This song is nothing like your ordinary or anything Curtis has released prior. this record is still melodic, serenading you with each chord. He has the trendy sound that’s marketable to the GP while remaining authentically true to his own individualistic style that will cater to a vast audience of listeners and showcase his ability to pop out like a sore thumb from his competition. 2019 was an amazing year for Curtis, but 2020 is bound to be even greater! Welcome to BuzzMusic Curtis III. Talk to us about your journey thus far. What has been the most monumental moment in your career so far and why? I finally realized it comes down to trusting in myself. Once I let go of needing validation and put my all into myself that then I saw the real change I started to see progress. You released two amazing singles this year that we loved! What was your initial vision you had for both “Make Time” and “Have You Ever”? Did you stumble upon any challenges during the creation process of both of these tracks? In Make Time I’m talking to myself, I’m looking in the mirror. evaluating what I want and go after it no breaks no hesitation. "Have You Ever" to me is expressing humility and again looking in the mirror and admitting what I may hide from the outside, it's me letting all out and not being held back from song structure or what’s said to be trending. How did you manage to find balance with staying true to your sound yet creating an entirely different arrangement between “Make Time “ and “Have You Ever”? I never have an idea in mind about what I want to make. every song is literally me at home recording myself on a beat that J pattern dropped that day on youtube. I just catch the mood the production gives me and record. Between both singles, which would you say you personally relate to the most and why? both explain me piece by piece. I want you to hear my thoughts song by song. But if I had to choose then Have you ever… that one is just how I been feeling lately We’re excited about your full-length project set to release in 2020. What are you planning on showcasing to your fans that will shock them in a positive measure? I could never tell… lol Thank you for sharing Curtis III. Now that the year is almost over and reflecting on this past year, what has been the biggest lesson for you? Never doubt what you create, just create and continue on. instagram.com/Curtisthethird_ twitter.com/Curtisthethird_ #BuzzMusic

Mind telling us more about your background. How was it growing up and how did you discover your passion for music? Thank you for having me back! My passion for music developed at a really young age, mainly due to my parent's record collection that I had access to. I owe a lot to my parents as they have always supported me, especially with music. I started guitar lessons when I was 9 years old at school and was fortunate enough to have a phenomenal teacher who helped shape me into the guitarist I am today. When I was younger I was mostly into Rock and Metal, which was led by looking up to popular guitar icons and wanting to emulate them. In my teenage years, I started listening to more singer-songwriter music as well as other more alternative genres and sub-genres of Rock and Metal, seeking out mostly sad music as my teenage years were plagued with painful and tragic events. This is when I started vocal lessons, which my Mum bought me as a surprise birthday present, and from there I started writing songs as a solo artist. 2019 has been a big year for you! Let's talk about your releases this year! You released 'Processed Life' in July and 'Here I Burn' in September. How do these differ from one another? What was the creation process like for both? Both songs were written 4 years ago when I was at Uni in a degree program that I was becoming progressively less interested in. ‘Processed Life’ came about from my feelings of being trapped in what felt like a process and wanting to break free and pursue music instead. The music always comes first for me and I came up with the intro/verse riff and chorus riff sitting on my bed on my cheap little acoustic guitar, with this song originally being an acoustic song. The abrupt dynamics from the clean to distorted electric guitar came about from wanting to give the chorus some more attitude and to reflect the lyric more. ‘Here I Burn’ is about my self-doubt that I’ve always had to deal with, which I’m starting to overcome. The guitar part came about through exploring an open C tuning that one of my acoustic guitars was tuned to for playing ‘Skinny Love’ by Bon Iver, and I just really enjoyed the harmonic possibilities of this tuning. The piano and string arrangements followed and from there my good friend Noah added some percussion. Compositionally the song structure and builds came about organically and I wanted to create a defeated yet hopeful vibe. You recently