  • NEW RELEASE: Maso·K·ist Releases "Desert Whales"!

If you're looking for something totally out of this world, you've come to the right place. May we introduce you to "Desert Whales" by Maso·K·ist. The song sounds just as crazy as the title and to be honest, that's quite the accomplishment. The punk rock/metal band that brings us this tune loves to dabble in everything freaky and phantasmal, so with that in mind, let's just dive straight into "Desert Whales". Maso·K·ist starts off running with some tight guitar chords supported by a killer bass and drum beats. Once the lead singer joins in with his awesome vocals and bonafide punk rock lyrics about the magical, yet tragic "Desert Whales", you know you’re in for a psychedelic ride. Quality is held high by this band as we go from guitar solo to the oddly satisfying vocals and screams that are done just so well. You really begin to feel like these whales are real.. Wait, do you hear them? At this point, the song begins to break down and gets really dirty, and of course, we mean in a good way. Think punk rock dirty. As we’re left in a trance absorbing so much good music, the whales echo in one last time and we’re sent off into the depths below. By the time "Desert Whales" is over, you’ll be left feeling so satisfied, and maybe a little bad for the desert whales. We told you this song was out of this world! Don't forget to check out Maso·K·ist latest single "Desert Whales" here! Hey Maso·K·ist! You gave us quite the ride with "Desert Whales". How did you come about writing and producing the beautifully sculpted piece that is "Desert Whales"? I wanted to write a song that involved two things that don't go together, in this case, Deserts and Whales, and construct it into a metaphor that I felt made sense and people could relate with. The track was produced by my friend Ryan Hommy and mixed and mastered by my friend Drey Morneau, both excellent at their trade. How did you machochist? By absorbing negativity like a sponge and keeping it in until I'm ready to regurgitate it over a blank piece of paper in the form of a song, or by burning my breakfast and putting water on my cold cereal. Dissatisfaction is my satisfaction. Could you tell us who your biggest musical influences are and which bands/musicians have had the biggest impact on your sound? I'd definitely say Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Nirvana, and Nine Inch Nails... Though I've had people compare some of our material to The Smiths & The Black Keys strangely enough. On the other end of things, what makes your band stand out from the rest? Being ambiguous, I'd elaborate but I've already said too much. Thanks for taking the time to chat with us guys! What’s next for Maso·K·ist? We're dropping our next single Inner-Space October 25th, it'll be the third single off our 'SEx SELLS' Ep due Dec 6th this year. Los Angeles native Robin Harris Jr. (RHJ) is the kind of artist that will mesmerize you. As a predominant rap/hip-hop artist, RHJ feeds his musical creations with absolute honesty and passion. You can feel the love he has for music, and it completely surges off any of his tracks. We can't even urge this enough when we say that we found a rap artist devout to telling his life story through his tracks. We can feel the raw vulnerability RHJ brings to his tracks, and we feel ultimately connected with him artistically. His tracks are an experience, as most great songs are, and RHJ has no problem sharing his inert hardships with listeners, which makes for a truly honest artist. RHJ's latest track: "Gas". Robin Harris Jr. brings BuzzMusic an incredibly hyped and fast-moving track. "Gas" holds that essential aspect all catchy rap tracks hold--energy! We feel the more mellow energy surging from Robin Harris Jr, and it absolutely can't be missed by listeners! Robin Harris Jr knows how to captivate an audience, and it's clear with the overall production of "Gas". We feel that our playlists have been completely blessed with Robin's latest track, and we can feel the impactful message integrated within the track. "Gas" is not just your typical catchy track, although we must admit it's definitely catchy in every way possible. Robin is able to belt out some pretty death-defying lyricism and really hit us hard with some of the harder messages he was able to share within "Gas". A track you don't want to miss out on, and definitively a track that needs to be added to your playlist today, "Gas" has every integral element of the perfect rap track. Check out "Gas" here, as well as Robin's interview below! Hey there RHJ! Welcome to BuzzMusic, and congratulations on the release of "Gas"! Do you feel that "Gas" was ultimately executed in the way you initially envisioned? Thank you for having me & giving me the platform. I feel that GAS was executed the right way. When I first recorded my vocals I knew the record had potential, but when Hipi Blvq & Jairus Mozee added their sauce to the record I knew we had something special. I was confident In ShootsBlayr & ErrolJay to execute my vision for the visual & they nailed it. That record was created organically so to see the type of positive feedback it’s been getting has been great so far. We could definitely feel the raw intensity behind "Gas". There was an underlying impactful message integrated within the track, and we're wondering if you'd be able to share your intentions with "Gas" with our readers?! Sure! Like I said “GAS” was created organically. I had recently just finished reading a book titled “Ego is the Enemy” by Ryan Holiday which helped inspired the record. One of the main things I took from the book was how our own ego can get in our way from being successful & the importance of being able to recognize that. I love music that I can drive too and GAS was definitely one of those records. I randomly came up with “watch em Gas me up, but don’t gas me up” meaning I can sense that people are going to hype me up due to recent accomplishments but don’t pump up my ego; I’m just doing what I’m supposed to do. I just created it