that is causing you pain and make you feel bad and the only option to feel better is that it has got to go out of your life and mind. The song for me works comforting when I find myself in a place like that again and I hope it can do the same for others. What types of genre blends can we expect to hear in "Waterfalls". Do you plan on mixing your music with any other genres in the future? As you might know, my main influences are John Mayer and Post Malone. I try to incorporate the more Hip-hop elements like a heavy 808 bass and snares into the song while still relying on the guitar elements that most people love. You get an intro with a Hip-hop 808 but along with that, you get a guitar solo that you might recognize from Mayer songs. I think I found my way around music by blending almost every genre I've ever heard and taken little pieces from it. As time will pass I will get to know much more music and we'll see how that will affect my writing and composing. What have been some of your biggest struggles as a music artist or the makings of your songs? How did you overcome them? The biggest struggle I find is almost always the lyrics. For me personally lyrics are one of the most important aspects of a song. It portrays the ideas and feelings that an artist has behind the feeling and vibe of the beat. But it is not always as easy to get the idea you have in your head on paper without it losing the meaning you had behind it. The thing I do is just let it rest. I think of it as a barrel of water almost: When it is full you going to get a lot out of it and use it, but sometimes it runs dry and you just have to give it some time to let it fill up again. The hard thing about this is that I can get a bit impatient so the waiting often takes too long for me haha. Thanks so much for catching up with us Morris. What's next for you in 2020? I loved catching up with you guys as well. For me, 2020 is going to be interesting. I'm gonna have more spare time I can use to focus on making more music and the goal is to release an EP with songs that will show you all my different influences and how I interpreted them in my own way. Listen to Neon BLK's music here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Neon BLK! How was it growing up in Texas? In what ways are you influenced by your environment and upbringing? Growing up in Texas was very interesting. I wasn’t the typical Texan and I wasn’t the type of person to fall into the norms here. My parents aren’t from Houston so of course, I was going to come off a little different. My Dad is from California and my Mom is from St. Lucia, so I was raised on a lot of West Coast hip hop, Soca, Reggae, and 70s funk. Being from Houston chop and screwed was frequently heard. Growing up kids used to tell me I talk white, I’m weird, and etc…I’ve met all types of people in my city so I definitely grew up around a lot of diversity. My classmates used to give me this “goodie boy” narrative so it was like they were waiting for me to mess up but never gave them that satisfaction. Getting into my teen years in middle and high school was very interesting as well because that’s when music officially became part of my life playing in the Jazz Band. Texas is something else like the humidity and the people here. In what ways has your Jazz Band background in both middle school and high school benefitted your musicality today? Being in the Jazz Band in middle and high school has benefitted my musicality greatly because that’s where I really learned how complex and intricate music truly is. I learned how to read music the first year I was in beginning band in middle school and got to Jazz Band in 7th grade where I improved on my music notation skills, but when I got to Jazz Band in high school, I was truly introduced to a lot of improvisation. Learning how to fit unwritten and unplanned skills into an already composed song. I was instructed by Houston Jazz Legends, Kyle Turner Sr. and Al Campbell, and those guys were incredible. They talked a lot about training your ear, how to add your own timbre and flavor to the music, and how to overall be a great musician without making excuses. Those guys are still charging forth too so they are truly legit. I still to this day recall a lot of advice and talks they use give us. We hear you are working on a mixtape called “Interpretations”. What prompted you to name this project Interpretations? Any meaning behind this? Yes! Interpretations have been in the works for 3 years and I’m finally ready to unleash this beast. I initially wanted to call my project Interpretations after thinking about how people would perceive my work. This was the end of 2016 and the beginning of 2017 where I started to think about perception vs reality. I was vaguely focusing on how my rants, messages, social media posts, and feelings came across and whether they seemed valid or not. This was a year after my first relationship ended when I started to pay more attention to racism and realizing how powerful it is, and me wanting to finally step out to make my dream a reality. There is a tendency I have to naturally just sit and go through my thoughts. With all those thoughts running through my head I decided maybe I should call it Interpretations, and see how my potential audience would receive it. After a year, the concept slightly changed but still kept that same mysterious element. I started to catch feelings for someone who I was intimidated to talk to so I started writing a lot about that. Eventually, I let them know how I felt through a love letter to no avail which greatly affected