released an EP 'Something I've Found' in October. Can you tell us about the theme you chose for this? The theme of the EP really is stated right there in the title. It’s about finding something that I genuinely enjoy doing and can dedicate myself to because for a while there when times were tough I was struggling to do that. It’s also a lyric from the chorus of ‘Processed Life’, which is the most summative lyric of the EP in my view. Favorite song from your EP? Why? For me, it is between ‘Don’t Fight’ and ‘Back In Time’. Both songs are really personal for me and were written more recently than ‘Processed Life’ and ‘Here I Burn’. I am enjoying experimenting with open tunings, particularly with a quite low dropped 6th string to give a strong sense of bass notes, coupled with more emotive melodies/riffs that come about with my fingerstyle technique. Both ‘Don’t Fight’ and ‘Back In Time’ feature this approach to the guitar parts. If I had to pick between them though I would be leaning more towards ‘Back In Time’ as I really enjoy playing it live and people seem to connect with it. I feel it’s fairly relatable in wanting to go back to a time when things were more simple with someone. If you could choose one artist to collab with on a full album, who would it be? Why? This is so tough since I am a music lover, first and foremost and I have such an eclectic taste in music. On one hand, I would love to make an instrumental album with a band like Godspeed You! Black Emperor or Sigur Rós, but I would also love to work with a female artist like Julien Baker or Phoebe Bridgers who I could harmonize with vocally and create a harmonically rich vocal experience (they would be doing the heavy lifting though, as they’re incredible singers compared to me). In the future, I would like to venture in to more classically influenced instrumental music, as I feel it’s important that new classical/classical-crossover projects keep emerging, as I have grown up enjoying the works of Bach, Chopin, and Wagner to name a few. So perhaps I would have to go with working with Keaton Henson on a symphony, as I saw his ‘Six Lethargies’ performed at the Sydney Opera House earlier this year and it was a night I’ll never forget. What's next for you as 2019 comes to an end? I am just putting the finishing touches on a full-length debut album, so expect to hear new Josh Kroehn singles in early 2020 before the full-album drops about mid-way through 2020. facebook.com/jkroehnmusic instagram.com/joshkroehn #BuzzMusic

CJ Pitts has a strong passion for music and has been working nonstop with pure excitement to share the world with his newest projects expected to release in early 2020. Listen to CJ Pitts music here. Welcome to BuzzMusic CJ Pitts! How has living in the Los Angeles scene been for you? Have you ever felt inspired by your environment? Hello! Living in LA has been a blessing truly. There is so much opportunity and the city is so rich and full of art and music. I love the people, the culture, and the community. I’ve felt inspired in other places that I’ve lived but with LA it’s different. Not only does the city itself inspire, the people as well because of how hard people work and go after their dreams. Talk to us about your debut EP, “Lost Identity”. What was the main focus and theme of this project? Lost Identity was the first project I put out as an artist. It was a special project for me because it was a reflection of all the musical styles I enjoy and the start of me finding my own sound. The EP was basically about me not really knowing who I was based on how I grew up and how the music that flowed from my heart didn’t reflect that. Lost Identity was me taking a stand for the music that moves my soul. Which songs from “Lost Identity” do you feel best represented the EP’s theme the best? I feel like every song represents the meaning of Lost Identity in a different way. It shows my love for songwriting, Hip hop, and R&B styles. The first track “Switch It Off” basically sets the tone of me saying nothing will stand in my way of chasing my dreams and making the music that stems from my soul. Did you stumble upon any challenges during the creation process of “Lost Identity”? I didn’t really have much stumbling when it came to this first project. My biggest obstacle I would say would have been just deciding whether I should release it or not. I knew once the project was out there, people would see what path my music was going and would either accept or not support me. That was a scary feeling but I took that step of faith and it worked out in my favor. Let’s talk about your latest release “Come With Me”. What were some of the arrangements you were seeking in this song? My latest single “Come With Me” is a fun dance record. I was given the beat from my producer and it gave me the vibe similar to a Chris Brown record so I followed that intuition and shaped the sounds that way. I wanted it to be fun, relatable, and memorable, so that’s how I came up with the ideas to create this record. What’s next for you CJ Pitts? Next for me, I would say is always new music. I’ve been working on a ton of new singles for the new year as well as a new full project. I love creating so I just want to flood my fans with new music that reflects where I’m at in life. So tons of new content, as well as performances in this great city of dreams, is what the future holds! I’m super excited for 2020! instagram.com/cjpittsmusic twitter.com/cjpittsmusic #BuzzMusic