based on how I felt at the time. How do you feel living in Los Angeles impacts your musical career? Do you feel that LA feeds your passion for music more than any other location could? I feel living in LA definitely impacts your musical career. It’s so much opportunity & a great market for people to come chase their dream & make something happen. I do feel that LA feeds my passion more simply because LA is home. I have so many memories & experiences growing up in Los Angeles and I feel that it reflects in my music. I used to take LA for granted but now that I’ve been blessed to travel I understand how blessed I am to be from the city of angels pursuing a career in music and entertainment. Tell us how your performances feel when you're up on stage! We imagine the crowds' energy is surging! I’ve been told that my live shows are a unique vibe for a Hip-Hop artist. One of my favorite things to do is to perform & when I hit the stage I turn into a whole different beast. I’m all about the vibes & spreading good energy whether it’s with a band or DJ. Thanks for sharing your new track "Gas" with our listeners! We hope to see future music from you! What's the next step in your career now that you've just released a new single? Thank you! The feedback for Gas has been amazing and I thank you for blessing me with a platform to showcase my music. Be on the lookout for more music coming from me & the AOE Camp in the future. I’m expecting to play more live shows and to release another full-length project in 2020. • Vibe Along To Mr. D.O.G.’s “Rocc W/U” Ft. Shoulderz the Loc, and Kalieb Nac

Well known for over 2 decades in the hip-hop scene of Western Washington, Mr. D.O.G. is a gifted hip-hop artist, lyricist, and a pioneer for the rap movement in his region. His latest project titled “The Aw8kening” is a 15 song LP that showcases Mr. D.O.G.’s versatility and lyrical skill. Featured on “The Aw8kening” is “Rocc W/U” which lightly pays a nod to the King of Pop Michael Jackson’s “Rock With You”. It’s an eclectic new track from Mr. D.O.G., Shoulderz the Loc, and Kalieb Nac. On top of what is a gorgeously colorful and partly organic soundscape, Mr. D.O.G. offers up a beautifully uplifting melody-line that’s surprisingly refreshing and addictive all at once. In addition to the likable groove of the music, the song’s concept offers a fine balance between personal truth and a generally accessible level connection. Mr. D.O.G. seems genuinely lost in the moment throughout the recording, he carries the bar well and makes certain to hold your affection without screaming out for views or throwing in anything irrelevant just to add volume. Mr. D.O.G. is an impressive artist with a natural connection to the genre and to performance on the whole. We can’t wait to hear more! Listen to “Rocc W/U” here and read more with Mr. D.O.G. below in our exclusive interview! Welcome to BuzzMusic Mr. D.O.G. We’re moving your recent project  “The Aw8kening”! How long has this LP been in the making and what does it represent for you? What's happen?! Thank you for having me. To answer your questions, the inception of this jewel began in early 2018. And what "The Aw8kening" represents to me is knowledge. Knowledge of self, my real enemies, and the wisdom to know the difference between the two. And knowing that now more than ever, the young life needs to be fed real soul food and not all these "zero-calorie" dysfunctional realities. Of your lengthy list of successes and achievements, which one is the most memorable or makes you the proudest of who you are as an artist? I would have to say, "The Seattle Mayor's Award for Musical Excellence, Business Acumen, and Community Involvement." And I say this one because it literally was a significant life-changing era for me at the time. I had so many different things happening all at once. And a lot of doors started revolving and that's when I started to truly understand the industry and the power of my voice. We love learning about the thought process artists have behind their work! What inspired your song “Rocc W/U”? What was the songwriting/creative process like? I'm no spring chicken ya dig? I come from an era of fun, soul-touching music. Marvin Gaye, Kool & the Gang, Cameo, understand me? So I wanted to have a party, feel-good joint on the album. A lil intermission from class, like recess, ya feel me? Everybody likes a good party and a feel-good vibe. How did your collaboration with Shoulderz the Loc, and Kalieb Nash come about? Dig this, The lil homies from the neighborhood are actually a group and been rattling a couple of bushes called "Gas Team." They had just put out a CD, "Love & Gangsta", and one of their Pop's slid the album to me. I tapped in and then really tapped in. Ya dig?! Now mind you, I was just at Jay Uno's and picking out tracks for the Lp. I hear this real saucy slapper for my party joint, and like yeah this "heem." So when I'm leaving, this is when I slip Gas Team's cd into the deck and all I could hear was Nash's voice on my new track. I go back to the "yo," make the call and email them the beat, and they pull up immediately! Like 15 mins! Uno plays the track and like it was already recorded, Kalieb starts vibing and hit us with that MJ tribute/twist. He doesn't even get a solid breath out after he finishes his melody before Shoulderz, like he was his Siamese twin, jumped in and started murking the track. The rest is history. And when I say, it was just natural and we pushed it out like that. We really pushed it out like that. Thank you so much for talking with us Mr. D.O.G. What's next for you artistically? Do you have any upcoming show to support “The Aw8kening”? Already. I'm currently in the lab wrapping up the follow-up album, entitled "the Curator". And I'm really letting loose on this one with a bevy of production and collabs that will fondle a lot of earlobes. I have several shows coming up in November for the MobWire Tour with Rydah J, Kylde & Shady Nate. It starts in Portland, Oregon at "Fuego" on the 8th and ends in Vegas with shows in Seattle, and Cali. I'm also coming back home to perform at the Seattle Sound Music Awards on November 27th. But don't forget you can also have a concert on your smartphone. Download/stream the album. It's on all platforms. Again, I 'appreciate y'all for having me on. • D. Arais Drops Sultry, Yet Vulnerable New R&B Anthem