me but still dealt with it by writing. Interpretations' concept came full circle and now it's about how people perceive and then receive my tragic dark romanticism. There are 2 songs on the project that were written when the idea was originally developed about my past relationship and the aftermath while dealing with unrequited love. What are some of the challenges you may have faced in the creation of “Interpretations”? There were so many challenges over the past 3 years. When I first developed the concept for Interpretations, I bought my own equipment and started to record at my Univerisity’s music building on my own. I didn’t have the tools to mix and master but that challenged me to make sure my recordings were solid. Spring of 2017, I was going through a pledge process for my fraternity, Phi Mu Alpha, so I had to pause my sessions temporarily. That Summer my laptop I was using at the time crashed so I had to stop again, but that Fall I was back in action getting another laptop to resume recording at my house. Everything was working out fine after finishing recording the initial tracklist that Winter, but then an old classmate from college hit me up after I posted that I need my songs mixed and mastered. We re-recording everything but was disappointed with the mixes. I was very dissatisfied with him not sending me the stems to get them fixed so I was back to square one. I found another studio and everything was going good until the engineer I worked with stopped responding, and the mixes weren’t as strong as they needed to be. I had to take a break for several months from recording and that’s where the concept slightly changed and I started writing more about this person I had feelings for. Winter 2018 came around and I resumed recorded with a new engineer. Our session was great, I felt so good recording solid tracks again, but when I frequently contacted him to get the songs mixed and mastered I was given the runaround…for 7 months! I did not get the newer songs until Summer 2019 after confront the engineer. That man sold false promises and dreams. I hope no one falls victim to that and I learned my lesson. There is one engineer in Houston that has shown persistence, consistency, and always makes time to work with me by the name of Russell Guess. Very talented engineer, and usually the sound behind fellow Texas Indie artist Eimaral Sol. Between all your releases this year, which has been the most monumental for you as an artist and why? Of all the releases of 2019, Percs & Pills has to be the most monumental. I wrote and recorded this song more than a year ago, and has meant so much. It perfectly illustrates how deeply I felt for this crush I had and illustrates love at first sight. It really sets the theme of Interpretations, and anyone could relate. The imagery and word choice were phenomenal in my opinion. It’s structured and written very well, and the producer, MNDBD, really sets the vibe and tone. This is one of the songs I had to wait 7 months until I got the stems to finally finish it. The version that’s out now was mixed and mastered by Dorothy Chan from Barron Studios in Houston. This song is a hit! instagram.com/neonblkmusik facebook.com/neonblklovemusik twitter.com/NeonBLK2 #BuzzMusic

Anna Cole is an obvious showstopper. At just the young age of 14, she has already accomplished so much and has the future looking brighter than ever for her. We’re blooming with excitement for her upcoming releases and we will most certainly keep our eye out on this shining star. Listen to Anna Cole's music here. Hey Anna Cole! Welcome back to BuzzMusic. Besides music, what are some hobbies and fun facts about yourself that you’d like to share with our readers? Besides singing and recording, I like to draw and paint. I'm also into gaming and I play almost every day. I'm getting pretty good! A few fun facts about me are I love going to the gym, and I enjoy baking. (I never said I was good at it though!) I love going to the beach, and out on our boat as well. Here in North Carolina in the summer the weather is perfect for a great day out on the water. You’re a highly talented artist! How would you describe your songwriting and creative approach to your music? I like to write and sing about things that are relevant in my life, but also I like to imagine situations and stories about things I've never done before. As a teen advocate, I write about issues we teens face; I wrote 'Don't Go' about teen suicide, something that happens all over the country and I hope to raise awareness through the song and especially my music video, which was really powerful and meant a lot to me and everyone who helped make it. Same goes for Keep Talking, a song about bullying and standing up for yourself no matter what anybody says about you. What was the theme behind your song “You Get Me”? Did you face any challenges recording this single? "You Get To Me" is probably the easiest song for me to sing out of all of my originals. It's about a typical boy or girl who's attracted to you, but is just 'playing it cool'. Even though they're acting like that, they're really checking out your Instagram and other socials and you know it because you're watching them watching you! It's also about attraction and the one universal language we all know: LOVE. We’re excited about This upcoming EP in 2020! Mind hinting to our readers what we can expect from this project? I've got some great new songs we're working on right now. One new song is called DIY and the hook dips into more of an EDM style and is a little heavier-sounding. It's about making a choice