- Aman Dhesi Is Making a Legacy of His Own
Aman Dhesi has been riding on a high ever since the release of his debut EP, “Day One”. He always wanted to create music that resonated with people’s day-to-day lives. With the release of his EP, Dhesi has been able to check off more than just that. He gained large success with his singles “Another Never Ever” and “Rise Up” which climbed up the Canadian LGBT music charts and the top 10 of the UK LGBT charts. Aman Dhesi knew that singing and songwriting were immediately in his blood, from a young age. This has caused Aman Dhesi to create great music that will resonate with everyone. "Everyone has their own personal moment when they declare day one,” he explains. “Whether it is getting over a difficult moment in life, getting yourself to the next level, overcoming heartbreak, addiction, personal strife....it all starts with that inner moment where you decide this is MY day one.” It is this spirit and message that fuels the songs on display on Aman Dhesi’s debut EP. Alongside his EP “Day One”, he is excited to make his mark in the Toronto LGBT music scene and beyond. His music is intended to help people get where they need to go in life. Inspirational, powerful, and talented, Aman Dhesi has it all. We have followed Aman throughout his 2019 career and we're stoked for 2020 because we know Aman Dhesi will be a household name! Listen to Aman Dhesi here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Aman Dhesi! Mind talking to us a bit about your background and upbringing? What inspired you to initially pursue music and why? I'm originally from Vancouver, born and raised, and re-located to Toronto back in 2013. I've always had a love for music right from a young age. I credit a lot of that to my dad who always made a point to get me interested in his record collection. He introduced me to The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, David Bowie and lots of other influential artists. I've had lots of other influences ranging from an older cousin that really got me into grunge music during the early 90s right to my older brother who helped broaden my musical interest by introducing me to some of the big artists from the 80s. I think the interest in wanting to make my own music came after I saw U2 in concert back in 2005. I'll never forget the feeling I had after that concert. I can only describe it as a burning desire to start learning about my own musical capabilities. I was fortunate enough to get introduced to a mentor who works in the industry who taught me about singing, song-writing and the production side of being in a studio. I haven't really looked back since. We took a listen to your EP “Day One” and we loved it! Which songs off this project do you feel best represents the theme and why? Thank you. I'm glad people are responding so positively to it. It is hard to pick just one because each track highlights a different perspective or shade of the overall theme of the EP. I suppose the closing track, "Day One" would be the one that really showcases the spirit behind the EP. This is probably the most personal, confessional and vulnerable track on the EP. Lyrically it tells the story of being knocked down (which happens to all of us in life) and deciding to pick yourself back up by declaring 'this is my day one' and making a decision to be done with the past and moving forward to the next level of your life. How would you describe the challenges you faced in creating this album “Day One”? Idea overload. There were so many things I wanted to say lyrically and sounds that I wanted to explore what it was quite difficult having to condense it all into a five-song collection that sounded coherent but versatile. In fact, there are a handful of other tracks that we worked on that never made the final cut but they might be released next year. How would you detail the songwriting approach to most of the songs in “Day One”? There was never one approach. Certain songs began with a lyrical idea that I fleshed out while other tracks were born just by hearing something in my day-to-day. For example, one of the tracks (I'm not going to say which one) was inspired by a beat I heard in the "Kill Bill" movie. It got stuck in my head and I knew