    D. Arais is an up and coming music hailing from College Park, GA. Growing up, music was his passion, and it shows in his lyrics, somber guitar patterns, and just his overall swagger. His influences include poets like Black Ice and Shihan, and more notably Maya Angelou and Kendrick Lama. His music serves as his way of spreading love. Out now is D. Arais’ sultry track “WET” that serves are a necessary lovemaking song. D. Arais explores his vulnerable side and gets open and deeply personal about his relationships and desires. “WET” gives the listener a retrospective look at D. Arais’ feelings and thoughts.  “WET” focuses on being in love with someone and finally having a level of confidence to manifest it. “WET” is reminiscent of anyone’s first love and it demands to be heard. Equipped with a sultry voice and a catchy hook, D. Arais weaves through storytelling elements through his emotive songwriting and R&B stylings. D. Arais curates music that his listeners can relate to in order to forge original connections with his fans. Contemporary pop/hip-hop fused with Motown vibes give this track just enough soul for anyone to rock along with. It’s got contagious energy and addicting melody that we’re bumping on repeat. Authentically Zacarias’ style, “WET” is a spectacular smooth track on its way to the top. Check out “WET” here and read more in our exclusive interview below. Hey D. Arais, it’s such a pleasure to be featuring your music to our BuzzMusic community! How did you get originally started in the music industry? Was there a specific event/person in your life that made you get into music/ start recording your material? I'm very appreciative of the opportunity. Thanks for taking interest in my music. I hope your community receives me the same way as well. Originally I had started writing lyrics when I was 12. It wasn't until I got to college that I put effort into going to studios to record myself. B-Jai Avenue, a dope lyricist, and photographer had asked me to play and sing for him on one of his songs titled "Artistic Soul" featuring Noelle another awesome vocalist. After that, I just would take $50 to Platinum Sounds Recording studio and use that hour to my fullest potential. We immediately found that "WET" captured an alluring melody with lustful vocals! It's what caught, and ultimately kept our attention! What was the overall mood you wanted to set for listeners in this particular track? I'm glad it did keep your attention! The overall mood for WET was supposed to be one that's both seductive and alluring. I wanted it to be sexy enough to be able to use for lovemaking yet tasteful enough that the bold images in a listener's mind would be replaced by softer images of sensual seduction. How did the songwriting and recording process execute for "WET"? Did you fall into any creative slumps while initially writing the track, or does the curation process flow naturally for you? So, I'm the artist that plays and writes my stuff at home before I take it to the studio. Being a music major causes me to not wanna waste any producers time especially when I don't really know what I want to do. But I like to think that because I wrote and composed it, I'm the executive producer and the engineer in the studio is only there to both hear my vision and tweak it to make it come to life. I recorded WET with an artist called "7 am". Really dope musician. So the simple guitar melody had to go down first. When I was writing it flowed but the truth is, WET was only supposed to have one verse, not two. I wrote the second verse the way I did because I needed imagery to replace the actual act of what was going on. I fell into no creative slumps while writing it as I wanted it to be seductive and tastefully done. Tell our readers more about your definitive aspirations as an artist! What would you say is the ultimate goal, artistic wise? I would really love to write for the Artist H.E.R. I know she can do it H.E.R.self, but the chance to actually have H.E.R. sing some of my words gives me chills just thinking about it. I'd like to have a conversation with my favorite artist Ne-Yo. He was a huge inspiration for me growing up. I'd like to join the Red Bull Academy. The ultimate goal artistic wise, for me, is to change the way people think about life and love and happiness and pain and sandwiches. To get them to see other sides of things so that they are nowhere other than where they should be; right in the middle balancing out themselves in the end. I want to be that artist that isn't depressed, or clout hungry. I don't need trophies. I do this because it's mandatory. It's all I have. I want to make people feel again. I want the narrative of musicians to change. So I have to be that example of something great that doesn't take offense to jokes but it serious enough to shut down foolishness and walk in the truth that has been set before me. I don't care about fame. I care about being genuinely loved. Fame can blind that, and a person will have snakes in their gardens when they aren't able to tell the difference. I really just want to inspire creativity whether it's corny, cheesy or too real. At the end of the day, someone is going to love it but no one will if I don't first. Thanks for sharing your recent music here on BuzzMusic! A pleasure to have you here D. Arais! Any parting words for the BuzzMusic readers?! Thanks for having me!  Remember the Sandwiches! It tells you everything you need to know about me! You can discover more on D.Arias and his music via the artists' socials below! Instagram Twitter #BuzzMusic

  • Foxy Club Music Delivers Modern Rendition Of 1971 Hit “Hot Love”