in life and going for it. Here's a lyric from the song: You could be the audience watching someone dancing, or you could find the courage to get on the floor and do it. You could wait for everything, leaving it to chances, or you can make it happen. You can do it yourself! Why depend on any else, when you can do it, you can do it yourself. Which element to this EP do you feel will surprise your listeners the most? I think listeners will be most surprised by just how much I and my team have grown, both vocally and musically. The music and overall production of the songs are getting really good and I'm feeling more confident than ever that I can do this at the national level. It's all about confidence and having the right team of talented people working with you with the common goal of success. Thank you for sharing with us Anna Cole! What has been your personal favorite moment of your career so far this year? I love working and collaborating with people from all around the planet. I've shared my music with producers and songwriters from Spain, The United Kingdom, Miami & Nashville here in America, Canada, etc. That would probably be the best part of my music. Getting different opinions and getting to experience and express different cultures and backgrounds through my music, so that I can share it with the world. instagram.com/annacole905 facebook.com/annacole905 #BuzzMusic
- Noah Horne Is On A Consistent Path To Major Success
Noah Horne is a pleasant breath of fresh air. He has a magical twist when it comes to his music. Noah Horne plays the harp and mixes it with his pop-influenced sound. Born in London, bred in Norfolk, he was surrounded by strong communities with the desire to bond and unite over the music. Unfortunately, Noah Horne didn’t have the same level of support and love. He grew up surrounded by lots of people telling him what he must do and how he must think, but he was equipped with other plans! Noah Horne got his footing when he auditioned for a popular show that toured around the UK and Europe, called “Wild Life FM” in 2015. This was a show for teenagers, ran by teenagers and it impressed audiences all over the continent. Firstly addressing the relationship between teenage anxiety and songwriting, followed by challenging the traditional and even progressive status quo through original music, Noah Horne was able to get an early start on finding himself as a true artist and his impressive tracklist shows that. After collaborating with CODIC on his first two singles 'Seventeen' and 'Astronaut', Noah has finally released his third single ''Lift Off' in the fall of 2019, completing the trilogy of songs released in 2019. 'Lift Off' will signify letting go of a toxic relationship, i.e. forgive but don't forget. Noah heads down a dance-pop path, with exciting releases early in 2020. Collaborating with producer and sound designer 'Michaelangelo', both artists are creating an exciting but maybe dark dance track emerging. Huge music projects are dropping throughout next year, and you don’t want to miss out on all that’s in store for us from the one and only Noah Horne! Listen to Noah Horne here. Hey Noah Horne! We’re glad to have you on our BuzzMusic platform. Talk to us about your music more in-depth. You released your single “Lift Off” which was a FIRE hit! Tell us about the creative process behind this record? THANK U SO MUCH! I can't believe it went down as well as it did. You guys picked it up like 10 MINUTES after I released it, I'm SO GRATEFUL for your amazing words, it's one of the reasons why I continue to keep doing music. This was an interesting process because I think I always wanted 'Lift Off' to be beautiful and natural, just the words flowing through accompanied by the piano as the only thing holding the song down. The lyrics about letting go of a toxic relationship are so important, and for this song, my producer Ben (Half Crescent) and myself just felt it wasn't appropriate to place hundreds of squeaky clean synths in the mix. The song was all about isolation and those experiences of being alienated as a teen growing up in Norfolk, England forced me to write about those experiences to reclaim the slightest bit of sanity. Ben told me to literally let it out in the final recording and just pour out the emotion (we did so many demo tracks haha). In what ways does “Lift Off” differentiate itself from your previous releases from your artist perspective? Lift Off is definitely the song baby I want to protect. It is my most stripped back and most raw song. It's about letting go and turning over a new leaf and I think that's so so important in today's world to build bridges that are so easily destroyed. There was this one person who messed me up emotionally, by convincing me that they loved me, and then when I fell for them they ignored and ghosted me. I wrote lift off to cope with the homophobia I suffered from the situation. It's a song about bringing peace to myself though, by literally 'lifting off' the bad situation to start over. Ie forgives the person but doesn't forget. The song is controversial. Some people LOVE IT. Others RIPPED IT APART. But at the end of the day, I wrote it to cope with homophobia that was inflicted on me, so I will let that thought lie with the haters. What inspired the lyrics behind “Lift Off” and how were you able to personally relate to this single? My music talks about isolation, and one of my most striking memories was being alone in a dark field at night in the country, feeling like there was nowhere to turn because I had been badly bullied that day and wanted