that we needed to create something around that. Lyrically, I always try to write from a place of authenticity and vulnerability which helped in creating songs that send very strong, uplifting and positive messages. Other times we came up with verses right on the spot in the studio and it worked. So there was never one approach, we kept it very loose and organic. What’s the main difference between singles “Another Never Ever” and “Rise Up”? I would say the main difference is the mood and theme of each song. "ANN" is a moodier ballad that is really about reflecting on the past and coming to the realization that, regardless of past break-ups/heartbreak, your ship hasn't sailed on finding love again. "Rise Up", on the other hand, is the tough-love track. Sometimes in life, you need a kick-in-the-ass in terms of letting go of the past, to stop wallowing, rise up and charge forward with your life. I think it is a great song to play for anyone that needs a "pull yourself together" moment and/or an empowering, uplifting shot-in-the-arm. What’s next for you Aman Dhesi? Well, I'm constantly writing new songs and have been tinkering with new concepts for songs so I'm aiming to be back in the studio to have some new music released in 2020. instagram.com/unabashedly_aman #BuzzMusic
- Shariffa Nyan Is a Genre-Bending Powerhouse Who Made 2019 Her Bestfriend
2019 has been kind to many individuals but it has been an amazing year for Neo-Gospel artist Shariffa Nyan. This versatile, Indie artist is finishing the year stronger than ever with multiple Gospel award nominations & very memorable performances. She continues to be a blossoming indie powerhouse in the music world. Her hit singles “Heaven” and “Do It For Love” continued to receive college, national, and international syndicated radio play, gaining a strong traction and fan base for her music. Shariffa Nyan is far from a fresh rookie, Shariffa Nyan began etching out her own unique sound, coined "Neo-Gospel" back in 2014 with her debut single, "Toast to Success". In 2016, she released her 2nd studio EP entitled "Every Part of Me" which allowed Shariffa to cultivate a far more diverse and broader reach. Shariffa Nyan has proved to be ahead of her time by fusing popular mainstream melodies with faith-based lyrics. Though it wasn't until the emergence of Kanye West's Sunday Service in 2019 that this style of genre-merging gained the recognition it deserved, Shariffa Nyan definitely helped pave the way. Shariffa is finishing her 3rd studio EP, entitled "Foreign" which is scheduled to release early 2020. Fans can expect another project delivering a sound that is fresh, creative and innovative with inspirational content that speaks to everyone. Be on the lookout for this "Queen on the Rise" as she brings new collaborations, new partnerships, and more inspiration into 2020! Listen to Shariffa Nyan's music here. Welcome to BuzzMusic Shariffa Nyan! What initially inspired you to get into Gospel music and the genre-bending direction you chose? Hello Loves! Well, I began singing at the tender age of 4. I grew up in the church and all throughout my childhood and teenage years sang in church choirs, community choirs, praise and worship teams and such. I also sang in my middle and high school choirs which allowed me an opportunity to learn elements from other musical styles such as classical and chamber. My mother had a record collection out of this world which consisted of Gospel, Rock, Reggae, Classical, Blues, and Jazz; so my musical palate was sundry, to say the least! Hip Hop and R&B were two of the most poignant and influential styles of my generation, so naturally, those elements ring true to my sound as well. Because I am big on delivering meaningful messages, content is super important to me. Though “Gospel” music allows me the freedom to encourage and uplift through my content, it has a very traditional and distinct sound. So, my style of genre-bending comes naturally because my musical influences are so diverse. What are some challenges you face in the creation process of your music? Mind telling our readers some of the obstacles you stumble upon? I think the most difficult part of creating new music is finding the right pieces to the puzzle. Collaboration is key, but can also create some pretty stressful situations when deadlines are put into place. I like to let things flow freely and not rush the process, but also know the importance of getting things done in a timely matter. Sometimes it’s the production, sometimes it’s the mix...sometimes it’s the whole concept that needs to be re-visited and re-vamped. But, it always has a way of working itself out, so I try not to stress too much. Let’s talk about your releases this year! Which song do you feel best cultivated the style of Shariffa Nyan the best and why? Oooou, that’s a hard one! I collaborated A LOT