Foxy Club Music is the epitome of real rock n' roll. The glamour, swagger, confidence and quirky lyricism pay homage to 1970’s glam rock in the most contemporary fashion. Brando Pablo is Foxy Club Music’s lead singer and songwriter who gets their listener grooving along to their infectious hook-driven melodies and contagious charismatic delivery. Foxy Club Music makes its debut with “Hot Love”, a refreshing rendition of T.Rex’s 70’s classic. Throughout “Hot Love” Foxy Club Music consistently showcase different sides to their creative approach. From softness to weight, calm to chaos, they utilize every element involved in order to craft something artistically relevant to the song’s underlying concept. “Hot Love” is a song that takes full advantage of contrast and builds up through its various sections in a manner that feels perfectly united to the sentiments in the writing. While that unmistakable voice is the first thing to reach out, later on, it’s the switch to a partly modern rock explosion of energy and color. There’s as much power in the instrumentation as there is in any of the lyrics or vocal inflections. Foxy Club Music is rock and roll first and foremost; loud, chaotic and urgent, but with an underpinning of infectious melody that gets stuck in your head for days. Absolutely worth a listen, we’re looking forward to more from Foxy Club Music! Stay tuned for their debut EP, coming soon! Check out “Hot Love” here! Read more with Foxy Club Music in our interview below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Foxy Club Music! We love your nostalgic sound! Can you introduce the members of the group and tell us about how Foxy Club Music came to fruition? Thank you kindly! It's a pleasure to be with you.  My name is Brando Pablo and I play guitar and swoon and croon among other things in Foxy Club Music.  I compose, write, and record all my own material, so there is nobody to blame but myself! (laughs)  It's a one-man band, but I do have a small team of gorgeous personalities with exquisite facial features whom I trust to provide indispensable help in the recording process, as well as a live performance. For the past year, I've been recording my music at a lovely boutique studio in Santa Monica called 4th Street Recording with my friend, in-house engineer and mixing and musical maestro, Sejo Navajas.  The studio has such a sexy and evocative classic rock décor: velvet curtains and sofas, shag rugs, mood lighting, vintage instruments, etc.  The atmosphere certainly nurtured my impulse to record my brand of nostalgic rock n' roll. I cook everything with a meticulous hand and feverish effort, but it is a calculatedly disheveled stew of shambles.  It's the sartorial concept of 'sprezzatura' applied to music: effort cloaked in the absence of effort.  Nothing is written or recorded by accident, but it is intended to sound as if the songs just stumbled and tumbled out of the back of the club with vodka on the lips in the blue midnight fog, but the feigned delirious misstep is truly just a perfectly rehearsed waltz upon a bed of roses.  Foxy Club Music was born out of my desire to write simple, deliberate, wistful, moody and glamorous rock n' roll.  Once I tapped into this inspiration, the songs sprung wild. Your rendition of “Hot Love” was really refreshing! What made you decide to release a cover song as your debut? How did you decide which song would work with your sound? Releasing a cover song as your debut is like flirting with your eyes, but with your sunglasses still on.  I wanted to maintain the mystery of Foxy Club Music, but also let you know that this is a thing and something is about to happen.  'Hot Love' showcases the style and romance of my music, but it doesn't give away too much or lift the mask too early.  It's just enough to get people to turn on their eyes and lift their ears and get a little curious.  It's a lily on the step before you walk in the door.  It's also a tribute to one of my favorite songwriters, and a primary inspiration behind Foxy Club Music: Mr. Marc Bolan of T. Rex.  I didn't think too much or too deeply about recording and releasing it.  I just love the song and had fun putting my own spin on it.  It felt right to play, but uniquely different from my original material to merit a stand-alone release.  I hope people enjoy it and discover T. Rex if they were not already aware. How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process? I enjoy playing live.  There are an incomparable buzz and rush that comes from playing live with a group in front of an audience.  It's a powerful feeling when you can get people to tune into your groove and ride your airwave on such an instinctual level.  It's intense and exciting.  Yet, I would generally say I prefer the writing and the recording process, because there are so many different routes I can take to develop a song.  It's a magical feeling to allow an initial spark of inspiration to be captured into a lyric and melody.  Songwriting is freedom, madness, and joy.  I'm also dreadfully private and devilishly introspective, so the studio is much more comfortable for me on a personal level.  However, Foxy Club Music was deliberately created to feel like an old-school rock n' roll band.  The songs were stitched and woven as arena-ready anthems meant to be played live and loud and jump out of the speaker.  I prefer the studio, but Foxy Club prefers the stage.  There's quite a bit of dissent and struggle in this one-man band. What are some of your ultimate goals as a group? Are any of these goals currently being put into place/being worked on? My ultimate goal with Foxy Club Music is to turn you on.  I want to make you feel like you're making out on the moon.  I want to make you feel like you're struttin' through the stars.  These are my modest goals. We’re looking forward to experiencing some of your original music! What can you tell us about your upcoming debut EP? My upcoming debut EP release will be preceded by a few more single releases over the next few months.  The next of which will be accompanied by a music video about which I'm fantastically excited. It will shed a bit more light into the Foxy Club universe.  The full EP can be expected in January.  You can expect 5-6 original songs.  The music has a very 70's glam feel, but I'm also pulling from a wide range of influences to give the sound a fresh and diverse mood.  David Bowie, Prince, Roxy Music, Lenny Kravitz, Rick James, Smokey Robinson, Tom Jones, Julio Iglesias, Marvin Gaye, INXS, The Supremes and Van Halen are the current records spinning in my studio to name a few.  You can expect some funky and swoony rock n' roll. Thank you BuzzMusic! I had a lot of fun.  Thank you for having me. www.instagram.com/foxyclubmusic #BuzzMusic