to be alone - and I remember I stood there with a lack of hope and I looked up. Norfolk, England has one of the clearest skies in the country, where you can see the stars and the galaxies weave in and out of each other. People used to see this as a sign of hope in the 60s space-age optimism movement. There was this whole mantra of escaping the harsh realities of life through surrealism, like driving your car to the moon or something crazy like that. This child-like image of a hot air balloon floating into outer space and not returning was just so sad to me - yet bittersweet beautiful. My mum used to read me the story about 'la petit prince', who was searching through the dark in outer space for purpose in life: to make sense of the world. This hugely resonated with me. The homophobia that was inflicted on me made me feel like a million miles away, like drifting alone amongst the satellites above the cold stratosphere. No one can hear you cry for help in outer space, I had to rescue myself. What can you hint to us about your 2020 releases? We are definitely going down a more electronic path - that's for sure. And u guys will be the first blog to premiere it, that REALLY EXCITES ME! It's definitely more pop, but the dark and melancholic undertones will continue. Life isn't always pretty, and I feel my music has to talk about those skeletons in the closet and force them out into the open. There will be more self-empowerment bops, however. I'm moving forward and will unapologetically reclaim my righteous space of existing in peace, with a bit of sass chucked in of course lol. What’s next for you Noah Horne? Hopefully the most amazing future full of kindness and happiness. Giving back to my fans and giving them the most beautiful music they deserve. I hope to continue to heal people through my music. I've been doing some acting too - which has been entertaining, to say the least, but hopefully giving back valuable to all my true fans, THANK YOU ALL FOR HAVING ME! YOU SUPERSTARS ROCK and I CAN'T WAIT TO BE BACK SOON! noahhornemusic.com instagram.com/noah_horneofficial twitter.com/NHorne_official facebook.com/noahhorneofficial #BuzzMusic

After releasing his single “Back to Rap” and essentially knocking the proverbial dust off his microphone, Jay Greene has been consistently focused and writing his music nonstop. He doesn’t have any official plans for an album but has been dropping music after music alongside performing constantly. His most recent releases “ Greene Apple” & “Ginsu” is proof that this decorated combat vet is ready to take the proverbial fight to the mainstream rap industry. Both songs showcase Jay Greene’s hard emcee skills alongside his creative aspect to his artistry that allows him to shine brighter than most. Jay Greene has the ability to grab your attention, reel you in, and keep you 100% invested in him and his music. His attractive sound, appeal, and brand are perfect for captivating the general public. Jay Greene blends together the contemporary trendy beats with the old school and raw delivery & lyricism that makes him a standout artist compared to most. Jay Greene has everything it takes to be on the top of his game with the musicality to complement his impressive caliber of skills. It’s always amazing watching an artist come up and see how well they take control of their success, Jay Greene is uncertainly the rapper to be on the lookout for. Listen to Jay Greene's music here. Hey Jay Greene! Welcome to BuzzMusic, we’re excited to have you on our platform. Before you began pursuing music, what was the inspiration that initially drove you to do this? I don’t remember my life without Hip Hop. The first rap song I ever heard was LL Cool J’s “I’m Bad”, from there my love for the art form of rapping grew. Watching and listening to my uncle rap in the early days inspired too. Let’s talk more in-depth about your music! You released an EP titled “Back To Rap.” tell us more about this record and the vision you had for this song? “Back To Rap” has a double meaning. Personally, the project was my reintroduction into rap. I had given up on my dream years ago and when I decided to pick the mic up again, I was coming “Back To Rap”. The other side of that coin is the current climate of rap music today isn’t really about the skill of rapping like it was when I was coming up during the golden era and 2000s. I wanted “Back to Rap” to just get back to hard beats and dope bars. No singing and definitely no damn auto-tune. In what ways does “Back To Rap” differentiate from your other releases like “Greene Apple” and “Ginsu”? Recording Back to Rap was my first time behind a mic in a very long time. I think the biggest difference between that project and the songs that followed it was how comfortable I get the more I’m in the booth. Uptempo battle rap songs are usually the theme of my music, so that’s always gonna be consistently dope. What are some of the main challenges and obstacles you face when creating a song and in what ways do you overcome these challenges? The biggest obstacle for me is finding a beat I can get excited about. These days everyone is rapping over the same recycled trap beat and finding a producer that wants to make something different can be a task in itself. Which song out of your 2019 releases do you feel best represented your artistry the most? Explain why! Right now “Ginsu” stays on repeat not because it’s my latest single but it’s a fun song to turn the radio up to. It has that 2000’s feel to it and it so won't sound like anything on the radio and that’s always a good thing cause most of what’s on the radio is garbage. Thank you for sharing Jay Greene! How do you plan to spend your holidays this year? My holidays are usually spent watching “Die Hard and “A Christmas Story” eating everything in sight and enjoying my family. instagram.com/jgreene4real #BuzzMusic