this year so each track brought out a different vibe depending on who I worked with. But if I had to pick just one...I would say, “Do It For Love” ft. Dauntee VellVett. This track definitely wove my love of Hip Hop, R&B, Chamber and Gospel into a beautiful ensemble that created the perfect backdrop for my vocals. Both sonically and conceptually, this was one of my favs this year. Which single out of your 2019 released would you say had the most emotional conviction? In what ways were you able to personally relate to the record? Wow, all great questions today! Well, each time I write a song or asked to feature on a track, I always try to come from a truly authentic place...from the inside looking out; reflective and introspective. I find that is where an artist is most impactful and relatable. “Do It For Love” has a line that states “I’m starting with the woman in the mirror, and I’m asking her to change”. That entire record was a reminder to myself to always put love first and never allow my pursuits to be driven by any other factor. I was also featured on the track “Follow Your Dreams” by Genuine Life which really hit home. Many times throughout my journey as an artist, I questioned if I was really cut for this. It took encouragement and support from key people in my life to keep me going. That track is extra special to me because my two oldest children made special appearances at the end! Let’s talk about this exciting upcoming EP “Foreign”. What can your fans expect from this project? Mind hinting to us some of the arrangements you’re planning on creating? I am very excited about my new EP, "Foreign"! Conceptually, the album explores the feeling of uncertainty and unfamiliarity that accompanies spiritual and emotional maturity. Sonically, I will be playing with a few musical elements that are a little “out of the box”, especially for what is popular mainstream right now. Without giving too much away, the album will have a foreign yet familiar sound...so fans can expect to put a few stamps on their musical passports! How do you plan on preparing yourself for another stellar year Shariffa Nyan I just plan to keep up the momentum. I have my upcoming EP release, fresh new singles w/ hot international artists, the launch of a sweet business venture, mini-tours and so much more. Wherever God leads, I am there! I am actively looking to add to my team of dream builders, so creating new partnerships with people that can help me bring my goals into fruition is a must. Consistency is key when planning for success, so I just plan to keep going steady as we enter into a brand new decade! facebook.com/ShariffaNyan instagram.com/shariffanyan twitter.com/shariffanyan #BuzzMusic
- Somori Pointer Displays a Mystical Approach with His New Atmospheric Single “California Moonlight”
Somori Pointer is not like your ordinary artist. Conceived in the narrow isles of used record stores, and born from a restless musical mind, Somori Pointer is possessed by a psychedelic soul, along with his own personal rock n’ roll devil riding upon his shoulder, luring the wolf within to howl with fury when the time to create calls. If that doesn’t excite you enough well then keep reading because we’re about to tell you just how Somori Pointer managed to turn us from a listener to a fan with just one single. We took a listen to Somori Pointer’s single titled “California Moonlight” and we were fascinated by the magical and mystic arrangement to the production. Somori Pointer elevates his listener into the song with an alluring delivery. This atmospheric song sends you into a dream-like state where you feel lost within the music. It’s a charismatic and prepossessing record that is sure to give you a grasp of how deep our imaginations are. Somori Pointer paints this vivid scene for his listener to continue the storyline in whatever feels suitable for them. The lyrics have a sense of romanticism hidden underneath the poignant and poetic surface. “California Moonlight” is a record that will leave an irresistible feeling of sensationalism, and this is exactly why Somori Pointer is an exciting artist to become intuned with. We can't wait to hear what's next for Somori Pointer in 2020! Listen to "California Moonlight" here. What’s up Somori Pointer! Talk to us about how you discovered your unique artistry? Being an open channel is a key factor in my creativity. I don’t force many things anymore, I use to try and choose which form of expression I would use my energy on. I truly believe as artists we carry a responsibility to express and interpret what the universe sends to our planet via radio waves. So, in short, I’m narrating the human experience in a way that’s only unique to us down here on Earth. But we’re all tied together with a common thread. With this song, in particular, I was fortunate enough to write and produce with Eric Lindsey, my