  • Catching Up With Luis Campos

Welcome back to BuzzMusic Luis! Awesome to have your music featured on BuzzMusic again! Tell us about the recent projects you've been in the works with musically? -Hi guys, thank you for having me featured on BuzzMusic one more time, I really appreciate it!! Going back to your first question, I’m involved in so many things right now I can’t even keep up, to be honest with you. With Delux we finished the new album called  “DESCONTROL”. We already released 3 songs from it “PURGATORIO”, “DDM (feat. Scott Russo from Unwritten Law)” and “DESCONTROL”. We released 3 official music videos for each song too. We also just came back from playing in Mexico City we had the honor to play the famous Pepsi Center WTC and share the stage with major band Allison and did some massive press promoting the new album over there! As for now I’m back in Los Ángeles writing the music for what will be my 2nd Jazz Fusion album that I’m planning on releasing next year along with a 3-week drum clinic tour that I have in mind, this clinic tour will happen whenever Delux allows me to do it through 2020!! Also finally my music studio is up and running and I’m trying to make time to write some music for tv, films and to produce some bands! I’m actually in shock to see how many bands and musicians have reached out wanting me to record them and work with me, this definitely happened after I posted a few pictures and samples of my studio playing drums and recording, I definitely see my self producing full time in a few years I think life is trying to show me a path that I never thought about following that I definitely love, we’ll see where that takes me but for now I’m focused in Delux, practicing and using my studio for all the things I build the studio for which is to film drum videos, write and record my own music and practice 24/7 if possible, once I get that out of the way I might start taking some bands and projects in!! As an incredibly experienced musician, how do you find each project you've been apart of has ultimately shaped your sound and musical execution today? Is there one particular experience you've had within your musical journey thus far that has had a more defined impact on your career? Thank you for the compliment referring to me as an incredibly experienced musician! I definitely have been doing this for 20 plus years so I guess that somehow has given me some type of experience in this career but to be honest I feel like I’m at -0 from where I want to be and that’s the reality, this craft never ends and sometimes I feel like my brain is going to explode with so much criticism I do to my self as an artist cause I really see my self really far from where I want to be as a drummer now, I’m talking about performance and skill level only I’m not talking about success as a musician. A lot of projects if not all have definitely shaped my approach to music and career no question about it, to mention a few very important to me I would say when I did a drum jam with one of my mentors, friend and drum idol Antonio Sanchez we did this drum jam thing at Drum Channel studios in Oxnard Ca and sitting there with one of the best jazz drummers in the world face to face was a very lively game-changing experience to me, it basically inspired me more than I’ve ever been inspired in my entire career, it shaped me so much as a drummer, it gave me hope, faith and so much strength to work harder and keep pushing fwd in my career, you might ask why did it impact your career? I mean being at Drumchannel studios, having DW Drums CEO Don Lombardi producing it and behind the cameras and having to do a drum jam duo plus an interview with a monster like Antonio Sanchez ain’t a joke and you can ask any other drummer in the world to confirm it!! Also playing in rock bands has changed my approach to drumming I even changed from traditional grip to match grip when I hold my drumsticks and the only reason is because when I play in rock bands I hit so hard that makes more sense to play match grip, another thing is that switch a lot between playing constantly jazz fusion music to punk rock music and somehow gives me either a more powerful punch approach when playing drums or the ability to be very tasteful and soft when need it in a band!! I think bands that I recorded drums for or worked with have mentioned it a lot so I think it’s somehow working cause people to keep calling and passing the voice through. How would you say you personally navigate through the music world? What's your secret in becoming a well-rounded artist and musician? Well I would say having a good attitude is definitely something that opened a lot of doors for me and to be honest it’s not really hard for me cause my personality is like that already I’m always trying to spread support, loyalty, love and respect around me, also creating my own opportunities has been crucial in my growing as an artist, I never sit down waiting for a miracle to happen, I’m the type of guy who makes things happen. Also being dedicated is a gift I feel God gave me and has helped me a lot in my career and personal life I’m like a beast, once I start something I finish it, sometimes I have to pull my self out of doing something cause I can focus for days until it gets done it’s a good thing but also a bad thing if you don’t make sure there’s a balance, you can find your self overworking in a non healthy way so I constantly have to make sure