- Feel Empowered with Hooked Like Helen's "No Turning Back" from EP "Tragedy Of Physics"
Hooked Like Helen. Remember the name, because you'll be hearing way more on them in the near future. Hooked Like Helen is the music group that blends those iconic elements of pop, with a pinch of funk/alternative. They give an eclectic mix of soundings, which is undoubtedly their secret token to a great production. Their recent music has us spinning! It's fun, light and dance-worthy at the same time. An eclectic feel for an eclectic group, their EP "Tragedy Of Physics" releases into the music world! Hooked Like Helen delivers an inspirational rack with "No Turning Back". They're able to sustain that empowering and uplifting feel with listeners easily. By incorporating a variety of instrumentals and melodies, they hold a strong, positive presence. Hooked Like Helen ultimately shines in terms of vocal execution. "No Turning Back" is the best fitting track to showcase Hooked Like Helen's vocal dynamics. It's incredibly the range they have and makes for an iconic production. We also have a soft spot for artists that can impart a general feeling of wellbeing into their listeners, which Hooked Like Helen has seemed to master at this point. We feel genuinely happier when listening to their music, and "No Turning Back" is nothing less. We highly recommend you take a listen to their new EP "Tragedy Of Physics". Listen to Hooked Like Helen here. Hey, Hooked Like Helen! We're happy we get the chance to speak with you about your new EP “Tragedy Of Physics"! Are you content with how the vision maintained throughout the songwriting/recording process? Thanks, BuzzMusic! It was quite a journey from the start of this EP to the final mastered tracks, with some diversions along the way, but we definitely feel like we nailed the vision at the end. There were moments when we had to step back and say “nope. this isn’t it.” which can be frustrating as artists. When you’ve put so much hard work in, especially when you are dealing with the stress of a time crunch, it but at the end of the day, nothing is a waste of time. It is all a part of the process, even the stuff you have to let go of. How did it feel to record your track "No Turning Back"? Is it difficult to manifest the required energy and robustness to the track, or does this mentality and personality come easy to record? “No Turning Back” was super fun and a totally unique experience for us; we wrote it for the theatrical trailer for ‘High Strung Free Dance’, and we had the vision of director Michael Damian to follow. It was cool channeling the themes of the film and coming up with something that we otherwise wouldn’t have created. Once the song was written, the production flowed fairly smoothly - we just knew so clearly what direction to take it in. And since this upbeat vibe was sort of different from what we usually do, it was really fun getting into it and running with it. Tell us about your favorite moment within the songwriting/recording/performing process? How have you changed your execution from the very start, to now? Nikki: My favorite moment in the recording process for this EP was definitely when we tracked the guitar for ‘Tear This Place Apart’. We have a home studio and record almost everything there, but electric guitar had always been a bit of a challenge for us…so it was a proud moment when we got the mic positioning right, and the FX right and the guitar part just soared the way it did in my head during the writing process. Jon did an awesome job playing the part. Our execution is much different now from when we started. Having a home studio has allowed us to experiment with production and sounds and vocal techniques and arrangements in a way that we never could have before. We’ve become much more reliant on ourselves and our own pre-production than we were on our first several releases and we’re thankful to be able to keep progressing as a band. What's a contrasting genre from what you create now, that you could see elements of it being blended into your future music? Our sound is already quite a blend of different genres and we’ve had so much fun tapping into trap and folk on this last record - I think we’d like to experiment with some more electronic stuff, get a little dancey on the next one! :) When did you last perform? How does the performing process differ from the recording process for Hooked Like Helen? We just played our first show ever as Hooked Like Helen at The Study in Hollywood on Friday! (Nov 22nd). We had so much fun and can’t wait for more! Live is so different because everything doesn’t have to be perfect. There’s no meticulous do-over stuff, you just go with it and feed off the energy of the crowd. As a perfectionist, it's sometimes hard to transition my mentality away from getting concerned about every note, but once you get into the moment, its just the best! What's the next move for Hooked Like Helen, now that “Tragedy Of Physics" has been released? Well, we plan to book a mini-tour this summer, mostly in the midwest where we are from. We are looking forward to getting back in the studio and tracking some new music too! 2020 is going to be a great year! :) facebook.com/hookedlikehelen instagram.com/hookedlikehelen twitter.com/HookedLikeHelen hookedlikehelen.com #BuzzMusic