ex-bandmate (The Skinny Guns). “California Moonlight” is a very interesting record that we felt absolutely in love with. What was the main theme behind this song? I would say that the theme of that record is based on a meditation of sorts. Trying to get my audience to stop..just stop. Let yourself enjoy the simple perfection that is life. Perfection isn’t perfect, in my eyes, the moon symbolizes the triumphant moment of living through another day here. Were there any obstacles you may have encountered when creating this single? What section in this song did you feel best highlights the theme you were seeking? As far as obstacles in writing C.A. Moonlight, there weren’t any. The lyrics came out in a couple of hours. I feel that every line in the song reflects the total theme of the song. From your own artist perspective, how would you detail your creative process with “California Moonlight” in a short quick summary? I tend to approach every song that I write the same, I wait for the story to come to me. I narrate the images that project in my mind the best I can. Most times the images have a universal plot or storyline, I have learned not to overthink what’s being shown to me. That, I believe is the best way for me to deliver an honest message. As 2019 is coming to a close and we reflect on this past year. Is there any major lesson you’ve learned that you’re planning on carrying on with you into the upcoming year? Yes....simplify. somoripointer.com #BuzzMusic

Munna Cash has finally released the music video for "Pain" and it's seriously such a vibe. Visually, the entire atmosphere that Munna Cash effortlessly creates is vivid and yet, hazy. Munna Cash integrates transition effects within the music video of "Pain" that are both trippy and lucid. Being his fourth released single, Munna Cash professionally puts together the "Pain" music video, which we can ultimately say is a stimulating experience. Obviously, when we heard the music video was finally out, we expected that energy to intrinsically match the vibes Munna Cash curates. Munna Cash doesn't set out to disappoint, which is why we're impressed with the visuals blended together for "Pain". Munna Cash continuously puts out these tracks that give us the needed lively and powerful push (which we desperately need when that mid-day pause comes around). Out of everything you’ve accomplished this year, what would you say you’re the proudest of? What I am proudest of mostly is just releasing a lot of content and showing people how serious I am about my music. And also understanding that everyone is not gonna rock with everything you release and how to not take that personal haha. That sometimes actually ends up pushing me harder because I eventually wanna make a joint the WORLD will vibe out to! Congrats on releasing so many singles in one year and being featured in multiple songs! It truly has been such an impressive year for you. What was the overall concept of your first release of the year, “Addiction”? It’s crazy to think about where that song started, I started writing it about 2 and a half years ago when I was in college about someone I was dating at the time. Then I gave up on it for a while then finished when I moved to Chicago and was in dire need of a creative outlet. The entire concept of the song is trying to let go of that one person you had so much love for and because the prod of the song has a darker timbre to it, it leads Personally, I was most engaged by the lyricism within “S P C E”! Can you dive into the meaning behind the lyrics on this particular track? What do you hope your listeners take away from the overall sentiment? It’s funny because this is the one song I collaborated with a friend of mine, Mekhai Lee, on this specific song. He had written to the first part of the song, showed it to me and offered it to me and usually, I would’ve been like “Nah I’m good” by the song was so fire I had to use it. The song is about the aftershock of getting over that ex that meant everything to you and the mind space behind that. I just hope this song prompts people to STOP BREAKING HEARTS aha Also, I just released the official video for S P C E go check it out! Among your singles in 2019, you’re featured on 2 new singles! What has been the most exciting collaboration for you this year? The most exciting collab for this year is actually something that hasn't been released. I have a song with one of my homie, “Jr.” with a song called Stay With Me that should be coming out within the next month or so. My verse on the song is almost the most in the pocket I’ve ever been and I can’t wait for the world to experience. What do you think it was about your single “One That I Want” that made it so increasingly popular with your fan base? I think this song was recognized because it truly captures what I’m striving for my sound to be. The epitome