I’m not killing my body and brain and make sure I give rest when need it. Do you feel that your music comments on any political or social issues? Could you ever see yourself as using your music as a platform to talk about such issues? Not really, I do my best to stay away from talking or arguing about political and social issues! It’s not because I’m afraid of confrontation but mainly for keeping peace in my mind, politicians upset me a lot and regarding social issues I prefer to do my part instead of just talking. For instance I vote if I don’t like certain president or what’s happening in our country, I keep an eye on climate change and do my part when it comes to not using plastic things, non smoking, not throwing trash where is not suppose to, and basically I do my best to be a good human being and bring something to this world as little as my part might be and of course I might argue about certain things or situations when need it, sometimes people need to be put in their place, it’s just what it is and somehow I’m really good at doing it when need it too lol Can you tell us more about your live performances? Do you prefer live performance over the actual songwriting/recording process? I love both so much but I definitely prefer live performances over the process of writing and recording right now, the reason is because writing and recording takes so much time and requires a lot of work, concentration and it’s a whole process and right now time is not something that flies around me I’m really tight with my time and I do my best to use it as wisely as possible. So being ready to perform live takes a lot of time too but once you get it over in a couple of weeks and you’re ready all you have to do is go out there perform and have the time of your life, travel and connect with people. Playing live is one of the best things I have experienced in my life, look at me I’ve been doing it for 20 plus years now I’m very aware this is what I love doing in my life and I have never doubted that this is the path I want to keep following till I die!! Amazing to see you and your music thriving Luis! It was a real treat being able to feature you on our platform again. Would you say that your new music in the works currently adheres to any world trends within music right now? -Well one thing is for sure the music I’m writing right now for my jazz album is definitely not a trend and I don’t think it will ever be, I write music for my jazz band cause it gives me so much freedom as an artist plus it doesn’t have to be popular or certain way! it basically allows me to be me after all and that’s what I love about it, I can put drum solos here and there, weird bass lines, drum fills, different time signatures there’s basically no rules! Jazz is fire and as much as I love punk rock or alternative music I can’t live without  listening, writing and playing Jazz and vice versa.  Now it’s a different story with Delux new album, it’s a mix of everything, this is the best album I’ve ever been part of and I said this because this album really has a wide range in its entirety, some songs are like back in the 2000’s other songs might sound very current mainstream 2020 type, others very pop-like, some tracks are straight out old punk rock school and others can be very soft and ballad pop. We put so much work and time while writing and shaping this album, Leo (guitar/Vocals) and Mo (guitar/vocals) got together and put together all the structures, melodies and ideas then we all got together of course including Nacho (bass) and put together everything, I think it took us around 2 months inside our rehearsal cave to finish the whole thing, then we had producer Joe Marlett stop by the rehearsal space around 4 times and basically gave the final touch in what he wanted and what not!! Then we went to Signature studios in San Diego Ca, to track drums and guitars and the rest is history basically in hands of super talented producer Joe Marlett (Blink 182, Foo Fighters, Unwritten Law). Delux team right now is pure fire, I feel like we found a very strong balance and team in the band and the album reflects that in so many levels, professionally, musically, etc.. it’s a very honest album and I am extremely proud of it, Mo, Leo, Nacho, Joe and I worked extremely hard for it!! I wanna finish the interview saying to everyone reading this “don’t let anyone stop you from reaching your dreams”. Born in Englewood, Colorado, Harrison Cone has had a passion for music from a young age. He learned both the piano and guitar from his father at a young age and hasn't stopped since. Harrison’s music is a smooth blend of R&B/hip-hop inspired alternative indie-pop. He credits his main inspirational artists and influences as Justin Bieber, Charlie Puth, 80s music, Bob Dylan, Post Malone, Pop/Urbano Latino music, and Xxxtentacion. Harrison strives the write meaningful lyrics that his fans and listener can connect with on a deeper level. He strives the paint a realistic picture of what he has gone through in order to make his music accessible for people from all walks of life. Vulnerability is key to be an admired artist and Harrison gets that. As someone who struggled with his mental health, Harrison Cone has never been more passionate about his message. Harrison Cone’s latest release “Sentirte” is an urban-pop Latin-inspired dance song. Fusing both his life experiences of his first romantic relationship and his love for his Hispanic heritage on his father’s side, Harrison created a Latin pop crossover hit! Some of the lyrics are delivered in Spanish and it completely captivates and adds the element of romance that we love. “Sentirte” proves to be both versatile and completely catchy and satisfying. It absolutely puts Harrison Cone on the map in a big way through these coming months. Check out “Sentirte” here and read more with Harrison in our exclusive interview below! "Sentirte" obviously had a powerful underlying story to it. Are you able to dive deeper into the honest meaning of the track? It was honestly all about love and lust in a romantic teenage relationship and the strong emotions you feel when you first meet someone that you are strongly attracted to. I wanted to make a song that was an upbeat party song because I've done quite a few sensitive songs, and I wanted to elevate my mood as well as others. I deal with anxiety and depression and this song helped me feel happy. I really feel that finding your sexuality is so important and this song celebrates that. I also sang it in both English and Spanish. I was inspired by Latino Artists that I love, and I wrote the song to celebrate my Hispanic heritage on my Dad's side. It is one of the first Pop/Latino songs I've written. I've never fit into a genre box or an ethnicity box. "Sentirte" is flooded with absolute passion and emotion. What emotions were crucial to channel when creating this song? I wrote the music with a fun tropical vibe full of excitement while the lyrics expressed the passion and romance that I was feeling about a romantic relationship I was having. To be honest, I was really feeling a sexy lustful infatuation vibe while writing and singing the song. How do you personally feel about live performance? Would you say that you prefer the live performance aspect of music more over the writing/recording process? I'm 16 and I've been in a studio writing and producing music for the last 3 years, growing and developing as a musician/producer/singer who plays all the instruments and beats for my songs. I love creating while singing in my studio. It's where I'm most at home. I look forward to hopefully going out on tour soon though. It was amazing showcasing "Sentirte" to our listeners, and getting to know you as an artist in the process! Any words you'd like to leave the BuzzMusic community off with?! Yeah, thank you so much for having me and listening to my music! I really had fun doing this! Follow me on @Harrisoncone on Instagram, Snapchat and Tik Tok. Bad Bunny, J Balvin, and A. Chal inspired me to do this Pop/Urbano Latino song and I hope they hear this and want to collab. I would love to produce many great Artists out here in LA! @harrisoncone #BuzzMusic

  • MUSIC VIDEO PREMIERE: Dree Mon Releases New Visuals For Hit Single “When It Goes Down”

Dree Mon is a talented, Los Angeles-based pop artist and incredible vocalist. She has been previously described as "the sardonic love child between David Bowie and Wonder Woman from the valley," and since her debut in 2017, she hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. Her dance-pop crossover songs spread a high energy positivity that impossible not to enjoy. Dree Mon has performed as a variety of venues including The Satellite, The Hotel Cafe, The Love Song Bar, Bar Lubitsch, the Viper Room, & many venues in San Diego where she frequents for solo gigs every month. Her notably imaginative music videos have garnered Dree Mon nothing but success. Dree Mon’s brand new music video for “When It Goes Down” is out now and features Dree Mon in an outdoor landscape. This song "When It Goes Down," promotes the sentiment of not having to conform to heteronormative societal rolls and pursuing your career long-term, while still getting to have it all. The music video displays a quirky twist on the emotional turmoil that comes with being with someone who doesn't necessarily accept who you are, but the lyrics tell a story of wanting that person to stay, despite the differences. I love the simplicity of the music video because it’s outdoors, It’s raw and inspiring and showcases Dree Mon’s true self to build stronger connections with her fans. A fantastic song, thoughtfully arranged, lyrically fascinating and refreshingly original and honest. It also confidently brings back that authentic pop sound with the energy and the freely expressive set-up. Check out “When It Goes Down” here and check out our interview with Dree Mon below! Welcome to BuzzMusic Dree Mon! We love hearing about how artists originally got started! What inspired you to first begin recording and releasing your music? Thank you for having me! Well I first started releasing music in 2012 under a different project name and it all came about from one thing leading to another. I was inspired by all the singers I used to dance for from indie artists like myself to bigger names like Cee Lo. I always loved singing and I already wrote songs out of pure cathartic need so I had the desire but I was clueless about how it all worked. Sometimes I still feel that way, for real!. :) Luck had it, I went to the party of a good friend and met a music producer whom I found myself telling, I was this bonified, legit songwriter. Even tho my songs had only been heard by my stuffed animals, he and I started working together after that... and things kept going from there! Your song “When It Goes Down” is so catchy! Tell us about the sentiments behind the lyrics. What the significance of the title with the main theme of the song? I love dance music, pop, funk and I adore music from the 70s, 80s and 90s, so that means a lot to get that catchy stamp from you! This is actually a more vulnerable release than I’ve put out with Dree Mon, danceable as it is, I was on the brink of some rough waters with a relationship and my co-writer was too. The balance between relationships and the unrelenting, unforgiving persuit of a dream is no joke. Especially when life starts pulling you in two different directions. It was important to highlight that sometimes we want people to be there for us so badly - we might not realize that we aren’t what they need. And vice versa. I also think it’s especially tough for women in this industry because at a certain age people start to wonder when are you going “let it go” “settle down,” the works..... and that’s really not being supportive of someone IMO. We can and should have careers and whatever else we want. It’s still a bit of a stigma. “When It Goes Down” the main lyric just asks who is gonna be there for you when shit hits the fan? When it’s right, Love and support need not be conditional. The new music video had us captivated start to finish! It’s so fun yet holds a heavier meaning behind it. What was the overall concept and vision you had for this video? Building on what I mentioned above, I wanted to show the complexity and kinda schizophrenic reality of the mind when you have so many conflicting feelings and you feel like everyone wants a piece of you but you can’t even give enough to yourself. My videos usually portray me as a badass boss bitch, or something like that, free, sassy, gritty and goofy all at once. But sometimes you are also just too human,  which can mean confused, yearning, a people pleaser, docile, stifled... to break free from our chains we must first recognize that they exist. I had fun playing in boxes you normally don’t see my artist self in, but that I have been in, and I hope people can relate.  