of my singer/rapper pocket. There also aren’t a lot of rap songs that talk about specifically wanting one girl, as opposed to having hella h*es and whatnot lol. (On a project I have coming out, there will actually be a remix to this song, I’m hella excited about) Thanks so much for catching up with us! What are you working on currently? We’re always looking forward to hearing more from you. Right now I am currently working in a joint EP with my homie J. Hasan, which will be released under the group name Empty Royalty! And I have my own project that will be released late February-early March. I know I have spoken of many incarnations of this project but this one is actually set in stone and will be named “Different Cities”. instagram.com/philsgoodmusic twitter.com/philsgoodmusic facebook.com/philsgoodmusic #BuzzMusic
- Poe the Passion Released the Thought-Provoking Single “Overdose”
Poe The Passion released the headbanging hit titled “Overdose” and this record was a hard-hitting slapper with a tough beat that you can blast at full volume in your vehicles, and at any party with friends. What’s unique about “Overdose” was the lyrical content of the song. Instead of sticking to a club-banging hit, “Overdose” was a substantial track that had a deep lyric material that hits you hard. The lyrics were thought-provoking and raw, talking about real issues and metaphorically presenting us with a different outlook on the passion and hunger Poe The Passion possesses. Poe The Passion is not only a phenomenal rapper, but he has the brains to match as he’s currently in school obtaining his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He’s undoubtedly a hard-worker and his hunger radiates through his passionate delivery. “Overdose” hits you like a punch, the lyric content, the flow, the production, everything this track is equipped with makes for a groundbreaking and extravagant hit single. Poe The Passion has this special quality to his music and his skillset that other rappers just can’t compete with. He’s showing us why he’s made for this, and why his time is approaching him quicker than he thought. “Overdose” could potentially be the song to skyrocket the career of Poe The Passion into greater heights he may not ever think of reaching! You can listen to “Overdose” by Poe The Passion below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Poe The Passion! Can you talk to us a bit about your upbringing and background? What initially motivated you to pursue music? I moved around a lot when I was younger, I have lived on the west coast to the east coast and now the Midwest is my home. So I got the opportunity of experiencing many different styles of rap. I just focus on maintaining financial stability, education, and music nowadays. I have had a love for music for as long as I can remember. I feel blessed I came up during the time where wordplay and style were the most important part of a song. My motivation to do music is simply I have a message and appreciate the opportunity to tell my story through music. Music gives me a way of expression that is universally accepted. Talk to us about your single “Overdose”, what inspired you to write this record? Overdose I wrote directly to the beat, I did not have a song idea in mind beforehand. I just played the beat and went with came to mind. I wanted to have fun and also bring energy to this track. Overdose is me bringing multiple thoughts to life than bringing those thoughts to the public in the form of music. How would you describe the songwriting approach to “Overdose”? Overdose is a collision of events, time and situations that I experienced throughout life. I am one of those writers once I begin writing, my material easily flows from my mind to the paper. Since I talk about my life and I bring my own personal experiences it seems to make things easier when projecting my thoughts and feelings into my artwork. The lyrical content for this record was deep and insightful. What was the most challenging aspect of creating “Overdose” for you? The most challenging aspect is the drive to always keep improving. Many of us artists are our hardest critics searching for our own definition of perfection which is unreachable but still, we try So creating an overdose was not very challenging in itself self but the thought of I want my next song to be even better is where the challenges come in for me. What’s next for you Poe The Passion? Keep making music, more music, and more music. I am currently working on my second album and 2020 will be a year of even more networking. I look forward to reaching new milestones as well as expanding my position to help other artists. More shows, I want to hit a few more states this year as well as drop several videos. poethepassion.com facebook.com/poethepassion instagram.com/poe_the_passion twitter.com/poe_the_passion #BuzzMusic