We deserve to do what we love and celebrate who we are and be surrounded by people who promote that sentiment! Do you feel that your music is an accurate depiction of who you are as an artist? Do you feel ultimately connected to your listeners through your music? I feel like this song was a bit more personal and it was a continued evolution for me as all my singles have been since my first “Rebel Soul” which came out in 2017. I am continuing to explore, and play, but the theme is always low key rejoicing in your individuality while sonically drawing from some throwback element. You could be a rebel, a hidden artist, a “freak” (I used to get called weirdo a lot ... yeah I know...), or a beauty queen and still all want the same things deep down. But mainly my audience loves to dance- so we all have that in common too. :) It was such a pleasure to have you and we can’t wait to hear more! Do you have plans to release a longer project? What are you working on going forward? The pleasure is all mine! Truth, I just came back from having vocal surgery, which could be a whole other interview! I truly learned so much. And I have to give a quick shout out to everyone who has been super supportive during my time off. But now, I’m getting back to gigs and recording and toying with the idea of an EP pretty hard. It could be a great way to cement whatever micro-direction I meander to next. But one thing I know, it will be catchy AF. • Dallas-Based Independent Artist Curtis III Drops Brand New Track “Make Time”

Curtis III is an exciting new act from Dallas, Texas. He blends contagious rhymes with the power of knowledge and breaking the conditioning of social consciousness. A lyricist that put more thought into his lyrics then most, he’s on the rise to the top with his unique outlook and impressive lyrical ideas. “Make Time” is a brilliantly crisp and chaotic alternative project that showcases a whole new side to the already creatively free and consistently striking artist. Curtis III exercises his unpredictable lyricism and expressive, theatrical vocal style in a continuously engrossing manner. Fragments of ideas, dark and intriguing, alongside short lines and quick rhymes make this one you’ll undoubtedly need to hear more than once to connect with it. In between moments of intensity, there are delicate musical intricacies throughout “Make Time”. There are dashes of instrumentals, melodies, and hooks that craft engaging, alternative hip-hop ambiances. “Make Time” makes the most out of all of this, a few simple elements but each one unexpected and free-flowing – rhythmic but artistic, and always more in tune with the progression of the story-line than a simple industry standard. Bringing through the pace and vibrancy of the track fused with a clever structure, Curtis III’s story-telling, and compelling vocal delivery, makes for something incredibly refreshing to experience. Listen to “Make Time” here and read more with Curtis III below in our interview! Hey Curtis III! Welcome to BuzzMusic! What inspired you to first begin making music and releasing it to the public? I’ve been recording and releasing music since 2008. I started out recording myself in my room I would drop songs with friends from school and put it out on MySpace and bandcamp. That later transitioned into me getting my publishing and dropping music on iTunes and Apple Music, its been a steady grind. But doing it independently is the best way to me. You seem to be an artist that puts more thought into his bars than most. What can you tell us about the lyrical depth within “Make Time”? I recorded Make Time my senior year of college at Virginia State University. I was inspired to record the song when I was reflecting on the past 4 years and all it took for me to reach that moment, I had a lot to get off my chest and express. I told myself that once I graduate my goal would be to make music full time. Tell us how you felt during the production of "Make Time"! Did the execution of the track run as smoothly as expected? It was a easy process to record the song. I still to this day record everything myself with my at home studio. When I i first herd the instrumental by J patterns I instantly began to come up with the hook and from there I finished my verses and the song that same day within an hour. Would you say that your music is a big reflection of who you are as an artist? Do you stay true to yourself 100% within the music scene? My music is a splitting image of who I am. I use my music and platform to express myself and it’s very therapeutic for me to get everything that’s on my mind out to the world so that it’s no longer bottled up inside. More than anything I use music as an outlet to express what I’m going through. It’s almost like time capsule for moments in my life I can go back and remember where I was in life when I listen back to songs iv done. Thank you for sharing your new music with us! What can we look forward to seeing next from you as an artist? I have my eyes set on 2020. New album, new videos, you can expect everything to be elevated and pushed to a new level. See you guys at SXSW in March. Connect with Curtis III on social media: www.Instagram.com/Curtisthethird_ www.Twitter.com/Curtisthethird_ #BuzzMusic
